Personhood USA: Charge Women Who Have Abortions With Murder

Personhood USA, the group that has been attempting to pass state-level fetal “personhood” measures across the country, is applauding the attempted murder prosecution of a Tennessee woman who tried to give herself an abortion with a coat hanger, lamenting that women who obtain safe and legal abortions don't face the same penalty.

The Tennessee woman, Anna Yocca, was charged with attempted first-degree murder when she attempted to abort at 24-week pregnancy with a coat hanger in her bathtub. She panicked, went to the hospital, and delivered a 1.5 pound baby. A police spokesman told the media that “the whole time [Yocca] was concerned for her health, her safety, and never gave any attention to the health and safety to the unborn child.”

Sadly, Yocca’s case is not unique. A woman in Indiana was similarly charged with allegedly attempting to self-induce an abortion earlier this year. In fact, stealth “personhood” measures — meant to lay the groundwork for criminalizing abortion by granting certain rights to fetuses — have been passed around the country. In Alabama, the state supreme court has used “chemical endangerment” laws to lay the legal groundwork for fetal personhood, leading to the prosecutions of nearly 500 women accused of endangering their fetuses.

In an email to Personhood USA supporters today, the group’s communications director Jennifer Mason applauded Yocca’s prosecution but lamented that Tennesee law protects women who "hire an abortionist to kill their babies."

“As a mom, it’s hard to imagine the mental state of a woman who would so viciously harm both herself and her child, whether it be at her own hands or at a government-funded facility like Planned Parenthood,” Mason wrote. “This is why we need Personhood!”

Have you heard about this? Murfreesboro, TN resident Anna Yocca has been indicted and arrested on first degree attempted murder charges following a months-long grand jury investigation, despite campaigns for impunity for pregnant women from anti-baby organizations such as National Advocates for Pregnant Women.

The Washington Post reports that Yocca attempted an abortion with a wire coat hanger when her unborn baby was 24 weeks old. Fearful for her own safety, she went to the hospital where her 1.5 pound baby boy was delivered. The newborn baby boy survived, but physicians say that the baby’s quality of life is forever damaged and he will need oxygen and medication throughout his life due to damage to his eyes, heart, and lungs from his mother’s coat hanger weapon. The Murfreesboro Post also reports that physicians state that other health issues will arise as he grows.

The laws in Tennessee are so blatantly biased in favor of abortion clinics, it's almost difficult to believe. Had Anna Yocca stabbed her baby multiple times just a few months later, an attempted murder indictment would have been expected. The small public outcry about this case from pro-abortion organizations is just a disturbing effort to dehumanize this little boy who survived an attempt on his life.

While Tennessee law does allow for attempted murder charges in cases such as Yocca’s, the law provides specific provisions for women to hire an abortionist to kill their babies at Planned Parenthood in Nashville and around the state.

As a mom, it’s hard to imagine the mental state of a woman who would so viciously harm both herself and her child, whether it be at her own hands or at a government-funded facility like Planned Parenthood. This is why we need Personhood! Of course this little baby's life is precious and should be protected and legally defended, as should every other baby!

Glenn Beck Hopes President Ted Cruz Will Appoint Sen. Mike Lee To The Supreme Court

Sen. Mike Lee called into Glenn Beck's radio program today, where Beck raised the prospect of Lee finding himself with an appointment to the Supreme Court should Sen. Ted Cruz become president, which Lee said is something for which he would be "highly flattered" and "very grateful."

When Beck raised the possibility of Lee being nominated to the Supreme Court, the Utah Republican responded that obviously any "law geek" in America would be flattered by such an offer and he would be no exception, saying that if such a scenario comes about, "we'll see what happens."

Beck and cohost Pat Gray were positively giddy about the prospect of putting Lee on the court for the next 50 years because it would drive the left insane, while Lee admitted that he would certainly "not be their first choice."

Beck responded that he has had personal conversations with Cruz about the need to confirm people like Lee to the Supreme Court and Cruz has promised Beck that he has the "guts" to try and do exactly that.

"I believe him," Beck said of Cruz's pledge before telling Lee that "I'm hoping to see you in robes some day."

Frank Pavone: Abortion Providers Are Probably 'Doing A Lot Of Other Evil Things As Well'

Something that’s important to understand about the anti-abortion movement’s ongoing efforts to discredit Planned Parenthood is that for many in the movement, the women’s health provider is already guilty of committing a crime by providing abortions. But since abortion is legal in the United States, Planned Parenthood’s adversaries have been trying desperately for years to find actual crimes that the group is guilty of in order to bring it down. This summer’s smear videos from the Center for Medical Progress grew out of that line of thinking.

Priests for Life’s Father Frank Pavone, who says he was “close to” the Center for Medical Progress officials who led the most recent attack on Planned Parenthood, made this point very clearly in a conference call for anti-abortion activists that he hosted last night along with the Susan B. Anthony List’s Marjorie Dannenfelser. (GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina also spoke on the call.)

