Sandy Rios, the governmental affairs director of the American Family Association, is in the camp that President Obama maybeasecret Muslim, and today on her radio program she claimed that he is helping Islamists win power in the Middle East.
“I think American people need to know: Our government is working against us in every single, it seems, situation,” she said.
“There is a plan, it always turns out to favor the Islamists, whatever the plan,” Rios said, claiming that U.S. intervention in Libya and supporting democracy in Egypt were moves intended to help Islamist groups.
“Maybe they just are overlooking things. You think? I don’t think so but you could say that, but we will look at their actions and their actions are absolutely disastrous.”
We will wait for Rios’ exposé about how the Bush administration invaded Iraq to help Al Qaeda and Iran.
On his radio program today, Bryan Fischer took a call from "Bruce in Dallas, Texas" who offered up a novel solution to the problem of Islamic terrorism in the Middle East, suggesting that every time a terrorist kills or kidnaps a Christian, the U.S. government ought to shut down one mosque here in America.
After Bruce asserted that such a system would quickly bring an end to Islamic terrorism because after a few hundred American mosques are closed, the funding for terrorism would dry up, Fischer chimed in to voice his full support for this solution.
"What you're suggesting," Fischer said, "is that there be some kind of justice there, if you have an American victim overseas, we're going to close down one of your mosques. I think that is absolutely fair and its just. I like the way you think, Bruce."
Even as the Religious Right’s favorite reality TV family is rocked by a sexual abuse scandal, the American Family Association is urging its members to pull their sons from the Boy Scouts out of fear that gay troop leaders will sexually molest them and recruit them into homosexuality.
Former AFA official Bryan Fischer, who hosts a daily program on the organization’s radio network, called Boy Scouts head Robert Gates’ support for admitting gay troop leaders “a disaster, a moral catastrophe.” If gay men are allowed to lead Boy Scout troops, he said, “It’s no longer going to be Boy Scouts of America, it’s going to be Gay Pedophiles Scouting For Boys”:
The AFA’s Randy Sharp told the organization’s OneNewsNow news outlet today that lifting the ban on gay troop leaders would present a “clear and present danger” to boys and that there for parents should “immediately remove their sons” from the organization:
He was hinting at a policy revision to allow open homosexuals to act as leaders and mentors to scouts.
Randy Sharp, director of Special Projects at the American Family Association, says the Boy Scouts are playing with a "clear and present danger" and parents should be aware.
"We would urge all parents to immediately remove their sons from the Boy Scouts of America," Sharp, speaking for the pro-family group, tells OneNewsNow.
He says homosexual leaders are poised to influence boys about their sexuality and their presence subjects boys to opportunities for sexual abuse by their trusted leaders.
John Stemberger, head of the rival organization Trail Life USA, similarly warned that such a “tragic” move by the Boy Scouts would endanger “the safety and security of its boys” and even allow “the homosexual agenda to infiltrate the church”:
John Stemberger, chairman of the board for Trail Life USA, said in a statement that Trail Life is "saddened" by the Boy Scouts' announcement.
"It is tragic that the BSA is willing to risk the safety and security of its boys because of peer pressure from activist groups," he said.
Many churches that sponsored Boy Scout troops also dropped their support and Sharp says Gates' announcement is an "opportunity for the homosexual agenda to infiltrate the church."
Meanwhile anti-gay activist Michael Brown told WorldNetDaily that allowing gay Boy Scout leaders not only “opens the door for sexual predators,” it also “opens the door for gay boys to be flirting with straight boys under the auspices of the Boy Scouts’:
Michael Brown, who holds a Ph.D. from New York University and has researched and written a number of books on homosexuality, says he is not surprised by the Scouts.
“I said from the start that gay activists would not stop at having openly homosexual boys in the Boy Scouts, but now it’s openly homosexual leaders.”
Brown, whose books include “Can You Be Gay and Christian?” and the upcoming “Outlasting the Gay Revolution: Where Homosexual Activism Is Really Going and How to Turn the Tide,” believes if the Boy Scouts accept openly homosexual leaders, they will cease to be a positive moral force in the lives of American boys.
