President Obama Is Leading A Modern Day Islamic Jonestown Cult

On yesterday's Trunews radio program, Rick Wiles interviewed a self-proclaimed expert on Jim Jones and his Jonestown cult named David Conn who declared that President Obama "is the reemergence of the Jones Cult mentality on a grand national level."

Conn: First off, Jones captured the media and Obama captured the media.  Jones had a strange childhood - a father, a drunk, a mother that had to fend for itself and so Jimmy Jones he was very lonely and not really looked after by a father figure.  Jones ended up as a highly egocentric, narcissistic, charismatic man who would do and say anything that would get him ahead; no real and deep-seated principles. And that's obvious.

And the same way, Obama attacked the lone media organization that began researching him critically, talk shows and their pundits going on Fox News.  Obama captured and captivated the rest of the media.  One of them was so in love with Obama that he, Chris Matthews, lost his cool and said he got a tingle up his leg.

Obama also captured and captivated the politicians and even moderate Democrats, those that were ordinarily fairly sane and seemed to have fallen blindly before this blazing young political messiah.

And Obama also had a very strange childhood.  You know, a father deserted the child when he two years old.  Obama's only father figure was a terribly nasty old man, a pornographer and a child molester and a cocaine user who was an avowed communist.

Wiles: Frank Marshall Davis.

Conn: Yeah, right. We could go into that, how weird he was. And it's pretty well established that Frank Marshall Davis was the one that got Obama into cocaine.

And also, both of them, Jones and Obama, had a background of community organizing.

...

Obama is a leader of a massive cult himself.  He's the leader of the cult and the cult is Islam and he leads it by way of being its major Western world defender...

Wiles: Is Barack Obama leading America to cultural suicide?

Conn: Oh yes.

Wiles: I mean a cultural Jonestown Massacre?

Conn: Yes. That's why I said he's far more dangerous because already what's going on has caused, I think, enormous amounts of people who have just lost everything they've had and who knows how many suicides.

Paranoia-Rama: This Week In Right-Wing Lunacy - 11/1/13

RWW's Paranoia-Rama takes a look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories and maniacal claims from the Right.

In our latest installment, we learn about new fake dangers of same-sex marriage, real dangers of falling for satire and the true perils of peering too closely into Bryan Fischer’s head.

5. Gay Marriage Leads To Self-Marriage

We have already heard that gay marriage will lead to dog-man, box turtle-man and Eiffel Tower-man marriage, but apparently person-on-self marriage is on the way too. In a last ditch campaign to block a marriage equality bill, Hawaii Family Advocates is playing up the slippery slope argument, warning that same-sex marriage may lead to a person marrying themselves. The group also warned of “polygyny, polyandry, bi-sexual marriage, group marriage, concubinage, beastiality [sic],” leading us to wonder if they understands what the word bisexual means.

Not to be outdone, the Hawaii Republican Assembly warned the “destructive wake of homosexual marriage” will force churches to marry same-sex couples and have five-year-old kids learn about “the gay and lesbian lifestyle.”

4. United Nations To Seize The Alamo

Shockingly, Tea Party activists in Texas and Alex Jones of InfoWars have been pushing a conspiracy theory concerning the United Nations, Democrats…and the Alamo. The conservatives warn that the designation of the Alamo as a UNESCO World Heritage Site will put the compound under the control of United Nations bureaucrats, all with the help of the Democratic Mayor of San Antonio Julian Castro. The Texas Land Commission notes that the UNESCO designation will change nothing about the Alamo’s ownership or operations, but such claims are nothing new: Texas’ junior senator Ted Cruz promoted claims that the United Nations, George Soros and various municipal officials are going to abolish golf courses and paved roads using Agenda 21.

3. Sharia Law In Dearborn…Again

The satirical National Report article, “City in Michigan First to Fully Implement Sharia Law,” has made such waves that the city it referenced, Dearborn, has had to issue a statement to reassure people that no, the city is not under Islamic rule. But people may just believe that Mayor Jack O’Reilly’s denial of an article from a spoof website is probably just a sign that he is practicing taqiyya, as anti-Muslim politicians continue to actually believe that the Michigan city operates under Sharia law. The mayor’s analysis is spot on: “The National Report’s misguided attempt at humor furthers the goals of some people who have tried to suggest that the city of Dearborn is anti-American because our population includes residents who are Muslim.”