Pavone told the activists on the call that a key part of his strategy is to “expose the abortion industry” and “rip the veil off what’s going on behind the closed doors of the abortion clinics.”

“And when we look there,” he said, “we see the truth that I have often reiterated, that you cannot practice vice virtuously. If you have such a seared conscience that you’re killing babies, well, friends, you’re going to be doing a lot of other evil things as well: medical malpractice, sexual abuse of patients, violation of OSHA standards, insurance laws, money laundering, all kinds of fraud and, yes, even the sale of body parts. All of this and much more is going on in the abortion industry.”

In other words, if you are such a depraved person that you will provide abortions, then you are probably a sexual predator, fraudster, and any other sort of criminal as well and thus Planned Parenthood is probably selling fetal tissue for profit just because it is used to doing “evil” things and is just waiting to be exposed.

Pavone also boasted of his role in a previous, similar attack on Planned Parenthood orchestrated by Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics, which we wrote about in a recent report.

Religious Right Leaders Rally Around Ted Cruz At Secret Endorsement Meeting

Religious Right leaders are intent on being the ones to pick the Republican presidential nominee this time around and they’re throwing their collective weight behind Ted Cruz.

The movement’s leaders have been seething for eight years now that they were forced to rally behind Republican presidential candidates they weren’t excited about — John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012.  After years of angling to prevent that from happening in 2016, “several dozen” Religious Right leaders met in secret in early December and voted to rally around Ted Cruz.

National Review’s Tim Alberta describes the event, which Cruz backers entered with the upper hand. It took five ballots for Cruz's supporters to browbeat backers of Marco Rubio into submission and give Cruz the three-quarters supermajority needed. Those who attended the meeting had vowed to either publicly support the eventual winner of the day’s balloting or to remain silent in the Republican primary. Reports Allen,

The impact was felt immediately on the 2016 campaign. Three prominent participants — direct-mail pioneer and longtime activist Richard Viguerie, the National Organization for Marriage’s Brian Brown, and The Family Leader’s Bob Vander Plaats – announced their support of Cruz within 72 hours of the meeting at the Sheraton.

Cruz, of course, had plenty of conservative evangelical support before this meeting. We noted back in the summer that he was consolidating support from the Christian Nation crowd, including discredited “historian” David Barton  —  who heads a Cruz super PAC  —  and billionaire fracking brothers Farris and Dan Wilks  —  who have pumped $15 million into the pro-Cruz super PAC effort. Since then, Cruz has been holding and attending “religious liberty” events  —  including one hosted by a pastor who calls for the execution of gays, and one at Bob Jones University, famous for claiming religious backing for its racial segregationist policies.

Cruz openly promotes the efforts of Christian-nation zealot David Lane to “take back” the country by using pastor-candidates to mobilize high evangelical turnout. Cruz told American Family Association’s Tim Wildmon this summer, “Nothing is more important in the next 18 months than that the body of Christ rise up and that Christians stand up, that pastors stand up and lead.”

Lane, who matches Cruz’s contempt for “establishment” Republicans, said back in 2013, “We’re going to try to eliminate the stuff that [GOP leaders] do to us every four years, which is picking somebody who has no chance of being viable and they kill us off and we have the McCains and the Romneys left.” Lane had cheered attacks on Romney’s faith and the “false god of Mormonism.”

Cruz has been courting Religious Right activists for years, even before the underdog, Tea Party-fueled victory in the GOP primary that propelled him into the U.S. Senate. Back before that election, he told the Freedom Federation’s Awakening conference, “we are engaged in spiritual warfare every day.” That message hasn’t changed: Just last week his campaign’s “prayer team” was told that “we’re in a spiritual battle today as never before.”

For the Religious Right, what’s not to like about Cruz? His anti-gay, anti-choice, and anti-government bona fides are unquestionable. His father, Rafael Cruz, an unabashed Christian-nation extremist and anti-gay bigot who says that it is God’s plan for his son to be president, makes an effective ambassador for Cruz to the far right.

Is anyone not jumping on the Cruz bandwagon? A group of Latino Republicans held a press conference yesterday to denounce Cruz for his anti-immigrant positions  —  which they said were the same Romney “self-deportation” policies by another name  —  and for Cruz’s support of Donald Trump’s bigotry.

The Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins, a leader of the effort to get the Religious Right to rally around a single candidate, has tried this before, without much success. In 2012, Perkins and other conservative evangelicals had tried to create unity around a single alternative to Romney. Perkins declared after a January 2012 gathering that Rick Santorum had emerged with a “strong consensus.”

But the voting process and outcome were disputed by Newt Gingrich supporters, and the idea that evangelical leaders could deliver their followers to Santorum was undermined when Gingrich won the next event, South Carolina’s primary. Richard Viguerie, among others, urged Gingrich to drop out in order to boost Santorum’s chances. In the end, Santorum went on to win other southern primaries but couldn’t catch Romney.

