Anti-Gay

Another Day, Another Freak-Out About 'Homosexual Indoctrination'

Based on the derogatory myth that gays and lesbians use schools to “recruit” children into becoming gay, cries of “homosexual indoctrination” have become a favorite tactic of the Religious Right to stoke fears among gay rights opponents and boost fundraising.

For example, Jennifer Kennedy Cassidy, the daughter of the late D. James Kennedy, yesterday in a fundraising email for Truth in Action Ministries, formerly Coral Ridge Ministries, warned members that the “radical homosexual agenda” will make the “celebration of homosexuality” become “required by law”:

Today our children and grandchildren are under an attack to force them to grow up in a world where homosexuality is NOT simply “tolerated” ... but CELEBRATED.

Not because you want to, but because your celebration of homosexuality is required by law.

We, as God’s people, must oppose anything that contradicts His Word — including the radical homosexual agenda. We must take a stand now — or apologize, in the years to come, to the children and grandchildren whom we have left to be victimized themselves. [emphasis theirs]

Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality, responding to a Faithful America campaign asking MSNBC to stop elevating the anti-gay rhetoric of Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, cautioned “Muslim activists” against working with the “Homosexual Lobby” because “they, too — as opponents of the sin of homosexuality – could become a target of the pro-‘queer’ silencing campaign,” which he says will begin “with the indoctrination of young children in schools”:

Do you see what is happening? The intellectual cowards on the Left — puffed up by a compliant media and suffused with enough “gay pride” and arrogance to presume that their aberrant sexual/gender ideology has NO LEGITIMATE OPPOSITION — are busier than ever trying to bully the media into joining their “Pro-Gay-Only” crusade. It is despicable, but worse: it is a grave threat to American liberty. Because when the media en masse kowtow to censorious activists — a road on which they are quite far along with the Homosexual Lobby — accountability, reason and fairness are jettisoned, paving the way for ever more reckless and extreme pressure campaigns against the dreaded “haters.” (That would be you, me and just about anyone who takes a public stand against homosexual behavior or “gay” agenda goals like same-sex “marriage.”)

Libertarians, secular-minded conservatives, and honest liberals, take note: if the Left succeeds in “silencing” all media voices critical of homosexuality and LGBT activism, it will move on to its next target, with gullible media sycophants in tow. Which perhaps explains why savvy Muslim activists and their allies have latched on to making frequent accusations of “Islamophobia” as a means to demonize their opponents (again, mostly Christians).

These opportunistic Muslims should reconsider their tactics. They forget that they, too — as opponents of the sin of homosexuality – could become a target of the pro-”queer” silencing campaign that brooks no dissent in its push for public approval and the power to enforce Political Correctness, beginning with the indoctrination of young children in schools.

Ex-Gay Activist Wants Homosexuality to Go the Way of Pluto

Earlier today we noted that the North Carolina Values Coalition teamed-up with the Southern Baptist Convention for a panel to marshal support for Amendment One, a constitutional amendment barring same-sex marriages and civil unions, which are already banned by statute. Following a speech by Richard Land, panelist Tim Wilkins made the case for why gays and lesbians should not have rights equal to those of their straight counterparts. Wilkins began his remarks by describing how he is “ashamed” of his “past homosexuality.”

Wilkins in fact, is a professional “ex-gay” activist whose ministry “stems from his own freedom from homosexuality some thirty years ago.” He is also a member of NARTH, the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality, and organizes a conference that “addresses such topics as If a Friend Says ‘I’m gay’, Debunking the ‘Gay Gene’, ‘What’s a Parent to Do?’, Untwisting ‘Gay Theology’, Counseling the Homosexual, Preventing Homosexuality, and A Biblical Bridge Out of Homosexuality.’”

He maintained that a same-sex relationship is inherently “unequal” and actually “lacks the very diversity it seeks to promote,” urging audience members not to treat homosexuality as a sexual orientation but instead as a “temptation.” Wilkins argued that homosexuality should be reduced to a “temptation” just as Pluto was relegated from its status as a planet to dwarf planet by the International Astronomical Union.

Linda Harvey and Barb Anderson Decry School District's Decision to Try to Stop Anti-Gay Bullying

This weekend Mission America president spoke to Barb Anderson of the Parents Action League and the Minnesota Family Council about Minnesota’s Anoka-Hennepin school district where Anderson’s group had successfully lobbied the school district to stop the school from dealing with anti-gay bias and discrimination as part of its bullying-prevention policy. A number of students who were bullied for being gay or perceived to be gay committed or attempted to commit suicide, and ultimately the school board reversed the policy after six students sued, saying that the district failed to tackle the continuous problem of anti-gay harassment.