In fact, the National Report article appears to be plagiarized from a very real article from The Guardian on Sharia law in the country of Brunei.

2. EPA Gun Grabbers!

Steve Benen flags this right-wing conspiracy about how gun activists claim that an EPA regulation on pollution is actually a backdoor plan to push “gun control behind the scenes,” pointing to the recent closure of a smelter in Missouri. Seeing that Gun Owners of America claims that health care reform was really just a big push to disarm Americans and send gun owners to concentration camps or electro-shock therapy, the claims that Obama will use the “the environment as a pretense to go after a lead smelter so bullets will be scarce and more expensive.” As Benen notes, however, the EPA enforced the rules against the smelter in 2008 under the Bush administration.

But as we all know time has a liberal bias.

1. Military Will Kill Christians

Over the last several years the American Family Association has been predicting that the military under President Obama will start going after Christians in US, and 2013 is no different as AFA spokesman Bryan Fischer last week charged that service members may begin to use “lethal force” on Christians and “turn [their] takes” on conservative organizations like the AFA. He even said “it would not be illogical next year at the Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C.,” referring to the annual Religious Right conference, “that military troops surrounding the Omni Hotel.”

We look forward to Fischer making the exact same prediction for every remaining year of Obama’s term.

Glenn Beck Can Barely Contain Himself At The Idea Of 'Senator David Barton'

A few weeks ago, Glenn Beck set out on a mission to convince Rep. Louie Gohmert to launch a primary challenge to Sen. John Cornyn; an endeavor that Gohmert was clearly reluctant to undertake.

But now Beck has moved on, predicting that Gohmert will remain in the House where he will run for Speaker, which leaves open the position of primary challenger to Cornyn.  So who does Beck want to see fill that slot?  None other than his best friend David Barton.

"Senator David Barton," Beck just kept repeating on his radio program today, unable to keep the elated smile off of his face just thinking about it:

Rick Wiles Explains How Miley Cyrus Sold Her Soul To Satan And Had Sex With A Demon

End Times broadcaster Rick Wiles got so upset about a photo with Miley Cyrus next to a skeleton that he invited Joe Schimmel of Good Fight Ministries onto TruNews to discuss how Cyrus is supposedly promoting Satanism after making “a deal with Lucifer.”

Wiles called Cyrus the “poster child” for the “Synagogue of Satan” and asked, “any wonder whom she serves as her soul’s master?”

After warning that Cyrus has been “baptized into the Illuminati,” Schimmel said that Cyrus was actually imitating the Hindu goddess Kali during her performance at the VMA’s.

“There’s definitely a spiritual thing going on,” Schimmel continued, “she’s basically, at least symbolically, showing how to have sex with some Satanic figure.”

Fischer: America Needs A Christian President Who Will 'Exorcise The White House'

Responding to a story about how Presidents Reagan and Truman reportedly saw ghosts in the White House, Bryan Fischer tweeted that the White House needs an exorcism once voters elect a “Christian president.”

Maybe Fischer should talk to his pal Gordon Klingenschmitt, who on his TV show tried to exorcise a demon from Obama.

Barton: It's Not Global Warming, It's The Judgment Of God

David Barton recently sat down with televangelist Kenneth Copeland for another series of "Believer's Voice of Victory" programs that are apparently supposed to air sometime next week, as lots of the discussion is focused on mobilizing people to vote in the upcoming off-year elections in states like Virginia, New Jersey, and elsewhere.

Several of the programs have already been uploaded to YouTube, include one in which Copeland and Barton declare that voting for candidates who support abortion opens the door to a curse upon the nation that results in floods, tornadoes, and pedophilia.

"Abortion was a seed to it," said Copeland, "that has grown into a murderous, bloody crop of child death."

Once "you open the door to killing," Barton added, "it's got a lot of different manifestations" because the nation immediately falls under the judgment of God as He removes his protection and "whap, here comes storms like we've never seen before and here comes floods and here comes climate stuff that we can't explain; all of the hot times and all the cold times and not enough rain and too much rain and we're flooding over here and we've got droughts over here ... And today we're saying 'oh no, it's global warming." No, we opened a door that lost God's protection over our environment and that's our choice":

E.W. Jackson: 'Deliver' Gays From 'Destructive' Lifestyle; Obama Will 'Teach Children Homosexuality'

Now that Virginia Republican lieutenant governor nominee E.W. Jackson is simply denying that he ever said anything that could be considered to be anti-gay, we’ve decided to post a few more clips of Jackson saying things that are totally not at all hostile to gay people.