In January 2012, after he won that supposed consensus endorsement for Santorum, Perkins dismissed suggestions that the meeting was too late to have an impact, even though it came after Romney had already won Iowa and New Hampshire and was building up a head of steam. Perkins clearly decided not to let that happen again.

Carly Fiorina Promises To Nominate Anti-Choice Supreme Court Justices

In a conference call with anti-abortion activists last night, Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina promised that, if elected, she would “nominate pro-life justices” to the Supreme Court along with signing a budget defunding Planned Parenthood and pushing through a national 20-week abortion ban.

“Here’s what I will do and here’s what I want people to hold me accountable for,” she said on a conference call hosted by the Susan B. Anthony List's Marjorie Dannenfelser and Priests for Life's Frank Pavone. “If President Obama vetoes our attempts between now and the election — which, unfortunately, sadly, he may — I will deliver a budget that defunds Planned Parenthood. I will nominate pro-life justices. I will get the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protect Act passed.”

When she ran for Senate in California in 2010, Fiorina said that abortion rights would not be a litmus test for her votes on Supreme Court nominees.

Fiorina, who has come under fire for a series of falsehoods on the campaign trail, including repeatedly describing a video of Planned Parenthood that does not exist, also told participants that her main strategy for handling hostile questioning is to always “speak the truth.”

“You know, the truth shall set you free,” she said. “We all know this, we read it in the Bible. The truth shall set you free.”

“Don’t worry so much about finding exactly the right words, if that’s what you’re worried about,” she advised. “Worry about, concentrate on speaking the truth. Speak what you know to be the truth. that’s a powerful thing, it’s always a powerful thing, and that’s what I will keep doing. No one is going to frighten me into silence.”

Dannenfelser, the president of the Susan B. Anthony List, has made no secret of her admiration for Fiorina, telling call participants that Fiorina is a model candidate for her organization, which largely endorses female candidates opposed to abortion rights.

Trump Supporters In Iowa Back Japanese Internment, Mosque Closures & Muslim Database

Yet another poll shows Donald Trump leading among Republican voters, and his virulently anti-Muslim policies and rhetoric only seem to be helping him gain support.

Public Policy Polling today released the results of its latest Iowa survey, and found that a substantial percentage of Republicans in the first-in-the-nation caucus state, including a majority of Trump backers, are in favor of closing mosques and establishing a database monitoring all Muslims.

A majority of Republicans in the state also back Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims from immigrating to the U.S.

Unsurprisingly, a plurality of Trump’s Iowa supporters also backed the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II.

-78% support Trump’s call to bans Muslims from entering the United States, to only 13% who oppose it. Overall 54% of Republicans support him on that to 28% who are opposed. Supporters of Cruz (62/20) and Carson (54/25) also favor a Muslim ban while backers of Rubio (28/48) and Bush (28/49) are opposed.

-65% of Trump voters think thousands of Arabs in New Jersey cheered the collapse of the World Trade Center, to only 11% who don’t think that happened. Overall 43% of Republicans think that event occurred to 29% who don’t. Supporters of Carson (44/10) and Cruz (45/26) agree with Trump’s that it happened while those of Rubio (24/47) and Bush (12/62) say it didn’t.

-59% of Trump voters support a national database of Muslims, to 18% who are opposed. Republicans as a whole are evenly divided on that issue, 40/40. Carson supporters (42/38) join with Trump’s in wanting a Muslim database but those of Cruz (38/42), Rubio (32/48), and Bush (19/62) are all against it.

-45% of Trump voters want to shut down the mosques in the United States, to only 23% who are opposed to doing that. Overall just 27% of Republicans support that to 45% who are opposed though. Supporters of all the other major GOP candidates are opposed to shutting down mosques- it’s 32/48 with Carson backers, 25/44 with those of Cruz, 9/66 with Rubio voters, and 9/69 with Bush’s.

-Finally as long as we were at it we decided we’d ask people if they thought Japanese internment had been a good idea. Among Trump voters 48% say they support the use of internment during World War II, to only 21% who say they oppose it. Overall just 29% of Republicans support that to 39% opposed, and supporters of all the other candidates are against it- 29/33 with Cruz voters, 23/54 with Rubio’s, 12/48 with Carson’s, and 13/56 with Bush’s.

Conservative Pundit: God Is Raising Up Donald Trump To Save America

Right-wing columnist Tricia Erickson thinks that just as “God instructed Nehemiah to erect a wall around Jerusalem” in the Bible, God may be raising up Donald Trump “to accomplish his will” and “protect America by way of building a border wall.”

She writes in WorldNetDaily today that without a border wall, America has been “set up for annihilation,” arguing that “the complete dereliction of the duty to protect them and the American people, at this point, should be a legally actionable offense.”

“Trump, in this case, may be God’s Nehemiah,” she writes.

We learn in the Bible that Nehemiah’s life was an example of leadership and organization. He gave up a comfortable and affluent position in Persia to return to the fractured homeland of his ancestors and united the people to reconstruct Jerusalem’s wall. In the face of opposition, he used wise protection measures for the security of the people. Donald Trump is likewise comfortable and affluent, yet has a zeal and desire to protect America by way of building a border wall.

