Barber: The NALT Christians Project Is 'Apostasy'

Inspired by the success of Dan Savage's "It Gets Better" project, a few weeks ago John Shore and Truth Wins Out launched the Not All Like That (NALT) Christians Project, which is designed to "give LGBT-affirming Christians a means of proclaiming to the world—and especially to young gay people—their belief and conviction that there is nothing anti-biblical or at all inherently sinful about being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender."

Given that mission, it comes as no surprise that Matt Barber and Peter LaBarbera, who are exactly the sort of people that participants in NALT are proclaiming that not all Christians are like, are unhappy about the project, with Barber declaring that he won't stand for being lectured to about Christianity by someone like Savage, who is "one of the most hateful and vile human beings on the planet."

"This is comical," Barber said. "This is laughable.  To have vile, anti-Christian bigots who are pushing a radical, dangerous sexual anarchist agenda presuming to lecture Christians and have people - self-identified Christians, liberal so-called Christians - upload videos about how they support something that God calls an abomination, there's no other word for it, it's apostasy when you have self-described Christians do it.  It is par for the course when you have those who hate God, people like Dan Savage doing it":

Staver: God Will Not Bless America If Abortion Remains Legal

Outraged by a video of pro-choice activists and two Democratic candidates for governor in Iowa praying for continued access to safe and legal abortion facilities, Mat Staver and Matt Barber asserted that they were not praying to Jesus, but actually to Satan and warned that the participants were putting both this nation and their eternal souls at risk.

Staver compared the United States to Nazi Germany, declaring that "if we continue to go down this path, God will not continue to bless this nation.  How can God continue to bless this nation any more than God could have continued to bless Hitler when he was gassing and destroying and experimenting on all the millions of people and the Jews and others during his atrocities?"

For his part, Barber was not only "shocked" by such a prayer, but also has "a sense of fear for these individuals that they would dare take God's name in vain to pray for the blessings of abortion; we need to pray for their immortal souls"

Barber: The 'Pagan' Obama Administration Is Discriminating Against Christians

Claiming that the Alabama Air National Guard is now denying tours to church youth groups (an assertion for which we were able to find any documented reporting or supporting evidence), Mat Staver and Matt Barber said that the Obama Administration is discriminating against Christians because it holds a "pagan worldview."

As Barber explained, the Obama administration is the "modern-day equivalent" of ancient Rome, demanding that citizens must worship Caesar in the form of progressiveism.

"It's the same thing; it's pagan sexual morality," Barber said. "It's a pagan view of the world that is a secularist view of the world that is inherently hostile toward not just any religion but particularly Christianity"

Liberty Counsel: Public Schools Have 'Become Some Of The Most Dangerous Places In America'

In last month’s edition of The Liberator [PDF], Liberty Counsel president Anita Staver blasted public school as “dangerous, anti-God indoctrination camps” that “threaten our nation’s very survival.” Pleading with parents to homeschool their children in a column titled “Stealth Creation of Government Indoctrination Camps Underway,” Staver lamented that “millions of helpless people are taken there on busses to be brainwashed and victimized” in “repressive” schools controlled by “secularists, humanists, and socialists.”

“Public schools have indeed, become some of the most dangerous places in America,” she writes. “We cannot stick our head in the sand while our nation’s children are held hostage in government indoctrination camps.”

“Resist the godless, socialist indoctrination before it’s too late!”

Most Americans are blissfully unaware that dangerous, anti-God indoctrination camps have been opened in every state in our nation!

A further outrage: You and I are being forced to support these socialist camps that threaten our nation’s very survival.

Under the guise of bringing positive reform, these camps are undermining the American way of life. Every day, millions of helpless people are taken there on busses to be brainwashed and victimized. In fact, our government has created an entire bureaucracy dedicated to advancing these repressive institutions.

You probably even have relatives or friends who are mandated to live in these camps for countless hours of the most impressionable and formative years of their lives. Of course, these government indoctrination camps are also known as “public schools.”

