Fischer Tries To Mock Rep. Carol Shea-Porter And Fails Miserably

As we have noted several times before, self-awareness is not one of Bryan Fischer's strong suits and his cluelessness was on full display once again this afternoon when he attempted to mock Rep. Carol Shea-Porter for saying that the corporate tax rate in America was "just a suggestion."

The point that Shea-Porter was making was entirely accurate, as she was simply acknowledging that the effective tax rate actually paid by corporations is far lower than the set federal rate.  In essence, the tax rate is "just a suggestion" because corporations don't really pay that.

But Fischer played a clip of Shea-Porter making this true statement and then mocked her for it, saying "tell that to Martha Stewart, tell that to Bernie Madoff, tell that to who knows how many people are in prison for treating the tax code as if it were just a suggestion."

Of course, Stewart went to prison for insider trading and Madoff went to prison for running a massive Ponzi scheme ... so any connection between these examples and the issue of corporate tax rates exists only in Fischer's "twisted mind":

Fischer: 'I Think We May Be Headed Toward Bloodshed In America'

On his radio broadcast today, Bryan Fischer took a call from a listener who warned that the American people will one day wake up to what is being done to them by the government and when that day comes, it will lead to revolution.

Fischer shared the caller's concerns, saying "I think we may be headed toward bloodshed in America."

"There are a number of avenues," Fischer stated, "starting right where we're at right now that could lead to bloodshed, could lead to anarchy, could lead to chaos in America."

After insisting that he does not want to see anything like that happen, Fischer warned that the fact that members of Congress are reluctant to hold town hall meetings during the August recess could lead to a revolution.

"If our elected officials will not listen to us, if they will not meet with us, if they will not respond to the urgent appeal of their own constituents, the people that elected them to office, then eventually you might get to the point [where] people will just get fed up and then you'll start having some very, very unpredictable things that will happen":

Fischer & Mihet: Those Who Oppose ENDA Will Be Charged With Crimes Against Humanity

Last week, a judge refused to dismiss the lawsuit against Scott Lively stemming from his anti-gay advocacy in Uganda.  Today, his lawyer, Harry Mihet of Liberty Counsel, appeared on Bryan Fischer's radio program to discuss the lawsuit, where the two of them speculated that if it succeeds, then anyone who would dare to testify against or oppose a law like the Employment Nondiscrimination Act could be prosecuted for committing crimes against humanity.

"If that is allowed to succeed in the Scott Lively case," Mihet said, "then the very next and logical step would be to take anyone that would oppose legislation in ENDA in the US and to have the charged with international human rights violations, the most heinous of crimes, crimes against humanity, or persecution for doing nothing more than exercising their rights to speak their minds on an issue of public importance in the public square.  At some point, we have to ask ourselves are we still a free country, governed by a constitution with a First Amendment or are we entering an era of fascism when it comes to this issue":

Fischer Doubles Down On His Photoshop Theory And Tosses In Some Sexism To Boot

Yesterday we noted that Bryan Fischer is now promoting a theory that President Obama was photoshopped into the iconic image showing the situation room during the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

Fischer was widely mocked for the suggestion which means, of course, that he has doubled down and dedicated two segments of his radio broadcast today to defending his theory.

His defense was predictably idiotic, as perfectly exemplified by this section in which he suggests that President Obama is wearing a windbreaker in the photo because this was only image that could be found of him where was was not looking down on everyone.

Fischer literally stated that "President Obama never looks up at anything; he looks down on everybody at all times in all circumstances. He's got his nose up in the air looking down on you, looking down on me, looking down on the press, looking down on the American people."

As such, the only image that could be found of him looking in the proper direction was this one, which was why they had to concoct a phony story that Obama had been out on the golf course earlier in the day.

Amazingly, that was not the most idiotic part of his statement, as he then went on to state that because former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had her hand over her mouth in the photo, it demonstrates that she is not fit to be President.

