Michele Bachmann Wants To Impeach Obama, Then Calls Impeachment A Democratic Plot

In an appearance on “The Lars Larson Show” last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann repeated GOP talking points about how President Obama is somehow behind the Republican-led effort to impeach him.

Bachmann told Larson that Obama is trying to “egg” Republicans to impeach him in order to “help his electoral chances in the fall,” and then will go ahead and “take any lawless action that he wants to because he really doesn’t think that the Republicans will impeach him. He figures it’s an open field day and now is the time to get everything he wants with his radical agenda.”

Yes, it is Obama who is behind the calls coming from congressional Republicans to impeach him,  it’s not like any Republican members of Congress, such as Michele Bachmann, would ever suggest Republicans do something like that… except for when she suggested last month that the GOP should make the case for impeachment and rally voters behind it. In fact, Bachmann backed calls to impeach Obama as far back as 2011.

What our president has done is commit impeachable offenses. He has committed them in terms of his lawless acts, he has failed to execute the laws. He said that he would not uphold the Defense of Marriage Act, which is a constitutionally passed law, he said he would not uphold that, as did his attorney general Eric Holder. That, as well as the President changing law like Obamacare, he writes with a press conference or with a Tweet or a Facebook or an announcement of one of his underlings, and then orders the executive branch to carry out his words rather than the law. That rises to the level of an impeachable offense.

Legally, do I believe our president has committed impeachable offenses? Yes I do. And I believe that our president is subject to impeachment. However, I agree with Andy McCarthy in that not only is impeachment a legal issue, it is even more so a political issue. The American people have to agree with and be behind and call for the president’s impeachment. Why do I say that? I say that because we the people who are elected in the United States Congress, we are here to be the voice of the people and we need to reflect what it is what the people are telling us.

There is a group of people who see that this president has committed an impeachable offense and are anxious for Congress to do something, but if you look at the overwhelming number of people, they just aren’t there yet and it is up to Congress to make the case and explain to the people why we have to impeach.

Ted Nugent Derides His Critics As Smelly, Dirty Communists Who Hate America

Ted Nugent is not pleased that a string of Native American tribes have cancelled his concerts, and visited “The Lars Larson Show” yesterday to claim that he is being persecuted for simply loving America too much and defeating all of his opponents in debates.

“I call them unclean varmints, I’ve actually gone by them and I mean it, they’re hygiene-challenged, they actually stink, they’re dirty people, they’re unclean, they’re bused in to Connecticut and New Jersey and different places to protest a Ted Nugent concert but, Lars, they are so stoned or just brain dead, they actually wear their American Communist Party regalia, they’re not smart enough to take off their identification that they’re not really protesters, they’ve been paid and bussed in.”

The tribes are facing pressure to cancel his concerts, Nugent explains, because they know he is “so good at getting across the self-evident truth that makes America the last best place, they know they can’t debate me, they know what I did to Piers Morgan and everybody who tries to debate me.”

He then lamented that his critics use “nasty, hateful” words against him, which we know Ted Nugent would never do.

Nugent then defended his relationship with Native American tribes, castigating his “haters” as “soulless, vicious, evil, rotten” people who “hate Ted Nugent, hate America and hate freedom.”

Dinesh D'Souza: 'I Don't Want To Seem Like A Crybaby' But Google And Costco Are Persecuting Me

Conservative activist Dinesh D’Souza insists that he is the victim of persecution by a left-wing conspiracy emanating from the White House which directed Costco, the New York Times and Google to discriminate against his latest anti-Obama movie and companion book, “America: Imagine the World Without Her.”

D’Souza recently suggested that he was also the victim of a nefarious Obama plot when he was charged with breaking campaign finance laws, which he admitted to doing and to which he ultimately pleaded guilty. (He initially pleaded not guilty to “get his story out there.”)

As Dave Weigel explained recently, D’Souza has riled up conservative angst by arguing, with no evidence, that Costco pulled his book not because of low sales but as the result of a political vendetta against him, and that Google is making it difficult for potential viewers to find show time information for his film: “Only after the author/campaign finance scofflaw threw several fits about the bias that was preventing America (the country, not the movie) from reading his book did purchasing it become a cause. Up the charts it went, as gullible people took their stands against bias.”