In a Virginia Family Foundation speech last year, Jackson mocked President Obama for supporting marriage equality and for admiring same-sex couples, adding that he wants to “deliver” gay people:

That individual homosexual who is caught up in that lifestyle we love and so desperately want to see that person delivered; that woman who is contemplating abortion who is confused and emotionally distraught and has been misled by bad information, we love her, we desperately want to help her; but these folks who have it in their minds as homosexual activists and abortionists to fundamentally transform our country, they’ve got a fight on their hands and we are not ashamed of it.

But apparently Jackson actually is ashamed of it because he is now outright lying about his anti-gay views.

Jackson also criticized Obama in a 2012 interview with Religious Right activist Dean Welty, arguing that the president is “shaking his fist at God” and belongs to a party that has “declared war on God” by supporting marriage equality. In fact, he suggested that Obama supporters are “unclean” and that they have denied Jesus Christ and are worshipping Obama instead.

He even claimed that Obama “will force schools to start teaching all children homosexuality.”

He tried to explain his anti-gay viewers at an event earlier this month at Patrick Henry College, a conservative school that pushes anti-gay politics.

Jackson told his audience at Patrick Henry that gays and lesbians don’t face discrimination in society and that he is not anti-gay but only wants gay people “to do what we think will be helpful to them and productive for them rather than destructive.”

FRC Asks God To 'Intervene To Prevent; ENDA From Passing

The Family Research Council is asking its members to pray against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which they claim will require employers to “give special treatment to LGBT employees” and instill an “anti-Christian bias in business.”

The group urges members to pray that ENDA will “be decisively defeated” and ask God to “intervene to prevent furtherance of this law, which would plant homosexuality even more deeply into the fabric of our society.”

The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) will be brought to the Senate Floor as early as next week. ENDA will impact private and public employers and workplaces like the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell impacted the U.S. Military. Military leaders and chaplains are now caught in crises of religious conscience over elevating homosexual rights above religious liberty. Christian service personnel are bearing the brunt. Employers and employees will similarly be required to give special treatment to LGBT employees. This law would mandate the employment of homosexual, bisexual and "transgendered" individuals in inappropriate occupations, disregarding the fact that sexual conduct may be relevant to employment. ENDA would open America's businesses to a host of lawsuits and, I predict, more anti-Christian bias in business, just as is now happening in the military.

May ENDA, first introduced in 1996, be decisively defeated. May deceptive and inadequate religious liberty amendments not distract Congressmen from taking a principled stand on the issue. May God intervene to prevent furtherance of this law, which would plant homosexuality even more deeply into the fabric of our society. Bring millions who need Christ into His kingdom, including those involved in sexual sins, both homosexual and heterosexual

Larry Taunton At FRC: US Must Choose Between Christianity And Tyranny

Larry Taunton, an author whose Fixed Point Foundation is devoted to advocating for the truth of Christianity in the public arena, spoke at the Family Research Council Wednesday on the topic of “Combating Secularism in the Public Square.” Having recently injured his foot in a stumble, he joked that he wished he had a better story, that he’d been “kicking around a few liberals.”

Taunton’s FRC speech  recycled much of the language in an article he wrote last year mocking the “Reason Rally” in Washington, D.C. as the “Rally for Nothing in Particular.” It reiterated the main thrust of his book, The Grace Effect: societies do better when there are enough Christians around to bring grace to the culture, and societies are in danger when they no longer have Christianity at their center.

Citing “new atheists” such as Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins (whose books he called “sheer nonsense”), Taunton argued that there is “growing hostility toward Christianity” and an effort to “drive Christianity from western life and culture.” Like many speakers at Religious Right events, he argued that a big source of America’s problems is that Christians and the church are not outspoken enough.