"She's horrified, she frightened," Fischer said. "Is that the woman you want to get the 3am phone call? You want her to get the 3 am phone call? Seriously! She's sitting there at the table with her hand over her mouth, in shock.  Now the guys around the table, they're sober, they're focused, they're intent, but they are not freaked out.  Hillary Clinton is freaked out by what she is seeing on the screen. Do we want her taking the 3 am phone call? I don't think so":

Fischer: Liberals Angry At Rodeo Clown's Blasphemous Idolatry

As we noted yesterday, we don't know what has gotten into Bryan Fischer lately, but he has been making statements over the last week or so that are so far out there that we don't even understand what he is talking about anymore.

For example, on his radio broadcast yesterday afternoon, he dedicated a few minutes to discussing the controversy over the Obama mask-wearing rodeo clown during which he claimed that the reason liberals are upset about it is because they see it as a blasphemous form of idolatry.

Fischer says that since liberals see Obama as the Messiah, just as the Ten Commandments declare that graven images shall not be made, they think that someone wearing an Obama mask is blasphemy and idolatry.

We literally have no idea what he is talking about:

Right Wing Leftovers - 8/15/13

  • Bryan Fischer interviewed New Jersey Republican Senate nominee Steve Lonegan on his radio program, which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about Lonegan and his views.
  • You know what America needs?  A billion dollar mausoleum that can hold a million Christians.
  • Republican Ohio lawmakers will reintroduce the "heartbeat bill" in the next session.
  • Glenn Beck loves cowboys.
  • Are we going to be lucky enough to see GOP primary debates moderated by the likes of Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh.
  • Finally, C. Peter Wagner says that, soon China will be the dominant nation on the globe, and this a good thing because it will also spark a revival as China comes to be dominated by Christian converts.

Fischer: Obama Was Photoshopped Into Bin Laden Raid Situation Room Photo

We are not sure what is going on over at the American Family Association but for the last week or so, Bryan Fischer has been coming up with some stuff that is crazy, even by his standards.

And that trend continues as today, on his radio broadcast, Fischer shared his theory that President Obama had been photoshopped into the iconic photo of the situation room taken during the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

As Fischer sees it, Obama wanted to be nowhere near the room while the raid took place in case anything went wrong.  But once it was a success, he had himself photoshopped into the photo:

No, Common Core Does Not Teach That 3 x 4 = 11

As we were saying just the other day, the AFA's Bryan Fischer flat out does not care about the truth of the claims that he makes on his radio program, provided that he has some source to which he can point to support them, no matter how unreliable or misleading that source may be.

And he provided another example of this on his radio program yesterday when he played a clip of some educator stating that, under Common Core, it doesn't matter if students think that 3 x 4 = 11, so long as they can explain how they arrived at that answer, they will be correct.

Fischer was outraged, saying "this is somebody that is training teachers on how to implement this Common Core curriculum and she says 'look, we will be happy if a student says 3 x 4 is 11, we will accept that answer, we will be happy with that answer, we will affirm that answer":

Of course, if you bother to do ten seconds of research, you can easily find the longer, original video that doesn't get cut off right before the speaker says that any student who answered that 3 x 4 = 11 would be wrong and would be corrected:

Right Wing Round-Up - 8/13/13

Fischer: 'Our CIA Director Is Funding Terrorism'

One thing you quickly learn when regularly watching Bryan Fischer's daily program is that as long as he has any source to which he can point, he is willing to treat even the most unverified and baseless statement as fact, so long as it supports his radical agenda.

Just as he does with his Hitler and the Nazis were gay claims and his AIDS denialism, Fischer digs up some source that he can use to supports his statements and then proceeds to simply assert them as proven, verifiable fact.

Last week, he did so when he asserted that CIA Director John Brennan is a Muslim, even though the "source" of this claim is nothing more than the say-so of a disgraced former FBI agent and anti-Islam activist.

So, since in Fischer's world, it is now a proven fact that Brennan is a Muslim, it only stands to reason that Brennan practices zakāt and donates money to Muslim charities.  And since, according to Fischer, one-eighth of all money given to Muslim charities gets funneled to terrorist organizations to fund violent jihad, the United States now finds itself in a situation where the head of the Central Intelligence Agency is using his tax-payer funded salary to subsidize Islamic terror attacks the United States.

"John Brennan is probably paying money every month," Fischer declared, "to support jihad against the United States.  He's funding terrorism. Our CIA Director is funding terrorism!"