Anderson bewailed the school board decision and warned about schools giving access to Gay-Straight Alliances, which she had earlier called “dangerous” and wanted them banned from schools, and seemed to suggest that they even promote pedophilia by calling it a “red flag” that LGBT students “get paired with adult mentors, adult homosexuals” through GSA clubs. Harvey said that GSA’s do not help protect LGBT students since “they’re advocating going into this lifestyle” and said gay-rights advocates “have manipulated this entire tragedy.”

Harvey: ‘Protection.’ That word ‘protection.’ They say they are protecting homosexual kids, no they’re not, if they’re advocating going into this lifestyle, that’s not protection.

Anderson: Absolutely not. In fact, when they get into the Gay-Straight Alliances many of the kids get affirmed in this sexual behavior which can lead to disease and terrible relationships in the future. Many of them are steered into gay drop-in centers where they get paired with adult mentors, adult homosexuals, I mean this should be a red flag for any parent. These Gay-Straight Alliances train these kids to be political activists. In fact at the press conference one of the comments that they made about these six plaintiffs, ‘they started off as victims but now they are going to be activists and will be out there presenting their cause,’ so they are going to use these kids in the future as well.

Harvey: And they are being manipulated. They have manipulated this entire tragedy, they saw the issue of the suicides, the tragedy of kids being self-destructive, and then they jumped on it, that’s just the long and short of it.

Anderson: Yes, that’s right.

The two also attacked the Southern Poverty Law Center, which led the lawsuit along with the National Center for Lesbian Rights against the school district, for trying to prevent bullying by “indoctrinating kids with homosexuality” and listing both of their organizations as anti-gay hate groups. Anderson said that the SPLC is “totally opposed to Judeo-Christian values, they really hate Christians and hate evangelicals,” and bemoaned that they listed “pro-family, pro-traditional values” as hate groups when in fact it is the SPLC “that should be considered a hate group.” Harvey later in the interview said that the only organization on their list she thinks is a hate group is Fred Phelps’ Westboro Baptist Church.

Harvey: Here we have the Southern Poverty Law Center which has named our group recently as an anti-gay group and yours, Parents Action League, as well, they were part of this and they have this whole section in their organization called Teaching Tolerance which is just, I mean I just roll my eyes because they have no tolerance. They’ve been big on tracking the Ku Klux Klan and actual racism but now they’re broadening this and trying to muddy the waters by a smack down on traditional values, isn’t that what’s really going on here?

Anderson: Yes they are just totally opposed to Judeo-Christian values, they really hate Christians and hate evangelicals. We can have anti-bullying programs that can eliminate bad behavior without indoctrinating kids with homosexuality, but that is what they want.

Anderson: The Southern Poverty Law Center is the group that should be considered a hate group. The common thread that they have of all the groups that they have listed are basically good, pro-family, pro-traditional values, decent organizations that they’ve put on their list.

LaBarbera: Obama 'Should be Impeached' for Trying to 'Pander to his Homosexual Activist Base'

Last week we reported that the Family Research Council asked members to pray against “homosexual tyranny” in America after the federal government agreed to have Blue Cross Blue Shield offer full benefits for a same-sex spouse of a federal employee after a judge ruled in favor of the employee in her lawsuit against the Defense of Marriage Act. Naturally, Americans For Truth About Homosexuality president Peter LaBarbera is demanding that Congress impeach President Obama as a result of his administration’s decision to grant her health benefits:

"This is another shocking act by the Obama administration, which has got to be the most arrogant and Constitution-abusing president in America's history," he decides. "The Obama administration didn't like the Defense of Marriage Act, which was passed by Congress [and] signed into law by then-President Clinton, and so now they're just ignoring it and blatantly disregarding it."

This particular case, however, is not over, as Republicans have appealed the district court's decision, which has no effect on enrollments requested by other same-sex couples. Even though the law is being challenged in court, LaBarbera says it is still the law.

"I believe that President Obama should be impeached on this alone," he suggests. "He's not dictator of the United States of America; he's president, and he can't just ignore the law, ignore the Constitution, to pander to his homosexual activist base."

