Fox News “culture war” correspondent Todd Starnes chatted with Buster Wilson of the American Family Association yesterday about an email that a lieutenant colonel in Kentucky reportedly sent to a handful of subordinates encouraging them to stand up to anti-gay organizations. This obviously irked the AFA since they are on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of anti-gay hate groups.
Starnes asserted that if a military family subscribes to an AFA publication, the Pentagon “would be obligated at that point to monitor that family for suspicious activity.”
Wilson asked Starnes if individuals in the White House or the Pentagon who are “anti-pro-family groups, anti-Christian groups” were behind the emails.
“It appears that this administration is trying to secularize the United States military,” Starnes warned. Wilson added that the Obama administration is “dissing Christianity, traditional conservatism and what’s really American.”
Later, Starnes agreed with Wilson’s claim that the “liberally-controlled government” will use the power of the state to suppress hate groups.
Wilson: At what point does the liberally-controlled government start to say, you know what this hate group needs to be quieted, they need to be quiet, we need to shut them up, they are doing what they do because of what they say and what they say is dangerous. It’s the old shouting fire in the theatre thing, they need to be quiet.
Starnes: Once you start saying something long enough people start believing it and I suspect we’re on that trajectory. At this stage in the game I think Jerry Boykin from FRC says that it is time for Americans to stand up and it is time to start fighting back by contacting your lawmakers, contacting your representatives in Washington, not just on the phone but in person saying ‘this has to stop.’
Earlier in the program, Wilson used Melissa Harris-Perry’s commentary on the collective responsibility of raising children to warn that America is in decline. He said that he now understands why “they think that they have the right to teach them about homosexual sex and it’s okay to have feelings for someone of the same-sex in kindergarten.”
Wilson: I never thought I’d see the day when we would be talking about openly from once respected news brands like NBC saying that you don’t own your own children. I just got to tell you sometimes it breaks my heart and sometimes my wife and I will just be talking about this and we’ll just tear up, we’re like, what is going on in this country? You honestly are going to try to sell me the idea that my kids don’t belong to me, they belong to you and everybody else? No wonder they think that they have the right to teach them about homosexual sex and it’s okay to have feelings for someone of the same-sex in kindergarten, no wonder they think that because it’s their kids and that’s what they believe.
HARRISBURG -- Today, People For the American Way and allies in Pennsylvania delivered over 125,000 petitions calling on Gov. Tom Corbett to reject a Republican scheme to rig the way Pennsylvania apportions its electoral votes. 108,000 of the petitions were from People For the American Way members and supporters. The plan, introduced by Sen. Dominic Pileggi, would split Pennsylvania’s electoral votes, thus diminishing its influence in presidential elections.
People For the American Way volunteers have knocked on over 3,000 doors in key Senate districts in the past three weeks, educating voters about the Republican plan. In addition, Pennsylvania members of PFAW’s African American Ministers in Action denounced the scheme at an event in Philadelphia yesterday.
“People in Pennsylvania and across the country are speaking out against this plan,” said Randy Borntrager, Political Director of People For the American Way. “Voters know when politicians are trying to pull a fast one on them, and Sen. Pileggi and his allies are not going to get away with it. Gov. Corbett should listen to his fellow Pennsylvanians and reject this scheme to diminish the influence of Pennsylvania voters.”
People For the American Way is dedicated to making the promise of America real for every American: Equality. Freedom of speech. Freedom of religion. The right to seek justice in a court of law. The right to cast a vote that counts. The American way. www.pfaw.org.
Alan Keyes’ conservative news site Renew America is out today with a column from Paul Kokoski, who reveals the Ten Commandments that “Satan has thus given the homosexual lobby” in order to advance the demonic goal of “deceiving Mankind and destroying souls, deceiving Mankind and destroying souls.”
Kokoski argues that Satan is using the gay rights movement to “attack God” and “redefine joyful” words like “gay” to give homosexuality “an innocent, natural and pleasing appeal.”
The Bible tells us that Satan has the ability to "appear as an angel of light." Nowhere is this more evident than in the radical attempt to promote homosexuality in society today as something good. For the purpose of deceiving Mankind and destroying souls, Satan has thus given the homosexual lobby the following 10 commandments.