Fischer: Sodomy Is 'An Ugly Word Because It Describes Ugly Behavior'

On his radio program on Friday, Bryan Fischer told his audience that they should never be reluctant to use the word "sodomy" when discussing the issue of homosexuality, saying that it is a "good word" to use precisely because "it's an ugly word because it describes ugly behavior."

Telling his listeners that they must be wary of ever "ceding ground to the enemy" by allowing gay activists to dictate how they can discuss the issue, Fischer explained that that is why he insists on calling marriage equality "sodomy-based marriage."

"I refer to homosexual marriage," Fischer said, "as sodomy-based marriage.  This is a pseudo-marriage; it's counterfeit marriage, fake marriage; not the real thing, it's naugahyde marriage and it is rooted in the act of sodomy":

Right Wing Leftovers - 8/9/13

  • We retweeted one of Judson Phillips' stupid tweets and it looks like he didn't appreciate it very much because he responded by calling us "traitors."
  • Bob Vander Plaats wants Mike Huckabee to run for president in 2016. So do we.
  • Glenn Beck and crew haven't seen "Elysium" ... and they never will because they know that it is communist propaganda.
  • Whenever a Boy Scout troop lost access to meeting places because of their anti-gay policies, the Religious Right threw a fit, so we are sure they'll continue to voice such outrage now that troops are losing access for having changed the policy.
  • Finally, Bryan Fischer says "it’s wise to keep an anti-sodomy law on the books, even if unenforceable due to judicial tyranny, to express the state’s official disapproval of that kind of conduct."

Fischer: Unconfessed Sin Can Cause Physical Illness

Bryan Fischer began his radio program yesterday with a discussion of the Book of James regarding the power of prayer, which prompted him to explain that when praying for someone to be healed, it is important that the person who is sick to confess all of their sins because "unconfessed sin can lead to physical sickness."

"Concealed sin," Fischer said, "unconfessed sin, that can cause physical illness:"

Fischer: 'Russia Is Not Being Homophobic, It’s Homorealistic'

Russia recently enacted a reactionary anti-gay law banning the dissemination of "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations around minors."

So, of course, Bryan Fischer wholeheartedly supports it, as he explained to The Voice Of Russia yesterday:

VOR also spoke with Bryan Fischer, head of the American Family Association, who has a different view on the situation.

"Russia is not being homophobic, it’s homorealistic – the Russian government is trying to take the issue into consideration and establish public policy to contribute to public health, as this lifestyle is not be promoted, endorsed or granted special legal protection", the expert said, warning of high health risks linked to this lifestyle.

He cites the Center for Disease Control that has monitored the HIV epidemic since 1987 and determined that 61% of HIV-positive males had sexual contacts with other males.

"Homosexual behavior is just as risky as drug abuse," Fischer said.

"I think the Russian government is right to be concerned with propaganda on teenagers who are at the age of struggling through sexual identity issue and we should help to channel these urges in productive behavior. Heterosexuality is God’s design. Policies that encourage young people to think this are good ideas."

Though same-sex marriages are becoming common all across the world, it doesn’t mean that this idea is popular and everybody supports it, Fischer said.

"Homosexual behavior damages the body and soul. We love homosexuals enough to tell them the truth."

A Window Into Bryan Fischer's Worldview

Watching Bryan Fischer's radio program is often like taking a trip into Bizzaro World , as one watches Fischer concoct utterly nonsensical scenarios and then treat them as if they were actual items worthy of discussion when, in reality, all he is doing is providing a window into his oddly warped worldview.

For example, he spent several segments of today's broadcast discussing the purchase of the Washington Post by Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos during which he asserted that outlets such as the Post are losing readers and influence because they are not covering real, important news ... like the fact that some bikers held a church service in a bar in Sturgis during Bike Week, which Fischer thinks ought to be "the number one story of the week, I don't care who you are."

Now, the fact that Fischer thinks that that story ought to be the lead item throughout the media is strange enough, but it is nothing compared to his belief that liberals are "scandalized" by the sale of the Post to Bezos because he sells things like Scooby Doo lunch boxes and Barbie Roll-On lip gloss on Amazon.

