Former House GOP leader Tom DeLay stopped by Houston talk radio host Sam Malone’s show last week to discuss his efforts to stay active in politics since leaving the House of Representatives in a cloud of corruption accusations, or, as Malone called it, “the persecution of Tom DeLay.”
“The Supreme Court is about to put out a ruling on marriage and they have no jurisdiction to do so, they shouldn’t have even heard this case, they have no right to redefine marriage and hopefully the American people will rise up and really undermine the legitimacy of the Supreme Court,” DeLay said.
Pat Robertson fielded a question from a “The 700 Club” viewer today who wondered what she should do about a relationship her son is having with a married man who attends her church. While the viewer didn’t specify her son’s age, besides saying that he lives at home and that she is a widow, Robertson assumed that the son was a minor and claimed that the married man was “a pedophile” who should be held accountable by church elders.
This led Robertson to launch into a larger rant about how gay men are bent on recruiting children into homosexuality.
“Her son right now doesn’t know what he wants and he doesn’t know whether he’s a homosexual or not a homosexual, but this guy is trying to talk him into that,” Robertson said. “There’s so many young people, impressionable, some coach comes after them, some adult comes after them, some older sibling comes after them, and they somehow think, ‘Because they did this I must be gay.’ Well, he doesn’t know that for sure, he doesn’t know what sexual identity he’s got.”
Charisma Magazine news editor Jennifer LeClaire is upset that programs such as “Transparent” and “Orange Is The New Black,” along with upcoming shows “All that Jazz” and “Becoming Us,” prominently feature transgender people.
LeClaire writes in BarbWire today that these programs, along with Bruce Jenner’s recent announcement and the Girl Scouts’ decision to let troops include trans scouts, signal that “the floodgates are now officially open.” And, according to LeClaire, Satan is to blame.
The “devilish prince is strategically pushing perversion to new heights in the name of equality” and “seducing people into a lifestyle of perversion that ultimately separates them from God,” she warns.
About this time last year, TIME magazine put Cox on its cover. I proclaimed at that point that this was the tipping point of perversion. Sadly, it looks like I was right. Just four months later, Amazon came out with an original series called Transparent in which “an LA family with serious boundary issues have their past and future unravel when a dramatic admission causes everyone’s secrets to spill out.”
The mainstream media tested the waters, it seems, and discovered the temperature was just right to push a little further up the mainstream. In April, Bruce Jenner wowed 17 million viewers in a two-hour interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC. He offered intimate details of his journey from a male Olympic athlete to a woman.
The floodgates are now officially open.
ABC Family will soon broadcast Becoming Us, about a teen who works through his father’s transition from male to female. Jenner is producing his own E! docuseries that will debut on July 26. Oh, and the Wachowski siblings, one of whom was the first Hollywood director to come out as transgender, will premier a new Netflix original program called Sense8.
On top of all that, TLC is rolling out All that Jazz, which focuses on a 14-year-old named Jazz Jennings who decided he was a girl at a young age. His parents let him live as a girl and gave him hormone treatments from age 11. There’s more but we’ll stop there.
Battling the Prince of the Power of the Air
Satan is the prince of the power of the air (see Eph. 2:2). We’ve long seen all manner of perversion coming out of Hollywood, including the glamorization of adultery, fornication, idolatry, thievery, greed, drugs and more. Clearly, though, this devilish prince is strategically pushing perversion to new heights in the name of equality.
Our war is against a demonic agenda to call evil good and good evil (see Is. 5:20). This agenda is seducing people into a lifestyle of perversion that ultimately separates them from God. This agenda is working to mainstream a way of life that leaves people in bondage. And, ultimately, this agenda is demonizing anyone who won’t embrace this new “civil rights” issue.
The Agenda Goes Beyond Hollywood
Mind you, this is not just an issue in Hollywood—the agenda is creeping into other aspects of society. The Girl Scouts are now allowing boys who identify as girls to join their ranks. Franklin Graham is calling out schools for teaching lies about transgenderism, as new class curriculum will teach gender fluidity as normative.
Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum announced today that he will once again be running for president. And why not, since while he failed to clinch the Republican nomination in 2012, by coming in second place to Mitt Romney he helped resuscitate a political career that had ended with a blowout reelection defeat in 2006.
Santorum hopes to build support from the farthest right base of the GOP, one which adamantly opposes gay equality and any step towards immigration reform and wants to turn back the clock on women’s rights. Santorum’s candidacy, as evidenced by his 2012 victories in Iowa and the Deep South, show that the Republican Party’s polarizing far-right flank has held on to its influential role, even as it jeopardizes the party’s ability to win elections and improve its image with the general public.
Here are five of Santorum’s worst policies, which give just a taste of what the GOP’s far-right base is craving:
“We have the state establishing a new religion, a secular state religion, a secular orthodoxy that everybody is going to have to comply with,” he said last month. “We don’t have as the threat was at the time of our Founders, the Church of England imposing the English church on America. We have now the secular church that is being imposed on this country and anybody that defects is subject to persecution and prosecution. That is a very serious threat to liberty in America.”
Public schools, according to Santorum, should ban secular teachings from the classroom because secularism has become “a religion.” He also said there will be “agitation” in American society until civil laws “comport” with divine laws.
He also produced a film with the far-right Family Research Council, which he also appears in, warning that gay rights laws violate the “wall of separation.” Santorum criticized laws barring discrimination against gay people as “a violation of the Establishment Clause” and signed a petition vowing to defy any Supreme Court decision striking down gay marriage laws.
3) Women’s Rights
In 2012, Santorum pledged that if he were elected president he would discuss “the dangers of contraception in this country,” claiming that contraception is “not okay because it’s a license to do things in the sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be.” He claimed contraception access is an “important public policy issue” since it negatively impacts society and makes people “deconstruct” sex “to the point where it’s simply about pleasure.”
While criticizing Obama’s recent executive actions on immigration reform, Santorum denounced Obama as a “tyrant” who “acted against the Constitution” and “back[ed] Americans in a corner.”
He pledged to veto the DREAM Act, saying that young people brought to the U.S. as kids should simply “go back” to “Mexico.” However, he said that the U.S should immediately grant legal status to a German family who refused to go back to Germany because of its country’s laws limiting homeschooling.
While Santorum deflects any criticism of his interpretation of Christianity as an attack on religious freedom, he has no problem warning that mainline Protestant churches, along with universities and the government, are under the influence of the Devil:
Today on “The 700 Club,” a viewer wrote in to tell Pat Robertson that her daughter “is possessed by a demon” because “she’s in jail.” The mother told Robertson that she can’t “stand to be around” her daughter “long enough to visit her,” so asked whether it was possible to cast out her daughter’s demon “from afar.”
That is indeed possible, said Robertson: “Yes, you can pray it [out] from afar. But I think you ought to get a group together and maybe see that daughter, but I think you may have to have an exorcism. But I don’t know what she’s got.”
He advised the mother to be careful because “the last thing you want to do is to get together and start singing, ‘There Is Power in the Blood,’ you don’t serenade demons, you command them in the name of Jesus to leave.”
“I don’t know if the jailers would allow you to have a little intercessory deliverance meeting if you brought some people in,” he added.
“I had a demon who said, ‘You can’t have her, she’s mine,’ and I said, ‘No, demon, you can’t,’ so sometimes he’ll talk to you and you’ve got to respond,” Robertson continued. “How come she’s got the demon? What did she do to get possessed?”
He did, however, entertain the idea that the woman’s daughter has a mental illness and actually needs “psychiatric care or some chemical intervention to keep her sane” rather than an exorcism.