1) Always see your sexual opponent (anyone who rejects homosexual acts) as the enemy. Project what they see as your sexual disorder onto them by repetitiously calling them "homophobes";
2) Separate the act of sex from its natural purpose of procreation by referring to all homosexual relationships as expressions of "love" rather than "lust";
3) Fight to deny those who oppose homosexual acts their right to free of speech. At the same time enforce your own right to free speech on others by copiously using the liberal media and other outlets to label your opponents every unsavory thing from "bigot" to "idiot." Use the words "equality" and "hate" often and unrelentingly as if only you – the homosexual – understand their meaning. If anyone objects, accuse them of discrimination. Keep in mind that politicians and judges are your friends. Many of them are openly practicing homosexuals and the rest, swayed by power and the almighty dollar, will do anything for your vote. Remember, too, that in today's politically correct and morally relativistic society there is no objective moral order and that it often takes only one civil judge to side in your favor for you to achieve your ends;
4) Use the "race card" unceasingly against your enemy by equating homosexual behaviour (which can change) with a person's color (which, by one's will alone, cannot). Most people don't know the difference;
5) Build yourself up in the eyes of the indifferent masses – who are mere sheep – by claiming to be a modern person of tolerance and peace – one who is accepting of all. The people will believe you because in today's materialistic word people are focused primarily on themselves and their own gain. They have little or no concern for what others do as long as it does not effect them. Ridicule and undermine the intelligence of your more worthy opponents by resorting to ambiguity and sarcasm. Never resist a chance to claim that they are living in the "Dark Ages";
6) Act and speak as if homosexuals have a corner on the truth and that they alone – not their opponents – can demand of society what is right and wrong. Use every form of deceit imaginable including the use of straw man arguments and false scientific studies – anything that will appeal to the simpleton. Lie, deceive, put on a false front. Pretend you are a friend. Talk of peace and brotherhood. Make pledges of co-operation and mutual assistance. In short, destroy your opponent with a kiss;
7) Confuse the distinction between "hating the sin" and "loving the sinner." This is an absolute must since everyone – especially parents – know the time-honored value of disciple and "tough love." This can be effectively achieved by introducing special "anti-bullying" laws into schools that aim at protecting homosexuals from the enemy. If you find that someone suspects your true motives and resists on the grounds that homosexuals should not be given special status in this regard or that such laws are merely an attempt to normalize homosexuality in society, use both the "equality" and the "separation of church and state" card against them;
8) Never lose sight of the fact that God is your ultimate enemy. Attack God and all religion as something oppressive, hypocritical and evil. This is easily done by take biblical quotes out of context to suite your own purpose and meaning. At the same time avoid all talk of the murderous regimes of atheists like Hitler and Stalin;
9) Assure everyone that no religion will be made to suffer from societies' acceptance of homosexuality. Speak always and often of equality and co-existence. Claim, as a sham, snare, and illusion, that tradition marriage and homosexual marriage can live side-by-side in complete harmony. Dismiss as silly and unviable any attempt to show that the "Pill" – which was introduced to separate and tear asunder the act of sex from the gift of life – has led to the disintegrated of the family. At the same time, and wherever possible, work diligently behind the scenes to drag your religious opponent into court whenever his moral values even begin to clash with yours. Test and try every court until you find a judge who is your friend. Especially work on religious adoption agencies and church ministers who lecture on the evils of homosexuality and same-sex marriage in their sermons. Where this is not possible infiltrate the priesthood so as to corrupt religion from within,
10) Redefine joyful and well-established words and symbols like "marriage," "spouse," "gay" and "rainbow" and attach them to homosexual acts in order to give sin an innocent, natural and pleasing appeal.
This, in effect, is the homosexual lobby manifesto that is sweeping the world. Yes indeed folks, Satan is among us!
This week, a Michigan high school canceled a planned speech by Rick Santorum after Santorum refused to provide school district officials with an advance copy of his remarks. But Religious Right activists think there is another explanation for the cancellation. Fox News commentator Todd Starnes reports that he spoke to a conservative youth group spokesman who said that Santorum’s speech was cancelled because of his well-known anti-gay remarks. In the past, Santorum has likened same-sex unions to “man on dog” and “man on child” marriages.
Talk show host Janet Mefferd posted a link to Starnes’ article on her Facebook page today, noting that she can soon see the “day when every Christian who supports real marriage might be made to wear a yellow patch on the sleeve, a ‘badge of shame’ to identify us as ‘anti-gay haters.’ Kind of like the Jews in Nazi Germany.”
