On his "Pray In Jesus Name" program yesterday, Gordon Klingenschmitt interviewed John McTernan of USA Prophecy about his book "As America Has Done To Israel" in which he "reveals the direct correlation between America interfering with God's prophetic plan for Israel and incredible disasters hitting America."
As McTernan explained to Klingenschmitt, just about every major natural disaster that has struck the United States since 1991 has been as a result of America trying to force Israel to give up land for peace. McTernan said that President George H.W Bush's vacation home in Maine was damaged when the US co-sponsored the Madrid Peace Conference as a sign from God and, since then, America has been hit by massive natural disasters every time this nation has tried to "pressure Israel to divide the land."
"That includes the North Ridge Earthquake," McTernan said, "It includes Hurricane Andrew, Hurricane Katrina, it includes the tremendous tornado outbreak in Joplin, Missouri and many, many, many other of these massive disasters and there is an Israeli component at the very time of the disasters."
Klingenschmitt agreed, saying these disasters are to be interpreted as "the wrath of God against America when we choose to violate Scripture" by having "cursed" Israel:
In a blog post last week, Concerned Women for America reminded us of one ever-present subtext in the Christian Right’s focus on support for Israel.
Christian Zionists believe that biblical prophecy requires Jews to converge in Israel to pave way for the Second Coming, at which time Jews will be converted to Christianity or die. There are, of course, otherreasons for the Christian Right’s allegiance with Israel, but the ultimate conversion of Jews is a subtext underlying the activism of many within the movement.
Take a recent CWA blog post, for example, about the need for Jews to return to Israel in order for them to ultimately convert to Christianity.
“Not only should we push for strong foreign policy, but we must also be in prayer for our Jewish friends,” CWA writes in a July 18 blog post. “Ultimately, God is eager to bring his people back to Him and to direct their zeal for the law into a zeal for Christ’s already accomplished salvation on the Cross for both Jews and Gentiles alike.”
We must push for legislation that promotes the peace that Israel deserves and pushes the Palestinian Authority to break its ties with Hamas. America must have a strategic role in this conflict, and we as citizens should hold our leaders accountable to protect our ally in the Middle East — reminding our leaders that any foreign policy that does not support Israel is at stark odds with our national interests.
Furthermore, as Christians we are called to protect Israel and stand with this nation of people that God has blessed. Not only should we push for strong foreign policy, but we must also be in prayer for our Jewish friends. Ultimately, God is eager to bring his people back to Him and to direct their zeal for the law into a zeal for Christ’s already accomplished salvation on the Cross for both Jews and Gentiles alike.
CWA was founded by Beverly LaHaye, whose husband Tim LaHaye wrote the incredibly successful “Left Behind” series.
David Barton appeared on TBN's "Praise The Lord" program last week where he warned that America is going to suffer the wrath of God for not properly supporting Israel because "any time you go after the Jews, God comes after you."
Asserting that since God personally established Israel's boundaries, Barton said that politicians had "better get God's permission" before they start advocating any changes to those boundaries because "if you start messing with that, you're messing directly with God."
Countries like the United States that are not siding with Israel will suffer the consequences, he warned, as God strikes this nation with extreme weather, droughts, productivity declines, and agricultural disasters:
Gohmert said that he wasn't familiar with the terms of a possible Pollard release, but did know that the Obama administration has been "twisting arms" of the Israeli leadership behind the scenes in ways that is putting this nation in danger of suffering the wrath of God.
"Since I do believe the Bible," Gohmert explained, "those nations that divide Israel are going to be judged and it isn't going to be pretty. I'd hate to be the country that betrays Israel, that demands that they give up land that had been given to them. I think that we're in real trouble with the pressure that this administration's doing":
Pat Robertson has issued yetanotherwarning against Middle East peace negotiations, this time predicting natural disasters in the US over the country’s role in mediating talks between the Israelis and Palestinians. The televangelist, who called former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s stroke divine retribution for “dividing God’s land,” told 700 Club viewers today that “from a prophetic stands point, every time the United States gets involved in some kind of a pressure on Israel to split their land there’s some natural disaster that happens here in America.”
