Obama impeachment

Conservative Activists Dream Of Military Arresting Obama

On Tuesday, Cliff Kincaid of the right-wing group Accuracy In Media stopped by “Trunews” where he spoke with host Rick Wiles about their dreams of the military arresting President Obama.

After Kincaid lamented that congressional Republicans “don’t want to talk impeachment,” Wiles wondered “why aren’t they saying we’re going to put handcuffs on this guy.”

“Yeah, well, that’s the meaning of high crimes and misdemeanors,” Kincaid replied, while cautioning that such an arrest will probably never happen.

“This is the only way you deal with a hooligan, you tell him we’re coming with handcuffs, we’re going to lock you up,” Wiles said. “I don’t think you can impeach Obama because he’s not a legitimate president, you and I both know he’s a foreign plant, he’s always been a communist agent inside this country and you don’t impeach somebody who went into that office through false pretense. It’s never happened in the republic, but the way you deal with that person is you arrest them.”

Wiles elaborated that he is pulling for the Marines to raid the White House: “It’s time that they recognize that he’s an imposter who is destroying the republic. My greatest, my most wonderful dream is seeing helicopters hovering over the White House with Marines repelling down on the roof and going in there and getting that rascal.

It’s a dream, it’s not going to happen, but that’s what should happen and it’s what would’ve happened many years ago in this country because God-fearing, patriotic men would never have permitted this criminal to get away with this stuff. So we are to blame as a people for allowing this criminal to pull off this crime,” he said.

Kincaid also repeated his call for the NSA to monitor Obama as a potential spy, telling Wiles that “we need a Venona Project modern day that’s going to monitor whether from the top on down, from Obama on down, who in our government is working with the enemy.”

He added that the government needs to use the NSA and other surveillance programs “against Obama” and “foreign onslaughts.”

Wayne Allyn Root: Impeach 'Traitorous' Obama

Right-wing activist Wayne Allyn Root is once again calling for action to remove President Obama from office, telling talk show host Dan Cofall earlier this month that Obama must be impeached for his diplomacy with Iran, which Root deems “traitorous,” and his execution action on immigration policy.

While nearly all experts believe that the president’s executive action will cover close to five million undocumented immigrants, Root insisted that the president will “legalize 34 million.”

“If he does that, don’t we then have to do instant impeachment? I mean, there’s no choice at that point. You can’t tell me that will break the nation apart, there’s no excuse,” he said.

Today, Root used his syndicated column to continue lashing out at the president, writing a bizarre holiday-themed post mockingly suggesting that Obama hire an Ebola-infected immigrant prepare his Thanksgiving meal:

It's almost Thanksgiving and the Christmas season is upon us. Many of us are already shopping for holiday gifts. So that inspired me to think up a holiday gift list that I hope and pray Obama receives for Christmas! Here are 15 perfect holiday gifts for Obama.

*Obama's Secret Service disarmed- since he doesn't think rest of us need guns for protection.

*Remove the fence around the White House- since Obama doesn't think we need a fence at our Southern border.

*A Christmas dinner at White House prepared and served by illegal immigrants who just arrived from the Ebola Zone- since he thinks rest of us shouldn't worry about Ebola (or illegal immigration).

*If Obama comes under withering fire from terrorists, may he call his favorite General and find him asleep with orders that he not be disturbed for the night. A little taste of the last moments of our heroes at Benghazi might be the ideal Christmas gift!

*And my last Christmas wish for Obama…

IMPEACHMENT in the New Year...prison time for fraud for every Obama aide involved in Obamacare…and a partridge in a pear tree.

Happy Holidays & God Bless everyone.

Steve King Compares Immigration Standoff To Fighting ISIS; Keeps Shutdown, Censure & Impeachment On The Table

In an interview with WorldNetDaily today, Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, compared the congressional GOP’s standoff with President Obama over immigration reform to the fight against ISIS, saying that the Republican caucus should be prepared to “use all the constitutional means at our disposal” and not take a government shutdown or impeachment proceedings off the table.”