The comparison of anti-gay activists to the Jews who suffered and died under the genocidal Nazi regime is deeply offensive and absurd on its face. And Mefferd should also remember that homosexuals in Nazi Germany were forced to wear pink triangle badges and were sent to concentration camps.
Bill Johnson of the American Decency Association apparently was surprised by the pushback his group received after the ADA attacked Magic Johnson for showing support for his openly gay son, and the watchdog group is, naturally, blaming the media.
“We once were a people largely united under what was right and what was wrong,” but then, Johnson claims, “Network television began to shove homosexuality down our throats.”
Johnson concludes that “America is deserving of God’s wrath” as a result of the media’s alleged promotion of gay people’s “destructive lifestyle.”
God blesses a nation whose God is the Lord. As we Americans turn our back upon the Lord, deny and mock His Word, and blaspheme His Holy Name, we set ourselves up for judgment.
Many astute believers state that America is already experiencing the judgment of God; that God has removed His hand of protection from America.
It is difficult to ignore this as a reality. America is deserving of God’s wrath.
We once were a people largely united under what was right and what was wrong. It was a nation under God.
However, there has been a RELENTLESS attack upon God and upon godliness. The evidences of the spiritual/moral slide has been lengthy and increasingly the “chickens have come home to roost.”
Americans love their televisions, stories and sitcoms and with the passing years knowing the difference between right and wrong has eroded through the concerted campaign of Hollywood.
Network television began to shove homosexuality down our throats years ago: America’s most powerful influence makers have intensified their public relations blitz aimed at convincing Americans that homosexual behavior is normal and more specifically, that homosexual “marriage” should be legalized.
In the book of Judges, Israel turned their backs upon God. Every man did what was right in his own eyes. To get man’s attention, God allowed the natural consequences of godlessness to have its way. Godlessness includes homosexuality, same-sex marriage, abortion, adultery, premarital sex, polygamy, pedophilia, … the list goes on and on.
Yet Magic Johnson, whose illicit sexual lifestyle resulted in his HIV status, is “proud” of his son for choosing an equally destructive lifestyle. Sin degrades, addicts, devastates, divides, destroys and is judged and will be ultimately be judged by a Holy God when we go before him when our life here comes to an end.
Network television and cable TV will trumpet, promote, propagandize and bully their way by continuing to spend billions of dollars to fool a godless generation. Untold numbers will be duped and will follow darkness rather than follow the light.
In an email to members of his Campaign for Working Families PAC, Gary Bauer claimed that “the political left has been on a cultural jihad to purge God and faith from the public arena” in order to push “the demonization of normalcy.”
For Bauer, “the demonization of normalcy” means criticism of anti-gay activists.
He said that opponents of marriage equality are unfairly portrayed as bigots and urged the Republican Party to begin “putting together a hard-hitting ad campaign right now to run against Senators Landrieu and Pryor” asking them if they will “promote same-sex ‘marriage’ while they hold public office.”
From the very beginning of the Obama Administration, the Department of Homeland Security was already "profiling" conservatives. Earlier this year, a West Point report labeled part of the "violent far right" anyone who espoused "strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals' civil and constitutional rights."
That could well be a majority of the country! According to a February Pew Research poll, 53% of Americans view the government as a threat to their liberty.
For decades, the political left has been on a cultural jihad to purge God and faith from the public arena. The political left mocks Christian conservatives as "the American Taliban." Now we are being told that believing marriage is between a man and a woman is bigotry.
When leftists outside the government condemn men and women of faith, why would we be surprised when leftists inside the government start producing reports calling heartland Americans "extremists"?
If any fair-minded observer in Big Media wanted to figure out why there is such a concern about universal background checks and a national registry of firearms, he should look no further than this latest Army briefing and the left's routine demonization of normalcy.
The demonization of normalcy is exemplified by the rush of Democrat politicians to embrace the radical notion of men "marrying" other men. CBS News reports that 54 senators now support same-sex "marriage," and 52 of them are Democrats. Of the 46 remaining hold outs, only three are Democrats.
Two of the hold outs -- Mary Landrieu and Mark Pryor -- are up for reelection next year in conservative states. The third, Sen. Joe Manchin, is from West Virginia, another conservative state with a highly competitive open Senate race next year.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee and the RNC should be putting together a hard-hitting ad campaign right now to run against Senators Landrieu and Pryor.