More FRC Hypocrisy: Only Conservatives Should be allowed to Boycott Companies

The Family Research Council is predictably enraged that gay rights advocates are encouraging businesses and organizations not to partner with a t-shirt company that refused to print t-shirts for a pride festival, since “homosexuals will not be satisfied until they compel us to either spread their perversion or promote it”:

A Kentucky company called "Hands On" wishes liberals would keep their "hands off!" On Monday, homosexuals filed a complaint with the Lexington Human Rights Commission because the business turned down a request to print t-shirts for a gay pride parade. Co-owner Blain Adamson declined, saying Hands On is a Christian company, and as such, it is their "prerogative to refuse any order that would endorse positions that conflict with the convictions of the ownership." Now that the local commission insists on investigating, even the Lexington school district is putting a hold on all of its purchases. According to the commission, Hands On could be in violation of the city's anti-discrimination policy because it deals in "goods and services to the public."

But just because it sells to the public doesn't mean it has to surrender its private views. Like any business, Hands On has the freedom to establish its own criteria of conduct and conscience. The same applies whether the clients are Planned Parenthood, the Ku Klux Klan, or baby seal hunters. And in this instance, the Adamsons' Christian beliefs aren't the only thing opposed to the homosexual agenda. So is Kentucky law. Neither civil unions nor homosexual "marriage" are recognized by the state.

Not surprisingly, the Left still insists that personal morality take a backseat to its radical agenda. Whether it's a t-shirt company, wedding photographer, or the church, homosexuals will not be satisfied until they compel us to either spread their perversion or promote it. Unfortunately for these activists, the Constitution doesn't award its rights on the basis of political correctness. And until that changes, Blain Adamson has as much freedom to reject homosexuality as his customers do to endorse it.

Indeed, the Family Research Council’s brave stance against boycott campaigns and defense of the t-shirt company’s “freedom to establish its own criteria of conduct and conscience” would make more sense if the FRC itself wasn’t leading boycott campaigns of its own against the Girl Scouts. Tony Perkins of the FRC himself encouraged people to stop purchasing Girl Scout cookies and signing their children up to become members because of the group’s alleged ties to Planned Parenthood:

Someone else has their hand in the Girl Scouts cookie jar--and it's not who think. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. There are plenty of politics behind that box of Thin Mints, and you should know what they are before you go buying one. As sweet as the girls are, a lot of that cookie dough goes to straight to the group's political agenda. When they aren't partnering with Planned Parenthood, they're promoting sexual "diversity." Last year, the Girl Scouts decided to admit boys who dress as girls--which shouldn't come as a surprise, says FRC's Cathy Ruse, since they have a cross-dresser in their front office. And that's not all. "Earlier this month, a Girl Scout Employee... made the mistake of stopping by the office to do extra work on her own time in a T-shirt [that said] 'Pray to End Abortion.' A supervisor ordered her to turn the shirt inside out or leave the office. She left, for good." So, says Cathy Ruse, should we all.

The group even asked for prayers calling on the Girl Scouts to repent, gloating that because of the boycott against the Girl Scouts “their cookie sales are suffering.”

The FRC also backed boycotts of McDonalds and Wal-Mart for their ties to the Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, and is now encouraging people to boycott Starbucks for supporting a marriage equality bill.

Essentially, the FRC believes it is absolutely improper and appalling for gay rights advocates to lead a boycott of a company over policies they find discriminatory and offensive, but when it comes to the FRC’s boycotts against the Girl Scouts, McDonalds, Wal-Mart and Starbucks then boycotts are perfectly acceptable.

Matt Barber says there is 'No Evidence' of Anti-LGBT Violence, Discrimination

Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber once again is trying to deny reality by arguing that there is “no evidence” of violence against the LGBT community. Barber said that while he opposes “violence against people who engage in these aberrant sexual behaviors,” he also opposes efforts to investigate and prevent such violence and discrimination. While speaking with Liberty Counsel chairman Mat Staver on Faith & Freedom today, Barber reiterated his support of countries that outlaw homosexuality and warned that anti-violence measures are a “Trojan Horse” to repress the church and anyone who holds “traditional values.”

Watch:

Unless any of our detractors, which I know they will, attempt to say that we are advocating violence against people who engage in these aberrant sexual behaviors, that is of course not the case, nobody I know favors of course violence, we all are opposed to violence against any individual for anything. But that’s not what’s happening here. What’s happening is they’re using this specter of some kind of notion of ‘mass violence’ committed against homosexuals, they do the same thing here in the United States, ‘mass discrimination,’ something where there is no evidence of course against people who are engaged in these behaviors. They use that as a Trojan Horse to force, to compel nations and individuals and groups and churches that embrace traditional values, relative to sexual behavior, to push them into the closet and say ‘no, no, you have to adopt a full affirmation of these perversions.’

