CADC Needs $30,000 To Spread 'Incriminating Evidence' Against Judge In Scott Lively Case

Today, Gary Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission sent out a rather odd end-of-the-year fundraising plea, using the lawsuit against Scott Lively as the hook to ask for $30,000 for his own organization.

Paranoia-Rama: This Week In Right-Wing Lunacy - 11/22/13

RWW's Paranoia-Rama takes a look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories from the Right.

Next time you turn on “The Walking Dead,” be warned that it may actually be part of a government plot to condition Americans to accept mass killings. That is, if Obama doesn’t get away with his plan to nuke America first!

Check out what we learned from some of the “brightest” minds of the far-right this week:

5. Next Stop: Military Coup

Even though the National Review once demanded the Senate change its rules on the filibustering of judicial nominees, one columnist for the conservative journal, Charles W. Cooke, told Fox News host Gretchen Carlson yesterday that Obama is setting the stage to undermine the democratic system of government: “You could just ignore the House. You could have a military coup; you could have anything at the end of this.” And all this time we thought conservatives would be delighted at the thought of a military coup.

4. Gay People Behind Homophobic Violence

Pastor Scott Lively helped come up with Russia’s new law that stifles free speech perceived to be “homosexual propaganda,” and he relies on some incredible logic when trying to explain how the country’s crackdown on the gay community and the increase in gay hate crimes has nothing to do with its anti-gay laws.

See, according to Lively, the Nazis were all gay. Therefore, neo-Nazis in Russia who are beating up gay people must be gay, too! Lively didn’t offer any evidence to back up his claims that Russia is only experiencing “gay-on-gay crime.” “The guys that are beating up gays in Russia,” Lively insisted, “are butch homosexuals.”

3. Immigration Reform A Muslim Brotherhood Plot

It turns out the allegation that Obama has secret plan to bring 50-100 million Muslim immigrants was shockingly not true. Apparently, Obama actually wants to open the borders to 150 million Muslims. The American Family Association’s Sandy Rios even thinks that the whole push for immigration reform is being engineered by the Muslim Brotherhood “to bring in tons of illegal immigrant Muslims who don’t wish us any kind of good.”

2. Government Using Zombie Culture To Prepare For Mass Executions

Are TV shows like “The Walking Dead” helping the government prepare “the public for mass executions of people”? Conservative talk show host Rick Wiles is just asking the question! During an interview with a spokesman for the Zombie Response Team, Wiles wondered if the popularity of zombie culture is really just a big government plot to make people more comfortable for impending killings. “I’m trying to figure out: What are they up to? What are they preparing for?”

1. Obama Almost Nuked America

And he would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn’t for three meddling admirals. According to right-wing activists Erik Rush and Jim Garrow, Obama planned to kill 300 million people by setting off nuclear bombs across the US in order to help George Soros make more money.

While Obama’s dastardly plan was stopped in the nick of time by “three absolute heroes,” Garrow believes Obama will blackmail his way into an unconstitutional third term and maybe then he will nuke America for real.

Lively: Gay People Behind Anti-Gay Violence In Russia

While Russia is experiencing an increase in violence directed at gay people and enacting new laws criminalizing pro-gay speech, US Religious Right activists Scott Lively and Linda Harvey are simply denying the prevalence of anti-gay violence. In fact, Lively is blaming other gay people for the uptick in hates crimes.

On her Saturday “Mission America” radio show, Harvey said that anti-gay violence in Russia has nothing to do with the country’s anti-gay laws, while Lively explained that actually the only violence occurring is “gay-on-gay crime.”

“Russia does have nationalists, these are Nazis, the same as I wrote in the book ‘The Pink Swastika: Homosexuality and the Nazi Party,’ that’s the same thing,” Lively said. “The guys that are beating up gays in Russia—and it’s not any more prevalent than it ever has been really and it isn’t all that prevalent at all—but the ones that are doing it are butch homosexuals who are beating up effeminate homosexuals, the same thing that happened in Germany; this is gay-on-gay crime, at least that is what it appears to be.”

Lively believes that gay people controlled Nazi Germany and launched the Holocaust in order to take revenge on Jews for viewing homosexuality as a sin.

Much like in “The Pink Swastika,” Lively offers no credible evidence to back up his claims that gays in Russia are facing violence from other gay people…other than his belief that anyone who is a Nazi must be gay.