Take, for example, Ben Carson, who has continued writing a weekly column for the far-right outlet WorldNetDaily even after announcing his campaign for president. Writing in WND today, Carson claims that the military will not be able to continue its proud tradition because leaders “abandon[ed] them as they did in Benghazi and [said] it was too dangerous and too late to risk rescue efforts.”
“Why would soldiers in the future take on heroic risks for a nation that would be willing to abandon them when the going gets tough?” Carson writes. “These kinds of dishonest and cowardly decisions will have deleterious effects on the future of our nation.”
Carson also criticizes Harry Reid, whose last name he misspells at times as “Reed,” to claim that his attacks on Mitt Romney during the 2012 election represented “inappropriate internal warfare” and were likely “met with glee by the jihadists and others wishing to destroy our nation and our culture.”
In the end, Carson writes, “we must learn to stop fighting each other and recognize that many of the issues over which we constantly squabble are not Republican or Democratic issues, but rather are pro-American and anti-American issues.”
I have heard many people say that the level of dishonesty and corruption in our society is no worse today than it has been in the past. I have done a great deal of reading about American history, and I take issue with this assessment. I believe there has been a significant moral decline in our society based on the fact that many people now conclude that they themselves are the final arbiter of right and wrong.
By way of example, Harry Reid, the former Senate majority leader, was recently being interviewed on one of the cable networks, and he was asked about his claim during the previous election cycle that Mitt Romney had failed to pay income taxes for several years. That was proven false, but the damage had already been done to Mr. Romney. Mr. Reed’s [sic] response was: “Well, he didn’t win, did he?” It was a blatant and unsubstantiated claim made in a politically protected environment. The worst part of this story is that not a single one of Mr. Reed’s [sic] congressional Democratic colleagues condemned this prevarication, and other than Fox news, the story was largely ignored. It is extremely alarming that so many people are more loyal to their political party than they are to the reputation and moral standing of their nation.
When party loyalty trumps a sense of morality, as a nation we are in great trouble. Such attitudes lead to bitter divisions and in many cases outright hatred, which causes people to viciously attempt to harm their perceived opponents. Such inappropriate internal warfare can only be met with glee by the jihadists and others wishing to destroy our nation and our culture. If we are trying to destroy each other, we are obviously making their jobs much easier. Because we are involved in a global struggle for survival, even though many of our leaders refuse to admit that, we must learn to stop fighting each other and recognize that many of the issues over which we constantly squabble are not Republican or Democratic issues, but rather are pro-American and anti-American issues – and we should be on the same side.
How can people be expected to work for the good of a society whose leadership cannot be trusted? How can our military with its proud history of selfless courage be expected to continue such a tradition when our leadership abandons them as they did in Benghazi and says it was too dangerous and too late to risk rescue efforts? Why would soldiers in the future take on heroic risks for a nation that would be willing to abandon them when the going gets tough? These kinds of dishonest and cowardly decisions will have deleterious effects on the future of our nation. When we sacrifice our principles for political expediency, we end up in a very bad place. We must teach our kids the benefits of honesty and integrity. The concept of a clear conscience is worthy of discussion once again. The ability to concentrate on what one is doing because you’re not constantly worried about skeletons in the closet is a topic worthy of in-depth conversation both for us and for the next generation.
Musician and conservative commentator Pat Boone is outraged that Robert Gates, president of the Boy Scouts of America, recently proposed an end to the organization’s ban on adult gay members.
Calling the announcement a “danger to our way of life,” Boone writes in WorldNetDaily today that if the Scouts move to “embrace homosexuality” it will “leave Scouting permanently marred, totally changed into something the founders would be appalled by – and that will inevitably bring about the collapse and demise of Scouting itself.”
According to Boone, all of America is at risk and the possibility of gays in the Boy Scouts presents a “danger to our way of life” as the change will destroy moral values, religious freedom and the American spirit: “Our courts and our ‘leaders’ are caving in, surrendering to ‘political correctness’ and abandoning, not just now but perhaps for our kids’ future, all of the moral guidelines, the DNA that made America who we are.”
