Ex-Gay Group Praises Texas GOP, Compares Anti-Gay Activists To Opponents Of The Ku Klux Klan

Writing on behalf of the ex-gay group Voice of the Voiceless on Monday, DL Foster praised Texas Republicans for adopting a resolution in support of ex-gay therapy.

Foster, likening the GOP’s ex-gay resolution to the fight against anti-black discrimination at the hands of groups like the Ku Klux Klan, attacked “the anti-American actions of liberals who continue to deny rights and suppress hope for potential millions of Americans seeking avenues to change sexual and emotional dysfunctions.”

He even claimed that prohibitions on ex-gay therapy for minors, such as laws recently passed in California and New Jersey, would prevent survivors of sexual abuse “from getting much needed counseling” and encourage “suicidal” thoughts.

Bucking the trend to punish citizens who seek counseling for unwanted same sex attractions —and the professionals who want to help them— the Texas GOP took an unusual step and voted to affirm therapy equality. The move would have made African American Texas GOP pioneer Norris Wright Cuney (1846-1898) proud. When Cuney and other African Americans were building the party in Texas, passion to build a better social and economic future for African Americans was the catalyst that birthed their innovative drive. At that time, there existed no promises of “affirmative action” to lull them into complacency. What they did face was the consistent attacks of the Democrat-led Klan who conspired at every turn to block access to the well being [sic] of black American citizens.

There was strong and widespread support for passage of the resolution among Texas conservatives, perhaps fed up with the anti-American actions of liberals who continue to deny rights and suppress hope for potential millions of Americans seeking avenues to change sexual and emotional dysfunctions. Rape, molestation and sexual abuse have been at the root of much sexual confusion. The New Jersey legislation was dubbed the “Jerry Sandusky Victimization Act”, because opponents contended it would prevent victims of abuse and molestation who subsequently developed homosexual inclinations, from getting much needed counseling.

State legislatures must understand that its immoral to enshrine into law deprivation of therapy equality. No American should have to go day after day tortured and suicidal because he or she has been told there are no options and no choices for them. LGBT Americans have the freedom to seek counseling to affirm their homosexual behavior and its big business. The San Francisco based Gaylesta, a “GLBTQ Psychotherapy Association” lists some 250 mental health professionals available to homosexuals. Why are EXGLBT Americans treated differently? Why give some unlimited options for personal happiness but deprive others of even one hopeful avenue of change? Why is the fate of their happiness and the happiness of their families placed in the hands of people who despise them? Aren’t all Americans guaranteed the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

This isn’t empty complaining, but the stark reality that in America homosexual activists are pursuing legal tools to punish people who simply want freedom from a crippling sexual and emotional condition.

Ex-Gay Pride Leaders: 'Homosexual Activists' Fund Fred Phelps, Dumb Dads On TV Turn Kids Gay

Last week, Ex-Gay Pride Month organizers Christopher Doyle and Chuck Peters of Voice of the Voiceless spoke to American Family Association talk show host Sandy Rios about how strong women and “stupid,” “buffoon” dads on television are turning kids gay.

As a result, boys begin idolizing women and female celebrities while seeing “this caricature of men on TV,” which somehow makes them gay.

Peters: I split off that side of myself, the masculine side, the boyhood side. I thought ‘I’m not going to be a man, I’m going to be like a woman.’ So I way-over-identified with my mother. That’s why I believe a lot of gay-identified men really worship these celebrities, these strong women, like Madonna or Cher or Lady Gaga because these women are strong women, like the mom that I grew up with, that are very opinionated, have a chip on their shoulder, wear the pants in the family, and these are the women that I wanted to be like or I wanted to identify with because I didn’t have a man in the house who wore the pants, who would teach me how to be a man.

Rios: That seems to be the theme, Chris, so often.

Doyle: You see any straight heterosexual male on TV is now the buffoon.

Rios: Don’t I know it? All the dads are stupid and all the women are supermoms. I’m the antifeminist, if you want to complain about that you’ve came to the right studio. I just can’t stand what they’ve done to manhood.

Doyle: It’s absolutely damaging for kids. In so many minority cultures now it’s still an epidemic problem that the father is not in the home. Then they turn on the TV, which is basically where they have to go because they don’t have two parents in the house and dad’s not there, then they see this caricature of men on TV.

Doyle also seems pretty sure that Westboro Baptist Church pastor Fred Phelps is “funded by homosexual activists” to make anti-gay groups look bad.

He told Rios that he can’t explain how else Phelps “gets all that money to do all of that.”

Actually, the church makes its money through its family law firm, Phelps-Chartered, and by winning or settling cases surrounding its demonstrations.

Peters also decried bills limiting the use of ex-gay therapy, which he said will lead to deaths: “If you want to kill somebody and force somebody into suicide, take away hope. And that’s what these pending bills and that’s what the bill in California is doing and the bill that was passed and signed by Gov. [Chris] Christie is doing, the blood of these minors who commit suicide because they can’t go to a licensed therapist will be on the hands of Gov. Christie and Gov. [Jerry] Brown who both signed these bills into law.”