Lively also said that he met with Russian Orthodox Church’s leadership to “pitch the idea of the Russians adopting the rainbow as a Russian symbol, a Christian symbol, reclaiming the rainbow and to do the Russian Olympics under the banner of the rainbow that says ‘the rainbow belongs to God.’”

“It looks like they are going to do that,” Lively continued. “Get all the pro-family organizations to come along to declare 2014 ‘The Year of God’s Rainbow’ and all of us adopt it—I’m wearing a pin right now that says ‘Reclaim The Rainbow: Ezekiel 1:28’—I think all of us should just start taking the rainbow, putting it on our webpages, wearing it and just take it away from them, it doesn’t belong to them.”

“Fabulous, fabulous, neither does the word gay,” Harvey added.

Lively said that while the “United States is becoming a gay Soviet Union” and “collapsing into totalitarianism with a heavy gay emphasis,” Russia is emerging as a great Christian country thanks to their laws suppressing gay rights.

“I’m taking some credit for this,” he said while describing his record of anti-gay activism in Russia.

Paranoia-Rama: This Week In Right-Wing Lunacy - 11/8/13

RWW's Paranoia-Rama takes a look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories from the Right.

This week, we learn more about President Obama’s secret gay past and Michelle Obama’s poor spiritual housekeeping, find out the real reason for Terry McAuliffe’s victory in Virginia, and are duly warned about the consequences of health care coverage and U.N. treaties.

5. Obamacare Will Force People to “Suffer and Potentially Die”

Texas Rep. Louis Gohmert, one of Congress’ most creative conspiracy theorists, told the residents of a nursing home in Texas this week that the Affordable Care Act would cut Medicare benefits, causing people to “suffer and potentially die.”

Gohmert’s claim that the ACA “cut $716 billion from Medicare,” repeated frequently by Mitt Romney in his presidential campaign last year, glosses over the fact that the cuts in costs – also recommended by Rep. Paul Ryan – would not affect Medicare benefits.

4. The United Nations Will Snatch Homeschoolers and Kids With Glasses

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee revived consideration of the United Nations Conventions on Persons With Disabilities this week, a year after a right-wing scare campaign managed to prevent the Senate from ratifying the treaty.

Taking the lead in the effort to sink the treaty was Michael Farris, director of the Home School Legal Defense Association, who claimed that U.S. ratification of the treaty would allow the U.N. to “get control” of children with glasses or ADHD and even lead to the deaths of children with disabilities. Invited to testify at this week’s hearing, Farris tried to convince senators that ratifying the treaty – which is based on laws already in place in the United States – would in fact lead to an American ban homeschooling. His only evidence for this fear was a completely unrelated immigration case .

The many right-wing conspiracy theories about the CRPD have been handily debunked by the U.S. International Council on Disabilities, as well as by former Republican senators Bill Frist and Bob Dole.

3. Michelle Obama Invited Demons Into The White House

The American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer was shocked to learn that First Lady Michelle Obama hosted a White House event this to celebrate Diwali.

By celebrating the Hindu festival, Fischer warned, the first lady was inviting “demons into the White House,” necessitating a “spiritual cleanse” of the building after Obama leaves office.

Fischer neglected to mention that George W. and Laura Bush had hosted the very same event. He did, however, later in the week provide a helpful how-to on how to rid a home of demonic spirits in case it ever comes to that.

2. Voter Fraud Won the Election in Virginia

Virginia attorney general Ken Cuccinelli thinks that President Obama won reelection through organized voter fraud , so it’s no surprise that some of his supporters were ready to cry “voter fraud” when he lost the gubernatorial election on Tuesday to Democrat Terry McAuliffe.

A full week before election day, Virginia conservative commentator Dean Chambers laid out how he predicted McAuliffe would “steal” the election through voter fraud. Meanwhile, Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber spent Election Day tweeting about how Cuccinelli would need to win by 7 points “to get within the margin of Democrat fraud.” And after the results came in, the white nationalist site VDARE claimed that McAuliffe must have relied on “black voter fraud” because it was not “plausible” that African-Americans would “turn out for New York Irish American Pol running for Governor with the same enthusiasm that they voted for a Black for President.”

In 2008, Virginia officials prosecuted 39 cases of voter fraud out of 3.7 million votes cast, none of which involved voter impersonation, the alleged target of Virginia’s pending voter ID law.

