Will Michele Bachmann and Jim DeMint Headline Ex-Gay Pride Month?

Channeling Tobias Fünke, ex-gay activist Christopher Doyle wants everyone to know there are tens of thousands of “former homosexuals.” In an interview with the American Family Association’s OneNewsNow today, Doyle declares July to be “Ex-Gay Pride Month” and laments that the “gay activist lobby” is “discriminating [against] us” by “taking away our rights” to not be gay…or something.

OneNewsNow reports that Rep. Michele Bachmann and Rep. Tim Huelskamp, along with Heritage Foundation head and former senator Jim DeMint and Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel, plan to address a July 31 ex-gay function organized by Doyle and hosted by the Family Research Council.

According to an invitation to the event [PDF], the four are listed as invited but not confirmed speakers. Other invited speakers include anti-gay activists Star Parker and Harry Jackson.

The only confirmed speakers are Doyle; fellow ex-gay activists DL Foster, who has said Dan Savage should be arrested; and Greg Quinlan, who claims gay people practise “sexual cannibalism.”

Former homosexuals will be in Washington later this month to celebrate the first annual "Ex-Gay Pride Month."

Christopher Doyle, co-founder of Voice of the Voiceless (VoV), explains how his group will cap off the month of July.

"What we're going to be doing is former homosexuals, persons with unwanted same-sex attractions and their families and allies are going to be convening on Washington, D.C. on July 31st to send a clear message to the members of Congress that ex-gays are alive; we do exist," Doyle tells OneNewsNow. "There are tens of thousands of us, and we want to be counted."

Homosexual activists try to erase former homosexuals from the scene, contending that people cannot change if they are attracted to the same gender.

"We are tired of the gay activist lobby discriminating [against] us, marginalizing us and taking away our rights, and we're now fighting back, and we're demanding that if gays are going to get full diversity and equality in America, we also demand that ex-gay voices be heard as well," the VoV co-founder details.

He adds that his organization will lobby Congress throughout the day, then hold a dinner and reception with Equality and Justice for All at Family Research Counsel [sic] Action in the evening for attendees. Featured speakers include Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN), former Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver, Congressman Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), and several prominent leaders in the ex-gay and faith communities who celebrate the fact that change is possible.

Renew America: Obama Ushering In The Antichrist and Gay Sharia

Extreme anti-gay columnist Michael Bresciani of Renew America is warning that President Obama is a harbinger of the Antichrist, who will rule over the world with a mix of Sharia law and LGBT rights. In his latest column, Bresciani argues that Obama is part of a long line of evil rulers including Nero and Adolf Hitler, and may be even worse because of his support for same-sex marriage.

Bresciani writes that Obama’s endorsement of marriage equality was the “most defiant, divisive and destructive policy ever presented to any nation in history.”

“The prurient, perverted lifestyle and practices of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender population is the only thing noticeably promoted in the first and second term of Barack Obama,” Bresciani writes. “It is Barack Obama's unique and particular brand of evil, and yet it is being presented as a great win for civil rights.”

After insisting that Obama is “doing everything to prepare the way” for the Antichrist’s future reign, the Renew America columnist wondered if America will soon be governed by Islamic law or become a gaypalooza: “Will it be the free for all of the LGBT with parades and open shows in media and public, or the dark portent of Sharia law where women are entombed in black potato sacks and reduced to the social level of cattle? Will America be a nation ruled by a political party led by Jihadists or a big party put on by the LGBT.”

Every period of time in this world has had its despots, and tyrants who forced their particular brand of evil on those they ruled.

To insult the Jews, Antiochus Epiphanes (Antiochus IV) slew a pig in the most sacred spot in the world for Jewish people, the Holy of Holies.

Herod wanting to please the Romans hoisted up the Roman Eagle over the door of the Temple; which was a clear defilement in the eyes of every Jew.

Later Roman Emperor Nero began killing Christians for sport and to entertain his willing blood thirsty citizens.

Fast forward to modern despots. There are so many we will hone in on the best known. Hitler killed Jews and anyone else who resisted his diabolical Third Reich. Millions died before his twisted schemes could be reined in and Germany brought down to a heap of smoldering rubble.

All successful despots throughout all time have shared one thing in common; they knew that crowd control was not something that you do when everything has gone out of control; it is something you do so it won't ever go out of control. Julius Caesar was known for saying that if you gave people a piece of bread and a spectacle you could do anything you wanted with them.