“This sets a wrong role model for these kids,” Brown told WND.
Yet, Brown says parents should have further concerns.
“This opens the door for sexual predators, a real danger, and it opens the door for gay boys to be flirting with straight boys under the auspices of the Boy Scouts,” he said.
Americans for Truth About Homosexuality’s Peter LaBarbera, for his part, told OneNewsNow that by allowing gay leaders, the Boy Scouts would “promote the acceptance of sexual perversion”:
"Because you cannot be a wholesome organization and promote the acceptance of sexual perversion at the same time," he warns.
As Brian wroteearlier today, evangelist Franklin Graham has warned that the move “would put young, innocent boys at risk,” while conservative author Paul Kengor said that a lack of “courage” from the Boy
Sandy Rios, the American Family Association’s governmental affairs director and host of “Sandy Rios in the Morning,” spoke with Fox News pundit Todd Starnes at yesterday’s “Watchmen on the Wall” conference about the supposed danger posed by the gay rights movement.
Rios declared that the newest frontier of the gay left is the Girl Scouts, who have “initiated a new transgender policy where little boys who think they’re little girls can now be in Girl Scouts.” Starnes was equally concerned with this new nondiscrimination rule, observing that “the indoctrination” from the gay left “is in every single thing.”
“It’s in television, schools, the Scouts,” he said. “It’s in many churches now…it’s just non-stop.”
Striking fear in the hearts of parents everywhere, Rios warned, “if you are slow to catch up with this, please remember your kids are not safe in the places that they join: the clubs, the schools, the homes they visit. These are dangerous times and you’re going to have to really step up and guard your children.”
She added that she has started confronting Girl Scouts who are selling cookies to tell them “what Girl Scouting is all about now.”
“Your kids are not safe in the places that they join, the clubs, the schools, the homes they visit,” Rios added. “These are dangerous times and you are going to have to have to really step up and guard your children.”
Rios explained that the “ultimate goal” of the “radical gay left” is to “deconstruct the family” by breaking down “every barrier when it comes to sexuality...so that we have absolute sexual chaos.” This is an undisputed truth that “goes way back to Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto,” she said.
Starnes concluded that “when you look at the overwhelming evidence out there, there is something afoot. There is something going on in the public school system where there is some sort of radical indoctrination underway. And it’s not just in the big cities. We’re looking at something happening like this in Bentonville, Arkansas. Small towns, big towns, North, South, it’s happening all over.”
Back in 2000, a gay couple who had been been together for decades and registered as domestic partners in New York City moved to Pennsylvania, where gay marriage was illegal and their relationship was not legally recognized. Concerned about protecting their legal rights when it came to issues of inheritance and estate planning, the two men followed the advice of their lawyer and became legally related through adoption.
Last year, Pennsylvania's law banning gay marriage was struck down and so this couple dissolved their adoption decree and are now planning on getting legally married .... and Bryan Fischer is predictably freaking out, saying that the state of Pennsylvania has now legalized incest.
"We talk about pedophilia is coming, bestiality is going to be down the road, and we've talked about incest and I think incest is going to be one of the dominos that is soon to fall," Fischer said on his radio program today. "In fact, it already has in Pennsylvania."
Outraged that Pennsylvania would even allow the two men to enter into such a relationship in the first place, Fischer declared that it created a situation where "someone who is legally a father sleeping, enjoying carnal relations with somebody who legally is his son. What is that? That's incest."
"Now you have the normalization, through the homosexual agenda" of incest, Fischer said. "You're going to have incest that's been normalized and legalized [and] a father and a son will be allowed to enter into a homosexual marriage. Again, as we said, now incest is being normalized. There is just no place to stop":
Did you realize that America's Founders established Christianity as the official religion of America in the 13 Original state Constitutions? ... Then suddenly, following three and half centuries of meteoric rise and cultural distinction, a secular U.S. Supreme Court in 1963 pronounced that the Bible would no longer be the fixed point in which to structure and judge community.
