Anti-Muslim

Thomas More Law Center Names Michele Bachmann to Advisory Board

After adding Rep. Allen West to its advisory board, the Thomas More Law Center has found another rabidly anti-Muslim member of Congress to join its group: Michele Bachmann. The group, best known for its unsuccessful lawsuit against Planned Parenthood and the Shepard-Byrd hate crimes law as well as its botched defense of a Pennsylvania’s school’s Intelligent Design curriculum, as of late has tried to appeal to anti-Muslim sentiments. The group believes that Islam is trying to “destroy America,” demanded a state investigation into the sale of a school to a Muslim group, and thinks that a school teaching Arabic will train kids to become terrorists. When not attacking the rights of Muslim-Americans, the group warns that Christians will soon be imprisoned due to hate crimes laws and that the “homosexual agenda” will cause America to “disintegrate.”

Seeing that Michele Bachmann has built her career on anti-gay advocacy and is currently smearing Muslim-Americans in the Obama administration by calling for McCarthy-like investigations, it is no surprised that she has decided to work with the group in their fight against “the internal threat to America posed by radical Islam.”

In accepting service on the Advisory Board, Congresswoman Bachmann stated, "I am pleased to join forces with the Thomas More Law Center. They are in the courts aggressively fighting the internal threat to America posed by radical Islam."

Congresswoman Bachmann is a member of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. As a member of that Committee, she has steadfastly advocated for peace through strength to ensure America's national security.

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, commented, "We are honored to have the counsel of a tough, tested, true American patriot; a person who puts her country above politics, party and political correctness. She understands and shares our concerns about the internal threat to our nation posed by Stealth Jihad as well as maintaining the Judeo-Christian values that made this nation 'the shining city on the hill.'"

Michele Bachmann is the mother of five and the foster mother of 23. As a believer in the traditional values upon which this country was founded, she consistently defends traditional marriage, the importance of the family as the first unit of government, and the right to life for all Americans, including the unborn.

Bachmann expressed her strong commitment to America's Judeo-Christian heritage and values: "I am honored to stand with the Thomas More Law Center as they engage in the legal battles to uphold the Judeo-Christian values upon which our country was founded."

Fischer: 'Muslims are Worshiping a Demon'

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer yesterday defended Michele Bachmann against the criticism she has received for backing an anti-Muslim witch hunt, arguing that the issue has both political and spiritual dimensions since “Allah is an extremely powerful demon.” Fischer, who has previously said that Islam is “the spirit of Satan” and described Muslims as a “toxic cancer” who should be deported, said that “there’s no question that Muslims are worshiping a demon,” adding that he doesn’t “want to be hard on” Muslims since “they’ve been deceived.”

Listen:

Fischer: Allah is an extremely powerful demon. He is a demon God. What Muslims are worshiping is actually a demon. They think they are worshiping God, they’re deceived, they’ve been fooled, so I don’t want to be hard on them, the Muslims have been fooled, they’ve been lied to, they’ve been deceived, they think they are worshiping the true God but they are worshiping a demon-god, this is according to the New Testament. You may disagree with me but there is no question that this is what Christianity teaches. So it’s fine if you take a different view, that’s fine, you’re entitled to your view, this is America; we have freedom of speech and freedom of thought. But from a Christian stand point, from a New Testament stand point, there’s no question that Muslims are worshiping a demon. Allah is a demon God. Remember Jesus himself believed in the existence of Satan, he took Satan very seriously, Satan is a very real being according to the New Testament, he’s out there, not some kind of shadowy, vague, powerless figure but he is the dark ‘prince of the power of the air,’ as the New Testament describes him, so that’s who Muslims are worshiping.

Horowitz: Abedin May Have Been 'Given a Special Dispensation to Marry a Jew so She can Infiltrate our Government'

Commenting on the right-wing smear campaign targeting Huma Abedin, Adam Serwer noted that the people suggesting Abedin is a secret agent for the Muslim Brotherhood would “have to ignore her marriage to the ardently pro-Israel disgraced New York Congressman Anthony Weiner. (Of course: it's the perfect cover.)” But some anti-Muslim activists are actually using the “perfect cover” line to bolster their own arguments: David Horowitz told American Family Association president Tim Wildmon yesterday that Weiner has either “secretly converted to Islam or Huma Abedin has been given a special dispensation to marry a Jew so she can infiltrate our government.” He lamented Republican criticism of attacks on Abedin at a time when Democrats have already been “thoroughly infiltrated and defending the jihadists”:

Horowitz: The inquiry; the fact that Michele Bachmann has been attacked as she has by Republicans, and the two key ones are McCain and John Boehner, is terrible. It’s bad enough that the Democratic Party is thoroughly infiltrated and defending the jihadists, the Islamists. But that the Republican Party should be doing this as well, it’s disastrous.

Wildmon: Michele Bachmann, the congresswoman from Minnesota is being demonized in the national media and what is happened here is that—and I’ve read about this a year ago or so—Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, her right hand person, who is married to disgraced Anthony Weiner—

Horowitz: Anthony Weiner is a Jew. So according to Muslim law, either Anthony Weiner has secretly converted to Islam or Huma Abedin has been given a special dispensation to marry a Jew so she can infiltrate our government.