1. Obama Procured Cocaine Through Older White, Male Lovers

We already knew that during his student days President Obama was married to his male Pakistani roommate, the union from which he still wears a secret gay Muslim wedding ring , but we learned today via anti-gay activist Scott Lively that the president’s secrets go much deeper.

Lively linked on his website to an interview between crackpot preacher James David Manning and a woman named Mia Marie Pope, who claims to have been a classmate of President Obama's back in Hawaii in the 1970s.

Pope recalled how the future president was “very much within sort of the gay community” and “was having sex with these older white guys” in order to procure “cocaine to be able to freebase.”

Right Wing Leftovers - 11/6/13

  • Hmm, perhaps the fact that he was trailing Sen. John Cornyn 51 to 18 in polling played a role in David Barton's decision not to launch a primary challenge.
  • Scott Lively is outraged that two lesbian students were voted "Queen and Queen" at a high school homecoming: "Frankly I shudder when I think about what is going to be happening with the kids who are now in kindergarten, when they get into high school after many years of this kind of propaganda."
  • Bryan Fischer says Ken Cuccinelli lost his bid for governor "because he didn't defend social conservativism."
  • "Coach" Dave Daubenmire can't help being the way that he is: he was just born that way.
  • Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, a former Minuteman leader, has announced his candidacy for governor in California.
  • Peter LaBarbera laments the fact that marriage equality will be coming to Illinois: "It's very sad to see the Land of Lincoln now on the verge of officially defying God with our marriage laws."
  • Finally, NOM needs to make up its mind as it praises Gov. Chris Christie for being "a strong supporter of marriage as the union of one man and one woman" when just over a week ago they blasted him, declaring they'd "never forgive his failure to lead on marriage when leadership was needed most."

Globalizing Homophobia, Part 1: How The American Right Came to Embrace Russia’s Anti-Gay Crackdown

This is the first post in a four-part series exploring how American right-wing groups have supported Russia’s recent spate of anti-gay laws and its crackdown on LGBT citizens.

This summer, as part of a larger effort to channel political dissatisfaction by scapegoating minorities, the Russian government escalated its crackdown on the rights of gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual citizens. President Vladimir Putin and his allies found support and guidance in their anti-gay efforts from a group eager for an opportunity to notch some victories in the battle against LGBT freedom and equality: the American right.

On June 11, the Russian Duma passed a law banning “propaganda” about homosexuality to minors, essentially a gag rule criminalizing any advocacy for LGBT equality. (Moscow had already instituted a 100-year ban on gay pride parades.) Weeks later, on July 3, Putin signed a bill banning the adoption of Russian children by same-sex couples abroad and by single people in countries that allow marriage equality. Shortly afterward, a member of the Duma proposed a law that would revoke gay people’s custody of their biological children. The bill’s sponsor said in an interview that children would be better off in orphanages than with a gay mother or father.

Throughout this process, Russian gay rights groups reported a surge in anti-gay hate crimes. Journalist Julia Ioffe has documented some individual stories.

Russia’s crackdown on LGBT people comes amidst a broad crackdown on the rights of minorities and political dissenters or, in the words of one lawmaker, a campaign “to defend the rights of the majority.” On the same day the Duma passed its ban on gay “propaganda,” it also approved a harsh anti-blasphemy law promising jail time for “offending religious feelings.” The blasphemy measure was meant to strenghthen the laws that led to the political prosecution of the feminist punk band Pussy Riot, whose members were sentenced to two years in a penal colony for a performance that was deemed to offend “religious sensibilities.”

Russia’s repression of LGBT people and the Pussy Riot case have provoked an international outcry, intensified by the  the country’s role as the host of next year’s winter Olympics.

But throughout all this, one group has cheered on Putin’s actions: the American Religious Right and its international allies.