Lane’s opening misses a few minor historical points: the adoption of the Constitution, First Amendment, and Bill of Rights, and the fact that states with established official churches had disestablished them in the 18th and 19th centuries, long before the Supreme Court ruling Lane is complaining about.
Speaking of the Supreme Court, Lane declares, “God defines marriage, not secularist crusaders of the superior court.” And in order to be “completely transparent and unclouded on God’s position on homosexuality,” he quotes several Bible verses, including one from Leviticus that a man who sleeps with another man “shall surely be put to death.”
Lane denounces the American church for its “submission to secularists.”
Egregious and scandalous is the Church’s submission to secularists, and the resignation of America’s Founder’s mission, “We do hereby Dedicate this Land, and ourselves, to reach the People within these shores with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to raise up Godly generations after us, and with these generations take the Kingdom of God to all the earth.”
That’s another historical sleight-of-hand. In common usage, terms like “founders” and “founding fathers” typically refer to men involved in the Declaration of Independence and the writing and ratification of the Constitution. Lane’s quote comes from Robert Hunt, a leader of the British settlement at Jamestown nearly two centuries earlier.
The American church has lost its commission in the public square, its purpose for being. Ultimately, unless we find the chart and compass used by Colonial America to establish Christianity as the official religion of America, America will no longer be.
On his radio program today, Bryan Fischer called on social conservatives "to prepare for a post-apocalyptic world" when the Supreme Court strikes down gay marriage bans and to stand united in declaring that they will "NEVER capitulate to any Nazi-esque order" requiring them to recognize gay marriage.
"This has got to be a non-negotiable red line for us," Fischer said. "It is absolutely imperative that that we categorically, unambiguously, and publicly declare that we will NEVER ... accept the normalization of homosexual marriage, and will NEVER capitulate to any Nazi-esque order from any government at any level to violate either conscience or biblical principle on this matter."
"They can’t arrest us all, they can’t prosecute us all, they can’t lock us all up, they can’t shut down every Christian-run business, they can't shut down every Christian school, they can't shut down every Bible-believing church, they can't shut down every Christian ministry," he concluded. "They can't lock us all up, but our determination to resist moral tyranny must be resolute enough to prompt them to try":
Earlier this spring, the American Family Association led an unsuccessful campaign to demand that Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan recuse themselves from the marriage equality cases at the Supreme Court because they had officiated weddings for same-sex couples.
“We are living in lawless times where there really is no honor,” Rios said, “and for the left it’s the means to an end, you know the honorable thing to them is getting gay marriage legalized, it doesn’t matter how dishonorable they are in the process.”
After nine people died in Waco, Texas, during a fight yesterday between rival motorcycle gangs, American Family Association governmental affairs director Sandy Rios noted on her radio show today the “senseless” violence and waste of life. Instead of letting them fight each other, Rios said, the U.S. government could have just used these gang members to fight drug cartels and Islamists.
“Police have their hands full fighting our real enemies, the cartels, the Islamists, and now they’re fighting motorcycle gangs?” Rios asked. “I find myself thinking, let’s have a little retraining for motorcycle gangs and put them on our side fighting our enemies. That’s what we really need.”
Of course, a right-wing talk show host suggesting that the government work with white gang members to fight “our real enemies” is totally acceptable, whereas a right-wing talk show host like Michael Savage can stir up panic in his base by claiming that President Obama is planning to deputize members of the Crips and Bloods.
On his radio program today, Bryan Fischer called upon state legislatures to pass resolutions declaring that they will not abide by any Supreme Court ruling that legalizes gay marriage, warning that failure to do so would result in chaos, civil unrest, and violence.
Declaring that states "have every moral and legal right to ignore the federal government," Fischer said that such a step was necessary to save America from tyranny and social chaos.