Horowitz also claimed that Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution is to blame for the rise of the “dangerous” left because it makes people want to seek change in the world they live in:

Horowitz: George Soros, who is an evil man, who has evil designs on this country, once said, he said he aspired to be the conscience of mankind. He knows that he’s a corrupt businessman who has caused a lot of pain and so he redeems himself by being the champion of the progressive future. That’s what it does for them. If you look at history you will see that all these ‘isms’—communism, socialism, Nazism—they all emerge after Darwin, that is after the decline of organized religion. They replace the religious vision of a redemption in the next life with a communist vision with a redemption in this life, and that is why they are so bloody dangerous.

Rep. Trent Franks Echoes Frank Gaffney Word for Word while Defending Anti-Muslim Witch Hunt

If you need any more evidence that anti-Muslim conspiracy theorist Frank Gaffney is influencing Republican members of Congress to push a witch hunt against Muslim-Americans public servants, look no further than Gaffney’s interview with Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) today on Secure Freedom Radio. Franks, who is partnering with Rep. Michele Bachmann in her effort to investigate a supposed “penetration” by the Muslim Brotherhood into the U.S. government has apparently adopted Gaffney’s specialty vocabulary. Gaffney regularly warns of “civilization jihad,” “lawfare” and “pre-violent” techniques in his conspiracy-laden diatribes against Muslims in government; in the interview today, Franks echoed back all three phrases.

Franks told Gaffney that Muslim Brotherhood agents are trying to use “use our laws and our commitment to freedom and freedom of speech, which we all believe in desperately, but they hide behind it to couch what otherwise might be called sedition.” Later, the congressman claimed that if people do not listen to his warnings about the Muslim Brotherhood, “then that little unpleasantness on 9/11 has completely gone over our heads.”

Listen:

Gaffney: The central thrust of this effort really is not just that the administration doesn’t seem to understand it but that they seem to be perhaps receptive but at least being seriously subjected to an influence operation by these Muslim Brotherhood operatives. To what extent is there in your estimation enough of a basis for concern that this is done in a systematic, disciplined, rigorous way, I guess the Brotherhood calls it civilization jihad, to warrant an investigation by these inspectors general as you’ve requested?

Franks: The bottom line is the same ideology that precipitated the planning of the attacks that we suffered on 9/11 is the same ideology that gives impulse or animates this pre-violent type of jihad where we face this civilizational jihad, I think you’ve used the term, and I think it’s a very, very accurate term of where they are trying to work within our own system. I hear the term lawfare quite a lot, where they use our laws and our commitment to freedom and freedom of speech, which we all believe in desperately, but they hide behind it to couch what otherwise might be called sedition and hide behind it and call it freedom of speech.

Gaffney: Or freedom of religion.

Franks: That’s probably the worst of all.

Franks: The bottom line is that these letters were about the Muslim Brotherhood and if we don’t have the Muslim Brotherhood figured out as a hostile organization in the United States then that little unpleasantness on 9/11 has completely gone over our heads and I find that astonishing beyond my ability to articulate.

Mitt Romney and America’s “Anglo-Saxon Heritage"

Mitt Romney traveled to Europe last night, and flew right into a political mess. Romney’s campaign is running away fast from a comment made by one of the candidate’s foreign policy advisers to Britain’s The Telegraph:

One of his advisers told Britain’s Daily Telegraph on Tuesday that Romney is better positioned than President Obama to foster a strong relationship with the U.K. because of his "Anglo-Saxon" connection to the country. "We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and he feels the relationship is special," the unnamed aide said of Romney. "The White House didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have."

The accusation that President Obama doesn’t appreciate America’s “Anglo-Saxon heritage” is a barely veiled racist attack against the president, not to mention the millions of Americans who are not descended from ancient Britons. Newt Gingrich was getting at the same thing when he accused the president of having a “Kenyan, anti-colonial” worldview. Mike Huckabee was too when he said Obama grew up near “madrassas” rather than “going to Boy Scout meetings.”

Unsurprisingly, the Romney campaign is now denying that the words were ever said (though they won’t specify by whom they were not said, nor have they asked for a retraction). I hope they’re telling the truth: the comment was massively offensive, and shouldn’t be coming from anywhere near a major political campaign. But the Romney campaign’s denials aren’t really letting the candidate off the hook. That sort of comment calls for a strong rebuke, not just a tepid denial.

But I’m not holding my breath. After all, when another Romney surrogate, former George H.W. Bush chief of staff John Sununu said the president needs to "learn how to be an American" – another appeal to the popular right-wing idea that the president is some sort of foreign imposter – Sununu attempted to walk back his own comment, but the campaign was silent.

As it happens, Romney is in a similar situation with another of his foreign policy advisers, former Bush administration official John Bolton who went on anti-Muslim activist Frank Gaffney’s radio show yesterday to defend Rep. Michele Bachmann’s attacks on Muslim-Americans working for the U.S. government. Bolton’s comments set him apart from prominent Republicans including John McCain and John Boehner, who have rebuked Bachmann’s witch hunt. Yet Romney, who apparently will be only appearing for photo ops in London tomorrow, hasn’t said a word.

Huma Abedin Conspiracies Get Weirder

The conspiracy theories about Huma Abedin’s marriage to former congressman Anthony Weiner keep getting weirder. Walid Shoebat, who according to the Center for American Progress [pdf] is a “former purported Islamic terrorist turned apocalyptic Christian,” recently told David Horowitz’s FrontPageMag that Abedin’s marriage to Weiner, who is Jewish, is either part of her Muslim Brotherhood espionage or shows that Weiner converted to Islam, or both:

It is extremely rare to have Muslim women marry non-Muslims, much less to have conservative Muslims look the other way, unless Huma has a “higher calling” and a unique exception was made for her, since she is an ear into top U.S. sensitive information, or Anthony Weiner has converted to Islam or even both.

