Fischer: JC Penney is 'Defining Deviancy Down' by Hiring Ellen DeGeneres

Once upon a time, Bryan Fischer believed that trying to get someone fired from their job was a hate crime.  But that is apparently only the case if the person getting fired is a Christian and the people urging the firing are gay because Fischer and the American Family Association are now trying to get JC Penney to fire Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson solely because she is gay.

On his radio program today, Fischer discussed the effort with Monica Cole of the AFA subgroup One Million Moms, which is responsible for the campaign to pressure JC Penney to fire DeGeneres.  Both Fischer and Cole agreed that the decision by JC Penney to hire a sexual deviant like DeGeneres was an intentional affront to Christians, especially since there were countless heterosexuals that the company could have hired to fill this position instead.

Fischer later went off about how this decision makes the company now the "leading voice for defining deviancy down" because it is promoting behavior that just a generation ago was shameful and illegal:

Perkins Rails Against Starbucks' 'Radical Agenda'

In his daily radio bulletin, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins used a series of puns to express his outrage at Starbucks over the company’s support for legislation in Washington state to legalize same-sex marriage. The National Organization for Marriage and Liberty Counsel have also attacked the coffee company for supporting gay rights, and one pastor even said that the decision is proof that “Starbucks Hates God.” Perkins lashed out at Starbucks’ “attack on marriage” and “radical agenda,” warning “if Starbucks wants to focus on politics, then its profits are on dangerous grounds”:

Perkins: There's more than coffee brewing at Starbucks. There's controversy too. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. Starbucks is stirring the pot all right, but with a liberal agenda that's got customers shaking their heads. In the fight over marriage in Washington State, the Seattle company is picking sides. Last week, the chain announced it'll join the attack on marriage and endorse homosexual unions. Spokesman Karen Holmes said, "This important legislation is aligned with Starbucks business practices... It is core to who we are and what we value as a company." Well, it may be at the core of who Starbucks is, but it's not at the core of who America is. Voters overwhelmingly believe in man-woman marriage--and they've passed 30 straight amendments to prove it. If Starbucks thinks people like their radical agenda, I hate to spill the beans. But people can get their caffeine fix anywhere. So if Starbucks wants to focus on politics, then its profits are on dangerous grounds.

PFOX Distributing Misinformation to Maryland Students

A public high school in Montgomery County, Maryland, is being criticized for distributing literature of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays, a group tells gay youth to “transition out of a homosexual identity” even though the American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Association of Social Workers and the American Psychiatric Association all deny the effectiveness, safety and ethics of reparative therapy. While Religious Right groups have sued for the right to distribute literature in Montgomery County schools, like the PFOX flyer which propagates discredited and harmful misinformation about sexual orientation and gender identity, they have also sought to deny this right to groups they disagree with.

Their pamphlet Preventing Bullying at Your School says that kids become gay because people call them gay, and that later in their lives gay people bully those who “decide to pursue alternatives to homosexuality”:

Many people, especially during adolescence, are called “gay” or other names even though they do not have same-sex attractions. Appearance is not a reliable means to know what another person feels. No one should be labeled “gay,” “sissy” or “queer” based on the perception of others. They may begin to believe what others tell them about themselves, which may be completely false labeling and cause gender confusion for the victim.

Moreover, a number of teens who do have same-sex attractions choose not to be identified based on who they are attracted to. Others are working to overcome their unwanted same-sex attractions and should not be called “homophobic,” “pretender,” or “fake” – derogatory words often used to describe ex-gays. Such name-calling can lead to depression, fear and feeling unsafe.

Students who have transition out of a homosexual identity, or decide to pursue alternatives to homosexuality, deserve compassion and respect. Their decision should not subject them to discrimination, ridicule, fear or hate.

Another PFOX pamphlet, Feelings Change, encourages kids to seek reparative therapy:

Lots of our friends had same-sex attractions when they were young and later on descovered [sic] they weren’t gay. You yourself may have heard, “You must be gay!” But no one should be labeled “gay” based on the perception of others. Get Smart! Explore the origins of your same-sex attraction. Why do I have these feelings/ Where did they come from? Why should I pre-label my life?

A growing number of teens with same-sex attraction are looking beyond a gay identity to define who they are.

Although your same-sex attraction may feel like a gay identity, a gay identity may not fit into who you are. If you are not happy with same-sex attractions or a gay identity, there is help. Find out for yourself. Get the facts! Find out who you truly are! Be informed before you decide. Before adopting a gay identity, get smart! Get the facts!

