RWW’s Paranoia-Rama takes a look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories from the Right.
There are a lot of problems in America today, and as we all know they are a result of Disney’s “pro-homosexual” agenda, Common Core and ancient Egyptian curses.
5. America Was Cursed By Ancient Egyptians
Did you know that ancient, Baal-worshiping Egyptians came to North America long ago and put the continent under a demonic curse? Well you do now! Just let pastor John Benefiel, who helped Gov. Rick Perry organize his The Response prayer rally, explain:
4. Gay Men Will Turn Women Into Slaves
Anti-gay activist and self-published gay erotic fiction author Robert Oscar Lopez is out with a new warning about gay men planning to turn surrogate mothers into their slaves, which he believes is all part of their sexist approach to women.
“Gestational surrogacy is a dream come true for woman-hating chauvinists who are bound to congregate under such an umbrella: men enjoy all the 'phallic' privilege that the bourgeois patriarchy can provide, and women are put in their place,” Lopez writes in his bizarre post on The American Thinker.
“For some time I have pointed out that the 13th and 14th Amendments are separated by only three years, and therefore the gay marriage proponents ought not to be able to cite the 14th Amendment without addressing the fact that champions of dad-only families seem to clash openly with what’s stated in the 13th against slavery.”
3. Send Common Core Proponents To Hell
As Alabama lawmakers debate the future of implementing Common Core standards, one Tea Party leader told members of the State Senate’s Education Committee that those who vote in favor of Common Core are putting their eternal souls at risk.
Tea Party activist Mia Raven warned that Common Core promotes an “anti-Christian, anti-Catholic and anti-American” curriculum that “include[s] far-left proposals such as acceptance of homosexuality, alternate lifestyles, radical feminism, abortion, illegal immigration and the redistribution of wealth.”
“We don’t want our children to lose their innocence, beginning in preschool or kindergarten, told that homosexuality is okay and should be experienced at an early age and that same-sex marriages are okay,” he said. “Do you want this on your record when you come to the End of Days, knowing the Master Teacher said, ‘As much as you’ve done to the little ones, you’ve done it unto me’?”
2. Stop Persecuting Ben Carson!
Ben Carson has made a career out of delivering speeches attacking President Obama, an impressive feat considering that he’s lost his freedom of speech and is facing Nazi-like persecution. After his speech at CPAC where he warned that the “PC Police” are trying to “shut me up,” Carson told Breitbart News that the United States government is now “very much like Nazi Germany” and that political correctness is “creating a horrible schism that will destroy our nation.” In a separate interview with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, he said that he is losing his First Amendment rights.
Somehow, he continues to keep giving all these interviews and speeches even though he insists that he is losing his right to speak, and will probably continue doing so as long as conservative audiences keep buying his absurd claims and Nazi analogies.
1. ‘Frozen’ Turns Kids Gay
Colorado-based pastor and Religious Right activist Kevin Swanson is warning parents that the hit Disney movie Frozen is actually a demonically-inspired attempt to make their children gay.
Swanson, who has suggested that the death penalty is an appropriate punishment for homosexuality, said that he knows Frozen is turning kids gay because he is most certainly “not a tinfoil hat conspiratorialist.”
During an interview yesterday with WorldNetDaily’s Radio America, Gun Owners of America head Larry Pratt said that “the revolt is underway” against Connecticut’s bipartisan gun safety laws. He added that his group is encouraging gun owners and police officers to refuse to comply with or enforce the law, and is supporting primary challengers to “RINOs” in the Connecticut state legislature who backed the new laws.
Pratt, who recently claimed that politicians should have a “healthy fear” of being shot, said later in the interview that people are “prepared to go to jail” to resist the gun safety regulations. “If you get so many tens of thousands of people saying that [they won’t comply], it becomes rather difficult to imagine how that can happen, especially if there aren’t any police around to arrest them in the beginning,” he said.