“There was a very cogent book written about that, just traced one after the other, of traced disasters that come on America,” Robertson continued. “If the United States pressures Israel to try to give up half of Jerusalem, God himself is going to come against this nation. Watch it.”
For Glenn Beck, nothing is ever what is seems and so when President Obama travels to Israel, it cannot be because that is just the sort of thing that presidents do, but rather because there is some nefarious agenda at work.
As Beck sees it, Obama already won the election and has no intention of changing any of his positions on issues pertaining to Israel or the region, so there is no reason for him to travel there ... but he did, and so there must be a hidden reason.
Beck found that hidden reason in a piece that suggests that Obama's visit there is designed to strengthen the Muslim Brotherhood and undermine Israel, as he and Rabbi Daniel Lapin agreed that the fact that Obama will not be speaking to the Knesset "conveys a message in terms of hidden clues throughout the Arab Street [that] Obama does not recognize the political and democratic legitimacy of the Israeli government":
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, made an interesting observation on his radio show yesterday. Speaking about the confirmation of Chuck Hagel, Perkins mused about the ‘irony’ that Hagel, whom he considers to be anti-Israel, was backed by Democratic senators who are “mostly aligned with a lot of the Jewish lobby” and “enjoy the money coming from the Jewish community.” Hmmm, “Jewish lobby,” where have I heard that before?
Hagel has been savaged in recent weeks for having used the phrase in a 2006 interview. He has since apologized and said he should phrased his comments differently. In case it isn’t obvious, the ADL’s Abe Foxman explains the many problems with saying “Jewish lobby.”
Notwithstanding Hagel’s apology, Sen. Lindsey Graham grilled him about his use of the phrase during his confirmation hearing. FRC also cited Hagel’s use of “Jewish lobby” in its background document opposing his confirmation. Meanwhile over at the website of the American Family Association, which broadcasts Perkins’ show, David Limbaugh railed against Hagel’s “bigoted accusation” about the “Jewish lobby” and said he failed to provide a “satisfactory explanation for his disgraceful terminology – because there is none.”
“Bigoted” and “disgraceful” sounds about right, but don’t hold your breath waiting for conservatives to denounce Perkins’ comments:
But here’s the irony. Is that the Democratic Party and the Democratic senators that supported Hagel, in spite of the fact that he has a record that’s deplorable on Israel, it comes from Democratic senators who are mostly aligned with a lot of the Jewish lobby here in Washington and around the nation, enjoy the money coming from the Jewish community. The Jewish community tends to be liberal, not all, but a lot of it is, and it supports Democratic candidates. But yet the Democratic Party works against the benefit of Israel in many ways, and this is an example of it.
Perkins seems mystified as to why most American Jews support Democrats, but his right-hand man thinks he knows the reason. FRC’s Executive Vice President Jerry Boykin has argued that Hitler was “an extraordinarily off the scale leftist” but “many Jews in America, for example, can't identify with the Republican Party because they're called the party of the Right, when in fact nothing could be further from the truth.”
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) spoke to anti-Muslimconspiracytheorist Frank Gaffney yesterday on Secure Freedom Radio where he alleged that the Obama administration actively aided Al Qaeda and follows the advice of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Texas congressman partnered with Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and a group of Republicans to demand investigations of Muslim Americans serving in the administration, with Bachmann warning that Muslim Brotherhood secret agents have successfully conducted “deep penetration” of the U.S. government. After the witch hunt was roundly criticized by Democrats and Republicans alike, Bachmann ended up literally running away from reporters.
Yesterday, Gohmert told Gaffney that the anti-Muslim investigations are needed more than ever, arguing that Obama made such “horrendous decisions” by backing “revolutions in Northern Africa and across the Middle East and to the Far East” that it is likely because the “administration had a bunch of Muslim Brotherhood members giving them advice.”