On Monday, Shoebat told the American Family Association’s Sandy Rios that the rise of Muslim Brotherhood is all part of biblical prophecy and we are witnessing the birth pangs of the End Times:

He also claimed that Obama is assisting the Muslim Brotherhood and is “in bed with terrorists,” and that Michele Bachmann and Louie Gohmert, two of the five Republican congressmen who have accused Abedin of cooperating with the Muslim Brotherhood, are acting like modern day John the Baptist fighting today’s Herod:

Rios: Did you have any idea, even ten years ago or right after 9/11 that things would come to this dangerous state where we do have, and we’re going to talk about this, this incredible infiltration at the highest levels and no one would listen? Did you ever foresee this?

Shoebat: Yes, yes, of course I expected this. Americans had a test when the elections happened and the results were Obama. We’ve seen anybody, you know, who looks at Obama’s record, he was in bed with terrorists. People need to confront this issue once and for all, President Obama doesn’t have a clean record.

Rios: Should we be worried about Michele Bachmann and Louie Gohmert and all these letters? Should we defend them, what’s the point?

Shoebat: Well, I mean, if you look at the story of John the Baptist, John the Baptist was doing what? He was a symbol of the church. He was fighting against Herod, Herod was a symbol of the Antichrist, a symbol of the evil one. So what happened? He exposed Herod and he got his head chopped off. So there is a danger in fighting this but the church’s position is to expose and to fight for what is right.

Romney Adviser John Bolton Defends Michele Bachmann's Anti-Muslim Witch Hunt

Mitt Romney hasn’t yet publicly stated his view on the witch hunt against Muslim-Americans  in the Obama administration supported by Michele Bachmann. But today his foreign policy adviser, former Bush administration official John Bolton, defended Bachmann and her allies in an appearance on anti-Muslim, anti-Obama conspiracy theorist Frank Gaffney’s radio show. Bolton told Gaffney, a birther who helped stoke the witch hunt, that he was “mystified” by the criticism of Bachmann and that she was “simply raising the question.” Bachmann, for her part, is beyond raising questions: last week she declared that “there has been deep penetration in the halls of our United States government by the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Gaffney: John Bolton, one of the hot house issues in Washington at the moment that speaks to this point you just made about American decline and aiding and abetting our enemies under the Obama administration involves the Muslim Brotherhood. It’s not just that we’ve helped bring them to power in Egypt and are otherwise emboldening them, you mentioned that they are a likely successor to Bashar Assad in Syria. But here at home as well, five congresspeople including Michele Bachmann have been pressing for investigations into the extent to which some of these policies that we’ve been adopting, both abroad and here, might have something to do with influence operations aimed at and actually successfully inside the wire in our government. What do you make of this controversy and particularly the criticisms, the vicious criticisms, that have been mounted against these folks for their warnings from within their own ranks?

Bolton: I’ve been subject to how many security clearance procedures and I must say as irritating as some people may find them I think they are absolutely essential to making sure that people who work in sensitive positions in the national security field in our government are entirely loyal to the United States. I just think that’s an absolute, fundamental prerequisite. Now people find them intrusive, they find them inconvenient, my response is, that’s just too bad. What I think these members of Congress have done is simply raise the question, to a variety of inspectors general in key agencies, are your departments following their own security clearance guidelines, are they adhering to the standards that presumably everybody who seeks a security clearance should have to go through, are they making special exemptions? What is wrong with raising the question? Why is even asking whether we are living up to our standards a legitimate area of congressional oversight, why has that generated this criticism? I’m just mystified by it.

Gaffney: I think it has a lot to do with both shooting the messenger and trying to deflect attention from what is a huge, yawning and very serious vulnerability of this president, especially now as this election gets down to the clinches.

This leaves Bolton opposed to Republicans including John McCain, Marco Rubio, Scott Brown, John Boehner, Mike Rogers, Jim Sensenbrenner, and even Bachmann’s former campaign manager, all of whom have spoken out against Bachmann’s McCarthyism.

Earlier in the program, Bolton suggested that Obama’s speeches that have been “patriotic and laudatory of our troops” are only a campaign tactic. The president, he says, is “comfortable with the decline of American influence in the world.”

Bolton: He’s realized he is in the middle of a very closely fought election campaign and suddenly the rhetoric is patriotic and laudatory of our troops. But the fact is his policies have cost the United States around the world, he has withdrawn combat forces from Iraq, he plans to do it from Afghanistan, the rest of the world sees an American retreat, the budget sequestration mechanism on top of the nearly a trillion dollars of cuts and defense spending that Obama himself imposed, I think even his own defense secretary said would cripple our military. We are in very grave shape and yet the president, as he has done consistently on economic or foreign policy, talks about doing the exact opposite of what his policies are and of course the media give him a free pass on it. Nobody should be under any illusions, this is a president comfortable with the decline of American influence in the world and he is watching it happen.

Gaffney: Well, I would argue he is accelerating it at every turn.

Frank Gaffney Gushes over Bachmann, 'America's Iron Lady'

Apparently, pushing a McCarthyite witch hunt against Muslim-Americans serving in the Obama administration is an act of great courage and valor, at least according to the anti-Muslim activist who helped push Michele Bachmann and four Republican allies to send letters to inspectors general — which were rejected — demanding investigations into a number of administration staffers. The Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney, who yesterday warned about “an effort to demonize and take down” Bachmann, took to the Washington Times to praise the Minnesota congresswoman as “America’s Iron Lady,” akin to Margaret Thatcher.