Pratt, who has links to white supremacists and is an apartheid apologist, even compared such gun activists to Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks: “I think it’s an American’s right to exercise his conscience, he has to be prepared to take the consequences. Just like Martin Luther King, he exercised his conscience, and Mrs. Parks sat down right in the front of the bus, now she was taken off the bus and escorted away and I think she was put in jail for a bit, so she was prepared to take the consequences. But she had decided ‘no more,’ and the people of Connecticut I think are in the same frame of mind.”
Over the past week in New Hampshire, in efforts supported by People For the American Way activists, 31 towns have passed resolutions calling for a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court’s decisions in Citizens United and related cases. In the coming week, at least 20 more towns will vote on their own resolutions. If this week’s victories are any indication, we will likely see a strong majority of the 20 succeed.
These votes demonstrate the strength of the nation’s growing movement to amend the Constitution and take back our democracy. So far 16 states and over 500 municipalities have called for an amendment. The movement is particularly strong in New Hampshire, where nearly 70% of people support a constitutional amendment that limits campaign contributions and spending. This winter, over 100 residents marched across the state in support of campaign finance reform for the New Hampshire Rebellion campaign.
The Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United v. FEC (2010) opened the floodgates to corporate and special interest spending in our elections. Since Citizens United, activists and advocacy organizations have been mobilizing across the country calling for an amendment to overturn the decision, its progeny, and the cases that led to it. To learn more about the campaign, visit wwww.UnitedForThePeople.org and People For the American Way’s amendment toolkit.
When David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network interviewed Gov. Chris Christie at CPAC last week, did he ask about the bridge closure and political corruption scandals that are engulfing his administration? Of course not! Instead, Brody may have given the embattled governor one of the easiest interviews ever.
Brody kicked off the interview by asking Christie to describe his “strong conservative record” against the perception that he’s a moderate: “You just said right out there that the media loves to define us, conservatives, so tell me a little bit about – they’ve been trying to define you. Here you are with this strong conservative record, yet it’s the ‘moderate Chris Christie’ and all, what do you make of all of this?”
Christie said that “the media [is] continuing to try to put forward a myth” that he is a moderate, citing his anti-choice stance.
The CBN host then asked him the hardball question of whether he enjoyed speaking at CPAC, followed by whether President Obama should receive a grade of D or D+.
Brody then hailed Christie as a “straight shooter” and drove the interview home by asking Christie how Republicans can “capture the White House” and what he thinks of the New York Mets’ prospects next season.
UPDATE: Even though Austin Ruse spent yesterday’s broadcast insisting that wouldn’t back down from his comments that left-wing professors should be “taken out and shot” because he wasn’t serious and his critics are all “dumb” “pajama boys,” today he told Talking Points Memo that he is now sorry: “I deeply regret and apologize for using the expression 'taken out and shot' on the Sandy Rios Show this week. It was not intended to be taken literally. I have dedicated my life and career to ending violence. I regret that these poorly chosen words are being used to attack my friends at American Family Radio and American Family Association.”
Austin Ruse, who regularly filled in as a guest host for American Family Radio’s Sandy Rios, has lost his gig after we reported Wednesday on his call for liberal professors to be “taken out and shot.” Ruse is a leading Religious Right activist who heads the Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute (C-Fam) and is a writer for conservative outlets such as Breitbart News and The Daily Caller.
The day after we posted the audio, Ruse lashed out at Right Wing Watch and defended his comments, which you can listen to here:
Yesterday, Ruse deactivated his Twitter account “due to leftist swarm” and the American Family Association, which runs American Family Radio, removed audio episodes of the Wednesday and Thursday broadcasts from its website. On today’s edition of Sandy Rios In The Morning, AFR host Dan Celia filled in.
On its Facebook page today, AFR said that Ruse “is no longer on the air with us and will not be filling in on AFR in the future.”
The group also said, “AFR condemns such comments, no matter who makes them.”
The American Family Association’s decision to break with Ruse is unusual since it claims that its radio show hosts – including Bryan Fischer, who is the group’s own spokesman and hosts AFR’s flagship talk show – do not speak on behalf of the group.