Gaffney: Congressman Gohmert let me just ask you quickly because you were one of five members of the House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich called you all the National Security Five, who back in June of this year wrote letters to Inspectors General of five different departments raising the question that some of these dismal policies that have resulted in the Obama administration embracing Islamists at home as well as abroad and finding itself I would argue squarely on the wrong side of history as far as freedom is concerned, may be a function of these Muslim Brotherhood associated individuals who are serving in or advising the Obama administration. Looking at what’s happening now, looking at what has developed since you wrote those letters, do you feel that that issue should be raised anew and much more aggressively as Congress looks into the fiasco in Benghazi and now more recently in Egypt?
Gohmert: Absolutely. I think it almost makes a prima facie case when you look at the decisions made by this administration over the last couple of years, or actually all four years. You look at the decisions it made especially in the last two years in going through the revolutions in Northern Africa and across the Middle East and to the Far East, and the only way you can explain the horrendous decisions that were so completely wrongheaded would be if this administration had a bunch of Muslim Brotherhood members giving them advice.
Gohmert, of “terror babies” distinction, later maintained that Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood take over Libya (they didn’t) thanks to help from the Obama administration and also talked about how Palestinians are actually a new group because they didn’t live in the area when King David ruled.
It wasn’t enough to send verbal accolades; this administration sent planes and bombs and support to oust Gadhafi so that Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood could take over Libya. Some of us were fussing about it back then but we faced what was then ‘all the rage’ and that was you know Muslim Brotherhood taking over, call it Arab Spring, call it Arab Winter, whatever you want to, but it was disastrous unless you were wanting a new Ottoman Empire to take place and that’s what this administration helped jump start. So with that same kind of spirit and enthusiasm and excitement that we saw from this administration as Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood took over in Libya and has now taken over in Egypt, now we’re seeing that for the Morsi brokered temporary peace. There is not going to be any peace in the Middle East until the Palestinians—and Newt Gingrich is right, that’s a relatively new term, they certainly weren’t around 3,000 years ago when King David was ruling from Hebron for seven years and then Jerusalem.
Anti-Muslim conspiracytheorist Avi Lipkin returned to VCY America’s Crosstalk to discuss with host Vic Eliason the crisis in Gaza and explain why the Obama administration funded Israel’s Iron Dome when he is actually a Muslim seeking Israel’s destruction. Lipkin believes that Obama is a tool of Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabia, in turn, is a tool of the Illuminati, arguing that the President is following orders from the Saudi monarchy/Illuminati to destroy both Israel and Iran. But since Lipkin also admits that Obama is helping Israel through the Iron Dome defense system, he asserts that the shield funding is actually part of a malicious plot to give Israel a false sense of security and trick it into starting a deadly war with Iran, a war which Lipkin says will lead to both countries’ demise.
So apparently if Obama doesn’t provide aide then he hates Israel, and if he does provide aide it also means he hates Israel.
So you might say, ‘yes he’s very pro-Israel in that he gave us these weapons.’ But the problem is this: when the Islamic world spends more than a hundred times what Israel spends on missiles, bombs, bullets, aircraft, tanks and helicopters and everything like that, no matter how much the U.S. military gives Israel it’s a drop in the ocean compared to all the weapons available to the Muslims because they’re spending all their oil money to make war against Israel. So some people think this generous gift by Obama and by the U.S. military to Israel is basically giving Israel enough rope to hang itself, to get involved in a war which after five, six or seven weeks, again we’re out of bullets.
According to my wife who monitors the Arabic-language broadcasts, Obama’s a Muslim, he is following orders from Saudi [Arabia] and the bottom line is for the destruction of Israel, and the bottom line is also for the destruction of the Iranian Shiite leadership in Tehran. So what’s better than killing two birds with one stone? Meanwhile Iran is constantly arming Hamas in Gaza with rockets against us and Iran is backing Bashar al-Assad and Hezbollah, who are also very not very friendly to Israel, not that the Sunnis would be any better, Israel is in a very bad neighborhood, everybody hates Israel here in the Middle East, all the Muslims hate Israel. It could be that Obama is using Israel as a proxy in a war against Iran. When he says, ‘let Israel defend itself,’ yeah let Israel get involved in a war, get enmeshed in a war which in the end will be very, very deleterious to Israel.
