Frank Turek: Thomas Jefferson Would Start A 'Second American Revolution' To Make Schools Teach Creationism

Religious Right activist Frank Turek claimed yesterday that Thomas Jefferson would lead a second American Revolution against the teaching of evolution.

In an interview on Washington Watch, Turek told the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins that by proscribing Creationism, public schools have effectively declared “that the Declaration of Independence is unconstitutional.”

“If [Jefferson] were to come back to America today and find that his tax dollars were going to pay public school teachers to teach his school children that his Declaration of Independence was unconstitutional, I think he’d start the Second American Revolution,” Turek insisted.

Perkins agreed: “I think you’re right.”

Turek: If these bureaucrats are going to say that we can’t mention Creation anywhere in school, I ask them this question: Are you telling me that the Declaration of Independence is unconstitutional? Because the Declaration of Independence talks about our Creator, it says we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, it says that we were created. Please don’t tell me the Declaration of Independence is unconstitutional. I think I know what Thomas Jefferson would do, the man who said that taxation without representation is tyranny, if he were to come back to America today and find that his tax dollars were going to pay public school teachers to teach his school children that his Declaration of Independence was unconstitutional, I think he’d start the Second American Revolution.

Perkins: I think you’re right.

Phyllis Schlafly Says 'Feminists Are At War With Mother Nature' For Encouraging 'Girls To Enter Boys' Fields'

Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly said today in her radio bulletin that the “the peculiar ideology of the feminists” is harming boys because it is encouraging “girls to enter boys’ fields” of study and employment. Apparently, some fields are reserved for boys, who Schlafly laments now “dislike school and have less interest in attending college” due to the nefarious actions of “a powerful network of feminists.”

“The feminists are at war with Mother Nature, and Mother Nature keeps winning, so the feminists are constantly angry at what they call patriarchy,” Schlafly added.

She also expressed concern about the emergence of a game called “Circle of Friends.” But as Slate’s Amanda Hess explains, “Circle of Friends” is just another name for freeze tag.

Many people do not realize the peculiar ideology of the feminists. They are not promoting equality of male and female; they are for interchangeability of the genders. The feminists are at war with Mother Nature, and Mother Nature keeps winning, so the feminists are constantly angry at what they call the patriarchy.

The feminists oppose competitive games where somebody wins and somebody else loses, and they manifest this particular ideology starting in elementary schools. The feminists do not like games that boys like such as the game of tag. Some feminists suggest a game called "Circle of Friends," a non-competitive version of tag, and that silliness has been implemented in a few schools. Taking winners and losers out of the game of tag and having them play non-competitive versions of other games are supposed to make rambunctious boys in grades K-through-3rd grade less competitive and less aggressive.

The scholar Christina Hoff Sommers has written extensively on the barriers that boys face in school and college. She points out that a powerful network of feminists is working to promote training for girls to enter boys’ fields, and have co-opted large sums of our tax dollars to spend lavishly to guide girls into fields dominated by boys. Here is one of one of Christina Hoff Sommers' helpful pieces of advice: "Instead of spending millions of dollars attempting to transform aspiring cosmetologists into welders, education officials should concentrate on helping young people, male and female, to enter careers that really interest them." Right now, boys are the under-served population requiring attention. When you reflect on how boys are treated in public schools, it's no wonder that they dislike school and have less interest in attending college. In many colleges, boys are now only about 40% of the student population.

Bill Federer Worries Atheists Will Kill Millions Of Christians If They Can Take Over The Military

Bill Federer, a lesser-known Religious Right "historian" in the vein of David Barton, was the guest on Gordon Klingenschmitt's "Pray In Jesus Name" program today where he and "Dr. Chaps" discussed their concerns about what will happen to Christians in America if atheists take over the military.

"We ask ourselves," Federer said, "will the people that are pushing [an anti-Christian agenda], once they get in charge of the guns, do we really expect them to be more tolerant than they are now? Or, will they be tempted to use their new powers to force their agenda?"

Federer went on to declare that recent history shows that leaders like Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao had no hesitation about using their "atheistic military" to kill tens of millions of their own people.

"So we see that terrible things can happen when you get a military that no longer has a belief that every person is sacred because they're made in the image of God," Federer added, "it just becomes a tool to push an agenda. And so this is a concern a lot of people have."

Pat Robertson Warns 'Zealots' Want To 'Destroy The Health Supply' Of America

Since we are tasked with watching the 700 Club every day, we were rather amused when televangelist Pat Robertson insisted in a recent interview with The Blaze that he is a “mainstream” pundit and not “some sort of right-wing extremist.” As Robertson explained today on his show, it is actually liberals who are the real zealots.