D’Souza took his persecution story to “The Lars Larson Show” yesterday, where he claimed that he isn’t being a crybaby and that he was just asking the question as to whether Google and Costco are part of a political conspiracy against him.

“It is not [accidental]. When you look at both Costco and Google, it is the case that the top executives of both of those companies are very much in bed with Obama. Now, that’s a fact. It doesn’t mean they run their corporation that way and I am sure there are other companies where the CEOs give to Obama or gave to Romney and nevertheless they have customers and they are happy to service them across the political spectrum,” he said.

“I don’t want to seem like a crybaby, I’ve tried to be very restrained with Google and just say, ‘I am puzzled, I am baffled, I am frustrated.’ I am not saying anything more than that but it has been now over two weeks and it is time to get this settled.”

After his lawyers contacted Google and D’Souza hit conservative media outlets with his tale of persecution, a Google representative explained that, shockingly enough, “America” is actually “a common term and appears in many movie titles.”

And at least according to a Google search that I just conducted, the “problem” seems to be resolved…or maybe that is just what Google wants you to think.

Lars Larson Claims Anti-Gay Activists Face Same Plight As Those Killed For Blasphemy

Conservative talk show host Lars Larson and Breitbart columnist C. Edmund Wright added their voices last week to right-wing outrage over NFL recruit Michael Sam’s televised kiss with his boyfriend, linking the kiss to supposed anti-Christian persecution in America.

Suggesting that all Christians are hostile to gay rights and gay people, Wright said he “doubts” Christians who work for ESPN “share all of this celebration that’s going on throughout the media and their employer.”

Larson, for his part, compared media coverage of Sam’s kiss to laws making it a capital crime to insult Mohammed: “You know what I compare it to, if you go to certain countries on this planet and you say a harsh word about Mohammad, the penalty is death. In America, if you say a harsh word about somebody who is homosexual, the idea is a public death or an economic death or a career death. So what’s the difference in that kind of thinking?”

Wright criticized ESPN anchors for “slobbering” over Sam, adding that it was "not necessarily a great moment for America.”

“They want to be celebrated and elevated and they want to quash anyone who dares not do that,” he said.

Reassuring his audience that he has “friends who are gay,” Larson claimed coverage of Sam’s kiss reveals the “ugly” side of “homosexual advocacy groups.”

Rick Santorum Is Angry The 'Academic Progressive Elitist Left' Wants To 'Ram All This Stuff Down Our Throat And We Just Take It'

After insisting that his false predictions about the Lawrence v. Texas decision actually came true, Rick Santorum told conservative radio host Lars Larson last week that it is time the right-wing “majority” demand schools require Bible instruction in the classroom.

“We are the majority, the people who believe in the [conservative] values you were just talking about are the majority of people in this country, but we’ve allowed the elite, the academic progressive elitist left to ram all this stuff down our throat and we just take it,” Santorum said. “We need to take it back. We need to say, why is the Bible not taught in schools? They’ll say, ‘oh Lars this is terrible.’ The Bible is the basis of Western Civilization.

Larson agreed, “I would do it, I would require it, I’d love to see that.”

“Right,” Santorum responded, before discussing how “we need to give parents control of the education system in this country.”

Rick Santorum Says His Bogus Lawrence V. Texas Predictions Came True

Rick Santorum last week told a conservative talk show host that his predictions about the ramifications of Lawrence v. Texas, the 2003 Supreme Court case that knocked down laws banning gay sex, have come true.

After host Lars Larson told the former presidential candidate that “the last several years have proved that you were absolutely right” on “homosexual issues,” Santorum said that “if you go back and look at the interviews I did when the Lawrence v. Texas case was decided and I said here are the consequences of what’s going to happen here, I said it in the next ten years and it was the next eight years or nine years.”

Santorum said following the Lawrence decision that “if the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything.”

