Fringe Pastor Wonders If Michael Sam Will Marry A 9-Year-Old Boy

Everyone’s favorite insanely bigoted pastor James David Manning believes that same-sex marriage, or as he refers to it, “legalized perverted orgies,” will pave the way for child-marriage when “someone like Michael Sam or others” legally weds a 9-year-old boy.

Manning shares his theory in a video posted on his website today:

Manning is also upset that the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the latest “victim” of “the power of sodomy” that is “spreading like wildfire.”

“St. Patrick’s Day Parade has fallen to this wickedness spreading across America,” Manning said, even calling Cardinal Timothy Dolan the “sodomite leader.”

Fischer: NFL 'Discriminated Against Everybody But Michael Sam'

The American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer, who isn’t exactly a fan of Michael Sam, said that the only reason the Dallas Cowboys signed Sam to the team’s practice squad was due to pressure from NFL officials, even though Cowboys owner Jerry Jones flatly denied the suggestion.

The “Focal Point” host argued today that Sam is only on the practice squad “because he’s a homosexual.”

“What the NFL has done here is they have discriminated against every heterosexual football player that also got cut,” Fischer said. “They didn’t go to bat for those guys, they discriminated against everybody but Michael Sam.”

WND: Michael Sam Will 'Emasculate' NFL, 'Tony Dungy Is Being Crucified' Over Anti-Gay Remarks

Religious Right activists often attempt to defend anti-gay remarks by insisting that the remarks are merely expressions of religious faith. And that is exactly how they are handling the controversy over former NFL coach Tony Dungy’s comment that he wouldn’t draft Michael Sam because he wouldn’t want “to deal with” attention over his sexual orientation.

Take, for example, WorldNetDaily columnist Carl Jackson, who today not only suggests that Dungy should be immune from criticism because he is a Christian, but insists that anyone who dared to disagree with his remarks has actually “persecuted” and “crucified” him “because he had the courage to say what everyone else thought about the rookie pick.”

“The NFL is being successfully emasculated by the left as evidenced by their pink apparel, the exhortation of an openly gay male in an otherwise super masculine sport and now the demonization of a coach that epitomizes what it means to be a real man,” he writes. Of course, the “pink apparel” he refers to is meant to promote the fight against breast cancer.

There’s a reason Michael Sam was the 249th pick in the seventh round of the NFL draft; the owners, coaches and GMs alike determined he wasn’t good enough to endure the media circus that would accompany him. Tony Dungy, former professional AFL player and first black head NFL coach to win the Super Bowl, has found himself in the midst of a PC firestorm because he had the courage to say what everyone else thought about the rookie pick.

Make no mistake about it: Tony Dungy is being crucified by some of his colleagues in sports media not because they disagree with him, but like Tim Tebow, because of whom and what he represents – Christ, common sense, decency and objective truth. For immoral behavior to be accepted in any culture, moral behavior as well as the source of that moral behavior (Jesus Christ) must be demonized. Political flunky and all around arrogant jerk Keith Olbermann went so far as to say that Tony Dungy is “the worst person in the sports world.” Really, Keithy? Only in a society that refuses to recognize moral absolutes can degenerate bullies like Keith Olbermann get away with spewing such nonsense and vitriol.

It’s become increasingly apparent that sports networks are following in the footsteps of MTV; they’re just as focused on shaping culture as they are displaying talent. The sports media’s hyperbolic and hypocritical reaction to Tony Dungy’s statement regarding whether or not he would’ve drafted Michael Sam proves the Michael Sam pick was just as much a political and cultural calculation for the NFL as it was legitimate.

There’s a valuable lesson to be learned here. The left’s triune god, their “Untouchables” per se, consists of minorities, women and gays. The NFL is being successfully emasculated by the left as evidenced by their pink apparel, the exhortation of an openly gay male in an otherwise super masculine sport and now the demonization of a coach that epitomizes what it means to be a real man. Those of us that are Christian, conservatives or both should expect persecution. However, we can rest assured that even if we’re the only voice crying in the wilderness, we’re still right.

Tim Wildmon: Putting Michael Sam 'In With All That Beefcake' Is 'Unfair To The Straight Players'

In a fundraising email today, American Family Association president Tim Wildmon starts out by criticizing Keith Olbermann for naming as his “worst person in sports” a former NFL coach who said he would not have drafted openly gay player Michael Sam because “things will happen” and he “wouldn’t want to deal with all of it.”