Public schools have indeed, become some of the most dangerous places in America, not just because of potential violence, but due to humanists with revisionist textbooks espousing anti-God lies to throngs of unsuspecting indoctrinees.

Although public schools were started to spread and affirm Christian morals and the Bible, government schools have become hostile places for God’s Word. The tragic fact is that the lack of morals in our public school classrooms is endangering our nation’s future.

These days, when parental authority is overruled by bureaucrats and activist judges, leaving parents as mere caretakers, Christians need to heed the warnings and take control of the public schools while they still can. And while we are working on school reform, we need to be sure our own children do not fall victim to the brainwashing.

I believe that many Christians will need to ask God’s forgiveness for neglecting His most precious gift: our nation’s children. And while we are training up our own children, we must also take the public schools back from the secularists, humanists, and socialists who have gained a stranglehold on their curricula. Even if we do not have children or grandchildren in the government controlled school systems, we must be deeply concerned about those who will someday govern our nation.

We cannot stick our head in the sand while our nation’s children are held hostage in government indoctrination camps. We dare not leave our most precious resource – our children – to the humanists. Secularization has deeply infected many school systems nationwide, spurred on by anti -Christian groups like the ACLU, People for the American Way, Freedom From Religion Foundation, and other radical groups that systematically coerce administrators into kicking God out the door.

The threat posed to our constitutional republic by socialist indoctrination in government school systems is very real and very present. But the good news is that Liberty Counsel and other pro-liberty groups are standing up against this subversion and are winning the battles! Join with us for the sake of our children and grandchildren. Resist the godless, socialist indoctrination before it’s too late!

Barber: Justice Ginsburg Has Brought 'Shame To America' By Officiating A Same-Sex Marriage Ceremony

Earlier this month, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg became the first Supreme Court justice to officiate a same-sex marriage ceremony and the professional anti-gay bigots over at Liberty Counsel are predictably disgusted.

Matt Barber and Daniel Schmid were deeply disturbed by Ginsburg's participation in a gay wedding, with Barber saying that she had brought "shame to America" by doing so while Schmid said that it proved that the nation was "galloping full speed ahead toward" Gomorrah.

Insisting that no level of government had the right to define the institution of marriage as anything other than what God intended, Schmid said it was a shame that a member of the Supreme Court "would lend credence to such a ceremony and such an abomination," as Barber urged viewers to pray because recognition of gay marriage "essentially results in the criminalization of Christianity":

Wildmon: 'This Is A Culture In Rebellion To God'

Mat Staver was on AFA's "Today's Issues" broadcast this morning discussing Liberty Counsel's on-going legal battles against legislation banning the use of "ex-gay" reparative therapy on minors in states like California and New Jersey.

AFA President Tim Wildmon was particularly mystified by the legislation, saying there is a move toward "promoting transgenderedism" in America and asking Staver if therapists who are prohibited from using "ex-gay" therapy on minors are still allowed to help people transition from one sex to another.

"Believe it or not, you can," answered Staver, which prompted Wildmon to respond with disbelief that "you can help people as long as they want to move to deviancy" and declare that "this is a culture in rebellion to God":

Barber & Akers: Christians Are Now The Victims Of Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Senior Master Sgt. Phillip Monk has become the Religious Right's latest cause célèbre after he was supposedly relieved of duty for opposing gay marriage, which Matt Barber and Shawn Akers see as a sign that "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is still in effect in the military, only now it is being applied to Christians.

"In just a few short years," Akers said we've reached "a place where it very well seems safest not to mention your Christianity; we may have very well entered a time of Don't Ask, Don't Tell Christianity within the United States military."

Barber agreed, saying that "like a hordes of locusts," progressives are out to destroy "every noble institution that adheres to traditional values and righteousness and upholds Biblical principles ... It's sad what's happening to America now, folks":

'Clownish': Staver and Barber Outraged By 'The Transgender Traitor,' Chelsea Manning

Shortly after Bradley Manning was convicted of leaking classified information and sentenced to prison, it was announced that the former Army Intelligence Analyst would transition, undergo hormone therapy, and live as a woman named Chelsea.