"The Supreme Court can be slapped down through a deliberative and representative process," he said, "rather than through chaos and civil unrest which I and a lot of other pro-family leaders fear is the alternative. If the Supreme Court continues to overreach and they aren't checked, we are headed towards civil unrest, I don't think there is any other way around it. If it's not stopped and reversed, the tyrannical overreach of the Supreme Court, we are to have social dislocation and I believe we are going to have violence as a result. And that is simply because freedom is too deeply ingrained in the DNA of the American people to permit tyranny to continue unchecked forever":
The Religious Right has long been suspicious of the Girl Scouts, which activists have claimed turns girls into promiscuous, abortion-having lesbian socialists. Anti-Girl-Scout sentiment is on the rise yet again on the Right since the organization has announced that it will allow transgender girls to join the Scouts on “a case-by-case basis.” Concerned Women for America’s Penny Nance has been making the rounds on conservative media, calling the policy a “slap in the face to Christian parents,” and a few petitions are circulating urging people to make their displeasure known to the organization.
CitizenGo, the international petition platform that the National Organization for Marriage’s Brian Brown sits on the board of, is warning that the Girl Scouts are no longer merely “teaching girls that abortion and lesbianism are normal and admirable,” but are now running “a social engineering experiment on children”:
Although their cookies may be tasty, the Girl Scouts of America (GSA) has long promoted radical agendas, including teaching girls that abortion and lesbianism are normal and admirable. But now, they've gone even further to promote a sexual ideology to children.
In accordance with the new policy, the GSA website now reads, "If the child is recognized by the family and school/community as a girl and lives culturally as a girl, then Girl Scouts is an organization that can serve her in a setting that is both emotionally and physically safe."
In plain English, this means that families will be forced play gender make-believe and accept biological boys as girls. Boys in skirts and make-up, sharing tents with young vulnerable girls will now become an accepted part of the Girls Scouts program. This obviously puts children at risk and treats a recognized mental health problem as normative.
It's a tragedy that GSA leadership is willing to run a social engineering experiment on children, both the confused boys and the innocent girls wondering why a boy in a dress is in the bathroom with them.
If you believe that the GSA has gone too far with normalizing a radical sexual ideology, please sign our petition to the Girl Scouts of America, telling them that the Girl Scouts program is for girls, period!
Meanwhile, the American Family Association and its affiliate One Million Moms, seem to have picked up some of the same talking points, warning that the Girl Scouts’ “dangerous policy” will “put young innocent girls at risk” by forcing them to associate with “[b]oys in skirts, boys in make-up and boys in tents.”
Sign our petition to tell the Girl Scouts of America to stop this nonsense by rescinding this dangerous policy now!
The group says on its website, "If the child is recognized by the family and school/community as a girl and lives culturally as a girl, then Girl Scouts is an organization that can serve her in a setting that is both emotionally and physically safe."
This means girls in the organization will be forced to recognize and accept transgenderism as a normal lifestyle. Boys in skirts, boys in make-up and boys in tents will become a part of the program. This change will put young innocent girls at risk.
Adults are willing to experiment on our kids - both the boys who are confused and the girls who will wonder why a boy in a dress is in the bathroom with them.
The Girl Scouts of America has lost its moral compass and needs your encouragement to rescind this new policy. Since 2003, bad policies like this have resulted in GSA's enrollment dropping by over one million girls, almost 27% of its membership.
Anti-gay pundits such as Charles C. Johnson and the editors of WorldNetDaily are making hay over the news that the engineer of the fatal Amtrak crash in Philadelphia on Tuesday was a supporter of gay rights and may be gay himself.
Today on her radio program, American Family Association governmental affairs director Sandy Rios also mentioned the engineer’s sexual orientation, saying it was likely “a factor” the crash.
“Now I am not saying, I am not inferring to those of you that are gay rights activists and like to monitor this show, I’m not inferring that this accident happened because he was gay, but I do think it’s an interesting part of the story and you can bet it would be edited out,” Rios said. She then suggested that the engineer could have possibly been “going through some confusion that has to do with the very core of who they are,” and mentioned the story of an airline pilot who “put his entire plane at risk because he had an emotional, angry outburst to something that happened,” which she says was related to hormone therapy he was receiving.