Walls represent protection. If God instructed Nehemiah to erect a wall around Jerusalem, wouldn’t this same measure be the correct action to take to protect our own homeland? If it was biblical then, how is it not both biblical and the right measure to take now? The people of the United States of America desperately need this same protection for our nation.

We have become a nation of sitting ducks due to unwise leaders and politically (in)correct pundits and speakers who blind our eyes to the reality of danger on the right hands, while their left hands are allowing our nation to be set up for annihilation. Strong words? Yes, but politically incorrect truth!

I believe that building the wall of protection is the single most important act that can be accomplished for the protection of our great nation. Every human being that comes in to the United States of America should be thoroughly background checked. Our borders absolutely must be guarded for the protection of the citizens of the United States of America. And when I look into the faces of my innocent grandchildren, I believe that the complete dereliction of the duty to protect them and the American people, at this point, should be a legally actionable offense.

While I believe that Donald Trump is limping along on his “Christian walk,” I remind even Christians that God has used believers and also non-believers to accomplish his will.

Trump, in this case, may be God’s Nehemiah.

Cruz Prayer Team: 'We're In A Spiritual Battle' Against Gay Marriage

Last month, Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign launched a “prayer team” whose members can join a conference call every week with pastors who back Cruz to pray for the candidate and his campaign. These calls have gone pretty much how you would expect them to, with last week’s call featuring a Tennessee pastor lamenting that the “powers of darkness” are attacking the church not only through ISIS and domestic terrorist attacks but also through Planned Parenthood and marriage equality.

Dale Walker, the head of the Tennessee Pastor’s Network, echoed the Texas senator’s father Rafael Cruz in castigating the church for sitting by without stopping “the moral decline of our nation.”

“We all know that we’re in a spiritual battle today as never before,” he said. “The powers of darkness is bombarding the last bastion of truth as never before and the last bastion of truth is the church. The complete reengineering of our society, folks, is before us, it’s going on right before our very eyes. There seems to be so many issues and sometimes, as a faith leader, I know, it’s daunting to keep up with as leaders of faith with our many responsibilities — from the horrendous barbaric baby parts harvesting to Christian heads being sawn asunder to the Supreme Court redefining biblical, traditional marriage to terrorism right on our own soil.”

Donald Trump: 'If I Were There' I Could've Shot The Paris Attackers

At a campaign rally in Las Vegas yesterday, GOP presidential frontrunner and aspiring “good guy with a gun” Donald Trump said that if he lived in Paris, he would’ve been able to shoot the terrorists who murdered scores of people in cafes and a concert hall last month, thus averting the attack.

“If a few of those people that are now dead, if a few of those people had guns strapped to their ankles or strapped to their waists, you wouldn’t have the problem, right?” Trump said. “If I were there, I’m licensed to carry, I will tell you this, if I were there, if somebody were there, if we had some firepower in the opposite direction, those people would’ve been gone.”

The rally also featured the manhandling of demonstrators, which has now become a regular occurrence at Trump events.

Cruz Claims Obama Administration Has Banned Anti-Islam Speech

Sen. Ted Cruz submitted a video address to conservative activist Frank Gaffney's “Nevada National Security Action Summit” last night, in which he put his own spin on the event’s theme of claiming that President Obama doesn’t care about America’s national security and threw in a casual lie about a nonexistent Obama administration "ban" on "rhetoric against radical Islamic terrorists."

Cruz defended Gaffney, an anti-Muslim activist and birther who has recently been in the news for providing shoddy polling data to Donald Trump, laughably claiming that “Frank Gaffney has been attacked over and over again for having the courage to stand up and speak the name ‘radical Islamic terrorism’ of the enemy that is waging jihad against us,” something that he said Obama won’t do.

He then went on to casually lie about recent remarks that Attorney General Loretta Lynch made about anti-Muslim hate speech. Lynch told a Muslim group that the Justice Department would “take action” when it sees anti-Muslim rhetoric that “edges towards violence,” later clarifying that “of course, we prosecute deeds and not words.”

According to Cruz, however, Lynch has now imposed a “ban on anti-Muslim rhetoric, what she considers rhetoric against radical Islamic terrorists” which is being used to force Americans to “submit” to the Obama administration and is having a “chilling effect” on people reporting suspicious activities, including the neighbors of the San Bernardino shooters. Of course, these neighbors were probably not silenced by comments that the attorney general made after the shooting.

Cruz started out his comments by praising Gaffney, saying that the activist “is a patriot, he loves this country, and he is clear-eyed about the incredible threat of radical Islamic terrorism.”

This, Cruz said, was in contrast to President Obama, who has left the issue of terrorism “festering unattended” because preventing terrorism is “peripheral at best to his core progressive agenda, an agenda that appeases our enemies before actually defending the national security interests of our great country.”