The PFOX board [pdf] is also composed of some of the most stringently anti-gay voices in politics today, including Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel, who claims gay youth are more likely to commit suicide because they intuitively know homosexuality “is wrong and immoral;” Robert Knight of the American Civil Rights Union, who thinks there is a conspiracy among gay Hill staffers to control Congress; Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council, who has called for gays to be deported from the U.S., and of course, Greg Quinlan, who was once married to a fellow “ex-gay” woman until she divorced him. As Amanda Hess of the Washington City Paper notes, very few people serving on the PFOX board are actually “ex-gays,” but that hasn’t stopped them from promoting dangerous “ex-gay” reparative therapy to children.

Patrick Wooden Rails Against Glee, Madea, Big Momma and Oprah for Promoting Gay 'Perversion'

North Carolina pastor and anti-gay activist Patrick Wooden appeared once again on Peter LaBarbera’s Americans For Truth About Homosexuality Radio Hour, where he responded to critics over his comments that he has an “anal obsession.” Wooden has claimed that gay men have to “wear a diaper or a butt plug just to be able to contain their bowels” when they are older as a result of shoving cellphones, baseball bats and animals in their anus. Wooden told LaBarbera that anal obsession is “the very basis of homosexuality” and he simply wants to tell gay men to “get it together, let the Lord deliver you and let God give you a woman, a wife, where you can enjoy the pleasures of a wife” and stop “participating in these perversive, sexual acts”:

Wooden: Now it is amazing that you and I are called men who have the obsession with the anus, right? Anal obsession, is that what she said? Is that not the very basis of homosexuality? We’re not homosexuals. What we’re saying is, we’re saying to men, ‘hey, let’s get it together, let the Lord deliver you and let God give you a woman, a wife, where you can enjoy the pleasures of a wife.’ Now you’re talking about a case of the pot calling the kettle black, we have no anal-obsession, but we are armed with the truth about the damage that people are doing to their rectums and anuses as a result of participating in these perversive, sexual acts.

He also had strong words for the show Glee, which he claimed is trying to portray homosexuality not as a “wicked, perverse lifestyle that destroys people” but as just “two clean cute little boys holding hands acting like two little effeminates.”

Wooden believes that “Satan has used Tyler Perry’s character Madea” and Martin Lawrence’s character Big Momma to promote “perversion” among African Americans. “Madea is the latest version of RuPaul it is selling perversion and drag to the African American community,” Wooden said, “and I pray that the overwhelming majority, and I see evidence of it, are not buying that perversion.” He ended his diatribe by lamenting that Oprah Winfrey, a frequent target of Peter LaBarbera’s condemnation, is a supporter of gay rights:

Wooden: We’re not talking about some little innocent looking thing that you may see in Glee, two clean cute little boys holding hands acting like two little effeminates and that is what homosexuality is all about and people think that it is something like that when we’re talking about a wicked, perverse lifestyle that destroys people and I think that it’s high time that people who think like we do come out of the closet and let their voices be heard, if not society will continue to go in the toilet.

LaBarbera: Talk about the inroads that gender confusion and homosexuality have made in [the African American] community?

Wooden: I believe one of the major inroads, one of the two that Satan has used Tyler Perry’s character Madea. This guy Tyler Perry he pretends to be an old, African American lady, he dresses up in drag and he’s this Madea character and I think Martin Lawrence he takes on this Big Momma character and these are throwbacks to Flip Wilson’s character I think that it was Geraldine. Well what has happened is, I said this before, in the name of entertainment and jest Satan has caused many to buy a whole lot of wickedness, he’s made great inroads in the name of entertaining us and people flock out because there are those, and I’m talking about good hearted people, they flock out because they love Madea, they love the Tyler Perry movies that feature Madea, but I’m saying to them that Madea is the latest version of RuPaul it is selling perversion and drag to the African American community and I pray that the overwhelming majority, and I see evidence of it, are not buying that perversion.

LaBarbera: Now let’s go to a black liberal, Oprah, I wanted to get you to comment. I saw one of her final episodes before she went off the air, now she’s on her own network, she ended it and she had this appeal on homosexuality. When I looked in her eyes, I saw somebody who had become a hardened supporter of so-called same-sex so-called marriage, she has evolved, she has rejected her Christian upbringing, whatever Christian upbringing she had Patrick, she was a hardcore supporter of homosexuality and I wonder how that happened. Do you think that’s just a factor of swimming in that Hollywood environment?

Wooden: I think it is; I think it is a factor of swimming. I think and this is just my opinion I’ve never talked to Oprah in my life, I think it is part of the price that she had to pay in order to build her empire. I would say to her if I had the chance, hey Oprah what has a man or a woman profited if they gain the world and lose their souls, if they gain the world and lose themselves?