Enter Barack Obama, unlike any President before him he tosses those with a nanny state mentality a pile of freebies, cuddles up with Hollywood moguls and celebs who keep us titillated and laughing and sits down to dinner with the kings of earth on the taxpayer's dime. His wife flourishes in her role as the queen of America, with TV appearances, worldwide trips and $3,000 per night stays in world-class hotels.

At home DOMA has been dumped due to the dilettante 'evolved' morality of the president and every major guide and tradition has been abandoned for the whims of man with no known accomplishments to his credit and over twenty hidden and never seen documents about his past.

The Bible, the constitution and 6,000 years of human adherence to the laws of nature and common sense regarding marriage have been dumped under the auspices of a single man who has promised a change that is now becoming the most defiant, divisive and destructive policy ever presented to any nation in history.

What contribution has Barack Obama made to American greatness and her way of life on any level? Honesty would convulse if we named any area at all – but one. The prurient, perverted lifestyle and practices of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender population is the only thing noticeably promoted in the first and second term of Barack Obama.

It is Barack Obama's unique and particular brand of evil, and yet it is being presented as a great win for civil rights. It is dragged up and paraded as something akin to the great civil rights struggle of the blacks. At the very least, it is touted as the means by which Obama has streamlined America and brought her into the twenty first century.

The path to a nation's demise and doom has been well catered or pimped depending on your view, but a confetti strewn floor and a few straggling balloons, once the party is over, will hardly be an answer for a nation whose greatness was the most remarkable accomplishment of civil government in the history of the world.

When Obama announced he would not defend DOMA, the courts were weakened and on the fortieth year of the inception of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court made its second worst decision in the nation's history.

The world mocks those who proclaim that antichrist will soon emerge and reign for the last few years of time before the Lord Jesus Christ returns and takes the reins of power away from men. Yet, we have a man said to be the leader of the free world doing everything to prepare the way for such a man.

Yes, the rest of the world is also chomping at the bit to enter the changes that Barack Obama is proposing here in the U.S. To those who understand prophecy that is only proof that the stage is being set for the coming the 'Man of Sin.' (2Th 2: 3)

Will it be the free for all of the LGBT with parades and open shows in media and public, or the dark portent of Sharia law where women are entombed in black potato sacks and reduced to the social level of cattle? Will America be a nation ruled by a political party led by Jihadists or a big party put on by the LGBT. Will the Muslims bring Sharia to Hollywood first to cover up the nudies and thus end the excesses virtually overnight? Which confusion will emerge to take us into the twenty first?

Dobson: Marriage Rulings Will Lead to the Disintegration of Society

On his radio show today, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson discussed the Supreme Court’s marriage equality rulings with Family Research Council president Tony Perkins and Bill Becker, an attorney affiliated with right-wing groups such as the Alliance Defense Fund and the Discovery Institute.

As you could imagine, Dobson was aghast at the decisions, arguing that same-sex marriages “threaten the entire superstructure” of society. “I believe it can come down,” Dobson warned. “This has been devastating. Even if eventually legally we somehow walk it back a bit, I don’t see our ever completely recovering from what has happened here.”

Becker went even further, saying that civilization crumbled the day the court released its rulings: “We’re talking here about the foundation of civilization and I wrote today that I believe we’ve seen the collapse of Western civilization in one day.”

Becker also quoted from Ephesians to suggest that the LGBT rights advocates represent “spiritual forces of evil,” adding that they plan to “indoctrinate” children.

Knight: Split California to Stop Gay 'Jihad'

The American Civil Rights Union’s Robert Knight is calling for Southern California to secede from the rest of the state over marriage equality. Falsely claiming that same-sex marriages are only allowed in the northern part of the state, Knight writes that Southern Californians now have “more incentive to push secession.”

He goes on to warn that the American Civil Liberties Union is “proclaiming jihad” against states that ban same-sex marriage and will receive assistance from “ruling elites, who are determined to refashion America into an updated version of Sodom.”

According to Knight, one of those “elites” is Justice Anthony Kennedy, whom he claims is “the most powerful man in America when it comes to advancing the homosexual agenda” and is responsible for turning the Supreme Court into “the most prominent hate group in the country.”