Wayne Allyn Root: Hillary Clinton Committed 'Hanging' Offense, But Is Blackmailing The FBI To Stay Out Of Jail

Today is a big day for conservative activist and former Libertarian vice presidential nominee Wayne Allyn Root, who, as the Republican presidential candidates descend on his home state of Nevada for tomorrow’s debate, joined Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, Ben Carson and Rick Santorum at a summit hosted by anti-Muslim activist Frank Gaffney before moving on to emcee a rally for Donald Trump.

The proximity of presidential candidates did not cause Root to hold back on his rhetoric, telling the audience at Gaffney’s forum that Hillary Clinton has committed “a hanging, treasonous offense” involving foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation but is getting off the hook by blackmailing FBI Director James Comey and other Republicans in Washington.

“Can you imagine a Republican secretary of state working for a Republican president starting a foundation for charity that collects money from foreign governments by the hundreds of millions and billions and then takes the money and hands out government contracts to the same country that made the contribution from the State Department?” he asked. “That’s not a criminal offense, that’s a hanging, treasonous offense.”

When a member of the audience asked Root “when we are going to nail Hillary,” Root responded that he wasn’t sure because “I don’t know if Comey, the FBI director, is totally on the straight-and-narrow.”

“I believe we’ve got massive blackmail going on in the United States government,” he said. “The NSA, the IRS, their goal is to find out everything about Republicans — not everybody, Republicans.”

“They want to know everything about us, especially Republican politicians in Washington, D.C., and then they blackmail them,” he explained. “Is Comey susceptible to that? I have no idea, but I certainly have my suspicions about the Supreme Court justice of the United States voting twice for Obamacare.”

Root has previously shared his theory that Chief Justice John Roberts was blackmailed into ruling against challenges to the Affordable Care Act.

Trump Picks Fellow Conspiracy Theorist Wayne Allyn Root To Emcee Nevada Rally

Wayne Allyn Root, a Nevada activist and the 2008 Libertarian nominee for vice president, comes across as something like the poor man’s Donald Trump. Like Trump, Root is loud, bombastic and full of barely thought-through conspiracy theories about President Obama. The two also know each other: Trump wrote a blurb for Root’s most recent book and Root volunteered to be Trump’s “Karl Rove” if he’s elected president.

So it makes perfect sense that Trump picked Root to emcee a campaign rally he is hosting tonight in Las Vegas in advance of tomorrow’s GOP presidential debate.

Root boasted of his role in the Trump rally during a rambling speech at a summit hosted by Frank Gaffney today that at least three GOP candidates are scheduled to attend.

Here is a brief introduction to some of Root’s favorite conspiracy theories, which we can only imagine he will touch upon at tonight’s rally:

1. Obama Both Did And Did Not Attend Columbia

Root’s signature conspiracy theory has to do with Obama’s time at Columbia University, which Root says is where Obama learned his strategy to impose socialist control on the U.S. even though, according to Root, he was never seen in classes and probably is lying about going to Columbia at all.

Root attended Columbia at the same time as Obama (if Obama really did attend Columbia!) and so can attest that the president was never seen in class but also was indoctrinated into Marxism during his classes at Columbia .

2. Obama ‘Cut His Afro’ To Become The ‘Manchurian Candidate’

Root put a new spin on his Obama theory during a 2014 campaign stop for Mississippi Senate candidate Chris McDaniel, when he said that Obama’s Columbia classes (which he both did and did not attend) taught him to “cut his afro” in order to infiltrate the political class and become a “Manchurian candidate” meant to take down America from within.

3. Obama Is A Sociopath Who Will Kill Us All

Root has diagnosed Obama as an “arrogant, egomaniacal sociopath” who is either “mentally ill” or committing treason and must be removed from office “before he kills us all” with Ebola-ridden terrorists.

4. Obama Wants A Race War So He Can Impose Martial Law

Like many conservative commentators, Root contends that America’s troubles with race were in the past until Obama came along to divide everyone, saying that the president “didn’t come in to help us end the specter of racism, he brought it back.”

Root wrote during the protests in Ferguson, Missouri, that “Obama needs ‘division.’ Race warfare. Class warfare. Anger. Resentment. Civil war.” Obama, he wrote, saw Ferguson as “the perfect opportunity to divide the nation, to incite unrest and violence across America” and could “use spreading unrest to declare martial law.”

5. Democrats Win By Voting 10 Times Each

Root has taken voter fraud hysteria to a new level, claiming last year that President Obama won reelection because “Democratic voters across this country are voting four times, five times, 10 times each for the Democrats.”

Root is sure that the same mischief is afoot for 2016 and that Hillary Clinton is conspiring with Obama and with the defunct organization ACORN to steal the presidential election.

6. Somebody Is Blackmailing John Roberts

Root had a reasonable reaction to the Supreme Court’s rejection of another challenge to the Affordable Care Act in the King v. Burwell decision this year:

Cal Zastrow: 'Sodomite Police' Will Take Your Husband If States Don't Nullify SCOTUS Ruling

Personhood USA cofounder Cal Zastrow joined Tennessee state Rep. Mark Pody at an event in Nashville recently in support of efforts to pass legislation that would nullify the Supreme Court's gay marriage decision in the state, warning that failure to do so would result in people eventually being rounded up by the "sodomite police."