Lively: Gay-Straight Alliance Clubs are Designed to Recruit Kids

Yesterday we posted a clip taken from the talk Scott Lively recently delivered to a church in California entitled "The Global Threat of Homosexuality" in which he declared that homosexuality is not a sin just like any other sin, but rather a warning sign from God that our society is on the verge of collapse.

Obviously, that was not the only absurd claim he made during his hour long presentation, as he also found time to go after the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN ) and accuse them of creating Gay-Straight Alliances in schools are part of an effort to seduce lonely kids and recruit them into homosexuality:

They changed the name from the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Teachers Network to the The Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network because the "Teachers Network" gave it away too much, it was too obvious that this was a bunch of activists in the schools. So they changed it to "Education Network" to obscure that just before they started launching what a now called Gay-Straight Alliance Clubs in high schools. And there are over a thousand of them - actually, there were over a thousand of them five years ago, God knows how many there are now.

These are activist clubs in the public schools in which these teenagers ... many of these kids, when you see the kids that get wrapped up in this, they're the misfits, for the most part, they're the kids that don't have friends in other places, they're chubby or they have a bunch of acne or they're socially awkward and then the Gay-Straight Alliance Club reaches out to these kids and brings them in and then they start adopting a gay identity.

And then they will take these kids out, wherever there's these clubs in the schools there's almost always homosexual community centers, gay and lesbian community centers - usually taxpayer-funded these days - where they will go after school or in the evenings and that's where they meet up with adult homosexuals. And you find often the relationships between these kids are with much older people and that this is a system for recruiting kids into homosexuality.

And it's all over our country and almost nobody knows anything about it because everybody's afraid to talk about it.

Scott Lively, The Rainbow Flag, and the End of Days

Earlier this month, Scott Lively delivered an hour long speech entitled "The Global Threat of Homosexuality" at Resurrection Life of Jesus church in Sacramento and it was, as you can imagine, chock full of all sorts of anti-gay lunacy as Lively sought to make clear that homosexuality is not a sin just like any other sin, but rather a warning sign that our society is on the verge of collapse:

I want to just attack this idea that people have raised that homosexuality is just another sin because that's not true and the more that we embrace that, the more that we accept that as a concept, the more distant we are from understanding the warning that God gives us when we see this phenomenon in our society.

When you see the gay pride parade going down the street in the major cities, what banner are they flying over them? They're flying the banner of the rainbow. What is the rainbow? The rainbow is God's covenant with man never to destory the Earth by water again ... So there's an enormous warning there and, at the same time, we're also given a clue as to what's happening with apostasy in the modern age when people will raise the rainbow flag - and there's a passage in Isiah, I forget the chapter and verse, that says "they parade their sin like Sodom." And that is what is exactly going on with people who have defined themselves by this particular behavior and lifestyle. They parade their sin like Sodom. And they do it under the rainbow banner almost as if they're saying "God, you can do nothing to us" because they don't believe that Sodom was destroyed because of homosexuality so they aren't learning the lesson from that.

In fifty years we have seen this tiny group of people - they really only represent about two percent of the population - that has grown from being a reviled subculture to now having more power in the legislatures and courtrooms of the world than the Christian church does. In fifty years! Nothing has ever grown that fast globally, nothing. Not Islam, not Darwinism, not Marxism, nothing has ever grown that fast. Which shows you that this is a spiritual phenomenon that is unparallelled and that's why God has selected it, singled out this particular behavior to be the indicator of extreme apostasy, the furthest edge of deviance and the warning sign that things are in really, really bad shape.

Perkins: 'The Islamists and the Homosexuals Work Out of the Same Playbook'

Yesterday on Today’s Issues, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins claimed that “Islamists and the homosexuals work out of the same playbook” in their attempt to “marginalize” and “silence” critics. Perkins told his cohost, American Family Association head Tim Wildmon, that both Islamists and gays and lesbians attack critics because “if what they do and what they subscribe to is scrutinized, people will turn away from it.” Wildmon wholeheartedly agreed with Perkins and said that Islamists and the gay community want people to “suspend common sense.”

Listen:

Perkins: The Islamists and the homosexuals work out of the same playbook. They knew that if what they do and what they subscribe to is scrutinized, people will turn away from it, so what they want to do is they want to marginalize and eventually silence anyone who challenges their ideology and their agenda.

Wildmon: That’s called political correctness.

Perkins: Yup.

Wildmon: What you have to do there is you have to deny reality and you have to, you know, you have to suspend common sense.