By accusing backers of traditional marriage of being motivated only by animus against homosexuals, the U.S. Supreme Court has become the most prominent hate group in the country.

It’s hateful to defame people by falsely accusing them of bigotry. If you want to see how it’s done, check out the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has been defaming Christians for years. Or read Justice Anthony M. Kennedy’s majority opinion in U.S. v. Windsor.

Proponents apparently knew the fix was in. The American Civil Liberties Union ran a full-page ad in The Wall Street Journal the next day, proclaiming jihad against the 36 states that aren’t in the “freedom to marry party.” As for the freedom of millions who disagree? Ah, well.

The jihad won’t stop with the same-sex counterfeit. If sexual complementarity is no longer a valid requirement, why should marriage be limited to two people?

Justice Kennedy has emerged as the most powerful man in America when it comes to advancing the homosexual agenda and uprooting Judeo-Christian sexual morality. In 1996, he wrote the Romer v. Evans ruling that struck down Colorado’s voter-approved Amendment Two, which barred inclusion of the amorphous “sexual orientation” in state and local statutes. Clear-headed Coloradans had seen how such a term could be abused to distort civil rights and tried to head it off.

They ran into the buzz saw of a liberal judiciary, topped by Justice Kennedy’s unctuous ruling accusing them of bigotry.

In 2003, Justice Kennedy struck again. Citing junk science and foreign laws, he wrote the majority opinion in Lawrence v. Texas that vacated anti-sodomy laws. It helped that the state’s advocates didn’t bother making a public health case against behavior that still accounts for the bulk of new HIV infections in America and a host of other deadly illnesses. If you keep throwing away aces, don’t expect to win the poker game.

Wednesday’s related Hollingsworth v. Perry, a 5-4 ruling written by Chief Justice John (“I learned to love Obamacare, and you can, too”) G. Roberts Jr., denied standing for defenders of California’s voter-approved Proposition 8 constitutional marriage amendment. Instead of hearing the merits, they punted it back to the court where U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker had struck it down.

By ducking the case, the Supremes managed to put another bullet into marriage, not to mention self-government. The takeaway: Any time an executive branch official disagrees with a constitutionally enacted law or amendment, the law is null and void. This means that governors, like the president, are now more like kings than public servants constrained by constitutional divisions of power.

The concept of self-rule is fast becoming only a speed bump to the ruling elites, who are determined to refashion America into an updated version of Sodom. They will let nothing, certainly not state laws or the U.S. Constitution, get in the way. Judge Walker, who is homosexual and should have recused himself, could find no societal reason for defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman other than “animus” towards homosexuals.

Judge Walker’s ruling applies only to the Northern District of California, leaving the rest of the state’s law intact. This gives Southern Californians more incentive to push secession. For years, sensible Southland folks have wanted not to reside in a state represented in Washington by Rep. Nancy Pelosi or in Sacramento by Gov. Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown.

There would have to be a gerrymander, with Hollywood joining the north, but politicians are good at this.

I hope they can pull it off, but I wonder where the rest of us are going to live when mere belief in the biblical definition of marriage is grounds for civil action and eventually criminal prosecution?

It’s not as if we can trust the courts to give us justice.

Fischer: New Yorker 'Promoting Child Endangerment and Child Abuse' by Having Bert and Ernie In a 'Homosexual Clinch' (VIDEO)

Expanding on his earlier column, American Family Association spokesman lashed out at The New Yorker for putting Bert and Ernie in a “homosexual clinch” on their new cover. “Ladies and gentlemen they are cuddling on a couch, this is a romantic interlude,” he said.

“I don’t know which is which.” After quoting statistics from the very very very discredited Mark Regnerus study about same-sex parenting, Fischer said, “This is grossly irresponsible for The New Yorker to promote this, they really are promoting child endangerment and they are promoting child abuse.”

Swanson Links Gay Kiss and Women Wearing Hats and Pants to Colorado Forest Fires

Last week on Generations Radio, Colorado pastors Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner addressed the forest fires hitting their state. They wondered why God was punishing Colorado with the fires, and specifically targeting the heavily conservative city of Colorado Springs.

The two ultimately determined that the forest fires were linked to the state’s liberal abortion laws and the recent success of civil union legislation. Swanson added that a Denver Post photograph of State House Majority Leader Mark Ferrandino kissing his partner also played a role in inviting God’s wrath.