Garlow Says Satan is behind 'The Radical Gay Homosexual Agenda,' then Demands Gays 'Dial Down the Rhetoric'

Jim Garlow, who helped lead the campaign to pass Proposition 8 and head of Renewing American Leadership, appeared on Focus on the Family with Jim Daly today where he called on gay right advocates to “dial down the rhetoric” they use against their conservative opponents. Before his appeal to the gay community for more civil discourse, however, Garlow said that “the radical gay homosexual agenda” will “shut down” religious freedom and that the “redefinition” of marriage is actually a plan of Satan. Repeating a claim he has made before, Garlow alleged that the legalization of same-sex marriage is a demonic plot to “destroy marriage on earth.” Surely, Garlow may want to reconsider lecturing gays and lesbians about the use of divisive rhetoric after telling them they are led by Satan and out to crush religion.

Everybody on both sides of this issue full well knows the implications, that these are two locomotives coming at each other and those two locomotives cannot exist on the same track on the same time, and one is the radical homosexual agenda and the other one is religious liberty. They cannot be in the same country at the same time. People at the upper levels on both sides full well know that, they are fully, clearly aware that religious liberties, the capacity to worship God as we do, will be shut down if the radical gay homosexual agenda actually succeeds.

If I were Satan, this is key, if I were Satan, I would want to destroy the image of God on the planet. How do you do that? You’ve got to destroy the institution of marriage. If I were Satan I would want to destroy marriage on earth with divorce, I would want to destroy it with redefinition.

I would appeal with all my heart for the rhetoric to be dialed down and not to substitute ‘you’re a hatemonger’ when really what you’re saying is ‘I disagree with you.’ We mean it when we say we truly love you, we truly love you and we know our hearts better than you do, we truly love you, if we didn’t we’d be manifesting things in a very, very different way. I would appeal to you, if you happen to be one who feels vociferous about this issue and you’re a leader of the homosexual community, if you can, if you see it within yourself, dial down the rhetoric.

Family Research Council Prays Against 'Homosexual Tyranny'

Pierre Bynum, the Family Research Council’s National Prayer Director, is asking members to pray to “reverse laws and regulations that promote and reward homosexual practice.” The FRC, which said a State Department initiative to prevent anti-LGBT violence abroad was “exporting homosexuality by extortion,” criticized USAID for a policy which “strongly encourages” contractors to prohibit job discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Furthermore, the FRC asked for prayers against a decision by the Obama administration to ask Blue Cross Blue Shield to provide full benefits for a federal employee’s same-sex spouse following a ruling by a judge which found that the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional. “It is not too late for God to reverse the momentum of the homosexual movement in America,” Bynum writes.

Homosexual Tyranny, Bureaucracy Style - Despite the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which President Obama and the Justice Department have chosen to ignore, Federal agencies are now promoting same-sex partner benefits for those legally united and otherwise. Benefits are not being provided to opposite-sex unmarried partners. This month, the Office of Personnel Management authorized BlueCross BlueShield to give health benefits to the lesbian "wife" of a female government lawyer, following a District Court ruling DOMA unconstitutional.

We know that the State Department is promoting homosexuality overseas. Now the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has sent World Vision a letter saying a new federal policy "'strongly encourages' all contractors to develop anti-discrimination policies covering employees' sexual orientation." It is not too late for God to reverse the momentum of the homosexual movement in America.

May God-fearing politicians, unintimidated by homosexual activists, speak truth with wisdom regarding homosexuality and its impact upon children, families and society! May God raise up leaders who will reverse laws and regulations that promote and reward homosexual practice (Ex 18:21; 2 Kg 22:1-23:28; Eze 33:7-9; Heb 13:4, 6; Acts 6:9-13, 51-60; Jude 7).

How Scott Lively Tried to Stop Soros-Funded 'Infiltrators' from 'Homosexualizing' Uganda

Last week, Bryan Fischer welcomed Scott Lively on to his radio program to talk about the lawsuit he is facing stemming from his involvement in Uganda and that country's draconian anti-gay legislation.  Normally, the AFA posts video clips from Fischer's programs, but didn't do so for the segment with Lively, but we managed to track down the podcast of the March 22 episode on iTunes.