Predictably, this is not sitting well with Mat Staver or Matt Barber, who cannot believe that this "transgender traitor" is being taken seriously.

Barber declared that any movement is only as strong as its weakest link and "the weakest link in that big, long LGBTQAAALMNOP ... alphabet soup of the absurd, the 'T' for transgender is the weakest link because it is so far removed and detached from reality ... that it is clownish."

Staver agreed, saying that the next time an airline tried to charge an overweight passenger for a second seat, that person should just argue that "I'm a skinny man trapped in an obese man's body":

Staver: Requiring Photographer to Shoot Same-Sex Wedding Like Forcing Her to Photograph KKK Rally

Not allowing a wedding photographer to discriminate against same-sex couples is the equivalent to requiring  her to photograph a KKK rally, according to Liberty Counsel’s Mat Staver.

In an interview with WorldNetDaily this weekend, Staver took on the New Mexico Supreme Court’s recent decision that a wedding photographer’s refusal to provide her services to a same-sex couple violated a state nondiscrimination law.

Staver argued that the photographer saying that she would photograph gay people, but not in a wedding ceremony, was like her saying that she would photograph white people, but not at a KKK rally.

Staver warned that the decision meant that lawsuits against pastors “right around the corner.”

WND: There’s already fears out there, some churches already putting together certain policy statements, some probably putting together legal funds already in the expectation that there will be a lawsuit over either certain preaching from scripture that adheres to traditional sexual relations or refusing to perform a same-sex ceremony. How soon do you think that’ll hit the fan?

Staver: I think it’s pretty quick. I think it’s right around the corner. I think we saw the decision last week of the Supreme Court of New Mexico saying to a wedding photographer, you’ve gotta give up your religious freedom if you want to be a wedding photographer, you’ve gotta be forced to photograph same-sex ceremonies. I mean, that’s just as absurd as saying you gotta be forced to photograph KKK rallies. You know, someone who says, I’ll photograph white people, I just won’t photograph it when you’re gathering in an event with hoods on your face and you have a KKK rally.

But here, this lady says, well I’ll photograph anybody but I’m not going to photograph a same-sex commitment ceremony, and this court says well, you have to, you must, notwithstanding your religious convictions. Either give up your religious convictions or change them or get out of that profession. That’s the zero-sum game, that’s the zero-sum collision that we’re now facing.

Barber: The African American Community Is Sick Of Gay Activists Trying To Ride The 'Civil Rights Gravy Train'

Mat Staver and Matt Barber are continuing the Religious Right's crusade against a proposed anti-discrimination ordinance in San Antonio, Texas on their "Faith and Freedom" radio program, where Barber declared that such an ordinance is not even necessary because gays are hardly, if ever, discriminated against.

Saying that gay activists are "probably the most powerful lobby in the world," Barber claimed that anti-gay discrimination is rare because people "bend over backwards to avoid being accused of homophobia or discrimination" before going on to assert that "the African American community at large, the vast majority are sick and tired of this sexual anarchist lobby attaching their little red wagon to the civil rights gravy train":

Barber & Staver: Remaining Silent On Abortion Is Just Like Staying Silent During The Holocaust

Likening legal abortion once again to the Nazi Holocaust, Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver and Matt Barber said on the most recent "Faith and Freedom" radio broadcast that those who remain silent on the issue today are no different than those who remained silent while the Nazis murdered millions of Jews, warning that they will be judged accordingly by history.

"This is our modern day holocaust," said Staver, before going on to assert that those who do not speak out in opposition to abortion are standing on the wrong side of history.