But Wildmon uses the anecdote to launch into a larger indictment of the progressive movement and its “PC Gestapo,” which he asserts is “out to destroy our country as it has existed” by being “against patriotism,” “against religion,” “against our Constitutional Bill of Rights,” and “most certainly is for promoting the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender movement and punishing people who dare speak against it.”

Which leads Wildmon back to Michael Sam. Having been a sports reporter and been in locker rooms himself, Wildmon can definitively say that “[p]utting a man like Sam, who says he is sexually attracted to men, in with all that beefcake seems unfair to the straight players and a distraction to Sam.”

The politically correct or "progressive" crowd found a new target this week. When asked about "out and proud" football player Michael Sam, former NFL coach Tony Dungy said he would not have drafted Sam had he still been coaching. Said Dungy: "I wouldn't have [drafted] him. Not because I don't believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn’t want to deal with all of it.  It's not going to be totally smooth...things will happen."

For this comment, ESPN commentator Keith Olbermann named Dungy the "Worst Person in the World" on Monday night. Condemnations of Dungy came from all over.

This is where the "progressive" movement is. If you hold a view that is not in agreement with theirs, you are to be demonized by them, the progressives, who, ironically, don't believe in demons. Why do they do this? Because they, the progressives, consider themselves morally superior to those of us who hold traditional values even though, again, ironically, progressives don’t believe in moral values unless they define them. They moralize against those who promote morality.

The progressive movement is out to destroy our country as it has existed. It is against patriotism. It is against religion in general and is in particular hostile to evangelical Christianity and traditional Catholicism. It is against borders. It is against capitalism. It is for high taxation and government control and regulation of almost everything. It wants people depending on government so they can be controlled. It believes government debt is good. It is against our Constitutional Bill of Rights, in particular the First and Second Amendments. It is for abortion on demand even through nine months of pregnancy. It wants to downgrade the American military.  It rejects the idea that Western Civilization is superior to other civilizations. And it most certainly is for promoting the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender movement and punishing people who dare speak against it.

Basically, what I have just described is the platform of the modern day Democrat Party and the philosophy/agenda of much of the New York/Washington, D.C., liberal media, Hollywood and most university campuses. When Barrack [sic] Obama said he wanted to "fundamentally transform" America, what he was saying to his fellow hardcore progressives was: "I've got the wrecking-ball ready."

Sexually, God made man for woman and woman for man. It's obvious. It's natural. Progressives can't stand this. So they are always trying to equate homosexuality with heterosexuality or elevate homosexuality over heterosexuality. When someone like Dungy makes a comment that can in any way been seen as challenging this narrative then that person must be immediately discredited or publicly shamed no matter the truth of what he is saying.

By the way, having been a sports reporter for a few years I've been in many football locker rooms where the players walk around naked or half-naked, changing clothes and going in and out of the showers. Putting a man like Sam, who says he is sexually attracted to men, in with all that beefcake seems unfair to the straight players and a distraction to Sam.

Would you put a heterosexual man in the locker room/showers with all the female cheerleaders? Would you tell the girl cheerleaders who objected to this man being in the locker room that they needed to end their bigoted and sexist attitude and treat the man with respect?

Tony Dungy will probably survive being the "worst person in the world." But the fact that he is in the crosshairs of the PC Gestapo over this comment is chilling to free speech and free thinking.

It's ironic that the people who now scream the loudest about tolerance have become the least tolerant among us.

Sincerely,

Tim Wildmon, President

Peter LaBarbera Tells Michael Sam To Get Ex-Gay Therapy Or Be Reviled

Americans For Truth About Homosexuality’s Peter LaBarbera has sent a letter to Michael Sam asking him to consider ex-gay therapy, citing the HIV/AIDS rate among African Americans.

LaBarbera also warned Sam that by coming out of the closet and “celebrating homosexuality as normative,” he will face “notoriety among millions of us.”

LaBarbera has previously urged Sam to seek ex-gay therapy and lamented that he was “forced” to watch Sam kiss his boyfriend on television.

Michael, do we have to tell you that, especially with your current publicity, you are a role model because of your athletic prowess, but since “coming out” you are also modeling a lifestyle that the cost for those living it, has been unpublicized but appalling—as it has for society. The troubling fact is minorities are suffering most and in growing numbers. The evidence:

• Black youth–your fans among them–ages 13-24 are twice as likely to get HIV/AIDS than those of other ethnic groups.
• 94-95 percent of all HIV cases in 2011 among boys and young men ages 13-24 were linked to homosexual sex, the CDC reports.
• Youth 13-24 incur 26 percent of new HIV/AIDS infections each year.
• An estimated 60 percent of 13-24 year-olds are unaware that they’re infected with HIV; such ignorance can be a death sentence.
• Black men having sex with men (MSM) accounted in 2010 for 39 percent of all HIV/AIDS diagnoses.