Robertson began his rant by falsely claiming that the Affordable Care Act is a government takeover of the health care system: “The government shouldn’t be providing health care, that’s not their job; the government should make an opportunity for the private sector to provide [health insurance].” (Of course, that is exactly what the Affordable Care Act does by establishing private health insurance exchanges.)

“This thing has been an absolute disaster,” Robertson continued. “The president has been willing to destroy the health supply of our entire nation to accommodate the left-wing, this is left-wing ideology and we’ve got to resist it. You’ll find it in terms of the labor market, you’ll find it in terms of environmentalism. The left are people who are filled with this righteous zeal, they’re zealots and they don’t have a balanced perspective on life. Whenever they get in charge of something, they ruin it.”

He later remarked that “extremists” and “fanatics” run the Democratic Party: “They’re not facing reality, that’s what these extremists do, they don’t face reality, and those of us who have any kind of sense about the world that we live in have got to stand up against these fanatics because they are fanatics but unfortunately they control one of the major parties in America.”

Liberty Counsel Defends Christian School's Right To Demand Tomboy Student Follow 'Biblical Standards' On Gender

Yesterday, we noted that Liberty Counsel had come to the defense of a Virginia Christian school which had informed the family of an 8-year old female student not to re-enroll her next year unless she is "open to following the biblical standards" regarding her appearance and gender.

The girl's great-grandparents and legal guardians assert that she is being asked to leave the school because she is a tomboy with short hair, but yesterday the school released a statement through Liberty Counsel saying that the media reports about the issue have been false and misleading:

We are deeply dismayed over the inaccurate and public nature of this situation and the false and inaccurate reporting.

The Church and the School are limited in what can be related about this situation. With all due respect, the facts are not as S.K.'s great-grandparents have portrayed them. This matter is far beyond a simple ‘hairstyle and tomboy issue’ as inaccurately portrayed. It is not about that at all. At no time did the Church or the School state or imply that S.K. was sexually immoral or the like. Yet, reports like this have appeared in the media. The School has never told S.K. she cannot return to school.

The Church and the School have a responsibility to all students, their parents, and guardians. Parents and guardians send their children to the School because of our Christian beliefs and standards. We have a duty to create an environment that is supportive of these Christian values. We cannot have conflicting messages or standards because such conflict will confuse our students and frustrate the parents and guardians who have entrusted the education of their children to us. When elementary children and their parents or guardians express concerns regarding use of the restroom and other matters arising from the sensitive issues here, the School has a duty to address those concerns and to ensure that all interests are heard and protected in accordance with the Christian mission of the School. While we welcome all students, parents and guardians are made aware of the School’s Christian mission and beliefs. We not only have a right, but we also have a duty to uphold these Christian standards.

We deeply regret that the great-grandparents either made inaccurate statements or were quoted out of context. This public discussion is not in the best interest of all concerned. S.K. has been attending our school for several years and we had looked forward to working with her and her great-grandparents privately.”

Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, who has been asked to represent the school, commented: “The Book of Proverbs says that he who states his case first seems right until another comes forth to challenge him. I think that accurately describes the misinformation that was reported regarding Timberlake Christian School. The school looks forward to working with the family and moving forward to a positive resolution.”

We are actually sympathetic to Liberty Counsel on this point because we have seen this very sort of story play out in the opposite direction time and again, as Religious Right groups gin-up a one-sided controversy about supposed anti-Christian persecution and then spread it far and wide before school officials have even had a chance to correct the record.

But, in this case, media reports seem quite accurate, as they are based upon the letter the school sent home in which school officials informed the family that the young girl would not be welcome back if she did not begin to model proper "biblical standards" of gender:

There also have been several occasions when the other students, particularly those who do not know Sunnie personally, have been confused about whether she is a boy or girl, and at times, these occasions have been troubling to Sunnie. I also understand that Sunnie is being counseled professionally regarding her identify and image in order to steer her in a particular direction to handle these identity issues.

You’re probably aware that Timberlake Christian Schools is a religious, Bible-believing Institution providing education in a distinctly Christian environment, and we believe that our biblical role is to work in conjunction with the home to mold students to be Christlike, On those occasions in which the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home is counter to or in opposition to the biblical lifestyle that the school teaches, the school reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission of an applicant or to discontinue enrollment of a student. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, living in, condoning or supporting sexual immorality; practicing homosexual lifestyle or alternative gender identity; promoting such practices; or otherwise having the inability to support the moral principles of the school. We base this standard on Bible principles as found in Leviticus 20:13a; Romans 1:21-27; Matthew 19:4-6; and I Corinthians 6:9-20.

