Gordon Klingenschmitt Calls Anti-Bullying Bill 'No Child Left Unmolested'

When far-right pundit and anti-gay activist Gordon Klingenschmitt won election to Colorado’s House of Representatives in 2014, he suggested that he might be toning down his extremist rhetoric, which had included charges that gays want to rape children and that President Obama is ruled by 50 demons.  "I would say it is time for people of good will on both sides of the political debate to come together to have reasonable discussions about these issues," he told the Colorado Springs Gazette after his election. “Maybe that includes me. Maybe I need to tone down my rhetoric…”

Whatever motivated that particular moment of introspection (Klingenshmitt said he had been receiving death threats), it didn’t last, as RWW’s continuing coverage of “Dr. Chaps” makes clear. During his first year as a legislator he was temporarily stripped of his seat on the Health, Insurance and Environment Committee after saying that a brutal attack on a pregnant woman was a sign that God had cursed America for allowing legal abortion.

Today Klingenschmitt is reviving a charge he made three years ago against anti-bullying legislation sponsored by U.S. Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota. Religious Right groups have long opposed efforts to prevent anti-gay bullying in schools. Language from Franken’s Student Non-Discrimination Act is included in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act sponsored by Sen. Tom Harkin, complains Klingenschmitt, who calls it the “No Child Left Unmolested” amendment. He says it “mandates a pro-homose xual [sic] federal curricula for all public schools” and “bullies your Christian kids and teachers” and threatens schools with lack of funding “if they refuse to teach kids that sin is normal.”

Franken’s “No Child Left Unmolested” amendment will teach your kids to violate your Christian values, and like the Brownshirts teach your kids to report YOU as a hater or bully, if you fail to endorse homose xuality as normal. Is there no end to their depravity?

In the same email, Klingenschmitt attacks the Obama administration’s directive on the rights of transgender students as “a direct threat tantamount to child abuse.”

Last April, Klingenshmitt announced that he is running for the state Senate; the primary election will be held on June 28.

Klingenschmitt’s annoying use of “homose xual” — with a space in the middle of the word — is presumably meant to let his missives sneak through “family friendly” filtering software promoted by Religious Right groups.

Gordon Klingenschmitt Ties Himself In Knots Trying To Defend Discrimination Against Atheists

On today's "Pray In Jesus Name" program, Religious Right activist and Colorado state legislator Gordon Klingenschmitt shared his thoughts on a lawsuit filed against a California school district for refusing to inform students about scholarships that were being offered by atheist groups.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation and a local freethinker organization were offering college scholarships but district officials refused to include them on a list of scholarships that was distributed to students even though the list featured several overtly religious scholarships.

In Klingenschmitt's view, this is perfectly okay because trying to "bribe" public school students with an atheist scholarship is unconstitutional.

"To advertise atheist scholarships to all of the Christian students or the Jewish students or even the homosexual students," he said, "to say that everyone should be able to get this money if you just renounce your faith, that, to me, is itself unconstitutional. There is no place for atheist recruiters to come into your schools and recruit children to violate their parent's religion."

Offering Christian scholarships, on the other hand, is totally acceptable because the majority of students in public school are Christians, Klingenschmitt said, and so "for an opportunity to be offered to a Christian child that, if they write an essay about God that they should get Christian scholarship money, that's not bribery. They're keeping their own religion ... You're reinforcing what the parents want their kid's faith to be. This is a parental rights issue."

Sure, some atheist parents might object to students being offered a scholarship for writing Christian essays, Klingenschmitt admitted, but that is totally different than saying "to Christian children that we're going to bribe you with [a scholarship] if you convert and renounce your parent's faith about how great it is to be an atheist."

"That would be upsetting and offensive to parents who want their children raised in a Christian faith," he stated, before praying that school officials will fight this lawsuit and "stand up for the freedom of religion for Christian students in public schools to not be coerced and bribed to convert to atheism against their parent's faith."

