Lawyer Behind Smear Videos: Planned Parenthood's Legal Tissue Donation 'Reminiscent' of 'Nazi Gas Chambers'

Catherine Short, the head of an anti-choice legal group that worked closely with the Center for Medical Progress in its release of a series of videos smearing Planned Parenthood, compared the women’s health group’s legal fetal tissue donations to “Nazi death chambers” in an interview Wednesday with End Times radio host Rick Wiles.

“It’s reminiscent of, you know, with the Nazi gas chambers where it wasn’t enough to kill thousands of innocent people, then they robbed their bodies afterwards,” Short, director of the Life Legal Defense Foundation, told Wiles on his “Trunews” program. “And that’s the difference between this and, you know, the organ donation after death, or something like that, is that, you know, these are the people who caused the death and then they’re profiting off of it.”

“There really isn’t anything else to compare it to other than the Nazi death chambers. Planned Parenthood is on the same level as the Nazis,” Wiles agreed.

Wiles, livid about the temporary restraining order barring the release of two more of the Center for Medical Progress’ videos, argued that “the judge should have been threatening to imprison Stem Express,” a tissue supplier to medical researchers, “for trafficking in human body parts. This should have been the other way around. The judge should have been telling Stem Express, ‘I’m gonna have you locked up for trafficking in human body parts.’ Instead the judge is covering for them.”

“In my opinion, the state police in every state of America should be raiding Planned Parenthood facilities. They should just be conducting SWAT team raids on them,” Wiles advised.

“These are baby killers in there, chopping up babies, using tweezers to pick through their flesh, and taking out their organs and selling their organs,” Wiles continued. “I mean, if you did this any place else other than a Planned Parenthood facility, you would have a SWAT team inside your building.”

The Activists And Ideology Behind The Latest Attacks On Planned Parenthood

The right-wing extremist group behind the recent Planned Parenthood smear has failed to prove any wrongdoing -- but has succeeded at reinforcing long-held myths within the anti-choice movement.

What the GOP Is Calling for When They Advocate Defunding Planned Parenthood

This piece originally appeared in the Huffington Post.

Today Senate Republicans are preparing to vote on legislation to defund Planned Parenthood. GOP presidential candidates including Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, and Rand Paul have jumped on the bandwagon, with Paul calling for a stop to "any penny of money" going to the organization. Jeb Bush called for a congressional investigation.

It's obvious that these attacks are the latest right-wing tactic aimed not only at destroying Planned Parenthood but also at a woman's right to control her own body. It's a campaign borrowing a page from a very old, very repetitive playbook.

But let's be clear about what it means when Republican politicians crusade, over and over, to defund Planned Parenthood.

Calling to defund Planned Parenthood is calling to prevent low-income women from getting lifesaving cancer screenings. It's calling to prevent HIV testing, well-woman exams, and other basic medical services. No matter how you cut it, it's an attack on the health and well-being of women, especially on those least able to afford cuts in services.

Reproductive health advocate Clare Coleman, who formerly headed up a network of Planned Parenthood clinics in New York state, said that although their medical centers nationwide serve patients of all ages, races, genders, and incomes, she described their typical patient as "a working woman between 20 and 24, maybe in school, often with children." That patient, Coleman wrote, lives on an "edge" where "you know you're always one emergency away from everything falling apart."

Calling to defund Planned Parenthood is calling to take away medical care from women who are already struggling to make ends meet.

I have dedicated decades of my life to the opposite work: the movement to make sure women can make our own medical decisions and shape our own futures in a system that respects our autonomy. The struggle to make sure all women, especially women of color and low-income women, have access to reproductive health and reproductive justice.

These GOP leaders, despite lip service to "rebranding" efforts aimed at reaching more women, seem dead-set on just the opposite.

If they are truly concerned about reaching women, maybe they should avoid making the most marginalized women the target of their regressive policy proposals. Maybe they should avoid attacking medical centers that one in five women has relied on.

While GOP politicians repeat tired, dishonest talking points about defunding the "abortion industry," dedicated staff at Planned Parenthood health centers willcontinue to provide critical medical care to people across the country. Who's really fighting for women?

PFAW Releases Report Detailing Activists and Ideology Behind Planned Parenthood Attacks

WASHINGTON – Center for Medical Progress creator David Daleiden, the activist responsible for the recent video attacks on Planned Parenthood, was able to tap into a network of experienced anti-choice figures dedicated to undermining health care for American women, as outlined in a report released by People For the American Way today.

The report, “The Activists And Ideology Behind The Latest Attacks On Planned Parenthood,” maps out far-right activists connected with Daleiden, such as Live Action founder Lila Rose, who has teamed up with James O’Keefe – creator of the deceptive videos that resulted in the collapse of ACORN – to orchestrate similar attacks on Planned Parenthood. Operation Rescue head Troy Newman, who runs a website listing personal information and photographs of abortion providers and once publicly celebrated the death of a provider, serves on the board of Daleiden’s Center for Medical Progress.