“The president is holding a right hostage to an ultimatum,” he said. “We have a right to secure borders, we have a right to demand and expect that our president enforce the law, but he’s giving us an ultimatum that Congress can either pass amnesty or he’s going to commit it by a constitutional violation.”

“I think that we can’t take cutting off funding off the table,” he continued. “It’s about the equivalent of saying in the fight against ISIS that there will be no boots on the ground. Republicans should not make those kind of mistakes that the president has made in his messaging to ISIS. So that means that we should use all the constitutional means at our disposal.”

He added that “I want to do the minimum possible to restore the constitution,” which could include “cutting off the funding,” passing a motion to censure the president, or impeachment, which he called “the last resort, not one that I favor at all.”

Rep. Kelly: Impeaching Obama Not Off The Table Because He's Dragging America Into A Civil War

Rep. Mike Kelly, Republican of Pennsylvania, reacted angrily today to President Obama’s indication that he will soon temporarily relieve some undocumented immigrants of the threat of deportation, telling Newsmax host Ed Berliner that such a move will push the country into an “internal crisis” not seen since the days leading up to the Civil War.

Kelly told Berliner that House Republicans shouldn’t take impeachment off the table:

“The country is witnessing something right now that I don’t think in our entire history we’ve ever looked at, a constitutional crisis,” he said, calling it “sickening” that many Democrats have applauded Obama’s immigration stance.

Of course, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush also used executive action to change status of certain undocumented immigrants.

He also harkened back to the Civil War and recommended that the president read Rick Warren’s book “A Purpose Driven Life” to temper his ego: Right now in the history of our country we have never had such an internal crisis as we’ve had, not since the mid-1800s, of what we’re going through right now. Why would this president choose this issue and cause a constitutional crisis? I really suggest to him, there’s a book out that I read years ago, it was really a turning point in my life, by pastor Rick Warren and it’s called ‘A Purpose Driven Life’ and the very first words: ‘It’s not about me.’ This is the president who everything is about him, it’s about his legacy or what he’s going to say is his legacy. I would hate to see him go down in history, or maybe he wants to go down in history, as the guy who tore America apart.

Richard Viguerie Thinks Republicans And Democrats Alike Want To Impeach Obama

In an interview yesterday with WorldNetDaily’s Radio America, longtime conservative activist Richard Viguerie predicted that “a lot of Democrats” would back a GOP effort to impeach President Obama, or at least a vote to shut down the government, over his planned executive actions on immigration reform.

Viguerie said that voters of all stripes would back impeachment, which has the support of a majority of Republicans but only a third of Americans, because they would realize that Obama is “threatening our very form of government.”

I think the American people expect somebody who is threatening our very form of government, to be very, very serious and impeach the president if that’s the case or shut down the government, do whatever it is that will be effective in stopping this massive grasp for power. A lot of Democrats will support this action too because this is now threatening our form of government here. I think the grassroots, not only Republicans but the grassroots voters do expect some serious opposition to granting amnesty to maybe up to 6 million illegal aliens. I think if the Republican leaders were serious they would find the American people would be very supportive of strong action.

He said Republican congressional leaders shouldn’t just “talk a tough game” but finally move to impeach Obama to stop his looming dictatorship.

“It’s such a threat to our democracy that the Republicans should use all means available to oppose this effort, including impeachment as well as shutting down the government if that’s what it takes to protect our form of government,” he said. “We can’t allow Obama to become a dictator.”

Viguerie said that such actions wouldn’t damage the popularity of the GOP, insisting that “the American people are behind the Republican leaders in an effort to stop this outrageous usurpation of power.”

Schlafly: Impeach Obama For Advocating 'Suicide For America,' Turning U.S. 'Into Something Like The Third World Countries'

Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly believes that President Obama’s upcoming announcement on temporary relief for some undocumented immigrants will lead to “suicide for America because he would be bringing in people who will vote Democratic.”