Gaffney also criticized those who called Bachmann’s assertions “dangerous or baseless,” saying, “their authority on the matter must be questioned.” He must therefore question the authority of Speaker John Boehner, House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Rogers, House Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security Subcommittee Chair Jim Sensenbrenner, and the many other Republicans who have denounced Bachmann’s accusations.

Lady Thatcher’s partner in dispatching that toxic ideology to the “ash heap of history,” Ronald Reagan, famously declared in 1961 — at a time when the USSR was still very much a going concern — that “freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” Today, it is threatened by another totalitarian ideology that some have aptly described as “communism with a god”: the supremacist Islamic doctrine known as Shariah.

Fortunately, it turns out that as we confront our time’s most imminent threat to freedom, we have found America’s Iron Lady: Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota. Her Thatcheresque qualities are evident in the fearless and visionary leadership she is providing in opposing Shariah’s most formidable champions, the Muslim Brotherhood.

In particular, Mrs. Bachmann’s training as a tax attorney has prepared her well for the painstaking business of studying and mastering arcane organizational, financial and other relationships that are at the core of the stealthy subversion the Muslim Brotherhood calls “civilization jihad.” Her experience raising 28 kids, counting her own and foster children, has steeled her against the name-calling and worse that have met her efforts to bring those skills to bear to expose and defeat the jihadists, wherever they may be.

With respect to efforts to dismiss as dangerous or baseless concerns about a possible, far larger problem with individuals who have connections to the Muslim Brotherhood shaping U.S. policy toward that organization and enabling its rising power, what can one say? There is abundant evidence that indicates such concerns are warranted. Until the critics — on Capitol Hill, in the media and elsewhere — perform the sort of due diligence that has characterized the approach taken by Mrs. Bachmann and her colleagues, their authority on the matter must be questioned.

Bachmann Backers Play Victim Card in Wake of Backlash

It was only a matter of time before Michele Bachmann’s allies tried to play the victim following the backlash against her latest conspiratorial witch hunt, this time focusing on Muslim-Americans serving in the Obama administration. Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy, who helped launch the attacks on Sec. Hillary Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin and whose report Bachmann and four other Republican members cite in their letters to the inspectors general, spoke today with David Bossie of the right-wing group Citizens United to defend the witch hunt.

Bossie said that Bachmann’s main problem was naming Abedin in the State Department letter, which was rebuffed by the inspector general, when she should have tried to “name her without naming her.” He claimed that people are attacking Bachmann because she tries “to defend our freedoms” and represents a “danger” to their nefarious plans. Gaffney, who has made a career disparaging people like Abedin and even conservatives such as Grover Norquist, lamented that there is “an effort to demonize and take down” Bachmann.

Bossie: These five members of Congress led by Michele Bachmann, because they just hate her so, because they just have this natural desire to attack her at every turn because she’s decided to pick up a weapon and stand a post, she decided that she was going to defend our freedoms at every turn for many years. So certainly if I was in her camp, would I have said ‘hey let’s ask these questions, let’s do all this without putting a staffer’s name in it,’ because as a former staffer, as a guy who was the chief investigator for Congress during the ’90s and somebody who investigated the Clinton’s relentlessly and whose name was in letters like this all the time from the left, Republicans stood tall for me at every turn because members didn’t like members picking on staffers, at least how it’s presumed. So you could see how that could be perceived. I would have probably said, ‘let’s name her without naming her,’ that’s one way to solve what potentially happened.

But they want to attack Michele Bachmann for what is really an oversight in my opinion by naming her, but they want to attack her because she’s been a leader against the Muslim Brotherhood, against radical Islam, for the last four years that she has been in the House of Representatives and they see her as a danger, as a leader who is dangerous in their pursuits.

Gaffney: That’s the point. It’s really an effort to demonize and take down, if they can, a formidable political adversary in Michele Bachmann.

If Bachmann really was the courageous leader that Bossie and Gaffney described, it’s hard to see why she literally ran away from a CNN reporter who was asking her questions about the letters, and if people are only criticizing Bachmann because they detest her attempts to “defend our freedoms,” then leading Republicans like John McCain, Marco Rubio, John Boehner and Mike Rogers must be included on that list.

Bossie also took to Politico to defend the congresswoman and her Republican allies, saying they “should be applauded for their letter and be regarded as patriots”:

The inspectors general should absolutely investigate whether individuals with associations with the Muslim Brotherhood are contributing to the adoption of policies that favor an organization that poses a threat to national security. The Muslim Brotherhood is the driving force behind the effort to impose a totalitarian ideology it calls “shariah.” During the Obama presidency, the Brotherhood has made huge strides towards achieving its goal in the Middle East.

Unfortunately, as is made clear in their own documents – specifically a strategic plan introduced into evidence in the 2008 Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terrorism financing prosecution in our nation’s history – the Muslim Brotherhood also has as its goal “destroying Western civilization from within.” This goal is being pursued via what the Brothers call a stealthy “civilization jihad” that involves, among other techniques, gaining access to and influencing government agencies.

It is not McCarthyism to state these irrefutable facts. Neither are requests by members of Congress seeking, through the appropriate formal channels, to establish whether the Muslim Brotherhood has gained a foothold and legitimacy – especially in light of the adoption of Brotherhood-friendly policies by the Obama Administration. These are absolutely legitimate and necessary questions because of the stakes for our national security.