Ex-Gay Activist: Gay Rights Movement To Blame For Anti-Gay Laws In Uganda, Nigeria & Russia

Ex-gay activist Christopher Doyle claims that while he doesn’t necessarily approve of harsh anti-gay laws in Uganda, Nigeria, India and Russia, he believes that the laws are fitting responses to the gay rights movement in the United States for being mean to anti-gay activists like himself.

“Gay activism has forced a political correctness on many Western cultures, [Doyle] says, which prevents those who believe in traditional marriage from sharing their beliefs without repercussions,” the Christian Post reports, while noting that such laws are “‘overly punitive’ and could create an environment of fear instead of one where people struggling with [same-sex attraction] can get help.”

In a blog post today, Doyle seems to deny that these crackdowns on gay people are even taking place, and is angry that such stories are receiving media attention: “Gay activists continue to play the victim card around the world, but their story is getting old. However, the media still plays into their narratives.”

Doyle also believes that “intolerant” gay rights advocates are bent on attaining Communism and “global dominance.”

Gay activists continue to play the victim card around the world, but their story is getting old. However, the media still plays into their narratives. For example, just this week Bill O’Reilly had Juan Williams and another commentator slam Vladimir Putin’s recent comments, telling gays to “leave the children in peace” when athletes come to Sochi for the Olympic games in February.

O’Reilly and company joked about how un-evolved and ignorant Putin is when it comes to gay rights while condemning the Russian anti-gay propaganda law, which passed in their legislative body 436-0. But in actuality, O’Reilly and just about the entire mainstream media are really the ones who are unable to think critically on this issue.

As I said in The Christian Post article, anti-gay laws in countries like Uganda, Nigeria, India, and Russia are not being created in a vacuum. I would argue that they are also not in direct response to indigenous gay rights movements. These countries are enacting laws as a response to gay activists’ intolerance towards traditional views on marriage and sexuality, and their attempts to silence the speech and beliefs of those who disagree with them. These activists are largely succeeding with their goals in Western countries, and are now importing their Communist strategies into other non-Western countries to achieve global dominance.

'Satanic Drag Queen' Turned Ex-Gay Hero Not Exactly Ex-Gay

Last month, the “ex-gay” organization Voice of the Voiceless awarded its “Courage Award” to Trace McNutt, a “satanic drag queen” turned ex-gay activist.

But during an interview with conservative radio host Janet Parshall, McNutt admitted he was not “healed” of his homosexuality (for example, he says he fell in love with the male bassist in his Christian rock band).

“We know God heals some and others he doesn’t,” he told Parshall. “For me, the thorn remains…. Not all homosexuals get delivered of the same-sex attraction.”

Like other ex-gay activists, McNutt shared a harrowing life story of drug abuse and family problems, which are depicted as typical the life of the average gay man. McNutt said he became a sex addict and slept with “up to thirty people a day” in order to “get that masculine bond that I never got.”

“Not only was I a sex addict, but I was a homosexual on top of it, almost felt like a double whammy, you know?”

Only Fifteen 'Ex-Gay Activists' Show Up For 'Ex-Gay Awareness Month' Lobby Day

Despite claims that “there are more ex-gay people in the world than there are gay people in the world” and that there are “thousands of ex-gays” ready to march on Washington and make their voices heard, ex-gay gatherings always seem to assemble just a small handful of people. And it’s always the exact same people.

Ex-Gay Awareness Month, which immediately followed the disastrous Ex-Gay Pride Month lobby day, managed to muster “about 15 ex-gay activists to lobby Capitol Hill” yesterday.

Seeing that Congress was in the midst of a battle over the government shutdown and the debt ceiling, ex-gay activists may have wished they chose a different day to come to Washington.

While organizers denied Right Wing Watch’s registration to the dinner focused on getting more attention for stories from ex-gays, the conservative outlet WORLD was allowed into the event, and reported that activists vowed to go on the offensive:

Greg Quinlan, president of PFOX, led a group of about 15 ex-gay activists to lobby on Capitol Hill earlier in the day. “In order to win the culture war on homosexuality, it’s going to take ex-gays telling their stories,” Quinlan said during fiery remarks that prompted a standing ovation.

Bishop Harry Jackson, pastor of Hope Christian Church in Washington, finished the evening with a keynote address urging former homosexuals not to back down and let the naysayers stop them from fulfilling their God-given potential.

“Gay activists have actually paved the way for us,” said Christopher Doyle, president of Voice of the Voiceless. “We need to scream and yell for equality and justice for all. We can no longer afford to be on the defensive.”

Ex-Gay Pride Hide And Seek

How do you raise “awareness” in total secrecy?

The “Ex-Gay” community loves to complain that LGBT acivists, the media, and public officials ignore their existence. They portray themselves as martyrs to political correctness.  And they’re tired of it! So this year, they decided to make a big splash.

Unfortunately, plans for an “Ex-Gay Pride Month” in July imploded: a rally expected to draw “tens of thousands” drew fewer than a dozen.  A dinner celebration planned for the Family Research Council building was postponed with vague explanations about security concerns.