Despite Santorum’s self-congratulatory remarks, bigamy, polygamy, and incest have not been legalized in the US, or in any of the states that have marriage equality laws for that matter.

He also told Larson that conservatives are losing their “religious liberty” and “the ability to disagree.”

Rep. Lou Barletta: Sanctuary Cities Making Us 'A Third-World Country'

Republican Rep. Lou Barletta of Pennsylvania said last week that policies friendly to undocumented immigrants "reward people who want to tear down our laws and make us a third-world country."

Speaking with radio host Lars Larson at the anti-immigrant group FAIR's "Hold Their Feet to The Fire" event, Barletta complained about "sanctuary cities," which he has previously proposed cutting off from federal funding. Barletta is the former mayor of Hazleton, Pa., where he enacted one of the harshest anti-immigrant ordinances in the country, which was struck down by federal courts before it could ever be enforced.

"We continue to send federal dollars to mayors who are above the law," he said. "And then you have a mayor, such as myself in Hazleton, who gets sued for wanting to enforce the laws.

"And there's something wrong with the direction this country's been going when we begin to reward people who want to tear down our laws and make us a third-world country where we get to pick and choose what we want to do."

Larson: If the party picks [Jeb Bush] as the nominee, they're sending a powerful message to Americans that we're going to give away the vote and we're going to give away the whole meaning of what it means to obey the law.

Barletta: Absolutely, and it's what made our country so exceptional is that we were a country that has laws, and you cannot pick and choose what laws you enforce and what laws you can't. But here you have in the case of immigration -- illegal immigration -- you have mayors who declare themselves sanctuary cities, who are not going to enforce immigration laws. Nothing happens to them. We continue to send federal dollars to mayors who are above the law. And then you have a mayor, such as myself in Hazleton, who gets sued for wanting to enforce the laws.

And there's something wrong with the direction this country's been going when we begin to reward people who want to tear down our laws and make us a third-world country where we get to pick and choose what we want to do.

D'Souza: Obama's 'Optical Illusion' Tricked Voters Who Feared Electing 'An Angry Black Man'

Last week during CPAC, Dinesh D’Souza stopped by The Lars Larson Show and told the conservative commentator that President Obama was elected because “the American people, in a sense, fell for an optical illusion.”

He said that voters went with Obama because they didn’t want to make “an angry black man” who backed “racial reparations” the country’s first black president, not realizing that Obama is actually “more radical” than such a candidate because “he supports global reparations on a non-racial basis.”

Larson: How did we end up with a president who didn’t look out first and foremost for America’s best interests and the best interests of the people here, and somehow cast himself as, what, a president of the world?

D’Souza: What really happened Lars I think is this: the American people, in a sense, fell for an optical illusion. The American people were scared that our first black president would be, in a sense, you may say an angry black man, some sort of a radical who would be calling for racial reparations. And Obama didn’t do that and so people went ‘phew, he’s not like that, he’s going to be somebody who will look out for the country.’ What they didn’t realize was that although Obama doesn’t support racial reparations, he supports global reparations on a non-racial basis. So he is actually in a way more radical. But that was not seen by most people and is only becoming sadly apparent now.

D’Souza also warned that Hillary Clinton would fulfill Obama’s “radical” agenda if she follows him as president.

“My feeling is that Hillary is closer to Barack than she is to Bill,” D’Souza said. “Hillary was always the radical in that duo.”

“I think Obama may have intuited that if he’s going to remake America in the way that he said he was going to, he may have decided, ‘Eight years is not enough, if I had the Congress I might have been able to do it, I need sixteen years.’ So I wonder if in Obama’s mind he’s thinking, ‘If I give the baton to Hillary, will she run in the same direction that I’ve been running?’”

Louie Gohmert Warns Obamacare Will Lower Life Expectancy

In an interview with Lars Larson last week, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) said he opposes “fixes” to Obamacare because that would preserve the health care reform law, which he wants to see postponed until it is fully repealed. Gohmert then told Larson that the Affordable Care Act will actually lower life expectancy in the US.