For example, they could demand they sign a pledge stating that they will respect the values of their constituents and that under no circumstances will they promote same-sex "marriage" while they hold public office. That way there won't be a voter in their state who feels cheated the day after the election, as I am sure many now do in Indiana, Missouri, Montana and North Dakota.
Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee holds a hearing on the nomination of Sri Srinivasan to sit on the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Srinivasan, who was first nominated ten months ago yet is just now receiving a hearing, is the latest Obama judicial nominee caught in the web of Senate obstruction. Last month, Republicans blocked the nomination of Caitlin Halligan to a seat on the same court, despite her impeccable qualifications and strong bipartisan backing. Some important facts to keep in mind during and after today’s hearing:
Our federal courts are suffering because of entrenched Republican obstruction. Because of both public and silent Republican filibusters, President Obama’s appeals court nominees have been forced to wait an average of 153 days between Judiciary Committee approval and a yes-or-no vote from the Senate. At this point in Bush’s presidency, the average wait for confirmed appeals court nominees was just 37 days. The foot-dragging is unrelated to who the nominee is – even consensus nominees with the strong support of their Republican home-state senators have been forced to wait for months through active or silent filibusters before the Senate is finally allowed to hold a confirmation vote. This pointless obstruction, which is echoed at the district court level, has led to persistently high vacancy rates and longer waits for Americans seeking their day in court.
Today on her radio program, Sandy Rios of the American Family Association hosted right-wing author and WND reporter Jerome Corsi to talk about his new book, The Bad Samaritans: The ACLU’s Relentless Campaign to Erase Faith from the Public Square. Corsi, who has written top conservative books such as Unfit for Command and Where’s the Birth Certificate?, told Rios that the ACLU is trying to “eliminate God and attack the family” in order to “make the United States a socialist country” that ultimately “takes away our freedoms.”
I think we are at risk of having a group like the ACLU remove God from America. This war on God, the ACLU’s roots—and I trace it in ‘Bad Samaritans’ back to its communist and very leftist roots in the 1920s—the ACLU since its founding has had an agenda to remove God. You cannot make the United States a socialist country unless you first eliminate God and attack the family. Marx said that religion was the opiate of the people and so therefore we who believe in Jesus Christ and take religion seriously are viewed as stupid or uneducated. The fundamental perspective of our founding fathers, which is what I believe, is that unless we have God at the core of the United States we lose our freedom because Thomas Jefferson when he wrote the Declaration of Independence declared our freedoms are unalienable, they’re given to us by God. If you eliminate God then it’s the state that gives and takes away our freedoms.
Rios, who earlier asserted that secular Jews often “turn out to be the worst enemies of the country,” asked Corsi about the “powerful Jewish forces behind the ACLU.” Corsi said that such forces are trying to make America “abandon the Judeo-Christian tradition” and therefore abandoning “values that are fundamental lynchpins of our freedom.”
Rios: I know that there are powerful Jewish forces behind the ACLU; can you just say a word about that very briefly, what’s that all about?
Corsi: There has been a real union between Jews in America and the Democratic Party ever since President Truman agreed with the partition of Palestine and created the state of Israel in 1948 at the UN. But my book is arguing for a Judeo-Christian faith, which is the heart of America. We cannot abandon the Judeo-Christian tradition. If we do we are abandoning our whole values that are fundamental lynchpins of our freedom.
After a discussion of the ACLU’s involvement in the Scopes Monkey Trial, Corsi said that the group is using evolution “to destroy America and eliminate our freedoms.” He said that the ACLU wants to make it so “we can’t have God in our hearts and our schools and our prayers and our public square” and that people don’t hear the “good scientific arguments” for Creationism.
He later maintained that the organization’s support for marriage equality and reproductive rights are part of “the destruction of the family and the attack on God,” which the ACLU hopes will prepare America “to embrace radical socialism.”
The ACLU is trying to say that science is evolution and anyone who doesn’t believe in evolution is just completely uneducated and stupid. That argument just doesn’t make any sense at all. I think there’s good scientific arguments for Intelligent Design, for Creationism of various kinds and theories. I mean look at the scientists nowadays coming with the Big Bang theory; the Big Bang theory sounds an awful lot to me like Genesis, and then God created light, that’s the beginning. So I think the idea that because we’re now so educated and so sophisticated we can’t have God in our hearts and our schools and our prayers and our public square, this is again something that is going to destroy America and eliminate our freedoms if we allow it to continue to happen.
