Fischer: Obama Is a Tyrant Who Would Launch Drone Strikes Against the Tea Party

Yesterday, as Sen. Rand Paul was conducting a filibuster over the Obama administration's assertion that there could possibly be hypothetical "extraordinary circumstance" under which it would be necessary for the President to authorize the use of military force or drone strike against US citizens within the United States, Bryan Fischer dedicated a segment of his program to praising Paul for his stance.

In Fischer's view, Paul's filibuster was important because President Obama is a tyrant who does not want to allow anyone who disagrees with him to express their views and so, "based on the way the administration is crafting their policy here about the use of drones, you've got to be concerned that something you might say at a Tea Party would be used as an excuse" to launched a drone strike against your house:

Fischer: Liberal 'Secular Fundamentalists' Are The 'American Taliban'

As we have noted several times before, Bryan Fischer may be a lot of things, but self-aware is not one of them.

Just last week, Fischer declared, utterly without irony, that liberals are the modern-day Pharisees,  And yesterday he followed that up with a declaration that not only are "secular fundamentalists" modern-day Pharisees, but they are also "the American Taliban":

Fischer: African Americans Should Oppose Immigration Reform 'If They Are Thinking Logically, Clearly, and Rationally'

On Friday's radio program, Bryan Fischer attempted to make that case that African Americans ought to be opposed to any effort to reform the nation's immigration laws and grant a pathway to citizenship for those who are here illegally.

In Fischer's view, immigrants take the low-wage, low-skill jobs that African Americans need "to get their foot on the bottom rung of the ladder of success" and so "if they are thinking logically, clearly, and rationally, they should be the most adamant that we need to secure our borders, that we cannot provide these people a pathway to citizenship, it's just rewarding the breaking of the law, because it is damaging, it is harming the African American community":

Fischer: Impeach Obama over DOMA; Government Should Campaign Against Homosexuality

Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association is out with a column today arguing that President Obama “committed an impeachable offense” in his handling of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and that homosexuality is “self-destructive.”

Fischer also recycled his usual claims that gays should be treated like cigarette smokers and intravenous drug users, arguing that “We should no more normalize homosexual conduct, let alone homosexual marriage, than to normalize shooting up with needles.”

He even envisioned a government campaign against homosexuality based on smoking-prevention efforts: “We have spent billions of dollars urging children not to take up cigarette smoking because of its harm to human health. We should be making the same effort persuading children and adults not to start engaging in homosexual conduct, and if they have started, helping them to stop.”

The case against same-sex marriage is simple and straightforward: it’s contrary to the laws of nature and nature’s God, it’s enormously destructive to human health, and it’s bad for kids.

The president is now openly pledged to fight against natural marriage in court, by arguing against California’s Proposition 8. He has also committed an impeachable offense by refusing to defend DOMA in court, even though it is one of the laws of the land he took an oath to “execute faithfully.”

Since the president himself has abandoned his moral and constitutional duty and thrown his considerable weight behind counterfeit marriage based on the infamous crime against nature, it’s important for the American people to think clearly about marriage and be able to defend it in conversation and in the public square.

Second, homosexual conduct is contrary to the “laws of Nature,” to use the Founders’ phrasing, and is devastating to human health. Whether you believe in evolution or in creation, as I do, homosexual behavior puts the human body to sexual uses for which it clearly was not designed.

Homosexual sex is not behavior that any rational society should endorse, promote, normalize, or protect in law. Calling relationships “marriages” that are based on the act of sodomy, which was a felony everywhere in America for the first 255 years of our existence, gives society’s ultimate stamp of approval to behavior that is self-destructive, destroys human health, and shortens life. This is obviously short-sighted and callous public policy.

The CDC informs us that over 90% of all men who have ever been diagnosed with HIV-AIDS contracted it through having sex with other men (61%), intravenous drug abuse (21%), or both (9%). Homosexual conduct thus is even more of a risk to human health than intravenous drug injection. We should no more normalize homosexual conduct, let alone homosexual marriage, than to normalize shooting up with needles.

We have spent billions of dollars urging children not to take up cigarette smoking because of its harm to human health. We should be making the same effort persuading children and adults not to start engaging in homosexual conduct, and if they have started, helping them to stop.

Fischer: Obama Has No Soul; Gays Have No Place in the NFL

Yesterday on Focal Point it took American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer just a few minutes to transition from praising NFL teams for asking about players’ sexual orientations to talking about why he believes President Obama has no soul.

First, Fischer said that the NFL shouldn’t sign gay players because they would cause a “grenade-like explosion” that would destroy the team. He said that the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is doing such damage to the military, even though all the reports so far show that the new policy has had zero negative impacts.

