Five Crazy Conspiracy Theories About Ebola That Conservatives Actually Believe

As of today, there is only one person undergoing treatment for Ebola in the United States, and only two people have contracted the disease in the U.S., both of whom are healthcare workers who survived.

But the U.S.’s success in fighting the disease at home has not stopped Republican politicians and their allies in the conservative media from turning it into a political issue, warning of an impending massive Ebola outbreak in the U.S. and declaring that when that happens it will be all President Obama’s fault.

Here are five of the most common conspiracy theories that conservative commentators and their Republican allies are pushing about Ebola:

1. Obama Will Bring Ebola To The U.S. Through The Southern Border

Never mind the fact that the countries hit hardest by the Ebola outbreak are all in Africa. Or that there hasn’t been a single case of Ebola in Latin America, let alone among migrants crossing the southern border. Republican politicians aren’t going to waste a good opportunity to gin up vague, unfounded xenophobic fears by claiming that people infected with Ebola are about to cross the southern border. (That is, if they haven’t already!)

Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga., said in July that he had heard “reports” of undocumented immigrants infected with the Ebola virus coming into the U.S. through the southern border. When asked about these “reports” by journalists, Gingrey admitted that they did not actually exist. Indiana GOP Rep. Todd Rokita similarly warned that undocumented minors from Central America could represent a threat “from a public-health standpoint, with Ebola circulating and everything else.”

This month, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., warned conspiracy theorist Glenn Beck about the prospect of the Ebola virus jumping the southern border, and in another interview speculated that Obama’s policies may cause thousands of U.S. troops to contract Ebola.

Thom Tillis, the North Carolina House speaker challenging Democratic U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan, said his plan to deal with Ebola is “to seal the border and secure it,” while Sen. Pat Roberts, the Kansas Republican locked in a tight re-election race, cited Ebola as a major reason why “we have to secure the border and we cannot have amnesty.”

Mike Huckabee warned his Fox News audience that people with Ebola will begin to fly from West Africa to Mexico in order to sneak into the U.S.: “If someone with Ebola really wants to come to the U.S., just get to Mexico and walk right in."

Former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown, who is now running for Senate in New Hampshire, said that America’s “porous” southern border will let people with Ebola just “walk across it.” He later claimed that “if Mitt [Romney] was the president right now,” then he could “guarantee you we would not be worrying about Ebola right now.”

2. Obama Will Bring Ebola To The U.S . In Order To Impose Martial Law

Naturally, the White House “orchestrated” the Ebola epidemic in West Africa to justify its Big Government agenda, according to several conservative commentators and at least one actual member of Congress.

Rep. Steve Stockman, Republican of Texas, said this month that Obama has laid the groundwork to use “emergency powers to take over control of the economy and everything” and speculated that the president might intentionally slow the government response to Ebola in order to create a crisis situation that he could then exploit:

Their terminology is there’s always a crisis which they want to use to their benefit, I would not be surprised that the reason that you see a lack of response is so that it becomes a real crisis and things can be used to correct the crisis, you know. It’s just bizarre there’s not enough action up front and I’m wondering if that’s — I’m not saying this — but I’m wondering if that’s intentional in order to create a greater crisis to use it as a blunt force to say, well in order to solve this crisis we’re going to have to take control of the economy and individuals and so forth. I don’t know. It’s just a strange non-response, a strange way of handling it and I think that if it does go forward and we do not control it, there may be an overreaction where the government starts taking away the rights of those that aren’t that necessarily involved or need that to happen. I hope that’s not that case but as you know this current government uses crisis to advance their philosophy and their agenda.

Laurie Roth, a conservative talk show host, predicted that Obama would “create a guise to declare martial law due to created outbreaks” and introduce a fake Ebola vaccine that would “act as a tracker.”

Another radio broadcaster, Rick Wiles, feared that Obama would use Ebola to “round up patriots,” shutter churches and set up “re-education camps.”

The conspiracy theorists of WorldNetDaily are sounding similar themes.