“I think it’s worth impeachment, but I don’t think that’s going to happen,” she told the far-right outlet WorldNetDaily, adding that the president wants to “bring us down” and “fundamentally transform our country into something like the Third-World countries.”

“If he goes ahead with his plans, I think it’s suicide for America, because he would be bringing in people who will vote Democratic. That’s his plan,” Schlafly said. “And bringing people the American people do not want, and he’s already bringing in all kinds of diseases.”

Schlafly doesn’t think the United States would survive in its current form under a massive grant of amnesty. She even agreed the collapse may happen by 2025, as conservative author Patrick Buchanan suggested in the title of his 2011 book, “Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?”

“[Obama] is trying to fundamentally transform our country into something like the Third-World countries, because he thinks it’s just really unfair that we’re better, richer, freer and more prosperous, and he’d like to bring us down to the level of other countries,” Schlafly said.

The longtime conservative activist said she expects another border surge, like the one this past summer, once word of Obama’s “deferred action” plan spreads throughout Central America. She also thinks amnesty by executive action rises to the level of a high crime or misdemeanor.

“I think it’s worth impeachment, but I don’t think that’s going to happen,” Schlafly said.

She sees Obama and other Democratic Party leaders as complicit in the importation of people who don’t share the American value of self-reliance.

“The Democrats know perfectly well that the people coming in are people who are not accustomed to our ideas of self-government and limited government, and they expect government to take care of them, and that’s what we’re doing,” Schlafly said in an interview.

Tony Perkins: Impeach Obama For Immigration Action

Yesterday, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins once again called for President Obama’s impeachment, telling “Washington Watch” listeners that Obama deserves to be impeached for using executive action to relieve some immigrants of deportation.

“What the president is about to do on amnesty is essentially tell, using his authority as the chief executive, the president, to the executive branch, Homeland Security, immigration, not to enforce the law, which is a violation of his oath to uphold the law,” Perkins said. “I think there is already, but clearly with this, if he takes this approach on amnesty and immigration — if the president does not uphold the law then that’s an impeachable act. Now you don’t impeach somebody because you don’t like their policies, it’s when they fail to uphold or abide by the law.”

Perkins added that Obama’s imminent announcement on immigration policy will undermine the republic, arguing that the message of last week’s election was a rejection of Obama’s “lawlessness.”

Sandy Rios: Impeach 'Socialistic' Obama For Immigration Action

The American Family Association’s Sandy Rios today called on conservatives to voice their support for impeaching President Obama over his upcoming executive action on immigration reform, telling listeners that “the president has committed many impeachable offenses but impeachment cannot take place unless the will of the people is behind it.”

“The word that no one wants to talk about is the word ‘impeachment,’” Rios said on her daily radio show, insisting that Obama “is far more dangerous than Bill Clinton ever was.”

“Bill Clinton was immoral, selfish, a narcissist with a leftist view, but nothing, nothing, nothing compared to the bizarre, out-of-control, narcissistic, leftist, socialistic leader that we have right now who is running amok,” she said.

At least one of her listeners seems to think that Obama may cancel the next presidential election, telling Rios that the president “is a Muslim and believes in the Muslim life” who is “trying to bankrupt this nation so that he can declare martial law and therefore there will be no more elections.”

Rios replied that the caller is right to believe that “part of his goal is bankrupting the country, I don’t know how you can argue otherwise because that is exactly what he is doing and I think whether he is waiting for martial law to be declared or not I don’t know, I hear from people in the know here that he is trying to divide and cause tremendous dissension in the Republican Party.”

Glenn Beck: Obama 'Would Have Been Impeached Years Ago' If Media Decided To 'Tell The Truth'

Glenn Beck attacked the media on his radio show today for their coverage of President Obama, arguing that the president would no longer be in office if the media “just started to tell the truth.”