Romney Touts Support of Anti-Gay Activists

Mitt Romney’s campaign today unveiled its Social Conservatives Coalition along with a letter from nine Massachusetts activists defending Romney’s conservative credentials on abortion rights and gay rights while governor. As Jeremy Hooper noted, one of such activists includes Roberto Miranda, who claimed that Satan is behind marriage equality and directly tied advances for gay rights to the attacks on September 11th, 2001. Kyle reported back in 2006:

Satan has warred mightily against this region, and has effectively neutralized it through the influence of principalities of rationalism, humanism, intellectual pride and spiritual arrogance. Massachusetts, as well as all of New England, has become a cemetery of churches, a breeding ground for heretical doctrine, and intellectual furnace energizing attitudes of godlessness, rational arrogance and secularism It is no coincidence, of course, that something as dramatically distant from the Christian worldview as gay marriage would be originated in this region.

Is it exaggerated to see prophetic significance in the fact that on September 11, 2001 Boston served as the point of departure for the deadly forces that spread so much destruction and havoc in this nation and all over the world? What took place at the material level is now being carried out at the moral and spiritual level, as the virus of homosexuality and gay marriage begins to spread dramatically all over this nation and perhaps the world.

While it appears that the Romney campaign has no problem with aligning itself with someone who blames “the virus of homosexuality and gay marriage” for the 911 attacks, a member of Social Conservatives Coalition may upset one major Romney booster: Florida congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. Romney has campaigned with Rep. Ros-Lehtinen in Florida and the congresswoman even stars in a Romney Spanish-language ad.

But one of Romney’s Coalition leaders, Marili Cancio of the Christian Family Coalition, represents a group that has attacked Rep. Ros-Lehtinen for her advocacy of gay rights. Here’s what the Christian Family Coalition had to say about Rep. Ros-Lehtinen for co-sponsoring the Respect for Marriage Act, attacking her as “an arrogant, anti-Family, homosexualist extremist” and a “corrupt politician”:

Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) has embarrassed and ridiculed herself by tragically becoming the first Republican to co-sponsor on a socially destructive and totally undemocratic bill to repeal the bipartisan Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) that respects marriage at the Federal level. This new fraudulent legislation seeks to impose homosexual so-called "marriage" on all fifty (50) states and thereby trample on the will of the American people and our nation's traditions and values.

Voters elected Rep. Ros-Lehtinen as a pro-Life, pro-Family Conservative, not as an arrogant, anti-Family, homosexualist extremist. Homosexual so-called "marriage" was never part of her campaign platform. She lied to and misled her own constituents, campaign donors and volunteers by corruptly kowtowing to the anti-social, extremist homosexualist agenda in exchange for who knows what.

This much we do know, in November 2008, 62% of Florida's voters, including those in her own congressional district, voted for a constitutional amendment protecting and defining civil marriage and all of its benefits as "the union of one man, one woman." Now, Rep. Ros-Lehtinen refuses to respect this law, she refuses to respect the will of the people, and she refuses to honor the moral values and ethical principles upon which she was elected to Congress! Shame on her!

There will be more to come for this public servant tragically gone astray! Voters will not allow arrogant, corrupt politicians to undermine with impunity the safety and welfare of their families and their community. This matter is far from over.

With Romney trying to shore up his social conservative backers, he may want to stay away from trumpeting the support of people who blame homosexuality for 9/11 and representatives of organizations who call one of his prominent endorsers a “homosexualist extremist.”

Linda Harvey Demands Parents Fight 'Foolish and Deceptive' Gay Rights

In Mission America president Linda Harvey’s world, students across America are rebelling against gay rights and it is time for parents to “pick up the ball and run with it.” On her radio bulletin today, Harvey said that “students all over the country” are working against “the homosexual party line” and that it is time for parents to “stand up” to the “foolish and deceptive” gay rights movement. While a recent poll found that 71 percent of college students support marriage equality for gays and lesbians, Harvey claimed that young people “know in their hearts that homosexuality is wrong,” citing the ‘Straight Pride’ t-shirts which include an excerpt from Leviticus saying that gays should be put to death.

Harvey: There are students all over the country who are very turned off by the homosexual party line in public school and in college. Some respond with t-shirts saying something like ‘Straight Pride,’ others report what’s going on to their parents and some parents pick up the ball and run with it. Others don’t and that is very troubling because we need to be those parents who go to bat over these principles. Our children are watching and they know in their hearts that homosexuality is wrong. They are waiting for adults to stand up to this foolish and deceptive agenda.

Staver: The APA Bullies Ex-Gay Proponents

Today's episode of Liberty Counsel's "Faith and Freedom" radio program was dedicated to discussing the controversy over a high school newspaper op-ed in Wisconsin in which a student argued against allowing gay couples to adopt by repeatedly calling homosexuality an "abomination" and citing Bible verses calling for gays to be put to death.