However, we believe that unless Sunnie as well as her family clearly understand that God has made her female and her dress and behavior need to follow suit with her God-ordained identity, that ICS is not the best place for her future education. It seems that the school’s goals and biblical foundations are going to be in contradiction with the direction that Sunnie is heading at this point.

For this reason, we must ask that you not re-enroll Sunnie here at TCS unless you are open to following the biblical standards set forth above.

Swanson: Disney's 'Frozen' Leads Kids To Witchcraft

Radio host and pastor Kevin Swanson, who previously warned that Frozen is a Satanic movie that turns kids gay, today claimed that Frozen and similar movies “are the means that children are led into witchcraft” and are part of Hollywood’s attempt to turn children away from God.

Swanson’s Generations Radio co-host Steve Vaughn argued that Frozen character Anna considers herself to be God: “If God does not exist and we are ourselves God, then we make up the rules and we can let ourselves go, we can let ourselves by, we save ourselves. That’s what a lot of these movies do. Even with Frozen, Anna saved herself, she had the frozen heart and she did an act of love and saved herself. That’s just the way it is, when you’re God you make up the rules.”

“These magical powers you find in these movies often times not attributed to God himself, God is not recognized, God is not worshiped, God is not seen as the source of power and thus many of these magical tales turn out to be a means by which children are led into witchcraft,” Swanson said.

Vaughn: If God does not exist and we are ourselves God, then we make up the rules and we can let ourselves go, we can let ourselves by, we save ourselves. That’s what a lot of these movies do. Even with Frozen, Anna saved herself, she had the frozen heart and she did an act of love and saved herself. That’s just the way it is, when you’re God you make up the rules and what I just did wasn’t wrong according to me.

Swanson: I wish that people would step back and ask: What’s the ethic? What’s the basic metaphysic? In many of these movies produced in Hollywood, God is not the source of power, God’s not the ultimate source of ethics. And when God’s not the source of power, then power is something that is achieved from within oneself or within the closed universe, something to discover from within the closed universe. These magical powers you find in these movies oftentimes not attributed to God himself, God is not recognized, God is not worshiped, God is not seen as the source of power and thus many of these magical tales turn out to be a means by which children are led into witchcraft.

Glenn Beck, Liberty University, And The Right To Be Different

Last week, we noted that it was a little odd to watch Glenn Beck heap praise upon Religious Right activist Mat Staver not too long after denouncing anyone who supported the anti-gay crackdown taking place in Russia, given Staver's long history of anti-gay activism and support for these very sorts of laws.

On today's radio broadcast, Beck was discussing the most recent developments in the Justina Pelletier case and once again praised Staver and Liberty University, where he serves as dean of the law school. So impressed with Staver is Beck that he announced that, when he dies, he is going to leave a lot of money to LU:

This is odd for a number of reasons, most notably the fact that Liberty U has not been particularly welcoming of Mormons or Mormonism.

Beyond that, just last week Beck made a crusade out of defending a gradeschool boy who was told not to bring his "My Little Pony" backpack to school, using his entire network to support the boy and even bringing him on his television program.

"I thought it was important to send a very clear message to Grayson and everybody else that it’s okay to be different," Beck declared last week.  "It is critical that you remain different. It is critical that you say, ‘This is who I am, and if you don’t like it, go pound sand. I don’t really care.'"

This week, a similar sort of story emerged out of Virginia where a Christian school has asked a young girl to leave because she is too much of a tomboy and is not modeling a properly feminine "biblical lifestyle."

"We believe that unless Sunnie and her family clearly understand that God has made her female and her dress and behavior need to follow suit with her God-ordained identity, that TCS is not the best place for her future education," shool officials wrote in a letter sent home with the student.

Wouldn't you know it, but this school just so happens to have a close relationship with none of than Liberty University and, according to news reports, school officials are referring any inquiries about the incident to Mat Staver's Liberty Counsel:

School officials declined a request to speak with MSNBC, referring the matter instead to Liberty Counsel, a nonprofit litigation, education and policy organization. Timberlake administrator Jeff Abbett did send a statement to WDBJ7, however, saying the school was “heart-broken” over the latest developments.

Will Glenn Beck come rushing to defend Sunnie’s right to be different? Or will he continue to stand with Staver and heap praise upon Liberty Counsel even as his organization defends this school's decision to refuse to allow her to attend because she chooses to "remain different"?

As we have pointed out before, Beck has a tendency to decry the very things that the people with whom he chooses to associate all vocally support, all while pretending that he doesn't even know anybody who supports those sorts of things. And this is another perfect example of Beck's myopic hypocrisy as one week he is decrying efforts by a school to force a student to conform and then, the very next week, endlessly praising someone who is defending a school that is forcing a student to conform.