The right-wing pundit was especially upset that the media didn’t embrace his 2009 campaign against Van Jones, whose short-lived White House post as an advisor on “green jobs” Beck thinks should have brought down the president.

“He wouldn’t be president, he would have been impeached years ago…if they would have been telling the truth the whole time, he would’ve been impeached,” Beck said. “Quite honestly, he would not have made it—if it was anyone else, he would not have made it through Van Jones.”

Michael Savage: GOP Must Impeach 'Dictator' Obama 'Before It's Too Late'

Yesterday on his radio show, Michael Savage diagnosed President Obama with megalomania and said Congress must act quickly to remove him from office before he becomes a dictator and seizes “absolute power.”

“Should he be impeached? Yes. The question is, on what grounds?” Savage asked, before hawking his book “Stop the Coming Civil War.”

“This book, these 300 pages and 35 pages of references, is the document that must be used by John Boehner to seek impeachment of the president before it’s too late.”

Michael Savage: GOP Must Impeach Obama, Stop Him Before He 'Triggers An Insurrection'

Reacting to President Obama’s post-election press conference yesterday, right-wing talk show host Michael Savage declared that the president is “not a sound man” and urged Republicans in Congress to impeach him.

Savage argued that a secretive, powerful circle “selected” Obama to become president when he was a high school student at the Punahou School, and now he has gone mad with power:

If you look at his eyes while he’s speaking, and I’m a student of many different things, his eyes are not that of a sound man. The man is not connected to reality, he has always lived in a protected bubble, the skids have been greased for him since childhood. He was hand-selected by a group of very powerful people, early on, way back, I think even before Columbia University, probably at Punahou, he was selected, they made him president. He has never had a defeat like this in his life and it’s not that he doesn’t know how to deal with it, he’s refusing to accept that he had a defeat, it had nothing to do with him, it’s somebody else’s fault.

So what needs to be done? He needs to be impeached. If he keeps this up, if he grants executive amnesty to the illegals, if he goes ahead with all of his crazy garbage on global warming nonsense, he’s got to be impeached. It’s that simple. The time to stop the impeachment movement against Barack Obama will be the day he signs the executive action on amnesty. It’s that simple.

He must be impeached. The Republicans will have nothing to do at that point and that’s when we have to push Rand Paul and the conservatives in the movement, maybe [Joni] Ernst, she may have to go there and she may have to say ‘I’m leading the charge, we’re going to stop the insanity today, we’re going to have to impeach this man because he’s a clear and present danger to the republic.’ It has been done before, it can be done now, there’s no excuse for it.

After describing Obama as the “poster boy” for his book “Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder,” Savage said Obama is being propped up by a “secret cabal of individuals who have hand picked him” and turned him into a “psychopath.”

Savage then wondered if Obama may “try to trigger some sort of insurrection,” warning that administration officials (and George Soros!) might start “planning some kind of phenomenally dangerous action to trigger an insurrection in this country to declare themselves more power. It could happen here, with a man as back to the wall as this and with a man as out of touch with what he did to his own party as this, I would think anything I possible.”

He said Obama’s press conference reminded him of Adolf Hitler and his officers “underground in a bunker with Berlin collapsing around them plotting to still win the war.”

Paul Vallely: Impeach Obama, Put Administration Officials On Trial For Treason

Paul Vallely gave a rambling Election Day interview to “Trunews” host Rick Wiles yesterday, in which he called on Congress to move swiftly to impeach President Obama.

Vallely, who once called for a “citizen’s arrest” of Obama and even a coup, said Obama should face impeachment “because of the treasonous events that have occurred in violation of our Constitution.”

In fact, Vallely said that Obama and other administration officials should be put on trial for treason.

After Wiles alleged that “Barack Obama is a jihadist,” Vallely called the president a “radical Islamic sympathizer” who is guilty of “aiding and abetting the enemy.”

“This national security team needs to be tried for treason,” the retired Army general added.