Even as tensions have grown between Russia and the United States, several Religious Right leaders have spoken loudly in favor of Putin’s crackdowns on gay people and political dissenters:

  • Conservative commentator and former Republican presidential candidate Pat Buchanan praised Putin for “trying to re-establish the Orthodox Church as the moral compass of the nation” by going after gays and political dissent and suggested that the United States follow his lead.
  • The anti-feminist group Concerned Women for America hailed the Pussy Riot prosecution, saying that the band displayed an “utter lack of morality.”
  • Religious Right activist Bob Vander Plaats, whose Family Leader events in Iowa have become must-attends for Republican presidential candidates, praised Putin’s “decisive leadership” on anti-gay laws.
  • American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer declared that Russia’s gay “propaganda” ban was exactly the kind of “public policy that we’ve been advocating” and that, if anything, the ban didn’t go far enough.
  • Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality praised the propaganda law, writing, “Russians do not want to follow America’s reckless and decadent promotion of gender confusion, sexual perversion, and anti-biblical ideologies to youth.”
  • Scott Lively, an American activist linked to Uganda’s push for the death penalty for gays, wrote that under Putin’s leadership, Russia has become a “beacon of freedom” while the U.S. has descended into a “gay version of the Soviet Union.” Lively also gave himself credit for “indirectly” assisting the ban on “homosexual propaganda,” calling it “one of the proudest achievements of my career.”
  • Vision America’s Rick Scarborough suggested that God would rebuke President Obama over his condemnation of Russia’s anti-gay crackdown, saying that Obama’s criticism of the propaganda law “puts our country in a very precarious place.”
  • Radio host Linda Harvey, head of the group Mission: America, praised the gay “propaganda” ban, declaring that any “responsible adult” would support it.
  • Rush Limbaugh praised Putin for “putting [his] foot down” against gay peoples’ “full-frontal assault on what has always been considered normalcy.”
  • Austin Ruse of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-FAM) called the Russian law a “good thing” and claimed that “most of the people in the United States” would support a similar measure.
  • Larry Jacobs of the Illinois-based World Congress of Families hailed the propaganda law for “preventing [LGBT people] from corrupting children" and declared  that "the Russians might be the Christian saviors to the world."
  • Six American Religious Right groups, including the World Congress of FamiliesMission: America and C-FAM , joined an international coalition of right-wing groups in signing a statement supporting the anti-gay crackdown and condemning the international outrage against it.

American conservative groups haven’t just praised Russia’s crackdown on gays. Working through several channels, American anti-gay activists quietly provided intellectual backing and international support that directly and indirectly fueled the resurgent anti-gay movement in Russia and in other former Soviet states like Lithuania, Moldova and Ukraine.

In a series of posts today and tomorrow, we’ll look at how American activists influenced Russia’s anti-gay laws by funding anti-gay activism in Russia, testifying before the Duma, providing false research to fan the flames of anti-gay laws abroad, and building an international movement to back the harshest anti-gay laws around the world.

Right Wing Leftovers - 10/2/13

  • Scott Lively has announced his intention to run for governor in Massachusetts.
  • According to Terry Jeffrey, President Obama is now "prohibiting American Catholics from practicing their faith in the way they live their daily lives."
  • Rand Paul told a gathering of religious broadcasters that "there is a worldwide war on Christians."
  • October is Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender History Month and Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, says it "should be a serious wake-up call for anyone who still thinks gay history in schools is a good idea."
  • We can now add Rep. Steve Palazzo to the list of elected Republicans who have no qualms about appearing on Bryan Fischer's radio show.
  • Finally, speaking of Fischer, he says that President Obama believes that it is his mission to be the "agent of wrath" that will "punish this nation."

Right Wing Leftovers - 9/30/13

Lively: CCR Is 'A Truly Demonic Organization' Part Of 'The Global Socialist Agenda'

In an email republished by Peter LaBarbera, anti-gay activist Scott Lively called the Center for Constitutional Rights “a truly demonic organization.” The CCR is currently representing Sexual Minorities Uganda in its case against Lively, who asked for people to pray for “confusion” among the CCR’s “cultural Marxists” and “Marxist activists.”

“CCR is the ‘principality and power’ behind the SMUG lawsuit and many far-left causes, a truly demonic organization, operating from the heart of New York City at 666 Broadway,” Lively continued. “Pray for all of these Marxist activists to be saved and delivered from their sin and error in rejecting the truth of God. As they press forward to attack me, pray confusion into their camp and for all of their strategies and tactics to be turned against them.”

Far-right talk show host Janet Mefferd also pointed to the group’s address to suggest that the group has a demonic bent.

“This case is hugely important to the global socialist agenda and its most powerful players. It will take a miracle to stop them, so please pray hard,” Lively said.

