Gheen: Immigrants 'May Smile At You As They Hand You Your Cheeseburger' But They Really Want 'You And Your Whole Family To Die'

In an interview with the Tea Party News Network on Saturday, William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) claimed that Mexican American immigrants “may smile at you as they serve you your cheeseburger or cruise across your lawn with a weed eater” but in reality they want “for you and your whole family to die.”

Gheen claimed that Mexican schools teach students to hate America, so those who immigrate to the U.S. show “no type of mercy” to “anyone out there that’s not a flaming socialist, communist or liberal” and will vote Democratic, based on “racial identity” and “what they consider to be reparations.”

There’s no type of mercy that anyone out there that’s not a flaming socialist, communist or liberal is going to receive from these people. You’re not going to be able to just stand up and say, ‘Please, please spare us from this invasion.’

They’re like, look, they’re bringing in, they’re using in drug cartels to bring in a new block of 80, 90 percent Democratic voters. And there will be no way the Tea Party or any other grassroots organization is ever going to be able to succeed against 20 million that are voting on racial identity and that will vote for more benefits and what they consider to be reparations. Some of them hate us for their perceived status in life. They’re taught in Mexican schools that the reason they’re so poor is because their evil neighbor to the north stole all their mineral-rich land, and of course our ancestors slaughtered all of their ancestors.

And when you teach people this from the time they’re children, they develop a kind of hatred. They may smile at you as they serve you your cheeseburger or cruise across your lawn with a weed eater, but underneath it, when they look at you, they see a person who they blame to be responsible for their poverty and the genocide of their ancestors, and the only way you can make that even-Steven with them is for you and your whole family to die.

UPDATE: We have slightly edited the transcript of Gheen's remarks for accuracy.

William Gheen Asks ALIPAC Members To Mail Used Underwear To Undocumented Immigrants

William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is urging his group’s members to “send the illegals and DC politicians a message” by mailing them used underwear.

Gheen’s plea comes in response to a routine ICE contract solicitation for underwear for immigrants at detention facilities, which was picked up by Brietbart News.

“Instead of using our tax money to buy illegals 42,000 pairs of new underwear, we would like to send the illegals and DC politicians a message by mailing them our used underwear, and some of our pairs are in really bad shape due to the bad economy and all of the jobs illegal immigrants are taking from Americans,” Gheen writes.

Washington, DC -- ALIPAC.us is calling for tens of thousands of Americans to mail their gently used underwear to Barack Obama and John Boehner to answer Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) need for free underwear for the new surge of illegal immigrants crossing America's borders, enticed by promises of immigration reform amnesty.

While many Americans will be tempted to send the underwear donations unwashed, ALIPAC is reminding citizens that DC is already full of dirty laundry.

"Obama and Boehner have proven once and for all that their talk of passing immigration reform amnesty, instead of enforcing America's existing border and immigration laws, only brings more unwanted and destructive illegal immigration!" said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "Instead of using our tax money to buy illegals 42,000 pairs of new underwear, we would like to send the illegals and DC politicians a message by mailing them our used underwear, and some of our pairs are in really bad shape due to the bad economy and all of the jobs illegal immigrants are taking from Americans."

Americans who want to help the illegals and Americans who are upset that John Boehner and Barack Obama are throwing the future for American children under the bus along with their Oaths of Office, the US Constitution, the outcome of our elections, and the current laws of Congress, are encouraged to mail their used underwear to Barack Obama at The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500, and John Boehner at Office of the Speaker, H-232 The Capitol, Washington, DC 20515.

North Carolina GOP Senate Candidate Thom Tillis Marginalizes Minority Communities

In an interview recorded in September 2012, North Carolina Speaker of the House and U.S. Senate candidate Thom Tillis compared the growing population of African Americans and Latinos to a stagnant “traditional population of North Carolina and the United States.”

In an interview highlighted by Talking Points Memo, which first spotted the 2012 interview, a spokesman for Tillis claimed that “traditional North Carolinians refers to North Carolinians who have been here for a few generations.”

If you listen to the full context of Tillis’ remarks, however, it is clear that he was referring to the “traditional population” as a group distinct from the “Latino population” and the “African American population.”

Right Wing Watch points out that “traditional population” and “traditional Americans” are frequently used by anti-immigrant extremists as euphemisms for “white population.” For instance, in The Social Contract, a journal founded by an influential anti-immigrant leader, the term is used in a 2012 essay by Brenda Walker when she says, “Traditional Americans are assailed by affirmative action and benefits for illegal aliens, which are not available to citizens.”

In speaking of the “traditional population,” Tillis stands alongside people like William Gheen, founder of anti-immigrant group Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, who said that immigration reform would create a situation in which “traditional Americans, like those who that have been here for hundreds of years in descendancy, will no longer govern our own nation.”

It is true that North Carolina’s African American, Latino, and Asian American populations are growing faster than its white population. For instance, the Latino population in North Carolina grew by 111.1 percent from 2000 to 2010, increasing from 4.7 percent of the population to 8.4 percent. Yet Tillis has consistently worked to marginalize Latinos, by cutting spending on education, opposing healthcare reform, and supporting a restrictive voter identification law ironically called “VIVA.” That’s why People for the American Way is working in North Carolina this year to make sure Latino voters know the threat posed by Tillis’ extreme agenda.

Last year PFAW’s Spanish-language advertising helped spur turnout among Latinos in Virginia’s gubernatorial elections, and did the same in many 2012 battleground contests. As we look to the 2014 elections, Tillis’ actions and statements marginalizing the Latino community will represent a real challenge to his standing in an increasingly powerful voting bloc.

Judicial Watch: Obama 'Engineered' Border Crisis To Force Vote On Immigration Reform

Yet another anti-immigrant activist is claiming that President Obama orchestrated the crisis at the southern border in order to push a vote on immigration reform.