Lipkin concludes that all Muslims are determined to murder Jews and Christians because Islam is a “criminal psychosis” and they worship Satan.
Islam is not a religion, it is a criminal psychosis. And this criminal psychosis calls for the killing of the Jews on Saturday and the Christians on Sunday.
We see today the Sunnis and Shiites fighting each other, they all hate Israel, they all want to destroy Israel in the name of destroying each other because their god Allah is the devil, is Satan.
Under President Obama’s leadership, the Pentagon revived plans for the Iron Dome rocket defense shield in Israel, which played a critical role in the recent Gaza crisis. “Despite initial Pentagon misgivings, President Barack Obama has given $275 million to the project since 2010” after the Bush administration turned down requests to fund the project, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Now, anti-gay activist Harry Jackson is trying his best to act as an expert on the Middle East (just as he styles himself to be a health care and energy policy analyst) by attacking the Obama administration for supposedly mistreating and deserting Israel. He says that while Obama shows an “affinity with the Islamic world,” he has abandoned America’s alliance with Israel. But then Jackson goes on to praise the Iron Dome for preventing rocket attacks, either not knowing or caring that Obama secured the necessary funding to build the defense system. Unfortunately, for the Religious Right, no matter what Obama does hewillalwaysbeportrayed as a stealth Muslim adversary of Israel.
Why was there such a disconnect with young Israelis? Perhaps their apprehension can be attributed to our leader’s affinity with the Islamic world and the numerous perceived slights senior Israeli leaders have received from him.
In addition, Obama did not visit Israel as president, although he did travel there as a presidential candidate in 2008. After winning a large percentage of the Jewish American vote—as Democrats traditionally do—his seeming ambivalence or lukewarm treatment has given heartburn to both Jews and evangelical Christians.
Only the providence of God and Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system has miraculously prevented major casualties. It is little wonder that Israel is preparing for a ground invasion of Gaza. A year ago last spring, during my first trip to Israel, I was shocked at how close Gaza is to Israel.
The American public remains largely unaware of the magnitude of the conflict due to the general failure of the mainstream media to report accurately concerning the wrongs suffered by Israel. Instead, any measure Israel takes to defend itself is decried as brutal and over the top.
In the meantime, Israel’s enemies have boasted about its impending destruction. Most vocal today are the threats we hear from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is known to be supplying Hamas with their weapons.
On President Obama’s watch, the United States has gone from being a staunch ally to the only democracy in the Middle East to something like a silent peer. But Israel will not wait for our approval to defend itself, nor should it.
Judicial Watch founder Larry Klayman, who has previously claimed that President Obama’s campaign received donations from Iran’s government and was led by “self-hating Jews,” this week writes in WorldNetDaily that “Obama is as much a threat to Jews and Christians as is Hamas because he enables Hamas and those other Islamic groups bent on destroying us.” He writes that Obama won re-election despite his “destructive and anti-Semitic policies” in part due to “the ignorance if not stupidity of the 70 percent of the clueless American Jews who just voted to put him back in the White House for another four horrifying years.” The unintentionally-amusing Klayman concludes that while the “socialist Muslim” Obama is actively helping Islamist groups, he is at the same time a weak leader who is “unengaged” in the current conflict because of his trip to Southeast Asia.
I too felt a sense of assuredness, calm and, of course, pride as I waited in the lounge. My father and others urged me not to travel to Israel during this latest war. What would I have to gain and why should I take the chance, they asked. But, I was going anyway and nothing could keep me away – not just because this latest conflict is nothing new and will likely continue forever, but because I am a proud Jewish Christian and feel that Israel and its survival is synonymous with my American heritage. I am one with my people and will never forsake them. And, I am in Israel also on my professional and personal mission, to do whatever I can – particularly in light of the destructive and anti-Semitic policies and actions of President Barack Hussein Obama (our first and hopefully only “Muslim” president) and the ignorance if not stupidity of the 70 percent of the clueless American Jews who just voted to put him back in the White House for another four horrifying years. In my opinion, Obama is as much a threat to Jews and Christians as is Hamas because he enables Hamas and those other Islamic groups bent on destroying us. Regrettably, Obama’s pro-Arab policies and disdain for Jews, and Israel in particular, have encouraged terrorist organizations such as Hamas to continue and recently step up their strikes and rocket attacks on Israel. Now that Obama has been re-elected, it is even clearer to the Israelis that there is no time to lose in acting alone.