Zastrow warned that the "sodomites" and the "perverts" would oppose the legislation on the grounds that it would just be a waste of time and money, since the law is obviously unconstitutional and will simply be struck down, but such criticism should be ignored because this law is the only way "to stop perverted marriage."

"Years from now, do you want to get the phone call," Zastrow asked, "from your kids or your grand kids saying, 'Mom, Dad, the sodomite police or the population police just came and took my husband away. Dad, Mom, why didn't you fight evil when you could?'"

John Bolton: Obama Is The 'Biggest Threat To National Security'

Some of the biggest applause lines at today’s “Nevada National Security Action Summit,” hosted by the Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney, have been comments accusing President Obama of being a secret Muslim and deliberately trying to bring down the country.

John Bolton, an ambassador to the United Nations during the Bush administration who has since become a conservative activist, offered more of the same in his address to the summit, which will also feature at least three Republican presidential candidates.

“The fact is, Barack Obama does not view American national security as one of his priorities,” Bolton said. “It gets in the way of what his real priority is, and he told us very candidly in the 2008 election, it was to fundamentally transform the country. And national security just distracts from that.”

He told the crowd that Obama’s supposed indifference to national security shows that it must be the first priority for electing a next president.

“And I think that you can see the risks that we’ve undertaken over the last seven and soon to be eight years by electing somebody who’s utterly unqualified to think through foreign policy issues, who simply doesn’t care about them,” he said. “The net effect of Barack Obama’s presidency will show that the biggest threat to national security we have is sitting in the Oval Office, because he’s indifferent to national security.”

FAIR Warns Of Dangerous Immigrants From Canada

In an interview with conservative Wisconsin talk radio host Vicki McKenna last week, Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) spokesman Ira Mehlman, warned that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s acceptance of Syrian refugees would endanger the U.S.

McKenna lamented that the United States is doing “nothing to secure our borders” and described our border with Mexico as the “porous as they come,” stating that it is a “conduit point for people from Middle Eastern countries.” Our border with Canada, McKenna said, is just as insecure. Mehlman agreed, adding that Trudeau has agreed to continue taking in refugees from what McKenna referred to as “known terrorist countries.”

“If you think our southern border is not secure, our northern border is not secure at all,” Mehlman said. “We haven’t had the need before now, but I guess if the new prime minister up there in Canada has his way, you might start seeing people in Wisconsin coming across.”

Jesse Lee Peterson: Only 'Traitors' Like Obama Disagree With Trump On Muslim Immigration

Conservative activist Jesse Lee Peterson is coming to the defense of Donald Trump’s proposal to ban all Muslims from entering the country, writing in WorldNetDaily over the weekend that only “traitors” like President Obama disagree with Trump’s plan.

Peterson laments that just seven years after the 9/11 attacks, Americans elected “a man with a Muslim name and sympathies” who “sides with the enemy.”

“Knowing the administration’s desire to overrun us with Muslims, Trump’s position makes a whole lot of sense,” he writes … unless, of course, you’re a traitor.

For many American citizens, the murder of nearly 3,000 of our own on 9/11 by Muslim fanatics was a wake-up call. The naïve way many of us had viewed the world melted under shattering reality in the space of one chilling morning.

Unfortunately, after the immediate shock passed, most went back to sleep and stayed asleep. Just seven years later, a man with a Muslim name and sympathies, Barack Hussein Obama, was elected president, and four years later, was re-elected. Now after Paris and San Bernardino, it couldn’t be clearer that he sides with the enemy. God help us.

Paris and San Bernardino brought some of the post-9-11 reality back to us – that Muslims represent a clear and present danger. It was another wake-up call for some, and for others, another opportunity to deny their country’s need for self-preservation by siding with the enemy.

The deniers are cowards – and traitors.

After San Bernardino, Americans rejected Barack Hussein Obama’s call for gun control and massive Muslim immigration. The people instead clamored for Muslim control.

In this environment, one man, Donald Trump, dared to voice what was on the minds of millions of Americans, and called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S., until we can get a grip on our nation’s security. Knowing the administration’s desire to overrun us with Muslims, Trump’s position makes a whole lot of sense.

Unless you’re a Quran-believing Muslim, liberal or RINO Republican.

This all points to the insanity of today’s world, where Muslim savages follow a seventh-century madman who grew up without his father, and waged bloody jihad against Jews, Christians and other “infidels.” And yet, almost all of our leaders – instead of standing against the atrocities committed by members of the “religion of peace” – are actually supporting their reign of terror by doing nothing to stop it. Worse, they’re actively working against the few who – like Donald Trump – are standing up for the American people.

They are cowards, and they are traitors.