Sean Dunagan of Judicial Watch tells the American Family Association’s OneNewsNow today that Obama “engineered” the influx of families and unaccompanied children in order to “make current immigration law look as cruel and inhumane as they possibly can to possibly build political support for some additional amnesty program”:

Dunagan suggests Obama is opening the floodgates to these young illegal aliens for purely political reasons.

"It seems to be that the administration is trying to make current immigration law look as cruel and inhumane as they possibly can to possibly build political support for some additional amnesty program," he says. "I absolutely believe that it's being engineered and exploited to try force action into bad policy decisions and bad votes on the issue."

Last week, Republican congressmen Steve King and Steve Stockman claimed that the influx of immigrants was part of an Obama administration plot to increase the Democratic vote . Anti-immigrant activist William Gheen has also claimed that the crisis was “orchestrated” by President Obama and George Soros.

On his program last week, Glenn Beck also claimed that the border crisis is part of a plot to pass immigration reform and to ultimately return Arizona to Mexico:

To his credit, Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies, one of the anti-immigration reform movement’s most prominent spokespeople, has pushed back on the conspiracy theory.

Wanted: Volunteers To Stop 'Immigrant Youth Invasion,' Must Not Be Members Of 'Truly Racist Organizations'

William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC hopes to gather an army of civilian volunteers over the 4th of July weekend to “go to the border to shut down the new invasion of illegals who are minors” as part of what he’s calling “Operation American Shield.”

In an “emergency broadcast message” yesterday, Gheen pleaded with his followers to come to El Paso to stand against the “Obama orchestrated illegal immigrant youth invasion” which he claims is part of a strategy originating with George Soros to “pursue their overthrow of the American Republic disguised as ‘immigration reform.’”

Gheen writes that “Operation American Shield will be modeled after the very successful nonviolent passive resistance movements of historic note” and as such stipulates that his supporters be unarmed and have “no affiliations with any truly racist organizations.” He of course excludes his own organization from this caveat, writing, “This does not mean affiliations with all of the good groups like ALIPAC that have been falsely labeled racist or violent by Soros backed smear groups.”

While Gheen sees Operation American Shield as a “nonviolent passive resistance movement,” he compares his movement to the violent militia group Minuteman Project.

Gheen seems to be going at this project alone so far, since he adds a plea for a major national spokesperson to his alert: “We respectfully request that Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh, Senator Jeff Sessions, Congressman Steve King, Congressman Joe Wilson, Michael Savage, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Matt Drudge, Glenn Beck, Mark Levine, filmmaker Dennis Michael Lynch, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann, Congressman Lou Barletta, Rep. Candice Miller, or someone with their level of remaining media access step up to lead Operation American Shield at the border.”

We are calling for a peaceful citizen protest of the new illegal alien amnesty plan being conducted by the Obama administration called Operation American Shield to take place in El Paso on the weekend of July 4, 2014, and we need as many of you to come participate as possible! We must go to the border to shut down the new invasion of illegals who are minors!

It has been a hard fought battle, but now Obama is violating his oath of office, the Constitution, and numerous existing federal laws simply because high level Republicans are unwilling to impeach and remove him since they serve many of the same global elites that Obama serves!

Our border is now besieged by a great flow of illegal immigrants under the age of 18 who are being persuaded by the Spanish language media in South and Central America to bum rush America illegally and immediately!

Our Border Patrol agents are calling out for help from lawmakers and the public because they are being forced to let in violent criminals and to engage in the kind of human smuggling they are sworn to fight on our behalf. We need to let them know that help is on the way

Obama's administration and much of the American media are orchestrating this invasion by sending the message that America's laws and borders have been overthrown from within by the highest levels of our own government, which is comprised of lawmakers who were elected through massive expenditures combined with lies and deception.

Already, planes have been landing deep inside America filled with these new illegal immigrant kids. Obama and the backers of immigration reform amnesty are betting that soft-hearted Americans would never dare turn away children, and they are using these children to pursue their overthrow of the American Republic disguised as "immigration reform."

The US Border Patrol has essentially been ordered to aid and abet the drug cartels and illegal immigrants at our borders.

This new form of invasion, which relies upon treachery and treason in the top echelons of our own government, represents a deadly threat to our entire system of national security! It is an overthrow of our laws, the Constitution and our elections because those we have elected to Congress have passed legislation saying none of this should ever be allowed to happen!

We are updating our homepage at www.alipac.us with as many stories as possible to inform you of this new level of threat where some estimate that around 250,000 new illegal immigrant kids are going to enter America rapidly in this fashion with the coerced support of the Border Patrol per orders from Obama who is probably acting on orders from his boss George Soros!

We apologize to everyone for our short delay addressing this new crisis in full, but our resources have been strained playing a role in the defeat of Eric Cantor. We are a political action committee and we would have even held back illegal immigration supporter Lindsey Graham if we had been able to raise and spend a few thousand more dollars! If the Border Patrol is going to fly all of these new illegal immigrant kids into the country, I say we send them all to South Carolina where they can be with Lindsey Graham and these Republicans who voted for their own electoral doom by reelecting him in last week's primary battle!

Operation American Shield will need many American citizen volunteers who have clean criminal records and no affiliations with any truly racist organizations. This does not mean affiliations with all of the good groups like ALIPAC that have been falsely labeled racist or violent by Soros backed smear groups. Operation American Shield will be a fully racially inclusive effort as one of our core goals is to unite Americans of all races and walks of life who support America's borders and existing immigration laws and the Constitution!

Operation American Shield will be modeled after the very successful nonviolent passive resistance movements of historic note.

All Operation American Shield participants will need to volunteer for affordable ($25) background checks and agree to serve gun free. While I am a huge supporter of the Second Amendment, it is imperative that we all go as sheep before the wolves. We must go unarmed to the border.

We are going to observe the border and document what is happening as we place ourselves physically in the way of the illegal immigrants. This is our nation and this is our border and we have the right to stand on it, in front of it, and to make a statement to the world that the border is closed to illegals.

