Perkins: Hate Crime Laws are a Sign of 'Chaos in America'

During Glenn Beck’s Under God: Indivisible conference, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins recounted his days as a Louisiana state legislator fighting a hate crime law which included sexual orientation as a protected category along with classifications like race, religion, disability and gender. Perkins lamented that a “full time lobbyist for the homosexual community” helped pass the language over his objections and bemoaned that legislators were ignorant the amendment would lead to “indoctrination of our children in schools and the loss of religious freedom and the freedom of speech.”

Seeing that the law was passed in 1997, Perkins did not make clear how Louisiana students are being indoctrinated into homosexuality or who has lost their religious freedom or freedom of speech over the last fifteen years, but he did assert that the law was a sign of “chaos in America.”

Harry Jackson: Gays 'Want to Recruit Your Kids,' Conservative Christians Must 'Steal Back the Rainbow'

Speaking at Glenn Beck’s Under God Indivisible Conference, anti-gay Bishop Harry Jackson unleashed a screed against marriage equality and called upon Christians to unite against gay rights in a new ‘rainbow coalition’, saying that religious leaders must “steal back the rainbow. We can’t let the gays have it.” Jackson was apparently not referencing the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, a civil rights organization founded by Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Jackson, a key figure in the Religious Right’s outreach to African American Christians, has previously said that gay rights advocates are trying to recruit young people “just like during the times of Hitler,” and that gay marriage is part of a “satanic plot” to destroy the family.

Watch:

If marriage is redefined, then the family is redefined, is redefined, who has children and how that operates is redefined, if the family is redefined then education is redefined. That’s how you “Heather has two mommies” being taught to 2nd graders and eight-year-old kids in Massachusetts and California, and folks who cannot reproduce want to recruit your kids. What we’re facing is a radical force of people that want to change the way America looks for the next twenty years and we’re going to have to stop this thing now.

It’s gonna take a black and brown revolution, us working together in a broader, what I want to call, a rainbow coalition, a new rainbow coalition. We need to steal back the rainbow. We can’t let the gays have it. We’re the rainbow coalition. We’re the army of god. We’re the covenant people of god. We have got to break the division that has tried to keep us apart. I guarantee you if we united in this generation, we’ll unite in this season, nothing shall be impossible to us, the church of the living god, and we are going to take back America in the name of the lord Jesus Christ. Yes! Come on let’s say it, ‘yes we can, say it yes we can!’

Reed: If Christians Beg God's Forgiveness, then He'll 'Have Mercy on our Land' this November

Speaking at the "Under God: Indivisible" rally organized by James Robison to coincide with Glenn Beck's "Restoring Love" event, Ralph Reed declared that the upcoming election to be the most important one since right before the Civil War.

Reed called upon Christians to "get down on our faces and on our knees before Almighty God" and beg Him to forgive them "for what we have allowed to happen to this country."  If they do, Reed said, then "in November, God is going to have mercy on our land":

Copeland: The Devil is Trying to Destroy America with Progressive Socialism

While addressing the "Under God: Indivisible" rally ahead of Glenn Beck's "Restoring Love" event, televangelist Kenneth Copeland declared that he doesn't need to form opinions about things like the Supreme Court's health care ruling or the state of the economy because he trusts in God.

As such, Copeland declared, if Christians would just put their trust in God, they would know that it was "our time to rise up and overcome all that the Devil has been trying to do to destroy this nation with progressive socialism for over a hundred and fifteen years - it is finished, it is done!":

Aryeh Spero Likens Fight Against Obama to Elijah's Struggle Against Ahab

During the Under God Indivisible Conference at Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Love” rally, Caucus for America’s Aryeh Spero in a thinly-veiled attack on President Obama appeared to compare him to Ahab, the king of Israel who along with his wife Jezebel promoted Baal worship. Just as Obama was like Ahab, all those participating in “Restoring Love” are like Elijah, the prophet who denounced him. Spero said that the political left derives from Ahab, who “wished to transform the nation” and “subjugated the people,” while Elijah and his allies fought “leftist paganism” and “restored love and faith.”

“Political leftism, socialism, Marxism and naked secularism are simply today’s variation on ungodly themes and forms of paganism found as far back as biblical times,” Spero said, calling on attendees to “make sure a President does not crown himself Caesar.”