While the AFA cut loose Ruse, who was only a guest host, it appears to have no problem allowing Fischer to continue to serve as the public face of the organization while insisting that his bigoted views should in no way reflect upon the AFA.
UPDATE II: AFR also said his comments were “un-Christian.”
The following is a guest blog from Zane Ballard, a Fellow in affiliate People For the American Way Foundation’s Young People For program.
In spite of the nationwide outcry over Arizona’s SB 1062, the “Turn Away the Gays” bill vetoed by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer last month, some far-right legislators across the country have continued to claim that gay rights present a threat to their religious freedom. In my state of Mississippi, conservative legislators have pushed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (SB 2681), which is similar to the vetoed Arizona law. When the Mississippi State Senate passed SB 2681 on January 31, some senators said they did not even realize its implications. Mississippi Sen. David Blount, for example, said he “was not aware…of this intention or possible result” when he voted – that is, the result of legalizing discrimination.
The version of the bill passed by the Senate would have allowed businesses to deny service to individuals based upon the belief that “state action or an action by any person based on state action shall not burden a person's right to exercise of religion.” It would have allowed broad, almost unchecked discrimination by any business that claimed its “exercise of religion has been burdened or is likely to be burdened” by serving a customer. This could have included refusal to serve LGBT persons, people of color, or those of non-Christian or no faith, all on the basis of an individual exercising their religion.
Yesterday the discriminatory bill faced a major setback when the House voted to replace most of the text of the bill with language establishing a committee to study the issue. The study committee will be examining the bill closely in search of any possible way that the language could be usable without promoting discrimination. But according to the Mississippi ACLU, “Senate Bill 2681 remains a looming threat. The results of the study committee that was established by the amendment that passed the House today may go to conference. If the conference committee reaches an agreement, its report must be approved by both houses by April 2nd.”
In the meantime, advocates on the ground in Mississippi will continue to watch closely as the process unfolds. Last week, I joined students from Mississippi State University and Millsaps College, representatives from Equality Mississippi, and other concerned Mississippians on the steps of the state capitol to demonstrate against the bill. Protestors had also planned to be present during a House Judiciary Committee meeting that day, in hopes that they would be duly represented by those they had elected. However, these concerned Mississippians were unable to sit in on the committee meeting, which ended seven minutes before it was even scheduled to even begin.
Even though the bill has been stalled, the work to keep this discriminatory law off the books continues. The Gulf Coast Lesbian & Gay Community Center in Mississippi has organized an action on the steps of the state capitol for March 26 at 12 pm, to once again draw attention to the bill and to highlight the general lack of protections for LGBT people in our state. In the wake of momentum generated in response to SB 2681, it would not be surprising to see the pro-equality energy of those in the state carrying over into other channels. This could include support for non-discrimination ordinances in cities across Mississippi, or even a statewide piece of legislation preventing discrimination and preserving the real ideal of southern hospitality.
Pastor Michael Milton succeeded the late D. James Kennedy, a founding member of the modern Religious Right movement, as the host of the television show Truth that Transforms, the flagship program of Kennedy’s group Truth In Action Ministries.
In a recent blog post for the group, Milton criticized President Obama’s endorsement of marriage equality as an “extraordinary departure from humanity’s received traditions and biology itself, plus the teachings of the world’s greatest religions and traditions of Western Civilization.”
He warns that “codifying homosexuality into a societal norm is degrading to a people” and leads to “a downward spiral towards judgment.” Milton adds that “manipulative courts or legislatures” pushing gay rights bills are trying to snuff out freedom and jeopardize people’s souls: “The light of the Word will be taken from us. The law will be trampled under. The freedom of the American people is at risk. More than that: our souls are in danger.”