Far from being criticized or suppressed by America’s elites and politically correct police, Reps. Bachmann, Gohmert, Franks, Westmoreland and Rooney should be applauded for their letter and be regarded as patriots.

PFAW Calls on Speaker Boehner to Remove Michele Bachmann from Intelligence Committee

Washington, DC -- People For the American Way is calling on House Speaker John Boehner to remove Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and two other members from their seats on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence after a series of irresponsible allegations against U.S. government employees.

Intelligence Committee members Bachmann, Rep. Lynn Westmoreland and Rep. Thomas Rooney were among the five Republican representatives to sign a letter to federal agencies baselessly alleging that a number of public servants, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin, have ties to the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood. The letter relied largely on phony information peddled by anti-Muslim activist Frank Gaffney.

Last week, Speaker Boehner called the accusations “pretty dangerous,” but refused to say whether he’d remove Bachmann and the others from the Intelligence Committee. Abedin has reportedly been placed under police protection after receiving a threat over the weekend.

“Michele Bachmann has never been a model of responsibility, but this latest attack is one step too far,” said Michael Keegan, President of People For the American Way. “Members of the House Intelligence Committee are entrusted with classified information that affects the safety and security of all Americans. That information should not be in the hands of anyone with such a disregard for honesty, misunderstanding of national security, and lack of respect for her fellow public servants.

“Speaker Boehner was right to call out Rep. Bachmann’s dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric. Now he should act on those words.”

PFAW’s Right Wing Watch has put together a brief history of Rep. Bachmann's conspiracy theories.

Tea Party Nation Defends Bachmann's Anti-Muslim Witch Hunt

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s witch hunt against Muslim-Americans working in government, specifically Hillary Clinton’s deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin, has been denounced by not only Democrats like Keith Ellison but also top Republicans such as John McCain, John Boehner, Marco Rubio, Scott Brown and even her former campaign manager. But at least Bachmann still has support from Tea Party Nation head Judson Phillips, who said in an email to members today that “John McCain needs to sit down and shut up.” Phillips also claimed while “Islam is our enemy” the Obama administration has listed “potential terrorists as Tea Party supporters.”

Michele Bachmann is a lightning rod for controversy. But there is an interesting point to all of it. Controversy always swirls around her when she is standing up for the truth. What is she doing now that is causing controversy and why is she right?

Michele Bachmann called for an investigation into the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamists who are influencing American policy.

Unfortunately some Republicans, the drive by media and Islamist sympathizers have changed the story to where it is not about the Muslim Brotherhood, a known terrorist organization, but to a story about Huma Abedin.

The Obama Regime releases report after report that names potential terrorists as Tea Party supporters, those who oppose the Obama Regime and those who advocate closing the borders and stopping illegal immigration.

Yet they will not even use the word Islam when they describe terrorism.

The fact is Islam is our enemy. Islam is a theocracy. It is not consistent with a Western Democracy. Islam demands its adherents overthrow a non-Islamic government and replace it with an Islamic government.

This has been the story of Islam wherever it has gained power for the last fifteen hundred years.

During the Cold War, Communists and Soviet sympathizers were not allowed into sensitive positions in government, except of course during Democrat administrations. When we have Islamist groups, such as the Muslim Brotherhood that want to replace our Democracy with a theocracy and this is their avowed goal, what the hell are we doing letting them anywhere near the door?

John McCain needs to sit down and shut up. Perhaps he should buy a clue about a subject before he starts talking about it.

The Islamist threat to America and to freedom is real. The question is are we going to deal with it before we are attacked again?

Pat Robertson: Dump Your Muslim Girlfriend

A 700 Club viewer asked Pat Robertson today if he should marry his Muslim girlfriend of three years even though he is a Christian, to which Robertson responded, “no way.” “She wants to do her Muslim thing and you want to do your Christian thing,” Robertson said, “walk away.” He urged him to pray for her to become a Christian, “and if that doesn’t work say, ‘I’m sorry, good bye.’” Robertson, who is no fan of Muslims, explained that it isn’t necessarily Christ-like to be “nice and friendly” as “he’s not gentle Jesus, meek and mild, he really isn’t.”

Representative Ellison Responds to Republican Islamophobia

Sharia law and the Muslim Brotherhood are coming! Clearly that idea is ridiculous. Not even Rep. Michelle Bachmann believes that. She believes they are already here! On June 13, Bachmann, along with fellow Republican congressmen Trent Franks, Louie Gohmert, Thomas Rooney, and Lynn Westmoreland, sent a letter to the Inspectors General of the Departments of State, Justice, and Homeland Security, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, claiming that the Muslim Brotherhood has “operatives” within the US government. The letter attempts to link Muslim governmental officials to the Muslim Brotherhood and defames a number of American Muslim organizations.

Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, responded to the egregious accusations in an open letter today. Ellison points out that Bachmann and her allies took many of their claims from MuslimBrotherhoodinAmerica.com, a website run by anti-Muslim activist Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy. Gaffney has a history of making unsubstantiated claims about Muslims, a number of which Ellison lists in his letter. For instance, Gaffney has claimed that Muslim Americans who run for office do so to wage “stealth jihad” and has “accused New Jersey Governor Chris Christie of ‘corruption’ and ‘treason’ for appointing a Muslim lawyer to be a judge.” At the end of the letter, Ellison requests a list of all the sources Bachmann used to make these serious claims and asks that if the sources turn out to not be credible that the names of all accused be publicly cleared.