Vallely told Wiles that Obama is “sympathetic to the Muslim radical Islam and the caliphate. It’s all very clear. You can see it, I can see it, others are seeing it, but the vast amount of American people seem to be blind against these threats to these United States. We’ve had ISIS that’s even been captured coming across our southern border into Texas.”

Tom Tancredo: Republicans Should Impeach Obama If They Win The Senate

Former congressman Tom Tancredo wants Republicans in Congress “to immediately file articles of impeachment against the president” if he uses executive action to block the deportation of some undocumented immigrants.

“If Republicans capture the majority in the U.S. Senate as now appears almost certain,” Tancredo explains in his weekend WorldNetDaily column, the GOP congressional leadership should gather the “courage to follow the Constitution and impeach the man.”

With President Obama determined to declare an executive amnesty program for 5 to 10 million illegal aliens soon after next week’s midterm elections, citizens across the nation are wondering what the Republican Party plans to do to stop it.

The well-understood way to block the president from implementing his giant amnesty plan, an unconstitutional action that he has arrogantly advertised in advance, is to impeach the president.

There could be intermediary steps attempted, such as blocking funding needed to implement the amnesty and filing lawsuits challenging the legality of the plan. Those steps should be undertaken, but they might be circumvented. The only certain way to halt the massive amnesty is to immediately file articles of impeachment against the president.

There have always been two main arguments against impeachment even among those who support it in principle – first, that it is not practical because it would never succeed in the Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate, and secondly that, well, you just can’t impeach the first black president no matter what he has done. But given the likely new political circumstances post-Nov. 4, both of those arguments have lost their power.

If Republicans capture the majority in the U.S. Senate as now appears almost certain, the 2015 Congress is a new ballgame. If the House were to bring impeachment charges based on not only the amnesty but several other unconstitutional actions, do Democratic senators want to run for re-election in 2016 on a platform that starts with apologizing for Obama’s unconstitutional behavior?

Here’s the key question: Is Obama so popular now that Democrats in 2015 and 2016 will fall on their swords to defend him? Do Senate Democrats want a vote against impeachment to be the defining issue in their 2016 campaigns, while also defending the influx of millions of additional illegal aliens across our unguarded borders?

The Obama presidency is self-destructing. All that is needed to neutralize his planned amnesty and other unconstitutional actions is Republican courage to follow the Constitution and impeach the man. Anything less will simply pave the way for more of the same – not only on immigration, but on energy, welfare, voting rights and other issues.

Tony Perkins: 'If Republicans Capture The Senate, There's No More Excuses About Impeachment'

Yesterday, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins once again demanded that Congress impeach and remove President Obama from office, telling a caller on his “Washington Watch” radio show that the GOP must go through with impeachment after the midterm elections.

When a caller asked why Republicans haven’t made impeachment into an election issue, Perkins responded that they should pursue it if the elections go there way: “If the Republicans do capture the Senate, there’s no more excuses about impeachment. See, what we’ve heard so far is how we can’t do that because we’d never get it through the Senate, the House could impeach him but the Senate would never convict, it would just be a waste of time. Well, if they have control of the Senate it won’t be.”

Of course, it takes a two-thirds vote in the Senate to remove a president.

Tony Perkins: America Will Never Accept Marriage Equality And 'Oppressive' Gay Rights Agenda

On yesterday’s edition of “Washington Watch,” Family Research Council President Tony Perkins lamented that same-sex marriage “is being forced upon the American people,” insisting that a majority of Americans will never support marriage equality.

Perkins said that just as reproductive rights debates are still contentious because legal abortion “runs contrary to nature,” gay marriage will similarly never be “resolved” until it is banned throughout the nation.

“I don’t care what they do, how oppressive government becomes in order to force this agenda through, they will never force Americans to accept this, the majority of Americans to accept it. Won’t happen,” he said. “Some may go silent, some may be carried away but they will not resolve this issue, trust me.”

