Newman: Obamacare Turning US Into A Police State

Troy Newman of the militant anti-choice group Operation Rescue is pledging to never purchase a health insurance plan, and he doesn’t care if President Obama and his “health-care cops” throw him in jail! Even though the health care law explicitly says that people who neglect to pay the penalty for not purchasing insurance will not face jail time, the imaginary threat of going to jail makes Newman feel heroic and that’s what really matters.

“Today I’ve become an outlaw, a dissenter, an enemy of the state,” the anti-abortion rights activist writes in WorldNetDaily. “Left unchecked, this new health-care law is fully capable of leading the United States into becoming a police state.”

Newman warns that “they may lock me up” even as other people are “seduced into surrendering first their rights and then their lives, all under the offer of some so-called protection.”

He also promotes the widely discredited myth that Obamacare compels people to pay for abortion: “I have spent the last two decades fighting to stop abortion, and I will be damned if I’m going to give them any money now.”

Today I’ve become an outlaw, a dissenter, an enemy of the state. Without my consent, the U.S. Congress passed a law that forces my conscience and conviction into an inescapable corner. I do not want to be in this position. I did not ask for it. I have not even taken a single action that would put me on the wrong side of the law – yet, somehow, here I am suddenly “breaking” it.

Left unchecked, this new health-care law is fully capable of leading the United States into becoming a police state. That may sound crazy to some – like I should be wearing a tinfoil hat or something – but I’m a student of history, and it doesn’t take long to see the scope of past civilizations that have been seduced into surrendering first their rights and then their lives, all under the offer of some so-called protection.

I’ve read the health-care law; it isn’t going to protect, save, or help any of us. What it is going to do, however, is strip away our rights and directly fund abortion. I have consulted with several experts and law firms on the imbedded abortion funding in the new health-care law, and I can say with certainty: Obamacare forces us to pay for abortion.

So, let me be very clear: I may be the very person Congress is claiming to help, but I don’t want or need their assistance regarding my family’s health. I am a free citizen who pays my medical bills as they come. Furthermore, I am absolutely morally opposed to funding baby killers. In fact, I have spent the last two decades fighting to stop abortion, and I will be damned if I’m going to give them any money now.

This is not the case of a rebel searching for a cause. This cause found me when Congress decided our constitutional rights and our preborn children were expendable. I wasn’t a criminal yesterday, or for the past 18 years, but somehow today I find myself on the other side of the law. So be it. I’ve seen all the chest thumping coming from Washington, and I’ve heard all about “red lines” and “no negotiations,” but I’m just a simple man with a simple plan.

I’m not buying a health-care policy that will fund abortion, and I’m certainly not paying any penalty for freely choosing to do so. At some point, they may lock me up. Before that, I’ll probably get some threatening letters and a few visits from the health-care cops. At the end of the day, however, my answer will be the same:

I trust in the Lord and I comply with all just laws, but I will not comply with any unlawful mandate to participate in the killing of innocent children.

Troy Newman Threatens Civil Disobedience To Counter Obama's 'Totalitarian State'

Troy Newman of Operation Rescue is obviously not a fan of the decision to name Planned Parenthood affiliates in Iowa, Montana and New Hampshire as “navigators” that will aid people purchasing health insurance plans through new exchanges. In a LifeSiteNews story which suggested “Planned Parenthood employees could abuse” tax information in order “to harass their ideological enemies,” Newman floated “civil disobedience” as possibly “the only solution for an increasingly totalitarian state.”

The anti-choice outlet also quoted Rep. Diane Black (R-TN), who said that the navigators grant would help Planned Parenthood “continue its misuse of taxpayer dollars to [supplement] their big abortion business” and repeated the false claim that the IRS deliberately leaked the National Organization for Marriage’s tax information.

Planned Parenthood employees will soon have access to a vast federal database of sensitive information, including the Social Security number, tax form, bank account, and medical records of every single American citizen as the president seeks their help in implementing ObamaCare.

Consumers purchasing health insurance through health care exchanges will speak to “navigators,” whose job is to help them find the best coverage and determine if they are eligible for a federal subsidy.

Others are concerned Planned Parenthood employees could abuse their access to sensitive information to harass their ideological enemies. The National Organization for Marriage saw its tax forms leaked to a gay rights organization and later printed on The Huffington Post by a full-fledged IRS employee.

“We may have come to the point where civil disobedience might be the only solution for an increasingly totalitarian state,” Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, told LifeSiteNews.com. “I'm resolved to not comply with the invasion of privacy and taxation without representation.”