“I’m willing to postpone as much of it as we can, hoping that in 2016 we really will get a president who has the best interest of a free nation at heart and not one going socialist,” Gohmert said. “If we keep doing little fixes to it, that also helps keep it, so I would rather postpone it as much as possible without doing little fixes because the little fixes could end up giving us a system where we see the morality rate start coming down, you die earlier, not because it’s an actual death panel but because you don’t get the treatment.”

Gohmert may be curious to know that life expectancy in America is actually lower than in Western countries with universal health care.

Michele Bachmann Laments That 'The Gay Community Have So Bullied The American People'

Still reeling from the demise of Arizona’s “right-to-discriminate” bill, Michele Bachmann said last week that she is tired of gay people “bullying” her and the American people.

The Minnesota congresswoman told talk show host Lars Larson in an interview at CPAC that the gay community distorted the Arizona bill by making it about gay rights — even though the bill’s sponsor himself said it was about same-sex marriage.

“There’s nothing about gays in there, but the gay community decided to make this their measure,” Bachmann said. “And the thing that I think is getting a little tiresome is the gay community have so bullied the American people and they have so intimidated politicians that politicians fear them and they think they get to dictate the agenda everywhere. Well, not with the Constitution you don’t.”

She added that gay people and “activist judges” are trying to take away her freedom: “If you want take away my religious liberties, you can advocate for that but you do it through the constitutional process and you don’t intimidate and no politician should give away my religious liberties or yours.”

Bachmann: Thank God For The Koch Brothers

Michele Bachmann says she thanks God for the Koch Brothers, the billionaire duo who have contributed tens of millions of dollars to conservative causes. During an interview at the Koch-sponsored Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) last week, Bachmann defended the pro-GOP mega-donors against recent criticism from Senate majority leader Harry Reid.

The Minnesota congresswoman claimed that more wealthy donors would give to conservative causes if progressives weren’t “intimidating people from giving money to our cause” and suggested that people who criticize conservative donors be tried under the anti-organized crime RICO Act.

Bachmann told conservative talk show host Lars Larson that she thanks God for the Kochs and their giving:

I just thank God that there’s a billionaire or two on our side. All the billionaires seem to be on the radical left, so I’m glad that we have a couple on ours. I hope we get a few more that are willing that come out but realize also this is an intimidation movement, I’m sure that the donors on our side don’t like to have their names vilified and that’s what this is about, intimidating people from giving money to our cause, that’s it. There’s something called the RICO statute, the racketeering law, that should be applied against them for doing this.

Priebus: Democrats Secretly Oppose Unemployment Insurance As Part Of Obamacare Plot

Yesterday, all but six Republicans voted to block the Senate from taking up a bill extending unemployment insurance for three months. But according to RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, it is actually the Democrats who don’t want jobless aid to pass the Senate.

That’s right, even though his own party has tried to throw a wrench into efforts to extend aid to 1.3 million jobseekers — the GOP’s position would even threaten job growth and cut GDP — Priebus yesterday told radio host Lars Larson that Democrats “don’t want this to pass.” He claimed that the Democrats’ attempt to pass emergency jobless aid was in fact a ploy to “avoid Obamacare.”

Priebus claimed that President Obama is promoting income inequality, even though the federal programs such as food stamps that Republicans want to drastically cut keep millions of people out of poverty.

Priebus: I think the President is the king of income inequality. He has doubled food stamps, the poor are poorer under this president, Wall Street is doing better under this president and he’s jamming Obamacare under everybody’s throat. That’s his record.

Larson: The first three months of this extension — if the Houses is crazy enough to pass it — costs about $6-7 billion.

Priebus: All of this kind of stuff is ridiculous because we’re spending all of our time actually talking and perpetrating what the Democrats actually want. They don’t want this to pass, what they want to do is they want to talk about these things, they want to talk about minimum wage and what they want to do ultimately is create a campaign issue, this sort of rich vs. poor, the same old thing they can do and avoid Obamacare. That’s what they want.

Perhaps Priebus should have listened to the interview with Larson’s other guest today, Sen. Jim Inhofe.