Released in advance of the Senate’s expected vote on legislation to “defund” Planned Parenthood today, the report situates these attacks within the long-running right wing campaign aimed at ending legal abortion in our country.

“Anyone who has passed an abortion clinic protest recently knows that these videos recycle a tired tactic: the use of graphic images and the vilification of abortion providers,” said Miranda Blue, Senior Researcher for Special Projects at People For the American Way. “It’s important to see the latest attacks for what they are: one piece of the larger far-right effort to not only shutter Planned Parenthood’s critical women’s health services but to end legal abortion entirely.”

Right-Wing Pundit: 'Slutty' Feminists Want To 'Sacrifice' Your Kids 'To Sex Gods'

WorldNetDaily commentator Patrice Lewis has a message for parents in her column this weekend: “Protect your children. Don’t sacrifice them to the sex gods.”

According to Lewis, the LGBT community and “feminists trying to justify their slutty behavior” are turning kids “into raunchy little mini-adults,” all as part of an attempt to help “Planned Parenthood improve its bottom line” by urging children “to ‘explore their sexuality’ and experiment.”

The indoctrination taking place in school is nothing short of disgusting. Rather than concentrating on reading and writing, math and science, history and geography, students are instructed from kindergarten on the variations in human sexuality, encouraged to choose their gender du jour, and otherwise spoon-fed stimuli far beyond their capacities to comprehend.

It should come as no surprise that Planned Parenthood has an active role in what is euphemistically called “reproductive health services” in middle schools and high schools. With teens not just expected, but actively encouraged to be sexually active, Planned Parenthood stands in the wings to relieve girls of their unplanned “tissue” while refusing to counsel them about any repercussions such as psychological trauma or the increased risk of cancer.

And, as we’ve recently learned, sexualization of children is helping Planned Parenthood improve its bottom line.

One of the consequences of this sexualized culture is the ability to separate sex from procreation. Once upon a time, sex was considered a grave and serious undertaking – which is why it was best expressed within the bounds of marriage, where the consequences of sex had the best chance of a solid foundation. But today, sex is treated as nothing more than an unthinking recreational activity on par with eating ice cream or getting a pedicure.

Children of both genders are urged to “explore their sexuality” and experiment. Girls are told this is “empowering.” The natural consequences of this empowerment are sucked into a sink as unimportant clumps of cells, then the girl is told to return to her (cough) normal life, and the cycle starts again.

So what’s wrong with early sexualization? Since we can no longer just let kids be kids (and instead have to turn them into raunchy little mini-adults), what are the consequences of this early sexualization? I pay particular attention to the effects on girls since we have daughters and no sons.

In contrast to the “empowerment” bleat put out by feminists trying to justify their slutty behavior, sexualization teaches girls they’re not worth much more than the sum of their body parts. Forget what’s between their ears – the only thing that’s important is what’s between their legs. Anything it takes to attract a sex partner – makeup, clothing, behavior, language – becomes the focus of sexualization. Rather than learning to express themselves with their unique talents, gifts, interests or skills, girls are encouraged to flaunt their bodies.

Protect your children. Don’t sacrifice them to the sex gods.

Rick Santorum: Legal Abortion Is 'Genocide,' Planned Parenthood A 'Cancer'

After claiming that books in Massachusetts schools aren’t allowed to feature straight parents, Rick Santorum told “Boston Herald Live” today that the deceptively edited video of a Planned Parenthood official discussing fetal tissue donations show that the government must cut all ties with the organization and criminalize abortion.

“When we as a society allow for the dehumanization of any of our community, then we lead to this type of genocide and it leads to even more, as you see, more horrible — and an insensitivity to the dignity of lives and respect for that life,” Santorum said. “I think Planned Parenthood is a cancer in this country, something that the federal government should not have anything to participate with.”

Santorum, who last week called on the government to “take down Planned Parenthood,” added that the group has a “record of deplorable behavior.”

Rick Santorum: Racist Planned Parenthood Trying To 'Deconstruct Humanity'

Last week on “Washington Watch,” Rick Santorum spoke to Family Research Council President Tony Perkins about an anti-choice group’s deceptively edited video targeting Planned Parenthood, arguing that the reproductive health organization has been corrupt from the get-go.

“The person who started Planned Parenthood was a racist, was a segregationist, was a eugenicist, and they have not strayed far at all from their original idea, which is to deconstruct humanity,” Santorum said.

Santorum also suggested that President Obama is hypocritical for supporting Planned Parenthood: “To see a president who talks about civil rights and talks about discrimination and to see him align himself with an organization with this history, and now this present abuse, illegal criminal activity, for him not to step forward and prosecute this fully just shows you that it’s not a moral issue, it’s simply a power and political issue, and that’s what’s driving the current Democratic Party and this president.”

As we’ve noted previously:

While Santorum is correct that Sanger was a supporter of the eugenics movement, as PolitiFact noted, the movement “had been widely accepted” at the time among political leaders including Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover: “In other words, supporting eugenics did not automatically equal racism.” Biographers have also found that Sanger strongly opposed racial segregation. Instead, her critics have relied on a single quote that they have badly distorted.