Taunton argues that how people answer questions about God determines our view of mankind and our view of government, particularly whether government is meant to serve man or man to serve the state. He warned that “we live in a time when the state is deemed to be the answer to all things.” The notion that “all men are created equal,” he said, makes sense only in a Christian context. And he warned that “we cannot dismiss God from public life and retain human dignity, worth and meaning, because those things can only be given by God.” More explicitly, he said, “society cannot and will not stand in the absence of belief in God.”  Taunton says some secular societies, like those in Western Europe, are “still running off of their accumulated Christian capital. But beware. When the fumes in that tank are spent, tyranny cannot be far away.”

In a response to a question from FRC’s notoriously anti-gay Peter Sprigg, Taunton expressed a sort of grudging admiration for the “gay and lesbian lobby,” which he said has changed America’s cultural conversation even though it represents a “tiny percentage” of the population.  He said many young people who identify as homosexual see God as a “cosmic spoilsport” and the church as hostile.  Citing research he did for an Atlantic article on young atheists, he said one young lesbian viewed Christians not as a group but as a “gang.”  Taunton said that in reaching out to people, he does not believe in compromising the gospel, but he encourages Christians to consider whether they are “projecting grace” in the way they communicate.  Odd, then, that he praised the Family Research Council, whose approach to LGBT people could hardly be any less grace-projecting.

The Oprahfication Of Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck harbors a seething hatred for Oprah Winfrey, whom he considers to be the "biggest fraud of my lifetime."  So it has been fascinating to watch his program lately as Beck slowly adopt her entire media and marketing strategy as he has begun spending show after show preaching to his audience that they need to overcome their fears and find their own purpose in order to create amazing lives.

Beck's new role as self-help guru is now resulting in entire programs where he does nothing but hail a Kindle book that he happened to stumble upon as "the way out of just about every mess the world finds itself in."

A few weeks ago, Beck discovered a Kindle book on Amazon called "The Art of Being Unmistakable: A Collection of Essays About Making a Dent in The Universe" that he's been promoting it ever since and last night, Beck had the author Srinivas Rao on the program to discuss his book and his worldview.  During the interview, Rao explained that, at age 34, he had been fired from every job he'd ever had and was broke and living with his parents, spending his days surfing and so he wrote this book ... and, as far as we can tell, that is pretty much about it.

So basically, a broke, unemployed blogger living at home with his parents self-published a 64 page Kindle book and now he's being praised by Glenn Beck for having produced "one of the most important pieces of writing I have seen in quite some time":

E.W. Jackson Resorts To Lying To Duck Questions About Anti-Gay Rhetoric

The Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Virginia has contorted himself in all sorts of ways to dodge questions about his extremist record, arguing that anyone who simply quotes his past statements is violating the Constitution or persecuting him or misrepresenting him.

But since very few people would actually take his absurd objections seriously, Jackson has now resorted to lying.

During an interview with WUSA, he denied ever having said that gay people are “sick” or that God will stop blessing the military over gay rights. He said that such direct quotes are “absolutely, categorically not true.”

Unfortunately for Jackson, we here at Right Wing Watch have the audio of him making the very statements he is now denying he ever made.

Last year, we captured audio of Jackson calling gay people “perverted…sick people”:

And we recently posted video of Jackson suggesting that the military will lose God’s favor over same-sex marriage.

In fact, Jackson has made plenty of other viciously anti-gay remarks in the past.

Dave Weigel provides video of the WUSA interview, noting that Jackson is “just lying his head off about what he said in the past”:

Rachel Maddow points out that “Virginia Republicans’ last minute plans for this election appear to be to try to convince people that they have not said things that they have said on tape.”

Kincaid: Obama & De Blasio Leading Communist-Islamist Takeover; Inviting Another 9/11

Rick Wiles invited Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy In Media onto TruNews this week to discuss Kincaid’s recent press conference which called New York mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio a tool of “international communism, terrorism, and global Islam.”

“We’ve got the Communists coming together, personified by de Blasio’s past, present and future, and you have the Muslims in alliance with him,” Kincaid said, arguing that de Blasio is “setting the city up, and the nation, for another 9/11.”

Wiles couldn’t believe that anyone could be more of a Communist than Obama, and claimed that the Democratic Party is now run by Communists.

But while de Blasio may be even more radical, Wiles said that Obama is still the “perfect political hybrid, a Marxist Muslim” who is currently “orchestrating this alliance to dismantle the United States of America.”

Kincaid: He’s probably even more openly Communist, more of a radical than Obama himself.