Traditional Values Coalition Links Contraception Mandate To 'Islamic Shariah Law,' 'Population Control'

Andrea Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition emailed members yesterday to inform them that Hobby Lobby’s challenge of the contraception coverage mandate is necessary to stop the Obama administration and Planned Parenthood’s supposed “agenda of population control” and attempts to diminish freedom in America.

She added that the HHS mandate is part of a larger attack on freedom coming through the “IRS scandal” and “Islamic shariah law both at home and abroad.”

We are just one breath away from freedom.

Today the oral arguments for the Hobby Lobby case was heard in Washington, and in the snow and rain hundreds of folks turned out in support of religious liberty.

The world is seeing it for what it is.

Even the media has started to turn on Obama.

Families faced with crippling increases have nowhere to turn.

...but the Obama administration is bent on pushing its agenda of population control.

Planned Parenthood and the Obama administration have been scheming for this for the last six years. This is their time – their only time – to cram it through.

Traditional Values Coalition remains the largest Christian organization in America fighting back against Obamacare and the HHS Mandate, with over 43,000 churches and ministeriums and millions of Christian, Bible-believing Americans supporting our work.

...and should it come down to a U.S. Supreme Court justice nomination fight, it will be TVC on the camera, TVC in the halls of power, TVC working the committee rooms – because few organizations in Washington have the access and confidence to make your voice heard on Capitol Hill.

Hobby Lobby is just the tip of the iceberg. Between the IRS scandal, the attacks on the religious liberties on military chaplains, the silencing and shaming of those standing up to the horrors of Islamic shariah law both at home and abroad, few voices have the courage to stand up and do what is right – even when it’s unpopular.

Texas Republican Highlights How GOP Should Face the Changing Electorate

In the famously red state of Texas, Republican state legislator Jason Villalba of Dallas last week offered a frank assessment of the crossroads at which his party finds itself.

[T]he time has come closer when we will see the sleeping giant [of the Hispanic electorate] awaken and it will make a tremendous difference in our ability to win elections if we cannot win the votes of our fellow Hispanics.

Even as the country rapidly becomes more diverse, the GOP has clung to its strategy of alienating Latinos, African Americans, women, and LGBT people with an endless barrage of outrageous statements and discriminatory policies.

As some Republican leaders, like Villalba in Texas, are noting, this tactic isn’t good for the GOP. Demographic changes, though small on the surface, could have major political impacts, particularly in swing states, that will make it harder and harder for Republicans to win important elections.

In Texas alone, analysts are projecting a two percent increase in the Latino electorate for the 2016 election cycle compared to 2012. That kind of increase is still relatively minor in Texas, but a similar shift could make a crucial difference in swing states like Florida, Colorado, and Nevada. As GOP pollster Whit Ayres notes

Changing the demographics of the state by two percentage points puts a finger on the scale in each of the swing states for the party that’s doing well among Hispanics. This underscores the critical importance for Republican candidates to do better among nonwhite Americans, particularly among Hispanics, if Republicans ever hope to elect another president.

Some far right activists argue that the GOP can win by increasing its share of the white vote, but the numbers don’t bear that out. As Resurgent Republic noted, “every month for the next two decades, 50,000 Hispanics will turn 18.” Without appealing to those voters, Republicans face a steep climb to victory in any national race—and a quick journey to minority party status.

No wonder the party is so fond of strict voter ID laws, restricted early voting opportunities, and proof of citizenship laws to deter certain people from coming out to vote.

Matthew Hagee: We Are 'Living In An Evil Day'

On this week's "Hagee Hotline," Matthew Hagee lamented that we are "living in an evil day" where abortion is legal, gay marriage is gaining acceptance, and support for Israel is dropping all while Christians do nothing about it.

"It's an evil day whenever we the people of the United States are debating about the definition of a family," Hagee said, "and allowing same-sex couples to have the same privileges of married couples."

Hagee was particularly alarmed by what is happening regarding Israel because "as Israel goes, so does the rest of the world."

"If Israel is at peace, the world is at peace. If Israel is in conflict, the world is in conflict. If Israel is prosperous, the world prospers. If Israel is in dire straits, the world struggles," he asserted. "This is not someone's opinion, this is historical fact":

No, Obama Hasn't Handed Over The Internet To China And Islamists

Need more proof that right-wing activists will keep pushing their conspiracy theories even after they have been thoroughly and decisively debunked?