Barber then expanded on that point, saying there is "an exact comparison" between the two and declaring that "posterity will view those who stood in silence or who tacitly accepted this abortion holocaust just as history views those who silently stood by and allowed the Nazis to murder millions of Jews":

Mihet: Chris Christie May Face Divine Punishment For Having 'Declared War' On The Gospel, Helping 'Power of Darkness'

Liberty Counsel’s Harry Mihet appeared this week on VCY America’s flagship radio program Crosstalk to discuss with host Jim Schneider the New Jersey law barring the practice of ex-gay therapy on minors. Mihet’s group has filed a lawsuit to block the law, and he told Schneider that the law is really an attack on Christianity.

Mihet quoted Romans 1:32 about people who gave “hearty approval” to those who are “worthy of death,” saying that “we live in Romans 1:32 times and Gov. Chris Christie perfectly encapsulated the substance of this verse.” He argued that by signing the ban on ex-gay therapy for minors, “Chris Christie has essentially declared war” on the “message of the Gospel.”

The Liberty Counsel attorney also suggested that Chris Christie may face divine retribution for defying God: “The Bible says ‘God will not be mocked’ and I believe that and I believe there are consequences for this type of open rebellion of shaking your fist to the almighty God.”

Mihet agreed with a caller who said homosexuality is a “choice” and a “tendency that needs to be overcome,” adding that “there are thousands and thousands of people who used to be a slave to the homosexual lifestyle but who have been able to come out.” He said that he meets ex-gays “all the time” and “sees the passion with which they speak.”

“It defies all truth and logic and common sense to say that it is something that cannot be changed,” Mihet maintained.

Mihet and Schneider even agreed with a caller who alleged that gay people are possessed by demons who work as Satan minions in the Bohemian Grove.

Caller: I don’t think this is true for all homosexuals by any means but I think a lot of them have actually become demonized, especially those in high places like people in relative leadership in our government. I know a lot of them go to the Bohemian Grove where they do like a casting the care ceremony before Moloch and there’s a lot of sexual perversion there. I think a lot of these people have actually become demonized and they are working for their father who is Satan to promote the one world government.

Schneider: Thank you for your thoughts here today. We have seen situations when people rose up and doing things in opposition to Christ that we saw Jesus respond, ‘you are of your father the devil.’ Certainly we know that these are works of darkness but I so appreciate the verse you shared from Corinthians that reminds us ‘such were some of you.’

Mihet: That’s right. I think the power of the darkness in our time cannot be underestimated, I would caution to say not just with the sin of homosexuality but with any other sin that is elevated and perverted and put ahead of the word of God. We have to cling on to the word of God and the promise that it offers healing and forgiveness for every sin and every lifestyle.

Barber & Staver Outraged That Chris Christie Thinks He Knows Better Than God

Shortly after New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed legislation banning the use of "ex-gay" therapy on minors, the anti-gay activists at Liberty Counsel announced that they would be filing suit.

On today's "Faith and Freedom" broadcast, Mat Staver and Matt Barber discussed their forthcoming lawsuit and were particularly outraged that, in signing the legislation, Christie said that he doesn't believe that homosexuality is a sin.

Staver vehemently disagreed, stating that homosexuality "is a disordered situation; it is sin; t is wrong."

Barber was likewise outraged, blasting "the hubris behind him saying that he knows better than God, that he knows better than thousands of years of tradition, the Catholic Church, the Christian church, the Bible about homosexuality and the sin inherent in those behaviors":

Barber: 'It May Be A Time For Civil Disobedience'

Matt Barber appeared on the "Today's Issues" broadcast this morning to discuss his most recent column about a bakery in Oregon which has had a complaint filed against it for refusing to provide a wedding cake to a same-sex couple.

In light of this and similar instances around the country, Barber declared that it has become obvious that gay marriage and religious liberty cannot coexist and so "in much the same fashion as did the civil rights activists of old - Martin Luther King and others - Christians are going to have a decision to make; it may be a time for civil disobedience."