Ben Carson: 'The Whole Purpose' Of Planned Parenthood Is To 'Eliminate Black People'

Ben Carson responded to a deceptively edited right-wing video about Planned Parenthood last week by accusing the group’s founder, Margaret Sanger, of trying to “eliminate black people.”

In an interview with Iowa talk radio host Jan Mickelson, Carson responded with outrage to an audio clip of President Obama saying “God bless you” during a speech to Planned Parenthood.

“You wonder if he actually knows the history of Planned Parenthood and Margaret Sanger, who was trying to eliminate black people,” he said. “That was the whole purpose of it.”

His allegation rests on a debunked claim that has circulated through right-wing circles for years that Sanger was using birth control to exterminate the African American community.

Carson also promised that he would use Hillary Clinton’s praise for Sanger and her relationship with Saul Alinsky against her in the presidential race, claiming that he would “educate the people” that the campaign is really about a divide between “American and anti-American things.” This led him to attack the Affordable Care Act, which he said was illegitimately “shoved down our throat” … even though it became a law just as any other law does through an act of Congress.

The GOP candidate later returned to the Planned Parenthood video.

“If we can’t defund Planned Parenthood after this, we’re lost, we’re just in the wilderness forever,” he said. “This is the smoking gun. We’ve always known the kind of organization this and how anti-life they are.”

He also claimed that the video will help him make the case that abortion should be banned: “We can also use this then to help women understand that they are being manipulated. They’re being told, ‘if you can’t kill your baby then somebody is against you,’ when in fact the woman is the protector of that baby, this is one of the sacred relationships of humanity.”

Rick Santorum: 'Take Down Planned Parenthood' To 'Scrub All Racism From America'

Yesterday on “The Simon Conway Show,” Rick Santorum fielded a question about the heavily edited video purporting to show a Planned Parenthood official trying to sell fetal tissue. The unedited video makes clear that she was actually “discussing the reimbursement cost for consensual, legal tissue donations.”

Santorum, ignoring the fact that the video’s claims were quickly debunked, called for a full-scale government investigation into Planned Parenthood and criminal prosecution. He also linked his war against Planned Parenthood to the recent debate over the Confederate flag in wake of the Charleston church shooting.

“If you want to scrub all racism from America, let’s start with Planned Parenthood because it was started by a racist named Margaret Sanger,” he said, alleging that Sanger was bent on “culling out the ‘undesirables,’ including blacks, in America, so if you want to go back and take down the Confederate flag, let’s take down Planned Parenthood because Planned Parenthood has continued to do disgusting things.”

Santorum also criticized Hillary Clinton for receiving the Margaret Sanger Award — whose other honorees include Martin Luther King, Jr., who praised Sanger — claiming that it is “remarkable that she is able to get away with that.” Santorum vowed that if he were to be elected president he would use the bully pulpit to go after Planned Parenthood.

Bauer: If Planned Parenthood Ally Martin Luther King Were Alive Today, He Would Be Fighting Planned Parenthood

Gary Bauer told members of the Campaign for Working Families that if Martin Luther King Jr. were alive today, he would be an anti-abortion activist fighting Planned Parenthood, which Bauer falsely suggested is attempting to commit black genocide:

Far from promoting Planned Parenthood's agenda, Reverend King would expose its racist roots and point out that it deliberately locates abortion facilities in inner city communities. He would weep at that fact, which has resulted in more than 20 million aborted black babies, a death toll the KKK could not reach in its most deranged dreams.

Bauer might want to do his homework, as King actually received the Margaret Sanger Award from Planned Parenthood and told executive committee member Cass Canfield that it “will remain among my most cherished possessions”:

Dear Mr. Canfield:

Words are inadequate for me to say how honored I was to be the recipient of the Margaret Sanger Award. This award will remain among my most cherished possessions. While I cannot claim to be worthy of such a signal honor, I can assure you that I accept it with deep humility and sincere gratitude. Such a wonderful expression of support is of inestimable value for the continuance of my humble efforts.

Again let me say how much I regret that at the last minute urgent developments in the civil rights movement made it impossible for me to be in Washington to personally receive the award. My wife brought glowing echoes of the wonderful reception and impressiveness of the total occasion.

I am happy to be the recipient of the Margaret Sanger Award and I can assure you that this distinct honor will cause me to work even harder for a reign of justice and a rule of love all over our nation.

Sincerely yours,

Martin Luther King Jr.

Bauer may also want to read King’s essay on the importance of family planning and groups like Planned Parenthood for the African American community:

There is a striking kinship between our movement and Margaret Sanger's early efforts. She, like we, saw the horrifying conditions of ghetto life. Like we, she knew that all of society is poisoned by cancerous slums. Like we, she was a direct actionist — a nonviolent resister. She was willing to accept scorn and abuse until the truth she saw was revealed to the millions. At the turn of the century she went into the slums and set up a birth control clinic, and for this deed she went to jail because she was violating an unjust law. Yet the years have justified her actions. She launched a movement which is obeying a higher law to preserve human life under humane conditions. Margaret Sanger had to commit what was then called a crime in order to enrich humanity, and today we honor her courage and vision; for without them there would have been no beginning. Our sure beginning in the struggle for equality by nonviolent direct action may not have been so resolute without the tradition established by Margaret Sanger and people like her. Negroes have no mere academic nor ordinary interest in family planning. They have a special and urgent concern.