America, WAKE UP! Things are happening right in front of our noses, and we don’t seem to grasp their significance, their danger to our way of life!
Get this: Just five days ago, Robert Gates, former director of the CIA and former secretary of defense, and now president of the Boy Scouts of America, made a declaration to the assembled executives of that wonderful, time-honored youth organization.
“We must deal with the world as it is, not as we might wish it to be.”
And what was he talking about? “The cascading events, the incessant discrimination lawsuits, and the impending Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage” had led him to conclude that the hallowed rules that define the whole Scouting program “cannot be sustained.”
Think about it. Although the Boy Scouts officially began in 1909, and the Girl Scouts a year later, as a voluntary, nonprofit, non-governmental organization, dedicated by oath and internal law to honor and morality and “duty to God and country,” this man who personally directed our national defense and investigative agencies is advocating surrender of the Scouts’ founding principles to the encroaching, virulent campaign of militant homosexual activists!
Dear God, Bob Gates, what are you thinking?
Is this how you see “the world as it is”? Has the United States of America become so weak, so lost, so unable to defend our very moral underpinnings, our national DNA, our constitutional defenses and rights, that we must cave in to relentless pressure on Scouting to embrace homosexuality, not just in boys and girls enrolled in Scouting but in the leaders who will be lasting influences on their young, trusting lives?
Bob, I know you’re a good man faced with tough decisions. You want to be fair and compassionate and still keep the Scouts what they were created to be. Right? You only signed on for two years as president; you don’t want to leave Scouting permanently marred, totally changed into something the founders would be appalled by – and that will inevitably bring about the collapse and demise of Scouting itself.
Bob, dear Bob, the real issue is far deeper and more pervasive than just what you propose for Scouting. Our whole society, our very way of life, is on the line. Are we just to totally succumb to “the world as it is” and not continue to try to make it “what we wish it to be”? Do we just “give up” and become a pot-ridden populace, with all the mounting consequences? Do we just cave in to abortion advocates, who already account for a million or more infant deaths a year, here in the land of the brave and home of the free? Do you endorse the decisions of our president and former attorney general not to enforce immigration laws on our books?
Do you side with those who want to remove God’s name from all public life, prayer from schools, even “under God” from our Pledge of Allegiance?
In 1954, Special Counsel Joseph Welch confronted Sen. Joe McCarthy: “At long last, have you left no sense of decency? No sense of decency?”
On issue after issue, Bob, our courts and our “leaders” are caving in, surrendering to “political correctness” and abandoning, not just now but perhaps for our kids’ future, all of the moral guidelines, the DNA that made America who we are.
Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore spoke with Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on Friday about his belief that states should “resist” a potential Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality, saying that Congress and the states should simply defy a court decision they disagree with by stating “that there is no right to redefine marriage” in the U.S. Constitution.
“We have justices on the Supreme Court right now who have actually performed same-sex marriages, Ginsburg and Kagan,” Moore continued. “Congress should do something about this.”
He said that if Justice Ginsburg does not recuse herself from the case, then Congress should commence impeachment proceedings.
“This is undermining the rule of law in our country and ushers in an age of chaos,” Perkins added.
Fortunately for us, Monckton goes on to answer this question: Yes, yes they are!
Monckton claims that by supporting gay rights and climate science, President Obama and liberals are leading to countless deaths and pushing lies on the public.
“The charitable conclusion is that they are of the devil, that they are under the controlling influence of the father of lies, that they are his unwitting or unwilling mouthpieces,” Monckton writes. “For if that be not the case, Mr. Obama and others like him who utter the wicked falsehoods on the basis of which they promote such fatal abominations as ‘gay’ ‘marriage’ and ‘catastrophic’ ‘manmade’ ‘global’ ‘warming’ are deliberately, willfully telling lies – lies that kill.”
One who is “of the devil,” therefore, is one who is by nature and habit deceitful, because there is no truth in him.