Consistent with the Israeli indifference to Obama, Obama is also “indifferent” to their security during this crisis. Predictably, he is off traveling in the Far East. As usual, he’s unengaged when it comes to the Middle East and America’ support of the Jewish state. So much the better, as his involvement could only make matters worse. Best to leave the socialist Muslim out in left field where he can do less harm to the vital interests of Jews and Christians in the Holy Land. We, as Jews and Christians, can and must take care of ourselves and don’t need or want Obama and his Muslim-sympathizing comrades in his administration to “help.”
Yesterday, Buster Wilson of the American Family Association said that God will punish and curse America for re-electing Obama over his supposed mistreatment of Israel. He also lamented that health care reform will not be repealed and that if Obama has the opportunity to appoint new justices to the Supreme Court then Roe v. Wade will not be overturned any time soon. Later, he added that “homosexuality and the demand for protected and equal rights will now succeed and sweep the nation” as schools will teach children “as young as kindergartners that homosexuality is an accepted lifestyle.”
Because of America’s choice last night, there are a few things I know. First, I know that the Supreme Court will now have the possibility of two, maybe three, justices that will be appointed by President Obama. During the next four years he will have definitely one Supreme Court justice retire, possibly two, and there is a possibility of a third that would retire. So that will give him the opportunity to appoint, as he has already done, ACLU-type liberal lawyers for the Supreme Court justices, if he gets the chance to appoint two or three he could change the balance of the court and that will be that way for the rest of our lives. It will take the rest of our lives before the court could be changed again. Because of that, what do we know? One thing that we know for sure, the long sought after and deeply longed for overturn of Roe v. Wade by those of us that believe that abortion is murder probably won’t happen. If you get more liberal justices in the Supreme Court you’re not going to see Roe v. Wade overturned. We’ll have to continue to fight that battle in different directions. Second thing I know for sure—number one the court will change and become more liberal for the rest of our lifetimes—he second thing I know is that Obamacare will not be repealed, Obamacare will be fully implemented in our lives.
The third thing I know is homosexuality and the demand for protected and equal rights will now succeed and sweep the nation. Four states voted for it in some fashion yesterday and that means that when they teach that homosexuality is an accepted lifestyle to your kindergartners like they did, I think it was in New Jersey or Chicago I don’t remember where it was, but it does happen even though they mock us and say we’re making this up. We’re not, they teach as young as kindergartners that homosexuality is an accepted lifestyle, when they do and you don’t like it, you’re not going to have any chance to do anything about it because this country is going to be swept off its feet in this direction by this president. The fourth thing I know, you can look for the sure judgment of God against our nation, the curse of Genesis 12, because we won’t treat Israel any better than we did before.
The Christian Broadcasting Network’s terrorism analyst Erick Stakelbeck has no credentials to report on security issues (he is a sports reporter), but that hasn’t stopped him from playing the role as “expert.” Stakelbeck appeared on The Janet Mefferd Show to repeat right-wing talking points to claim that President Obama is a failed leader. He said Obama is “using the bin Laden raid as his sole, only foreign policy talking point,” arguing that it doesn’t reflect “foreign policy” and that “anyone in their right mind” would have made the call to go into Pakistan to find bin Laden (unless you’reMitt Romney). But then Stakelbeck claimed that mission didn’t really matter since bin Laden “was basically isolated and neutralized at that point anyway.”
He went on to talk about how Obama is “empowering and emboldening the Muslim Brotherhood,” “throwing Israel under the bus” and “appeasing the Iranians,” and even said that Obama may pull of an “October surprise” by making a deal with Iran or sending troops into Libya. “Who knows what else they have up their sleeve, I have to say these are people who are leftist ideologues, they are hell-bent in their words ‘fundamentally transforming America,’ and I don’t think they’re going to go quietly,” he said.