During the interview, Lively offered a long explanation of how he came to be involved in Uganda in the first place, beginning back in 2002 when he was brought in to explain to Ugandan officials and religious leaders how George Soros-funded "infiltrators" were flooding the nation with pornography in an effort to "homosexualize" their Christian society:

Uganda, in the 1990s, entered into an incredible Christian revival and, as a result of that revival, Christian values were just infusing the whole society and they went from having the highest level of AIDS in Africa to the lowest through the promotion of abstinence and fidelity in marriage, you know, the core Christian values about sexuality.

Because of that, that represents a huge threat to the globalists who use the sexual revolution and the whole Planned Parenthood Federation and the global homosexual movement, they use all those components are a population control method as they gather more and more power for themselves.

So what Uganda did represented a major threat to them, so they began infiltrating the country. George Soros, for example, I don't know what stage of the process, but he went in like he always does, bought media and set up grassroots activist groups. And then, starting in the late 90's, early 2000's they started, these infiltrators, starting introducing pornography into this very conservative society.

And so, in 2002, to combat this sort of threat to the Ugandan culture, the government held a conference against pornography and obscenity. I had the privilege of being the keynote speaker at the conference - the Lord really had orchestrated this because I knew how this was happening; I knew who was doing this and what it's all about, so I was able to just lay it out. I said this is who's doing it, this is what's going to happen next, and you need to organize in your society to stop this group of people from homosexualizing your society.

According to Lively, this original effort to stop these Soros "infiltrators" from "homosexualizing" Uganda failed, and so he was brought back in 2009 to deliver another presentation which reportedly inspired the anti-gay legislation over which he is now being sued.

Pat Robertson Says Satan is Behind Homosexuality and Abortion Rights

Kirk Cameron was a guest on the 700 Club today to promote his new Religious Right documentary Monumental. Referring to his interview with Piers Morgan where he called homosexuality “destructive,” Cameron told CBN News reporter Heather Sells that he was “stoned, so to speak” for not bending “to the moral standards of the politically correct, those in charge.” Following the interview, Pat Robertson, who yesterday said homosexuality is “related to demonic possession,” said homosexuality and abortion rights represent the “attack of Satan” on marriage and procreation, and congratulated Cameron for his stand against homosexuality:

Mat Staver Accuses Obama of Backing 'Forced Abortion Funding' and 'Forced Homosexuality'

Liberty Counsel chairman Mat Staver joined Jim Schneider on VCY America’s Crosstalk on Friday where Staver derided the Obama administration as “the most radical, ideologically-driven administration in American history” in response to the Department of Health and Human Services’ contraception mandate. Staver accused the administration of having a “very radical agenda that is very anti-life and anti-liberty” which he said is putting reproductive and gay rights ahead of the economy and even national security. “It is in-your-face forced abortion funding, in-your-face forced homosexuality,” Staver lamented, “and in-your-face a deconstruction of moral principles.”

Schneider: Last Friday the Obama administration announced some new rules that now would require colleges and universities to provide their student health care plans covering female students in the US, that they would have to include coverage for free voluntary sterilization surgery and then also said that further women of college age who don’t attend college, don’t attend school, they also would get this free sterilization coverage whether they are insured through an employer, their parents, some form of government subsidized plan. Mat, how much further is this going to go?

Staver: What we have is a president and an administration that he has gathered that is the most radical, ideologically-driven administration in American history and the ideology is very much pro-abortion and pro-homosexual rights and that trumps everything, it seems to trump the economy, it trumps national security. Of all the myriad of things that the president and the administration could be working on to make America a better place, to bring more jobs and so forth, they are working on these kinds of micromanagement things to push a very radical agenda that is anti-life and anti-liberty. It’s to not just satisfy the radical fringe that supports this administration but it is to satisfy the ideology that comes with this administration, it is part and parcel of what they believe and who they are. In terms of where the end is, nothing should shock anybody at this stage in terms of where this will be going. It is in-your-face forced abortion funding, in-your-face forced homosexuality and in-your-face a deconstruction of moral principles.