Erik Rush, a columnist for the conservative media outlet, wondered if Obama administration officials actually “want Ebola to spread in the United States,” creating a crisis “orchestrated by the White House in order to ultimately ‘legitimize’ a declaration of martial law in America.”

Mychal Massie also took to WorldNetDaily to suggest that Obama will manufacture an Ebola crisis in order to achieve his goal of cancelling the 2016 elections and staying in office indefinitely.

WorldNetDaily’s Morgan Brittany claimed that the government is showing “no urgency to stop the disease from entering the U.S.,” which she said betrays the administration’s intention to make use of its non-existent FEMA coffins, declare martial law and seize guns.

“Questions were then brought up about the stockpiling of ammunition and weapons by Homeland Security over the past couple of years and the $1 billion worth of disposable FEMA coffins supposedly stored in Georgia. Why was there preparation being made for FEMA camps to house people in isolation?” Brittany wondered. “My fear is that this has all been orchestrated from the very beginning. Who knows? Maybe the current administration needs this to happen so martial law can be declared, guns can be seized and the populace can be controlled. Once that happens … game over.”

3. Obama Will Bring Ebola Outbreak To The U.S. To Help His ‘African Brothers’

Conservatives frequently insist that none of their criticism of Obama has anything to do with race, and more than a handful have claimed that the president’s handling of the Ebola outbreak proves that he is the real racist.

Conservative columnist and Judicial Watch founder Larry Klayman cited Obama’s response to the Ebola outbreak as proof that he favors “his African brothers, putting the interests of fellow blacks, with whom he feels a kinship, ahead of others.”

“Obama has favored his African brothers over the rest of us by allowing them free entry into this country,” Klayman wrote in another column. “As a result, Ebola has now been introduced into the United States, may be on the verge of spreading rapidly, with the end result being potential massive death to our citizenry.”

“Regrettably our Muslim commander in chief has favored his own creed over the rest of us,” he added.

Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly also claimed that Obama is “letting these diseased people into this country to infect our own people” in order to make the U.S. more like Africa.

“Obama doesn’t want America to believe that we’re exceptional,” she wrote. “He wants us to be just like everybody else, and if Africa is suffering from Ebola, we ought to join the group and be suffering from it, too. That’s his attitude.”

Rush Limbaugh argued that “leftist” elected officials believe that Ebola “is ultimately traced back to us; because of our slavery, we kind of deserve a little bit of this.”

Not to be outdone, Laura Ingraham maintained that Obama’s “familial connection to Africa” and “core ties to the African continent” are shaping the president’s response to Ebola to the detriment to the U.S.

4. Obama Will Bring Ebola Outbreak To The U.S. Because He Hates America

Public health experts have consistently said that knee-jerk reactions like stopping travel from West Africa and quarantining healthcare workers will do nothing to lessen the Ebola risk in America (and may in fact make it worse), and that the best way for the United States to protect itself from the disease is to help fight it at its source in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

But we all know not to trust scientists!

Republican politicians and conservative commentators have expressed outrage that President Obama has put resources into fighting Ebola in West Africa and is ignoring their calls for counterproductive flight bans and quarantines. They remind us that the president is, after all, an anti-American radical so everything he does should be held in suspicion.

Fox News commentator Keith Ablow speculated this month that “the president may literally believe we should suffer along with less fortunate nations,” arguing that Obama wants Americans to experience an Ebola epidemic out of a sense of “fairness” since he thinks the American people have “been a scourge on the face of the Earth.”

“We don’t have a president who has the American people as his primary interest,” Ablow said. “We’re not even voting for somebody who likes us. This guy, who has names very similar to two of our archenemies, Osama, well, Obama. And Hussein. Hussein.”

The American Family Association's Bryan Fischer said recently that he was just asking the question whether Obama wants to “punish” America with Ebola: “It looks like he actually wants Ebola to come to the United States. Why would he want that? Well, remember President Obama thinks that this country is racist to its core, it’s been racist since the beginning, it’s an evil, colonial force that’s been the root of all kinds of evil all around the world, it needs to be punished, it needs to be brought down to size, it needs to be disciplined.”