Stakelbeck also discussed with Mefferd thenon-scandalinBenghazi, arguing that the President has turned into “Imam Obama” over his UN speech where he said: “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. But to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see in the images of Jesus Christ that are desecrated, or churches that are destroyed, or the Holocaust that is denied.” Stacelbeck decried the speech and lamented, “This is an American president saying that in front of the UN? This is madness,” apparently forgetting that President George W. Bush made similarstatements during the Muhammad cartoon controversy. He concluded that Muslim countries can never have democracy because “Islam and true democracy are not compatible.”
Stakelbeck: He goes in front of the UN two weeks later and blames this obscure YouTube clip that no one has seen that’s defaming Mohammad. Not only that, when he goes before the UN General Assembly in a stunning statement which the mainstream media also ignored, he says ‘the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.’
Mefferd: As if we all accept him as prophet, right?
Stakelbeck: Thank you Imam Obama. Not ‘Islam’s prophet,’ ‘the prophet of Islam.’ This is an American president saying that in front of the UN? This is madness.
Mefferd: I know.
Stakelbeck: I don’t believe that Islam and democracy are compatible. I know that’s a very controversial thing to say but if history is a judge and the Koran is a judge, then I believe that’s a fact, that Islam and true democracy are not compatible.
An amateurishly made video of an interview with Jerry Boykin, the Executive Vice President at the Family Research Council, recently popped up on YouTube, seemingly shot when Boykin was at the Values Voter Summit last month, in which he discussed his various conspiracy theories about the Muslim Brotherhood and the Middle East in general.
At the end of the video, Boykin asserted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had better be keeping a close eye on the polls tracking the presidential election in order 'to determine when was the best time for me to get the support of the American public, American Congress, and the American military [because] if it looks like Barack Obama has a real chance of being re-elected, if I was Netanyahu, I would strike Iran before the US election":
End Times enthusiast Tim LaHaye has recorded a Christian voter mobilization video for his wife Beverly's organization, Concerned Women for America, in which he declares the "liberal secularists" control the media, education, and the government and they "are not our friend; in fact I don't think they're friends of America" because they want to "destroy the culture."
But LaHaye's primary concern is America's relationship with Israel, as he claims that America has only been blessed by God "because we have been better to the Jew and Israel than any nation in the history of the world" and warns that "if we change that ... then we're going to incur the curse of God":
Rep. Louie Gohmert was the guest on yesterday's episode of "WallBuilders Live" for a discussion on "the present administration's attitude towards our Israeli allies."
During the interview, Gohmert repeatedly accused President Obama of undermining Israel while aiding and abetting Israel's enemies and said that if Obama promises that he has your back, you had better "be wearing something that will stop a knife":
We've learned over the last few years how to interpret what the President is saying. So now when he says, in the last couple of weeks, "I have Israel's back," what that means is he's going to watch over the shoulder of Israel as they play their cards and telegraph to Israel's opponents everything that Israel has in their hand ... Well, you do that not to a friend; you do that to someone you are betraying. So, I tell you when this president says "hey, I've got your back," I know I need to be wearing something that will stop a knife.
On today's episode of "WallBuilders Live," David Barton and Rick Green welcomed Rep. Randy Forbes (R-VA) to discuss why "it is not only important that we send a message of support to Israel, but it is important that that message is clear."
While introducing the program, Barton claimed that sided with Libertarians in thinking that the United States needed to reduce the amount of money it was spending on foreign aid, with one exception: Israel ... and that is because the Bible says so:
Barton: One of the areas where I will agree with Libertarians is that our foreign policy spending is way the heck out of bounds. The one where I'm going to draw an exception is we've got a business giving to Israel.
And you can say "well, it's not in the Constitution." Okay, I can say it's in Genesis 12:3. Genesis 12:3 told Abraham "I'm going to make a nation out of you and the way that other nations treat that nation is how I'm going to treat other nations." Now that's a great public policy reason for doing something with Israel. I might not do it with other nations there ... but He made it really clear whatever nation, the way they treat your descendents, you nation, I'm going to whack 'em or I'm going to bless 'em based on what happens there.