Take the case of the recent announcement that the federal government will relinquish oversight of the Internet to a US-backed nonprofit, which has prompted conservatives to claim that the United Nations, China, and Islamic governments will now seize control of the Internet. As it turns out, the transition has been in the making for 16 years and actually stifles attempts to increase the authority of the UN-led International Telecommunication Union.

In spite of these facts, right-wing activists are now arguing that the exact opposite is happening.

Jay Sekulow’s American Center for Law and Justice today unveiled a misleading petition suggesting that the UN will take control of the Internet.

The Obama Administration is giving up American control over the Internet, handing over its most important technical functions to a “multinational” body – perhaps even the U.N.

But do we want Russia or China influencing whether we can create websites? Do we want the U.N. controlling key aspects of the world’s most powerful mode of communication – our free speech?

America has kept the Internet free. Don’t let our nation sign over our freedom to dictators.

Dear President Obama and Members of Congress,

America has kept the Internet free for decades. There is no reason to trust that dictators from Russia and China will protect our freedoms. Maintain American control and protect our online liberty.

ACT! for America, Brigitte Gabriel’s anti-Muslim group, released an even more frantic and deceptive response to the announcement, warning that the administration’s move will lead to the imposition of Sharia law on the Internet.

“Our founding fathers are turning in their grave!” the group said about the Internet oversight transition. “The truth cannot be silenced!”

WE MUST EXPOSE THIS OUTRAGE

Once again President Obama is putting you and your family at risk by giving power to the United Nations (UN) to control the Internet and muzzle YOUR freedom of speech, putting you at a risk of legal action just for expressing your view on the Internet!

If you’re a politician in Washington, and you want to bury bad news, you release an announcement late on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, March 14th, at 3:30pm, the Obama administration announced that America was surrendering control to the UN over key aspects of the Internet (control that America had because we built it in the first place).

Unfortunately, the largest voting bloc in the UN is the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC), a Saudi-dominated bloc of 57 nations that has waged an aggressive campaign against free speech, freedom of the press and free expression.

For an American president to betray the American public, our founding fathers, our Constitution, and throw our freedom of speech at the feet of tyrants to decide what we can and cannot say under the threat of a law suit for hate crime is unconscionable – shameful – reckless and stretches the boundaries of betrayal.

Our founding fathers are turning in their grave!

We at ACT! For America believe that truth is invincible. The truth cannot be silenced! We believe that if we can reach enough people with our message in defense of our security, our liberty and our values, America will prevail over those who want to destroy our way of life.

We know that the Jihadists not only have our country, our values and our citizens in their crosshairs, but the truth itself. And Jihad is based on the belief that the truth must be hidden, bent and broken.

It is disturbing and chilling that the Obama administration could allow the OIC, along with the Shariah doctrine to which it adheres, to suppress free speech on a global basis via control of the Internet.

Up to now, American oversight of the Internet has ensured that it has run with efficiency and openness, without political pressure.

Authoritarian governments, such as those in Saudi Arabia and Iran, have already been working to control the Internet and now they will no doubt move to fill the power vacuum caused by America's unilateral retreat.

In the future, domains could be banned and new ones not approved for groups deemed undesirable by the OIC or its members.

Let us never forget all that our founding fathers sacrificed so that we can enjoy the democratic freedoms we have today. Let us not forget how so many of them gave their lives for this and that many of them died destitute. They were willing to give everything they had. We cannot let them down. We must stand up, fight this, and inform Americans about what our president has just done. Please help us get this message out by following this link right away to make the most generous tax deductible donation you can afford.

Barbaric regimes from Khartoum to Tehran, and Damascus to Riyadh, have cut off their own citizens' Internet access in the past, but they have been unable to undermine general access to the Internet, where no one needs any government's permission to launch a website. This hallmark of Internet freedom is now endangered.

Dictators and tyrants, who have always silenced their critics and suppressed independent media, have long had a goal of “international” control over the Internet. Now the stage is set for them to achieve that goal.

UN members have called for a UN agency called the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to replace America’s authority and challenge an open Internet. One critic calls the ITU “the chosen vehicle for regimes for whom the free and open Internet is seen as an existential threat.”

ACT! For America isn’t going to take this lying down. If the Internet is silenced, liberty will be silenced. If those who oppose tyranny are prevented from delivering their message, it is the same as being bound and gagged.

We must continue to confront the enemies of freedom at home and abroad.

Harvey: 'Anti-Child' 'Gay-Stapo' Is Bullying Youth, 'Corrupting Children'

Writing today in BarbWire, Mission America head Linda Harvey claims that LGBT rights groups and “vicious homosexual bloggers” are the real bullies, while Christian students are increasingly the victims of “troubled ‘gay’ adolescents whose destructive actions went unpunished.”