Just minutes later, Fischer went on a rant about how he believes Obama lacks empathy and “seems to be soulless,” maintaining that the “pathologically narcissistic” president callously views people as imaginary avatars in SimCity.

Fischer: Liberals Are Modern Day Pharisees

Without even a hint of irony, Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association on Focal Point claimed that the Pharisees whom Jesus used as an example of self-righteous, judgmental, power-seeking, sanctimonious and empty religiosity are still around today… and are liberals.

“If you look for the group of people today who are doing what the Pharisees did in the Jesus did, you have to look at secular fundamentalists, you have to look at liberals, you have to look at progressives,” Fischer said.

'Project 2026' to Fight the Gay-Muslim-Atheist Alliance Destroying America

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer spoke yesterday with fellow AFA radio host Alex McFarland about Project 2026, which McFarland explained is a long-term initiative to save America from annihilation at the hands of “the four groups that are actively working to secularize and destroy America: humanists; atheists; militant homosexuals; and Muslims.”

McFarland: There is a remnant, there is hope, there are still some people who know how to pray and call on Heaven but we are right now ripe for either a manifestation of God’s judgment or God’s mercy.

Fischer: Alex, you’ve got Project 2026, I want you to talk a little bit about Project 2026 because in this project you’re not just talking about what’s going on in 2013, you’re looking ahead, a forward view. 2026 is going to be the 250th anniversary of our founding, what is Project 2026 all about?

McFarland: It’s a response, it’s a fifteen year program and we are beginning to get a lot of momentum, it’s a fifteen year program to re-remind our culture about some things that are core that I believe without the rediscovery and reaffirmation of these things we’re going to lose democracy: God; life; morality; family; freedom of religion; American exclusivism, not that we’re better or deserve better but we are unique on the stage of human history. The thing that prompted me Bryan is the four groups that are actively working to secularize and destroy America: humanists; atheists; militant homosexuals; and Muslims. All four of these groups got major momentum beginning in the ’60s and ’70s but they dug in their heels and they said: ‘we’re going to work forty years and we’re going to mainstream atheism; we’re going to mainstream militant homosexuality; dare we say it we’re going to see gay marriage legitimized.’ Why can’t God’s people dig in their heels and say: ‘we’re in it for the duration and America will not die on our watch.’

Fischer claimed that Americans are unwittingly relying on the “moral and spiritual capital” created by past generations and once it is all used up “America could be finished.” McFarland warned that “apostate” churches and people “that are enlisted for Satan” are pushing societal collapse.

Fischer: The analogy that Ray [Stedman] used is what we had been doing in each succeeding generation, we had generations of Americans that built up a certain moral and spiritual capital and we have not been replenishing that capital, we have been depleting it. So succeeding generations, without even realizing that they are consuming the spiritual seed corn that was accumulated by generations that came before them, have been consuming that moral and spiritual capital and it looks to me Alex like we’re at a place where virtually all of that seed corn is gone and if we don’t once again begin to rebuild that moral and spiritual capital America could be finished.

McFarland: Exactly. You know what’s so sad is in the church, you’ve got the church existing in four states: healthy churches; alive but anemic churches; backslidden churches; and some that are apostate, they are rejecting basic biblical doctrines. The church, it ranges from healthy to apostate, but what about the world? You’ve got your garden variety lost people who need Jesus but then you’ve got those who I believe are deluded by Satan and you’ve got some that are enlisted for Satan.

Fischer: Liberals Are Like 'Vultures Feeding on the Carcass of the American Economy'

On his radio program yesterday, Bryan Fischer cited a comment made by Charles Krauthammer based on a quote in a Washington Post article about the possible impact of the sequester to declare that liberals want bad things to happen because that is good for their political agenda and, as such, they "actually want bad things to happen to our country."

"They are like scavengers," Fischer proclaimed, "they're like vultures feeding on the carcass of the American economy, so they want it to die so they can eat.  I mean, that is how perverse their worldview is":

  • Once again, Glenn Beck hauls out his chalkboard to demonstrate that most Americans are just like him and Ted Cruz.
  • S.E Cupp has withdrawn from CPAC in protest of the ban on GOProud.
  • Finally, Bryan Fischer channels David Barton in claiming that Jesus was a capitalist because apparently parables about Heaven are also literal lessons about economics.

Fischer: 'There Is No Right to Engage in Immoral Behavior'

On yesterday's radio program, Bryan Fischer went after President Obama for refusing to defend the Defense of Marriage Act before the Supreme Court, calling it a violation of his oath of office before declaring that people do not have any right whatsoever to engage in homosexual acts: "They don't have a moral right to do it, they don't have an ethical right to do it, they don't have a right to do it according to the laws of nature, and most importantly they do not have a right to do it according to the laws of God; and beyond that they do not have a right to do it according to the Constitution of the United States."