Focus on the Family Warns of Day of Silence 'Indoctrination,' 'Promoting Homosexuality and Transgenderism'

Religious Right activists are reviving their anti-anti-bullying campaign by attacking April 20th’s Day of Silence, an annual event when students protest bullying and anti-LGBT bias. Religious Right groups are once again promoting Focus on the Family’s Day of Dialogue, a counter event scheduled for the previous day. Candi Cushman of Focus on the Family on Friday joined Janet Mefferd to warn about how the Day of Silence “crosses the line in a lot of ways beyond bullying into indoctrination, just promoting homosexuality and transgenderism.” Mefferd, delighted that the Day of Dialogue would stand opposed to the “deluge” of “gay propaganda,” was especially startled by the idea that gay rights advocates wanted same-sex couples to be allowed to participate in proms.

Mefferd: I just love the idea of the Day of Dialogue because we do see so many Christian kids hearing gay propaganda and being deluged with this stuff. Let’s go back to the Day of Silence, now how long has this been around and how has this played itself out in the schools?

Cushman: It’s been around for a longtime, nearly a decade now. It started just as a group of college students, actually this was first intended for older students but now GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, has done a good job of infiltrating this event all the way down to middle schools, sometimes even elementary I believe, and the event is now in I would say nearly 8,000 middle schools and high schools and some colleges today.

Mefferd: Wow. What goes on during the Day of Silence? Obviously they are silent and it’s all about bringing attention to the LGBT issues but how does it play itself out?

Cushman: Well they say it’s all about promoting safe schools and anti-bullying but if you look at what they actually encourage students and teachers to do it crosses the line in a lot of ways beyond bullying into indoctrination, just promoting homosexuality and transgenderism. For example they encourage teachers on this day to discuss LGBT, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender themes in the classroom, to have materials on homosexuality and transgenderism displayed, books about it in the classroom, they have encouraged students to lobby for things like a ‘queer friendly prom.’ So it really gets into transforming students into being actions for adult gay and lesbian causes.

Mefferd: Wait, queer friendly prom? Is that what I think it is?

Cushman: That’s their word. That any combination of genders can go to prom together. it’s a problem when you have these things endorsed by the school.

Pat Robertson Says Homosexuality is 'Related to Demonic Possession'

Today the 700 Club featured a segment on a man who tried to “change” his sexuality by marrying a woman, but later ended up having extramarital affairs with men. The couple reconciled after his “repentance and deliverance from the homosexual lifestyle” and decided to stay together. “That type of conduct is wrong and it is time that in society we say certain things are wrong,” Robertson said. “He’s obsessed, he has a compulsion,” he added. “I think it is somehow related to demonic possession.”

Watch highlights of the segment and Robertson’s commentary here:

Liberty Counsel Will Defend Scott Lively

Last week, a Ugandan gay rights group sued anti-gay activist Scott Lively in US court for allegedly violating international law over his role in Uganda's proposed "Kill The Gays" bill.

So naturally the good folks at Liberty Counsel have stepped up and agreed to defend Lively in this case:

Liberty Counsel has agreed to represent Rev. Scott Lively, an evangelical pastor who was sued in a Massachusetts federal court by a foreign group called Sexual Minorities of Uganda (SMUG).

...

The suit is a direct attempt to silence Rev. Lively because of his speech about homosexuality and pornography ... Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, commented: “This lawsuit against Rev. Scott Lively is a gross attempt to use a vague international law to silence, and eventually criminalize, speech by U.S. citizens on homosexuality and moral issues. This suit should cause everyone to be concerned, because it a direct threat against freedom of speech.”

LaBarbera to MTV: Cancel New Show with Dan Savage

After complaining that gay rights advocates were trying to censor him, Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality now wants MTV to cancel an upcoming show with Dan Savage, SavageU, because he is a “a radical and raunchy homosexual activist” who is enganged on an “evil crusade” against Rick Santorum:

"There are two main reasons why MTV and its parent company Viacom should cancel Dan Savage's new show about sex on college campuses.

"Number One: Dan Savage is a radical and raunchy homosexual activist who gives unhealthy and reckless sex advice. He aggressively works to undermine the historic ethic of marital fidelity by championing the twisted notion that married couples should allow outside sex -- like so many 'monogamish' homosexual male couples do. Incredibly, Savage argues that this would lower the divorce rate.

"Number Two: Savage is an unrepentant cyber-bully who has led a worldwide internet campaign to demonize and destroy Rick Santorum's name -- creating 'Santorum[dot]com' to 're-define' it as the revolting by-product of anal sex. He should NOT be rewarded for this evil crusade, nor held up as a role-model for young people."