Conservative talk show host Michael Savage suggested that Obama “wants to infect the nation with Ebola,” insisting that Obama’s handling of Ebola “rises to levels of treason, it actually exceeds any level of treason I’ve ever season.”

“Obama wants equality and he wants fairness and it’s only fair that America have a nice epidemic or two or three or four in order to really feel what it’s like to be in the Third World. You have to look at it from the point of view of a leftist,” he added.

Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, also posited that Obama and other Democratic officials say “don’t quarantine, let’s don’t close our borders” because they “feel like we want everyone to feel included” and “don’t want anybody to feel like they’re being left out.”

Glenn Beck speculated that Obama may be allowing the disease to take hold in conservative parts of the country, telling Fox News host Bill O’Reilly earlier this month that the president was ignoring the cases of two nurses who contracted Ebola in Dallas, perhaps because the city “doesn’t particularly care for the president.”

If this were happening in Washington, D.C., right now, do you think the President and his administration would be acting like this? Do you think the Congress would be acting like this? This is happening in Dallas, Texas, this is a top-ten city in the United States of America. Happens to be one that doesn’t particularly care for the president all that much and his policies, one that the president has not been too favorable on. We are already being squeezed on our southern border, now we’re being squeezed by Ebola. Is there an agenda here? Is that possibly the reason, because I can’t figure out any other reason.

5. Ebola Is God’s Judgment On America (Especially Obama)

Of course, several Religious Right figures are responding to the Ebola epidemic by suggesting that it is divine punishment on America.

The televangelist John Hagee said this month that Ebola is a sign of God’s disapproval of Obama’s foreign policy in the Mideast.

“Our president is dead-set on dividing Jerusalem. God is watching and he will bring America into judgment,” he said, and as a result “we are now experiencing the crisis of Ebola.”

Ron Baity, a North Carolina pastor who worked with the Family Research Council and other anti-gay groups to pass a marriage equality ban, blamed Ebola on the gay community.

“We are bringing the judgment of God on this nation,” Baity said. “As sure as Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed, don’t be surprised at the plagues, don’t be surprised at the judgment of God. You think Ebola is bad now? Just wait.”

“Trunews” host Rick Wiles also linked Ebola to homosexuality, but had a slightly different view. As Wiles explained, “Ebola could solve America’s problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography and abortion.”

Religious Right Pundit: Marriage Equality Paves The Way For Adult-Child Marriages

Anti-gay activist Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Action appeared on Voice of Christian Youth America’s “In Focus” talk show with host Jim Schneider several weeks ago to discuss the implications of recent same-sex marriage rulings across the country, including one in Wisconsin, warning viewers that a “redefinition” of marriage would erode America’s moral compass and lead to the sanctioning and acceptance of other “sexual sins.”

“The nature of sexual sin is, it kind of wraps its cords around you until you become completely identified by it,” she explained. “That’s when the giving up happens, because you become sort of ensnared by it, and it defines the people. And that’s when people are ripe to have their conscience seared, and they are no longer able to distinguish between right and wrong and good and bad.”

Schneider later chimed in with the well-worn slippery slope argument, claiming that same-sex marriage sets a precedent for legalizing pedophilia and polygamy.

“Once you change that which is unchangeable, there’s no limit to how far you can go,” he said. “Multiple partners…what about foursomes? What about an adult who says, ‘I want to marry this underage child. It’s discriminatory — I love this child, this child loves me, why can we not be married, that’s discriminatory.’ The arguments they use…justifying same-sex marriage are the same arguments they’re going to use to justify polygamy, threesomes, adult-child relationships.”

Appling added that the success of the gay rights movement will help groups like NAMBLA.

Pat Robertson: Brittany Maynard Aiding 'Culture Of Death,' Should Ask For A Faith Healing

Today, “The 700 Club” aired a story about Brittany Maynard, a terminally ill woman who has decided to end her own life in Oregon, where doctor-assisted suicide is legal in certain cases.