Buehner: Why Colorado Springs? Understand that Colorado itself is a state that has been begging for God’s judgment. How did we do that? Well, we were the first state to make abortion legal; you could murder your baby as long as it’s in your womb.

Swanson: 1967.

Buehner: Gov. Love, a Republican.

Swanson: Two ironies there, not just one, the man’s name was Gov. Love and he’s responsible for killing more babies than probably anybody in the history of this country because he’s the guy who started it.

Buehner: Our legislative session opened up this year and their very first order of business, their most pressing order of business—

Swanson: They could hardly wait, they could hardly wait.

Buehner: Like the very first day, was to pass a civil union bill, which is an uncivil bill.

Swanson: When you have a state where the House leadership is performing a homosexual act on the front page of the Denver Post two months ago? Does God read the Denver Post? Do you think He picks up a copy of the Denver Post? He gets it. God gets the Denver Post.

Buehner concluded that Coloradans should be glad God “hasn’t destroyed the whole state yet” as “an act of grace.” But why were the fires concentrated in Colorado Springs, Buehner asked, “Why not wipe out Boulder or Denver” where all the Democrats live? He answered his own question: “Judgment begins in the House of God.”

Later, Swanson elaborated on the point, saying that Christians have not done a good of a job resisting cultural trends pushed by television shows and fashion. He described a particularly disturbing plane ride he took back from Australia, in which he was forced to look at other people’s airplane TV sets. “I’ve never seen so many breasts in all of my life,” he reported. “Every form of aberrant sexuality and women’s breasts are shown in front of me almost nonstop for fourteen hours.”

After saying that he was a victim of “oppressive” breast exposure, he criticized young men for “doing the metrosexual thing with the skinny pants and the little fairy shoes” and not growing out their facial hair as God commands. But feminism is also to blame, he said, as too many Christian women have embraced feminist fashions like hats and pantsuits.

Buehner: Colorado is asking for judgment and God is delivering it in little pieces. He is very gracious that He hasn’t destroyed the whole state yet; I think that’s an act of grace. But then the question is: of all of Colorado, why Colorado Springs? I mean, Colorado Springs is the Christian mecca. Why not wipe out Boulder or Denver? I mean those people are in more radical rebellion.

Swanson: Oh yeah, they’re Democrats up there.

Buehner: And the answer is: judgment begins in the House of God.

Swanson: Coming back from Australia, I’m stuck in fourteen hours of these visual presentations, sitcoms and stuff, on seventeen screens in front of me and I’ve never seen so many breasts in all of my life. The immodesty going on in our society is far worse than it was back when Cheers, Family Ties and The Cosby Show was playing. I mean every form of aberrant sexuality and women’s breasts are shown in front of me almost nonstop for fourteen hours. It’s just such an oppressive, horrible, horrible world and so many of our young girls in our Christian churches are running down to Wal-Mart and buying the same clothes. These are the sorts of things that I’m bringing out in front of God’s people, I’m saying: how are we going to repent of the sexual sin that is paraded in front of us in the wider culture? Why do we have to submit to theses sexual sins again and again?

I brought up androgyny and how many young boys are running out and doing the metrosexual thing with the skinny pants and the little fairy shoes. They’re working on the gender blender for themselves and they don’t want to look like a man and God is just so upset, He hates it when man are not manly in their approach. 1 Corinthians 6 speaks about homosexuality and feminine behavior and feminine dress for men. God does not want men to be androgynous and feminine like in their approach; He gave them facial hair for a reason.

These are the sorts of things that I preached yesterday because I said, you could just say, ‘well all of the unisex, homosexual, metrosexual stuff that’s out in the world is so bad but we’re not going to repent of anything, we’re not going to look any different, we’re not going to bear any fruits of repentance in the way that we dress and the way that we interact.’ Then I brought out the whole thing on feminism and how feminism has corrupted our women today. I brought out this quote from Forbes magazine, July 27, 2012:

It’s hard to deny the key role that fashion has played in the women’s movement…Ms. Magazine points to New York City women garment workers in the early 20th century who wore hats to signify that they were earning their own money, and thus financially independent. Women in the 1980s adopted a male style of dress—ties, tailored skirt suits, shoulder pads—in order to gain a foothold in the male dominated world of business. And Carol Moseley Braun, the first African American woman elected to the U.S. Senate, wore a pantsuit on the Senate floor in 1993, ending the Senate’s ban on women wearing slacks there.