Ann Coulter Hopes President Trump Suspends All Immigration

Ann Coulter, the conservative pundit who has taken credit for shaping Donald Trump’s immigration policy, spoke with Breitbart News on Saturday, where she said that Trump’s “genius” plan to ban Muslim immigration should lead to a sweeping suspension of all immigration.

Coulter said that the ban on Muslims from entering the country should lead to a halt on non-Muslims immigrants as well, likening it to Obamacare, which she insisted was designed as a “two-step” plan that was designed to fail and then usher in a single-payer health care system.

“Trump’s immigration policy paper, the greatest political document since the Magna Carta, proposes a moratorium on all immigration,” she said. “It’s completely out of control. It isn’t just the Muslim terrorists we’re letting in, though that is stupid enough. Far more Americans are killed by Mexicans than by Muslim terrorists, Muslim terrorists do it in a more spectacular way.”

She added: “Why not just suspend it all? It seems to me that’s the two-step we’re moving to here until we can figure out what’s going on with any of these immigrants coming in.”

Ben Carson: 'America As We Know It Is Gone' If Hillary Clinton Pick Next Supreme Court Justices

On the Saturday edition of Breitbart News’ Sirius XM show, Ben Carson said that while he would consider leaving the Republican Party if officials “subvert the will of the voters” in the presidential nomination contest, he would rule out running as a third-party candidate for president.

“That would guarantee Hillary’s victory,” Carson said of a third-party bid. “If we get another progressive president and they get two or three Supreme Court picks, America as we know it is gone.”

Carson has previously said that if he is elected president, he would not feel obligated to recognize Supreme Court rulings, claiming the executive branch does not “have the responsibility to carry out a judicial law.”

Twisted: The Far-Right's Disgraceful Reaction To The Sandy Hook Massacre

Last month, Donald Trump appeared on “The Alex Jones Show,” where he told the right-wing pundit that he has an “amazing” reputation, unlike other journalists, whom Trump commonly refers to as “scum.” Among Jones’ many wild conspiracy theories is his belief that the massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, which took place three years ago today, was “staged” by the Obama administration.

Trump has not faced any criticism from his fellow Republicans for going on Jones’ program or for touting his work, despite the fact that Jones has been instrumental in pushing the harmful Sandy Hook conspiracy theory.

A 2013 Fairleigh Dickinson University poll found that “a quarter (25%) of Americans think that facts about the shootings at Sandy Hook elementary last year are being hidden and an additional eleven percent are unsure” and that “Republicans are more likely to think that the truth about Sandy Hook is being suppressed, with 32 percent agreeing.”

Sandy Hook truthers, who largely believe that the attack was faked as part of a government plot to push strict gun laws, are not alone in delivering twisted responses to the mass shooting. Others have used the massacre to attack gay marriage, the separation of church and state and, of course, gun laws.

The Truthers

WorldNetDaily columnist Erik Rush said that Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza “positively reeked of what intelligence operatives I know would call the tell-tale signs of recruitment and conditioning,” and wondered if Lanza was the target of a government scheme to recruit “vulnerable individuals for psyops” to advance “their diabolical agenda.”

Renew America’s Austin Miles similarly suggested that the massacre was “purposely orchestrated” to “disarm all Americans to retard resistance,” writing that Lanza and others were “brainwashed into carrying out such deeds that would prove a point about private gun ownership and the threat to all families as a result.” Then, he said, there would be no opposition to Obama using an “Executive Order to declare himself president (dictator) for life.” Fellow Renew America pundit, Laurie Roth, claimed Obama “staged” the attack because he’s on a “mission to take assault weapons from the people.”

Radio host Rick Wiles stated that “Sandy Hook was timed to coincide with the political agenda of the socialist Democrats such as Barry Soetoro [Obama], Chuckie Schumer, and Dianne Feinstein to pass stringent federal gun control laws,” alleging that “the shooting event was timed to coincide with the gun control initiative.” Another conservative radio host, Bradlee Dean, likened the Sandy Hook killings to Adolf Hitler “attacking his own Reichstag to start a world war” and said that it was orchestrated to pass an arms control treaty.

The Tea Party-aligned National Liberty Foundation insisted that the “staged” massacre showed just “how far your president went to get your guns”: “He wants to be a dictator, he doesn’t want to get out of the White House and he loves spending your money.”

Many of their assertions relied heavily on discredited claims that “crisis actors” posed as grieving family members at the school and that one of the young victims later met with President Obama (she didn’t, it was her little sister).

One Republican congressman, Louie Gohmert, however, told a fan of his that he would watch a Sandy Hook conspiracy theory video because he’s “always learning new things.”

Religious Right’s Reaction

Several Religious Right activists responded to the Sandy Hook shooting by warning that the massacre was a sign that God is no longer protecting America, removing his hand of protection due to supposed societal ills such as gay marriage, abortion rights and the separation of church and state.