Friends ,Today Federal Judge Michael Ponsor denied my motion to allow me to appeal his denial of my Motion to Dismiss the outrageous SMUG lawsuit. Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) has sued me for “Crimes Against Humanity” for preaching against homosexuality in Uganda. (But it is not the Africans that are at fault in this travesty, the real scoundrels are a coalition of Cultural Marxists led by the Center for Constitutional Rights.)

I am being judged according to a European legal standard in my own federal court system for speech that is 100% protected in both America and Uganda. The Alien Tort Statute (ATS) which allowed this abomination into our U.S. court system was recently stripped of its power to hold Americans accountable for their conduct in foreign countries by the United States Supreme Court in the Kiobel case. Since then every case which had been filed under the ATS has been dismissed except for two. One which had unusual facts was not dismissed but the judge in that case certified it for immediate appeal on his own initiative. The other is my case. Today, Judge Ponsor denied my motion to appeal the part of his recent ruling (against my Motion to Dismiss) that dealt with the ATS. I am thus the only defendant in America still being sued under the ATS.

This means we must now move down the long, unpleasant road toward trial. This email is to provide some guidance to my friends and supporters on how to pray. First, pray for God to guide Judge Ponsor as he makes future decisions in this case.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Ponsor Judge Ponsor is a Bill Clinton appointee, with a self-admitted activist philosophy. In a June 2, 2013 newspaper interview he said “At some point I realized that judges are the unappointed legislators of mankind.“ That is worrisome. (See this link.) Pray for him to be fair and objective, and not swayed by liberal ideology or the lies of my persecutors. Next pray that the Marxist activists that have conspired to bring this bogus litigation forward are thwarted. Leading this group is Luke Ryan, SMUG’s local Northampton-based attorney and ACLU associate who appears to be the chief culprit AND WHO WAS JUDGE PONSORS LAW CLERK FROM 2005 TO 2007. [www.strhlaw.com/attorneys/luke-ryan/] You will notice in his profile he admits to being active in Arise for Social Justice, the local ACORN affiliate which has organized all of the street activism against me for the past several years. And he was also active in the radical homosexual group OUT NOW of Springfield who have provided most of the bodies for the protests against me.

Pray especially for Holly Richardson of both Arise and OUT NOW, the self-described 44-year-old “butch” lesbian at the bottom right in the photo under the “Harm Reduction” category of the OUT NOW website. She has been especially aggressive against me and against our church. Lastly, pray for the George Soros-funded so-called “Center for Constitutional Rights.” CCR is the “principality and power” behind the SMUG lawsuit and many far-left causes, a truly demonic organization, operating from the heart of New York City at 666 Broadway (no joke; see this link).Pray for all of these Marxist activists to be saved and delivered from their sin and error in rejecting the truth of God. As they press forward to attack me, pray confusion into their camp and for all of their strategies and tactics to be turned against them.

Lastly, I ask you to pray for my attorneys at Liberty Counsel, especially lead counsel Horatio Mihet to be strengthened and given favor by God. And to pray for Anne and I as we are forced to endure this continuing persecution.

This case has enormous implications for First Amendment rights here at home and abroad, for the supremacy of our Constitution over foreign law, for Christian values under international law, and for the future power of homosexual activists to crush anyone who stands in the way of their global agenda.

I am just a pawn in this international power-play, the one they want to make an example of to discourage all the Christians from speaking the truth of God. This case is hugely important to the global socialist agenda and its most powerful players. It will take a miracle to stop them, so please pray hard.

Pray for my victory and an enlargement of the scope and impact of my work for His Kingdom, but more than that: that God will be glorified in whatever results from this case.

Lively: Russia's Anti-Gay Law Is 'One Of The Proudest Achievements Of My Career'

Scott Lively was the guest on Bryan Fischer's radio program yesterday, and while, unfortunately, they did not discuss Lively's theory that President Obama is the Antichrist, they did discuss their mutual admiration for Russia's anti-gay crackdown.

Lively told Fischer that while he did not play a direct role in drafting the legislation, he does believe that a tour he made through Russia a few years back where he urged the implementation of just these sorts of laws served as a catalyst for legislation.

"I indirectly assisted in that," Lively said, "and it's one of the proudest achievements of my career":

Lively: Gay Ugandans 'Dupes' Of Marxist Plot To 'Paint Me As A Demon'

After appearing on Rick Wiles’ radio show where he called President Obama the Antichrist, Scott Lively talked to Janet Mefferd on Friday about his view that “homosexuality is the moral issue of the End Times.” He maintains that “everyone is being tested with this issue” because homosexuality represents “the extreme example of rebellion on the verge of judgment.”