The attack has been not only on God but on the family. Now we have the ACLU promoting same-sex marriage, promoting a whole sexual agenda and abortion, fighting since the beginning in the 1920s for Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood. The destruction of the family and the attack on God, taking God out of the public schools and out of the public square, this is not just by accident. It is part of the ACLU’s plan to move America in a godless direction, preparing it to embrace radical socialism, which is really just scientific materialism.
Televangelist Pat Robertson is not happy about Secretary of State John Kerry’s push for a peace agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians. In fact, the 700 Club host warned that Kerry is “asking for the wrath of Almighty God to fall on this nation.”
He claimed that any deal that includes territorial concessions to the Palestinians, including Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, will lead to divine retribution and “catastrophic” consequences.
“I think this is headed for disaster for the United States,” Robertson said, “We should do everything we can to restrain our leaders from this course of folly and it is a course of folly and it will result in terrible suffering for people in the United States.”
Previously, Robertson asserted that Ariel Sharon’s debilitating stroke and the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin were signs of divine punishment for their attempts to put together a peace deal.
I think this is headed for disaster for the United States. God says, they divided my land, there is something about dividing God’s land, he said this is my land, I gave it to Abraham and his descendants and I don’t want it taken away from them and Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel. For the United States to get into a deal where they’re trying to split Jerusalem and take it away from the Israelis and split up their capital, huge mistake. You are asking for the wrath of Almighty God to fall on this nation and when it falls it won’t be fun, it won’t be fun. We should do everything we can to restrain our leaders from this course of folly and it is and it is a course of folly and it will result in terrible suffering for people in the United States.
WASHINGTON – The Senate confirmed Judge Patty Shwartz of New Jersey to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in a 64 to 34 vote today, over one year after her nomination was sent to the Senate floor for a vote. Marge Baker, Executive Vice President of People For the American Way, released the following statement:
“The absurd delay of Patty Shwartz’s confirmation is emblematic of a Republican Party determined to obstruct the American people’s business at all costs. Judge Shwartz is indisputably qualified and supported by New Jersey’s legal leaders and elected officials from both parties, including Gov. Christie and both of the state’s U.S. senators. The only thing stopping the Senate from voting on her nomination was a 13-month Republican silent filibuster supported by flimsy excuses.
“The delay in confirming Judge Shwartz is sadly not unusual. President Obama’s confirmed circuit court nominees have been forced to wait an average of 153 days from Judiciary Committee approval to floor vote. By contrast, George W. Bush’s circuit court nominees at this point in his presidency waited an average of just 37 days. This deliberate slow-walking of nominees is obstructing Senate business, exacerbating a vacancy crisis in our federal courts, and deterring highly qualified individuals from putting themselves forward to serve on the federal bench.
“This summer, two more Third Circuit judgeships will become vacant. We hope that Senate Republicans will allow these vacancies to be filled in a timely manner.”
It didn’t take long for Judicial Watch founder Larry Klayman to turn a column discussing the persecution of Christians and dissidents in Iran into a warning that President Obama is supporting a “second Holocaust.”
Klayman, who has consistently claimed that Obama is an anti-Semitic Muslim with secret Iranian ties, now argues that Obama has deliberately shown “little resistance” to Iran’s plan to orchestrate a “second Holocaust” and “has given them a carte blanche to continue their mission to eventually wipe all Christians and Jews off the face of the earth.”
“This lack of resolve has given a green light not only to Islamic Iran to build nuclear weapons to carry out its planned Holocaust,” Klayman writes.
In the face of all of this, over the last four years, President Obama, and his two pliant and corrupt secretaries of state, Hillary Clinton and now John Kerry, have been virtually silent in speaking out about the persecution of Christians and Jews in Iran and the Middle East in general. Given Obama's Muslim roots and predilections, this regrettably comes as no surprise; but its effects on American foreign policy and the persecution and planned genocide of Christians and Jews have been devastating. The evil Islamic mullahs in Tehran obviously see that Obama has given them a carte blanche to continue their mission to eventually wipe all Christians and Jews off the face of the earth, as they are "infidels" whose God challenges their god, Allah, and the "Hidden Imam" for supremacy.