Rios added: “I don’t know, but I think it is something to be discussed and I think it’s a factor and I doubt you will hear it anywhere else.”
On his radio program today, Bryan Fischer called for gay people to be banned from working for the Transportation Security Administration on the grounds that gay security screeners at airports are "repeatedly" sexually assaulting passengers.
Citing literally four examples, Fischer declared that incidents of "passengers being sexually groped by TSA agents of the same sex" are being reported "almost every day" and so the only logical solution is to ban gay people from working for the TSA.
"Just based on recent experience, based on what's happening, based on passenger complaints," Fischer said, "I'm thinking maybe it's time for the TSA, maybe it makes sense, just common sense, if our concern is to protect passenger safety, if our concern is to protect the sexual integrity of those that fly America's airways, then one of the things we may need to do at the TSA is start discriminating in our hiring practices on the basis of sexual orientation":
In an International Business Times article from earlier this month, Andrew Perez and David Sirota reported that Jeb Bush, as governor of Florida, used taxpayer funds to subsidize a company owned by the far-right, anti-gay American Family Association (AFA).
Specifically, the “lucrative tax break” that Bush delivered helped the company’s production of “Web filter technology to prevent Internet users from seeing pornography or information about homosexual relationships or transgender identities.”
In the article, People For the American Way President Michael Keegan pointed out that Bush’s actions highlight his extremism as an elected official:
"That Jeb Bush gave taxpayer money to a subsidiary of a hate group whose founder has compared homosexuality to theft and murder and has claimed that gay people target children speaks volumes about who Bush is as an elected official,” said Michael Keegan of the liberal activist group People for the American Way. “If there was any question about his extremism before, this eliminates any shred of doubt.”
People For the American Way has long monitored the far-right, homophobic actions and rhetoric of the American Family Association. When Bush first provided the tax break to AFA’s company, PFAW was one of the leading groups to call him out on it. In 2001, PFAW President Ralph G. Neas and PFAW Florida Director Lisa Versaci urged Bush to rescind his support for an organization whose president had declared: “For the sake of our children and society, we must oppose the spread of homosexual activity! Just as we oppose murder, stealing, and adultery.”
On his radio program yesterday, Bryan Fischer was praising an effort by Texas legislators to preemptively defy any Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage when he went off on a tangent to declare that support for gay rights in America is "evidence that Satan exists."
Citing a CDC survey that found that less than two percent of the adult population identifies as gay or lesbian, Fischer said that it is crazy that the tiny minority group has been able to bully the rest of the nation into accepting their "sexual deviancy."
"They are like bullies on the playground that are pushing everybody else around," Fischer said. "They have got their boot on our throats. I mean, it's just ridiculous that such a small percentage of the American population should be able to push the normalization of sexual deviancy on a nation of of 320 million people and to be able to demonize the people that are standing up for sexual normalcy and are standing up for God's standard of sexuality and marriage, to get them demonized as hate-filled, homophobic bigots."
"It's just kind of really an amazing thing if you stop and think about it," he continued. "And if you need evidence that Satan exists, I gotta tell you, that's it":
American Family Association governmental affairs director Sandy Rios today spoke with Conservative Review editor Daniel Horowitz about refugees from predominantly Muslim countries settling in the U.S., which Rios had previously decried as a “strategic colonization.”
Horowitz, citing zero evidence, blamed anti-Semitism on college campuses on the “flood” of Muslim foreign nationals who study in U.S. universities on student visas, warning that Jews may soon “have to flee” the U.S.
The two then discussed a resettlement program of 300 refugees, mostly from Syria and the Democratic Republic of Congo, in Southern Idaho. According to the Associated Press, while approximately 4 million people have fled Syria in the midst of its civil war, “the U.S. has resettled just 648 Syrians,” a development which Rios and Horowitz depicted as a deluge.