Later in the show, Perkins reiterated his support for impeaching President Obama: “If something’s wrong, it’s wrong. Whether or not you can get the conviction that you desire, it’s still wrong and the House has the responsibility and the ability to charge him for this and I think it puts him on notice.”

“This president has systematically seen himself as above the law and I think this has done irreparable damage to the republic and to our form of government,” Perkins said. “Every time we stretch the limits, some of the elasticity goes out. It’s like those gym shorts, when you stretch them out they don’t always go back and I’m afraid that’s what this president is doing, he’s gone and stretched those gym shorts.”

Alan Keyes: Impeach Obama For Ebola And 'Promoting Homosexuality'

Alan Keyes spoke yesterday with WorldNetDaily about his campaign to impeach President Obama, telling the right-wing outlet that his 2004 U.S. Senate opponent should be impeached because of Ebola, Benghazi, legal abortion and gay rights.

Keyes told WND that Obama is leveling a “malicious attack on the people of the United States” by exposing “the general population of our country to dreadful disease,” even going so far as to link the Ebola virus to the 2012 Benghazi attack.

After wondering if “we actually have people who are vested formally with the power of the executive branch of government who have been aiding and abetting open and declared enemies of the United States,” he called on Congress to investigate Obama administration officials for treason.

Keyes then warned that the White House is “forcing people to raise up their children in a way that promotes homosexuality, forcing people to use their money and time and labor in order to promote and approach to marriage that is contrary to the common good of all humanity” and “forcing people to accept as right the murder of posterity in the womb.”

Keyes also told WND’s Paul Bremmer that court rulings in favor of gay rights remind him of slavery and described Obama as a proponent of “communist socialism”:

“He is basically violating his sworn duty, which is to see that the laws are faithfully executed, and to uphold and preserve the Constitution of the United States.”

Second, Keyes said, Obama has abused the force of law by coercing people into violating their consciences. He specifically mentioned policies that force people to either accept or subsidize abortion, “gay marriage” and the homosexual lifestyle, saying such policies violate the First Amendment.

“When Obama gets out there and starts abusing, and others like him, they abuse the court system in order to force people to accept the view that something is right, when according to the laws of nature and of nature’s God it is self-evidently wrong. They are abusing conscience,” Keyes said.

He compared this abuse of conscience to slavery.

“When I read about the slavery of my ancestors, what touched me most and what seemed most horrific to me was not that somebody would force you to labor, not that somebody would force you with whips and stripes and things like this to do their bidding, but when their bidding absolutely contradicted your conscientious understanding of what God required. That they could force you to do evil. And that’s what’s happening in our country now,” Keyes said.

“He sees himself in the vanguard of the dialectic that is going to destroy and replace bourgeois, constitutional self-government based on rights and respect for the dignity of the human person,” Keyes said. “He’s going to replace that with his vision of the historical imperative of communist socialism, or whatever he’s about.”

“The facts suggest he is kind of brilliant,” Keyes said. “He’s a brilliant destroyer of everything American, of every right, of every liberty, of every constitutional premise of this country’s life. He’s brilliant at it, and we are now starting to look like stupid fools for letting him get away with it.”

Alan Keyes: Obama Has 'Declared War On Our Posterity'

Alan Keyes is out with yet another column calling for Congress to impeach and remove President Obama, arguing that his 2004 U.S. Senate opponent should face impeachment proceedings over his handling of immigration, ISIS and Ebola.

Keyes suggests Obama is enacting “destructive policies” in a deliberate attempt to endanger American lives, establish “tyranny” and “permanently cripple America’s liberty.”

“But from abortion to crushing debt, from dissolute spending to the sinister promotion of specious ‘rights’ that dissolve the natural integrity of family life, the present generation of self-serving elitist faction political leaders has declared war on our posterity,”Keyes writes. “And so have all Americans who tolerate their continual betrayals of the genius of the American people, betrayals that must inevitably despoil our posterity of the blessings of liberty.”