This Islamic genocidal mission obviously is what lies behind Iran's near complete push to acquire nuclear weapons. Indeed, Ahmadinejad has promised a second Holocaust, and with little resistance from Obama and his administration – save for cosmetic and worthless economic sanctions that have been imposed on the regime – Iranians and their Muslim allies, like the terrorist groups Hamas, Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood, now see this as an achievable reality. In short, they see "victory in sight."
And, to a large extent, this lack of resolve has given a green light not only to Islamic Iran to build nuclear weapons to carry out its planned Holocaust, but now to North Korea – not coincidentally the mullahs' ally – which also is seriously consider using its arsenal of atomic bombs to further the ultimate genocidal communist ends to annihilate and then acquire capitalist South Korea – their equivalent of Christians and Jews for the Iranian mullahs.
In short, for a variety of reasons, including Obama's Muslim sympathies and Republican lack of resolve if not cowardliness, the evil dictators of Iran and North Korea are on the verge of collectively turning the Western world into a powder keg.
This is yet another example of why "We the People" must now take control of our own fate before it is too late!
Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy dedicated his Washington Times column today to a letter demanding another investigation into the attack at the US Mission in Benghazi. The letter relies on debunked conspiracy theories and Gaffney amusingly argues that “this is not an effort to settle political scores:
It has been nearly eight months since jihadists attacked U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed, and many more were badly injured. That is pretty much all we know for sure about an incident that has let’s face it been subjected to the most comprehensive and successful cover-up in modern political history.
Now, 700 heroic special operations veterans have written an open letter to Congress calling for the creation of a new investigative committee to establish the truth. They want to know, in particular, why warriors like them weren’t allowed to aid our countrymen in their hour of need.
This is not an effort to settle political scores. Neither the Democrats who run the Senate nor Republicans who run the House have conducted the needed “full accounting.” What is required is more than just a postmortem on a national security debacle, however.
As one of the SOF community’s most revered leaders in both war and peace retired Army Lt. Gen. William “Jerry” Boykin, put it recently: “I have seen men take great risks to save a fellow warrior. I have even seen men die trying to do so. The lack of accountability regarding the Benghazi event disturbs me greatly and bears the earmarks of a cover-up.
“America is entitled to a full accounting of this egregious attack on our people with some explanation as to why there was no effort to save the Americans in [Benghazi] or at least to recover their bodies before they fell into Libyan hands. Our Congress has yet to fulfill its responsibility to provide a complete analysis of the attack or to provide answers as to what exactly happened. A bipartisan special committee is needed to determine the truth about Benghazi.”
But that isn’t a problem for Gaffney, as he too is a birther.
As for Boykin, the former general and current vice president of the far-right Family Research Council initially claimed that David Petraues resigned his position at the CIA not as a result of his affair but because he was about to expose Obama, who was blackmailing him, for “covering up” the Benghazi incident and “reached a point where he was unwilling to continue spouting the party line [on Benghazi] to the American public and continuing to breach his own integrity.”
Of course, that never happened and Boykin was completely wrong.
But that is one of Boykin’s tamer conspiracy theories, as he also believes that Obama won the election as a result of a plot by an international “cabal” led by George Soros and is creating a paramilitary force through the health care reform law to take control of America.
PHILADELPHIA – Pennsylvania civil rights and faith leaders held a press conference today to urge Pennsylvania Republicans to drop their plan to change the way the state apportions its electoral votes. Rev. Dr. Robert P. Shine, pastor of Berachah Baptist Church in Philadelphia and co-chair of People For the American Way’s African American Ministers In Action, made the following statement:
“Last year, African Americans in Pennsylvania stood up to suppressive voting laws and turned out to vote in great numbers. Now, Republican legislators are trying to diminish the power of our votes and our voices by watering down Pennsylvania’s electoral influence. This plan is unfair and it’s short-sighted. Instead of trying to rig the rules of the game to benefit their candidates, the Republicans should be working to win votes with their policies and values.”
People For the American Way’s African American Ministers in Action represents a network of 1,500 African-American clergy working toward equality, justice and opportunity for all.
The American Family Association’s Sandy Rios last week joined other conservative leaders in arguing that President Obama doesn’t love America, and went one step further by asserting that Obama doesn’t love the country in the same way as “people who were born and did grow up here.”