It would be nice if Ellison’s letter put an end to the fear tactics and Islamophobic statements that have become far too common in the Republican Party, but that’s sadly unlikely. Republicans, whose main focus is clearly the economy, somehow seem to find a new Sharia threat each election year. Has it really been two years since we first heard about the Park 51 Muslim Community Center?

Gaffney: Obama Advancing Sharia Law and the 'Radical Homosexual Agenda' in the Military

Frank Gaffney is out with another extremist anti-gay and anti-Muslim rant, writing in the Washington Times today that President Obama intends to ruin the military. He said that Obama is intentionally “losing wars” and trying to “throw in the towel,” which will be “a formula for disaster,” while at the same time make the military submit to the “doctrine of Shariah” and become “a vehicle for advancing the radical homosexual agenda.” Obama’s policies will precipitate “the collapse of the all-volunteer force, as many of those who are serving decline to do so and fewer and fewer new, high-quality recruits enlist,” Gaffney concludes:

Unfortunately, under President Obama, service members’ rising fears of being prosecuted for acting to protect themselves and their missions are among many ways in which the military is being “fundamentally transformed,” to use Mr. Obama’s now-infamous turn of phrase. Consider a few examples:

Losing wars: Few things can have a more corrosive effect on the morale and esprit de corps of the armed forces than being ordered to participate in and sacrifice - not least by risking life and limb - in protracted conflicts, only to have political authorities throw in the towel. Add in the repeated combat tours pulled by many service members, with all that entails for both them and their families, and you have a formula for disaster for the U.S. military.

Worse yet, our troops are seen by the enemy in these and other ways to be submitting to the latter’s doctrine of Shariah. According to that supremacist code, its adherents are compelled, when confronted with evidence they are winning, to redouble their efforts to make us feel subdued. This generally translates into more violence against our troops and us, not less.

Assault on the culture of the military: Last, but not least, President Obama’s use of the military as a vehicle for advancing the radical homosexual agenda in the larger society has demonstrated for many in uniform civilian indifference to the unique attributes of the armed forces. That message can only have been reinforced by the Supreme Court’s ruling allowing fraudulent claims to military decorations as protected free speech.

Unfortunately, these sorts of assaults on the U.S. military are likely to “fundamentally transform” it, all right. Perhaps that transformation will manifest itself, among other ways, by precipitating the collapse of the all-volunteer force, as many of those who are serving decline to do so and fewer and fewer new, high-quality recruits enlist. We can ill afford such an Obama legacy in an increasingly dangerous world.

Boykin: Obama Administration has Shown 'Support for the Infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood into our Government'

Jerry Boykin spent his July 4 holiday by chatting with Frank Gaffney for an hour about the supposed rise of Islamic extremists within the U.S. government and accused Sec. Hillary Clinton’s deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin of participating in a Muslim Brotherhood plot “to penetrate our government.” He maintained that not only is the Obama administration showing a “willful blindness” to the penetration but also insisted that “there is support for the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood into our government”:

Boykin: I would not begin to try and explain the actions of the administration because it is beyond anything that I can possibly claim. Secondly, Huma [Abedin] is not the only person who has penetrated our government and if you go back to the explanatory memorandum that is in our book, Sharia: The Threat, which was discovered in Annandale, Virginia in the archives of the Muslim Brotherhood, one of their strategies was to penetrate our government and they have done so. If my mother or father was a known member of the Muslim Brotherhood it is highly unlikely that I would ever be able to get a security clearance so you have to ask yourself, why is this individual able to do that when no one else can possibly do that. So there is a willful blindness to what is happening. I believe in some aspects of this situation there is support for the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood into our government, that sounds extremist but it is just a fact, it’s a reality.

But apparently it is not only the Obama White House which has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood as later, Boykin, who like Gaffney believes that conservative activist Grover Norquist is a “Muslim Brotherhood facilitator,” claims that the Bush administration also faced a Muslim Brotherhood infiltration. He expressed hope that Rep. Frank Wolf, who has denounced Norquist’s “unsavory” connections, will investigate Norquist’s purported Muslim Brotherhood ties:

Gaffney: There actually was a similar effort made to penetrate the conservative movement and Republican Party circles, including the administration, for that matter the 2000 campaign of George W. Bush. What do we know about how this came about and its implications?

Boykin: Yes, you’re right Frank. This penetration of our government at the highest levels did not begin with the Obama administration, if you go back to the 2000 campaign the Islamic vote went predominately to George W. Bush, now someone had to orchestrate that. Recently, within the last three months, Rep. Frank Wolf has called into question Grover Norquist, for not only his association with [Jack] Abramoff but also for his association with questionable groups within the Muslim community, particularly those that are identified as being with the Muslim Brotherhood. I think it’s easily justified to say that he was a very large part of bringing the Islamic vote to George W. Bush in 2000. Now that did not happen in 2004, as a result of the response to 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq, but I think that just as Rep. Wolf said, I think we have to look very hard at Grover Norquist and ask what his role in all of this has been.

Gaffney: I certainly agree. It’s deeply troubling that Grover Norquist and one of his folks with the Muslim Brotherhood associations, Suhail Kahn, have been active even to this day in conservative circles, serving at the moment at the board of the American Conservative Union.