Organizers – including Voice of the Voiceless, Equality and Justice for Fall, and PFOX – regrouped and declared September to be “Ex-Gay Awareness Month.”  The culmination of the month is supposed to be this coming Monday’s “First Annual Ex-Gay Awareness Month Dinner and Reception.” Organizers have lined up anti-gay activist Harry Jackson to give the keynote address, and Liberty Counsel’s Mat Staver – whose anti-gay credentials are unquestionable – to receive the “2013 Ex-Gay Pride Freedom Award.”  Also set to be honored is a “former Satanic drag queen,” Trace McNutt.

What is not clear is how the event will raise the “awareness” of anyone except the attendees.  The event is being held at a secret location. Organizers asserted their right to exclude anyone who they didn’t think was already completely signed on to their agenda.  My payment was returned without explanation. When I sent a note asking if my registration had been rejected, I received a one-word reply: Yes.

As I told PFOX, I had no intention of being a disruptive presence. I just wanted to hear and report on what was said. You know, bring some awareness to the event. But then I took another look at the registration form and found this disclaimer:

Code of Conduct -- PFOX requires attendees to sign and adhere to certain standards of conduct, and is not responsible for the individual conduct of attendees. We reserve the right to refuse any person to register or attend for any or no reason at our sole discretion, and disruptive conduct will be grounds for removal without a refund. Attendee agrees to uphold the principals [sic] and beliefs of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays -- that we support the ex-gay community, ex-gay rights, and providing hope to those with unwanted same-sex attractions and gender confusion that change is possible. No cell phones, recording devices or photos may be used or taken during the event. I agree to the above conditions

No photos. No recording. No one who doesn’t already agree with them. They must be bursting with pride.

Doyle: LGBT Community The 'Oppressors' Of Straight People

After Ex-Gay Pride Month was a complete disaster, to say the least, ex-gay activist Christopher Doyle appeared yesterday on Sandy Rios In The Morning to promote his latest event: Ex-Gay Awareness Month.

Rios wanted to know why the White House held a meeting with bisexual leaders while leaving out ‘ex-gays’ like Doyle, who told the American Family Association radio host that it is another sign that straight people like himself are facing discrimination by their “powerful oppressors” in the LGBT community.

“I think that what is really going on is there’s an effort by the White House and by politicians in rank and charge to include and recognize every single sexual orientation, sexual deviance, sexual preference and sexual lifestyle out there except for heterosexuals and ex-gays,” Doyle said. “So the people who say they are oppressed are the ones that are now politically powerful oppressors.”

'Satanic Drag Queen' Is Ex-Gay Of The Year

Liberty Counsel’s Mat Staver won’t be the only person honored at this year’s Ex-Gay Awareness Month festivities. The event’s organizers, Voice of the Voiceless, announced today that a former “Satanic Drag Queen” will receive their “Courage Award.”

Trace McNutt said in an interview with ex-gay leader Christopher Doyle that he became involved in drag when he learned that “the rock stars and the royalty of the gay world were the drag queens” and as a result turned into “an alien, sexual deviant creation…satanic version of a drag queen.” After battling drug addiction and homelessness, he realized that homosexuality was a choice and started attending church where “some of the most masculine, butchest men reached into my life and loved me.”

DL Foster: Satan Is 'Convincing People They Were Born Gay' And Has 'Sucked' Ex-Gays Back In

D.L. Foster of Voice of the Voiceless and Ex-Gay Pride/Awareness Month has posted on his blog a handy explanation of why homosexuality is a sin and possibly the worst sin of them all. He writes that homosexuality is no “average sin on par with others” mainly because it is becoming more socially acceptable as “so many people [are] bound in it and cant [sic] get out.”

“So many people who get out get sucked back into it,” he laments. Foster asserts that Satan is “convincing people that they were born gay and should cease struggling and accept it.”

If homosexuality isn’t the biggest/greatest sin, then why are so many people bound in it and cant [sic] get out? Why is the devil convincing people that they were born gay and should cease struggling and accept it? Why do so many people who get out, get sucked back into it?

If homosexuality is just an average sin on par with the others, then why is the whole world (literally) being seduced into accepting it as normal? Why has the most powerful man in the world (POTUS) made it his personal mission to advocate for it worldwide? Why does it strike such fear in the hearts of Christian preachers with thousands of followers, rendering them silent?

Foster is also upset about the response of gay rights advocates to Russia’s ban on homosexual “propaganda,” asserting that “the homosexual community as a whole are [sic] like a mob of angry 4 year olds” and are too mean in their protests against Vladimir Putin.

“Their President, patron saint, CinCity and frequent White House private gay party host Barak [sic] Obama has taken the panic defense to new levels of desperation,” Foster continues, “Obama has bravely dedicated his life to the success of the gay comrades.”

Since Vladimir Putin, the Russian president put his official boot down on homosexuality in that nation, homosexuals worldwide have went into Code red panic mode. They act as if Russia is the only place in the world they can live, eat and buy children for their manufactured families. In typical sky is falling neurosis, America’s gay community has hit the supermarket floor screaming. And there is no consoling them.

To make matters worse, Putin made it a package deal and offered free therapy for any homosexual who wanted to make a change. Its [sic] unclear if he did this in response to the US banning the same type therapy. See below.