When the Minuteman Project went to the US-Mexico Border in 2005, it was proven that citizen volunteers could secure sections of the border from illegal traffic. Furthermore, illegal crossings in all sections of the border slowed and stopped in reaction to the presence of civilian watchdog groups. In Washington, DC, politicians were forced to focus more attention on border security instead of trying to pass immigration reform amnesty which would permanently destroy America's borders.

Everyone in America must quickly realize that the Obama orchestrated illegal immigrant youth invasion that our Border Patrol agents are being ordered to assist with is what these treacherous elites have planned for America's future... Open borders and unending waves of people pouring into America until the current peoples, laws, and values of Americans are permanently submerged beneath destructive waves of impoverished humanity.

We respectfully request that Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh, Senator Jeff Sessions, Congressman Steve King, Congressman Joe Wilson, Michael Savage, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Matt Drudge, Glenn Beck, Mark Levine [sic], filmmaker Dennis Michael Lynch, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann, Congressman Lou Barletta, Rep. Candice Miller, or someone with their level of remaining media access step up to lead Operation American Shield at the border.

Emphases are ours.

Tillis Borrowed 'Traditional Population' Phrase From Anti-Immigrant Extremists

TPM has dug up a 2012 interview in which North Carolina House Speaker and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Thom Tillis contrasts the growing black and Latino populations with the more stagnant “traditional population of North Carolina and the United States.” (The exchange starts about 2:45 into this video.)

Tills made the remarks while discussing the need for the Republican Party to reach out to and appeal to non-white voters — but the phrase “traditional population” as a euphemism for white Americans was lifted right from the racist, anti-immigrant fringe.

The Social Contract, the journal founded by anti-immigrant movement godfather John Tanton frequently uses the phrasetraditional Americans” to mean non-immigrants, and specifically white non-immigrants. One example, from an essay by Brenda Walker in the Fall 2012 issue: “The idea of diversity has been used like a club, to force obedience to the utopian multicultural state, as traditional Americans are assailed by affirmative action and benefits for illegal aliens, which are not available to citizens.”

The white nationalist website VDARE is also known to use the formulation. The late white supremacist writer Sam Francis, who was a contributor to VDARE, has also used the phrase.

The phrase is also a favorite of William Gheen, the leader of the anti-immigrant hate group Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, who warned earlier this year that immigration reform would “lead to a situation where traditional Americans, like those that have been here for hundreds of years in descendancy, will no longer govern our own nation.”

Eagle Forum, the group founded by Phyllis Schlafly, hinted at the same idea when it lamented that “non-whites, non-Christians, and non-marrieds vote Democrat out of group identifications. That is, they see it as being in their group interests to tear down traditional American culture.”

Famously, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly made the same connection when he lamented that changing demographics mean "it’s not traditional America anymore.” Pat Buchanan’s 2009 column, “Traditional Americans Are Losing Their Nation,” got at the same point.

Even if Tillis meant what he said about reaching out to black and Latino voters, his use of the phrase “traditional Americans” as a euphemism for white people shows that he has a long way to go.

David Brat Sought Endorsement Of Anti-Immigrant Hate Group ALIPAC

David Brat’s upset victory over House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in yesterday’s Republican primary in Virginia’s seventh congressional district was driven in part by Brat’s no-compromise position on immigration reform, which put him even farther to the right than the not-exactly immigration-friendly Cantor .

Among those celebrating Brat’s surprise win is William Gheen, head of the anti-immigrant hate group ALIPAC , who used some of his group’s meager funds to send out a robocall in the district in the days before the election, playing up the fear that undocumented immigrants would “vote with or against you in future elections.”

While the robocall was an independent endeavor, Brat had actively sought ALIPAC’s endorsement.

In February, Brat’s campaign manager filled out ALIPAC’s candidate survey, which asked prospective endorsees to choose between the enforcement of “immigration laws as the U.S. Constitution requires for the protection of American jobs, elections, taxpayer resources, health and lives” and immigration reform, which it said would “lead to a new voting bloc of 11-20 million illegal immigrants, which would in turn destroy any future hopes of border or immigration law existence or enforcement.” Brat chose the former, and earned Gheen’s endorsement .

Gheen — who is ALIPAC’s chief cook and bottle-washer — is a fringe extremist, even in the already extreme anti-immigrant movement. Here is just a smattering of his paranoid, racist rhetoric, that would have been easily accessible to the Brat campaign through a quick Google search:

William Gheen Robocall Warns South Carolina & Virginia Voters That Immigrants Will Take Their Jobs, Welfare And Votes

Updated

Despite his group’s perpetual financial woes, William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC has managed to scrape together enough funds to deluge 122,000 households in South Carolina and Virginia with a robocall attacking Rep. Eric Cantor and Sen. Lindsey Graham for supporting immigration reform, Brietbart reports today.

“Remember that a vote for Cantor or Graham is a vote for tens of millions of illegal immigrants to get amnesty, jobs, welfare payments and a vote with or against you in future elections. Remember who to thank for amnesty. Thank Eric Cantor and Lindsey Graham” Gheen says in the robocall, which he tells Breitbart will reach 26,000 Republican households Cantor’s Virginia district and 96,000 in South Carolina.

Cantor, meanwhile, hasn’t explicitly endorsed immigration reform and is actuallyfundraising off the claim that he blocked reform from moving forward in Congress.

Gheen is one of the most extreme figures in the anti-immigrant movement, who has warned of a violent revolution if the immigrant “invasion” can’t be stopped and said that immigration reform would amount to “national rape.”

UPDATE: It looks like Gheen’s South Carolina calls violate state law, which of course gives Gheen another opportunity for self-aggrandizement. The State reports:

State law bans automatically dialed calls that deliver unsolicited, prerecorded consumer or political messages without assistance of a live operator, S.C. Republican Party chairman Matt Moore said in a memo sent out last month as a reminder to campaigns.

