Election 2012

Staver Blames Romney for Gay Marriage Wins, Blasts Fox News

On today's "Faith and Freedom" radio program, Mat Staver insisted that Americans in general still oppose marriage equality, despite the recent election results in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington and basically blamed Mitt Romney's refusal to campaign on the issue for the losses, as well as his own election loss.

Staver said that had Romney campaigned on the issue, his support would have gone up as would support for the anti-marriage efforts before blasting conservative pundits who are now saying the GOP needs to distance itself from the social issues culture war, declaring "I'm fed up with people on Fox News, whether it's Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly; they think they just know everything":

Farah: America is about to be 'Destroyed by God'

WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah has been beside himself over the President Obama’s election victory, writing that his re-election is proof that the U.S. is “where ancient Israel was before being destroyed by God.” He now claims that “the election, whether it was the result of voter fraud or stupidity or both, suggests America is turning rapidly away from God,” and now “we are in full apostasy boogie.”

Do you want to know where America is today in historical and biblical terms? It’s where ancient Israel was before being destroyed by God.

In Hosea 8, God speaks to the prophet about the precipice on which Israel stands: “They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.”

We are in full apostasy boogie.

We have left our Judeo-Christian roots, values and heritage and are pursuing other gods. We think we’re too sophisticated for accountability to God.

God’s laws and judgments are, well, too judgmental for a secular and advanced society like America’s.

Nevertheless, the election, whether it was the result of voter fraud or stupidity or both, suggests America is turning rapidly away from God.

In America we are not only repeating the ancient vows, we are re-enacting the plot. We are indeed setting up kings, without regard to God. We are making princes who He knows not. And we are making idols of material things, so that we may be cut off.

Lord help us.

Rodriguez: Blacks and Latinos Not Voting with a 'Christian Worldview'; Gay Marriage will Force us to 'Surrender Christianity'

Samuel Rodriguez has appointed himself to be the spokesman for all Hispanic-Americans, telling Republican leaders that Latinos are just itching to vote for Republicans if only they put a greater emphasis on their anti-choice and anti-gay positions while moderating their rhetoric around immigration.

During an interview on BreakPoint, Rodriguez described a meeting with Karl Rove where they predicted that the majority of Latino voters will back Republicans, a political prognostication that has been proven very wrong, and found it completely inconceivable that any Christian would support Democratic candidates over Republicans. He reasoned that the GOP “provoked the Hispanic community to go and vote for a party that does not affirm the values of life and the strengthening of marriage that Hispanics hold as sacred values” by not supporting immigration reform during Bush’s second term. “The Democratic platform does not resonate or reflect the core values of the Hispanic-American community; that’s not anecdotal that is a matter of quantitative fact,” he said.

But as we’ve noted before, a majority of Latinos support a woman’s right to choose and marriage equality.

He went on to say that Latinos (and African Americans) are backing Democrats by wide margins because “we vote our ethnicity” and “vote our cultural heritage rather than our Christian worldview,” contradicting his claim that Latino culture makes them Republicans.

The Democratic platform does not resonate or reflect the core values of the Hispanic-American community, that’s not anecdotal that is a matter of quantitative fact. Every single survey, even the recent Barna survey, reaffirms that finding. The fact of the matter is, the disconnect exists because of the rhetoric. Forty-four percent of Hispanics supported George W. Bush in 2004, forty-four percent. Karl Rove and I sat down and we predicted in 2006 that in 2008 fifty-two percent of Hispanics would go GOP, and for at least a generation that number would continue to go up. Then came immigration reform, and at the end of the day that sort of ‘we don’t know whether this party really wants us’ provoked the Hispanic community to go and vote for a party that does not affirm the values of life and the strengthening of marriage that Hispanics hold as sacred values.

I have to say this to ethnic communities: putting President Obama aside, the African American and the Latino community, we suffer from what I call vertical myopia. That is to say that many of us go to the voting booth and we vote our ethnicity, rather than our Christian worldview. I find that to be a problem, as a believer, as a follower of Christ, as a born again Christian, I find it to be a significant problem biblically and theologically, when we vote our cultural heritage rather than our Christian worldview.

Rodriguez also claimed that Obama’s second term will bring about a “greater erosion of our religious liberties” and even charged that under the Obama administration, “Christians that stand up for biblical marriage will be continued to be labeled with a de facto sort of federal endorsement as bigoted and homophobic” if they do not “surrender Christianity on the altar of political expediency.”

I think we’re going to see greater erosion of our religious liberties. I think we’re going to see those Christians that stand up for biblical marriage will be continued to be labeled with a de facto sort of federal endorsement as bigoted and homophobic. I think the war on the biblical doctrine of marriage will continue to increase. At the end of the day, it’s going to prompt the Christian community to say: is this the generation that will surrender Christianity on the altar of political expediency or will we activate or engage in a prophetic posture?

James Dobson Gives Away the Game, Admits the National Day of Prayer Task Force Prayed for Obama's Defeat

Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, now the host of Family Talk, admitted on his radio program today that the National Day of Prayer Task Force, chaired by his wife Shirley Dobson, were praying for Obama to be defeated on Election Day. Religious Right activists have lambasted Obama with false smears that he had “cancelled” the National Day of Prayer and defended the event as “not politically inclined,” even though it regularly hosted anti-Obama speakers like David Jeremiah and Harry Jackson and both Dobsons are closely tied to the GOP. But during an interview with Concerned Women for America president Penny Nance, Dobson gave away the game and said that his wife and Task Force vice-chair John Bornschein put together an election season prayer effort that they hoped will defeat Obama.