After suggesting Obama wasn’t born here, she then said: “Now I’m not saying that he wasn’t born here…I think that’s certainly a question we can ask.”
Rios went on to say that Hawaii is “very different” from the rest of America because “it’s not the mainland.”
She concluded her rant by asserting that Obama is “not that offended when Americans are killed” in places like Afghanistan, “He doesn’t have the same sense of protection and anger over it.”
Rios: People that didn’t grow up here don’t have the same kind of love for the country. I’m sorry, I think that includes our President, I don’t think he loves the country like people who were born and did grow up here. Now I’m not saying he wasn’t born here, I’m not even going to get into that, I think that’s certainly a question we can ask. But we do know that he spent a lot of his earlier years in Indonesia, in Hawaii, you know, it’s not the mainland, it’s very different.
I have always said from the time he was running that he doesn’t love this country enough to be its president. I stand by that, I said it a very long time ago, I stand by that statement. He’s not that offended when Americans are killed. He doesn’t have the same sense of protection and anger over it.
This weekend, our Pennsylvania volunteers had their best canvassing trip yet- and not just because of the beautiful weather. 20 volunteers met in State Senator Lloyd Smucker’s district, spending their Saturday afternoon talking to 700 Pennsylvanians and collecting signatures for our petition to Republican lawmakers in Pennsylvania. We weren’t surprised to hear the same things we hear every time we talk to Pennsylvania voters about the Republican electoral college plans: shock, confusion, and disappointment that Republican lawmakers like Senator Smucker are trying to make Pennsylvania less important to national elections.
Again and again, we’ve seen these Republican lawmakers avoid discussion of this bill by saying it isn’t a priority- but we know this is just another attempt to pull the wool over voters’ eyes. We know they’re trying to get these plans through quietly and without debate. And we know that Pennsylvanians won’t stand for it. We’re keeping the pressure on, and we need your help to do it. On April 10, we're delivering more than 100,000 signatures of PFAW supporters against the electoral college rigging at the Pennyslvania State Capitol Rotunda. If you haven't done so already, it's not too late to add your name to our petition to Republican lawmakers in PA and other states telling them to abandon this effort. Or donate to support our campaign here.
According to reports, Ssempa’s speeches included references to “homosexual cults [that] were kidnapping children and raping them and drugging them to brainwash them and turn them gay” and homosexual Satanists who were killing people for their blood.
The pastor is best known for displaying graphic images of gay sex:
Linda Harvey of Mission America warned in her radio alert today that children will no longer be able to dream about getting married because gay marriage will warp their minds.
“What will eight-year-old girls be allowed to wish for in the coming new era of same-sex marriage?” Harvey asked. “Because if homosexual militants have their dreams fulfilled, all American children will march to a new tune.”
She claimed that “all the children of America, not just those in homosexual households,” represent the “largest group of potential victims of this nonsense” as “the widespread embrace of homosexuality at the very least would mess with their minds and innocence at critical stages of development.”
Harvey claimed that marriage equality “will yield more disease, more anxiety, depression, more teen angst in general” and “the developing heart and mind of these children will be destabilized and younger and younger children will be sexualized.”
When I was eight years old my Christmas list had one item: a bride doll. How overjoyed I was when Santa left under our tree that beautiful doll with her white veil and satin dress. This was the stuff of little girl dreams that in my future would be a wedding: a bride with a groom. But I wonder, what will eight-year-old girls be allowed to wish for in the coming new era of same-sex marriage? Because if homosexual militants have their dreams fulfilled, all American children will march to a new tune.
Is the Supreme Court considering the implications here? The radicals dream of connecting the dots; expanding their conquered territory. In California, by law, no school children hear any objections to homosexual or transgender behavior. In Massachusetts, the Department of Education has decreed that gender confused children must have access to opposite sex restrooms and locker rooms. For the homosexual advocates who dream of totally silencing those of us who object, this isn’t nearly enough. They want every school room, the Boy Scouts, TV shows and Hollywood to sing the same song to America’s little children, that when you grow up, you might date and marry someone of the same-sex or it might be the opposite sex or you might want to change your own sex and this is all good and progressive, all other views are hate.