Instead of disciplining these gay bullies, Harvey says, schools are instead embracing bullying prevention programs from the “gay-stapo” who are “corrupting children with misinformation and hyperbole about bullying, all laced with explicit ‘gay’ sexual messages” in their “mandated ‘LGBT’ indoctrination” courses.

“The real tragedy is that these groups in reality exploit vulnerable and fragile kids, all the while espousing great compassion and, disingenuously, ‘tolerance’ as a motive,” she writes. “And let’s just be frank: there’s one type of bully in the current climate almost never held accountable: the verbally combative homosexual, lesbian or cross-dresser who taunts and insults others.”

Harvey says anti-bullying efforts are part of the left’s “war” on religion: “But if anyone thinks these desperately discontented people will stop their assault at Christians, think again. First, they came for the Christians and the children….”

The Human Rights Campaign now says RFRA bills are a “license to discriminate.” That’s their take on the Constitutional guarantee of religious freedom for millions of Americans.

It’s essentially a declaration of war.

First Amendment rights shouldn’t be controversial. What’s astounding is the notion that “gay” behavior must be honored by force if necessary, even as marriage.

Or as respectable identities for children. But “anti-bullying” policies are now perceived as essential in public schools nationwide and are often a cover for mandated “LGBT” indoctrination and suppression of any objections.

Activists both inside and outside America’s schools are pushing kids toward homosexuality and gender change while demonizing conservative values that would steer them elsewhere. The teacher’s unions are on board, and the gay-stapo hopes no concerned parent or astute student recognizes that hand grenades are being thrown into the school environment. Critics of current religious freedom bills might want to take a look at the behavior of activists at the schoolhouse before they dismiss those measures as “unnecessary.”

Using disruptive, anti-child advocacy, the Human Rights Campaign (promoters of the grade school gender confusion program, “Welcoming Schools”) and GLSEN (sponsor of the victim-posturing “Day of Silence,” held in April in public schools) are busy corrupting children with misinformation and hyperbole about bullying, all laced with explicit “gay” sexual messages.

The real tragedy is that these groups in reality exploit vulnerable and fragile kids, all the while espousing great compassion and, disingenuously, “tolerance” as a motive. And let’s just be frank: there’s one type of bully in the current climate almost never held accountable: the verbally combative homosexual, lesbian or cross-dresser who taunts and insults others. In the adult world, this is personified by vicious homosexual bloggers who spread lies, distortions, and have called me and others vulgarities I’d never attribute to my worst enemy, but to them, it’s their daily bread. How these people have gotten any traction is beyond unbelievable. They’d never last two weeks in the corporate environment.

Then there are students who fall into this category. I know of several situations where life was made a living hell for peers by troubled “gay” adolescents whose destructive actions went unpunished.

But if anyone thinks these desperately discontented people will stop their assault at Christians, think again. First, they came for the Christians and the children…

Beck: My Network Is 'Fundamentally About Religion' And My Right To Practice It

Glenn Beck began his television program last night with an opening monologue about yesterday's oral argument at the Supreme Court over the contraception mandate, declaring that the government has no right to tell someone like him how he must run his company because his entire network is an exercise of his religion.

After explaining that there is a difference between "freedom of worship" and "freedom of religion," Beck proclaimed that his The Blaze network is "fundamentally about religion" because he is exercising his religious freedom through operating his network.

"I started a business called The Blaze," Beck explained. "Why is it called The Blaze? Because of the fire of God. That's why. It's The Blaze, the fire of God will purify everything. It is fundamentally about religion, for me ... I am exercising my right to practice my religion in here!"

Pat Robertson Recalls The Days When Gays Were Stoned To Death, Blames Satan For Gay Rights

Today on the 700 Club, Pat Robertson said that Satan is behind homosexuality and that Jesus wouldn’t have served gay couples since they would have been stoned to death.

Robertson made the remarks following a report on a Colorado baker who was sued for refusing to serve a same-sex couple and the controversy over Arizona’s so-called “religious freedom” bill. The segment included interviews with the baker, his attorney, a sympathetic customer and three conservative activists. It didn’t feature any interviews with people defending the gay customers.

“I think you got to remember from the Bible, if you look carefully at the Bible what would have happened in Jesus’ time if two men decided they wanted to cohabit together, they would have been stoned to death,” Robertson said. “So Jesus would not have baked them a wedding cake nor would he have made them a bed to sleep in because they wouldn’t have been there. But we don’t have that in this country here so that’s the way it is.” (Robertson’s claim that Jesus would never have encountered a same-sex couple is a matter of debate.)