Dobson: Many, many, many Christians were praying and we really need to address that issue first: where was God? Because there were these ’40 Days of Prayer,’ there were several of those that took place, where people fasted and prayed for forty days asking the Lord for His intervention on Election Day. We did a program last week where my wife Shirley came in with her vice-chairman John Bornschein and told how three hundred Gideon prayer warriors came to Washington, went to every single office of the House of Representatives and the Senate and prayed for the occupant, prayed for our representatives, went to the White House, went in a vigil to the Supreme Court, which is now at great risk, and went to the Pentagon. People like that were praying all over this country and the Lord said no.

Nance: He said no.

Later in the interview, Dobson lamented that we “we lost this election” because God “said no” and warned we are now living in a “time of judgment.” Nance even raised doubts about Obama’s Christian faith as she said that God can still “use this President” just as He has “used people who were not believers and were not followers of the Lord or followers of the God throughout the Bible to do his work.”

Dobson: Because we lost this election does not mean that the Lord has turned His back on us. I think this is a time of judgment but those of us who are trying to serve Him and defend the things that He has taught, may yet see Him act. He said no this time but who knows what will happen in the future. Nobody knows.

Nance: Nothing is too big for God. God can use this President just like He can anyone else, and He has throughout history used people who were not believers and were not followers of the Lord or followers of the God throughout the Bible to do his work, so we will pray to that end and trust the Lord knows what He’s doing, but I’m already looking ahead to 2014.

So next time the Dobsons complain that Obama isn’t caving to their demand he participates in their event, maybe they can give up the act that they are non-partisan.

Swanson: Democrats Plan to Grow Government by Ensuring 'Everybody is Committing Homosexual Acts and They're High on Drugs'

Pastor Kevin Swanson of Generations Radio this week said that Democrats are deviously working to “strip back” government control over marijuana and homosexuality “in order to maximize the immorality of the people” and “increase the size of government.” The “Democratic vision in a nutshell,” according to Swanson, is “to make sure everybody is committing homosexual acts and they’re high on drugs, and then they vote for Democrats to increase the size of government and provide pretend security for the people high on drugs.”

Democrats in general—in general—are for anything that’s immoral and anything that involves more government. As it turns out occasionally you have to strip back a little more government control in order for people to become more immoral. You follow me there? I mean if you’re a Democrat, you’re going to have to strip back a little control of things like marijuana and homosexuality in order to maximize the immorality of the people. But in the process, what do you do with the size of government, Dave you’re a good Democrat. In the process what are you doing with the size of government? You’re growing and growing and growing and growing it. So the idea, friends, is to make sure everybody is committing homosexual acts and they’re high on drugs, and then they vote for Democrats to increase the size of government and provide pretend security for the people high on drugs. That’s the Democratic vision in a nutshell…somebody write that down I think that’s worth putting on a poster somewhere. That’s what Democrats do and they do it well.

Swanson continued his tirade by declaring that since Americans are “not voting for pro-life candidates,” they are “pro-abortion” and “just love to kill kids.” He further proclaimed that “what women really care about is the ability to kill their children.”

People are not voting for the pro-life candidates, in fact Dave I think this last election season was the most pro-abortion season I’ve ever seen…I saw a number, I heard a number of commercials that were talking about how wonderful it was for women to choose to abort or kill their children, this was something that was sold hook line and sinker in just about every other commercial that I heard relating to the race, the 2012 races. I think that’s destructive that Americans are pro-abortion, Americans like to kill their kids.

Franklin Graham: Americans 'Turned our Back on God' by Re-Electing Obama; Marriage Equality 'Takes the Family Away'

After warning that the re-election of Obama will bring God’s judgment and ultimate destruction, Franklin Graham while speaking to David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network asserted that Obama’s second term will “usher in the largest changes in our society since the Civil War.” He later maintained that Obama’s re-election is proof that Americans have “turned our back on God,” and said that “we need someone like a Jerry Falwell to come back and resurrect the Moral Majority movement.”

Graham also told Brody that same-sex marriage puts society in jeopardy because it “takes the family away and there is no way you can have a family with two females or two males, if you just think biologically how God made us our plumbing is completely different.” “There is no room for us to consider gay marriage or same-sex marriage,” Graham continued, “that is redefining what God gave us.”

A First Swing at Fixing the Broken Election System

If you were casting a ballot in South Carolina last Tuesday, your wait to vote may have been four hours. In Florida, it might have been seven. If you were voting in Hawaii, you may have gone to one of the nineteen polling places that ran out of paper ballots. President Barack Obama noted in his victory speech that many Americans waited in long lines and, as he stated, “we have to fix that.”

Just nine days after Election Day, Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) has taken a first swing at that fix. Coons proposed a bill yesterday that would reform many of the country’s election procedures. His proposed legislation, the Louis L. Redding Fair, Accurate, Secure and Timely (FAST) Voting Act of 2012, would provide federal grants to states that make voting faster and more accessible. The bill includes provisions for same-day registration, early voting, and reducing how long voters must wait at poorly-performing voting facilities.

As Sen. Coons noted in a statement: “Long lines are a form of voter disenfranchisement, a polling place running out of ballots is a form of voter suppression, and making it harder for citizens to vote is a violation of voters’ civil rights.” And these problems at the polls tend to disproportionately affect African American and Latino voters.

The Washington Post points out that it is less a matter of fixing a voting system but more an issue of fixing thousands of voting systems. They note that with Congress, states, and local officials all playing roles, there is no single entity that oversees voting in the country. This may complicate the process of developing solutions.