Recently the subject of Negro family life has received extensive attention. Unfortunately, studies have overemphasized the problem of the Negro male ego and almost entirely ignored the most serious element — Negro migration. During the past half century Negroes have migrated on a massive scale, transplanting millions from rural communities to crammed urban ghettoes. In their migration, as with all migrants, they carried with them the folkways of the countryside into an inhospitable city slum. The size of family that may have been appropriate and tolerable on a manually cultivated farm was carried over to the jammed streets of the ghetto. In all respects Negroes were atomized, neglected and discriminated against. Yet, the worst omission was the absence of institutions to acclimate them to their new environment. Margaret Sanger, who offered an important institutional remedy, was unfortunately ignored by social and political leaders in this period. In consequence, Negro folkways in family size persisted. The problem was compounded when unrestrained exploitation and discrimination accented the bewilderment of the newcomer, and high rates of illegitimacy and fragile family relationships resulted.

For the Negro, therefore, intelligent guides of family planning are a profoundly important ingredient in his quest for security and a decent life. There are mountainous obstacles still separating Negroes from a normal existence. Yet one element in stabilizing his life would be an understanding of and easy access to the means to develop a family related in size to his community environment and to the income potential he can command.

This is not to suggest that the Negro will solve all his problems through Planned Parenthood. His problems are far more complex, encompassing economic security, education, freedom from discrimination, decent housing and access to culture. Yet if family planning is sensible it can facilitate or at least not be an obstacle to the solution of the many profound problems that plague him.

Troy Newman Threatens Civil Disobedience To Counter Obama's 'Totalitarian State'

Troy Newman of Operation Rescue is obviously not a fan of the decision to name Planned Parenthood affiliates in Iowa, Montana and New Hampshire as “navigators” that will aid people purchasing health insurance plans through new exchanges. In a LifeSiteNews story which suggested “Planned Parenthood employees could abuse” tax information in order “to harass their ideological enemies,” Newman floated “civil disobedience” as possibly “the only solution for an increasingly totalitarian state.”

The anti-choice outlet also quoted Rep. Diane Black (R-TN), who said that the navigators grant would help Planned Parenthood “continue its misuse of taxpayer dollars to [supplement] their big abortion business” and repeated the false claim that the IRS deliberately leaked the National Organization for Marriage’s tax information.

Planned Parenthood employees will soon have access to a vast federal database of sensitive information, including the Social Security number, tax form, bank account, and medical records of every single American citizen as the president seeks their help in implementing ObamaCare.

Consumers purchasing health insurance through health care exchanges will speak to “navigators,” whose job is to help them find the best coverage and determine if they are eligible for a federal subsidy.

Others are concerned Planned Parenthood employees could abuse their access to sensitive information to harass their ideological enemies. The National Organization for Marriage saw its tax forms leaked to a gay rights organization and later printed on The Huffington Post by a full-fledged IRS employee.

“We may have come to the point where civil disobedience might be the only solution for an increasingly totalitarian state,” Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, told “I'm resolved to not comply with the invasion of privacy and taxation without representation.”

“The navigator grants would further enable Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in America, to continue its misuse of taxpayer dollars to [supplement] their big abortion business,” Congresswoman Diane Black, R-TN, said.

Rep. Blackburn Falsely Claims Majority Supports Defunding Planned Parenthood

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is encouraging her colleagues in the House GOP to once again attempt to defund Planned Parenthood, even though in the last election 59% of voters said they were pro-choice and 53% opposed efforts to defund the women’s health organization. But not according to Blackburn, who told Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council yesterday that “the majority of the American people,” and “the majority of American women,” oppose abortion rights and Planned Parenthood funding.

Blackburn claimed that Planned Parenthood “outsources” cancer screenings and birth control services and uses federal money “to subsidize the abortion services,” while Perkins worried that the government was creating a “feeder system for the abortion business” by naming it as a “resource” for women.

Contrary to heir assertions, the government is banned from funding abortion services (which represent just 3% of Planned Parenthood services) and the dollars are not fungible.

Perkins: What they do by giving them this federal money is they set them up as a source, a resource, and it becomes a feeder system for the abortion business that that they have.

Blackburn: Well of course, because as you say money is fungible. The money that is coming in the door that they are saying is there for birth control and cancer screenings and pregnancy planning, all of which they are outsourcing, they still have those dollars. Then they have other dollars that are coming in through abortion or either they are using this money to subsidize the abortion services that they are providing through the mechanism of the fact that those dollars are fungible. You do not have an abortion business and another services business; it is all under one umbrella. People don’t like this, whether they are pro-choice or pro-life, they do not like the fact that you are having taxpayer dollars go for abortion services. The majority of the American people are pro-life, the majority of American women are pro-life and because of that we need to make certain that Planned Parenthood does not get this money and that they are not able to use it to support or stand up or expand their abortion services.