Kamal Saleem: 'Islamist Lobbyists are Bringing Billions of Dollars to our Government and Buying Politics'

Kamal Saleem has promulgated some of the craziest and wild conspiracies so it is difficult to take the phony “ex-terrorist” seriously, but since Religious Right leaders continue to rely on the hoaxer for their anti-Muslim activism, he can’t be easily ignored. Liberty Counsel chairman Mat Staver hosted Saleem on Faith & Freedom this week where he maintained that radical Muslims are plotting to takeover America’s religious, education, medical, financial and political fields until “Islam will be the only religion that will be practiced in the United States of America and the White House and all this will be Islamist”:

The invasion that we are seeing today, it’s mandated by their own Sharia law, that they have to do so and the way that they are here today in the United States of America they have infiltrated to every level. The head of the Muslim Brotherhood said we are not here to be equal to the American people or to their belief but to be the highest order, where Islam will be the only religion that will be practiced in the United States of America and the White House and all this will be Islamist. In doing so, what happened is the agenda is to infiltrate the highest rank of this government, the political arena, the education arena, the banking arena, the medical arena, all the other facets of what make America, America. With this they have penetrated the religious sector and they have penetrated also the government today, Islamist lobbyists are bringing billions of dollars to our government and buying politics, and you know, politicians. The education system has been shifted because now the Islamic centers are being opened specifically in all the Ivy League universities in the United States of America to create the curriculum for our students from kindergarten all the way to university level.

Nobody is stopping them, you know, in this current political time and leadership. So therefore what happened is that’s why they are advancing in many different ways, specifically in the education, where they are changing the future, and also in the medical arena where they are concentrating on changing and bringing all the natural resources in America to be owned by Islamists so there will be co-dependency on Muslim power.

The Craziest Right-Wing Conference Yet

Cliff Kincaid of the conservative organizations Accuracy In Media and America’s Survival is spearheading a conference this Summer outlining the supposed connections between radical Islamists, communists, and President Obama. The National Press Club summit plans to fulfill “the late Andrew Breitbart’s promise to finally ‘vet’ the president” by exposing the “diabolical dangers of Marxism and radical Islam” and “the shocking truth about Obama and his agenda to emerge.” Speakers include Ryan Mauro of the Clarion Fund, the anti-Muslim group which gained notoriety when the NYPD used one of their films in trainings, along with Joel Gilbert, who is making a film claiming that Frank Marshall Davis is Obama’s real father. Fittingly, the website for the event is LeninAndSharia.com:

Topics include: Obama's Saudi connection, Muslim communism, the Marxist-Islamist nexus, communist exploitation of blacks, Soros funding of Marxist groups, the dangers of foreign propaganda channels like Al-Jazeera and Russia Today, and the War on Cops

• Cliff Kincaid, President, America’s Survival, Inc. Director, AIM Center for Investigative Journalism, on “Lenin and Sharia: the Diabolical Threat.”

• Paul Kengor, author of the new book, The Communist: Frank Marshall Davis, the Untold Story of Barack Obama's Mentor.

• Joel Gilbert, director, “Dreams from My Real Father,” on Frank Marshall Davis as Obama’s real father

• Konstantin Preobrazhensky, former Soviet KGB officer, on “Communists and Muslims.”

• Ryan Mauro, National Security Analyst, RadicalIslam.org / Clarion Fund, on “The War on the New York City Police Department.”

• Jeremy Segal, blogger who captured Obama ally Rep. Danny K. Davis on film discussing his acceptance of an award from the Communist Party USA.

• Larry Grathwohl, former FBI informant in the Weather Underground, on “Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn and the ‘Race Course Against White Supremacy.’”

• Trevor Loudon, author, Barack Obama and the Enemies Within, on Alice Palmer, the neglected communist agent in Obama’s life

Bachmann Says Obama 'Spit at the Constitution'; Warns the Muslim Brotherhood 'Penetrated' Government

Michele Bachmann took her propensity for promoting conspiracy theories to another level this week while speaking with the American Family Association’s Sandy Rios, after warning of not just a media plot to use “flattery” to sway the Supreme Court decision on health care reform but also new claims about the Obama administration and the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood. She told Rios that Obama undercut the Magna Carta and “spit at the Constitution and at the will of the American people” with his move to block the deportation of some younger undocumented immigrants, proving that he is “the most dangerous President we have ever had in the history of the United States.” Bachmann, who last year said Americans were concerned about “the rise of the Soviet Union,” also criticized Obama for having “whispered to the Russian, Communist president that he would be more flexible in his second term.”

Rios: They said that even if the mandate is struck down they are going to keep other parts of it, what’s your comment about that? What do you know about that?

Bachmann: That was already violated last Friday when President Obama said that he was not going to enforce the law when it came to illegal immigration for people of a certain age. This President is not bound by the law; this is huge. Even King John under the Magna Carta had to be bound by the law, that’s what it said, that the King is under the law, that’s the essence of the Magna Carta and the very earliest form of Western, English law. But Barack Obama is not. Barack Obama sees that he is the law. That’s unbelievable. And so if the President is saying that if the Supreme Court is striking down the law and yet he is going to ignore the court and continue to put this unconstitutional law in place? That tells us who he is.

Remember, this is the same President who whispered to the Russian, Communist president that he would be more flexible in his second term. He sees himself as a law unto himself rather than a man bound by the Constitution. That’s why I say he is the most dangerous President we have ever had in the history of the United States.

When I look at the sacrifice that was made to this country, I’m absolutely outraged that a President would continue to spit at the Constitution and at the will of the American people and instead insist on his own way. This has been infantile the way that this President has governed. We better do something about it, rather than just shaking our heads, it’s time for us to stand up and actually do something between now and November when we have a chance.