Nevertheless, it is welcome news that national leaders are focusing on this issue. It was inspiring to see millions of Americans willing to spend hour after hour on line to vote, many of them likely knowing that the lines were an intentional result of plans to prevent them from voting. Every single voter on Election Day should be confident that their ballot will be cast in a timely manner and that their voice will be heard. Anything less is undemocratic -- and unacceptable.

Linda Harvey Doubts Christian Faith of African Americans who Supported Obama

Mission America head Linda Harvey is stunned that President Obama received an overwhelming percentage of the African American vote, and is now arguing that African American Christians cannot support Obama while believing in “the Lord’s vision of life and truth.” She says that black voters chose not to “choose candidates based on the content of his or her character” or “open their eyes” about Obama and instead were “swayed by race,” even though he has “insulted our Lord, our values and our faith.”

Ninety-three percent of African Americans voted for Obama in this election. Where are the Christians? Where are those who choose candidates based on the content of his or her character? Is it safe to conclude that ninety-three percent of African Americans are now in favor of homosexuality as marriage, late-term and sex-selection abortions, and they love the idea of limiting opportunity be penalizing success in this country? Do all this ninety-three percent agree that people of faith should be forced to pay for other people’s abortion-causing drugs? These are drugs that kill unborn babies. This is a human rights issue of the first magnitude and I am guessing there are plenty of black women and men who would have a problem with this if they chose to open their eyes about these policies aggressively supported by Obama and his administration, and now America has signed on for four more years of this. I even think there are college girls whose hearts would break if they faced this truth.

But no, here’s how this happens: Obama is a guy people want to believe, some people are swayed by race, giving him the benefit of the doubt; some find it impossible to accept the jaw-dropping reality about his actions though. He has insulted our Lord, our values and our faith in ways too numerous to mention. But folks decide which camp they want to be in: the cool camp, the one with the hip president who likes big government programs and nods at sexual sin, even if great harm comes to children as a result. No, for some people, first they choose their camp and then they try to figure out ways to justify it. We are drowning in our greed, financially, sexually, and in so many ways. It’s time for us to all get serious and be courageous. We must pray for these leaders but let’s never forget which camp we belong in, it’s the one with the Lord’s vision of life and truth.

'From Gingrich to Santorum to Perry to Bachmann, I Think Any of Them Could Have Won'

Former Council for National Policy executive director Steve Baldwin spoke to his fellow Romney critic Steve Deace this week, where they complained that conservative leaders didn’t heed their warnings about nominating Romney, and are now mourning that “America’s culture, America’s economy [and] America’s Christian history” were dealt a potentially fatal blow after Obama’s re-election.

Deace: Some of us spent the better part of our lives in the last year and a half telling everybody who mattered in this movement that we know, that this is what was going to happen if we nominate this guy. We risked friendships, relationships, radio affiliates, business relationships, trying to avoid the conversation you and I are having right now, and yet unfortunately most of these people for reasons—I don’t really care what they are anymore—they just didn’t want to listen, they just didn’t want to list to it. That’s what’s frustrating.

Baldwin: I’ve been warning people for ten years about this man and the more I warned the more people thought I was crazy. Now here we are, the worst loss I’ve seen in terms of impact on America’s culture, America’s economy, America’s Christian history. This loss is going to do so much damage to us, this was one of those campaigns that we have to get right and we didn’t get it right.

Baldwin later claimed that Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann all “could have won” in November. He also described a conference call he participated in with other conservatives about how leaders of the Religious Right, Tea Party and Ron Paul supporters need to unite for the 2016 election so the GOP doesn’t nominate a candidate like Romney.

Baldwin: With $1 billion, with maybe twice as much money as John McCain had, he got 2.5 million votes less, it would be difficult to perform worse than Romney, you would have to really try hard to do as bad as Romney did.

Deace: Do you think that any of the Republicans, any of the other alternatives to Romney in this primary, do you believe that any of them would have won this election, and if so—whom and why?

Baldwin: Oh yeah, I actually think every major candidate, from Gingrich to Santorum to Perry to Bachmann, I think any of them could have won. All they had to was tell the truth about Obama’s economy, his foreign policy, his attack on our culture, just tell the truth. Romney never told anyone anything about this guy.

Baldwin: I had a long discussion with a number of conservative leaders on a conference call today and there was some agreement here that there needs to be some high level discussions that go on between the three major conservative branches of the Republican party, and they may not even like that term ‘Republican party.’ I’m talking about the Christian Right—the social conservatives—, the Tea Party conservatives, and of course there’s overlap here, and the Ron Paul conservatives, and all three groups have overlaps. But there are people respected as leaders within all three of those entities that I feel need to get together and have some discussion about how we can sing the same song sheet in the future and try to unite because there was a problem here, we conservatives were split up so many ways that Romney took advantage of that and strode right on in and clinched the primary, we can’t do that anymore.

Beck: Obama's Re-Election is the 'Worst Choice in the History of Our Planet'

The re-election of President Obama has hastened Glenn Beck's full-blown transformation from one-time "rodeo clown" to borderline doomsday cult leader who now seems to spend the bulk of his time warning his listeners that the entire "system" is on the verge of collapse, so they need to take all necessary steps to be prepared ... which, of course, include subscribing to Beck's "The Blaze" network.

And Beck desperately needs subscribers to his network so that it can expand and get the truth out "to anybody who is possibly willing to wake up" because preaching to the choir is just not going to cut it, as was amply demonstrated by the recent election in which "62 million Americans ... made the worst choice in the history of our planet":

Bozell: Obama must Yield to House Republicans because 'We Have a Larger Vote than he Received'

Media Research Center founder Brent Bozell appeared on The Janet Mefferd Show to discuss the demands he made alongside other conservative activists, including Marjorie Dannenfelser, Alfred Regnery, Richard Viguerie, Jeff Bell and Jenny Beth Martin, for Republican leaders in Congress to step down after their election defeats. According to Bozell and others, the GOP suffered humiliating losses because the party wasn’t conservative enough. He told Mefferd that figures calling on House Speaker John Boehner to compromise with President Obama are really asking Republicans to “surrender our principles” and that Obama should be the one who should succumb to the Republican position. “Why isn’t he compromising with us?” Bozell asked, “We have a larger vote than he received.”