Referring to the Supreme Court case Engel v. Vitale, which struck down school organized prayer, Spero said that “the assault against our values and America” started in 1962, but hoped that 2012 can become a “jubilee year where we as a nation finally free ourselves from the sway and intimidation of political left liberalism.”

Watch:

This is not a new battle but the continuation of the battle of the ages, the most worthy of all battles. Political leftism, socialism, Marxism and naked secularism are simply today’s variation on ungodly themes and forms of paganism found as far back as biblical times. As outlooks on life they are at their core immoral paradigms, their so-called morality is but moral relativism, their call for tolerance is but the wholesale abandonment of standards. But we know that standards are necessary for the preservation of civilization. They speak of social justice but their intention is to institute socialism. In the Book of Kings we are told there arose in Israel, a King named Omri and later his son Ahab, both desire to rob the nation of its God and its origin, both wished the nation to forget its identity and nationality, they wished to transform the nation. They subjugated the people and stole their vineyards and set up idols to contradict the nation’s historic ethos. You see, with God there is liberty, without God and with an all-powerful state, subjugation and immorality set it. But Elijah and others fought the idols and the king and the laws of leftist paganism came crumbling down. They acted, they were daring and brave, thy restored love and faith. Back home in our communities, our people are looking to us for that bravery and assertiveness.

Now you may ask, what about render onto Caesar that which is Caesar’s? No my friends, in this nation we determine our Caesars and all the little Caesars. Better yet, we make sure a President does not crown himself Caesar. The assault against our values and America began 50 years ago around 1962, so let us declare 2012 the year of jubilee, the jubilee year where we as a nation finally free ourselves from the sway and intimidation of political left liberalism, now is the time.

Beck: The Religious Right Will Make World Leaders 'Pee Their Pants'

In conjunction with Glenn Beck's "Restoring Love" event in Dallas last weekend, James Robison organized a "Christian Leadership Conference" featuring a variety of Religious Right activists and preachers called "Under God: Indivisible."

Video of the conference has now been posted on Robison's website and we have begun working our way through it, starting with evening gathering where Beck took to the stage and hailed the gathered speakers as "the greatest collection of men that I know," praising them for being willing to stand up and "wield the sword of righteousness" because doing so will make "the leaders of the world ... pee their pants."

Beck went on to explain that he knows history "the way David Barton knows history" and proclaim that the speakers at this event were just like the men who led the American Revolution who were the first to be rounded up and killed because tyrants know that "any population that follows God wins":

Glenn Beck Calls in the Religious Right Calvary for Pre-Restoring Love Meeting

One of the most telling features of Glenn Beck’s 2010 Restoring Honor rally were the overtly religious themes of the rally, along with the launching of a Black Robe Regiment filled with right-wing leaders. The day before Beck’s latest really, Restoring Love, Beck and David Barton are hosting a who’s who of Religious Right activists for a “Christian Leadership Conference” called Under God: Indivisible, including some of the most prominent anti-gay preachers, activists and televangelists in the country:

David Barton

Tony Perkins

Ralph Reed

  • Led the Christian Coalition alongside Pat Robertson but left following reports of financial misconduct, now heads the Faith and Freedom Coalition.
  • Alleges that America “lost its way” by helping the poor, putting liberty in “danger.”

John Hagee

James Robison

Rick Scarborough

Harry Jackson

  • Alleges that gay rights supporters are recreating the “times of Hitler” and are leading a “Satanic plot” against the black family.
  • Asserts that gay rights will “bring us under” just like the iceberg that hit the Titanic.

Jim Garlow

Richard Land

Ken Hutcherson

  • Hoped to lead an anti-gay marriage rally that would be a “spiritual bomb” comparable to the 2004 terrorist attack in Madrid, Spain.
  • Wants the “promotion” of homosexuality banned just like “sugar and fatty foods in schools” since it is “dangerous and unnatural.”

Kenneth Copeland

  • Contends God didn’t create gay people just like “He didn’t create anybody to be a murderer, He condemned murder; he didn’t create anybody a homosexual, ’cause He condemned homosexuality.”

Aryeh Spero