Graham’s campaign spokesman, Tate Zeigler, said of the automated calls, “We don't do illegal robo calls.”

Americans for Legal Immigration president William Gheen said his robo-calls comply with federal law. Gheen was not familiar with S.C. law. After reading it, he said he would turn himself in if any prosecutor decided to charge him.

He also said he would beat any charges.

“I feel quite confident in my ability to defeat this in a court of law,” Gheen said, adding he is defending his right to engage in political speech. “For our republic to function, people need to be able to communicate with voters.”

Gheen said he has one request for anyone who plans to arrest him: “The only thing I ask is that they do it before Election Day, please."

UPDATE II: Gheen has issued a press release hyping his own martyrdom, even though there has been no indication that he will even be charged under the rarely-enforced South Carolina law:

The President of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC William Gheen is facing possible charges and arrest after bumping into a unique, obscure, and unenforced state law banning automated campaign calls that are designed to warn South Carolina and Virginia voters about how the immigration reform amnesty plans of Senator Lindsey Graham and Congressman Eric Cantor will affect them.

...

"I know that nobody likes robo-calls, but isn't it ironic that I might be charged for violating an obscure unenforced state law curtailing freedoms of political speech while more than 12 million illegal immigrants flagrantly violate numerous federal laws designed to protect Americans from real damages?" said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "A few seconds of an annoying call is nothing compared to the millions of devastated American lives that are a result of Lindsey Graham's and Eric Cantor's support for amnesty for illegals."

William Gheen: Undocumented Immigrants Joining Military Have 'Hatred And Contempt For Americans'

William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) commemorated Memorial Day weekend by sending an email to members of his group warning that a proposed measure to allow undocumented immigrants to join the military would “bring great joy to America's enemies in China and the Islamic world as taxpayers will now be forced to replace their own children in America's military with illegal aliens who will swear an oath to anything while maintaining their hatred and contempt for Americans.”

He further laments that the bill would “put military assault rifles and grenades into the hands of illegal aliens.”

We need your help to be able to return to the fight this Tuesday where we need to take action to stop the latest amnesty ploy in Washington.

The latest attempt seeks to put military assault rifles and grenades into the hands of illegal aliens who will join the military in exchange for amnesty for themselves and their relatives. This will be bring great joy to America's enemies in China and the Islamic world as taxpayers will now be forced to replace their own children in America's military with illegal aliens who will swear an oath to anything while maintaining their hatred and contempt for Americans.

ALIPAC Calls For Obama’s Arrest, Warns Of 'Unaccompanied Children From 3rd World Countries Rushing Our Southern Border'

William Gheen of Americans For Legal Immigration PAC has a new plan for stopping immigration reform: convincing “some judges” and the House Sergeant-at-Arms to arrest President Obama for “his actions that have directly contributed to the mass murder of American citizens by his illegal immmigrants [sic]” and for what he imagines is the “huge surge of unaccompanied children from third world countries rushing our southern border.”

Gheen has been galvanized by a deeply dishonest new report from the Center for Immigration Studies that claims that the Obama administration released 36,000 undocumented immigrants convicted of committing crimes last year. The Daily Beast explains how the number is sorely inflated and reveals very little. But to Gheen it’s “solid proof that [Obama] is an accessory to mass murder and numerous other crimes.”

Gheen wrote in a press release yesterday:

"We need a President who will protect American citizens from the many perils of illegal immigration and a Congress that will protect us from this President. That is why we are calling for impeachment and now the arrest of Barack Obama!" exclaimed William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "Obama's willful violations of numerous existing federal laws and his oath of office demand action now that we all have the solid proof that he is an accessory to mass murder and numerous other crimes. We are asking members of Congress to abandon Obama's calls for immigration reform amnesty for illegals and to instead file impeachment measures, and to approach some judges and the House Sgt-At-Arms to request the arrest of Barack Obama so he can be tried for his actions that have directly contributed to the mass murder of American citizens by his illegal immmigrants!"

He followed up the press release with an email to his group’s members today urging them to call their members of Congress to urge Obama’s arrest for turning the U.S. “into some kind of totalitarian non Constitutional governance.” He also warns that Obama’s executive order implementing parts of the DREAM Act has led to “a huge surge of unaccompanied children from third world countries rushing our southern border.”

ALIPAC's illegal alien invasion fighters,

Obama must be stopped and perhaps if enough Americans expressed their outrage to Congress it could be done. Obama's unlawful amnesty decree has thrown the United States into some kind of totalitarian non Constitutional governance by implementing rules that are not based on Congressional legislation.

At this time, the immigration policies of the United States are not operating under the auspices of the Constitution, Congress, or We the People and the results are that our Republic, that so many of our ancestors fought and died for, is being overthrown.

As you read this e-mail, reports indicate that there is a huge surge of unaccompanied children from third world countries rushing our southern border because of Obama's promised lifting of justice for "childhood arrivals." Texas is considering setting up large tent camps to handle this new flow generated by Obama. And since we are stopping Obama's amnesty plans in Congress at this time, Obama is considering more illegal executive orders to pursue his goal of submerging Americans who think like you beneath unending waves of angry illegal aliens willing to say or do anything to take more from Americans.

And now we have the direct proof that the Obama administration is an accessory to the mass murder of Americans by tens of thousands of illegal aliens, already charged with or convicted of felonies, that he has released from prison in violation of current US laws!

If this does not mobilize you, nothing will. And if this does not mobilize Congress, nothing will.

We need tens of thousands of angry calls to Congress today demanding that Congress facilitate the arrest, impeachment, and trial of Barack Obama.

This is the proper way for us to firmly express the level of our anger. This is the way we can break through the complacency in Congress. Even today, John Boehner.