In fact, Fischer argued, since all rights come from God, "no law can give you a right to do something that is immoral" and thus "there is no right to engage in immoral behavior":

Fischer Declares That Robert Jeffress Is Now 'the Most Important Man in America'

After Tim Tebow canceled his scheduled speaking engagement at Robert Jeffress' church last week, Bryan Fischer lashed out at the "bigoted bullies at Big Gay" who were supposedly responsible for pressuring Tebow into backing down.

Jeffress' addressed the controversy in a defiant sermon on Sunday that apparently send a thrill up Fischer's spine, as he played a lengthy excerpt from it on his radio program today ... but not before declaring that Jeffress is now "the most important man in America" and predicting that the Tebow controversy represents a "turning point in the culture war; we perhaps have bottomed out and with Dr. Jeffress taking such a strong and unapologetic stand for the truth, maybe we are beginning now to climb out of the abyss":

Fischer: 'The Bullies and Bigots at Big Gay' Hit Tebow 'Like a Falling Safe'

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer is none too pleased about Tim Tebow’s decision to pull out of a speaking engagement at far-right pastor Robert Jeffress’ megachurch, a gig first reported by Right Wing Watch.

In his column yesterday, Fischer warned that by pulling out of the speaking engagement, Tebow put his eternal salvation in jeopardy. Fischer piled on in his Focal Point radio program, saying that the Jets backup quarterback is the latest person to cave to the “bigoted bullies at Big Gay.”

Fischer lamented that “homosexual activists” now have “another scalp to hang on the wall, they got another notch in the belt.”

“The bullies and bigots at Big Gay,” he continued, landed “on him like a falling safe.”

Fischer: 'President Obama Is Our Enemy'

Bryan Fischer dedicates the first segment of every program to a discussion of a reading from the Bible, followed by a prayer based on that reading.  In addition to his own family and friends and co-workers, Fischer regularly includes President Obama among those for whom he is praying and yesterday explained that he does so because Jesus commanded Christians to pray for their enemies and those that persecute them.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Fischer declared, "we should be under no illusions here; President Obama is not our friend, President Obama is our enemy":

Fischer: Obama Is Deliberately Destroying the Military by Allowing Women in Combat

As Brian just demonstrated, the Religious Right is not at all pleased about the Pentagon's decision to allow women to serve in combat and that, of course, includes Bryan Fischer, who declared on his radio program today that the change is part of a deliberate effort on the part of President Obama to destroy the military.

As Fischer sees it, Obama "detests the military" because he views it as tool that "white colonial powers" use to oppress nations around the globe.  In fact, Obama is so imbued with hatred of America's fundamental "white supremacy [and] white racism," Fischer believes, that he is "systematically going about destroying the military" by allowing women to serve in combat:

Islamophobic Smear of John Brennan Flourishes on the Far-Right

Glenn Beck isn’t the only one promoting an unhinged conspiracy theory about John Brennan, President Obama’s pick to lead the CIA. A number of Religious Right and anti-Muslim activists are also wondering if Brennan is a secret agent of the Saudi government.

The source of the smear against Brennan is former FBI agent John Guandolo, who has made a career out of warning about the alleged implementation of Sharia law in the U.S. and asserting that Muslims “do not have a First Amendment right to do anything.” For Guandolo, making completely unsubstantiated accusations is nothing new:

In 2011, he asserted that a Muslim college professor in Ohio was working with terrorists even though the same professor played a key role in counterterrorism efforts and the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and other members of the intelligence community all called Guandolo’s claim unfounded.

But his accusation about Brennan has been quickly picked up by former congressman Fred Grandy of the Center for Security Policy and Sandy Rios of the American Family Association, who seemed to accept it with little scrutiny. Grandy and Rios also were some of the first people to allege that Hillary Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin — among other U.S. government officials — are Muslim Brotherhood agents.

Grandy: The influence of Islam as a religion among top intelligence authorities in this country is not limited to John Brennan. Whether or not that influenced his political determinations probably has more to do not so much with Islam but to what degree has been cooped by Saudi authorities. It seems to me that you can practice Islam but still be an American citizen and loyal to the Constitution if you’re an officer in the CIA, but what we don’t know whether or not that conversion might have been instigated by Saudi authorities who then used it to perhaps remold his thinking vis-à-vis the Saudis, the Qataris and others who are allies of the United States but the principal funders and underwriters of terrorism around the world.