Listen:

We have to surrender our principles, what they’re saying is: John Boehner, surrender that which got you elected, that which brought you to Washington, the beliefs of the people who voted you in, surrender them. No, why not say, wait a minute, we’re the ‘people’s House,’ we are on par with the President of the United States according to the Constitution, why isn’t he compromising with us? We have a larger vote than he received. He has no mandate on this, he got eight million votes less than he got last time.

Unfortunately for Bozell, President Obama received over 62,608,181 votes while just 53,402,643 votes were cast for Republican House candidates. In fact, Democratic House candidates garnered 53,952,240 votes, about a half a million more votes than their Republican counterparts, who heavily benefited from gerrymandering.

Joyner: 'Our President, Barack Obama, is a Wicked Man'

Rick Joyner recently hosted a special post-election webinar featuring "prophet" Bob Jones during which Jones declared that Hurricane Sandy and the subsequent Nor'easter that struck the East Coast were God's judgment for legalizing gay marriage while Joyner lamented that, according to the Bible, "our president, Barack Obama, is a wicked man" which means that, by re-electing him, "we sided with wickedness over righteousness":

Hagee: 'God Will Hold America Responsible' for Re-Electing Obama

Yesterday, John Hagee opened up the "Hagee Hotline" to answer questions from parishioners about the election; questions like "do you believe [President Obama] is the precursor to the Anti-Christ?"  Hagee never really answered the question, simply predicting that an economic crash is coming that will result in the rise of a global economic czar who will, in fact, be the Anti-Christ.

But as for the election, Hagee warned that "America chose a leader who is for men marrying men" and who is "pro-abortion" and who has "attacked freedom of religion" and so this nation is "about to face the consequences of our choices" because "God will hold America responsible for that choice":

Don Wildmon says America chose 'Chaos' by Re-Electing Obama

Last week, American Family Association founder Don Wildmon appeared on AFA Today with Buster Wilson, where the conservative leader was mourning the re-election of President Obama. He said that the election represented the beginning of the end for Western civilization and that the U.S. will “end up in chaos” as “ultimately we’re going to change the Constitution or do away with it.”

What happened is what we didn’t want to happen, there may be some people who will disagree and who may even be upset with what I’m about to say but in this election we tipped Western civilization, it’s no longer going up, it’s going down. Now you won’t see a drastic change in three months, you won’t see a big change in three years, but in thirty years from now you’re going to see a real big change. It’s going to be different, absolutely different. The Christian value system, the Christian view of man, will be replaced. With what? With whatever somebody else has enough gunpowder to make it work. That’s the tipping point and from here on out we’re simply going downhill. Hate to say that and I wish I didn’t have to say that, but if I want to be honest with you, I’ve got to say that. I’ve been looking at this for thirty years and the people spoke yesterday and Americans have nobody to blame except themselves, we’ve become a society where we expect you to give me something or do something for me.

Changes like this come over a period of years, scores of years sometimes, but ultimately we’re going to change the Constitution or do away with it. We’ll end up in chaos. I remember a sermon years ago by a preacher, ‘Christ or Chaos.’ That’s the choice and we made the choice.

The Men of the American Family Association Explain how George Clooney Swung the Election to Obama

American Family Association president Tim Wildmon and research director Ed Vitagliano today spoke to WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah about how they are all still astonished that Obama won re-election. Vitagliano apparently did his research into the Obama campaigns strategies, and figured out that “they hooked women to Obama through these Hollywood stars” like George Clooney and Sarah Jessica Parker. Vitagliano said that our “devolved” culture has made women voters simply think, “‘I love George Clooney, George Clooney loves President Obama, therefore I love President Obama.’” Farah concurred and said Hollywood is “bombarding” Americans with “unconstitutional” and “ungodly” ideas, and asserted that even law schools no longer teach the Constitution.

Vitagliano: They said ‘what Hollywood star do women love’ and they found that they love overwhelmingly George Clooney, so what they did is they went and got George Clooney to have a dinner with President Obama and then they had a big fundraiser and they said to women, ‘if you want to have dinner with George Clooney and President Obama here is how much you pay per plate for this big fundraiser.’ They did the same thing in the east with Sarah Jessica Parker, who was a beloved icon of many women. So what they did, and it’s brilliant even while cynical, is they hooked women to Obama through these Hollywood stars. These women were saying well ‘George Clooney loves President Obama,’ and a fair number of them I’m guessing said, ‘so I love President Obama,’ and the same thing with Sarah Jessica Parker. That to me, and this is obviously an overstatement, that to me is not what the Founding Fathers envisioned that when they were hoping for a well-informed electorate being advised of the issues and studying the issues, no, what we’ve devolved to is ‘I love George Clooney, George Clooney loves President Obama, therefore I love President Obama.’

Farah: That’s right. We think these decisions that America made on Election Day every four years or every two years but they’re really not; how does George Clooney become this icon to women? How does Sarah Jessica Parker become an icon? That’s the culture that is operating 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it’s bombarding us with these immoral, unprincipled, unconstitutional, ungodly ideals. That has an effect. You can’t deny that it has an effect. Who is speaking for God in our culture? Who is standing up for God in our culture? Who is standing up for the Constitution in our culture? Is it being taught in our law schools? Come on, it hasn’t been for years.