Gordon Klingenschmitt: Gays Will 'Demand To Have Sex In Your Guest Bedroom'

On a recent episode of his "Pray In Jesus Name" program, Gordon Klingenschmitt declared that gays are driven by a demonic "spirit of persecution" that makes them attack Christians and "demand to have sex in your guest bedroom."

Klingenschmitt, who is also a Republican state legislator in Colorado, was discussing the decision by the owners of a bakery in Oregon who were fined for refusing service to a gay couple to appeal their case to the state supreme court.

"There is a spirit of persecution that is coming out of this homosexual movement," Klingenschmitt said, "and it's not enough that they get weddings in their own private churches, they want to come to your church, they want to come to your business, they might even come to your home — if you are a bed and breakfast owner, they'll come right into your home and demand to have sex in your guest bedroom and there's nothing you can do, they say, to deny them service because they have a right to violate your freedom."

"That is an evil spirit of persecution," he stated. "There are also evil spirits influencing them to come after the church and we've got to stand up, not necessarily against the humans, we've got to stand up against Satan, who is inside of them."

Cruz Promotes Support of Demon-Hunting, Anti-Gay Exorcist State Legislator Gordon Klingenschmitt

This weekend Sen. Ted Cruz announced the support of demon-hunting, anti-gay exorcist and Colorado state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt as part of his Colorado Leadership Team, stating “I am honored to have the support of so many courageous conservatives in Colorado.”

People For the American Way (PFAW) has long tracked the shocking and downright bizarre anti-Obama, anti-women, and anti-LGBT comments of Rep. Klingenschmitt. He was mocked on the Daily Show just last week for his comments against transgender people, and he’s been criticized by his fellow Republican lawmakers for his outrageous remarks, including his claim that a vicious attack on a pregnant woman in Colorado was caused by the “curse of God upon America” for legal abortion. An overview of Klingenschmitt’s extremism, including videos, is here from Right Wing Watch, a project of PFAW.

“Cruz’s choice to align with Klingenschmitt, who has been repeatedly denounced even by members of his own party, shows how dangerous a Ted Cruz presidency would be to most Americans,” said PFAW President Michael Keegan. “Even among far-right activists, Klingenschmitt’s comments stand out. Rep. Klingenschmitt has declared that ‘demonic spirits’ rule President Obama, that God cursed America for legal abortion through a brutal attack on a pregnant woman, and that teaching children about marriage equality subjects children to ‘rape, at least in their mind.’ Cruz’s decision to advertise his association with Klingenschmitt shows just how ugly his own extreme anti-gay agenda as president would be.”

Klingenschmitt is only the latest in a long list of endorsements and partnerships that Cruz has fostered with far-right extremists. For example, Cruz’s pro-life co-chair, Troy Newman, has written that God is punishing America for failing to institute the death penalty for abortion providers. Cruz has campaigned alongside Kevin Swanson, who believes a just government would execute gay people. Cruz has also touted the support of Mike Bickle, who believes that God sent Hitler as a “hunter” for the Jewish people.  For more information or to schedule an interview about the leaders and activists Cruz has engaged for his campaign, please email media@pfaw.org.

Ted Cruz Is 'Honored' To Have The Support Of Colorado's Demon-Hunting, Anti-Gay Exorcist State Legislator Gordon Klingenschmitt

We have noted several times before that there seems to be no activist who is too extreme to be embraced by Ted Cruz's presidential campaign, so we were not particularly surprised when the Texas senator recently announced that infamous demon-hunting, anti-gay exorcist/state legislator Gordon Klingenschmitt would be part of his Colorado leadership team.

Gordon Klingenschmitt Praises School Board For Standing Up To Evil, Sinful, Demonically Inspired Federal Judge

On a recent "Pray In Jesus Name" program, Religious Right activist and Colorado state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt praised members of a California school board for standing up to what he said was an evil and sinful judge who had ordered them to stop using public board meetings to proselytize on behalf of Christianity.