Liberty Counsel is now threatening to sue over it because, as Mat Staver sees it, school officials pulling and apologizing for the column is a violation of the student's First Amendment rights.  And it is also an example of bullying ... just like how the American Psychological Association bullies those who promote ex-gay research and therapy:

It's just like in 1973 when the homosexual lobby pressured the American Psychological Association to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder. From that point on, there has been an outright political opposition to any research on the fact that homosexuality is a condition that you can change, it is not static, it is not wired in your system where it is unchangeable, that you can change. Any researcher that wants to pursue that kind of research or even counsel in that kind of research is bullied by the APA and those professional organization.

Rep. Chris Smith: Obama Administration Trying to 'Remake America as the Culture of Death'

Today on Washington Watch Weekly with Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) laced into President Obama, whom he called the “abortion president,” for appointing “radically pro-abortion” people to the government who are promoting “evil” with an “anti-child, anti-woman mentality.”

Smith: When you have the coercive power of the state in the hands of the abortion president who litmus tests virtually everybody in his administration to ensure that they are radically pro-abortion and very often come right out of the ranks of Planned Parenthood or NARAL or EMILY’s List to hold these positions and then they do their dirty work every day of the week and then they fund non-governmental organizations like Planned Parenthood who then continue promoting this evil, and this anti-child, anti-woman mentality.

Smith went on to tell Perkins that the Obama administration seeks “to remake America as the culture of death” and if he wins re-elections, it “will be significantly worse in terms of extremism in promoting both the abortion issue as well as the homosexual agenda.”

Smith: They are very coercive in this administration, there is nothing benign or ‘come along and let us try to convince you,’ they tell you under power of huge penalties, and that is what ObamaCare is all about, it is riddled with penalties, everyone knows about the one if you don’t buy health insurance you can get fined. But when it comes to the moral issues, they seek to remake America as the culture of death.

The second four years, the second term of a Barack Obama will be significantly worse in terms of extremism in promoting both the abortion issue as well as the homosexual agenda.

Dobson: Kids Forced to Learn 'Adult Sex Perverse Behavior'

Yesterday, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson appeared on a conference call with Champion the Vote, a nominally non-partisan group that focuses on mobilizing Religious Right voters. Dobson spent much of his time on the call criticizing the gay rights movement for disingenuously using the “human rights and anti-discrimination” message and the “‘live and let live’ concept” for advancing “homosexual adoption, homosexual marriage [and] requiring foster parents to attend classes so they can indoctrinate the foster kids that they have with the gay and lesbian concept.”

Dobson reserved his most heated attacks for California’s SB48 law, which ensures that schools cover the accomplishments of prominent LGBT historical figures, calling it “the most egregious state law that is on the books today.” According to Dobson, “five year-olds toddling off to schools on their wobbly little legs” in California are now forced to hear teachers tell “them about adult sex perverse behavior.”

Listen:

Dobson: One reason that the gay community is so successful and it was a strategy that was worked out in the 1940s but one reason that they’ve been so successful in making their argument is because they have made a very compelling case for human rights and anti-discrimination, I was kind of referring to that a minute ago, and obviously we all agree with that and Christians do not want any of their fellow human beings to be denied basic rights and human rights and be subjected to discrimination. Christians see the logic in that argument but that ‘live and let live’ concept makes it easier for gays and lesbians to fight for the agenda of their cause, including homosexual adoption, homosexual marriage, requiring foster parents to attend classes so they can indoctrinate the foster kids that they have with the gay and lesbian concept.

And what’s going on right now in California and Massachusetts which is without question the most egregious state law that is on the books today where, speaking in California, from kindergarten to grade 12, every single year and in most classes, the teacher is required to teach the contributions and the great benefits not only of homosexuality through the years but bisexuality and transgendered sexuality and lesbianism, and it starts in kindergarten! Can you imagine this! We’re talking about five year-olds toddling off to schools on their wobbly little legs and they get there and a teacher with all the authority that can be invested in an adult stands before them, and they are sitting on the floor with their legs crossed, and begins telling them about adult sex perverse behavior. I mean, that takes my breath away!

Michael Brown: Gays Use Youth Suicide Victims as 'Pawns'

While appearing on AFR Mornings with host Frank Turek on the American Family Association’s American Family Radio, anti-gay activist Michael Brown said that gay rights advocates are making LGBT youth who commit suicide “pawns in a larger political agenda” because they know “it’s a whole lot harder” for their opponents “to look at a kid and a family where there’s a suicide.” Brown, who blamed gay rights supporters for the murder of California fifteen year-old Lawrence King, told Turek that increased attention to suicides by LGBT teenagers are making people ignore other teenagers who commit suicide.

Of course, Brown offered no evidence to back up his claim that concerns about suicide among LGBT youth are undercutting efforts to prevent suicide in general. The Suicide Prevention Resource Center reported in 2008 that lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth “are nearly one and a half to three times more likely to have reported suicidal ideation” and “nearly one and a half to seven times more likely than non-LGB youth to have reported attempting suicide,” noting that “stigma and discrimination are directly tied to risk factors for suicide.”