Step 1: Read, share, and circulate our press release calling for the arrest of Obama. Please send it to members of Congress and as many local and national press contacts as you can. We are doing our best to get it to members of the media who may respond but we need your help!

Americans Call for Obama's Arrest For Murder of US Citizens Via Released Illegals

http://www.alipac.us/calls-obama-s-arrest-murder-us-citizens-via-released-illegals-2917/#comments_start

Step 2: Start with your member of Congress and then move on to the 49 Republicans moving to help Boehner and Obama make the illegal alien invasion of America permanent and more rapid through passing amnesty. Ring the phones off the hook in DC demanding

"arrest Obama for the all of the murders committed by illegal aliens through his non enforcement of the laws of Congress"

Call them on the phone, hit the Facebook pages of Congressional reps found with simple searches on their names, send in faxes, and letters. Move now as one, because this is your chance to change the focus from amnesty to Obama's abuses.

William Gheen: 'If You Don’t Respect The Boundaries Of Countries, Why Would You Respect Boundaries Of Other People Sexually?'

William Gheen isn’t saying “that every illegal immigrant is a rapist or murderer,” but he does have to ask: “If you don’t respect boundaries of countries, why would you respect boundaries of other people sexually or anything else?”

The Americans for Legal Immigration PAC founder was a guest on LA’s “McIntyre in the Morning” May 14 to discuss his recent interview with the LA Times about efforts to make it easier for undocumented immigrants to obtain professional licenses.

Gheen argued to host Doug McIntyre that a very small number of undocumented immigrants “were brought here as little bitty babies” and that the rest “made a choice to invade this country, break in here, disrespect our laws, disrespect borders.”

“If you don’t respect boundaries of countries, why would you respect boundaries of other people sexually or anything else?” he asked.

Gheen has long sought to paint undocumented immigrants as innately criminal, an effort that was given a boost last week by a hugely flawed report from the Center for Immigration Studies .

Gheen: A very, very small percentage of the millions of illegal immigrants in California and across the country were brought here as little bitty babies across the border. But that’s what they do to try to say, ‘Oh, look, here’s a person that had no choice whatsoever over this.’ Ninety-nine percent of the illegal immigrants walking around in this country made a choice to invade this country, break in here, disrespect our laws, disrespect borders. And you have to understand, boundaries and borders are very important because when you’ve got a person who’s willing to – you know, 99.9 percent of Americans do not go out there violating the boundaries.

McIntyre: Well, if you don’t have control of your borders, you’re not a nation. It’s that simple.

Gheen: If you don’t respect boundaries of countries, why would you respect boundaries of other people sexually or anything else? And that doesn’t mean that every illegal immigrant is a rapist or murderer.

McIntire: Yeah, we know that.

Gheen : We have a lot of people who are being killed.

Fringe, One-Man Anti-Immigrant Group ALIPAC Continues To Garner Mainstream Media Coverage

William Gheen, the chief cook and bottle washer of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), is an extremist activist who warns of a violent revolution if immigration reform passes and thinks immigration reform amounts to “national rape” because it would take the country away from “traditional Americans.” Despite his place on the right-wing fringe, through sheer force of will and frequent press releases, Gheen has managed to position himself as a national leader in the anti-immigrant movement and frequently gets press coverage for his extremist views.

The latest example of this is a Los Angeles Times story today about a state effort to make it easier for undocumented immigrants to obtain professional licenses. As an example of the “outcry of opposition from national conservative groups,” the Times quotes none other than William Gheen:

The proposal, predictably, has divided Republican lawmakers in California and sparked an outcry of opposition from national conservative groups that want tougher enforcement of existing laws against illegal immigration.

"It's insane," said William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee. "By granting licenses to illegal immigrants you both aid and abet illegal immigration, which is a violation of federal law, and you are sending a message to the rest of planet Earth that says, 'Come on!'"

Gheen said his PAC, with 50,000 members, endorses candidates who share the organization's views on immigration.

We have no way of corroborating Gheen’s claim that his group has 50,000 members, but we can be fairly sure that his endorsements don’t carry nearly as much weight as he claims. After all, as we reported last month, Gheen’s PAC hasn’t actually contributed to a federal candidate in four years.

ALIPAC is organized as a political action committee, but according to records on OpenSecrets.org, the group hasn’t contributed to a federal candidate or made an independent expenditure since 2010, when it contributed $2,000 to former congressman J.D. Hayworth’s primary challenge to Sen. John McCain in Arizona, spent another $3,248 in independent expenditures in the race. That year, Gheen’s group also gave small contributions to Tea Party candidates including Sharron Angle in Nevada and Joe Walsh in Illinois. ALIPAC’s spending on behalf of Hayworth’s losing campaign was its most serious election effort since Gheen founded the group in 2004.

In the 2012 election cycle and so far in the current election cycle, most of the organization’s funds have gone toward Gheen’s salary; the rest have been administrative and fundraising expenses, with a few thousand dollars spent on “web ads.”

Gheen’s reports to the FEC give us an idea of who is base is: Among ALIPAC’s largest donors is Elizabeth Van Staaveren, cofounder of Oregonians for Immigration Reform, which the Southern Poverty Law Center has designated as a “ nativist extremist group”; and a handful of anti-immigrant activists who lurk in onlinecomment sections.

Gheen regularly exaggerates ALIPAC’s reach and impact. For instance, despite claiming that his Facebook page reaches 195,000 people and that his “effort to circulate social media pictures of Boehner and Obama together” made all the difference in the immigration debate, the picture in question was shared a whopping 14 times on Facebook.

This is all on top of the fact that Gheen doesn’t exactly come across as a serious policy thinker. He keeps a Pinterest page where he postsracist, homophobic and just plain bizarre images and he started a Facebook page called “Mark zuckerberg sucks.” Gheen’s most recent project was the launch of a weird anti-immigrant “encyclopedia.”