Following the story, host Pat Robertson lashed out that “the so-called liberals are a culture of death, they want to kill babies, they want to kill the terminally ill, they don’t seem to honor life.”

Robertson said that terminally ill people like Maynard face “pressure” to die and that instead of seeking options for ending their own lives, they should ask for faith healings from people like Robertson.

“She has brain cancer, but brain cancer can get healed, God can heal anything,” said Robertson, who once claimed that he healed a woman of a brain tumor.

Phyllis Schlafly: 'So-Called Kids' Crossing The Border Just Want Welfare

Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly appeared on “Secure Freedom Radio” with Frank Gaffney last week to point the blame at undocumented immigrants for increasing the national debt, overburdening social welfare programs and inciting a health crisis in the United States.

To supposedly remedy these issues, Schlafly called for a moratorium on immigration, arguing that the most recent waves of immigrants aren’t willing enough to integrate into American society. “The American people want the borders closed and we need a pause in our immigration. That’s what happened after the big immigration of the 1920s,” she said. “We had a pause and they all assimilated and they learned English and they learned to adapt to American ways. But the people coming in now, it’s not even clear they want to be Americans.”

She said that she learned from Rep. Michele Bachmann that the border is insecure and that “there’s no fence, they’re bringing in all kinds of disease and Obama’s not doing anything to stop it.”

Schlafly added that “a lot of these so-called kids who are coming in” are “tough cookies.”

Schlafly breathlessly described a scenario in which the knee-jerk dependency of immigrants on federal assistance programs would cripple the economy.

“They’re people who have no understanding or familiarity with the concept of limited government,” she added. “When you let these people in who will immediately go on the welfare system — you know, the Boston bombers came in, went right on the welfare system. That’s the reason for the enormous spending and debt we have, because we keep bringing in people who really can’t support themselves.”

Schlafly brought up her childhood during the Great Depression — arguably an era that saw one of the largest periods of federal government intervention — claiming that Americans were resilient enough to fend for themselves and didn’t need to seek out government aid. “[Immigrants] expect big government to take care of them, to solve their problems, and that’s not the way most Americans think,” she said.

“I grew up during the depression, and we didn’t look to government to solve our problems. And we grew up to be what they called the Greatest Generation.”

Joseph Farah Worries People Are Using 'Out-Of-Context' Bible Verses…To Support Immigrants’ Rights

In a WorldNetDaily column today, the site’s editor Joseph Farah adds his voice to the popular right-wing field of using the Bible to justify harsh anti-immigrant laws.

Criticizing Christian immigrants’ rights supporters for “seizing on one or two out-of-context verses in the Bible” to support their positions (something that Farah would never do!), he contends that the Bible actually supports deporting all undocumented immigrants because God wanted to prevent “global government” and that’s what immigration reform supporters want.

It’s always good when people consider the moral implications of public policy. So the Bible is a good place to start exploring the right and wrong of immigration laws. But seizing on one or two out-of-context verses in the Bible does not make for the kind of comprehensive moral case you would expect of those urging “comprehensive immigration reform.”

The Bible actually has a lot of say about national borders, foreigners, citizenship and the law.

For starters, I challenge anyone to check an exhaustive online or offline concordance for the word “border” or “borders” to get an appreciation of how many times God’s Word references these terms. While not all of them are relevant to our discussion, I count 169 references, most of them making the point that God really cares about them. Is that surprising? He cares about boundaries between nations. In fact, it is God Himself who invented nation-states back in Genesis 11.

Why did He do it?

It seems He scattered the world’s population and created the diverse languages in an effort to subvert man’s efforts to unite in a global kingdom under a false universal religion. Keep in mind, this took place before God created the nation of Israel.

Interestingly, one of the prime motivations of those behind the promotion of borderless societies is this very same notion of regional government and global government and the breakdown of nationalism.

What was wrong at the time of the Tower of Babel remains wrong today. That should be clear to anyone and everyone whose standard of morality is the Bible.