We could not have imagined that Ronald Reagan’s “city on a hill” would ever come to this. Even the current president (and his administration) who is the object of Reverend Owens’ petition, campaigned in 2008 on his belief that marriage was a sacred institution between a man and a woman. Yet a day after North Carolina voters, by an overwhelming majority, passed a constitutional amendment in 2012 protecting the institution of marriage as set out in the Bible, President Obama declared, mysteriously, that his views had “evolved.” The President’s remarkable evolution, which Darwinian scientists would give an arm and a leg to observe in real time, amounted to nothing short of a new set of values allowing for his extraordinary departure from humanity’s received traditions and biology itself, plus the teachings of the world’s greatest religions and traditions of Western Civilization. Now, that is quite an evolution! The problem is, evolution in the scientific world has not been demonstrated and such a claim for evolution in the philosophical world is not to be trusted. We have to believe that (1) the president was insincere, and that he did not believe in the sanctity of marriage in the first place, or (2) he believes in Biblical marriage, but sees no threat to marriage from homosexual relationships sanctioned by the government. Regardless, he has chosen to advance his supposed lux ex tenebris—light out of darkness—at the expense of lux liberates—Light and Liberty. The Bible teaches that codifying homosexuality into a societal norm is degrading to a people (Romans 1:32). It is the opposite of progressive. Such national sin marks a downward spiral towards judgment. In addition, biblical marriage is the law of our land in the vast majority of our states. It is usually overcome, not by the votes of the people, but by manipulative courts or legislatures. This is wrong. The light of the Word will be taken from us. The law will be trampled under. The freedom of the American people is at risk. More than that: our souls are in danger.
The attack on the sanctity of marriage is tantamount to a siege on the city on a hill and is producing a dying of the light. We must pray for broken hearts among our leaders and ask God to forgive us and heal our land. I see no other way out but a God-sent revival. Then will the light that once lit that city on a hill shine again.
The right-wing American Decency Association is out with a new warning that marriage equality will pave the way for the legalization of “polygamy, pedophilia and bestiality” and contributes to a “societal erosion” that will result in an increase in gang membership and beliefs in “the lie of evolution.”
“As a nation we have grown in arrogance and pride, leaving God’s pattern for society – not just marriage – and substituting our own evil design for it. Do we think we can poke our finger in God’s eye without any repercussion?” the group asks. “Our nation, our society is on the edge of destruction; the walls are crumbling as those who see the danger shout out warnings.”
Remember when, as a kid, you’d build a wall with building blocks and then you or someone else would come along and knock it down? The one who knocked it down was usually laughing while the one who built it wasn’t very happy at all. Ah, those were the days.
God has built such a wall. Man has been tearing at this wall and laughing all the while; however, God is not amused. While people want to point fingers of blame in every direction we should stop long enough to recognize that perhaps the finger should really be pointing at us.
Society is made up of building blocks, the most basic of which is the family. God designed what that block should look like, one man and one woman in a covenantal relationship with Himself until death do they part. This is the fundamental building block of society and our nation. As we move away from God’s boundaries for marriage we are knocking down the wall of protection for society and are watching its demise.
Can I tell you that societal erosion started long before this homosexual movement? It started when we allowed “little” changes to the definition of marriage decades ago. When we refuse to honor all parts of God’s definition, why should any part be held as sacred? Remember God’s definition of marriage is this: one man and one woman in a covenantal relationship with God until death do they part. Society and the church started mutilating the definition of marriage by attacking its end, then disposed of the middle part as if irrelevant; so today we see the attack on marriage at its basic blocks, the beginning of God’s definition -- the man and the woman.
God is pushed further out of marriage and society. Schools and gangs became the most stable influences in many a young person’s life. The school indoctrinates on sexuality, false religions and societal norms. Television and its unbiblical influences mold minds of young and old alike until they come to the conclusion that there are no absolute truths - other than the lie of evolution which is taught as truth, and the definition of marriage (and many other words) doesn’t matter. As children watch adults move from one sexual relationship to another they themselves mimick [sic] parents and television believing that sex is free and for everyone with no negative consequence.