African American Ministers Leadership Council on SCOTUS Planned Parenthood Announcement: All Women Deserve Access to Health Care, Dignity, Autonomy

Today the Supreme Court declined to review a federal appeals court ruling blocking an Indiana law that would have stopped Planned Parenthood from receiving federal Medicaid funding for preventative health screenings.

Rev. Brendolyn Jenkins-Boseman of Aiken, South Carolina, chair of the African American Ministers Leadership Council, released the following statement:

"Today’s decision is a victory for Indiana women and should be a signal to conservative legislatures across the country that are trying to limit women’s access to health care. Our courts have stopped many of these measures, but with proposals to defund Planned Parenthood surfacing across the country, we must remain vigilant.

"Why do conservative politicians still think that playing politics is more important than women’s access to cancer screenings and other vital health services?  While these politicians push for wasteful and unpopular attacks on reproductive justice, many faith leaders and our allies remain committed to fighting for access to safe, affordable, and compassionate health care for all women.  All women deserve dignity and autonomy – over their own bodies and their own futures."

Hutcherson: Satan Behind Obama's Planned Parenthood Speech and Jason Collins Coming Out

Writing for the Christian Post today, Washington state pastor and anti-gay activist Ken Hutcherson said it was no coincidence that Jason Collins came out just days following President Obama’s speech to Planned Parenthood, contending that both incidents were satanically inspired as they will further “evil” and “both go directly against God's Holy Word.”

“The enemy has impeccable timing,” Hutcherson writes, claiming that Satan is using President Obama’s pro-choice policies and the “gay agenda” to persecute Christians.

According to Hutcherson, Obama’s speech was no different than an endorsement of Adolf Hitler or Pol Pot, while “Collins is being used as a pawn, in the most dangerous game of Russian roulette for his soul.”

God’s moral line “has been crossed, and once again Obama has done nothing,” Hutcherson maintains. “Planned Parenthood and their poster child, Dr. Kermit Gosnell, long ago crossed the line, exactly like those going public with their sexual preference.”

Last Friday, April 26th, President Obama became the first sitting president to speak at the National Planned Parenthood Conference. Not only did he speak at this event, but he invoked God's blessing upon them! No president in our history has had the arrogance to openly endorse the slaughter of our unborn, and atrocities against women. Would the American people have ever endorsed the likes of Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Emperor Hirohito, or other mass-murderers as this President has done? And let me mention another genocidal maniac: Dr. Kermit Gosnell of Philadelphia, who 'surprisingly' was not mentioned by the President during his speech, despite working under the policy of Planned Parenthood.

In other news, do any of you believe there is a connection between the Boston Celtic NBA basketball player, Jason Collins, announcing he is gay only 72 hours after President Obama's speech to Planned Parenthood? The answer is a resounding YES! More proof that Christian views are very much under attack! The enemy has impeccable timing.

Collins is being used as a pawn, in the most dangerous game of Russian roulette for his soul. Have you ever noticed that those who support the gay agenda don't like Christians in sports, entertainment, or media? They really don't like us anywhere at all. Let's take Tim Tebow as a classic example. Tebow was asked to keep his beliefs quietly to himself, while Collins is celebrated for the 'heroism' displayed for exposing his off-court activities.

Professional sports teams are now in very serious jeopardy, due in part to the abuse of the word "tolerance". But really, who is intolerant now? Players may not agree or like having a gay teammate, but they will be so intimidated that they may not say anything. If they do say something based on their moral or biblical beliefs, THEY will be the ones disciplined or kicked off the team. Ask Chris Broussard of ESPN. He simply stated homosexuality (along with other acts) is a sin; the way he was attacked, you would have thought he was the spawn of Satan himself.

I can't imagine that Collins, standing in the shower after a game, and knowing the vast majority of his teammates are not gay, will go over very well. How about the players standing in the shower with him, knowing that one of their teammates likes other men? Just saying…

This will have the most negative impact on not only the individual teams, but also on the individuals themselves.

The connection between these two stories should be very obvious: they both go directly against God's Holy Word. After all, God hates hands that shed innocent blood (Prov.617) and is sickened by sodomy (Rom.1:24-27). Unfortunately, our President has chosen to commend rather than condemn these things. These two situations are critically dangerous to our society. Why is the United States of America, and many within the church today, putting God to the test? This is far worse than playing with fire. Last year, President Obama announced that he was drawing a 'red line' in the sand against Syria in regards to them using chemical weapons against the Syrian people. That line has been crossed, and once again Obama has done nothing. Planned Parenthood and their poster child, Dr. Kermit Gosnell, long ago crossed the line, exactly like those going public with their sexual preference.

So, like our administration, are we going to sit idle and do nothing?