If we want to be compassionate to the strangers and aliens of our world today, those law-abiding foreigners who desperately want to come to America and are patiently awaiting their turn, we need to be certain they don’t get squeezed out unfairly by those who break the law and push ahead of them in line. And we should expect them to fully assimilate into our national culture.

We shouldn’t be mean to those lawbreakers, either. We shouldn’t mistreat them. We should even forgive them. But they have to leave.

They haven’t been invited. They are not our guests. They are not just strangers; they are trespassers. They are victimizing others through their presence – namely American citizens and foreigners who are trying to immigrate to the U.S. legally. They need to go back home and get in line like others waiting to enter our country lawfully. They need to follow the rules.

Dinesh D'Souza: Obama Using Ebola To Act As 'President Of The World'

Conservative pundit Dinesh D’Souza managed to avoid a prison sentence for campaign finance violations, so is now free to continue hawking his new book and spreading his wisdom on current affairs at right-wing outlets such as Newsmax.

Newsmax host Steve Malzberg invited D’Souza on his program today to discuss President Obama’s response to the Ebola epidemic, specifically the president’s comments criticizing the widely-panned decisions in several states to quarantine asymptomatic healthcare providers returning from West Africa.

D’Souza said that while he senses that “there’s something very strange that’s kind of going on here,” he thinks that Obama “probably” isn’t trying to exact “anti-colonial revenge” by starting an Ebola epidemic in America, despite reports to that effect that he had seen on the internet.

“On the other hand,” D’Souza said, “I would be willing to say that here’s a guy that seeks to view things from the global point of view and he doesn’t seem to recognize his special responsibility to American citizens.”

“We elected him, he took an oath to protect and defend our interests. So, enough of this ‘President of the World’ nonsense, it’s time to start protecting American interests, Mr. President!”

Robert Oscar Lopez: Gay Parents Put Kids At Risk By Encouraging Them To 'Dabble In That World'

In an interview with Brad Dacus of the Pacific Justice Institute last month, marriage equality opponent and author of gay erotica Robert Oscar Lopez said that children raised by gay and lesbian parents are “more likely to be bisexual” and “more likely to experiment,” leading them into “a lot of problems that we know statistically are more prevalent in gay social networks than in heterosexual social networks.”

“I have to be realistic that when you enter into homosexual relationships, you’re entering into the gay culture, and that social setting has very high rates of eating disorders and suicidal tendencies, it has very high rates of addictions of all kinds, domestic violence, sexual assault, depression, anxiety, steroid abuse, sexually transmitted diseases,” he said. “There’s a lot of problems that we know statistically are more prevalent in gay social networks than in heterosexual social networks.”

“So I think to the extent that people can avoid it, I think it’s better if you’re not going to be gay over the longer course of your life then there’s really no reason to dabble in that world, because there are social consequences that might hurt you. So, there’s really no reason to experiment,” he said.

Dacus agreed, adding that children of gay and lesbian parents are victims of “this agenda that has now been thrust upon them and they just want to live normal lives.”

Earlier in the interview, Lopez noted with alarm that when he was growing up, most gay and lesbian couples who were raising children had been divorced from their previous spouses, whereas today he sees gay men intentionally breaking up marriages in order to get custody of children.

“There was a clear shift by the 2000s where now gay couples now wanted to go out and adopt or they wanted to get children through sperm banking or through surrogacy contracts,” he said. “And I did come across cases where I know with gay men, they intentionally broke up an existing marriage so they could get together with the husband and then sue for custody of the children.”

“Oh wow,” Dacus gasped.

Diana West: Military's Anti-Ebola Mission Shows 'Development Of A Totalitarian Government Structure'

Conservative columnist Diana West does not approve of the Obama administration’s decision to send U.S. troops to West Africa to help fight the Ebola epidemic at its source by building treatment centers and training medical personnel. In fact, West told Frank Gaffney on “Secure Freedom Radio” last week that the mission shows that the president does not have “an American agenda” and is instead embracing “a totalitarian government structure.”

Gaffney told West that the administration said it would not return service members to the U.S. for treatment if they were to contract the disease — a claim that seems to be based on a Brietbart headline that isn’t backed up by the source it references — while it might bring in some foreign patients for treatment.