The Chino Valley Unified School board voted 3-2 earlier this month to appeal a court ruling from U.S. District Judge Jesus Berna ordering an end to the practice of "reciting prayers, Bible readings, and proselytizing at board meetings," and Klingenschmitt voiced his support for the board's effort to resist this demonically inspired ruling.

"Even this judge, whose first name is Jesus, hates Jesus," Klingenschmitt said. "So what is going on with this judge, who is he listening to? There is an invisible demonic spirit that is whispering to him, 'Abuse your power, judge. Turn the First Amendment upside down and ban religious expression with the power of the government sword.' And that's what this judge is doing and that sin is his voluntary cooperation with the demonic spirit that is influencing him."

Klingenschmitt said that he was grateful for the decision to appeal the ruling "because we need a holy judge to overturn this evil judge."

Klingenschmitt Promotes Column Denouncing Trump As 'Demonic'

Colorado State Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt, aka, “Dr. Chaps,” is promoting on his “Pray in Jesus Name” website a column by a Ted Cruz backer who denounces Donald Trump as “demonic” and says Trump voters are seeking a “false Messiah.”

The column’s author, Chicago-based pundit Andre Traversa, describes himself as “an online radio talk-show host, media consultant, and Bible-believing Christian with a deep concern for this nation.” Traversa sees in Ted Cruz “the opportunity to elect the most ideologically conservative president I’ve seen in my lifetime.”

He says that as Trump’s attacks on Cruz “assumed a dark and malicious character,” he realized “this was no ordinary political squabble, but a battle between the forces of light and darkness.”

When God revealed this to me, I felt called to spend a week in fasting and prayer. Today is my 6th day of having only juice and water, while I seek the Lord in prayer for our nation, as well as for revival in my own heart, life, and personal relationships.

For the last several months, I have increasingly felt that Trump voters were seeking a false messiah, asking Trump to be their personal Savior.

Traversa criticizes what he says are blatant lies that he says Trump’s “low information voters” don’t seem to care about.

In the last few days, Trump’s demonic face has become even more apparent, even to the point of blasphemy.

On Friday, Trump claimed that if people were depressed due to losing their job, “I will lift your depression, I will make you happy.”

Does Trump think he’s Jesus, who can heal our wounds and save us from ourselves? And speaking of Jesus, notice how Trump never mentions him, even while he claims to be a Christian.

Traversa says the Republican establishment would prefer Trump because Cruz will not make deals with them, and that Cruz is “a man of God” who “has promised to attract millions of non-voting Christians to the polls, which would change American politics forever.” That’s why, he reasons, Cruz is being attacked.

This prospect scares the daylights out of the elites in both parties, who hate the name of Jesus more than they’ll ever publicly admit.

Make no mistake, our war is not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities, and spiritual wickedness in high places.

A Bible-believing Christian president is a powerful weapon against demonic forces.

Do your part in Iowa, vote Cruz, and fight on the side of righteousness.

Thunder Road: Lance Wallnau Exposes The Secret Cabal Controlling The Entire Progressive Movement

On his most recent "Pray In Jesus Name" program, Gordon Klingenschmitt interviewed Lance Wallnau, a leading proponent of Seven Mountains Dominionism, which is the idea that Christians are to do "whatever is necessary" to gain influence over everything from government to education to the media.

During the interview, Wallnau told to Klingenschmitt that Christians must organize to take control of these "mountains" because they are currently being dominated by liberals, thanks to a secretive plot set in motion back in 2000.

As Wallnau explained, he learned about this secretive effort from none other than Tom DeLay, so you know it is reliable. DeLay apparently revealed to Wallnau that leading left-wing political strategists had convened a secret meeting at which 100 very wealthy donors agreed to give a million dollars apiece to found and fund a series of progressive groups that would carry out their agenda while maintaining the appearance of independence.