Horowitz also claimed that President Obama and his administration, along with the United Nations, are deliberately targeting Republican-leaning states for the resettlement of Muslim refugees. (In fact, six of the 10 states that accepted the most refugees voted for Obama’s re-election in 2012.) “It’s no coincidence that Obama, the Obama administration, led by the UN, the UN also gets a bite at the apple, they have some say in this, that they are choosing these red areas,” he said.
“It’s the death of a Republic,” Horowitz said. “And why would anyone willing do that? It’s not good for the country, it’s not good for immigrants, it’s not good for the people here.”
On his radio program yesterday, Bryan Fischer put forth a rather novel anti-marijuana legalization argument when he claimed that legalizing pot would lead to more police officers being killed.
Citing the recent killing of two police officers in Mississippi, Fischer seized upon the fact that one of the suspects was a regular user of "spice," a synthetic form of marijuana, while ignoring the fact that the suspect also reportedly had a history of mental health problems, to declare that drug legalization will result in more cops being killed.
"You see something like this, where he is high, smoking spice every day," Fischer said, "and you have people out there saying, 'Look, we just need to legalize drugs, the problem is we have too many drug laws, we have too many people incarcerated for drugs, let's just legalize drugs.' Well, here's one of the things you're going to see more of, if you legalize drugs, we're going to see more cops getting shot in connection with routine traffic stops":
Rios, the director of governmental affairs at the American Family Association, told Lafferty that LGBT rights advocates have been “homosexualizing schools” for over two decades, warning that LGBT themes are “folded into the texts of almost every discipline.”
“Look at the polls showing how our kids feel about homosexuality, even Christian kids,” Rios continued. “Does anybody think that’s by accident? It’s because they are inundated with a steady flow — even in those nice, good schools that you think you have. Good teachers have been silenced and for the most part they have folded.”
She warned that parents only have two options: “You’ve either got to run for school board and cleanse your local governance of these kinds of people making these horrible decisions or you’ve got to pull your kids out of school. I don’t see another choice.”
“You are putting your children in such great danger now,” she said. “Danger because of the confusion, because of the temptation, because of the indoctrination. You’re not helpless to do something about it, but you will be.”
When he was governor of Florida, Jeb Bush's administration gave a $600,000 tax subsidy package to an internet-filtering company owned by the American Family Association.
Phyllis Schlafly says that the fight against immigration reform "is do-or-die for America."
Peter LaBarbera is alarmed by the news that an editor at Townhall.com is gay because while gay conservatives "may be conservative on a bunch of issues, and do wonderful work on those issues, but when it comes to homosexuality, they become gay rights activists."
The only people who want to know Glenn Beck's thoughts on "the media of the future" are people who don't actually ever listen to Glenn Beck because, if they did, they would know that he is the last person on earth who they should be asking.
Some helpful advice from Jennifer LeCalire: "If you live in a region where false Mary worship is rising, you'll notice that Jezebel's witchcrafts rise again in May. That's because of the traditional 'May Crowning' ritual that takes place to honor the Virgin Mary as 'the Queen of May.'"
Finally, Bryan Fischer keeps citing the recent terrorist attack in Texas as evidence that America needs to ban Muslim immigration despite the fact that both of the men who carried out the attack were native-born Americans.
The American Family Association's director of governmental affairs, Sandy Rios, was a guest on the AFA's "Today's Issues" radio program this morning where she warned that if the Supreme Court strikes down state bans on gay marriage, Christians who preach against homosexuality will be treated as provocateurs, not unlike anti-Islam activist Pamela Geller, who organized the event in Texas last week at which two Islamic terrorists were killed.
"Pam's event has been called provocative, what she was doing in soliciting cartoons being drawn was called provocative and I supposed, you know, you could say it is," Rios said. "I would say that if the Supreme Court legalizes gay marriage, so much of what we say and write at AFR will be provocative in the same way. We will be saying things to incite, to anger, to provoke — at least from their viewpoint — because, no, it's the law, it's legal, it's okay. You can't say something against what's been made legal and this is where we're going to get into some really rough terrain, I think":