Would any previous President of the United States have toasted Adolf Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, or King Herod?, or the organization Of course not. Then why do we tolerate it when the media intentionally overlooks the work of Kermit Gosnell? God is watching us my friends. We need to unite now! It's time for us to draw our own line in the sand, sending a clear message to all who would listen. That message is, we are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, and this is our country. We won't let it be destroyed by a handful of anti-Christian people. So, if you're weary of a government that funds infanticide, that champions sodomy, that calls good "evil" and evil "good", then let's work together to change things around here. Let's do something together that we can't do separately. Let's see how God wants to use us to change our country as we lock arms together. If you want to be part of this movement, join the Black Robe Brigade here. Let's move, Black Robe Brigade, and watch God do awesome things.

Murray: Obama a 'Modern-Day Manasseh' Who 'Seems To Love the Death of Others'

Furious over President Obama’s speech to Planned Parenthood, William Murray took to WorldNetDaily today to compare Obama to the idolatrous and evil king Manasseh for having “crossed God’s red line by petitioning Him to bless abortionists.”

“No president has stood for death and the destruction of the true church of Christ as has Barack Obama,” Murray writes. He goes on to imply that Obama is a Muslim, arguing that only in Islam do people ask God “to assist in murder.”

No president has stood for death and the destruction of the true church of Christ as has Barack Obama. He is a modern-day Manasseh. Barack Obama has supported the takeover by the Muslim Brotherhood of several nations, and the result has been the brutal treatment and murder of Christians. In Syria his administration has supported Islamist fighters who have bombed schools and slaughtered women and children. It is no surprise then that he would take to the stage and ask God to bless abortionists who kill the most helpless and innocent among us – as he did at a Planned Parenthood fundraiser last week.

President Barack Hussein Obama seems to love the death of others, and he seems to believe that God should bless those who murder the innocent. Not since Manasseh, son of Hezekiah, has a national leader asked for blessings through the sacrifice of babies. Manasseh sacrificed his own son to the Canaanite god Moloch, who was worshiped with the burning of children. Barack Obama has crossed God’s red line by petitioning Him to bless abortionists. Barack Obama now rivals Manasseh.

The focus of the Religious Freedom Coalition, of which I am chairman, is the persecuted church. A national leader asking God to bless abortionists is more than an attack on the church; it is an attack on God Himself. In his closing remarks at the Planned Parenthood convention, Barack Hussein Obama petitioned God to bless baby killers.

There is only one modern religion in which God is openly petitioned to assist in murder, and that can be heard in the cry of “Allahu Akbar” by Muslims as they slaughter Christians in Nigerian villages or set off bombs at the Boston Marathon. Perhaps if Obama had paid more attention at church as an adult, and less attention at mosque as a child, he would not ask God to bless those who kill the innocent.

Robertson: Planned Parenthood Inspired Adolf Hitler, Behind 'Genocide' of Black Community

Today on the 700 Club, Pat Robertson said that Margaret Sanger “was the one who set the stage for Adolf Hitler, she didn’t copy him, he copied her.” After running a story about how President Obama postponed his speech at Planned Parenthood in order to attend a memorial service in Texas for victims of the fertilizer plant explosion, Roberston said that the group founded by Sanger is “evil” and targets black people.

“What they said was, they said ‘what we’ve got to do in order to get the black people in America to have abortions, we have to have some noted black leader who will come out for Planned Parenthood and we’ll give him the Margaret Sanger award and therefore he will be our poster boy showing the black people they should have abortions,” Robertson maintained, “it was strictly genocide.”

While Sanger was tied to the eugenics movement, the claim that she intended to exterminate black people and use black leaders to hide such a plan is based on a quote taken badly out of context.

As PolitiFact reports, the eugenics movement was widely popular at the time of Sanger’s work, but there is “no evidence that Sanger advocated - privately or publicly - for anything even resembling the ‘genocide’ of blacks, or that she thought blacks are genetically inferior”:

"I have never run into any serious academic reference of Sanger or others wanting to ‘kill black babies,’" Indiana University professor Ruth Engs, a eugenics movement expert, told PolitiFact Georgia in an e-mail.

The Washington Post also “found nothing to confirm these allegations” that Sanger targeted the black community for genocide and noted that even Martin Luther King, Jr. had praised her work.

The Annenberg Public Policy Center’s debunked the claim when Herman Cain made the same argument as Robertson:

Cain isn’t the first to believe that birth control advocate Margaret Sanger (1879-1966) wanted to stop the birth of black babies. Just do an Internet search and see what happens. Sanger made more than her share of controversial comments. But the quote many point to as evidence that Sanger favored something akin to “genocide” of African Americans has been turned on its head.

Sanger, who was arrested several times in her efforts to bring birth control to women in the United States, set up her first clinic in Brooklyn in 1916. In the late 1930s, she sought to bring clinics to black women in the South, in an effort that was called the “Negro Project.” Sanger wrote in 1939 letters to colleague Clarence James Gamble that she believed the project needed a black physician and black minister to gain the trust of the community:

Sanger, 1939: The minister’s work is also important and he should be trained, perhaps by the Federation as to our ideals and the goal that we hope to reach. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.