It’s frustrating to read the transcripts of the Supreme Court oral arguments on the two marriage cases with the consequences of same-sex marriage pretty much unexplored. Our side studiously avoids the core issue: same-sex marriage is wrong because homosexual behavior is wrong. In the Hollingsworth v. Perry case, attorney [Charles] Cooper did say, ‘redefining marriage will have real world consequences,’ and Justice Kennedy mentioned unchartered waters and a cliff. But that’s just as far as these ideas went. Attorney [Ted] Olsen claims homosexuality is something people can’t change and he compares it to race, but he’s wrong and this is an enormously important point.
Since homosexuality is not inborn, the highest court in our land might want to seek input from the largest group of potential victims of this nonsense: all the children of America, not just those in homosexual households, they would live lives with a completely upside-down set of standards about dating, masculinity, femininity, courtship, future dreams and permissible behavior. The widespread embrace of homosexuality at the very least would mess with their minds and innocence at critical stages of development. More experimentation, even for a time, will yield more disease, more anxiety, depression, more teen angst in general. Does this guaranteed revolution bother only me? Or are you concerned as well?
As we witness so-called conservatives and our churches either run from this issue or worse, jump on board, it’s clear that moderate voices will not restrain the radicals from enacting their spiteful plans. All schools, even Christian institutions, will be forced to teach only one, sugarcoated viewpoint, and the wider culture will echo this and shape the new public opinion. Any mention of ex-homosexuals will be horrifying and the equivalent of honoring the Ku Klux Klan. The developing heart and mind of these children will be destabilized and younger and younger children will be sexualized. The evidence about where this revolution takes us is already available. Won’t someone out there start to look at gay marriage through the eyes of our precious children?
Yesterday on TruNews, End Times broadcaster Rick Wiles lashed out at Fred Luter, the head of the Southern Baptist Convention, for initially denying and then retracting his remarks that tied gay rights to nuclear threats from North Korea.
But Wiles is not backing down from his claim, which Luter had agreed with, that there is a connection between “gay rights fanatics” and North Korea’s desire for a nuclear strike on America. Yesterday on his program, he condemned Luter for disavowing his comments during an interview with Anderson Cooper.
“Poor pastor Luter, he wilted under the heat of CNN’s cameras, he recanted what he said on TruNews,” Wiles said, “He tucked his tail between his legs like a frightened puppy; he made Joel Osteen look like the winner of the tough man contest.”
He went on to maintain that Supreme Court decisions on the separation of church and state, legal abortion and gay rights have put the US on “a rapid descent into darkness,” which has prompted God to remove His “hand of divine protection over this nation” and make the country “vulnerable and ripe for destruction.”
CNN’s Anderson Cooper was talking about me last night on CNN, he had Southern Baptist President Fred Luter on CNN last night regarding my comments linking North Korea’s threats to nuke America to America’s slide into debauchery. Poor pastor Luter, he wilted under the heat of CNN’s cameras, he recanted what he said on TruNews. He tucked his tail between his legs like a frightened puppy; he made Joel Osteen look like the winner of the tough man contest. Where are the real men of God in this country? Have they all lost courage to speak for God when this nation is facing destruction? I promise you I will not recant, I will not bow, I will not run and I will now cower. Will you stand with me? We need your support now more than ever.
What has Anderson Cooper, Alan Colmes, Salon magazine and the Huffington Post in an uproar about TruNews? It’s because I dare to declare that the United States of America is quickly approaching its day of reckoning. Since the 1962, 63 Supreme Court rulings banning prayer and Bible reading in the public schools to the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing the murder of tens of millions of innocent babies to the upcoming court decision on homosexual marriage, the USA has been on a steady downhill slide as a nation. We are now in a rapid descent into darkness. There is a Holy God in Heaven who made this nation great. It is my Heavenly Father who blessed America; it is my Heavenly Father who made this country wealthy, made it powerful and made it mighty. It’s the same God who built this nation because of the righteousness of the early generations of Americans who will be the same Holy God who will remove His blessings and protection from this land because the nation has chosen debauchery and open sin as its way of life.
His patience with this nation is nearing its end. It isn’t God who is destroying America. He is trying to save this country. We are committing suicide as nation. God is withdrawing His hand of divine protection over this nation; He is stepping back, removing the spiritual dome that for hundreds of years shielded America. He will be silent as America’s enemies encircle this nation and see that our moral defense shield is down and we are vulnerable and ripe for destruction.