My question was: Do you resist feminist trends? Do you argue with it? Do you find ways to oppose it? Or do you just succumb to it and just kowtow to feminism? Dave, I’m afraid this stuff is all over the place in our nice little evangelical, reformed, conservative, fundamentalist churches.

Buehner: Kevin my main text this last Lord’s Day: God is a consuming fire.

Texas State Senator Compares Himself to Jesus, Condemns 'Anarchy' of Pro-Choice 'Mob'

Texas Republican state senator Dan Patrick is not impressed by Wendy Davis. Despite Davis’ all day filibuster of an anti-choice bill, Patrick thinks he is the one that deserves the praise. Patrick, the sponsor of the bill, told Mike Huckabee today that he urged his fellow Republicans to break Senate tradition and stop the filibuster.

He compared his action to Jesus’ criticism of the Pharisees for placing too much importance on “laws and rules.” Patrick went on to encourage other senators to similarly cast off the law, asking, “Are we going to become the modern day Pharisees as Republicans of the Senate?”

Patrick also criticized the crowd that turned out to support Davis, calling it an “organized mob” carrying out an attack on the government. He blamed their behavior on the fact that they were Democrats, because “a tea party would never do this.”

Wendy Davis and the People’s Filibuster in Texas

Guest post from Robin Lane, alumni board member of affiliate People For the American Way Foundation’s Young People For program.

Tuesday afternoon in Austin, I arrived at the Capitol and was swallowed in a sea of orange, ready to support Senator Wendy Davis and her filibuster of Senate Bill 5. Sen. Davis began by reading the testimonies of women who would be affected by SB5, limiting abortion rights in Texas, getting so emotional reading one woman’s story that she struggled to continue speaking through her tears. Senators Watson, Van de Putte, and West helped her buy time. We cheered every time we heard someone say, “Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. President.” The filibuster continued late into the evening.

At 11:30, Sen. Watson had the floor. Sen. West requested that the motion to close the previous question be put into writing, “in as large a font as possible.” I couldn’t breathe. And then, Sen. Van de Putte made the comment that erupted the entire Capitol: “At what point must a female senator raise her hand or her voice to be recognized over her male colleagues?”

Sen. Duncan announced over the noise, “We will have to suspend the vote until the gallery is in order.” The clock ran out. At midnight, the auditorium erupted in cheers. But when all of the Senators remained in front of the podium, the cheers faded. Several news outlets reported that SB5 passed. Conflicting outcomes were coming in droves.

A large crowd from the auditorium raced upstairs into the rotunda and the sight took my breath away – every inch was packed with people chanting. At around 2:15 AM, we heard a text message sent from Sen. Davis to an ally in the rotunda: Senate Bill 5 was officially dead. There was a request to sing, “The Eyes of Texas,” and the Capitol sang together. Someone raised a Texas flag on the rotunda floor. People were crying.

I have never been so proud to call myself a Texan.

Although I didn’t grow up in the Lone Star state, my mother did – and so did my grandmother, and my great-grandfather, and my great-great-grandfather. Texas is in my blood. I came to Texas after leaving the University of Pittsburgh, where I had been organizing for reproductive justice since 2007. I came because I saw so clearly how my issue intersected with the struggles of communities of color, low-income communities, immigrant communities, education justice, LGBTQ rights, environmental justice, and food justice – and I saw Texas as ground-zero for many of these battles. We won the battle, for now, on SB5 – but with Section 4 of the Voting Rights struck down, Texas immediately began advancing a discriminatory redistricting plan. A woman in San Antonio is in deportation proceedings after she took her sick child to the hospital. Senators Cornyn and Cruz continue to fight us on truly inclusive immigration reform. And on Wednesday, Gov. Rick Perry called another special session of the Texas legislature, set for July 1, to act on the sweeping anti-choice proposals.  Yes, we won this battle – but the war continues.

Still, the victory at the Capitol this week inspired me to keep up the difficult work of organizing in the state of Texas – from now until the next election, and beyond.