Farah argued that America is now facing God’s judgment and it is “going to get worse” because “the little pockets of blue are dictating to the big swaths of red.” Apparently, Farah hasn’t figured out that those “little pockets of blue” evidently have more people residing in them than the “big swaths of red” and that geographical size doesn’t determine population. Later, Wildmon expressed utter amazement that Americans re-elected Obama, and Farah said a person randomly selected from a phone book should have been able to defeat the President.

Farah: When you look at that election map and you see the big swaths of red and the little pockets of blue and the little pockets of blue are dictating to the big swaths of red. This isn’t new, this isn’t just in 2012, this has been the case for many, many years, every election in my lifetime has been like this but it’s getting worse. So what’s the answer? I think there’s only a couple of things we can do, we’ve talked about them before together, I think it is very important that Christians get down on their knees and tremble before God for what has happened to this country, what we’re going to be experiencing for the foreseeable future here and really take a good look at 2 Chronicles 7:14. That is not talking about the whole country coming to repentance, it’s talking about the people who are ‘called by my name,’ it’s us, it’s the believers, if we do this, God will answer. I really believe that, I think we have got to embrace that view very strongly in the days ahead. I do believe America is facing judgment and I think we’re in the midst of it and I think it’s going to get worse.

Wildmon: This was history made Tuesday night in this respect: a fellow won re-election for president who was by all measurements a failure, an utter and complete failure.

Farah: It’s so unbelievable, unthinkable, inconceivable, by what standard of measurement do the American people use to evaluate this guy? I mean if he was running against just some guy you picked out of the phone book you would have thought they would’ve rejected Obama because he is a complete and total failure.

Kuhner: Obama is Channeling Trotsky, Leading a 'Ceaseless Assault Upon Traditional America'

We predicted that the fanatically anti-Obama columnist Jeffrey Kuhner of the Washington Times would go mad if President Obama won re-election, and he didn’t disappoint. In a column today, Kuhner warns that Obama is channeling the spirit of “Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotsky, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez” and is dependent on a left-wing “pseudo-religion.” Kuhner warned that Obama and his fellow Democrats are waging a “ceaseless assault upon traditional America” and will use comprehensive immigration reform to “permanently shift the electoral map in favor of the Democrats” and consequently “ensure national one-party Democratic rule for generations.”

“The president has shown nothing but contempt for the Constitution. He is remaking America in his own image,” Kuhner writes. “Can Republicans stop him? If not, there will be no return from Obama’s America.”

While he is grieving now, prior to the election Kuhner predicted that even if Obama were to win re-election he would be impeached and removed from office!

President Obama has succeeded in transforming America. The constitutional republic is dead. A socialist empire has been born. This is the true meaning — and historical significance — of Tuesday’s election.

From the outset of his presidency, Mr. Obama vowed to be a “transformative” leader. His re-election shows that he has achieved his primary goal: erecting a European social democracy.

Contrary to myth, liberalism is not a political ideology but a pseudo-religion — or rather, it is a substitute for traditional religion. It is driven by emotion, symbolism, irrationality and blind, intense faith. Its holy trinity is race, class and gender. Its church is the Democratic Party. And its savior —its secular messiah —is Mr. Obama. He has fostered a cult of personality common among leftist revolutionaries. Despite blatant failures, he is not held accountable by his supporters. Like Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotsky, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, Mr. Obama is never blamed by his ideological followers for any mistakes or misdeeds. It is always someone else’s fault — especially former President George W. Bush‘s. Obama-ites have one ever-present boogeyman: Mr. Bush. He is the American left’s devil.

Moreover, this explains Mr. Obama’s strategy — playing the race card, relentlessly attacking “millionaires and billionaires” and making phony claims of a GOP “war on women.” The only real war is the Democrats’ ceaseless assault upon traditional America. Mr. Obama is practicing the old politics of divide and conquer. His aim is to splinter and polarize society in the ruthless pursuit of power.

The path is clear for Mr. Obama’s complete transformation of America. He has admitted that the key to his re-election was the huge Hispanic turnout. He plans to repay the favor by pushing amnesty for nearly 12 million to 20 million illegal immigrants. The New York Times reports that Mr. Obama considers “comprehensive immigration reform” to be his first priority in a second term. The reason is obvious: Granting amnesty would permanently shift the electoral map in favor of the Democrats. Pivotal states with large illegal populations, such as Texas, Arizona, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, would become deep blue. It would ensure national one-party Democratic rule for generations.

The last line of defense is the Republican-controlled House. The Senate remains firmly in Democratic hands. Mr. Obama will reshape the Supreme Court as he fills inevitable upcoming vacancies. The establishment media is his lapdog. Hollywood backs him. The popular culture idolizes him. Almost every major institution is falling under his influence. The president has shown nothing but contempt for the Constitution. He is remaking America in his own image. Can Republicans stop him? If not, there will be no return from Obama’s America.

Wilson: God will Curse America for Re-Electing Obama

Yesterday, Buster Wilson of the American Family Association said that God will punish and curse America for re-electing Obama over his supposed mistreatment of Israel. He also lamented that health care reform will not be repealed and that if Obama has the opportunity to appoint new justices to the Supreme Court then Roe v. Wade will not be overturned any time soon. Later, he added that “homosexuality and the demand for protected and equal rights will now succeed and sweep the nation” as schools will teach children “as young as kindergartners that homosexuality is an accepted lifestyle.”