Lively is currently facing a lawsuit from Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG), which is represented by the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), over his role in inciting anti-LGBT persecution and legislation in Uganda. He told Mefferd that SMUG are only “a handful of Ugandan homosexuals and are really just dupes” of the “radical” and “[George] Soros-funded” CCR.

“They are very powerful, they are heavily funded, absolutely dedicated, these are ideologues,” Lively said of the CCR, “these are the hard-left, Marxist ideologues and I am their primary—I am the most visible symbol of opposition to the gay agenda right now in the United States.”

Lively, who just days before the interview claimed that gay rights advocates are on “the Devil’s side,” criticized the CCR for trying to “paint me as a demon.”

Right Wing Leftovers - 9/18/13

  • NBC profiles Scott Lively and his role in passing anti-gay laws all over the world.
  • Pentagon officials recently met with Jerry Boykin, Sandy Rios, and other Religious Right activist to discuss supposed violations of the religious liberty of Christians in the military.
  • Speaking of Boykin, he seems to think that the Southern Poverty Law Center should be charged with a hate crime for supposedly inspiring Floyd Corkins to attack the Family Research Council.
  • Rick Perry will be heading to New Jersey to campaign with Steve Lonegan.
  • Finally, is anyone surprise that Glenn Beck is endorsing this crackpot effort to "shut down Washington, DC" for three days.

Lively: Obama Is The Antichrist, Working With Satanic Gays To Bring About The Apocalypse

Scott Lively, the pastor behind anti-gay laws from Uganda to Russia, appeared on TruNews yesterday to reveal to host Rick Wiles the identity of the Antichrist: President Obama. While he refused to mention Obama by name, he said that the Antichrist is the person “heading the largest superpower of the world today.” Lively explained that the Antichrist (read: Obama) will cancel all of the world’s debts in 2015, end the Mideast conflict with a peace treaty between the Israelis and Palestinians and introduce a one-world economic system and secular humanist religion.

Lively: Regional war breaks out and at the same time, because of that, the global economy collapses, crashes. That begins the serious pain for the entire world that the globalists actually want to prepare them for the global, one-world system. They already have the economic system to bring in; just nobody is ready to accept it. So at the right time, after there’s been enough pain, what happens is the Antichrist—I won’t name any names here but he is heading the largest superpower of the world today—steps in at the right time and does three things. He declares a global jubilee in which all the debts of the world are eliminated, this is after there’s been massive numbers of people who have died—

Wiles: Scott, I told people, I told our audience years ago, I’m going to say 2008, I said on this program this global financial crisis will be so bad that at some point in the future a world leader will say the only solution is biblical, we will have to cancel all the debts and we are going to have a global jubilee.

Lively: Amen. And we just happen to have one coming up, September 23, 2015.

Wiles: And the politician who does it is going to be hailed as the greatest man on the planet.

Lively: The hero of the world, right? This is the guy that also is going to be able to do what no one else in the history of the Middle East conflict could do. He’s going to have brought a peace treaty between the Palestinians and the Israelis; the Palestinians get their two-state solution and the Israelis get the permission to build on the Temple Mount. And who is the hero? It’s the guy that I’m not going to mention his name.

Wiles: And a lot of Christians when they see the Temple going up are going to hyperventilate, thinking this is a great thing and they have no idea that Antichrist is coming.

Lively: Only because it’s a symbol of what’s coming. Here’s the one other part that’s been missing, you’ve alluded to it and we’re very close on this that at the same time he introduces the new global system but here’s the other missing component. What’s the religion of the Antichrist? The religion of the Antichrist is secular humanism.

As Lively explained, the imminent apocalypse is the result of homosexuality, which he said is “at the heart of the Antichrist kingdom” (along with Islam). He repeated his claim that homosexuality caused Noah’s Flood and the destruction of Sodom, arguing that gay rights is the issue that “portends the End Times” and is backed by the Devil.