Huelskamp: DOMA Ruling an Attack on Jesus Christ; Justices Couldn't Pass Law School

After calling on Congress to reconsider the Federal Marriage Amendment and warning that marriage equality will hurt children, Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) appeared on The Steve Deace Show yesterday to once again upbraid the Supreme Court for its marriage equality rulings.

Huelskamp accused the justices of trying to “rewrite the Constitution” and of attacking Jesus Christ himself. “The idea that Jesus Christ himself was degrading and demeaning is what they’ve come down to,” he said.

The congressman agreed with Deace’s charge that the left “has every intention of turning government against the church.” He added that progressive are bent on “ramming their views down the throats of Americans.”

Huelskamp also told Deace that the justices who ruled on DOMA and Prop 8 probably couldn’t have passed law school: “Twisted logic, tortured the Constitution, I can’t even stand to read the decisions because I don’t even think they’d pass law school with decisions like that.”

Franklin Graham: Supreme Court 'Rearranging God's Divine Order'

Franklin Graham released a short statement in response to the Supreme Court’s decisions on DOMA and Prop 8, asserting that there is no right for gays and lesbians to marry since no one is “entitled to rearrange God’s divine order for the universe and its inhabitants.”

“Any person or institution that attempts to redefine [marriage] is ultimately challenging Him,” Franklin writes, adding that the court cannot have any impact on “issues involving God’s laws.”

While I sharply disagree with the Supreme Court's decision on these two marriage cases, when it comes to issues involving God's laws, it doesn't ultimately matter what I or anyone else thinks about a court's ruling. It was God who created and defined marriage, and any person or institution that attempts to redefine it is ultimately challenging Him.

We who call ourselves followers of Christ must strive to love others with the same love He has shown us—even when we have fundamentally different beliefs about such matters as the definition of marriage. I believe that all people are entitled to respect and are within the reach of God's love, but I do not believe any of us is entitled to rearrange God's divine order for the universe and its inhabitants—all of which He created and sent His Son to die for.

Staver: DOMA Decision Akin To Rulings In Favor Of Slavery, Internment and Sterilization

Liberty Counsel’s Mat Staver is continuing to pummel the Supreme Court for its decision on the Defense of Marriage Act, telling talk show host Steve Malzberg on Wednesday that the ruling will be remembered in the same light as the Court’s notorious decisions expanding slavery and denying citizenship to African Americans; approving of the internment of Japanese Americans; and sanctioning forced sterilization.

“I think that this decision represents a line that the court has crossed into illegitimacy,” Staver argued, claiming that the ruling “falls in the same category” as “dark” and “illegitimate decisions” such as Dred Scott v. Sandford, Korematsu v. United States and Buck v. Bell.

“This decision is by five justices that have cut the tether between themselves and the Constitution, they are in their own fantasy world that there is somehow an equal protection right to same-sex marriage,” Staver said.

Mefferd: Gay Rights Led to America's 'Death Throes' and 'Totalitarian' Laws

On Wednesday, Religious Right broadcaster Janet Mefferd didn’t hold back in expressing her outrage over the Supreme Court’s decision to vacate the appeal of the Prop 8 case over standing, calling the court’s ruling “completely insane.”

“If you think this is just an attack on marriage, it isn’t; it’s an attack on your liberty, an attack on the rule of law and it’s an attack on every person in California who went to the polls and legally voted to change the constitution of the state of California,” Mefferd said, “and the Supreme Court basically spat on them today.” Mefferd had a dim view of California: “Look who you have running your state, all these people have done in the California legislature is it’s gay law here and gay law there and gay role models and ban gay reparative therapy for minors…it’s totalitarian.”

But it’s not just California that’s at risk, she explained, as all of America is now in its “death throes.”

“It’s not about love, it’s not about equality, it’s not about civil rights, it’s about absolutely shaking the fist in the face of a Holy God and thinking that you’re going to get away with it,” Mefferd warned. “You really think the United States is going to get away with this? You think we’re going to be thriving three hundred years from now if we just completely tear apart this civilization? Are you kidding me? We are delusional if we think we can survive as a civilization long term.”

Mefferd added that if Americans keep “degrading everything that is good” then “you’re over, it’s over.”

On her Facebook page, Mefferd pointed to a video of a dog burying a dead puppy and called it a metaphor for America’s imminent demise.