Robertson added: “Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have to recognize what I said a few years ago, at that point homosexual marriage was condemned, homosexuality itself was considered a pathology and now those that are practicing that activity have turned and become the oppressors of those who hold deeply-held religious points of view, the tables have turned.”

“What is it about gays? What is it about abortion? Have you ever thought why they’re on the forefront right now? Both of them deny the reproduction of human species,” Robertson said, adding that homosexuality is “a meaningless exercise because it doesn’t go anywhere.”

“The Devil is trying to say, ‘I’m going to destroy your progeny any way I can. If you will kill your babies, that’s fine, I’m with you; if you will deny the chance of having babies, that’s fine too; but I want to destroy your opportunities to reproduce,’” he said. “It’s a very serious thing and we’re not talking about it, and we need to as a society, we have to realize where the attack is coming because it is definitely an attack.”

Co-host Wendy Griffith agreed: “The Devil wants to steal, kill and destroy. Well said Pat.”

Latest Judge's Ruling In The Justina Pelletier Case Met With Outrage

After several delays, the Massachusetts judge handling the Justina Pelletier case issued a ruling yesterday that was devastating to Justina's parents and the Religious Right activists who have made her case their crusade.

In his ruling, Judge Joseph Johnston found that there is "credible psychiatric and medical evidence" to suggest that Justina suffers from a "persistent and severe Somatic Symptom Disorder" rather than the mitochondrial disease with which she was initially diagnosed and heavily criticized her parents, saying she needs to remain in state custody "due to the conduct and inability of her parents, Linda Pelletier and Lou Pelletier, to provide for Justina’s necessary and proper physical, mental, and emotional development."

Johnston asserted that the Pelletiers had repeatedly abused medical staff as well as those working for the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and twice undermined efforts to transfer Justina to different facilities by threatening to sue one and generating protests by Religious Right activists outside of another, which resulted in both facilities ultimately declining to take her.

In addition, Johnston denied Mat Staver's efforts to sign on as the parents' legal counsel.

Based on the recommendations of both the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, as well as the Guardian ad litem assigned to act in Justina's best interest, Johnston ruled that Justina would remain in state custody:

The judge’s four-page decision, which was provided to the Globe, was remarkable for its detail and forcefulness. Johnston faulted Connecticut’s child protection agency for its failure to get involved in a case involving a child from its state, and faulted Pelletier’s parents for their verbally abusive manner and haphazard decision-making that he says has sabotaged plans to move their daughter closer to home.

Johnston wrote that the parents called Boston Children’s Hospital personnel Nazis “and claimed the hospital was punishing and killing Justina. Efforts by hospital clinicians to work with the parents were futile and never went anywhere.”

More recently, he wrote, “there has not been any progress by the parents. Rather, the parents . . . continue to engage in very concerning conduct that does not give this court any confidence they will comply with conditions of custody.” He noted that because of allegations that Justina’s father, Lou Pelletier, threatened a state social worker assigned to the case, the worker had to be reassigned.

In his ruling, Johnston, for the first time publicly, stated his belief that Pelletier suffers from “a persistent and severe Somatic Symptom Disorder,” a psychiatric diagnosis that doctors at Children’s reached in early 2013 when the girl was brought there because she had difficulty walking and eating. The parents objected to that diagnosis, leading to accusations of medical child abuse and setting off a monthslong battle over her care.

...

Johnston also denied a request by lawyer Mathew Staver of Liberty Counsel in Florida to help represent the parents. Staver said he plans to take part in a plan to appeal Tuesday’s ruling on legal grounds, a process that he hopes might reverse the custody decision earlier than the summer.

In tone, Johnston’s ruling made it appear he had lost patience after trying for months to carefully orchestrate a resolution to a case that has drawn nationwide media attention.

Lou Pelletier has taken part in numerous national media interviews to condemn the Department of Children and Families and the judge and call for the return of his daughter. Since the start of the year, several conservative Christian organizations have gotten involved in defending the parents, seeing the case as an example of government interference in the sanctity of parental rights, and have instigated massive phone and letter-writing campaigns to the judge and other state officials.

Johnston wrote that the parents had repeatedly “impeded progress” in resolving the case. “Instead of engaging in quality visits with Justina, the parents use profanity directed at MA DCF personnel in Justina’s presence,” he said. “There is absolutely no meaningful dialogue by the parents to work towards reunification.”

Staver, for his part, has vowed to "pursue every legal means," including filing a habeas corpus petition if necessary:

Today, Judge Joseph Johnston ruled that the custody of Justina will remain with Massachusetts DCF until a future hearing, which could not be set any earlier than June 20.  “Once again, the court is kicking the can down the road. This is unacceptable,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel.