Fischer literally spent two minutes bizarrely explaining that liberals think they are so much smarter and better than everyone else and so they are scandalized that someone who sells "plebeian" things like lunch boxes and lip gloss would be taking over one of the nation's elite newspapers:

Fischer Asserts That CIA Director John Brennan Is A Muslim

Earlier this year, the anti-Muslim right seized upon an entirely unverified claim by disgraced former FBI agent John Guandolo that John Brennan, the Director of the CIA, had secretly converted to Islam as part of a Saudi Arabian "counterintelligence operation against him to recruit him."

There was absolutely no evidence to support the assertion other than Guandolo's say so, but that didn't matter as it immediately became a widely believed "fact" among people like Bryan Fischer who, to this day, continues to openly repeat it as if were verifiable and true.

On his radio broadcast this afternoon, Fischer cited another totally untrustworthy story claiming that President Obama would be meeting with high-ranking Muslim Brotherhood officials, which then prompted him to boldly declare that "John Brennan is a Muslim ... He's a devout Muslim, he's a die-hard Muslim, he believes what Muslims believe" despite having literally no evidence to support that claim whatsoever:

Fischer: Gay Activists Should Support Russia's Anti-Gay Laws In The Name Of Diversity

The results are always interesting when Bryan Fischer thinks that he is being clever, as he was on his radio program yesterday when he spent a few minutes discussing Russia's recent ban on "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations around minors."

The discriminatory legislation has been met with outrage and protests around the world, but Fischer doesn't understand why since liberals and gay activists supposedly believe in diversity and, as such, they ought to be saying "hey, this is great!"

"We've got plenty of room in our multicultural world for all sorts of different cultural values and trends," Fischer mockingly proclaimed. "Isn't this wonderful what Russia is doing. Let's celebrate diversity and let's support this tradition in the nation of Russia":

Right Wing Leftovers - 8/1/13

  • FRC was praying that God would stop Samantha Power from being confirmed: "May God intervene to prevent Samantha Power from being confirmed to this important office! If not, may He raise up intercessors who will be used of the Lord to restrain her from acting and voting as her past behavior predicts she will." Looks like it didn't work.
  • Gee, what a surprise.  Glenn Beck is changing his position on the use of boycotts.
  • Have you always wished there was a line of stylish clothing available that was also covered in Bible verses? Well, you are in luck.
  • Cindy Jacobs has produced a handy guide for prayer warriors on how to "lay siege to their cities."
  • Is anyone surprised that when the "ex-gay" activists met with members of Congress yesterday, the "Republicans were definitely more sympathetic"?
  • Finally, Bryan Fischer began his show today by declaring that Islam is a "demonic, degraded, dark, devilish religion and we never should contemplate treating it on the same plane as we do Christianity." He then proceeded to interview Republican Senator Roger Wicker.

Fischer: 'I Have No Hesitation In Saying, Flat Out, President Obama Is Not A Patriot'

Some day, this country will again have a Republican president and when that happens, critics will say things about that president that the Religious Right will find offensive and outrageous and they will throw a fit that anyone would dare to ever show such disrespect to the President of the United States and the office of the presidency.

And on that day, we will just trot out videos of Bryan Fischer declaring that President Obama "has a visceral dislike of America" and wants to see it torn down and utterly destroyed.

"I have no hesitation in saying, flat out, President Obama is not a patriot," Fischer says, "he is not a patriotic American":

Right Wing Leftovers - 7/31/13

  • It is going to be fascinating to watch Glenn Beck, who thinks that David Barton is a great historian, try to take down Reza Aslan and his new book about Jesus.
  • Bryan Fischer says that President Obama is working to destroy America by intentionally weakening the military.
  • Janet Porter is out with a new video that has the top-notch production values we have come to expect from her.
  • Tony Perkins, Brent Bozell, and hundreds of other "conservative and Tea Party leaders are demanding that major news media outlets end their virtual blackout on the IRS targeting scandal."
  • Finally, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt says that, because of hates crimes legislation, it is now illegal to quote passages from the Bible that condemn homosexuality.  Of course, Chaps quoted those very passages in the video and has not been arrested, which pretty much proves that his entire claim is ridiculously false.