One man and one woman: This brings us to the beginning of God’s definition of marriage. Society and church has already removed God completely from the definition; so why should it matter? It matters because to add wrong upon wrong isn’t right. It matters because it’s unnatural and where will all the unnaturalness end? We’ve already seen people make stands for polygamy, pedophilia and bestiality. It’s wrong because we have current laws which are in accordance with the word of God and such laws need to be enforced. It’s wrong because the very fiber of our society is already being torn to shreds and it needs to be mended, not mutilated more.
It’s been wrong since the beginning of time and even from the beginning of this nation. Homosexuality (sodomy) was viewed by George Washington with “abhorrence and detestation.” Noah Webster defined “sodomy” as “a crime against nature.” (To see where other founding fathers stood on the issue click here.) As a nation we have grown in arrogance and pride, leaving God’s pattern for society –not just marriage- and substituting our own evil design for it. Do we think we can poke our finger in God’s eye without any repercussion? Our nation, our society is on the edge of destruction; the walls are crumbling as those who see the danger shout out warnings. These watchmen on the walls are called haters, judgmental, and labeled as “…phobes,” depending on which issue they take a stand for.
John Stemberger, the Religious Right activist who founded Trail Life USA as an anti-gay alternative to the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) said yesterday that gay people are “intolerant,” and that is why he will not “tolerate” them in Trail Life USA or any other youth group.
Stemberger, who also leads the Florida Family Policy Council, told Crosstalk host Jim Schneider that openly, “loud and proud,” gay youth “will not be tolerated in Trail Life USA” and should be barred from “any youth program.”
He also worried that minors increasingly identify as gay, “especially boys that have had abuse in their life, that don’t have a father, that are hearing all of these messages in the culture, ‘are you gay,’ ‘are you bi,’ ‘are you gender curious,’ ‘are you whatever,’ and they hear all that nonsense.” Stemberger added that “we view a same-sex attraction as being very different than this new, sociopolitical construct of ‘gay,’ which is a political movement that is an in-your-face, intolerant, attitude agenda.”
While Stemberger had no problems organizing a defection from the BSA, he said he is outraged by Disney’s move to pull its funding of the BSA because the organization still bars gay people from leadership roles.
He called Disney’s decision proof that gay rights advocates have a “vitriolic spirit” of “intolerance.”
“Disney’s bought into it, Disney is completely a pro-gay agenda,” he said. “ I don’t trust Disney anymore with my kids. The Disney Channel can’t be trusted. If it has ‘Disney’ on it and says it’s for kids you better watch what it is parents because they can no longer be trusted as a family source for entertainment.”
The American Family Association believes that the defeat of “right to discriminate” bills in states like Arizona is ushering in anti-Christian discrimination akin to Jim Crow, warning: “Christians, please move to the back of the bus.”
On Tuesday, the group posted a letter by AFA head Tim Wildmon, which warns that the “Gay Gestapo” is “using the law to punitively enforce their political and social agenda.” They also included a poll asking which organization —Southern Poverty Law Center, American Humanist Association, Human Rights Campaign, or Freedom From Religion Foundation — “poses the greatest threat to religious liberty in America today.”
Dr. John Morris of the Institute for Creation Research explains that sickle cell anemia, a blood disorder that affords a selective advantage against malarial infection, demonstrates that evolution, unlike Creationism, is fundamentally flawed.
“Evolution says that beneficial mutations have occurred trillions of times, but their best example is the fatal disease,” John Morris said in a radio bulletin today. “The point is, they’re grasping at straws; the Creation story, like we’re told back in Genesis, it’s much more credible.”
Let PBS explain how this case actually proves that evolution occurs:
A gene known as HbS was the center of a medical and evolutionary detective story that began in the middle 1940s in Africa. Doctors noticed that patients who had sickle cell anemia, a serious hereditary blood disease, were more likely to survive malaria, a disease which kills some 1.2 million people every year. What was puzzling was why sickle cell anemia was so prevalent in some African populations.
Researchers found that the sickle cell gene is especially prevalent in areas of Africa hard-hit by malaria. In some regions, as much as 40 percent of the population carries at least one HbS gene.