Because of America’s choice last night, there are a few things I know. First, I know that the Supreme Court will now have the possibility of two, maybe three, justices that will be appointed by President Obama. During the next four years he will have definitely one Supreme Court justice retire, possibly two, and there is a possibility of a third that would retire. So that will give him the opportunity to appoint, as he has already done, ACLU-type liberal lawyers for the Supreme Court justices, if he gets the chance to appoint two or three he could change the balance of the court and that will be that way for the rest of our lives. It will take the rest of our lives before the court could be changed again. Because of that, what do we know? One thing that we know for sure, the long sought after and deeply longed for overturn of Roe v. Wade by those of us that believe that abortion is murder probably won’t happen. If you get more liberal justices in the Supreme Court you’re not going to see Roe v. Wade overturned. We’ll have to continue to fight that battle in different directions. Second thing I know for sure—number one the court will change and become more liberal for the rest of our lifetimes—he second thing I know is that Obamacare will not be repealed, Obamacare will be fully implemented in our lives.

The third thing I know is homosexuality and the demand for protected and equal rights will now succeed and sweep the nation. Four states voted for it in some fashion yesterday and that means that when they teach that homosexuality is an accepted lifestyle to your kindergartners like they did, I think it was in New Jersey or Chicago I don’t remember where it was, but it does happen even though they mock us and say we’re making this up. We’re not, they teach as young as kindergartners that homosexuality is an accepted lifestyle, when they do and you don’t like it, you’re not going to have any chance to do anything about it because this country is going to be swept off its feet in this direction by this president. The fourth thing I know, you can look for the sure judgment of God against our nation, the curse of Genesis 12, because we won’t treat Israel any better than we did before.

Gary Bauer: GOP Could Have Won if it Emphasized Opposition to Marriage Equality, Abortion Rights

Karl Rove’s American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS spent hundreds of millions of dollars to defeat Obama and swing the U.S. Senate to the Republicans. After failing at both of these goals, Gary Bauer in an interview with Janet Mefferd chided Rove for not using his Crossroads juggernaut to focus on social issues. According to Bauer, if only Republicans like Rove emphasized the GOP’s opposition to abortion rights and gay equality, then maybe Republicans might’ve won after all!

Of course, Bauer’s Campaign for Working Families and other Religious Right groups like Eagle Forum and the Family Research Council invested heavily in the campaign to defeat Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) and elect Todd Akin, who lost badly and carried just 39 percent of the vote. Bauer also may not be the best political analyst as earlier this year he predicted a Romney victory and said that votes for Obama will only come from fraudulent ballots and people who “depend on checks from their fellow taxpayers.”

Bauer: Karl Rove, a good man and basically a conservative, he probably raised over $100 million running ads, I don’t believe one of those ads were about family, about life, about marriage. Romney was pro-life and pro-family but I don’t think we really engaged in the ad war on those issues and I think if we would’ve engaged instead of being forced to be the defensive I still think we would’ve gotten many, many more of what used to be the Reagan Democrats, Catholics and others who are pro-life and pro-family but may identify more with the Democrats on the economic issues but with Republicans and conservatives on values issues.

Mefferd: I couldn’t agree more. One of my biggest frustrations was during the presidential debates where it was about the economy and the foreign policy and I thought : no one ever talked about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell being repealed, nobody ever talked about the morality or immorality of so-called homosexual marriage, abortion was not a big issue, we didn’t even talk much about radical Islam.

Bauer: I just looked at some polling data we purchased yesterday, exit polling data, it showed that the country is narrowly divided about 50/50 on the same-sex marriage issue but those that are against same-sex marriage were much more intense and much more willing to say ‘I vote on this issue, I will vote against a candidate that is in favor of same-sex marriage.’ Those who are in favor of it were much more squishy about it, didn’t say it was a voting thing for as many of them, so I continue to think that issue, in addition to it being important that we maintain normal marriage, but I also believe it is a political winning issue.

Young Progressives Endorsed By People For the American Way Win Big on Tuesday

Washington, DC – More than three-quarters of the young progressive candidates for state and local offices endorsed by People For the American Way’s Young Elected Progressives program won their election bids on Tuesday, People For the American Way reported today. The Young Elected Progressives program, in its first year, endorsed 79 candidates in general elections in 28 states and the District of Columbia, with 60 winning their bids.

“We started this program to boost promising young progressives, many of them making their first bid for elected office,” said Randy Borntrager, Political Director of People For the American Way. “We’re helping to build a lasting movement by providing young progressives with the resources they need to start their careers in public service. We are thrilled that our endorsed candidates did so well on Tuesday, and are looking forward to growing and strengthening the program in future elections.”

Eighteen of the endorsed candidates, many in particularly close races, were given extra attention through the new "On the Way" program. Fourteen of those candidates were successful on Tuesday, including:

  • Stefanie Mach, an alumna of affiliate PFAW Foundation’s advanced leadership programs, pulled out a victory in a hotly contested state House race in Tucson.
  • State Sen. Angie Buhl of South Dakota won reelection to a second term representing Sioux Falls, where she has been a strong progressive leader.
  • Cyrus Habib won a seat in the Washington state House, making him the first Iranian American elected to a state legislature.
  • Jacob Candelaria became the first openly gay legislator in New Mexico, winning a state Senate seat representing Albuquerque.
  • Steve Hansen of Sacramento is poised to win a seat on the City Council, his first elected office, ahead by just 28 votes.

After Obama’s Re-Election, Religious Right Demands Repentance and Resistance

Dejected, downcast and angry, conservatives have begun attacking the media and other Christians for not signing on to the anti-Obama campaign, maintaining that Obama’s re-election proves that America is experiencing moral breakdown. Family Research Council head Tony Perkins told talk show host Janet Mefferd that the election results reveal “symptoms of a deeper moral and spiritual problem that we’re facing in our nation,” and beseeched Christians not to just “go on the mountaintop and just wait for the Rapture.”