Wallnau asserted that this secret effort, called "Thunder Road," set out to identify the weaknesses in the conservative movement "and then created nine or 10 siege works, or engines, single-issue organizations that would be tasked to break down the wall and exploit the weakness."

Wallnau claimed that this massive effort resulted in the creation of the Center for American Progress, Media Matters, Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington (CREW), America Votes, MoveOn, and even us here at Right Wing Watch.

"It's just sheer genius, in a way, because they call them the most benevolent names possible," he said. "Let's MoveOn.org. Move on from what? Well, move on from values and God into anarchy, but they don't say that; it's move on from Bush and his nutty stuff."

"Now what you think is," Wallnau stated, "these are independent organizations that are all kind of beating the drum. What you really have is almost like a military operation of independent organizations funded, started and controlled by a central bank, central budget and central strategy."

This effort must be far more secretive than even Wallnau recognizes, considering that we are supposedly a part of it and we've never even heard anything about it.

Alan Keyes Says Obama Is 'The First Anti-American To Ever Occupy The White House'

Alan Keyes was the guest on several episodes of Gordon Klingenschmitt's "Pray In Jesus Name" program this week, where he asserted that it was "insane" for America to ever have elected President Obama.

On Tuesday's program, Klingenschmitt and Keyes, who was Obama's Republican opponent in the 2004 U.S. Senate race in Illinois, discussed the incident earlier this month in which Iran briefly detained and quickly released several U.S. Navy sailors who had inadvertently crossed into Iranian waters due to mechanical problems, with Keyes blasting Obama for supposedly deliberately weakening America and its military because he hates this nation.

"Obama has essentially turned us into a kind of footstool for these people," he stated. "They despise us and no longer believe that we have the will to use such power as we have. And the second thing, sadly, is I think Obama has actually let our power deteriorate to a point where, in terms of the actual wherewithal to deal with some of these situations, he's let it slide. And he's also been a person who, in his rules of engagement and other activities, has done what seems prone to do; he's attacked the people who are supposed to defend us, he's demoralized the soldiers who are responsible for defending us."

"He has actually behaved as what I called him years ago," Keyes concluded. "He's the first anti-American ever to occupy the White House and it was insane to put him there!"

Conservative Commentator Says 'Jewish Guilt' Causes Jews To Cast A 'Suicide Vote' For Democrats

On his "Pray In Jesus Name" program yesterday, Gordon Klingenschmitt interviewed right-wing radio host and political commentator Josh Bernstein, who offered his insightful opinion about how "Jewish guilt" regularly causes Jews to cast a "suicide vote" in support of Democratic candidates.

"I believe that most Jews that are not religious, that are more secular, are more in favor of being Democrats because of Jewish guilt," Bernstein explained. "Jews are known as the chosen people and, in the Torah, there is a section called Tikkun Olam, which means 'to heal the world.' So Jews, as the chosen people, they're usually more wealthy, they're usually more educated and they usually are in an upper eschalon in society ... and so there's an internal guilt that they feel about that. And so what they do instead is that they vote for, quote, the disenfranchised or the little guy or the people that need a leg up in society. But what they don't understand is that typically the folks that they vote for are the most anti-Semitic so, in essence, it becomes a suicide vote."

"If you look at it from a biblical perspective," he concluded, "and you look at what the Torah says, you can understand quite succinctly why Jews are more liberal."

GOP Lawmaker Circulates Post Calling For Execution Of The Judge In Oregon Land Case

It seems that at least one more GOP lawmaker has come out in favor of the seizure of a federal building by Ammon Bundy’s makeshift militia in protest of the resentencing of Steven and Dwight Hammond for arson on federal property.

And of course it’s Gordon Klingenschmitt.

Klingenschmitt, the Colorado state representative/televangelist/demon-hunter/exorcist/conspiracy theorist, shared a post on his Facebook page suggesting that the judge presiding over the Hammons’ case is guilty of treason and should therefore be hanged.