It turns out that, in these areas, HbS carriers have been naturally selected, because the trait confers some resistance to malaria. Their red blood cells, containing some abnormal hemoglobin, tend to sickle when they are infected by the malaria parasite. Those infected cells flow through the spleen, which culls them out because of their sickle shape -- and the parasite is eliminated along with them.
Scientists believe the sickle cell gene appeared and disappeared in the population several times, but became permanently established after a particularly vicious form of malaria jumped from animals to humans in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
In areas where the sickle cell gene is common, the immunity conferred has become a selective advantage. Unfortunately, it is also a disadvantage because the chances of being born with sickle cell anemia are relatively high.
For parents who each carry the sickle cell trait, the chance that their child will also have the trait -- and be immune to malaria -- is 50 percent. There is a 25 percent chance that the child will have neither sickle cell anemia nor the trait which enables immunity to malaria. Finally, the chances that their child will have two copies of the gene, and therefore sickle cell anemia, is also 25 percent. This situation is a stark example of genetic compromise, or an evolutionary "trade-off."
In an interview Tuesday with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke warned that a federal assault weapons ban could spark “the second coming of an American Revolution, the likes of which would make the first revolution pale by comparison."
Jones told Clarke that he had talked to “a lot of analysts” who “think that the Obama-Marxist types want to start a civil war in this country.”
“They’ve got to know what will happen if they try to confiscate guns,” he said, referring to a federal assault weapons ban.
Clarke responded that such a ban would be an “act of tyranny.”
“I believe that if somebody tried to enforce something of that magnitude, you would see the second coming of an American Revolution, the likes of which would make the first revolution pale by comparison,” he said.
The national gun confiscation they are referring to is totally hypothetical: The proposed 2012 renewal of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban would have allowed people who owned restricted weapons before the enactment of the ban to keep them.
Austin Ruse is upset that we reported on comments he made yesterday on Sandy Rios In The Morning, the American Family Association radio program he is guest hosting, where he said that “the hard left, human-hating people that run modern universities,” especially the women’s studies departments, “should all be taken out and shot.” Ruse, who heads the Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute (C-Fam), spent yesterday and today lashing out at critics on Twitter, saying liberals are “dumb,” “stupid” and “idiots.”
Ruse started today’s show by explaining that his remarks yesterday weren’t serious and that liberals should “turn to Wikipedia or the Internet, I don’t know if they know how to use the Internet.”
“The pajama boys over at Right Wing Watch have their panties all in a twist about what I said, and I sometimes think that the left is really dumb, these are the low-information voters that make all of these mistakes when they get into the ballot box and all of these mistakes as they go through their lives and one of the reasons is because they are so dumb,” he said.
After calling liberals “dumb” and “pajama boys,” he then criticized them as “smear merchants” who “call [people] names” and want to shut him up.
“These people, these dumb leftists, are really smear merchants, they’re out to hurt, to harm, to isolate,” Ruse said. “They don’t like me, they don’t like you, they don’t like your children, they don’t like anything about you and they want you to basically shut up and go away…. It’s quite astounding what these folks are able to get away with and it’s also astounding how dumb they are.”
Family Research Council president Tony Perkins is troubled by President Obama’s new My Brother’s Keeper Initiative, which encourages communities to partner “with local businesses and foundations to connect” boys and young men of color “to mentoring, support networks, and skills they need to find a good job or go to college and work their way up into the middle class.”
Perkins fears that the program is actually all about growing the size of government and, of course, opposes it simply because President Obama is involved. “The President’s liberal agenda of abortion, promiscuity, and same-sex marriage hasn’t fixed the problems, it’s exacerbated them,” he said.