“Millions of people have decided that God doesn’t exist, or he’s irrelevant to me and we have killed 54 million babies and the institution of marriage is right on the verge of a complete redefinition,” Focus on the Family founder James Dobson lamented. “Believe me, that is going to have consequences too. And a lot of these things are happening around us, and somebody is going to get mad at me for saying what I am about to say right now, but I am going to give you my honest opinion: I think we have turned our back on the Scripture and on God Almighty and I think he has allowed judgment to fall upon us.”

“We’ve taken God our of our school, we’ve taken him out of our government and now we seem shocked at all of these things,” Franklin Graham stated following the attack. “Why are we shocked? We shouldn’t be shocked. This is what happens when a society turns its back on God.” Author Joel Rosenberg said the shooting was one of the tragedies America is “reaping as a result of a society that increasingly ignores God,” specifically blaming comedian Jon Stewart for waging a “war on Christmas” and mocking conservatives.

Before winning his race for Congress, Georgia Republican Jody Hice said the shooting was a consequence of “kicking God out of the public square.”

Mike Huckabee blamed the Sandy Hook massacre on those who have tried to “systematically removed God from our schools,” turning schools into “a place of carnage.” He claimed that school shootings would be a thing of the past if only schools started organizing chapel services for students and the government stopped ordering employers to “provide tax-funded abortion pills.”

One pastor said that a “gracious,” “merciful” and “loving” God decided not to intervene to prevent the shooting because it would “bring us back to our senses” and make people realize that God’s judgment “has really come by our turning away from the Lord.” Bryan Fischer of American Family Radio specifically blamed legal abortion and the lack of state-sponsored prayer for the attack, stating that God is a “gentleman” who “is not going to go where he is not wanted.”

Blocking background checks

Ted Cruz has proudly boasted of his role in successfully blocking a bipartisan Senate measure to expand background checks on gun purchases following the school shooting, bragging that unlike Republican “squishes,” he stood firm in opposing universal background checks. The Sandy Hook-affected families who supported the efforts, he said, were being used as “political props.”

One of the main organizations that worked with Cruz in fighting the effort, Gun Owners of America, pushed fears that the background checks could lead to gun confiscation, tyranny and genocide. The group’s executive director, Larry Pratt, said liberals “rejoice” following events like Sandy Hook, as they “immediately start shedding their crocodile tears, pushing for more gun control,” and, possibly, martial law.

National Rifle Association board member and musician Ted Nugent blamed the shooting on America’s “politically correct culture” and “‘anything goes’ value system” which “vilifies, condemns and mocks traditional societal values and customs at every opportunity,” while NRA executive director Wayne LaPierre delivered an unhinged speech against gun control measures, lashing out at the group’s critics, the entertainment industry, video games, the media and a lack of guns in schools.

But while nearly nine out of 10 Americans, including nine out of 10 gun owners, support more background checks, Republican lawmakers care more about the support they receive from groups like the NRA, and have done next to nothing to tackle the issue of gun violence in the wake of tragedies like Sandy Hook.

Instead, Republicans claimed that the government should focus on mental health and thentried to block access to mental health services.

Few if any of the GOP presidential candidates are offering any meaningful gun reform proposals, outside of their unwavering dogma: More guns.

Frank Gaffney's Presidential Summit Begins With 'Secret Muslim' Conspiracy Theory

Frank Gaffney, the head of the Center for Security Policy, has come under fire in the past couple of weeks thanks to Donald Trump, who cited a shoddy poll conducted by Gaffney’s organization when he called for a ban on all Muslims entering America.

Conveniently, just as Gaffney’s impressive record as a conspiracy theorist was coming under scrutiny, he was planning yet another summit designed to attract Republican presidential candidates, this time in Nevada ahead of tomorrow’s presidential debate.

It was only fitting, then, that within the first hour of today’s summit — which will be attended by Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina and Rick Santorum — the topic turned to whether or not President Obama is secretly a Muslim. (Gaffney himself hasopenly entertained the idea.)

Admiral Ace Lyons, who received an award from CSP alongside Sen. Jeff Sessions earlier this year, took a question from a woman in the audience who told him, “I’d like to know why no one — that’s literally no one — is gutsy enough to call a Muslim a Muslim in our White House. It’s pretty obvious that he is.”

After what appeared to be a brief consultation with Gaffney, Lyons responded: “Well, all I can say is he certainly acts the part, doesn’t he?”

It’s hardly surprising that Lyons got that question since he spent his entire speech claiming that President Obama is deliberately working to take America down from within with the help of the Muslim Brotherhood, which he said has infiltrated every U.S. national security agency and is shaping foreign policy.

“When the president of the United States is not interested in America leading or America winning, then you understand that greatest threat to our national security resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” Lyons declared to applause.

Obama, he said, has been pushing policies that are “anti-American, anti-Western, but pro-Islam, pro-Iranian and pro-Muslim Brotherhood.”

“I have to ask you,” he said. “Why would an American president embrace the Muslim Brotherhood when their creed is to destroy America from within by our own miserable hands and replace our constitution with Sharia law? It makes absolutely no sense.”