Sanger says that a minister could debunk the notion, if it arose, that the clinics aimed to “exterminate the Negro population.” She didn’t say that she wanted to “exterminate” the black population. The Margaret Sanger Papers Project at New York University says that this quote has “gone viral on the Internet,” normally out of context, and it “doesn’t reflect the fact that Sanger recognized elements within the black community might mistakenly associate the Negro Project with racist sterilization campaigns in the Jim Crow south, unless clergy and other community leaders spread the word that the Project had a humanitarian aim.”

It goes on to characterize beliefs such as Cain’s as “extremist.” The project says: “No serious scholar and none of the dozens of black leaders who supported Sanger’s work have ever suggested that she tried to reduce the black population or set up black abortion mills, the implication in much of the extremist anti-choice material.”

The Challenge of “Both-And” Policymaking

People For the American Way Foundation’s Twelve Rules for Mixing Religion and Politics is grounded in our commitment to religious liberty and church-state separation, and in the recognition that fundamental constitutional values sometimes come into creative tension.  Where to draw the lines in any particular situation can be a challenge, and even people who generally agree on constitutional principles may disagree about how they should apply on a given policy question. Nothing demonstrates this complexity more than the Obama administration’s efforts to ensure that American women have access to contraception and reproductive health services while addressing objections that such requirements would violate the conscience of some religious employers.

Religious Right groups and their allies at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops have for months been portraying the Obama administration’s proposed rules requiring insurance coverage of contraception as totalitarian threats to religious liberty, even after the administration adjusted its initial proposal to address those concerns.  Some Religious Right leaders are sticking with their ludicrous “tyranny” message even after the Obama administration today released a further revision that broadens the number of religious groups that will be exempt from new requirements while still guaranteeing women access to contraception.

In describing the policy proposal, HHS Deputy Director of Policy and Regulation Chiquita Brooks-LaSure told reporters, “No nonprofit religious institution will be forced to pay for or provide contraceptive coverage, and churches and houses of worship are specifically exempt.” Under the plan, women who work for such organizations would have access to no-cost contraception coverage through other channels.

Here’s where it gets interesting: The new proposal won praise both from Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice Americaand from right-wing ideologue Bill Donohue of the Catholic League, who called it “a sign of goodwill by the Obama administration toward the Catholic community.”

In contrast, the proposal was slammed by the far-right Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America – and by Catholics for Choice, which said, “While protecting contraceptive access under the ACA is a win for women, the administration’s caving in to lobbying from conservative religious pressure groups is a loss for everyone.” Catholics for Choice warned that a broadened exemption for religious groups “gives religious extremists carte blanche to trump the rights of others” and that women working at Catholic organizations “are wondering whether they’ll be able to get the same coverage as millions of other women, or if their healthcare just isn’t as important to the president as their bosses’ beliefs about sex and reproduction.”

James Salt, executive director of Catholics United, portrayed the approach as a win-win. “As Catholics United said from the very beginning, reasonable people knew it was right to be patient and hopeful that all sides could come together to solve this complex issue. The White House deserves praise in alleviating the Church’s concerns.”

Leading advocates for women’s heath praised the new approach.  Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood said the group would be taking a look at the details, but said “This policy makes it clear that your boss does not get to decide whether you can have birth control.” A statement from NARAL Pro-Choice America said the group“is optimistic that these new draft regulations will make near-universal contraceptive coverage a reality.”

Meanwhile, anti-choice advocates that have been pushing for rules that would exempt even individual business owners who have objections to providing contraceptive coverage for their employees complained that the new exemption would not extend to private businesses.

Concerned Women for America President Penny Nance said the new rules show Obama’s “intent to trample the religious liberties of Americans” and said, “When religious groups and individual Americans are forced to deny their deeply held religious convictions, it is not called “balance,” it’s called “tyranny.” The Family Research Council repeated Religious Right characterizations of the previous accommodation as an “accounting gimmick.”

People For the American Way believes that the government has a compelling interest in ensuring that women have access to family planning services. Indeed, Dr. Linda Rosentock, dean of the UCLA's school of public health and a member of the Institute of Medicine committee that was part of the review process on the HHS regulations, testified last year that the Centers for Disease Control has ranked family planning as one of the major public health achievements of the 20th Century.

People For the American Way is also deeply concerned about the efforts by  Religious Right groups and its conservative Catholic allies to re-define “religious liberty” in unprecedented ways that would allow groups to take taxpayer dollars without abiding by reasonable regulations such as anti-discrimination requirements – and to allow private employers and others to claim exemption from all kinds of laws based on “religious” or “moral grounds.”

In this case, we believe the Obama administration has acted in good faith to promote the nation’s public health interests while addressing concerns that those policies might burden religious liberty.  Our courts have long recognized that religious liberty, like the freedom of speech, is not absolute, and that policymakers must often balance competing interests. That is what the administration has done.