Fortunately for President Obama, there is one job where his approval ratings are soaring: fatherhood. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. Like almost half of all kids today, having a father at home was a luxury Barack Obama didn't enjoy. And last week, he launched a new program to spare other kids the same issues. To fight the crime and poverty that comes with broken families, the President kicked off a program called My Brother's Keeper to help minority boys. And while it's fine for the government to raise awareness about the problem -- it's not fine, or even possible, for the government to be the solution. What these kids need isn't Washington's touch, but a family's. Until now, the President's liberal agenda of abortion, promiscuity, and same-sex marriage hasn't fixed the problems, it's exacerbated them. Focusing on minority kids could have a huge impact on American society -- if the President realizes that marriage, life, and faith are essential ingredients.
William Murray, head of the Religious Freedom Coalition and Government Is Not God PAC, writes in WorldNetDaily today that President Obama and the media have a “hatred for Russia” because “morally and spiritually, Russia today is the nation America was in the 1950s.”
He cites Russia’s harsh anti-abortion laws, ban on gays in the military, the influence of the Russian Orthodox Church in government, and flat tax.
Why do President Obama and the Western media have such hatred for Russia? What is all the Russia bashing really about?
In Russia the clergy are allowed to enter the schools to give instruction in the Bible. Prayer is allowed in the public schools in Russia, as well. It is against the law to sell or give pornographic literature to anyone under the age of 18. Marriage in Russia is allowed only between one man and one woman.
Last year President Putin signed a law outlawing advertisements for abortion. In 2011 Russia passed a law requiring health warnings to women before getting an abortion, and now the Duma is considering outlawing abortions completely unless the mother is in immediate danger of death. (In the old Soviet Union, abortion was the primary means of birth control).
There is no complicated tax code in Russia; they have the kind of flat tax the Republicans have pushed in the U.S. for years. In Russia everyone pays the 13 percent income tax regardless of how much they earn. The year after this flat tax was instituted in 2001, the Russian economy took off like a rocket and tax revenues increased as well. Russia is not a communist country any longer. Russia has as many or maybe even more millionaires than the United States. There is free enterprise; anyone can start a business, and many people do.
In the Russian Army the chaplains are allowed to preach the Gospel and pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Homosexual behavior is not allowed in the Russian military and punishable by court martial. (The U.S. military just held its first officially approved drag queen contest at the Kadena Air Base.)
Why do Barack Obama and the liberal media hate Russia so much but have such love for nations that are anti-Christian and repressive such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia? Morally and spiritually, Russia today is the nation America was in the 1950s.
WorldNetDaily’s Erik Rush writes today that President Obama is backing a “Nazi regime” in Ukraine in hopes that it will lead to a violent conflict with Russia, “which would result in America’s devastation.” Rush’s grand conspiracy involves Ukrainian Nazis, the Muslim Brotherhood and progressives in the US, whom he claims are all united in seeking “the destruction of the entire American system.”
Rush writes that it “is common knowledge in Europe” that Obama is using the crisis in Ukraine “to touch off World War III,” but the American press is hiding Obama’s diabolical plan just as it supposedly covered up “voter fraud” and the administration’s “treason and perhaps murder in the case of the Benghazi attack.”
Rush, who has demanded the execution of administration officials and called for the imprisonment of journalists and anyone who criticizes him, ends the column by arguing that members of the press are “in the dock with President Obama and others in his administration and our government who have committed treason against America and the Constitution.”
“As the despot Obama devastates our economy and incrementally enslaves us, the press continues to prioritize trivialities like climate change and gender identity issues, while obediently paving the way for the odious, toxic witch who believes she is heir apparent to the presidency,” Rush writes. “Should Americans ever reach a level of consciousness sufficient to perceive the crimes of the press, I only hope there will be hell to pay for them as well.”
So, why would an American president – and a black American president at that – support an ascendant 21st-century Nazi regime, considering all of the attendant overtones of racism, fascism and genocide?
The answer lies in the same place as that of why 20th-century Nazis would align themselves with the Japanese and Arab Muslims, or why the American political left would align itself with radical Muslims (who would kill off half of the left’s base if they happened to gain pre-eminence in America): common philosophies and common objectives.