“The navigator grants would further enable Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in America, to continue its misuse of taxpayer dollars to [supplement] their big abortion business,” Congresswoman Diane Black, R-TN, said.

Troy Newman: Abortion Rights Responsible for NSA Spying

Did you realize that the decriminalization of abortion is responsible for the creation of the NSA surveillance program? According to Troy Newman of Operation Rescue, because “killing children in the womb is a constitutional right,” there are now “no civil rights in this country” and “everything else can be stripped away from us.”

Newman told LifeSiteNews this weekend that he hopes that President Obama will be impeached over the program and that “the people who are monitoring my conversations will be impacted and turned to life.”

The American Life League’s Jim Sedlak had a similar take, arguing that the NSA program might be targeting groups like his that oppose Planned Parenthood.

Newman linked the administration’s disregard for the most vulnerable human life with its apparent disregard for privacy rights, saying, “If killing children in the womb is a constitutional right, then we have no civil rights in this country. Everything else can be stripped away from us. So, this ought not surprise anyone.”

But just because Newman is not surprised by the government’s spying does not mean he doesn’t want to see the people responsible punished.

Asked what he thinks is the proper response to the news of the NSA’s intelligence gathering efforts centered on ordinary Americans, Newman said, “I think Obama should be impeached.” “I think half of Congress should be thrown out,” he said. “We should fire everybody in the NSA, the heads of the FBI, the CIA, and force everybody to take a basic course on constitutional liberties.”

He admitted such an outcome was unlikely but nonetheless warranted.

Jim Sedlak of American Life League compared the NSA’s tactics to those used in dictatorships and communist countries. He told LifeSiteNews.com that such practices have no place in a free nation.

“We’ve been concerned the the [sic] government would try to regulate speech,” Sedlak said, “and that’s what listening in does, is it tries to put a fear in so that people will be hesitant to say what they really believe.”

“There’s no place for this in the United States of America,” he said. “ They do this in other countries, you know; if you’re in a Middle East country and speaking in the backyard to your neighbor and you say something against the government, you wind up in jail.”

Sedlak said that because his group is on Planned Parenthood’s list of top 15 “anti-choice” organizations, and because President Obama is very closely tied to the abortion giant, he wouldn’t be surprised if they were targeted by the administration for monitoring. But he said the threat of retribution wouldn’t stop him or his group from speaking up for unborn babies.

“What we’re going to do is, we going to do our work,” Sedlak told LifeSiteNews. “We’re going to speak out when we need to speak out, we’re going to write what we need to write in order to get our work done, and trust that if we do the right thing and we do it for the right purpose, which is God’s purpose, God will take care of us.”

He vowed, “We will not be intimidated.”

Newman went one step further, saying that he hopes the government not only listens to but thinks about the words he is saying. “I’m not going to do anything differently,” he said. “I hope that the people who are monitoring my conversations will be impacted and turned to life.”

Troy Newman Compares Planned Parenthood Fight to World War II, Underground Railroad

Operation Rescue head Troy Newman appeared on The Janet Mefferd Show yesterday to discuss the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and new tactics to recriminalize abortion and fight Planned Parenthood, making sure not to mention the growing support for Roe. Newman said that Operation Rescue and other anti-choice groups must act like the allied bombers who destroyed Nazi arms factories during World War II.

Newman: I’ll give you a little analogy; in 1943 the allied forces sent 1,500 bombers into Germany to destroy the ball-bearing factories and the aviation factories because they knew without ball-bearings they couldn’t produce armaments and methods to destroy the allied forces. So I want to diminish the enemy’s ability to make war on children and I’ve got several plans we’ll be talking about but that that’s the idea. They are going to be well-funded, they are going to be governed by the most radical pro-abortion president ever and the Supreme Court but we’re going to be going after their ability to make war on children.

He also compared the Operation Rescue demonstrations, which have been linked to violence, to abolitionists working in the Underground Railroad and called on activists to channel Gideon, whose 300-man army destroyed the Midianites in the Book of Judges. “I think I told you on a previous radio show, I got tired of going to jail,” Newmain said, “it’s the abortionists that need to go to jail.”

Newman: We peacefully came and laid down our lives and they asked us to leave, ‘Get out that door, go away, get off this property,’ we’d say, ‘I’m sorry I cannot in good conscience get up because if I do the abortionist will come in and he will kill children. So they beat us up and they threw us in jail and they sued us into oblivion and then they passed a federal law to make it a federal crime, a lot like the Fugitive Slave Act. If you were running the Underground Railroad you could face federal time for harboring slaves.