Gheen’s ability to gain press coverage even while running a one-man fringe group is perhaps a sign of the fumes that the anti-immigrant movement is running on. Is there any other national movement in which a figure like Gheen could position himself as a key spokesman?

William Gheen Defends Don Sterling: 'I'm More Worried About The Black Mobs'

Yesterday, William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC posted on his website a long, indignant letter to the Southern Poverty Law Center on his website, blasting the SPLC for listing his organization as a hate group, and especially bristling at any suggestion that any of his activism is motivated by racism. “No evidence exists that anyone in our organization has ever engaged in racism, hate, or violence against minorities,” he insisted. WorldNetDaily joined Gheen’s cause, quoting his letter in a fawning report later that day.

So, of course it comes as no surprise that the very same day that Gheen was on a crusade to clear his name from charges of leading a hate group, he also took the time to post on Facebook a defense of Los Angeles Clippers owner Don Sterling’s racist remarks and reported history of racial discrimination, claiming that the “black mobs” he imagines “hunting white people” across the nation are the real thing keeping the country from racial “equality.”

“I’m more worried about the new black mobs roaming many US cities targeting and beating the crap out of white people playing the Polar Bear/Knockout game than some rich old guy’s insensitive, yet 1st amendment protected, comments to his girlfriend in a private phone conversation that would be illegal to record in most states!” Gheen vented. “White guy makes a comment on the phone about blacks and the media goes crazy and everyone is out to destroy him. Black mobs form across the nation hunting white people and the media helps conceal the atrocities. Equality? Don’t think so.”

Then, for good measure, Gheen reposted his thoughts on the page of the conspiracy-theory site InfoWars.

We've frequently noted how remarkable it is that Gheen, an unhinged fringe extremist, continues to have something of a presence in the right-wing media and the GOP. For example, today, Gheen announced that he was endorsing five more candidates for Congress who had courted his favor by filling out his candidate survey, including U.S. Senate candidates Mark Callahan of Oregon and Stace Nelson of South Dakota. They join U.S. Senate candidates Matt Bevin of Kentucky, Rob Maness of LouisianaGreg Brannon of North Carolina and Lee Bright of South Carolina, who have all successfully courted Gheen’s endorsement.

Tea Party Senate Candidates Court Favor Of Extreme Anti-Immigrant Group ALIPAC

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) may be the fringe operation of a lone anti-immigrant extremist, but hasn’t stopped two Tea Party-backed US Senate candidates from filling out the group’s unhinged candidate survey and seeking its endorsement.

ALIPAC’s president (and sole employee) William Gheen announced today that his group is endorsing Matt Bevin in his bid to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky and Rob Maness, one of several Republicans running to take on Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu in Louisiana.

Both candidates won the “honor” by filling out Gheen’s one-question candidate survey, which asks candidates to choose between “Support[ing] Americans and legal immigrants by support the adequate enforcement of America's existing border and immigration laws as the US Constitution requires” and “Supporting illegal aliens and their supporters by supporting changing existing laws to accommodate millions of illegal immigrants through 'immigration reform' amnesty.”

Current members of Congress who have sought ALIPAC’s endorsement in previous years by filling out Gheen’s survey include Mo Brooks, Dennis Ross, Austin Scott, Walter Jones, Patrick McHenry, Tom Marino, Lou Barletta, Joe Wilson, Diane Black, Marsha Blackburn, Kenny Marchant and Morgan Griffith.

The attention GOP candidates are giving ALIPAC is especially alarming considering that the group is basically the work of one anti-immigrant extremist that always seems one small donation short of total collapse.

Every three months, like clockwork, Gheen sends out a series of increasingly desperate emails begging his supporters for cash, berating them for insufficient commitment to the cause, and threatening to shut down his operation if he doesn’t get a certain amount of money by a certain time.

And then, every quarter, he manages to raise just enough to keep on going, appearing in conservative media to push his unabashedly racist anti-immigrant message, warning that an immigrant “invasion” will undermine the ability of “ traditional Americans” to rule the country, something that he thinks may need to be stopped by “ illegal and violent” means and an anti-Obama coup.

But despite Gheen’s boast that his group “put the brakes on Boehner’s immigration reform push” and his assumption that members of Congress cower in fear of losing his endorsement and being put on his “traitors” list, his organization appears to be running on fumes.

Despite the fact that his organization struggles every quarter to stay open, as well as the fact that he hasn’t been active in a federal election for four years, Gheen is still taken seriously in conservative media, congressional candidates court his endorsement, and his talking points sometimes appear in the mouths of politicians (here’s a video of Gheen and Rep. Steve King agreeing about the supposed threat of violence from undocumented immigrants).

It says a lot that Gheen, who inhabits the fringe of a fringe movement, still manages to garner frequent media appearances and even has congressional candidates seeking his endorsement.

ALIPAC Launches Bizarre Anti-Immigrant Encyclopedia

William Gheen of the anti-immigrant Americans For Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) sent out an email yesterday announcing that he has “acquired a premium new domain to use in the fight against illegal immigration, illegal immigrants, and any form of amnesty for illegals.”

It turns out that the new website, illegalimmigration.com, is a sort of wiki, inviting users to discuss (although it appears not to edit) articles on diverse subjects including “illegal immigration,” “illegal immigrants,” “immigrants,” and “Obama and illegal immigration.”

Gheen has stocked the site with some initial articles, which bear his trademark spotty punctuation and anti-immigrant hysteria. We’ve collected some nuggets of wisdom from this new encyclopedia of Gheen’s mind.

illegal immigration”:

Illegal immigration refers to a criminal act that is willfully committed by someone who enters into a nation of which they are not a citizen in violation of the laws of that land. While illegal immigration occurs in most countries, the biggest problems with illegal immigration are occurring in America and Europe where illegal immigrants from very poor countries are entering more developed nations in an effort to obtain more jobs, money, healthcare, education, and taxpayer benefits.