ALL JUDGES who do not allow Constitutional law to be cited to the Jury needs to be PROSECUTED for Title 18 U.S. Code section 2381 Capital Felony Treason

Title 18 U.S. Code section 2381
When in the presence of two witnesses to the same overt act or in an open court of law if you fail to timely move to protect and defend the constitution of the United States and honor your oath of office you are subject to the charge of capital felony treason, and upon conviction you will be taken by the posse to the nearest busy intersection and at high noon hung by the neck until dead…The body to remain in state till dusk as an example to anyone who takes his oath of office lightly.

In the comment section, Klingenschmitt said of the militia: “I will disagree with them if they turn violent, but not until then.”

During the 2014 standoff at the Bundy ranch between militia members and law enforcement agents, the Republican lawmaker told viewers of his “Pray In Jesus Name” broadcast that the government might try to murder the people in “the freedom movement” at the ranch and bury their bodies in a mass graves.

Gordon Klingenschmitt Says Gays Are Driven By A 'Demonic Spirit Of Lust' To Persecute Christians

Gordon Klingenschmitt is outraged by a Massachusetts court decision finding that a Catholic school discriminated against a man when it rescinded a job offer to him after learning that he was gay and married, declaring that the lawsuit demonstrates that gay people are driven by a "demonic spirit of lust" to persecute Christians.

The Colorado Republican lawmaker said on his "Pray In Jesus Name" program yesterday that the lawsuit shows that "there is a demonic spirit here of persecution against the church" and that gay people do not simply want to be left alone but rather are intent on "coming after the church."

"They're coming after us," Klingenschmitt warned. "They don't care about the First Amendment. They don't care about the Constitution. They just want power. And this is not about sexuality any more, it's about power and that's a demonic spirit of lust; not just lust for another man, but lust for power over the Christian people who yearn to breathe free":

Gordon Klingenschmitt Blames Demonic Influence For Failure To Defund Planned Parenthood

On his "Pray In Jesus Name" program recently, Colorado state lawmaker and Religious Right activist Gordon Klingenschmitt blamed the "demonic spirit of murder" for congressional failure to defund Planned Parenthood.

"Did you know there is also a spiritual world that is influencing these key players?" Klingenschmitt asked. "When the evil spirit, the spirit of Satan influences people to sin and the people humanly choose sin, they're listening to and cooperating with and collaborating with and contracting with that evil spirit who gets inside of them and becomes manifest through their behavior."

"So you see the invisible spirits, the Holy Spirit of God with his angels and the demonic spirits are speaking to each of these human actors in this scenario," he continued, "and we can discern, for example, upon those who promote a pro-abortion agenda the demonic spirit of murder who is influencing them and forcing us, as taxpayers, to collaborate with them to fund the killing of innocent children and that is wrong and that is evil and that is demonic."

William Murray Blames Paris Attacks On Selfish European Women Who Aren't Having Children

William Murray, chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition and founder of the Government Is Not God PAC, was a guest on Gordon Klingenschmitt's "Pray In Jesus Name" program today, where he was asked to share his "expertise" on last week's terrorist attacks in Paris.

As Murray explained it, such attacks should not come as a surprise since France and Europe as a whole have been "overrun" by Muslims because European women are too selfish and short-sighted to dedicate their lives to having children.

"Here is the core issue," Murray stated, "Europe has been importing hundreds of thousands of Muslims because the women of Europe don't want to have children. They want to play, they want to have fun, they want to go on long vacations, they want to have money, they want to have cars, they want to have nice apartments, they're secularly motivated, the church is almost dead in Europe ... They don't believe that the propagation of the species is the most important thing that they're here for, they think that the most important thing that they're here for are the secular reasons, to have fun. That's what they believe they're on earth for, to spend money and to have fun. So they're importing these hundreds of thousands of Muslims in in order to work because they simply don't have children."