Now, it has become apparent that the global totalitarian hard left, led by Mr. Obama, no longer make any pretense of speaking the truth about any of its favorite political topics.
Two of these topics are currently in the news: so-called “gay” so-called “marriage,” for which the once-Christian people of Ireland have recently and shamefully voted, and so-called “catastrophic” so-called “manmade” so-called “global” so-called “warming,” about which Mr. Obama last week preached a whining, heavily touted and in every material respect deceitful commencement sermon to Coast Guard cadets.
Even the names of these two topics are lies. There is nothing in the least bit merry about homosexuality, and marriage is by definition the union of a man and a woman, not of two of one or two of the other.
Likewise, there has been no increase in the planet’s average temperature for 18 years and five months; the rate of warming since we first might have influenced it in 1950 is far from catastrophic; no one knows what fraction of it is manmade; and it is not global, for – to take one example – there has been no warming of the Antarctic continent since the satellites began measuring temperatures there in 1979.
Why does speaking the truth about political subjects such as these matter? The reason is that the lies do real harm. They kill people.
The hard left is the first to wax lyrical about the evil tobacco corporations that tried to pretend smoking is not dangerous. Yet they are tellingly silent about the fact that the “gay” deathstyle of which they are the chief political advocates is every bit as dangerous as smoking.
So much more politically “correct,” perhaps, just to let them infect and kill each other. Well, like it or not, that is not the Christian way. We should warn people fairly of the danger of promiscuous homosexuality, just as we warn smokers, so that they understand what they are letting themselves in for. Then, and only then, can they make a mature, informed choice.
What, you may ask, is all this to do with “global” “warming”? Well, one of the most frequent of the lying smears of the princes of deceit on the extreme left is to compare those of us who speak out against the monstrous exaggerations and outright falsehoods of the promoters and advocates of “catastrophic” “anthropogenic” “global” “warming” with the paid shills for the tobacco corporations who, for decades, tried to suppress or belittle the evidence that smoking kills.
With that background, let us address the question of whether Mr. Obama and the “gay”-promoting, catastrophist hard left are, to use St. John’s phrase, “of the devil.”
The charitable conclusion is that they are of the devil, that they are under the controlling influence of the father of lies, that they are his unwitting or unwilling mouthpieces.
For if that be not the case, Mr. Obama and others like him who utter the wicked falsehoods on the basis of which they promote such fatal abominations as “gay” “marriage” and “catastrophic” “manmade” “global” “warming” are deliberately, willfully telling lies – lies that kill.
On the evidence, they are certainly not telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So far are they from the truth, so many are the deaths their interminable and often gross lies cause, that it is surely kinder to grant them the Hitler defense – that they are not in control of themselves either because they are collectively mad or because they are individually of the devil.
On Friday, Anne Graham Lotz appeared on “Trunews” to discuss her “MAYDAY!” prayer alert about the Rapture’s imminent arrival, where she told host Rick Wiles that America’s laws on abortion rights and gay marriage, along with the supposed decision to “abandon Israel,” will usher in divine punishment.
“No nation in human history has ever done this,” she said of gay marriage, alleging that marriage equality “is taking the dust fist and shaking it in God’s face and saying we don’t care, not only do we not agree with this but we’re going to change it, we become our own gods, so to speak.”
Ultimately, Lotz said, God “won’t restrain evil anymore” and “the evil just comes pouring in, which is what we’re seeing in Baltimore and Ferguson and some of these other places, it’s anarchy.”
Wiles, for his part, said that a “horrific calamity” is due to hit America, telling listeners: “I no longer warn of impending danger, I am now preparing to survive it; it is coming and it is coming very soon. I have never witnessed in real-time a nation committing suicide.”
“We’re riding on the crazy train,” Wiles said, predicting that the U.S. will be “conquered by invading hordes of warriors” and “our grandchildren will speak Mandarin or Russian.