“How could they possibly do that with some non-Americans and not enable American citizens in uniform to be returned here?” he asked.

“Well, I think this goes back to the original question which does have to do with the fact that we have leaders with a global agenda, not an American agenda, who have all the power at the moment and certainly act as if they do,” West said.

“It’s exactly this idea that there is nothing special about America or Americans,” she continued. “Another point to get to is the notion of a commander in chief with so little regard for his forces…that he sees them as pawns in a global game of ideological utopia.”

“This is where you start seeing the development of a totalitarian government structure,” she said.

Rick Wiles: Obama Will Threaten Veterans With Ebola, Set Up Ebola 'Re-Education Camps'

End Times broadcaster Rick Wiles was initially excited that “Ebola could solve America’s problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography and abortion,” but now he is predicting that the virus will lead to extreme government oppression.

Yesterday, the “Trunews” host said that “‘Ebola Obama’ will place West African Ebola victims in Veterans Affairs hospitals throughout the United States of America. He’ll contaminate the VA hospitals with the Ebola virus.”

Wiles also warned last week that “Ebola Obama’s swat teams” will force people into “Ebola Barry’s Ebola Recovery and Re-Education Camps,” fearing that “when you are released from the Obama Ebola Recovery and Re-Education Camp you’ll be a zombie, a walking dead.”

Tony Perkins: America Will Never Accept Marriage Equality And 'Oppressive' Gay Rights Agenda

On yesterday’s edition of “Washington Watch,” Family Research Council President Tony Perkins lamented that same-sex marriage “is being forced upon the American people,” insisting that a majority of Americans will never support marriage equality.

Perkins said that just as reproductive rights debates are still contentious because legal abortion “runs contrary to nature,” gay marriage will similarly never be “resolved” until it is banned throughout the nation.

“I don’t care what they do, how oppressive government becomes in order to force this agenda through, they will never force Americans to accept this, the majority of Americans to accept it. Won’t happen,” he said. “Some may go silent, some may be carried away but they will not resolve this issue, trust me.”

Later in the show, Perkins reiterated his support for impeaching President Obama: “If something’s wrong, it’s wrong. Whether or not you can get the conviction that you desire, it’s still wrong and the House has the responsibility and the ability to charge him for this and I think it puts him on notice.”

“This president has systematically seen himself as above the law and I think this has done irreparable damage to the republic and to our form of government,” Perkins said. “Every time we stretch the limits, some of the elasticity goes out. It’s like those gym shorts, when you stretch them out they don’t always go back and I’m afraid that’s what this president is doing, he’s gone and stretched those gym shorts.”

New Spanish-Language Radio Ad Supporting Mark Udall Airs in Colorado

Starting today, a new Spanish-language radio ad supporting Senator Mark Udall will hit the airwaves in Colorado. The ad is part of a NextGen Climate and PFAW Spanish-language campaign to highlight the stark differences between Udall and GOP candidate Cory Gardner on issues important to Latino voters.

The radio ad underscores Udall’s support for immigration reform and environmental protections. It points out that Udall is “the only candidate who supports immigration reform” in the Senate race.

Latinos make up roughly 14 percent of the state’s electorate, and a recent poll of Latino registered occasional voters in Colorado showed that 89 percent are either “almost certain to” or will “probably” vote in the midterms, making this community a critical voice in the tight Senate race. PFAW and NextGen Climate have been working together in the state to engage and turn out Latino voters. The two organizations recently began airing Spanish-language TV ads in Colorado highlighting GOP candidate Cory Gardner’s record of supporting polluters and encouraging voters to cast their ballots for Udall instead.

You can read a transcript of the new radio ad, as well as an English translation, below.

William Gheen: Immigration Will 'Overthrow The American Republic'

William Gheen of the anti-immigrant Americans for Legal Immigration PAC appeared on Newsmax last week, where he declared that those who support immigration reform are either motivated by “simple greed” or want to “overthrow the American republic” by taking “the current stock of Americans” and replacing them with “a population that I guess is more agreeable to their political agendas or worldview.”