Secondary to the toll in pain and death among MSM is the drain on U.S. medical and financial resources; for example, anti-viral drugs, which can prolong MSM life about 20 years, cost over $24,000 per year. They do prolong life but must be taken scrupulously or the MSM becomes infectious. To treat an HIV/AIDS victim costs from $400,000 to $600,000 from infection to death. In total, the HIV/AIDS epidemic costs the country about $5 billion per year, says CDC Director Dr. Tom Freiden.

Believe it or not, no one is born “gay”; molestation, emotional deprivation, parental or peer rejection, or other traumatic factors can foster same-sex attraction–but many men and women have managed it, diminished it, or eliminated it altogether. [See these heartwarming ex-"gay" testimonies.] Many accomplished this through Reparative Therapy and counseling, despite the relentless, unwarranted condemnation of and campaign against both by self-serving “gay” activists.

What we hope for from you, Michael, is that you don’t make your feelings, well-publicized as they have been, your claim to fame. Your achievements on the football field will earn you a legacy you can be proud of; your “coming out” as one celebrating homosexuality as normative can earn you only regret, as well as notoriety among millions of us.

Southern Baptist Official Says Satan Is Behind Michael Sam Media Coverage

An article published on the Southern Baptist Convention’s website today asserts that Michael Sam is no Jackie Robinson and that it is Satan’s fault that people are comparing the two athletes.

Writing for the SBC’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, pastor David Prince dismisses claims that Sam faces prejudice for being gay since “much of the institutional and structural authority in America is committed to aiding the cultural momentum to normalize homosexuality in all aspects of American culture.”

“Robinson endured hatred and persecution because of his skin color whereas Sam’s homosexuality is a self-identification,” Prince writes. “Satan is pleased with the narrative that Michael Sam is the new Jackie Robinson.”

Jackie Robinson and Michael Sam share the same skin color and are both athletes whose entrance in professional sports caused a stir in the media. And that is where the similarities end.

Robinson was an unquestionable talent who was named rookie of the year in his first major league baseball season. The only thing that had kept him out of the major leagues was his skin color and institutional racism. Sam’s future in the NFL will be decided by whether he is talented enough and not an off-field distraction. Robinson endured hatred and persecution because of his skin color whereas Sam’s homosexuality is a self-identification.

The Spirit of Christ met the challenge of Jim Crow with a call to faith and repentance, and we must meet the challenge of the sexual liberationist movement with that same call. Satan is pleased with the narrative that Michael Sam is the new Jackie Robinson because it is his same old temptation to look at the world without the cross of Christ (Matt. 4:1-11). But the evil one would be equally pleased for Christians to look at the world without the cross of Christ from the opposing direction by declaring war on Sam as a two-dimensional enemy in an abstract culture war as if his failure would be our victory.

That’s not all. Dwight McKissic, a Southern Baptist pastor with a history of anti-gay remarks, wants to pass a resolution at the upcoming SBC annual meeting condemning President Obama and the media for their positive treatment of Sam.

Whereas Jesus warned His disciples concerning the dangers of adversely impacting the lives of children (Matthew 18:6),

Be it resolved that we believe that it is inappropriate for children to be subjected to having to watch same-sex couples engage in public displays of affection while watching a sports-related event on allegedly family-friendly channels. We discourage any further televising of such events. While there is a missing airplane somewhere in the Far East, over 200 kidnapped girls from Nigeria, and high unemployment in America, we respectfully request the President of the United States to refrain from congratulating and extending well wishes to any future homosexual professional sports players, unless simultaneously he is going to make celebratory and well wishes calls to the likes of Tim Tebow, Prince Amukamara—the “Black Tim Tebow,” and AC Green, professional athletes committed to sexual purity.

Be it resolved that the Southern Baptist Convention views it as an unfit analogy that the St. Louis Rams—having recently drafted the first openly homosexual player and the Los Angeles Rams in 1946, having signed the first African American to an NFL contract in the modern era, is indicative of social progress or advancement. To compare the advent of a same-sex attraction player, to an African American player is to compare one man’s skin—to another man’s sin. The Southern Baptist Convention completely, absolutely, and unequivocally rejects the comparison. One’s racial identity is a by-product of biology. One’s sexual identity is a by-product of one’s preference or choice. Therefore, it is intellectually dishonest to compare skin color, with same-sex relational desires. It is also offensive and racist.