Klingenschmitt: 'Justice is the Last Thing the Homosexuals Want'

Former Navy chaplain/exorcist Gordon Klingenschmitt in an email to activists claimed that gay service members seeking equal benefits like medical care and housing for family members are trying to “create a monetary incentive for others to engage in immorality” by “demanding extra homosexual bonus pay.” Referring to a lawsuit brought by the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, which Klingenschmitt calls the “Sodomites Legal Defense Network,” Klingenschmitt said that gays seek to “promote injustice” by “forcing higher taxes upon heterosexual families to pay homosexuals extra bonus pay to reward them for their immorality”:

Eight homosexual couples are suing the U.S. Military to accept their illegal "marriages," and demanding extra homosexual bonus pay with medical benefits. A federal judge in Massachusetts will be asked to overturn the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which defines federal marriage as only lawful between one man and one woman.

The pro-homosexual Huffington Post reports that according to lawyers at the [Sodomites] Legal Defense Network, "the plaintiffs are challenging the constitutionality of DOMA as well as provisions in Titles 10, 32 and 38 of the U.S. Code that prevent service members in same-sex marriages from receiving the same benefits as heterosexual couples...

"At an event announcing the lawsuit at the National Press Club, the plaintiffs and their family members cast the challenge in terms of fairness. 'The case we are bringing is about one thing, plain and simple: It's about justice for gay and lesbian service members and their families and our armed forces,' said Aubrey Sarvis, an Army veteran and the executive director of SLDN. He stressed that all eight plaintiffs were 'legally married' in various states."

In reality, justice is the last thing the homosexuals want. Justice would enforce the law, when actually their petition is for the judge to promote injustice, and overturn the law, forcing higher taxes upon heterosexual families to pay homosexuals extra bonus pay to reward them for their immorality. If they succeed, it will create a monetary incentive for others to engage in immorality, instantly forcing homosexual marriage upon all 50 states with military bases.

But in good news, the pro-family House of Representatives has already passed a bill (now facing defeat in the liberal Senate and veto by President Obama), to specifically apply the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act to all military bases and chapels in all 50 states.

Linda Harvey Likens Criticism of Anti-Gay Activism to the Nazi's Anti-Semitic Propaganda

No comment necessary for Mission America president Linda Harvey’s latest WorldNetDaily column, where she claims that gay rights advocates who criticize and expose the vitriolic rhetoric of Religious Right activists are just like the Nazis who used “hate branding, focusing on Jews” to brand “them as the ‘enemy.’”

Homosexual activists and their allies have become quite skilled at marketing the Hate brand. Jeers, vulgarities and name-calling are only the beginning. The goal is to keep their easy-to-manipulate followers simmering in a bitter stew of misinformation and sexual entitlement, and then unleash their power in focused humiliation/intimidation campaigns.

The Hate label has been affixed to an array of conservative luminaries recently. The newest enemies list of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, GLAAD, is a who’s-who of respected leaders and journalists: Chuck Colson, Robert George, Joseph Farah, Albert Mohler, Don Wildmon and Tony Perkins are just a few of the names. GLAAD has decided that Hate is the shameful badge these folks must now wear. Isn’t this what used to be called “shunning”?

...

The carefully cultivated Hate brand is a big seller among marginally informed youth who quickly process whom to heed and whom to dismiss. This volunteer sales force moves throughout the nation with whistleblowing at speeches, interruption of church services, heckling and predictable “H8″ protest signs. Demanding the “hater” lose his/her job ups the ante. Online petitions keep the pressure high. And of course, the N.Y. Times, Huffington Post, MSNBC and others will feature Hate product press releases verbatim.

Recognize this? Hate branding, focusing on Jews, succeeded in branding them as the “enemy” in public opinion in Nazi Germany. It’s the method used today by Islamic radicals who spread ludicrous fables about Jews in many mosques.

You would think the SPLC and even GLAAD might recognize this, search their hearts and say,”What are we doing here? Christians are not monsters and traditional values are not Hate!”

We have to call this what it is – an attempt at revolution. We need to come up with a no-nonsense response. I am of course not advocating anything abusive or violent. Unlike our ideological opponents, we tend to play by the rules, which is why truly honorable people are easy targets.

Linda Harvey Dubs the Anti-Bullying Day of Silence a 'God-Dishonoring Day'

Concerned Women for America’s Chelsen Vicari on Monday hosted a call with Linda Harvey of Mission America and Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute where they discussed their plans for a walkout on the Day of Silence, when students protest anti-LGBT bullying and bias by remaining silent throughout the school day. The walkout endorsers also include the American Family Association, Citizens for Community Values, Faith 2 Action, Liberty Counsel and Save California, all prominent supporters of the Religious Right’s anti-anti-bullying campaign.