This is no lie and no exaggeration. The homosexual community as a whole are [sic] like a mob of angry 4 year olds who have been told they can’t eat that pack of gummy worms right before dinner. This is why psychotherapists (before the APA was hijacked in 1973) labeled it a disorder. If you don’t believe that just look at the angry little coloring experiment they did on Putin. And generally they do this to every world leader who denies them the gummy worms. They use the color by numbers template and make him look like a woman. Or they do those willy wonka kiss-ins. Very jejune.

Gays aren’t the only ones nearing mental breakdown. Their President, patron saint, CinCy and frequent White House private gay party host Barak [sic] Obama has taken the panic defense to new levels of desperation. Despite a dismal economy, off the radar, black on black gun violence in his “home city” Chicago and one of the most dysfunctional governments in modern history, Obama has bravely dedicated his life to the success of the gay comrades.

Ex-Gay Activists Demand Apology From Exodus International

Christopher Doyle, who organized the disastrous Ex-Gay Pride Month and the upcoming Ex-Gay Awareness Month, believes that Exodus International should apologize to ex-gay activists like himself for shutting down and renouncing sexual orientation conversion therapy. The ex-gay ministry recently closed its doors as its former leader Alan Chambers apologized to the gay community and admitted that ex-gay therapy doesn’t work.

Doyle, of Richard Cohen’s International Healing Foundation and a new ex-gay group Voice of the Voiceless, accused Chambers of “throwing some ex-gay leaders under the bus” and acting in an “inappropriate” manner.

He even wrote a passive aggressive letter that he wants Exodus to “offer to the ex-gay community” as an apology for its “ignorance,” “narcissism,” and refusal to accept “cutting-edge therapeutic techniques that were developed to help individuals heal the wounds that lead to [same-sex attraction].”

“Please forgive Alan Chambers for leaking confidential e-mails of our former colleagues to a homosexual activist website who used it against them. That was really bad!”

Following the bizarre letter, Doyle predicted that Exodus “will continue to walk in blindness” and “lead others into similar confusion.”

In preparation for their closure in late July, the leadership of Exodus embarked on a global apology tour. First, with their President Alan Chambers’ appearance on “Our America” with Lisa Ling to say he’s sorry to several participants who felt they were harmed by the work of Exodus. Next, with several visits to churches and Christian universities across the United States. And most recently, before officially closing their doors, their Vice President offered yet another apology to gays, while at the same time, throwing some ex-gay leaders under the bus.

While I believe the apologies are sincere are well-meaning, some of these statements, specifically their condemnation of the work of ex-gay leaders, both within and outside the Exodus International umbrella, are inappropriate and ill-advised. In short, while attempting to right some wrongs for members of the gay community they hurt, the Exodus leadership is “throwing the baby out with the bathwater” when it comes to ex-gays.

It’s really troubling to see these daggers thrown at the ex-gay community without a proper response. So rather than simply point out the errors in the Exodus leadership, I am going to propose an apology that the now extinct Exodus International Board of Directors should offer to the ex-gay community.

Dear Ex-Gay Community,

We are sorry that the leadership of Exodus International didn’t seek out professional psychotherapy to understand the roots of our homosexual feelings. Instead, we merely repressed our urges and hoped that God would take them away if we prayed hard enough.

We also deeply regret that we didn’t pursue advanced degrees in counseling or psychology so we could truly help others who were struggling with unwanted SSA resolve their issues and experience real change.

Now that we look back at our leadership, relying on clichés, slogans, and simplistic answers to complex sexual orientation issues was not the way to go. Rather than embrace cutting-edge therapeutic techniques that were developed to help individuals heal the wounds that lead to SSA, we are deeply saddened that we attacked our allies in the psychological community, most of who are also people of faith. Out of fear and ignorance, we failed to embrace solutions that could bring about real and lasting change.

We would like to ask for forgiveness for making statements, pronouncement, and judgments on behalf of dozens of Exodus member-ministries across the USA, instead of seeking their feedback and making decisions based on a consensus. In essence, our Board of Directors behaved as an oligarchy instead of a democracy. When the members we ruled over didn’t like our direction, instead of humbly listening to them, we promptly dismissed them, arrogantly condemned them, and swiftly exiled them.

Finally, we are sorry that once we realized we were unable to effectively lead, we did not appoint more qualified individuals to take over Exodus International. Instead, our narcissism allowed us to mistakenly believe that if we couldn’t help individuals who experience SSA pursue heterosexuality, than no one could or should.

How foolish of us to believe that our member ministries would stand aside and allow us to destroy their work and reputations. We are sorry that our bad leadership has fragmented the ex-gay community and caused over half of our member ministries to leave and form the Restored Hope Network. We also regret that this has created a great financial difficulty for our organization and caused many of us unemployment.

Yours truly,

Exodus International Board of Directors

PS: Please forgive Alan Chambers for leaking confidential e-mails of our former colleagues to a homosexual activist website who used it against them. That was really bad!

In summary, because the ex-gay community will never receive this apology from the leadership of Exodus International, I will summarize as to what you can expect from them moving forward.

They will continue to struggle with their own homosexual feelings. They will continue to walk in blindness over the causes and meaning of their SSA, and therefore, lead others into similar confusion. Lastly, they will continue to (try to) be buddies with homosexual activists while rejecting the truth that ex-gay ministries offer. How very sad that the largest and most influential ex-gay ministry has resorted to a popularity club for their narcissistic leaders.