Many people consider illegal immigration to be a form of invasion and a form of theft because illegal immigrants come and take things such as jobs, taxpayer resources, and healthcare that are not theirs but belong to others.

Obama and Illegal Immigration”:

Many American pundits have expressed the opinion that Barack Obama should be impeached for encouraging illegal immigration, illegal immigrants, and amnesty by decree!

Illegal immigrants”:

Illegal immigrants are people just like the rest of us. They have feelings, emotions, they love, they hate, they make mistakes like we all do.

Unlike the vast majority of American citizens though, illegal immigrants have made a decision to break numerous important American laws. Illegal immigrants have put their own desires and well being ahead of the needs and desires of American citizens.

immigrants”

Immigrants is a term that should be reserved for legal immigrants only!

Those that support the costly and deadly illegal immigrant invasion of America and amnesty for illegal aliens are constantly trying to refer to the invaders by the noble name of 'immigrant'.

Dream Act”:

The Dream Act is Orwellian language used to try to sell a form of amnesty for illegal immigrants and illegal aliens. The word Dream is used as a reference to Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech which in fact has no real relationship to the plight of illegal aliens.

The Dream Act is also a political lever designed to play on the sympathies of American citizens and lawmakers to get them to allow an amnesty for younger illegal aliens under 35 that claim they were brought into the United States as Children.

illegal immigration news”:

The problem with the American global media is that every major news network is now biased in favor of illegal immigrants and immigration reform amnesty after Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch joined with super liberal NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg to try to pass amnesty.

Anyone trying to get accurate news about illegal immigration has to learn to read between the lines and locate alternative news publications and agregate websites because the damages and deaths caused by illegal immigrants are censored on a regular basis.

Gheen: Immigration Reform Is 'National Rape,' Hurts 'Traditional Americans'

As we mentioned earlier, anti-immigrant activist William Gheen appeared on VCY America last week to denounce immigrants as cancerous tumors that need to be locked away in prisons. But the Nativist leader of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) didn’t stop there. He went on to say that immigration reform represents a “national rape.”

Gheen warned that a reform law would give voting rights to well over “20 million illegal immigrants voting in elections, backed up by the next 10-20 million that are going to pour through our ripped-open borders right after that,” undermining the political clout of “center-right Americans.”

“Immigration reform, it sounds so pleasant, but the truth of the matter is that people that have no regard and in some cases antipathy towards the citizens of the United States are controlling these mediums and their way of dealing with us, instead of using tanks or bombs, is to flood this country with people that will replace us in our jobs, homes and ballot boxes,” he said.

The truth, in my opinion after studying this for nine years, is that the purpose of the amnesty is to permanently destroy the borders of the United States, to permanently destroy the type of, what they would call, Nativist or nationalistic tendency for us to want to have borders and to protect those borders or for the American public and American workers and American taxpayers to have any say on the numbers of people that are coming into the country or what role they will have. I call it a national rape and I’m not being flippant about that, I really see it as that.

If illegal immigrants are ever rewarded in any form or fashion with citizenship and voting rights, it is all over. There is no way that you, me and the rest of the center-right Americans can ever compete with 20 million illegal immigrants voting in elections, backed up by the next 10-20 million that are going to pour through our ripped-open borders right after that. You don’t have to be a soothsayer or some type of clairvoyant to be able to tell the future here people, we have the past which has led us to this point.

There are groups that are supporting this that look really legitimate because you turn on the TV and it’s John Boehner and it’s the president, walking out for the State of the Union, everybody is clapping, the cameras are running, the show is going and it all looks real legitimate as the president walks about the surrender of the United States. Immigration reform, it sounds so pleasant, but the truth of the matter is that people that have no regard and in some cases antipathy towards the citizens of the United States are controlling these mediums and their way of dealing with us, instead of using tanks or bombs, is to flood this country with people that will replace us in our jobs, homes and ballot boxes.

Just to be clear about what he meant, Gheen threw in additional racially coded language, arguing that “traditional Americans, like those that have been here for hundreds of years in descendancy, will no longer govern our own nation” as a result of immigration reform.

He even made the utterly baseless claims that thousands of Americans are killed by undocumented immigrants each year and that such immigrants are responsible for nine million lost jobs.

Illegal immigration is leading to many thousands of Americans dead each year that are killed by drunk driving illegal immigrants, gang member illegal immigrants; illegal immigrants engaged in other types of activities end up killing Americans that would be alive today if our border were secured and our immigration laws were adequately enforced as Americans expect them to be and other countries do that. Then we have over nine million jobs lost and billions of dollars’ worth of wage depreciation.

We’ve got billionaires like George Soros and the US Chamber of Commerce and Chinese and Saudi national wealth funds all driving this plan to merge the United States with the broader powers at be around us in a way that is outside the Constitution, in defiance of existing federal law, costing the lives of thousands of Americans, ruining the lives of millions of Americans and eventually will lead to a situation where traditional Americans, like those that have been here for hundreds of years in descendancy, will no longer govern our own nation. Apparently we don’t now since we have these existing immigration laws that are not being enforced.

Gheen: Treat Immigrants Like A Cancerous Tumor

Last week, William Gheen of Americans of Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) spoke to Jim Schneider of VCY America, where he recommended that the government treat undocumented immigrants in the same way that doctors fight a cancerous tumor.

We believe that the first thing we do is like when somebody has cancer. Not to dehumanize illegal immigrants, but a lot of times doctors will start to shrink the tumor before they start operating. So we need to shrink the tumor. We need to make it to a point where people start leaving the country and they go back to Mexico and they go back to Brazil and they say ‘you know what, I tried to break into the United States like all the other guys did, but I couldn’t get a job, I couldn’t get a license, I couldn’t get food stamps, so I came back.’ That is what turns off the flow.