We posted highlights from program where Higgins urged teachers to “plan activities that involve student communications so students are not allowed to do this” and Harvey warned that the Day of Silence is using children “as a tool” for an “ungodly agenda.” Harvey dubbed the Day of Silence a “God-dishonoring day” that makes children “bow before manipulative, exploitative and deceptive accusations.”

Higgins: What the Day of Silence does is ask kids to refuse to speak during instructional time in class, that they have no legal right to do and no school has to accommodate that, and so that’s what we’re doing is asking parents to call their school, ask if students are allowed to refuse to speak in instructional time, and if they are, to keep their kids home in protest about the disruption of instructional time for a political purpose.

Harvey: You can keep your kids home that day if you suspect or you find out that teachers are going to accommodate this protest silence in order to honor homosexuality, let’s be clear about what this is, this is a God-dishonoring day that honors sin, sinful, immoral behavior that most parents don’t want their children involved in.

Higgins: Christian teachers out there and if you’re working in a public school plan activities that involve student communications so students are not allowed to do this.

Vicari: So Christian families, it’s imperative really to take a stand against Day of Silence.

Harvey: Yes, because it’s teaching your children to dishonor [sic] what God finds sinful, it’s teaching even conservative parents who maybe are not believers it’s teaching your children to bow before manipulative, exploitative and deceptive accusations. They claim tolerance but they are creating division, hostility and they are undermining high standards for kids.

Harvey: Your child will remember this, you know the biggest lesson—of course the school is going to learn something as lots of kids are missing that day—but the biggest lesson is your child will learn that you don’t go along with this nonsense, you don’t let people lie to you and use you as a tool for their ungodly agenda.

LaBarbera Warns of 'Activist-Minded Homosexuals' and 'Homosexual Activist Rhetoric' Controlling the Media

Religious Right pundits have been up in arms since GLAAD publicized many of their most vitriolic anti-gay statements as part of their Commentator Accountability Project, comparing GLAAD to the Irish Republican Army and calling the group a tool of Satan. Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality took his pity party to The Janet Mefferd Show yesterday, where he said that conservatives have been “a little too tolerant of the media bias” and that “activist-minded homosexuals” in the media are “leading a lot of other journalists to not bring both sides.” LaBarbera also defended Ron Paul’s writings about a “federal-homosexual coverup on AIDS,” saying they are not “homophobic” and no one should use that term anyway because it is “homosexual activist rhetoric.”

“You don’t see any Christians or any pro-family advocates, at least any that I’m aware of,” Mefferd said, “organizing any sort of accountability project to keep gay activists off the air.” Actually, the radio host didn’t have to look so far as LaBarbera himself, who who repeatedly tried to get Grove City College to fire professor Warren Throckmorton for his opposition to Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill.

Mefferd: Here’s what is interesting too, because you don’t see any Christians or any pro-family advocates, at least any that I’m aware of, organizing any sort of accountability project to keep gay activists off the air. I mean, this doesn’t go both ways. I actually think the Christians and the pro-family leaders are awfully, awfully tolerant of activists and what they have to say and what kind of media coverage they get.

LaBarbera: I think we’re a little too tolerant of the media bias, you’re absolutely right. You read a typical AP story these days, you won’t find another point of view.

LaBarbera: Then there’s lots of openly, I would call them, activist-minded homosexuals in the newsroom and I think they are leading a lot of other journalists to not bring both sides.

Mefferd: That’s true.

LaBarbera: And you do have gay journalists, openly gay journalists, covering stories and they might not be fair because maybe they’re too close to the story because they are activist-minded homosexuals themselves.

Mefferd: Tell both sides and stop calling it hate because I’ve never seen a Christian or a pro-family person ever exhibit hate toward a homosexual.

LaBarbera: Yes and stop using tendentious words like ‘homophobe,’ I remember Chris Wallace on Fox ran a story on Ron Paul, he described Ron Paul’s past writings as homophobic, I think it was ‘blatantly homophobic,’ and I read them and I said, look, this is Ron Paul’s point of view, these were not fearful, this is just a point of view about homosexuality and AIDS and something I don’t recall but we can’t use homosexual activist rhetoric in telling these stories.