September Is 'Ex-Gay Awareness Month'… That Is If America Survives the Repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell

UPDATE: It appears that Voice of the Voiceless removed the post on DADT. Ironically, Foster has routinely accused gay rights groups of stifling his speech...but now his own organization seems to have done just that.

Since Ex-Gay Pride Month in July was an absolutely phenomenal success, Voice of the Voiceless announced on Friday that September will be Ex-Gay Awareness Month:

FIRST ANNUAL EX-GAY AWARENESS LOBBYING DAY AND DINNER

As a part of the First Annual Ex-Gay Awareness Month in our nation’s schools, Voice of the Voiceless and Equality and Justice for All are pleased to announce a lobbying day and evening dinner on September 30, 2013! More details to come in August.

Event Details

September 29, 2013 (7:00pm – 9:00pm) – Pre-Event Day Get Together and Lobbying Education Training (Location to be disclosed when you register)

September 30 (9:00am – 4:00pm) – Lobbying Congress and Senate on Capitol Hill (Appointments made on your own)

September 30 (6:00pm – 9:00pm) – Ex-Gay Awareness Dinner (Speakers TBA)

Today, the group kicked off Ex-Gay Awareness Month with a post by co-founder DL Foster that said the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell meant that “something Al Qaeda can’t do” — the decimation of the military — “will be accomplished by our own hands.”

The assassination of DADT created an even larger, more critical issue for the military who right now is a general with no clothes on. One is that its given this unchecked, almost covert power, to a group of people who demonstrated numerous times that they want revenge for the perceived and real injustices done to them by their heterosexual neighbors. Sure, its been conveniently called “equality,” but we needn’t look any further than the growing rash of anti-church, anti-ex-gay laws and policies being rushed to the front lines as evidence that revenge is a motive.

Just look at the venomous language used by gay-hatchet group “Truth Wins Out” (ironic I know) and its commentators, and the case is closed.

Secondly, giving “sexual orientation” unofficial power offset the very balancing nature of the UCMJ. The UCMJ was an equalized to all sexual lifestyles that carried a threat to the good discipline and order within the ranks. It kept in check adultery, fraternization, and homosexuality, at least to the degree that we all felt equal under military law.

But now, homosexuality has the “get out of jail” free card while the other proclivities are still in stripes. That’s patently unfair. It’s an unspoken belief that soon because the filed will need to be leveraged, other sexual activities will go the way of homosexuality and be sanctified. Then something Al Qaeda can’t do will be accomplished by our own hands.

'Ex-Gay' Activist: 'Hip Hip Hurray for Ex-Gays!'

Speaking at today’s Ex-Gay Pride rally in front of the Supreme Court, Chuck Peters condemned gay rights advocates for being “heterophobic,” “bigoted,” and “anti-pro-choice.” Peters is a research assistant with Christopher Doyle’s Voice of the Voiceless, a group that describes itself as “the only anti-defamation league for former homosexuals.”

“We are ex-queers and we’re not going anywhere so get used to us!” Peters exclaimed. He then went on to create his own cheer for the ex-gay movement.

“Hip hip hurray for ex-gays. Hip hip hurray for ex-gays. Hip hip hurray for ex-gays.”

Fewer Than Ten People Show Up For Ex-Gay Pride Event That Expected to Draw 'Thousands'

Yesterday, American Family Radio’s Sandy Rios spoke to Ex-Gay Pride Month organizer Christopher Doyle about today’s ex-gay lobby day on Capitol Hill. Doyle, who was organizing the since-canceled Ex-Gay Pride banquet at the Family Research Council, complained in an interview with the Christian Post that “un-American” LGBT rights advocates have “shut us out,” explaining that “because of all this homo-fascism and indoctrination in the media, ex-gays aren’t given a fair shake.”

Rios confidently predicted that “thousands of ex-gays are descending” on Washington for a press conference planned for today at the Supreme Court. She lamented that when she led Concerned Women for America the media refused to hear “our ex-gay friends” because it “undermined the whole effort of the homosexual lobby.”

Doyle told Rios that “tens of thousands” of ex-gays exist but are “in the closet because of fear, shame and threats from gay activists.”

Well, despite the expectation that “thousands of ex-gays” would partake in Ex-Gay Pride Month, fewer than ten people showed up for the big event.

Besides Doyle, ex-gay activists Greg Quinlan of Parents and Friends of Gays and Ex-Gays (PFOX), Richard Cohen of the International Healing Foundation and Douglas McIntyre of Homosexuals Anonymous also participated.

UPDATE: As Tory noted, Voice of the Voiceless board member Chuck Peters even came up with an ex-gay chant.

DL Foster: 'Gay Activists and White American Slave Owners Are Two Sides of the Same Coin'

Today, another leader in the ex-gay movement has written a letter of apology for the “hurt and pain” caused by his work at Exodus International. That being said, DL Foster of Ex-Gay Pride Month is out with a new diatribe likening gay rights advocates to slave owners. After comparing himself to Harriet Tubman, this time Foster sees himself as a Frederick Douglass figure who was able to “escape the gay life plantation.”