“You have an invasion that’s being conducted here by a lot of different actors who have a lot of different types of things to gain, from simple greed and increased profits for their companies and businesses, to others who see this as a way to overthrow the American republic, to take the current stock of Americans, throw us out of our jobs and homes and elections, and replace us with a population that I guess is more agreeable to their political agendas or worldview,” he said.

Pat Robertson: People Don't Live To Be 950 Anymore Because Of Climate Change

Pat Robertson may be a stalwart denier of climate change, but today on “The 700 Club” the televangelist conceded that climate change did occur in biblical times, and that’s why humans no longer live to be 950 years old like Noah, or make it to 969 like Noah’s grandfather Methuselah.

“Apparently, after the Flood there wasn’t as much moisture in the air, there weren’t as many bacteria, microbes and things like that and maybe the climate was such that salts on our bodies weren’t as severe,” he said. “But after the Flood, God said the years of a man is going to be 120 years.”

Maybe you can live even longer if you try one of Pat’s Age-Defying Shakes.

WorldNetDaily: African Americans Worse Off Now Than Under Slavery, Jim Crow

WorldNetDaily columnist Mychal Massie has a message for African Americans that he says most of them “are too blind, dumb and ignorant to understand,” writing today that “blacks are worse off today, morally and spiritually, than at any other time in their history in America.”

According to Massie, affirmative action and the 1964 Civil Rights Act destroyed the black community to the point that African Americans were better off under slavery and Jim Crow.

I argue there is no greater form of racism and bigotry than race-based “affirmative action.” It is promulgated by self-serving neo-Leninist liberals who believe themselves superior and who look upon blacks as being inferior. Their bigotry implies that blacks cannot succeed or accomplish anything worthwhile in life without their help.

Many blacks have ignorantly embraced race-based affirmative action as justified punishment of white people, whom they view as their oppressors. But what these same blacks are blind to is what race-based affirmative action has reduced them to.

Neo-Leninist liberals in their bigoted pomposity have orchestrated a pogrom of such magnitude as to destroy the sense of purpose and sense of true self-worth in the majority of blacks today. Neo-Leninists have successfully blinded many blacks to the importance of their embracing modernity.

Before neo-Leninist liberals decided to foment despair, discord and animosity for the purpose of prostituting immiseration and self-defeatism, blacks not only embraced modernity but they relentlessly pursued it.

At the signing of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, 87 percent of black homes were married, two-parent homes, and 40 percent of blacks were business owners. But 50 years after the signing of the Civil Rights Act, 49 years after the introduction of the Great Society initiatives and 46 years after the introduction of race-based affirmative action, blacks disproportionately represent practically every undesirable category.

But don’t tell blacks that, because the majority are too blind, dumb and ignorant to understand this. There was a time blacks embraced being Americans and the virtues of same; but that mindset has ultimately taken a backseat to the shrill invidious voices of those who preach the vitriolic heterodoxies of Marxism.

In the final analysis, blacks are worse off today, morally and spiritually, than at any other time in their history in America. Over the past 50 years, as other Americans have progressed, blacks as an aggregate have regressed in a horrific way.

Maybe it is time blacks began thinking about embracing the message that has enabled all others to move into the present juxtaposed to the neo-Leninist liberal message of “You can’t make it without our help” that has relegated the minds and spirits of too many blacks to the bottom of life.

Phyllis Schlafly: Immigrants Are Destroying The American Family

Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly is out with a new book called “Who Killed The American Family?” the surprising answer to which is “not just the gays.”

In an interview with the Daily Caller this weekend, Schlafly pointed her finger at one culprit she sees in the death of the family: immigrants.

Immigrants from Latin America, Schlafly told the conservative outlet, “try to tell you they’re very pro-family, but they have a tremendously high illegitimacy rate,” which, she said, causes them to run to “Big Brother” government.

According to Schlafly, one of the most overlooked factors behind the death of the American family is mass immigration.