Rios: Well I think the proof is in the pudding. When he redefines jihad to mean something that it doesn’t mean, to water it down; when he rewrites the training manuals for our law enforcement, for those that would protect the United States; it’s all very, very frightening and suspicious to me. And wasn’t it John Brennan who calls Jerusalem, ‘Quds’?

Grandy: He has referred to Jerusalem as Al-Quds which of course is the Muslim name for it.

AFA spokesman Bryan Fischer also floated Guandolo’s accusation against Brennan.

Fischer: How in the world can this guy [Obama] be up nine points in national defense? He wants a guy to be the director of the CIA who may be a Muslim covert. There’s a highly-placed source, I can’t verify this because it’s only come from one source but John Brennan who President Obama wants to be his CIA director, there’s a well-placed source that says everybody understands in the intelligence community that he converted to Islam when he was on an overseas assignment. He’s allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate his administration.

So, is Guandolo a reliable source of information?

If you believe Guandolo’s story, the former agent was pushed out of the FBI as part of a Muslim Brotherhood plot and is now informing Americans about how the group has successfully infiltrated the U.S. government.

But the news reports beg to differ, reporting that Guandolo stepped down after it was discovered that he had a sexual relationship with the star witness in the corruption case against former Rep. William Jefferson.

Guandolo, “who is married and who unsuccessfully solicited a $75,000 donation for an anti-terrorism group from a wealthy witness in the Jefferson case with whom he was having an affair,” resigned from the FBI in 2008 “after superiors found a list he wrote of his sexual conquests with agents and a confidential source.”

But a total lack of credibility has never stopped someone from being treated as an “expert” in right-wing circles, and Guandolo’s influence is further proof that conservatives will believe just about anything to advance their anti-Muslim and anti-Obama paranoia.

Fischer: I Want Ben Carson to Run for President, Which Proves I'm Not Racist

Dr. Ben Carson has become a right-wing hero ever since he spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast and lectured President Obama on public policy and biblical principles ... and now Bryan Fischer is hoping that Carson will run for president in 2016.

And, as an added bonus, Fischer explained that his support for Carson proves that he is totally not racist, because he also likes Alan Keyes, Herman Cain, and Clarence Thomas:

Of course, back in 2011, Fischer declared that we needed to end welfare because all it does is give money to African Americans who "rut like rabbits"... but apparently that is entirely irrelevant.

Right Wing Leftovers - 2/12/13

  • It has gotten to the point where Bryan Fischer's bigotry is so predictably redundant, that it is barely even worth mentioning any more.
  • It looks like Rick Scarborough's Vision America is launching something called Tea Party Unity, whatever that is.
  • Based entirely on the say-so of one remarkably untrustworthy person, the Oak Initiative is now demanding an investigation into claims that CIA nominee John Brennan secretly converted to Islam.
  • Finally, none of the claims made by Gary Bauer in this paragraph are true: "In 2009, a Department of Homeland Security report labeled as terrorists 'groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.' Such groups, the report stated, 'are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States.'”

Fischer: Every 'Secular Fundamentalist' Is an Antichrist

On Friday, Bryan Fischer proclaimed that President Obama is "an antichrist" because of his positions on marriage equality and reproductive choice. And as he explained on his Facebook page over the weekend, it is not only Obama who is "an antichrist" because everybody who does not share Fischer's rabidly right-wing views is one as well:

Christ is for religious liberty, babies in the womb and natural marriage. We can say without equivocation that Christ is for liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17), that he is unequivocally opposed to the dismembering of children in the womb (Ps. 139:13-16), and that he is for marriage as the union of one man and one woman (Matt. 19:5-6).

Whoever is against religious liberty, the sanctity of life and the sanctity of marriage has therefore set himself against Christ and is working against the purposes of Christ in the world. This makes him an "antichrist" (1 Jn 2:18), even if he is the president of the United States.

President Obama has made it clear through his abortifacient mandate in ObamaCare that he is against religious liberty. He is zealous to protect the practice of abortion, and even supported infanticide as an Illinois state senator. Thus he is opposed to the sanctity of human life. And he is an open supporter of sodomy-based marriage, which means he is opposed to the sanctity of marriage.

Thus Barack Obama is not the antichrist, but he is certainly an antichrist, along with every other secular fundamentalist who opposes the values of Christ in the public and private life of our nation. This is not an irrational rant but rather a simple statement of fact.

The left is fond of using the "anti" word to describe their opponents: anti-union, anti-abortion, anti-gay. They thus have no reason to complain if someone borrows back this perfectly good word from them and accurately applies it to opponents of the will of God, even if it is applied to someone for whom they have a messianic adoration. If someone strenuously objects to this characterization of the president, perhaps it is because he too is working against Christ and his purposes.
