March For Marriage

William Owens: 'We Must Be Willing To Die' In Fight Against 'Abnormal' LGBT Rights

Before addressing last week’s March for Marriage, where he called for a new anti-gay “civil rights movement,” Rev. William Owens appeared on “The Capitol Hill Show” with Tea Party News Network host Tim Constantine to promote the rally.

Owens told Constantine that allowing gay people to marry takes away his rights, without of course saying which rights he is losing exactly. He is suffering so greatly, in fact, that he called for “another civil rights movement to reclaim our rights” with people who are “willing to die” to oppose LGBT equality.

Constantine: When I talk to people around the country, I always hear support for traditional marriage and yet the gay movement continues to march on, some in the legislature, mostly in the courts. Have we gone to a place where we can’t turn back or can common sense prevail once again?

Owens: We can turn back but it’s going to take another civil rights movement to reclaim our rights. We must be willing to suffer, we must be willing to die, we must be willing to go to jail, that’s what it is going to take to turn around what these idiots have put in motion.

During a vicious rant against the “abnormal” transgender community, Owens railed against President Obama as “the most immoral president” in all of American history.

It’s a terribly slippery slope and marriage is just a small part of it. They plan to turn this whole society as if we have no gender. They are supporting any form of abnormal life with human beings. In the state of California today, boys can go to girls’ restrooms and girls can go to boys’ restrooms. This transgender thing, a teacher will be able to come to school dressed as a man one day and as a woman the next. It’s terrible that this president has started this country on an immoral course. I’ve said it then and I’ll say it again, he is the most immoral president we have ever had.

Owens also complained that Obama is acting like “he’s Almighty God” by supporting LGBT rights, including such wrongdoings as allowing “gays in the White House.”

The disgraceful thing about gay people adopting children: Two men, one pretending to be a woman; two women, one pretending to be a man. It’s absolutely disgraceful. When you do the studies, when you look at families, children need a female mother and a male father. I have two babies, I’ve got one one-year-old and one two-years-old, and those children know the difference in their mother and their dad. It’s just deplorable with this president, and I put it at the feet of the president, because he’s the one giving all of these orders as if he’s Almighty God, kingdom high, to embrace the community of gay parades, gays in the White House, he has endorsed it and has taken our course on a terribly slippery slope on the morals of this country.

Pastor Says 'Dismal Turnout' At NOM's March For Marriage Helps Satan, Seals America's Doom

While the National Organization for Marriage inexplicably stated that 10,000 people attended last week’s March for Marriage in Washington D.C., pastor Dan Cummins concedes in WorldNetDaily today that “reports put the turnout on the Capitol’s west-side lawn at 2,000.”

“The Mall should have been packed all the way to the Washington Monument with biblical marriage supporters,” Cummins laments, decrying the “dismal turnout” as just another victory for the Satanic left. Cummins writes that “the left, those left at the rapture, [are] desperately attempting to destroy” marriage because “Satan hates marriage.”

While “the March for Marriage ends in Heaven before God’s throne with a countless throng shouting the victory,” the pastor regrets that gay rights supporters used the “lack of support for nuptial bliss” at the march to argue that “marriage equality is becoming accepted by society and the church at large.”

He also cites a new poll showing lackluster opposition to marriage equality, lamenting, “God help us.”

As an electrical storm lit up the skies over the nation’s Capitol on the eve of the March for Marriage Rally, was it a harbinger, a sign, of the stormy road ahead for traditional, natural marriage in America? The National Organization for Marriage Rally (NOM), organized by Brian Brown on June 19, was left somewhat standing in the lurch, literally, on the lawn of the National Mall, as only a handful of the expected 10,000 “betrothed” bothered to make it to the church on time to march down the aisle, actually Constitution Avenue, kneel and pray outside the Supreme Court that marriage’s crumbling vestiges remain intact. Was it a case of a runaway bride?

Reports put the turnout on the Capitol’s west-side lawn at 2,000. This apparent lack of support for nuptial bliss only fuels those who say marriage equality is becoming accepted by society and the church at large – thus concluding, wrongfully in my opinion, that same-sex marriage should be legalized in all 50 states.

Has the church lost its first-love for biblical marriage? According to the marriage equality crowd and recent polling data released by TargetPoint Consulting (TPC), it has. “The majority of Americans continue to support same-sex marriage – and those who are opposed to marriage equality don’t care that much about it at all.”

The poll released by TPC, a Republican polling firm, reveals that the majority of Americans continue to support same-sex marriage. Alex Lundry, who was Mitt Romney’s data director, says anti-gay Americans are just ho-hum about same-sex marriage becoming the law of the land – bad news for the National Organization for Marriage if these polling figures are valid. The report continued that when asked to respond to recent statements made by Family Research Council President Tony Perkins – If the Supreme Court steps in and says, ‘We’re redefining marriage, same-sex marriage will be the law across the land,’ it will create a firestorm of opposition. This will be the straw that broke the camel’s back – 58 percent of same-sex marriage opponents said they “would do nothing, or that there wasn’t anything they would do, or that they would abide by the law of the land” should the Court take such legislative action.

Nothing! Really? God help us.