African American Ministers in Action Urges House to Pass Common-Sense Immigration Policy

People For the American Way’s African American Ministers in Action (AAMIA), a nationwide alliance of over 1,200 clergy, applauded the Senate passage of a bipartisan immigration policy yesterday.

Minister Leslie Watson Malachi, director of AAMIA, released the following statement.

“Our country must create real solutions for the millions of men, women and families caught up in an outdated and often unjust immigration system. Today’s bipartisan vote was a critical step in the right direction. This bill isn’t perfect, but it represents important progress towards a working, fair immigration system, and most importantly it creates a clear roadmap towards citizenship for those who are vulnerable.

“The Senate passage of The Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013 (S. 744) reflects the hard work and commitment of immigration rights advocates, including many in the faith community. People of faith from across the country, across religious and denominational traditions came together, stood up and fought for the rights of our new American friends, neighbors and families. We know our country is stronger when we respect and embrace the vibrant diversity that makes us who we are.

“Now it is time for the House to act and pass a strong, common sense bill to fix our immigration system. Today’s vote showed that elected officials sent to Washington can work together for the good of our country. For too long, the debate over immigration policy has been dominated by voices of fear and intolerance. We strongly encourage members of both parties to finally listen to the voices of the majority of Americans who recognize the need to create a common-sense, humanitarian, just immigration policy.”

American Decency Association: DOMA Decision Just Like Pearl Harbor

The American Decency Association’s Lisa Van Houten is warning that the Supreme Court’s DOMA decision “will live in infamy” just like Pearl Harbor. Van Houten claims that pastors will “be prosecuted for preaching” against homosexuality and refusing to perform same-sex weddings, people will be “charged with discrimination” if they don’t “embrace homosexuality,” anti-gay groups will lose their non-profit status, and, worst of all, America will face divine punishment.

As we look back on history there are dates which we now see were crossroads, turning points for nations and cultures. July 4, 1776; June 6, 1944. December 7, 1941; January 22, 1973. Battles fought, decisions made – some establishing goodness and justice, others are dates that “will live in infamy.”

I believe today, June 26, 2013, is the latter. A date when the United States Supreme Court ruled in favor of same sex marriage, and undermined true marriage – one man and one woman – which was instituted, not by any government, but by God.

The homosexual agenda cannot and will not abide peaceably alongside the true, biblical institutions of marriage and family as ordained by God. As the homosexual agenda is legitimized – even by the United States Supreme Court - marriage, family, and our religious liberty will be undermined.

Consider the following short list of what may be in our future :

1. Hate crime laws will be increasingly instituted and enforced. Will pastors be prosecuted for preaching what God’s Word says regarding homosexuality and refusing to perform same sex “marriage” ceremonies?

2. Homosexuality will be a protected class by the government. Christian school teachers and administrators, pastors, business owners, etc. could be charged with discrimination if they speak out against or refuse to embrace homosexuality.

3. Organizations such as our own American Decency could easily lose their (c)3 tax-exempt, non-profit status as we continue to call homosexuality what it is - SIN.

4. God will not bless a nation that puts a stamp of approval upon that which he calls an abomination. The evidences of God’s displeasure are evident and becoming more so with each passing day.

We are rapidly coming upon a time when a handful of unelected, increasingly politicized appointees are demonstrating that their allegiance to the U.S. Constitution and to natural law is under question.

However, God’s law supercedes [sic] man’s. As Christians, we must defy man’s law if it requires us to break the law of God.

Santorum: 'Death Knell' of Marriage Approaching

Rick Santorum told NewsmaxTV yesterday that the gay rights victories at the Supreme Court are paving the way for the “death knell” of marriage. The former senator and presidential candidate, who on Wednesday claimed that the Supreme Court’s marriage rulings represent the loss of freedom, maintained that the DOMA decision will allow the Supreme Court “to establish some sort of constitutional right or find that marriage is unconstitutional in its current form. That to me will put the death knell in it.”

But Santorum was optimistic that opposition to marriage equality will grow in the future because people will eventually see same-sex marriages’ deleterious “impact on children, on marriage, on families and on civilization.”

Perkins: SCOTUS Gave Gays Benefits Meant for 'Real Spouses'

The Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins has already called the Supreme Court’s ruling striking down the anti-gay Defense of Marriage Act “absurd,” and warned that it presents “a clear and present danger to the freedom of speech and the freedom of religion in our country” and pushes America further down the road to becoming Sodom and Gomorrah.