Later in the interview, Bachmann insisted that “there has been deep penetration in the halls of our United States government by the Muslim Brotherhood” and that security agents are no longer allowed to learn about terrorist attacks, apparently referring to efforts to stop using discredited, anti-Muslim material.

Bachmann: It appears that there has been deep penetration in the halls of our United States government by the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood has been found to be an unindicted co-conspirator on terrorism cases and yet it appears that there are individuals who are associated with the Muslim Brotherhood who have positions, very sensitive positions, in our Department of Justice, our Department of Homeland Security, potentially even in the National Intelligence Agency. I am calling upon the Justice Department and these various departments to investigate through the Inspector General to see who these people are and what access they have to our information.

There is also another issue that is going on that doesn’t get talked about at all in the media and it is very sensitive. We currently have orders by President Obama for a purge in the FBI and now in the military of any training materials that teach FBI agents or people in the military about Islam and these materials are being purged. So the motivations behind terrorism and the understanding of the ideology of why people are committing terrorist acts, that is being purged out of the training materials. There was a request for this to be done by over forty Muslim groups and the President ordered this purge to occur and it’s happening now, they are purging libraries. We have other governments that have censored libraries but not the American government, now the American government is purging in the libraries in the FBI and in our military any training materials that could in any way be construed as negative about Islam.

Rios: Let me jump in and let me just say that also the trainers, many that you and I know, that are the experts on this issue are being blackballed from the Pentagon and from FBI training because they hold the wrong view.

Bachmann: That’s right. They are being blacklisted. Your listeners need to know, the experts that are training our FBI to find these terrorists, those experts are being blackballed and they are no longer allowed to teach our FBI agents. I am standing outside right now in front of our United States Capitol and a few months ago an illegal alien strapped a bomb onto himself and he was going to blow up the Capitol, and now our new agents are unable to learn that information.

Pamela Geller Calls for the Repeal of the Religious Land Use Act so Muslim-Americans Can't Use It

Back in 2010, Kyle noted that the American Center for Law and Justice was organizing a campaign to stop the construction of the Park 51 Islamic Community Center near Ground Zero while simultaneously championing the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, which they praised for making sure that never again will “our nation's houses of faith have their freedom to worship where and how they choose violated by ignorant or hostile zoning officials.” Now it appears that Pamela Geller, who worked alongside ACLJ executive director Jordan Sekulow against the establishment of Park 51, wants to repeal the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act altogether because it might benefit Muslim worshipers.

While speaking with conservative radio host Janet Mefferd yesterday, Geller called for the repeal of RLUIPA because “it’s become a weapon in which to club small towns and cities” where Muslims are seeking to establish mosques, lamenting, “the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.” She said that Muslims are “dishonest” with local governments by “circumventing the rules” on capacity requirements because they pray on their knees. Geller said that RLUIPA must be repealed for the sake of the “freedom from religion,” a phrase normally anathema to Religious Right audiences.

Mefferd: You had talked about the necessity of repealing the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, I guess this is what Holder is using to pressure this Virginia board of supervisors to approve this mega-mosque, what is this Act and why is it necessary?

Geller: It’s not necessary, frankly. I urge the repeal of this Act. I’m not sure who it was, I could have it wrong, I don’t know if it was Orrin Hatch, this is not a finger pointing kind of a thing, it’s more ‘the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.’ It was unnecessary, it was an idea that there should be no religious persecution of houses of worship and so on and so forth, and that was all well and good, but it’s become a weapon in which to club small towns and cities.

Look, no one is saying that you can’t build a mosque, even with the Ground Zero Mosque; there are hundreds of mosques in New York City, we know there are thousands of mosques nationwide, but these giant structures, they completely change the complexion of a town. It could be a small town, residential. I’m telling you I have seen it time and time again, irrecognizable three to five years later. The call to prayer, the parking, hundreds of people. Again, there is an element of dishonesty here because as you know in Islam they got on their knees so you don’t count a chair with that. But it’s important because it’s a way of circumventing the rules, you can’t say ‘it seats 500 or it seats whatever.’ It’s not just freedom of religion here in America, it’s also freedom from religion here in America.

Allen West's "American Way'

Congressman Allen West (R-FL) is out with a new ad this week. Set to soaring, dramatic music, the Congressman tells the story of his upbringing and how describes how his father gave him the opportunity live the American Dream. He runs through typical Republican talking points calling for tax cuts and slashing services, and laments the failings of Washington. It’s standard campaign-ad fare, and he concludes by stating “I’m just getting started; that’s the American Way.”

However, West’s record suggests that his notion of the “American Way” is rather at odds with the Constitution’s promise of freedom and equality for all.

The First Amendment guarantees the freedom of religion for all Americans, and Article VI of the Constitution states that “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.” But West thinks that Representative Keith Ellison (D-MI), a practicing Muslim, represents the "antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established." He also harbors some vehemently anti-Islamic ideas.

America is a country that values free speech and open debate. Yet West has a habit of resorting to calling his colleagues who disagree with him Communists. Liberals, he said, can just “Get the hell out of the United States of America.”

Freedom of the press doesn’t seem to be high on his list either. He once called for censoring American news agencies for publishing information about the government’s activities.

West believes America is a land of opportunity – something to which he owes his own success – but “equality” and “fairness” somehow fly in the face of liberty. Marriage equality, he says, is not only un-American but will destroy society as we know it.

Congressman West may have produced a slick ad, but the agenda he pushes in Congress would increase inequality, harm working families, destroy core constitutional liberties and cripple Americans’ ability to address pressing problems through government. That’s not the American Way.