“Gay activists and white American slave owners are two sides of the same coin, animated by the same spirit,” Foster writes. “Just like the delusional slave owners —depite [sic] their lies, imtimidation [sic], violence, ridicule and unjust laws— ultimately lost, homosexual activists will discover one day they too will lose the war.”

Reading more about Frederick Douglass and the hate he endured from the slave owners simply because he wanted his brothers and sisters to be free, reminded me of what a gay activist said recently about EXhomosexuals. “Ex-gays are as rare as the Dodo bird.”, quipped homosexual Wayne Besen who spends his waking hours attempting to do what slave owners did to Douglass, Tubman and other abolitionists. Besen uses the same strategy of the slave owners: paint the abolitionists as uneducated, unhinged loons fighting a losing battle. Ridicule became their oft used tool when outright intimidation failed to deter those bearing the message of freedom.

If you’ve noticed, gay activists religiously cite the American Psychological Association’s no change doctrine as irreversable [sic] proof that no homosexual can change. If they do, its theorized, such a person will be emotionally damaged even to the point of suicide. Or you will also hear this: “you can change your behavior, but you can’t change your orientation”. These ridiculous assertions have become the basis of passing unjust laws and prohibiting counselors from helping people who want to escape the gay life plantation. So why not just tell blacks gays that change is impossible so they can life a happy life as a slave?

As my friend explained to me, Douglass again proved that it was the slave owners who were fighting a losing battle. Douglass detailed his life as a slave with such finesse, that only a person who was once enslaved on the plantations of racist America could have written it.

Gay activists and white American slave owners are two sides of the same coin, animated by the same spirit. It reminds me of the many times homosexual activists have claimed that I was never gay to begin with. Unable to refute my broad knowledge of the homosexual lifestyle that I lived for 11 years, a Chicago lesbian angrily told me, “You were never a true gay, because true gays cannot change their orientation”. As ludicrous as it sounds, I recognized it as one of those tools they use when they run out of options against EXhomosexuals like myself who are forward and articulate emancipation messengers.

Just like the delusional slave owners —depite [sic] their lies, imtimidation [sic], violence, ridicule and unjust laws— ultimately lost, homosexual activists will discover one day they too will lose the war. Our Liberator has come and we are free.

Ex-Gay Pride Leader: I'm Harriet Tubman and Right Wing Watch Are Slave Catchers

Since first reporting on the creation of “Ex-Gay Pride Month” and its now-cancelled reception at the Family Research Council, we have uncovered more unhinged rants by organizers DL Foster and Greg Quinlan. Foster, who previously called for Dan Savage’s arrest and claimed gay Christians are like people wearing “blackface,” has posted several blog entries likening gay rights advocates to slave owners and the Ku Klux Klan.

Now, he has taken it one step further by equating himself to Harriet Tubman, literally putting a picture of himself over a Harriet Tubman “wanted” poster.

Foster goes on to compare himself to Jesus Christ. But since Foster is freeing people from gay slavery…naturally we here at Right Wing Watch, according to Foster, are like the slave catchers trying to bring the tens of ex-gays back to the gay plantation.

“Brian Tashman, a sycophant for the proslavery group RightWingWatch is making sure the massahs and slave catchers are being kept abreast of my writings,” Foster writes, “Tashman is acting like those who, using the power of the Fugitive Slave Law of 1850, released posters and fliers to aid the slave catchers in their apprehension of runaway slaves.”

I’ve been writing to show some of the parallels between America’s proslavery antagonists and the new gay rights movement.

The good thing is that now we know the face of the real enemy of freedom. Their insatiable thirst to uphold their shallow lie pushes them to strike out myself and other EXGLBT Americans and our message.

Brian Tashman, a sycophant for the proslavery group RightWingWatch is making sure the massahs and slave catchers are being kept abreast of my writings. Tashman is acting like those who, using the power of the Fugitive Slave Law of 1850, released posters and fliers to aid the slave catchers in their apprehension of runaway slaves. In fact, the Fugitive Slave Law stated that every citizen was responsible for helping to recover and return fugitive slaves; so any white person from the North or South could be, and was expected to be, a fugitive slave catcher. So no doubt Brian Tashman feels a certain sense of importance by “exposing” my work of helping homosexuals change and celebrating those who have. RWW, the SPLC and HRC most likely already feel the threat and thus feel compelled to alert others that we are helping homosexuals escape their psychological plantations by empowering them with spiritual truth.

Just like Jesus, we come bearing a message of freedom.

Ex-Gay Pride Month to Push for Congressional Resolution, Organizing Music Video Contest

Voice of the Voiceless, the “ex-gay” group led by DL Foster and Christopher Doyle, is working with the Family Research Council to host the upcoming Ex-Gay Pride Month dinner. As Doyle explained in an interview with Janet Mefferd yesterday, attendees will lobby Congress to “pass a resolution for tolerance for the ex-gay community” and condemn its supposed persecution at the hands of gay rights supporters. He also wants Congress to approve a resolution sanctioning sexual orientation conversion therapy, which is rejected and deemed dangerous by all major psychological organizations, and to oppose state efforts to limit conversion therapy on minors.