The common philosophy of Hitler’s Nazis, Benito Mussolini’s Italian regime and the Japanese Empire in World War II was fascism. The common objectives of Hitler and Arab Muslims was the eradication of Jews in Europe and the Middle East, respectively. The common objectives of the political left in America today and Islamists is the destruction of the entire American system.
Of course, Obama’s common objective with the Ukrainian opposition – challenging Vladimir Putin – has become worrisome to all concerned. Particularly disturbing to observers such as myself who habitually look beneath the radar is how this plays out relative to Obama’s overall designs. Given the body of clandestine, dark machinations he has brought to bear, more than a few of us fear that his confrontation with Putin may be integral in bringing about a cataclysm beyond the conceptualization of most Americans, one which would result in America’s devastation. This theme has of course been an ongoing advantage to Obama by definition, in that one cannot defend against what one cannot even conceptualize, let alone perceive.
As indicated, all of the above – with the exception of Obama’s possible intention to touch off World War III – is common knowledge in Europe, yet the American press has made no mention of it whatsoever. The reason is obvious: Americans simply would not stand for a government that allied with anything resembling Nazis.
Of course, were Americans generally apprised of any number of things in which the Obama administration has been engaged (such as an administration guilty of treason and perhaps murder in the case of the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012, providing military and economic aid to Islamists in Egypt and Syria, and the Arab Spring; clandestine domestic spying programs, the use of government agencies to persecute private citizens, the insinuation of Muslim Brotherhood operatives into high places in our government, voter fraud and so on), they would be similarly outraged.
All of which puts the press, in my humble opinion, in the dock with President Obama and others in his administration and our government who have committed treason against America and the Constitution. As the despot Obama devastates our economy and incrementally enslaves us, the press continues to prioritize trivialities like climate change and gender identity issues, while obediently paving the way for the odious, toxic witch who believes she is heir apparent to the presidency.
The American people would no more tolerate a press that shielded a government from accountability where such things were concerned than they would the government itself. Should Americans ever reach a level of consciousness sufficient to perceive the crimes of the press, I only hope there will be hell to pay for them as well.
In a speech at the Family Research Council last week, FRC senior fellow Pat Fagan compared a UN report criticizing the Vatican over its handling of sexual abuse cases to Kristallnacht, the spate of violence in which Nazi stormtroopers attacked Jews and destroyed their property while German police turned a blind eye.
Fagan acknowledged that the comparison of the children’s rights committee to Nazi forces and the UN to complicit German authorities was “a bit of an overplay,” but decided to go for it anyway.
“This is just an analogy and I don’t want to take it directly,” he said, “but the first really egregious act that was very public and against the good of people and against the good of the Jews was Kristallnacht in Germany.
“And that was very significant because the police permitted it. And that was the beginning of the end, when those who were there to enforce the law failed to do so and did not protect the citizen from these bullies – more than bullies, murderers.”
“Now, this is not Kristallnacht” he continued, “but it is the breaking of a pretty big window. They didn’t go around smashing all the windows, it’s just that if you think of the Vatican as a shop on Main Street, well, they didn’t break all the windows on Main Street but they went up to the shop and they smashed through the big plate glass window.”
"Now, this is good," he added, "because it is now made very clear what is going on" at the UN.
WASHINGTON – In response to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Diane Feinstein’s historic speech on the Senate floor accusing the Central Intelligence Agency of obstructing congressional oversight and unlawfully searching committee computers, People For the American Way president Michael Keegan released the following statement:
“We applaud Sen. Feinstein for voicing publicly her serious concerns about the CIA’s alleged obstruction of congressional oversight. Congress’s ability to provide oversight for our nation’s intelligence gathering operations isn’t incidental to the work they do—it’s essential. If information was withheld and intimidation tactics were used to deter investigations, this would be a gross abuse of power.
“We depend on Congress’s ability to conduct these investigations in order to protect the separation of powers in our government as well as the fundamental civil liberties guaranteed by our Constitution. We commend Sen. Feinstein for speaking out and calling on the CIA to cooperate rather than obstruct congressional oversight."