From what I'm reading these days, Obama's response to the threatened spread of the Ebola epidemic is finally compelling other people to question the assumption of patriotic goodwill Americans are naturally inclined to make about the individual who occupies the White House. As WND editor and CEO Joseph Farah wrote in a recent column about Obama's Ebola strategy:

With at least 4000 military personnel...being sent into the hot zone, it's a near certainty some of them will contract the deadly disease. What then? Naturally, they will be brought home, with some risk of furthering the infection in the homeland.... Is this a purposeful effort to destroy the U.S. military? Whether it is or not, that is the effect it will surely have.

This is, of course, not the first time during Obama's White House tenure that Americans have been forced to ask themselves whether incompetence or malice is to blame for the undeniably destructive effect of Obama's policies on the lives, strength, and security of the people and institutions he is supposed to serve.

Though Obama and his collaborators (including many in the GOP's elitist faction leadership) couch it in terms of dreamy jobs and economic opportunity, their push to legitimize illegal immigration into the United State has already damaged the nation's health. It is now being openly admitted that it gives terrorist cadres (including agents of the Islamic State's anti-American terror campaign) opportunities to enter and disperse throughout the country.

The way to stop Obama in his tracks is to use impeachment to call him before the bar of constitutional accountability, and then to conduct the process that will put every representative and senator on the spot, with the choice to remove Obama and his collaborators, or declare themselves complicit in the destructive policies the Obama faction has pursued and the precedents for tyranny they are seeking to establish.

Of course, this proper constitutional proceeding would set the record straight, thwarting those who mean to use Obama's tenure as the excuse and justification for the tyranny they are determined to impose upon us. Such proceeding would serve our posterity, even if it failed to remove a lame duck president. For it would help to assure that his malicious precedents did not permanently cripple America's liberty.

But from abortion to crushing debt, from dissolute spending to the sinister promotion of specious "rights" that dissolve the natural integrity of family life, the present generation of self-serving elitist faction political leaders has declared war on our posterity. And so have all Americans who tolerate their continual betrayals of the genius of the American people, betrayals that must inevitably despoil our posterity of the blessings of liberty. Together they are creating a record for this generation that will make it a loathsome byword in the minds of our posterity, at least for any still capable of remembering what it means to be free.

Michael Savage: Ebola Could Be A 'Blessing' That Prompts Obama's Removal From Office

In an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones last week, conservative radio host Michael Savage said President Obama plans to “use Ebola as a pretext” to exercise authoritarian control over the United States.

“He wants an insurrection,” Savage said of Obama. “He wants his Kristallnacht. He wants to take the guns, he wants to arrest people, he wants to detain people for their own safety.” Rather than getting impeached, Savage continued, Obama “is liable to use [Ebola] to gain even more power.”

Fortunately, Savage sees the bright side of an Ebola outbreak, hoping the virus might be a blessing in disguise if it “saves us from this psychotic in the White House.”

“You’re gonna think I’m a little weird here when I say that Ebola may be the silver lining,” he said. “Maybe that’s gonna awaken people to the fact that this man is not only incompetent, but that his radical open-borders agenda is gonna kill all of us. Just maybe, this could be a blessing.”

Jones warned that Obama may use Ebola as a “false flag and try to blame it on the liberty movement,” while Savage said Obama may remain as president even after his second term expires.

Complaining that the United States has not enacted a travel ban on people from regions where the disease is found, Savage argued that the president has less common sense than “third-world African dictators.”

Savage then attacked the “mentally ill” Democratic lawmakers in Congress who he said enable the president. “I think they’re crazy, they’re drugged, they’re on medication, antidepressants, they don’t know what the hell they’re talking about,” Savage offered as a diagnosis.

Alan Keyes: Violent Conflict May Be Necessary If Congress Doesn't Oust Obama

Alan Keyes has been attempting to rally conservatives to back the impeachment and removal of President Obama, telling them that if Congress doesn’t act, then violence may ensue.