Ex-Gay Pride Month is also organizing a music video contest to find “a voice that sings about the struggles and victories of ex-gays”:

Ex-Gay Pride Leader: Gays Like Slave Owners, Ku Klux Klan

DL Foster, a keynote speaker at the Family Research Council’s Ex-Gay Pride Month, is unhappy with all the attention surrounding the event. In a new blog post, he compares being gay to being a slave and likens ex-gay activists like himself to Harriet Tubman…while painting gay rights advocates as modern-day slave holders.

Thus, I’ll be publishing a series of articles on the parallels of slavery our forefathers faced from white slaveowners and their supporters in politics. They hated escaped slaves and did everything they could to stop them. I’ll discuss how anti-EXhomosexual gay activists have become the new oppressors, driven by their hatred of former homosexuals. I’ll highlight brave abolitionists who risked much to help freed slaves and how pastors can help freed homosexuals stay free by creating safety networks. Finally, I will talk about how EXGLBT can work together to expand the promise of freedom for all.

“I freed a thousand slaves and I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.” —Harriet Tubman

The parallel of Harriet Tubman’s statement hit me really hard. Like the unflinching Mrs. Tubman, Ive led many homosexuals out of that slavery into the freedom of holiness. But it comes with the sobering realization that many more will never be free simply because they refuse to acknowledge the bondage of their sin.

The same prayer and faith in the promise of freedom given by God that brought Harriet Tubman and other EXslaves out of physical bondage, brought EXhomosexuals out of spiritual bondage. But now, our prayers of freedom are being widely mocked by the bigoted oppressors as “praying away the gay”. Our efforts to help other homosexuals gain their freedom are being branded “fraudulent and dangerous”. They highlight those who have fallen back into homosexuality as proof that our efforts for freedom are little more than snake oil tactics.

Interestingly enough, after Harriet Tubman escaped the first time from slavery Sept 17, 1849 with her two brothers, she went back. Its believed that her brothers influenced her to go back because they had familial ties they were very hesistant [sic] to be separated from. Under this new white hot standard of judgment homosexual activists use against EXhomosexuals who return to homosexuality because they experience separation anxiety, Tubman would be considered a failure and a fraud. She would be considered discredited and thus unqualified to tell other slaves they could be free.

But soon after she returned to slavery, she escaped again —without her brothers— to freedom. It was the genesis of her amazing courage to return numerous times to rescue black slaves and lead them to freedom.

In another post, Foster likens gay rights advocates to the Ku Klux Klan and police officers who violently repressed civil rights marchers, wondering if “gay activists will resort to dogs, water hoses and bombs”:

Case in point, two EXGLBT advocacy organizations declared July as “Exgay Pride Month” and consequently planned a celebration event to highlight the contributions and ongoing struggles of American citizens who are EXhomosexual. They made no demands on the gay community and asked nothing of them. In fact this was just a group of people who felt the need to encourage themselves and their families. Fair enough? Nope, not for homosexual activists. The announcement set off a frenzy of attacks. From theBoston Edge to jittery RightWingWatch, the online gay allied world exploded with numerous reports, blogs and oped pieces [sic] about the event. Even NBC News mentioned it! The stories were jammed with missiles named mockery, condemnation, bullying, discrimination, judging, unwarranted name calling, bigotry, intolerance and all the detestable vices homosexuals claim have no place in a fair and equal America. But it became very clear that in the eyes of homosexuals, they are the only ones who can simultaneously engage in such vicious behavior while at the same time pretending to decry it.

Remember, the nonexistence of EXhomosexuals is incontrovertible dogma in gay orthodoxy. Exgays can’t exist because if they do, then it destroys their other parallel lie that all homosexuals are born gay and cannot change. Perhaps this premature shock and awe attempt is because they sense a serious threat to their foundational mistruths. And of course you can couch your fear in shallow comedic bullying:

“In case, you’ve never heard of VoV [Voice of the Voiceless], it’s basically an anti-ex-gay defamation group, or, in other words, a group of self-haters who feel picked on.”

That’s exactly the way the Klan reacted when African Americans showed up to vote or to march for their right to be recognized as full US citizens. If this doesn’t work, maybe the gay activists will resort to dogs, water hoses and bombs. Another favorite tactic of racists were to employ vicious written caricatures of their black victims. Likewise, gay activists use grotestque sexual caricatures against Exhomosexuals (and their supporters)

Will Michele Bachmann and Jim DeMint Headline Ex-Gay Pride Month?

Channeling Tobias Fünke, ex-gay activist Christopher Doyle wants everyone to know there are tens of thousands of “former homosexuals.” In an interview with the American Family Association’s OneNewsNow today, Doyle declares July to be “Ex-Gay Pride Month” and laments that the “gay activist lobby” is “discriminating [against] us” by “taking away our rights” to not be gay…or something.

OneNewsNow reports that Rep. Michele Bachmann and Rep. Tim Huelskamp, along with Heritage Foundation head and former senator Jim DeMint and Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel, plan to address a July 31 ex-gay function organized by Doyle and hosted by the Family Research Council.

According to an invitation to the event [PDF], the four are listed as invited but not confirmed speakers. Other invited speakers include anti-gay activists Star Parker and Harry Jackson.