We wrestle with these political issues but at the core our problems as a nation are not political, they are spiritual. These are symptoms of a deeper moral and spiritual problem that we are facing in our nation. So how do we go forward as Christians? I think there is going to be a temptation for some to go on the mountaintop and just wait for the Rapture, but that’s not in the instruction manual that God has given us.

Mefferd even claimed that she does not believe America will survive an Obama second term and feared that death panels will try to kill her when she is older.

When we made all those proclamations before this election that we can’t survive another four years, I don’t know about all the other people who were saying that, I actually meant it. Now whether or not I’m right about that remains to be seen, but I wasn’t one of those people who woke up this morning and said ‘you know at least I have my health.’ Where my thoughts go is: at least I have my health until the death panels tell me I can’t have the treatment I need in about twenty years when I need something substantive and they tell me I’m too old.

Mike Huckabee on Focus on the Family said conservatives experienced a “humiliating defeat” and must repent.

He also prayed for Christians to begin to change America and stop abortion rights and same-sex marriage.

We have the freedom to love it, we also have the freedom to criticize it and the freedom to change it, forgive us God for not accepting the responsibility that comes with that freedom and for so often just being critical without participating and trying to make it better. We know we have sinned against you as a country: we have done it in that way that we’ve shown contempt toward life that you created, we know we have done it in the manner in which we’ve defiled the sacred bonds of marriage so that it accurately pictures your relationship between Christ and the church. But we also know God that you love us, you are willing to forgive us if we are willing to repent, and we pray that this could lead us to a time of real repentance as a country.

Janet Porter of Faith 2 Action said “there must be repentance” for the “pro-family election disaster,” blaming the media and “disobedient” Christians who “have idols of race, party and entitlements.”

In the wake of what many would describe as a pro-family election disaster, the question, “What happened?”

My answer: 3D’s.

No. 1: Dereliction of duty of Christians who sat this election out or threw their votes away.

No. 2: Deception brought to you by the most biased mainstream media, complete with biased debate moderators and cover-up of the most important stories and the positions of those running.

The third D: Disobedience. Those who identify themselves as Christians have idols of race, party and entitlements. There must be repentance.

So, repent, rest, recover, but for our liberties and values to survive, this is not the time to retreat. Now is the time to advance.

Orson Scott Card, the author and National Organization for Marriage board member, lashed out at the media for covering up Obama’s lies and acting like Nazis!

Barack Obama is still a liar -- you didn't change that, you merely hid it.

Barack Obama is still the selfish, cowardly commander-in-chief who abandons American public servants -- you didn't change him, nor did you give him any reason to change.

If America had a Joseph Goebbels who would arrest any journalist who reported anything that would make the administration look bad, did you write or say or report anything during this election campaign that would have put you inside a jail cell?

Everybody at Fox News would have been jailed, and Fox News would have been shut down. But you already do everything you can to get people not to listen to Fox, so the actions of such a propaganda minister would merely make official what you already try to accomplish by other means.

Don't you dare say I'm lying or exaggerating, because the Democrats did try to shut down conservative talk radio, and you supported them in that effort, allowing them to get away with calling the proposed action "fairness."

You go along with the big lie every day. You did it obviously and openly in these last weeks before the election, allowing Barack Obama to conceal, cover up, lie -- all because, like good obedient party flacks, you knew that nothing was more important than keeping the Beloved Leader in power.

But far more likely is the other alternative -- that, faced with your monolithic groupthink, your insistent flacking for the Beloved Leader, your dishonesty that is equal to his dishonesty, your emulation of Pravda, the Republicans in Congress will give up, Fox News will drop the story, it will all go away, and the Beloved Leader will continue in power.

Then, when his appeasement of our enemies results in a nuclear explosion in Tel Aviv ... When more and more Al-Qaeda-style attacks kill more Jews and more Americans around the world ...

Just because brown-shirted thugs aren't beating your opponents in the streets doesn't mean you aren't every bit as much the enemies of democracy as any Nazi or Bolshevik ever was.

Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel said that Christians under Obama will be living like under Nazi Germany and that, as a result of this election, America is on the brink of collapse now that “abortion, same-sex marriage, and immorality carried the day.”

The event we have just witnessed was far more than a general election – it was a referendum on the soul of America. We grieve today like we have lost a friend or a close relative. Millions of Americans looked evil in the eye and adopted it. Some Christian observers called the Democratic Party platform for 2012 a “Romans 1 Platform,” and they were right. Abortion, same-sex marriage, and immorality carried the day.

We might be a Bonhoeffer in Nazi Germany who never lived to see the fruit of his faithful labor. We might be a Wilberforce in England who saw the fruit of his labor (the abolition of slavery and reformation of morals), but died soon after, never getting the chance to enjoy the results. We might even be a David who stood up against popular opinion and defeated a giant who blasphemed God Almighty. No matter what our lot might be, we are called to be faithful!

We will no doubt see and feel the consequences of this election. More children will die. Marriage will come under greater attack. Immorality will be exalted. Sadly, the country could easily collapse under the weight of escalating economic debt. Islam will be emboldened. Our military will become weaker. Israel will not have as strong an ally as it needs at this critical time. The world will become a more dangerous place. These are all consequences that follow national actions like the ones we have just witnessed. But, when you are down, that is the time to fight all the harder!

Rick Green of WallBuilders blamed the education system for why America “knowingly embraced socialism,” and said that conservatives must channel the spirit of the American Revolution to resist Obama.