Keyes writes today in WorldNetDaily that just as the Founding Fathers detailed their grievances before launching the American Revolution, the House of Representatives can use impeachment to “to substantiate the morally reasonable basis for their stand in defense of liberty. It allows and requires them to justify, before God and the decent opinion of humankind, why they are conscientiously determined to stand even despite the vicissitudes of war, rather than submit to tyranny.”

He argues that if the Senate “shields the perpetrators of executive abuses, even when, to a large majority of the people, their abuse have become insufferable,” then outright rebellion becomes an option.

In an oft-quoted observation (made in a letter to William Stephens Smith in November 1787), Thomas Jefferson wrote:

“… what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

These days, Jefferson’s words understandably resonate with patriotic Americans disgruntled by Obama’s repeated and tyrannical derelictions and abuses of power. But is the patriotic reaction against them rooted in respect for the merits of the Constitution, reasonably thought through and understood? Or does it result from an unreasoning, blindly habitual attachment which, on that account, violates the logic of the Constitution, as well as that of the Revolution in political thought from which it emerged?

Assuming that Jefferson’s above quoted words are true, we realize that, under certain circumstances, the particular provisions for impeaching and removing the president and vice president may end up being the prelude for armed conflict. This may occur if and when a sufficient minority in the U.S. Senate stubbornly shields the perpetrators of executive abuses, even when, to a large majority of the people, their abuse have become insufferable. The language of the American Declaration of Independence marks this as the point at which the people’s right to resist tyranny becomes a natural obligation. It was the standard the founders of the United States articulated and upheld when they revolted against the tyranny initiated by certain enactments of King George III, which they enumerated in the Declaration.

The U.S. Constitution provides for the people, to investigate and indict intolerable abuses in a peaceful, orderly fashion, through their representatives in the House of Representatives, and with just reasoning and due process, to impeach high officials for their unlawful conduct. It also respects the practical lesson that can be drawn from the history of representative government in Great Britain. That history was known to many in the founding generation. They knew that it was the English House of Commons that provided the institutional rallying point and focus for resistance to tyranny. So, under the U.S. Constitution, the governmental body most immediately dependent on the people’s suffrage is charged with the systematic investigation and articulation of tyrannical injustices.

But by giving a somewhat more independent body, the U.S. Senate, responsibility for delivering the first verdict on any such offenses, the founders aimed to provide a safeguard against distempers occasioned by frivolous or tolerably transient complaints. But in any case, the Constitution’s provisions for public impeachment and trial involve the development of a permanent record of the reasonable deliberations of the people, like the record of deliberate remonstration laid down by the American colonists in the season before they declared their independence from Great Britain.

The impeachment provisions of the U.S. Constitution give people the means and opportunity to substantiate the morally reasonable basis for their stand in defense of liberty. It allows and requires them to justify, before God and the decent opinion of humankind, why they are conscientiously determined to stand even despite the vicissitudes of war, rather than submit to tyranny.

Clearly, therefore, even if a stubbornly tyrannical Senate minority prevents conviction, as a matter of practical fact the process of impeachment makes an indispensable contribution to the moral cause of liberty. In light of this, have you joined the Pledge to Impeach mobilization? If so, are you doing everything you can to encourage others you can influence to do likewise? In these last weeks before the November elections, the duty involved grows more imperative with every passing day.

Tony Perkins: Congress Must Be Courageous And Impeach Obama

Yesterday on “Washington Watch,” Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council said that Congress is suffering from a lack of courage.

If congressmen were really brave, Perkins explained, then they would vote to impeach President Obama.

Perkins made the remarks while discussing the opening hearing of the House Benghazi Special Committee: “We are a society, a government that operates under the rule of law and when we have people who don’t want to play by the rules, it really doesn’t work. And that’s why this president has messed thing up so much, he doesn’t want to play by the rules. And Congress is too fearful, too politically-minded to impeach this president because they’re fearful. We need leaders who are not fearful.”