The only confirmed speakers are Doyle; fellow ex-gay activists DL Foster, who has said Dan Savage should be arrested; and Greg Quinlan, who claims gay people practise “sexual cannibalism.”

Former homosexuals will be in Washington later this month to celebrate the first annual "Ex-Gay Pride Month."

Christopher Doyle, co-founder of Voice of the Voiceless (VoV), explains how his group will cap off the month of July.

"What we're going to be doing is former homosexuals, persons with unwanted same-sex attractions and their families and allies are going to be convening on Washington, D.C. on July 31st to send a clear message to the members of Congress that ex-gays are alive; we do exist," Doyle tells OneNewsNow. "There are tens of thousands of us, and we want to be counted."

Homosexual activists try to erase former homosexuals from the scene, contending that people cannot change if they are attracted to the same gender.

"We are tired of the gay activist lobby discriminating [against] us, marginalizing us and taking away our rights, and we're now fighting back, and we're demanding that if gays are going to get full diversity and equality in America, we also demand that ex-gay voices be heard as well," the VoV co-founder details.

He adds that his organization will lobby Congress throughout the day, then hold a dinner and reception with Equality and Justice for All at Family Research Counsel [sic] Action in the evening for attendees. Featured speakers include Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN), former Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver, Congressman Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), and several prominent leaders in the ex-gay and faith communities who celebrate the fact that change is possible.

July Is 'Ex-Gay Pride Month'

Earlier this month, a pair of nine year old twin sisters with two moms introduced President Obama at an LGBT Pride Month reception at the White House, and Linda Harvey is predictably disturbed about the whole thing, accusing Obama and gay activists of exploiting children in "support of a radical agenda":

One of the most outrageous things President Obama has done in his lavish support for all aspects of the homosexual agenda is to exploit the innocence of children.

At a homosexual pride event at the White House, he allowed two third grade girls to introduce him.  It's really heartbreaking, friends, to see these sweet little girls enlisted to support a radical agenda.  They said they have two moms when the truth is they have one mom and, somewhere, one dad.

So this is what these folks are proud up and despite what seems to be very sincerely-held beliefs, they are profoundly wrong and all of this will end up hurting many people, including children.

The homosexual movement is fast becoming a club to silence people who don't want to support this and don't want this taught to their children.

But there is hope, Harvey went on to inform her listeners, because July is "Ex-Gay Pride Month":

Voice of the Voiceless (VoV) is excited to announce the First Annual Ex-Gay Pride Month in July 2013! If you or your organization is interested in partnering to help sponsor our Ex-Gay Pride Awareness Day on the Washington, DC National Mall and Evening Dinner/Reception, please contact Co-Founder and Acting Director, Christopher Doyle at cdoyle@voiceofthevoiceless.info

We are actively working to receive a Presidential Proclamation from The White House to commemorate Ex-Gay Pride Month and are speaking with members of Congress to recognize and participate in our first annual Awareness Event on the National Mall and Evening Dinner/Reception in Washington, DC. See below for more details on Ex-Gay Pride!

When is Ex-Gay Pride? VoV is strategically holding Ex-Gay Pride Month in July, after June's annual gay pride month, in order to draw attention to the ever-increasing phenomenon of ex-gays or former homosexuals; that is, individuals who formerly had unwanted same-sex attractions and/or lived an LGBT-identified life, but now do not. These individuals may be in heterosexual relationships, pursuing heterosexuality, or living celibate lives as former homosexuals.

WHAT is Ex-Gay Pride? A time to recognize the unique experiences of ex-gays and former homosexuals and celebrate their existence in American culture. VoV is currently organizing events in the month of July to highlight the unique role of ex-gays in American culture and draw attention to increasing discrimination and hostility towards the ex-gay community in society.

WHY Ex-Gay Pride? Because former homosexuals are the last invisible minority in American culture and are increasingly subject to hostility from anti-ex-gay activists and the media at large, who is influenced heavily by the gay-activist lobby that discriminates and marginalizes former homosexuals. VoV estimates that ex-gays number in the tens of thousands (at least), but due to intimation and hostility, the exact numbers are unknown.

WHERE is Ex-Gay Pride? Currently, VoV plans to hold at least one event in Washington, DC in July to commemorate the First Annual Ex-Gay Pride Month. Because Washington, DC is the only jurisdiction that recognizes ex-gays as a protected class against discrimination in the United States, we believe this is a safe place to gather and celebrate free from any threat of intimidation.

WHO Should Participate in Ex-Gay Pride? If you are a former homosexual, individual with unwanted same-sex attraction (SSA), a friend or family member that knows an ex-gay or individual with unwanted SSA, or one of our allies, we welcome your support and presence at any of our events! Please e-mail cdoyle@voiceofthevoiceless.info for more details on how you can participate.

HOW Can I Participate in Ex-Gay Pride? VoV is currently looking for individuals and organizations to partner with us and help sponsor an awareness event on the Washington, DC National Mall and an evening dinner/reception to celebrate and commemorate ex-gays in the United States. It is important that we let our voices be heard or we'll continue to face marginalization and discrimination. This event is meant to celebrate and unite together for a common goal: to increase our public visability, tell our stories proudly, celebrate our unique contributions towards American culture, and unite against the hatred and bigotry against our communities.