Soon, they all grow weary – foolish and wise alike – and all fall asleep. So, I’m not a bit surprised the church is sound asleep – all of it – on the issues confronting marriage. Could this explain Friday’s dismal turnout? The Mall should have been packed all the way to the Washington Monument with biblical marriage supporters. Where were they?

Why is the preservation of biblical marriage so important to our culture? Why is the left, those left at the rapture, desperately attempting to destroy it? Marriage is a picture of Christ and His church. It portrays the kingdom of God and his righteousness revealed on earth. That’s why Satan hates marriage.

The March for Marriage will not end with a small remnant praying before the Supreme Court. It will not end with blinded bloggers bloviating that the church has lost the battle and Christians could care less. No, the March for Marriage ends in Heaven before God’s throne with a countless throng shouting the victory.

Huckabee: Failure To Stop Gay Marriage Will Unleash God's Judgment Upon This Nation

Mike Huckabee closed out the March for Marriage today with a speech dedicated primarily to excoriating the nation's judicial system for striking down various bans on gay marriage and demanding that legislators, political leaders, and citizens alike all stop abiding by such rulings, warning that failure to do so will result in God unleashing his judgment upon this nation.

"There is no doubt in my mind," Huckabee said, "that this country would not exist had it not been for the providential hand of God. And I'm also convinced that if we reject his hand of blessing, we will feel his hand of judgment":

William Owens Never Marched 'One Foot For The Same Sex To Get Married'

Rev. William Owens, president of the NOM front organization known as the Coalition of African-American Pastors, spoke at today's March for Marriage where he declared that he had participated in "the real civil rights movement" and "didn't march one yard, one foot for the same sex to get married."

Saying that the push for marriage equality is nothing but a "bully movement," Owens declared that the fight against gay marriage is the modern civil rights movement and, as such, activists must refuse to comply with laws recognizing it and be willing to go to jail if necessary.

"Remember," Owens said, "it took two hundred and some years for the blacks to get their freedom; it will take us time but we can't do it just making speeches and talking, we got to show our force to America, we've got to let these politicians know, these weak-kneed, back-kneed, slimy backed politicians from the president on down know that we will not take it any more":

NOM's John Eastman Compares Supreme Court's DOMA Decision To Dred Scott

In his speech to the March for Marriage today, National Organization for Marriage chairman John Eastman compared the Supreme Court’s decision striking down a key part of the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act to the infamous Dred Scott decision.

Eastman cited Justice Scalia’s “call to arms” in his dissent to the DOMA decision, paraphrasing it as, “the court should never take away controversial issues away from the voters in this country.”

“The last time the court tried to do that a century and a half ago on the slavery question, Abraham Lincoln refused to comply,” he said.

Sam Rohrer Warns Marriage Equality Will Doom America, Bring About Divine Judgment

Sam Rohrer of the American Pastors Network had an ominous message for today’s March for Marriage: The legalization of same-sex marriage will “destroy the very fabric of our nation,” “invite God’s judgment” and “remove His blessing from our nation.”

The former GOP Pennsylvania lawmaker added that marriage equality will lead to “tyranny” and ensure that America will not “endure” as a nation.

Ruben Diaz Claims Satan Runs Public Schools

New York state Sen. Ruben Diaz told “March for Marriage” participants today that even if the Supreme Court legalizes same-sex marriage, they must continue the fight because the American people are behind them.

He pointed to the case of government organized prayer in public schools, which was ruled unconstitutional in the 1962 case Engel v. Vitale. As a result, Diaz maintained, Satan took over the schools, leading to waves of crime and disobedience.

Diaz said this year’s decision in Town of Greece v. Galloway proves that the cause to preserve government-sponsored prayer is not lost, and that anti-gay activists can win as well. He went on to falsely claim that neither voters nor lawmakers have voted to legalize same-sex marriage.

Tim Huelskamp Says 'Real Men' Oppose Marriage Equality, Protect 'Your Woman'

Rep. Tim Huelskamp, the chief sponsor of the Federal Marriage Amendment, had a message for “every man in America” at today’s March for Marriage: “Your woman, your wife, she needs you, it’s time you become a real man and stand up.”

Possibly under the impression that the legalization of same-sex marriage will break up opposite-sex unions, the Kansas Republican congressman emphasized that he loves his wife and believes that men who love their wives must join the fight to stop marriage equality.

“Be a real man of God because this is about you and your wife and your children,” he said.

Brian Brown Is Confident That Anti-Gay Activists 'Stand On The Right Side Of History'

Speaking at the March for Marriage rally today, National Organization for Marriage president Brian Brown declared that those fighting against marriage equality will never give up and will eventually be victorious because "we stand for the truth about marriage."

"We know that some day," Brown proclaimed, "whether it's one year, ten years, twenty years, or decades from now, people will look back at this time and remember those of us who stood up for the truth."

Then, quoting Abraham Lincoln, Brown declared that anti-gay activists "stand on the right side of history":

Jim Garlow Prophetically Declares That God's Definition Of Marriage Will Rule The Land

Jim Garlow kicked off today's national March for Marriage with a prayer, asserting that no court or legislature can ever change God's definition of marriage as between one man and one woman and therefore repenting on behalf of America before issuing a prophetic declaration that "marriage shall rule within the land, one man, one woman marriage will be established in this nation in honor of who you are as Almighty God":