Later, Brown called gay rights advocates “completely intolerant” and Turek, who has called homosexuality a “road to destruction,” labeled them “the most intolerant people out there.”

Watch:

Brown: For every one kid, gay teen, that commits suicide because of bullying or because parents say ‘homosexuals go to hell’ or because they just feel ‘I have no future, I have no hope, I can never marry’ and so on, these should be weighty issues to us as Christians, this should hurt us, what if it’s our own kid? That’s why we need to look at every kid. But for every one that commits suicide for that cause, there are--is it dozens, is it scores, I don’t know the exact stats how it breaks down--but a whole lot more kids who commit suicide for other reasons, we never hear about them in the news! We don’t hear national campaigns about them!

So for me what is so concerning is these kids become pawns in a larger political agenda because it’s a whole lot harder to look at a kid and a family where there’s a suicide, it’s a whole lot harder to look at that and hold to our convictions than it is to look at say two forty year old men that want to be married. So we need a compassionate response but boy is this being utilized to push a whole agenda on our society and then an agenda that is completely intolerant, you cannot hold to your views.

Turek: The folks who say they are fighting for tolerance are the most intolerant people out there.

FRC: 'Rebel Fleet Surrenders to Gay Empire'

After first going after Girl Scout cookies, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins is now attacking the game Star Wars: The Old Republic for allowing same-sex relationships. Stephen Reid of Bioware announced that players in the MMO (massively multiplayer online game) could have “same gender romances with companion characters” as part of “a post-launch feature.” But enabling players to be in same-sex relationships is too much for Perkins, who in a radio bulletin entitled “Rebel Fleet Surrenders to Gay Empire” slammed the game for having “gone to the dark side.” He said that parents are angry “that their kids will be exposed to this Star Warped way of thinking,” urging members to “join them by logging on and speaking up. It's time to show companies who the Force is really with!”

In a new Star Wars game, the biggest threat to the empire may be homosexual activists! Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. In a galaxy not so far far away, Star Wars gamers have already gone to the dark side. The new video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic, has added a special feature: gay relationships. Bioware, the company that developed the game, said it's launching a same-sex romance component to satisfy some complaints. That surprised a lot of gamers, since Bioware had made it clear in 2009 that "gay" and "lesbian" don't exist in the Star Wars universe. Since the announcement, homosexuals have been celebrating the news, but parents sure aren't. On the game's website, there are more than 300 pages of comments--a lot of them expressing anger that their kids will be exposed to this Star Warped way of thinking. You can join them by logging on and speaking up. It's time to show companies who the Force is really with!

Romney Blasts Obama's 'Assaults' on 'Life', 'Religion' and 'Marriage'

On a conference call last night with Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition, Mitt Romney laced into President Obama, arguing that he is leading an “assault on life,” an “assault on religion” and an “assault on marriage” as part of a larger “assault on American values.” With Gingrich quickly moving up the polls in Florida with the support of more conservative, evangelical voters, Romney used the conference call to pick up the same rhetoric used by unsuccessful candidates like Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann and dish out red meat to Religious Right voters.

Romney, once a stalwart defender of Roe v. Wade, said President Obama shows a “disregard for the sanctity of human life [that] is absolutely appalling” and is leading an “assault on life” by rescinding the Mexico City Gag Rule, which bars the government from funding NGOs that use their own finances for family planning which include abortion services or referrals. Romney also distorted Obama’s statement marking the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, claiming that the President thinks pregnant women “can get rid of the child and therefore have an equal opportunity,” when actually Obama concluded his statement by saying that “we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”

He went on to say that Obama is conducting an “assault on religion” through the administration’s opposition to employment discrimination on religious grounds and attempts to ensure that women cannot be refused birth control coverage in their insurance plans or medical procedures because of loopholes, calling it “an assault on religion unlike anything we have seen.”

Romney concluded his diatribe by attacking a push for equal rights for gays and lesbians as an “assault on marriage,” and pledged to promote the Federal Marriage Amendment and stop Obama from paving “the path to same-sex marriage.”

Listen:

Romney: I think he is detached from reality when he says that he wants to ‘reclaim American values.’ There has been in my view an assault on American values since the beginning of his administration. Clearly from the beginning the assault on life with his abandonment of the Mexico City Policy and with the Vice President being sent to China and saying we understand the one-child policy there and of course the abuses associated with that policy are alarming and disturbing, and then on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade just a couple of days ago he said that the wonderful thing about Roe v. Wade is that it provides an equal opportunity for girls to equal boys, meaning that they don’t have to have a child anymore, if they become pregnant they can get rid of the child and therefore have an equal opportunity. The disregard for the sanctity of human life is absolutely appalling.