What is the issue that God is using to divide the sheep and the goats right now? It’s not whether Jesus Christ is Lord. It’s where do you stand on homosexuality? You know why? He gave us the warnings about that. From Genesis to Revelation, he has given us the advance notice that this issue portends the End Times and that when you see these things happen you’ll know that is the context that you are in. That’s the issue that is dividing the church right down the middle, of all the issue that God could’ve chosen. And the people who are going to the world’s side and the Devil’s side on that question are completely blind to its importance as a biblical topic; they think it is unimportant, that God doesn’t care about that when He gave us the only sin associated with the destruction of cities with fire and brimstone, the only sin associated with a reprobate mind in Romans 1, the thing that the rabbis said was the last straw before God brought the Flood, the issue that seems to be the heart of the Antichrist kingdom in Revelation 11 when it says that the two witnesses are struck down in the city that is mystically called Sodom and Egypt: homosexuality and Islam.

Lively argued that only Vladimir Putin is the world’s last hope, and called for other nations to follow in his footsteps in implementing stringently anti-gay laws.

We don’t want to gloss over the problems that we have with Mr. Putin but by the same token he’s the only world leader capable of standing up to the West and he is championing the traditional marriage and Christian values regarding the central moral issue of our time that no one else has the capability to do what he’s doing. Really there’s a chance here for him to inspire all the morally conservative countries of the law to adopt a similar law that he just adopted, his country just adopted and really have a chance maybe to roll some of this terrible agenda back.

Lively: Russia A 'Beacon Of Freedom' While US Is A 'Gay Version Of The Soviet Union'

Scott Lively believes Vladimir Putin’s attempt to stop Russia’s “homosexualization” is comparable to the fight against Nazis and the pastor has promised Putin the first copy of a Russian-translation of his book The Pink Swastika, which blames gays for the Holocaust.

“And while the “Land of the Free” and its Mother Country (which once promised that ‘Britons never, ever, ever shall be slaves’) embrace police-state tactics against Bible-believing Christians, the former Communist slave state is becoming a beacon of freedom to those who love God‘s design for the family,” Lively writes, warning that the gay rights “Fascist Leviathan” threatens “the future of mankind.”

He warns that as the same time “the United States and the United Kingdom morph slowly into a ‘gay’ version of the Soviet Union,” Russia has “become the defender of Christian civilization against the Cultural-Marxist American Eagle and British Lion.”

As the United States and the United Kingdom morph slowly into a “gay” version of the Soviet Union, an unlikely hero of family values has emerged: Russian President Vladimir Putin. In a stunning reversal of roles, the Russian Bear has become the defender of Christian civilization against the Cultural-Marxist American Eagle and British Lion.

While America and Britain compete to see how fast they can turn their children into Sodomites, Russia has banned homosexual propaganda to youth. While the “mainstream” American and British press publish only pro-”gay” puffery and propaganda, Russia’s Pravda has become a counter-balance to their lies. While the US and UK public schools have erected an iron curtain to prevent students from encountering any pro-family arguments or advocates, the Russian schools are preparing their boys and girls for healthy, normal marriage. And while the “Land of the Free” and its Mother Country (which once promised that “Britons never, ever, ever shall be slaves“) embrace police-state tactics against Bible-believing Christians, the former Communist slave state is becoming a beacon of freedom to those who love God‘s design for the family.

Today I have mailed my Open Letter to President Vladimir Putin, praising him, and the Russian government for standing up for the family (see http://www.scottlively.net/). I have also sent him a copy of my book, The Pink Swastika: Homosexuality in the Nazi Party, co-authored by Jewish researcher Kevin E. Abrams, which will soon be published in Russian. We have promised President Putin the first copy of that book in his own language.

I will close this letter with the same words I wrote to him, invoking the battle we waged together against Nazism:

“Once again, thank you, President Putin, for standing firm in defense of the natural family, which is the essential foundation of all human civilization. Perhaps through the inspiration of your leadership, an alliance of the good people of our countries with those of your own, can once again in some cooperative fashion, redeem the future of mankind from a Fascist Leviathan, just as we did in World War II.”

Fischer & Mihet: Those Who Oppose ENDA Will Be Charged With Crimes Against Humanity

Last week, a judge refused to dismiss the lawsuit against Scott Lively stemming from his anti-gay advocacy in Uganda.  Today, his lawyer, Harry Mihet of Liberty Counsel, appeared on Bryan Fischer's radio program to discuss the lawsuit, where the two of them speculated that if it succeeds, then anyone who would dare to testify against or oppose a law like the Employment Nondiscrimination Act could be prosecuted for committing crimes against humanity.