Mefferd: And the RICO lawsuit, the racketeering, it was supposed to be a law used to go after the mob and they started using it against pro-lifers. How much did the lawsuit filing by NARAL and NOW and all these groups, how much damage did that do to Operation Rescue and other big pro-life organizations in terms of the strategies you employed?

Newman: For us rescue was going away anyway because of the massive amounts of jail time. I think I told you on a previous radio show, I got tired of going to jail; it’s the abortionists that need to go to jail. So we were changing our tactics anyway. I think what it did to the rest of the pro-life movement is it made them more fearful of the government and what they could possibly do to them then what happened in actuality. At the end of the day, I’m still standing, I’m still rescuing, I’m still more resolved to end this child-killing than I was back then so they just made me a better pro-lifer.

Mefferd: That’s great. We need about 100 million of you, Troy.

Newman: I’d settle for about—Gideon, 300 courageous men in America that will stand up against Planned Parenthood and we will win the day.

Troy Newman Compares Supreme Court Decision on Health Care to 9/11, Nazi Germany

Operation Rescue president Troy Newman reiterated his pledge not to comply with the health care reform law while speaking with Janet Mefferd on Friday, telling Mefferd that like the leaders of the American Revolution who protested British taxation he will not “chip into this ungodly health care system.” While speaking about the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act, Newman said people “experienced this day like we did 9/11” and must now think about how people might have acted under Nazi Germany, warning that “we are all moving down the road toward complete annihilation”:

As an employer, we’re going to be forced to chip into this ungodly health care system and we are not going to pay. I am going on the record; we will not send the federal government a dime. Now, if they send the IRS on us then it’s not a health care issue then it’s simply a failure to pay our tax, as John Roberts said, this is now a tax. Well, what did we have a revolution for: taxation without representation. We went to war and real Christians picked up real guns and defeated a real army. I’m not calling for an insurrection or to take up guns but I’m saying that they thought it was so serious that they pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to have a land that we live in, which is three greatest experiment in human liberty based on Christian principles the world has ever known, and all of that is at stake.

You know we always get surprised at what happened in Nazi Germany and we say, ‘if I had been there I wouldn’t do that,’ or we think back and think, ‘that was sixty or seventy years ago, how could that have happened, that was all in the past, all that draconian, totalitarian, socialist actions were in the past.’ Here we have a decision, a landmark ruling which will go down in history and every single person listening to this radio program was alive and experienced this day like we did 9/11. The question is, what will our response be?

The courts are not the answer. There’s checks and balances in this country and there is no check and there is no balance. We are all moving down the road toward complete annihilation. Some people want to go at 100 MPH and some people want to go at 30 or 40 or 50 MPH, but I think this is a wakeup call. The entire Supreme Court should be impeached, the entire Congress should be impeached, we should replace the president in November.

Religious Right Groups to 'Encircle' Supreme Court, 'Praying that Obamacare is Declared Unconstitutional'

The Christian Defense Coalition, Faith and Action and Pro-Life Nation, which is a division of Operation Rescue and led by Troy Newman, is planning to “encircle” the Supreme Court in order to pray that the justices rule the health care reform law unconstitutional. The prayer rally, dubbed “Justice at the Court,” is set to be held on March 25, the day before oral arguments in the health care case begin.

Supreme Court officials expect the Obamacare case to be the biggest one at the Court since Bush v. Gore in 2000.

If the President's health care legislation is declared unconstitutional, it would end taxpayer subsidized abortions and unjust and immoral mandates forcing religious institutions to cover abortion-inducing drugs and sterilization in their health coverage for employees.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition and one of the organizers of "Justice at the Court", states;

"We are calling people from all America to come to Supreme Court and 'encircle it with prayer' from March 25-28 as we cry out to God for justice, human rights and religious freedom.

"Sadly, the President's Health Care legislation crushes religious freedom and liberty with unjust mandates on faith institutions and forces taxpayers to pay for abortions.

"We will be praying that Obamacare is declared unconstitutional so Congress can put forward health care legislation that will respect religious freedom, protect human life and honor the principles of our Constitution.

"When Roe v. Wade was decided, the Christian community was detached and uninvolved. We want to make sure that is not the case this time as we challenge people of faith to publicly pray and speak out with boldness and passion."