Then of course there’s the assault on religion. I think a lot of people were surprised that he felt that the government should be able to determine who is and who is not a minister and fortunately the Supreme Court disagreed with him on that, but now he’s gone forward and said that religious institutions, universities, hospitals and so forth, religious institutions have to provide free contraceptives to all their employees, even if that religious institution is opposed to the use of contraception, as in the case of the Catholic Church. Even in that regard, fighting to eliminate the conscience clause for health care workers who wish not to provide abortion services or contraceptives in their workplace, in their hospital for instance. It’s an assault on religion unlike anything we have seen.

There’s been an assault on marriage. I think he is very aggressively trying to pave the path to same-sex marriage. I would unlike this president defend the Defense of Marriage Act. I would also propose and promote once again an amendment to the constitution to define marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman.

Wooden: Chaz Bono is Under 'the Influence of the Devil'

I think we all owe Peter LaBarbera a sincere thanks for bringing Patrick Wooden into his anti-gay activism because every time Wooden opens his mouth, we get great content for our blog.

When we were searching for a photo of Wooden to use for our latest video of him asserting that gay men shove cellphones, baseball bats, and gerbils into their rectums, we went to Wooden's website where we discovered a video of LaBarbera and Wooden talking about "Fighting Homosexuality in America."

Most of the video consisted of things we had already heard Wooden say, but then the two started discussing transgender issues with LaBarbera calling it "the most awful, God-rejecting movement" and citing Chaz Bono, whom Wooden asserted was under "the influence of the Devil, demon spirits [and] spirits of perversion":

Patrick Wooden Warns that Gay Men Shove Cellphones, Baseball Bats and Animals up their Anuses, Die in Diapers

North Carolina activist Patrick Wooden has become a favorite of groups like the National Organization for Marriage, the Family Research Council and the American Family Association, and most recently joined Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality at a rally denouncing the Southern Poverty Law Center. On a recent appearance on LaBarbera’s radio show, Wooden called homosexuality a “wicked, deviant, immoral, self-destructive, anti-human sexual behavior” and should make people “literally gag.” Wooden added that gay men have “to wear a diaper or a butt plug just to be able to contain their bowels” by their “40s or 50s” as a result of “what happens to the male anus.”

Today, Wooden appeared on LaBarbera’s show and stood by his claims, going as far as to say that gay men regularly shove objects such as cellphones, baseball bats and animals up their anuses and that he personally knows a gay person who “literally died in diapers” because he “literally lost control of himself.”

Listen:

Wooden: I do not back off or back down from my statements at all. I was giving anecdotal examples that I am personally aware of that have happened as a result of men who have given themselves over to this lifestyle. One man past away, a friend of mine shared this information with me, that where what used to be his anus had become a gaping hole and he literally died in diapers, he literally lost control of himself. There are examples of men who have stretched their anuses, their sphincter muscles so that they could fit objects into themselves that once the sphincter muscle is stretched too much it will not contract. Because the truth is, despite the anger of the homosexual community, the anus is not a vagina. A vagina, a woman can give birth, God so designed it, the hips release can give birth to babies and things return back to normal. The anus doesn’t work that way; this is one of the reasons why many male homosexuals place larger and larger objects in their rectums.

I know of a case where in a hospital a homosexual male had a cellphone lodged in his anus and as they were operating on him the phone went off, the phone started ringing! There’ve been instances where men have put bats, baseball bats, in their rectums!

Even the homosexual lobby knows, those who are pro-homosexual, they know that they cannot win the argument describing what it is that these people actually do to each other, the objects, the animals in certain cases, the little gerbils; thank God I’m a human being! Because if you talk about what it is that these people actually do, they can’t win the argument.

Family Research Council Calls for God to 'Intervene' to Stop Marriage Equality in Washington

Yesterday, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins appeared downcast when discussing the likely passage of a marriage equality bill in Washington state, arguing that gays and lesbians “don’t want marriage” and will never “feel content” because there is an “emptiness within them.” Today, FRC’s National Prayer Director Pierre Bynum, who recently joined with Cindy Jacobs and Harry Jackson in intense prayer against marriage equality in Maryland, asked members to pray for God’s intervention to prevent the legalization of same-sex marriage in Washington, Maryland and New Jersey. Bynum praised New Jersey’s governor Chris Christie for promising to veto the marriage equality bill and called for God to “strengthen and reinforce the pro-family groups that are leading the fights to preserve natural marriage and to prevent same ‘sex-marriage.’”