The Oklahoma Republican in no uncertain terms said he has consistently opposes extensions of unemployment insurance. He also contradicted Priebus by saying that Democrats do in fact want to extend such aid…but only because it will encourage joblessness and government dependency.

“I think that we’ve developed a society that, you know, as long as they don’t have to work they don’t work. I’ve always opposed extending that and I’ve opposed that in my own state,” Inhofe said. “This president has intentionally put us in the position where people are relying upon government for their existence, this is just one element in that overall program.”

Sen. Inhofe Agrees That Obama 'Is On The Other Side' In The War On Terror, Iran Policy

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) agreed with a conservative talk show host’s claim during an interview yesterday that President Obama is “on the other side” when it comes to US foreign policy interests in the Mideast.

Speaking to the Republican lawmaker, host Lars Larson said that “when you look at what this President has done in Egypt, in Syria, in Libya, in Iraq, in other places, it’s almost like he’s on the other side.”

“Well don’t forget Iran,” the senator added.

“I have to agree with you,” Inhofe continued. “I’m not a conspirator either but I wonder, there’s such a repetition, we are over and over again, it’s always — the other guys are always the good guys and we’re the bad guys. Then you look at it through the eyes of the Israelis — Netanyahu shakes his head and wonders why in the world we didn’t learn on 9/11 that the threat is out there and it’s very real — so I’m with you.”

Former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld has also wondered if Obama “switched sides” in the war on terror.

Bachmann: 'Treasonous' Obama Wants Iran To Have A Nuclear Bomb

In an appearance on The Lars Larson Show last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) claimed that President Obama wants to allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. Bachmann called Wendy Sherman, the State Department’s lead negotiator with Iran, a “terrible negotiator” and said “her goal is to make sure that Iran has full ability to continue to enrich uranium and continue to stockpile it, they will have the full ability to create a nuclear bomb.”

“For some unknown reason the Obama administration wants the last country in the world that should have a nuclear bomb to get one,” Bachmann said. “Call your member of Congress, tell them ‘I want you to stop President Obama from giving the ability to have a nuclear bomb to Iran and that’s the bottom line of what’s happening here.’”

“It is treasonous and I think that’s why you hear more and more people calling for the impeachment of the President of the United States,” she continued. This isn’t the first time Bachmann has floated Obama’s impeachment.

Bachmann also seemed to suggest that North Korea developed nuclear capabilities under Obama even though its first nuclear test was in 2006: “Why do they want to allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, just like they did with North Korea? The Obama administration and Wendy Sherman in particular will have to answer that, I can’t. I don’t understand them, I don’t understand the thoughts and intentions of their heart.”

“What I do understand is that my children and your children and the children of all of your listeners have the goal of making sure that when they tuck their children in tonight, their children are going to be peaceful and sleep secure, and we will not have that dynamic if Iran obtains a nuclear weapon,” Bachmann said.

Nugent: Obama Like A Crack Addict

Ted Nugent compared President Obama to a crack addict and an alcoholic during an interview yesterday with conservative radio host Lars Larson. After attacking Obama for “violating his oath, violating the basics of America, the basics of ‘We The People,’” the NRA board member said Obama reminds him of a “criminal son or daughter asking for more allowance so they can buy more crack.”

“Their spending ways can only be described as a drunken idiot, the waste, the corruption, the fraud, the deceit, the abuse of power, it breaks my heart.”

Bachmann: Clintons Closely Tied To Muslim Brotherhood

Louie Gohmert wasn’t the only far-right congressman to stop by The Lars Larson Show in recent days, as Michele Bachmann last week told the conservative radio host that “the Clintons have very close ties to people who have very close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.”

“We’re not talking about the Lutheran Brotherhood here, we’re talking about the Muslim Brotherhood,” Bachmann said, once again pointing to Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin as a Muslim Brotherhood agent.

Gohmert Claims Obamacare Will Lead To Mass Unemployment, Refusal Of Pacemakers

Yesterday, after suggesting that the Obama administration is opening the door for domestic terrorism and aiding Al Qaeda, Rep. Louie Gohmert and talk show host Lars Larson talked about the alleged dangers of Obamacare. The Texas Republican claimed that once “Obamacare kicks in fully, you can’t get your pacemaker, you can’t have this, you can’t have that.”