“I think it’s [immigration] enormous,” the conservative activist told The Daily Caller in reference to mass immigration’s impact on the family.

Schlafly has noticed a disturbing trend among immigrants from Latin American countries that further erodes the traditional family unit. “They try to tell you they’re very pro-family, but they have a tremendously high illegitimacy rate,” she said.

According to the author, this illegitimacy rate leads many to depend on the government for their needs, rather than the family. This makes for weak families in Schlafly’s opinion and diminishes the core values that underlie America.

“When a woman has children without a husband to provide for her, she runs to ‘Big Brother’ government to support her,” she insisted. “There are people who think that they will profit by giving us big government to run our lives. That’s not the American way. That’s not what we wanted. When we started out, we were a country of intact families and we expanded to build the greatest middle-class in the world — prosperous and happy.”

“That seems to be gone now.”

Brad Dacus: Gay Greeting Cards Could Lead Children To Make 'Potentially Deadly Decisions'

In his weekly radio broadcast earlier this month, the Pacific Justice Institute’s Brad Dacus interviewed Randy Sharp, who runs the American Family Association’s programs targeting retail stores and television shows that the group deems too pro-gay or insufficiently celebratory of Christmas.

The two were full of praise for Chick-fil-A and WalMart, but were not so happy with Target. In fact, Dacus told Sharp a harrowing story about a time when his family had been browsing greeting cards at Target and his children had encountered some cards designed for married gay and lesbian couples.

He then decided that he would no longer shop at the chain because he did not want to support this greeting card “propaganda campaign that’s going to lead a lot of young people to make bad decisions, very costly, potentially deadly decisions in their life.”

My wife and kids were in Target and they were looking for some birthday cards and they saw a category — at a very low level, so little kids could read them — cards that were, you know like “husband to wife,” but this was like “husband to husband,” “wife to wife.” Right there at the lower level. And you know, we complain, but they don’t do anything and they’re all about being PC and just assuming that people are going to continue to shop there.

And I told my wife, I said, you know what, let’s avoid Target. If this is their agenda, if this is what they’re going to push, then why am I going to give them my money to push and be a part of the propaganda campaign that’s going to lead a lot of young people to make bad decisions, very costly, potentially deadly decisions in their life.

PFAW Spanish-Language Ad Challenges Walker in Wisconsin

Today People For the American Way (PFAW) released a new Spanish-language radio ad highlighting Gov. Scott Walker’s alarming track record on unemployment, the minimum wage, and education. The ad will air in Milwaukee, Racine, and Green Bay beginning today.

“Scott Walker’s destructive record speaks for itself,” said Scott Foval, regional political coordinator at People For the American Way. “He doesn’t think the minimum wage ‘serves a purpose.’ He made it more expensive for DREAMers to go to college. He cut millions of dollars from Wisconsin’s schools. This is not the kind of leader Wisconsin deserves. All Wisconsinites deserve a governor who respects working families and values education for all.”

This radio ad is the latest effort in People For the American Way’s multi-year, nationwide campaign to engage Latino voters in key states by shedding light on the agendas of GOP candidates. In this election cycle, PFAW has also aired Spanish-language ads in Georgia, North Carolina, and Colorado.

The script of the ad reads:

Walker bloquea nuestro futuro, y no comparte nuestros valores. Ya basta de que Scott Walker y los republicanos nos falten el respeto. El 4 de noviembre, votaremos en contra de Walker y los republicanos.

English translation:

Our community respects the value of hard work and a good education. We know how important those values are to our future. But Republican Scott Walker doesn’t share those values – or respect our dream of a better tomorrow. With Walker as governor, our community suffered three times the unemployment rate of non-Latinos in Wisconsin. And Walker opposes raising the minimum wage, saying he doesn't think it "serves a purpose." He also increased college tuition for DREAMers, and cut 800 million dollars from education.

Walker’s not just blocking our future – he doesn’t respect our values. We’ve had enough of Scott Walker’s - and the Republicans’ - lack of respect. And we must vote to protect the future of our community. On November 4th, we’re voting against Scott Walker and the Republicans.