"Christians have been persecuted for 2000 years by radical leftists," he said, adding that just as King spent time in jail, anti-gay Christians today might have to suffer the same fate, knowing that they will be rewarded by God for upholding his law and refusing to "pretend that somehow a man can marry a man, a woman can marry a woman."

"You guys can put on two tuxedos or two wedding dresses and play house and get pretend married 'til your heart's content," Barber said, "but marriage is what God says it is.  We can no more change the laws of gravity than can we change the laws of marriage":

Staver: Legal Abortion Is An 'Absolutely Atrocious Holocaust,' Akin To Nazi Germany

On today's "Faith and Freedom" radio broadcast, Mat Staver and Daniel Schmid of Liberty Counsel were discussing the investigation launched by the General Accounting Office into how organizations like Planned Parenthood spend public funds.

While Staver welcomed the investigation, he was dismayed that it didn't go nearly far enough, demanding to know when America "is going to wake up to this absolutely atrocious holocaust." Likening legal abortion to what happened in Nazi Germany, Staver demanded that politicians stand up and ask "how can humanity continue to condone this kind of barbaric behavior against our own human species!"

Schmid added that it was all rooted in "the wickedness of America and our need to repent and turn back to the Lord" because, just like in Nazi Germany, "those who hate God, love death."

Staver concluded by urging viewers not to "just get frustrated by this bloodthirsty administration," but rather to take a stand and get involved in the fight to outlaw abortion:

Fischer & Mihet: Those Who Oppose ENDA Will Be Charged With Crimes Against Humanity

Last week, a judge refused to dismiss the lawsuit against Scott Lively stemming from his anti-gay advocacy in Uganda.  Today, his lawyer, Harry Mihet of Liberty Counsel, appeared on Bryan Fischer's radio program to discuss the lawsuit, where the two of them speculated that if it succeeds, then anyone who would dare to testify against or oppose a law like the Employment Nondiscrimination Act could be prosecuted for committing crimes against humanity.

"If that is allowed to succeed in the Scott Lively case," Mihet said, "then the very next and logical step would be to take anyone that would oppose legislation in ENDA in the US and to have the charged with international human rights violations, the most heinous of crimes, crimes against humanity, or persecution for doing nothing more than exercising their rights to speak their minds on an issue of public importance in the public square.  At some point, we have to ask ourselves are we still a free country, governed by a constitution with a First Amendment or are we entering an era of fascism when it comes to this issue":

Liberty Counsel Asks Facebook Friends to 'Like' Biblical Death Penalty for Gays

Update: Liberty Counsel has since removed the photo from their page and photo albums.

We know that Liberty Counsel has praised countries that criminalize homosexuality, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Liberty Counsel is citing Leviticus 20:13, which commands that gays are to be put to death, on its Facebook cover photo:

We are eagerly awaiting Liberty Counsel’s other Facebook images on stoning women who had sex before marriage; adultererskids who curse their parents; blasphemerssorcerers; Sabbath-breakers and false prophets.

Crampton: God Is Angry The St. Louis Cardinals Removed A Cross From The Pitcher's Mound

Earlier this year, the grounds crew for the St. Louis Cardinals began drawing a number "6" along with a cross on the pitcher's mound before home games in honor of former Cardinals star Stan Musial, who passed away in January.  When the team's general manager learned about the practice, he asked the grounds crew to stop doing it, saying that it is "not club policy to be putting religious symbols on the playing field or throughout the ballpark."

And that, of course, has outraged Matt Barber and Steve Crampton, who apparently feel that not having a cross etched on the pitcher's mound is some sort of attack on their religious freedom, as Crampton declared that God is now "the dirtiest word that can be spoken in public" while asserting that ending the practice is "an embarrassment for our nation" and an insult to the God-fearing people of St. Louis.

"We are going to find ourselves," Crampton warned, "in grave danger. And so our being embarrassed by a cross on a pitcher's mound is shameful and you can bet that the Creator of Heaven and Earth is not turning a blind eye to what is going on in America today":