He then went after PolitiFact and accused them of being “Democratic operatives” for refuting one of his claims about the reform law. While PolitiFact, a non-partisan group, has rebutted plenty of Gohmert’s untrue statements, he was actually referring to a report by FactCheck.org, which is run by the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Public Policy Center.

“It’s just so bad for most Americans, it’s just terrible,” Gohmert claimed.

Gohmert also attacked the Senate immigration bill for including a Republican provision that prevents formerly undocumented immigrants from receiving health insurance subsidies.

Gohmert: The Senate says there solution is the immigration bill they passed because under their immigration bill companies would have a hard time not doing what the Senate bill encourages and that is firing every fulltime American employee and hiring the immigrants who have just been given legal status because if you fire the Americans and hire the people that came in illegally, they get legal status under the Senate bill, then you don’t have to provide them Obamacare insurance or pay the fines. SO maybe if the Senate got everything they wanted, both Obamacare and their amnesty bill, you’d have most Americans that work for big companies losing their jobs all over America.

Larson: So we’re just going to hand all the jobs to people who aren’t legally in the country and say they’re cheaper to employ because we don’t have to buy health insurance for them.

Gohmert: Right, exactly. That’s what the Senate immigration bill does.

Gohmert: Obama Administration Supports Al Qaeda And Opened The Door For Domestic Terrorist Attacks

During an interview with a conservative talk show host yesterday, Rep. Louie Gohmert suggested that terrorists may not fear attacking a mall in a city in Texas as a result of the Obama administration’s supposed support for Al Qaeda.

After right-wing commentator Lars Larson brought up the massacre in a mall in Nairobi, Kenya, he told the congressman that he would “bet those Islamic terrorists wouldn’t have tried that in a Texas shopping mall.”

“Well, I don’t know, it’s hard to say.” Gohmert replied. “Right now when they know that the federal government is supporting Muslim Brothers and Al Qaeda in places like Syria, where this administration just sent hundreds of tons of weapons, it’s like some of our allies were asking a few weeks ago when I was in the Middle East, ‘We’re wondering which one of us is going to be thrown under the bus next. You’re supporting the guys that believe what the bombers did on 9/11.’”

“We keep helping those that want to destroy us and casting aside allies that want to fight against the bad guys,” Gohmert said.

Rep. Ted Poe: Justice Department Review of Zimmerman Case an 'Abuse of Power'

Conservative outlets have continued to spread the repeatedly debunked story that the Department of Justice had a role in the public demonstrations that followed the killing of Trayvon Martin, and the fallacious account has naturally been embraced by at least one House Republican.

In an interview with Lars Larson yesterday, Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) called the DOJ’s review of the George Zimmerman case “a political decision based upon the prejudice of the Justice Department” and a move by the Obama administration to use “the Justice Department for its own political gain.”

“The call that the Justice Debarment, before the trial ever began, went to Florida and stirred up public support for the prosecution of Zimmerman; the Justice Department has no business ever doing that in any case,” Poe told Larson. But as Fox News reported, the DOJ only sent mediators whose responsibilities focused on “how to manage crowds and easing tensions” during the protests.

“The Justice Department has shown its bias, Eric Holder showed his bias when he talked about it; I call him Eric With-holder because he withholds so much information from Congress.”

The congressman lamented that Zimmerman may now “have to suffer the consequences of abuse of power by the United States Justice Department.”

Gallagher: Supreme Court DOMA Decision a 'Declaration of War' Against Half of America

Not content with just claiming that Justice Anthony Kennedy has proclaimed a “fatwa” against opponents of gay marriage, National Organization for Marriage founder Maggie Gallagher is now blasting the Supreme Court for issuing a “head-on declaration of war against at least half of the American people.”

In an interview with Lars Larson, Gallagher said that the court’s pro-marriage equality rulings limit the “democratic rights” of activists who seek to ban same-sex unions and argued that the justices could “not name” where gay and lesbian couples are protected in the Constitution.