In a member email today, Perkins elaborates on his outrage, claiming that the Supreme Court’s DOMA decision means “the landscape has been fundamentally altered in a society where the rule of law is slowly unraveling.” In guaranteeing that legally married same-sex couples are treated as married by the federal government, Perkins writes, the Supreme Court requires the government to provide benefits to married gay couples that “until yesterday, were reserved for real spouses.”

And, of course, Perkins added that we are on our way to legalized polygamy, which he claims is a part of the liberal “agenda.”

That said, the landscape has been fundamentally altered in a society where the rule of law is slowly unraveling. Twelve states can now force taxpayers to supply more than 1,100 benefits which, until yesterday, were reserved for real spouses. And both the court and rogue leaders like Jerry Brown have, in the words of Justice Antonin Scalia, "declared open season on any law that... can be characterized as mean-spirited." In a nation where our own President feels no obligation to defend the law, it's no wonder the Human Rights Campaign thinks it can impose same-sex "marriage" on every state in five years.

When the Left fell short of their goals yesterday, it gave our movement the most valuable commodity of all: time to persuade the country of the consequences. But it also meant that the waves of attack will keep coming -- stronger and more vicious than ever before. Emboldened by Justice Anthony Kennedy's sharp rebuke of our side, liberals aren't even bothering to hide the rest of their agenda. Polygamists popped the corked on a little champagne of their own after Wednesday's rulings, as they wait their turn for nationwide acceptance.

Bauer: Gay Rights Will Lead To 'The Criminalization of Christianity'

After warning that gay rights opponents will be put in jail any day now, last night Gary Bauer told members of his Campaign for Working Families PAC that as a result of the Supreme Court’s marriage rulings “we are headed toward the criminalization of Christianity.”

Bauer suggests “the militant homosexual movement” will have Child Protective Services remove children from homes where the parents teach kids “that God intended them to marry someone of the opposite sex.”

Based on the messages I have received, many of you (and especially our friends in California) seem tempted to give up. Some are asking, "Why should we bother anymore?"

This may be shocking to you, but if we throw up our arms in frustration and surrender the political arena to the left, it will get a whole lot worse. We are headed toward the criminalization of Christianity. Let me explain.

If a family were teaching its children that the KKK is the correct model for society, people would rightly be outraged. If Child Protective Services found out, that family would face the possibility of having its kids taken away for psychological child abuse.

When it comes to same-sex marriage, the militant homosexual movement and its left-wing media allies have, unbelievably, taken the normal view of marriage and equated it with the kind of raw bigotry I just described.

If we stop fighting, in short order you will not be able to teach your children that God intended them to marry someone of the opposite sex.

You may say, "Gary, that will never happen!" That's exactly what folks said about men "marrying" other men just 20 years ago.

As I wrote yesterday, this is about more than just marriage rights. It is not hyperbole to say that religious liberty is at stake. (Pastors, please pay attention!)

It used to be said that homosexuals were coming out of the closet and they wanted to force Christianity in the closet. It's worse than that. If you think I am exaggerating, consider Justice Antonin Scalia's dissent in yesterday's ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act.

In his majority striking down Section 3 of DOMA, Justice Kennedy accuses supporters of normal marriage of harboring an "animus" or hatred of homosexuals. Scalia's dissent suggests that the majority's arrogance betrays its own "animus," one the left is about to unleash on men and women of faith.

PFAW: Will House Republicans Stand With a Far-Right Fringe or Bipartisan Majorities on Immigration?

WASHINGTON – This afternoon a bill to move towards a common-sense immigration policy passed the U.S. Senate with strong bipartisan support.  People For the American Way president Michael Keegan released the following statement:

“In the House, the GOP leadership now faces a choice: enact reasonable and sorely needed immigration policy, or give in to their most extreme fringe and ignore the country’s wellbeing.  While far-right Republican office holders are crowing that the bill will ‘destroy our country,’ the majority of self-identified Republicans – and the majority of the country – supports common-sense reforms.

“GOP leaders claim that they are ready to put aside hateful anti-immigrant rhetoric and start creating real solutions for all Americans. All eyes are now on the House GOP.  Will they stand with the far-right fringe of their party or stand with bipartisan majorities calling for change?”