Wisconsin Lawmaker Suggests Planned Parenthood Is Targeting Asian Americans for Abortion

In an interview yesterday, Wisconsin Republican state senator Glenn Grothman suggested that Planned Parenthood is promoting sex-selective abortions to Asian Americans. While speaking to Jim Schneider of Voice of Christian Youth America, Grothman called Planned Parenthood “the most racist organization” in the country and speculated that Planned Parenthood is “aggressively promoting this stuff [sex-selective abortion] among people with an Asian background.”

Grothman: Given the racist background of Planned Parenthood and not liking people who are not white, I wonder if one of the reasons why Planned Parenthood likes to do these sex-selective abortions is disproportionately they are done on people of an Asian background. Let’s face it; we all know Planned Parenthood’s background, very racist, probably the most racist organization—

Schneider: They specialize in putting their centers in minority neighborhoods.

Grothman: We know the historic comments of Margaret Sanger. It’s something that concerns me a little because I wonder given their racism the degree to which Planned Parenthood is aggressively promoting this stuff among people with an Asian background and I sure hope the state legislature takes a role and puts an end to it, at least in the state of Wisconsin.

Grothman has previously claimed that single moms deliberately lie about their pregnancies and voted against a bill providing survivors of sexual assault emergency contraception. Planned Parenthood has already condemned sex-selective abortions but many anti-choice activists have argued, without much evidence, that such abortions are a “growing problem” in the U.S.

Fischer: Abortion Rights Will Lead to Terrorist Attacks

Yesterday on Focal Point, American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer marked the anniversary of Roe v. Wade by predicting that America “will have to pay” for legal abortion: “It could be through civil war, it could be through anarchy, it could be through Muslim fundamentalists and terrorists attacks on the United States, but one way or another we cannot escape God’s justice.”

He went on to argue that Planned Parenthood clinics are no different from Nazi death camps. “You see a Planned Parenthood clinic, just think Birkenau, just think Auschwitz, just think Bergen-Belsen,” Fischer said, “because that’s what you are looking at, you are looking at an equivalent of a Nazi gas chamber.”

Later, he repeated the false charge that Planned Parenthood promotes domestic abuse to its members.

Just like other conservative leaders, Fischer never found time to watch the video he is so angry about. If he did he would learn that it’s a British anti-violence video that uses an intentionally misleading title to deliver the real message: “Don’t cover it up.”

Troy Newman Compares Planned Parenthood Fight to World War II, Underground Railroad

Operation Rescue head Troy Newman appeared on The Janet Mefferd Show yesterday to discuss the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and new tactics to recriminalize abortion and fight Planned Parenthood, making sure not to mention the growing support for Roe. Newman said that Operation Rescue and other anti-choice groups must act like the allied bombers who destroyed Nazi arms factories during World War II.

Newman: I’ll give you a little analogy; in 1943 the allied forces sent 1,500 bombers into Germany to destroy the ball-bearing factories and the aviation factories because they knew without ball-bearings they couldn’t produce armaments and methods to destroy the allied forces. So I want to diminish the enemy’s ability to make war on children and I’ve got several plans we’ll be talking about but that that’s the idea. They are going to be well-funded, they are going to be governed by the most radical pro-abortion president ever and the Supreme Court but we’re going to be going after their ability to make war on children.

He also compared the Operation Rescue demonstrations, which have been linked to violence, to abolitionists working in the Underground Railroad and called on activists to channel Gideon, whose 300-man army destroyed the Midianites in the Book of Judges. “I think I told you on a previous radio show, I got tired of going to jail,” Newmain said, “it’s the abortionists that need to go to jail.”

Newman: We peacefully came and laid down our lives and they asked us to leave, ‘Get out that door, go away, get off this property,’ we’d say, ‘I’m sorry I cannot in good conscience get up because if I do the abortionist will come in and he will kill children. So they beat us up and they threw us in jail and they sued us into oblivion and then they passed a federal law to make it a federal crime, a lot like the Fugitive Slave Act. If you were running the Underground Railroad you could face federal time for harboring slaves.

Mefferd: And the RICO lawsuit, the racketeering, it was supposed to be a law used to go after the mob and they started using it against pro-lifers. How much did the lawsuit filing by NARAL and NOW and all these groups, how much damage did that do to Operation Rescue and other big pro-life organizations in terms of the strategies you employed?

Newman: For us rescue was going away anyway because of the massive amounts of jail time. I think I told you on a previous radio show, I got tired of going to jail; it’s the abortionists that need to go to jail. So we were changing our tactics anyway. I think what it did to the rest of the pro-life movement is it made them more fearful of the government and what they could possibly do to them then what happened in actuality. At the end of the day, I’m still standing, I’m still rescuing, I’m still more resolved to end this child-killing than I was back then so they just made me a better pro-lifer.

Mefferd: That’s great. We need about 100 million of you, Troy.

Newman: I’d settle for about—Gideon, 300 courageous men in America that will stand up against Planned Parenthood and we will win the day.