Half of the American voters that showed up to vote have knowingly embraced socialism. Does that mean they are evil? No, of course not. But it does mean they are wrong.

It means they are misinformed because our education system has for 60 years taught the “virtues” of socialism while tearing down capitalism and traditional values. We are simply living with the results.

The left wing understands that it takes decades and generations to move a culture. For 60 years, they have been actively engaged and focused on this fight for the soul of America.

The only logical explanation for half the nation holding out is that there were enough parents during the last three generations passing down liberty principles at home despite the cultural onslaught against them.

It’s EXACTLY like the Revolutionary Committees of Correspondence that started in 1764…eleven years before the Revolution actually began. Those were the seeds that bore the fruit of freedom nearly a full generation later. The British troops did not leave American soil for nearly 20 years after that handful of American patriots began their great work. It will be at least 20 years before we can fully turn the tide against socialism, but freedom for my kids and grandkids is worth it!

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC’s William Gheen urged Republicans to continue to oppose comprehensive immigration reform, even as they got trounced among Hispanic voters.

With the US House in the hands of Republicans, there is a chance that if we all work hard we can stop Obama from permanently empowering his illegal alien army as legal and illegal voters.

We expect Obama to follow a similar trajectory as Bush. Obama will push for mass amnesty for illegal aliens early in 2013 and by doing so his approval ratings will drop to historic lows just like Bush did when his approval dropped to around 20% making him the most unpopular President in modern American history.

We need to unite illegal immigration fighting groups with Tea Party groups, gun rights groups, and low tax groups immediately. We need to reach out to disaffected Democrats and Unaffiliated voters who will quickly sour on Obama early in his second term as Obama takes his nice guy mask off and the horns pop out.

UPDATE: The zealously anti-Obama pastor Rick Joyner in a new bulletin mourned that America is heading into a state of tyranny and may even dissolve into “separate nations.” He lamented that “the Republic cannot now long survive” and that Obama has already “fulfilled in many ways what the Scripture calls a wicked leader.”

For about ten years, thinkers and writers in Russia have predicted the break up of the United States into four or more separate nations. At first I thought this was just sour grapes on their part because of the break up of the Soviet Union, but I also felt that there could be truth to this. I do not believe that it is absolutely determined, rather it is the direction we are now headed. As the saying goes, “If you do not change your direction, you will end up where you are headed.”

...

Our Founding Fathers were just as afraid of the tyranny of the masses as they were the tyranny of the king. They had witnessed in the French Revolution what happened when the masses ruled, and they established in our Constitution firewalls against the tyranny on both sides. Both of these firewalls have been breached or torn down altogether now, and as the Founders warned, the Republic cannot now long survive.

Thomas Jefferson warned that the Republic could not last if the people learned that they could vote for themselves the resources of the national treasury. That was breeched a long time ago, and we are now at the point where the entitlement mentality it has created in the masses is about to destroy us. We were led down this road by both the Democrats and the Republicans. This is not sustainable, but one is not likely to get elected to office if they even talk about trying to correct this. We are now very close to collapsing the whole system. Then elections will no longer be held at all and we will face a terrible tyranny. We will first face the tyranny of the mob, and then we will face the tyranny of the tyrant.

...

Our Constitution is now hanging by a thread. With the Senate so solidly in the hands of liberals, we can expect activist judges to be appointed throughout the Federal Courts, and likely take control of the Supreme Court for decades to come. For a long time, the Constitution has just been ignored, but now it is under a systematic attack and may not last much longer.

...

To date, I believe that Obama has fulfilled in many ways what the Scripture calls a wicked leader. He has sided with and promoted what the Bible calls wickedness, while attacking what the Bible calls righteousness. Even so, I think at this time he is an accurate reflection of the heart of the nation that has been turning away from God since the 1960s. More firewalls of the righteousness that our nation has walked in were breeched in this last election. So let’s be praying for our President and the people to turn back to the Lord.

UPDATE II: Televangelist James Robison wondered if “a severe shaking and ultimate humiliation will be necessary” to make America repent for continuing to back Obama and his liberal policies.

I am still wondering if only a severe shaking and ultimate humiliation will be necessary before both the church and nation turn to God in genuine repentance. With God’s help and His grace, we must all be faithful witnesses and as ministers proclaim His word fearlessly and faithfully. We must continually offer hope and help to the downtrodden, overlooked, and often forgotten people here and around the world. We are commissioned by Christ to be salt and light, Spirit-filled witnesses, and makers of disciples among the nations.

Too many Americans have been trained to want someone other than God to care for them and consistently fail to truly love their neighbors as themselves. People are on the brink of trusting what the Old Testament prophets referred to as “the shadow of Egypt” (the ways of the world) and in another type of Pharaoh rather than in the shelter of the Almighty and as a result we are headed for bondage from which only God can deliver us. The Lord remains our hope.

UPDATE III: Not to be outdone, Franklin Graham is now predicting America’s destruction:

On the day of his father’s 94th birthday, and the day after the country re-elected President Barack Obama president, evangelist Franklin Graham gave two-pronged advice to the American people:

Politically, it’s time for the two parties to work more closely.

Yet spiritually, Tuesday’s results sent America further down a “path of destruction.”

“Unless we’re willing to repent for our sins, we will stand in his judgment,” Graham said Wednesday, shortly after leaving a birthday party for his father, evangelist Billy Graham, in Montreat.

“I want to warn America: God is coming around. He will judge sin, and it won’t be pretty.”

In particular, Graham was referring to the re-election of Obama, a man he has accused of “waving his fist before God” by supporting abortion rights and same-sex marriage. Voters in four states Tuesday either passed laws legalizing gay unions or blocked moves to further restrict it.