“DCF has no right to hold Justina like a prisoner. We will pursue every legal means to end this tragedy,” said Staver.

...

“In all my years in practice, I have never seen a more barbaric overreach by a state agency,” Staver said. “The family has asked us to pursue every legal means necessary to get their daughter home. Liberty Counsel will file an appeal or a habeas corpus petition,” said Staver.

And Religious Right activists are planning on ramping up their efforts:

Keith Mason, president of Personhood USA, said the Free Justina Coalition plans to appeal to Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick to step into this matter. He also said that they’re considering a permanent office in Boston to organize outreach efforts.

“We’re looking for thousands of people to gather, not just hundreds,” Mason said.

Fischer: 'The Spirit Of The Antichrist Is At Work' In Obama

On his radio broadcast today, Bryan Fischer took some time to reiterate his belief that while President Obama is not technically the Antichrist, he is an antichrist and operates under the "spirit of the Antichrist."

Saying that never in America history has this nation been governed by a leader who was as "aggressively and relentlessly opposed to Christianity" as Obama, Fischer said that doesn't mean that Obama is the Antichrist, but rather that "the spirit of the Antichrist is at work in him":

Barber: Satan 'The Father Of Lies' Behind Gay Rights; World Vision Took Mark Of The Beast

Liberty Counsel’s Matt Barber is once again maintaining that Satan is driving the gay rights movement, telling American Family Association head Tim Wildmon today that “the Father of Lies” is the reason Christians are increasingly accepting of gay people.

“They’re under deception,” he said.

Barber told Wildmon that unlike World Vision, the Christian charitable organization that announced yesterday that it would recognize married gay employees, he is willing to fight gay rights to the death: “I hope I’m the guy that runs up to the stake and kisses it before they burn me alive on it.”

Barber also suggested that World Vision took the Mark of the Beast, while Wildmon encouraged people to boycott World Vision even if they are currently sponsoring a child through the organization.

The Liberty Counsel added that World Vision employees “will have to answer to God for this.”

John Benefiel's Prayers Caused Record Flooding And Protected Oklahoma City From Recession

John Benefiel returned to "God Knows" for a fourth episode in which he explained to Cindy and Mike Jacobs how he and Chuck Pierce broke Baal's control over Texas, Kansas, and Missouri back in 2007, which resulted in massive amounts of rainfall across the region and subsequent flooding.

"Literally the day after we used this Ball divorce decree in 2007," Benefiel explained, "the rains came and we ended up having more rain between February and June of 2007 than any other twelve month period in history."

On top of that, Benefiel's efforts to divorce Baal also ended up protecting Oklahoma City from the global recession that hit in 2008.

"That is not an accident," he said. "That's God's blessings":

Glenn Beck Prays God Will Kill Putin To Stop The Rebuilt Soviet Union/ New World Order

Glenn Beck began his radio show today by declaring that, whether the world realizes it or not, World War III has already begun as Russia will soon roll across Europe as it seeks to rebuild the Soviet Union. The US can either stay out of it, which is what Beck recommends, and settle in for another Cold War or mobilize the military, setting off WWIII.

Beck, of course, spelled it all out on his chalkboard, predicting that the newly reformed Soviet Union and China will work together to collapse the United States and the West, resulting in a New World Order.

Not knowing what to do in response to this inevitable development, Beck has begun praying that God will kill Russian President Vladimir Putin:

Bill Donohue Thinks His 'Straight Is Great' Contingent Would Have 'Overwhelmed' Pride Parade

The day before Catholic League head and anti-gay activist Bill Donohue announced that he wouldn’t participate in the NYC Pride Parade even though organizers accepted his application to lead a “Straight Is Great” parade contingent, Donohue told conservative talk show host Steve Malzberg that the parade organizers are maneuvering to keep him out of the parade because they are afraid his “Straight Is Great” message will catch on and flood the parade: “They know what they’re opening the door to: what if instead of getting 100 people, what if I get 3,000 people? What if we begin to overwhelm their parade and vetoes their message?”

Donohue said that he withdrew from the parade because he didn’t want to attend required training sessions for all group leaders.

“Quite frankly, as a straight guy, I don’t go to gay training sessions,” Donohue said. “I think I’m pretty much an untrainable guy when it comes to this thing.”

For the record, those “gay training sessions” that NYC Pride convenes aren’t quite as exciting as they sound: “We hold March information and safety sessions, referred to as group leader trainings, so our participants are fully aware of rules and procedures come event day. These trainings address line-up times, check-in locations, our moment of silence, dispersal activity, NYPD safety policies, attire and vehicle/sound permits. It is imperative group leaders know this information.”