"If that is allowed to succeed in the Scott Lively case," Mihet said, "then the very next and logical step would be to take anyone that would oppose legislation in ENDA in the US and to have the charged with international human rights violations, the most heinous of crimes, crimes against humanity, or persecution for doing nothing more than exercising their rights to speak their minds on an issue of public importance in the public square.  At some point, we have to ask ourselves are we still a free country, governed by a constitution with a First Amendment or are we entering an era of fascism when it comes to this issue":

Focus on the Family Spokesman Distances Himself from Dobson While Mefferd Is Curious About Pro-Gay Group's '666' Address

Focus on the Family spokesman Glenn Stanton, who called same-sex unions satanic, ironically told virulently anti-gay talk show host Janet Mefferd in an interview yesterday that the Religious Right should move away from the polarizing rhetoric of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and James Dobson, the founder of Focus. While discussing a study pointing to greater acceptance of gay rights among evangelicals, Stanton said that people are moving away from the tactics and style of leaders like “Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, you know even speaking here from Focus, Dr. Dobson.”

Stanton said that activists who aren’t “fire breathing” conservatives are having a stronger appeal, such as the late Chuck Colson: “People aren’t reacting against that, they are reacting against certain manifestations of the culture war and in some sense we can say you know what some of those things were fine for the 70s but we are in a new age and we need to address these issues in truth and in a very different kind of way. I think Chuck Colson, who we don’t have anymore, was a wonderful example of that kind of thing.

That’s right, Stanton thinks that the Religious Right leader who said gay marriageinvites terrorist attacks, gravely damages children, leads to the end of democracy and a Nazi-style dictatorship and unleashes “cultural Armageddon,” and longed for the day when homosexuality was condemned as “sexually deviant” and “ shameful and embarrassing” is a figure of moderation.

Just in case you thought that anti-gay activists were toning down their rhetoric in any way, prior to the interview Mefferd discussed the lawsuit against Scott Lively over his role in Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill. She “found it interesting” that the Center for Constitutional Rights, a pro-gay group representing Sexual Minorities Uganda in the case, is located at 666 Broadway, New York, and wondered if the organization “sought out the address.” “Not that that means anything, just interesting.”

Right Wing Leftovers - 8/2/13

  • Apparently the "ex-gay" rally earlier this week was a "great day for former homosexuals in America," despite the fact that nobody showed up.
  • It looks like Tom McClusky has left the Family Research Council.
  • Is Rep. Trey Gowdy is auditioning to be the craziest Republican member of Congress?
  • According to Jeffrey Kuhner, the fact that President Obama acknowledged the historical fact that Ho Chi Minh was inspired by Thomas Jefferson insulted "the memory of the nearly 60,000 Americans who died in Vietnam" by somehow "granting legitimacy to Vietnam’s odious regime."
  • It seems that if you are against abortion but also an atheist, anti-choice groups will refuse to work with you.
  • Finally, Scott Lively is mad at the Pope for using the phrase "a gay person," instead of "a person who struggles with homosexual temptation" because the former phrase is "a major concession to sexual-orientation theory when used by a church leader about Christians."

Lively: Following Boy Scout Victory, Gay Activists Will Launch a 'Blitzkrieg Against the Church'

On his radio program yesterday, Bryan Fischer brought on Scott Lively to bolster his assertions that scouting has always been used as a "major homosexual recruiting effort" going all the way back to Nazi Germany.

After ten minutes of pseudo-historical nonsense about how the German Wandervogel was designed to "revive the Greek ideal of pedagogic pederasty" and now the Boy Scouts had fallen to the same agenda, Lively declared that the Scouts had represented "the last secular resistance to homosexuality in our culture," which means that, within the next year, there is going to be "a blitzkrieg against the Church like we've never seen before" which will seek to wipe out the last remaining opposition to the gay agenda:

Scott Lively Links Gay Man's Death from Meningitis to Divine Judgment

On a post on the Defend the Family website, Pastor Scott Lively suggests that bacterial meningitis cases among gay men in New York and Los Angeles, where one gay man who contracted meningitis has died, is divine judgment.

While meningitis is not a “gay disease,” Lively links to a WorldNetDaily article which writes that the meningitis cases prove that “‘gay’ sex is becoming even more dangerous.”