State Marriage Fights Intense - Unless God intervenes, Governor Chris Gregoire will succeed in her effort to legalize same-sex "marriage" in Washington State. Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen (D) announced Monday that she will support the bill, making her's the 25th vote necessary for passage. "You are saying...you know better than God," said Pastor Ken Hutcherson of the Antioch Bible Church. The House is expected to pass the measure easily. Meanwhile, pro-family advocates in New Jersey are pleading for prayer from across the nation. Same-sex "marriage" advocates at the State House in Trenton outnumber those defending traditional marriage. Thankfully, Governor Christie has promised to veto legislation, but the legislature may well pass it with a veto-proof majority. In Maryland, a citizen rally to protest the legalization of homosexual "marriage" will be held outside the State House the evening of January 30th; the Senate Hearing will be on the 31st. May God strengthen and reinforce the pro-family groups that are leading the fights to preserve natural marriage and to prevent same-sex "marriage." May the people of each state rally to support God-given marriage and may God give supernatural assistance where it is needed! (Jdg 4:14-15; 5:12-15a; Neh 6:9; Ps 110:3; Is 41:10; Mt 19:6; Mk 10:9)

Citing Judges 4:14-15, Bynum likened their opposition to marriage equality to Barak’s fight against the Canaanite armies led by Sisera:

Then Deborah said to Barak, ‘Up! For this is the day on which the LORDhas given Sisera into your hand. The LORD is indeed going out before you.’ So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand warriors following him. And the LORD threw Sisera and all his chariots and all his army into a panic before Barak; Sisera got down from his chariot and fled away on foot.

Perkins: Gays won't be Happy with Marriage Equality because of an 'Emptiness within Them'

On Today’s Issues, a despondent Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council and Tim Wildmon of the American Family Association discussed the likely passage of a bill in Washington that will legalize same-sex marriage. Citing the stories of “ex-gays,” Perkins argued that gays and lesbians will always have “an emptiness within them” and will never be content with having the right to marry, as “they are operating outside of nature and outside of God’s plan and design.” He went on to say that gay rights advocates ultimately want “the indoctrination of our kids.” Perkins has previously said that gay youth are more likely to commit suicide not as a result of “inacceptance” but because they intuitively know they are “abnormal” and even blamed “the homosexual movement” for suicides.

Watch:

Wildmon: Do you really think though, and I think you spoke to this earlier program, that these people really care about getting married, that they really care? Or are they looking for societal approval of their behavior?

Perkins: I think it’s the latter. We’ve seen that even in the early states that had same-sex marriage, not many actually, there were some certainly but by and large they don’t, you can talk too many in the homosexual community, I mean you can Google it and read the interviews, a lot of them don’t want marriage. Not every person that identifies as a homosexual or a lesbian is an activist trying to redefine the laws. I do think and many of those who have come out of the homosexual lifestyle will tell you this that they are looking for acceptance, there is an emptiness within them, they are looking for that acceptance and they think that if society will redefine the norms of behavior that will make them feel content, and it won’t because they are operating outside of nature and outside of God’s plan and design. It will be something else next; redefining marriage will not be the end of this. We’re already seeing this in California, SB 48, the measure that took effect this month, now all of the “positive” contributions of those in the GBT, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender population have to be taught in the public schools, so it will be the indoctrination of our kids to teach them that homosexuality is normal.

Liberty Counsel Outraged by 'Censorship' and 'Indoctrination'

A recent issue of high school newspaper in Wisconsin featuring a pro-con editorial debate on the issue of adoption by gay couples is generating controversy due to the fact that the "con" side of the argument was filled with multiple passages calling homosexuality an "abomination" and citations of Bible verses calling for gays to be put to death:

For good measure, the author even managed to cram in a citation of notorious anti-gay "researcher" Paul Cameron

School officials have apologized for the piece and so, of course, the professional anti-gay bigots at Liberty Counsel are outraged and accusing the school of censorship:

In its statement, the school “sincerely apologized” -- not for allowing the topic to begin with, but rather, for the Biblical viewpoint presented by one student. The school claimed that the censored article created a “negative environment.” Liberty Counsel believes that school officials have violated the First Amendment protections of both free expression and religious freedom ... Steve Crampton, Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel for Liberty Counsel, commented: “When you censor one side of the debate and allow the other side to fully present their case, you have hopelessly skewed the argument and effectively endorsed one side. Shawano’s actions were not only unconstitutional, but were also the highest form of educational hypocrisy. This is not education, it is indoctrination. The school should apologize – not for the student’s viewpoint, but for its shameful censorship.”

Of course, as we have noted before, there is something rather ironic about people who work for an organization affiliated with a university that blocks access to critical newspapers and refuses to allow the formation of a Democratic Club on campus to be complaining about censorship and indoctrination.