Later in the broadcast, a caller insisted that President Obama “should order them all [undocumented immigrants] to be put into a prison camp and fed oatmeal for breakfast, lunch and supper, and water, and that’s all until they want to go home; anybody coming across the border be shot as soon as they cross the border, as soon as they cross the border they’ll be shot.”

Gheen said that he disagreed with shooting immigrants, but noted “a lot of people want lethal force authorized at the border.” He did, however, agree with her other suggestion: “Locking up illegal immigrants for a while and feeding them some oatmeal before you can get them back home? Yeah, we’re for that.”

William Gheen Explains He's Not a Racist, Just Wants to Preserve White Rule

William Gheen, head of the anti-immigrant group Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC), explained to an Idaho radio host last month that he’s not a racist, he’s just opposed to the people who are trying to change America’s  history of being “predominately governed by people of European descendancy.”

The people who call him a racist, Gheen told host Kevin Miller, are just “looking for any way to create division among any group,” a practice that he claims has increased under the Obama administration.

Anybody that dares say anything that they don’t like is going to get a label applied to them – sexist, racist, homophobic, anything like that. Because the name of their game is that since America has been traditionally a center-right nation for 200 years, has been predominately governed by people of European descendancy and Christian, different denominations of Christianity and deist backgrounds, they’re trying to knock that down. So they’re looking for any way to create division among any group.

You’ve seen it escalate, I believe, under the Obama administration, an increased tension between white, black and Hispanic; between straight and gay; between male and female; between young and old. Any differences between Americans that they can exploit and accentuate and increase, they don’t miss an opportunity to do it.

Later in the interview, Gheen repeated his frequent claim that illegal immigration amounts to an “invasion” and compared undocumented immigrants to muggers who threaten violence.

Nativist Of The Year Award: Eight Of 2013's Worst Xenophobic Leaders

While the vast majority of Americans, including Republicans, back a comprehensive immigration reform plan that includes a pathway to citizenship, the Nativist movement is still trying to scare voters and elected officials into thinking that attempts to fix America’s broken system will actually destroy the country…and all of civilization.

Here’s a look at some of 2013’s worst xenophobic leaders, including our choice for “Nativist of the Year”:

8. William Gheen

Americans For Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) leader William Gheen hasn’t changed his tune about using violence to stop immigration reform, warning that his group may soon stop using “nonviolent political means.” According to Gheen, politicians are trying “to demonize whites, Christians, and males” and turn over power to immigrants who are “gang raping, molesting kids, drinking, driving, killing, and joining gangs that try to feed our children cocaine and methamphetamine at the earliest age they can.”

This, he contends, is all part of a scheme to collapse the economy and divide America. Gheen even claims that efforts to reduce gun violence are actually part of Obama’s plan to “disarm American citizens” and arm “illegal alien insurgents.”

7. Cathie Adams

As the leader of the Texas chapter of Eagle Forum and a former chairman of the Texas GOP, Adams has been pleading with her fellow Republicans not to aid immigration reform efforts. Why? She believes that such reform measures are tools of Satan that will lead to the enactment of Sharia law and usher in the End Times.

6. Ann Coulter

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter is angry that America no longer has racist immigration quotas, worrying that America will soon “turn itself into Mexico” and undermine its delicate “ethnic composition.” “The country is over,” she said, if the immigration reform passes. Coulter also seems to be creating figures about the undocumented population out of thin air, suggesting that there are 30 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

5. Phyllis Schlafly

The immigration debate in Congress opened the door for some conservative activists to not only oppose reform efforts but also to fight any political outreach to non-white voters. Eagle Forum head Phyllis Schlafly took the lead, urging the GOP to abandon any outreach to people of color and Latinos in particular. She claims Latinos don’t understand the Bill of Rights or American values... because if they did, they would be voting Republican like real Americans do. Instead, explained Schlafly, Republicans should simply try to increase white turnout.

4. Mark Krikorian

Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies seems to think that Nativists are the real victims in the immigration debate and is attempting to use a “play the victim” mentality to attack supporters of immigrant rights. He says that Nativists are waging a heroic struggle against “ethnic chauvinist groups” and their allies in “Big Business…Big Labor, all the big donors, Big Government Big Education, Big Media, Big Philanthropy [and] Big Religion.” Krikorian hopes that the GOP stops trying to attract Latino voters, warning that “the future of the republic rests” on whether Speaker Boehner allows immigration reform to come to a vote in the House.

3. Michele Bachmann

Speaking of which, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and her friends in the Tea Party Caucus are desperately trying to defeat immigration reform by making sure that such legislation doesn’t even come up for a vote. Bachmann believes that immigration reform will literally destroy the future of the country and that Obama won re-election in part because he gave some undocumented immigrants the right to vote (he didn’t). She thinks that Republicans should give Obama a spanking until he hands over his magic wand that unilaterally gives the vote to all undocumented immigrants:

2. Jason Richwine

The Heritage Foundation’s study on the supposedly devastating impacts of immigration reform might have had more credibility if its principal author, Jason Richwine, weren’t a proponent of racist pseudo-science with links to white nationalists. His report was so erroneous and misleading that even many of Richwine’s fellow conservatives didn’t find it credible, but that hasn’t stopped GOP politicians from using the salacious report to justify their anti-immigrant rhetoric.

Nativist of the Year: Steve King

No surprise here. Rep. Steve King (R-IA) remains the face of the GOP’s anti-immigrant wing, as he believes that the survival of America and civilization itself relies on people agreeing with his “reasonable” xenophobic views. Nothing captured King’s outlook more clearly than his tirade against undocumented youth, who he believes are mostly drug mules with cantaloupe-sized calves.

Maybe such extemist rhetoric is a reason why the Nativist movement is beginning to fizzle.

Gheen Warns Of Violent Revolution If Tea Party Can't Stop Immigrant 'Invasion'

Larry Klayman and Jim Garrow aren’t the only right-wing activists who spent the weekend warning of a violent revolution against the government.