Wiles: That’s hard to believe. What we have now is that the present day Democratic Party is the Communist Party, I really believe it. The Communists decided decades ago, they realized they’re never going to be elected in this country as Communists, they infiltrated the Democratic Party and over decades they took it over. Now, we’ve got people openly running as Communists, they don’t deny their Communist sympathies and nobody is blinking an eye about it, it’s quite normal now.

Kincaid: This is the case, certainly in the case of de Blasio. This guy’s more open than anybody.

Kincaid: This is the city of 9/11 and [blogger] Trevor Loudon says what’s happening to New York City with this candidate is the perfect storm. We’ve got the Communists coming together, personified by de Blasio’s past, present and future, and you have the Muslims in alliance with him. Together, this is the critical thing, in dismantling the NYPD’s counterterrorism programs and decimating its intelligence bureau, you are setting the city up, and the nation, for another 9/11.

Wiles: And in the White House is the perfect political hybrid, a Marxist Muslim who is in the White House right now and is orchestrating this alliance to dismantle the United States of America.

Hagee: 'If Man Says Something That Is Contradictory To What God Says, Man Is Lying'

On this week's "Hagee Hotline," Matthew Hagee responded to a question from a viewer asking how to respond to a new book that claims that the story of Jesus Christ was fabricated as part of a propaganda campaign created by the Roman Government in order to pacify its subjects.

Hagee responded by flatly declaring that the Bible says that God is truth, therefore "if man says something that is contradictory to what God says, man is lying."

Claiming that you cannot trust supposed "ancient confessions," Hagee asserted that the Word of God has been tried, found true, and sustained for thousands of years, so the solution to this problem is for the viewer to just "stop researching Christ and you start believing in Christ":

The ENDA is Near: The Top Ten Religious Right Claims About the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (UPDATED)

With the Senate expected to vote on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act before Thanksgiving, here’s a look at Right Wing Watch’s collection of recent – and classic – claims from the Religious Right about ENDA.  Because ENDA is common sense legislation that would make it illegal to fire, refuse to hire, or refuse to promote employees because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, the Right cannot gain much traction by opposing ENDA on its merits.  Instead, resorting to fear-mongering and lies, they contend that ENDA will lead to everything from the end of religious freedom to sexual assault and death. As the vote approaches, senators will have to choose whether they will cast their lot with anti-gay extremists or with common sense.

10. Matt Barber: ENDA And Hate Crimes Laws Will Be Used To Protect Pedophiles (October 2013)

Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel appeared on Sandy Rios In The Morning, where he told guest host Wendy Wright that hate crimes laws and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act will be used to protect pedophiles:

“When you have laws like ENDA, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, being pushed, hate crimes legislation, that are as you point out so well Wendy, that are very vague in their definition of what is sexual orientation, we will arrive at the point where you know these people who define their sexual orientation by a sexual attraction to children want to be lumped in among those who cannot be discriminated against based upon their sexual orientation.”

9. Steve Crampton: ENDA is Insanity (June 2012)

Speaking about a Senate hearing on ENDA, Liberty Counsel’s “Faith and Freedom” radio host Steve Crampton marveled that a transgender person was actually allowed to testify on behalf of the legislation and complained that ENDA is not about “equal rights” but rather “special rights” for gays and cross-dressers.

Crampton stated that if ENDA passed, he could come into work – “God forbid,” he said – wearing a dress and would be allowed to use the women’s restroom.  “In years past,” Crampton said, “we had another word for this: it’s called insanity.”

8. Rep. Louie Gohmert Misleads on ENDA, Criticizes Faith Groups that Affirm Gays and Lesbians 'Despite the Plumbing that God Created' (June 2012)

While speaking on Today’s Issues, the Texas congressman said the anti-discrimination legislation is “part of this administration’s ongoing war on religion, on particularly Judeo-Christian values,” and asserted that Muslims would also oppose the bill as well. However, Gohmert lamented the growth of Christian and Jewish denominations and organizations that affirm gays and lesbians and defend their rights, saying that they do so “despite the plumbing that God created.”

7. Mat Staver: ENDA ‘Will Harm Women and Children’ (July 2013)

Liberty Counsel head Mat Staver in a Freedom’s Call radio alert said that the ENDA bill is a “farce” that will “harm women and children.” How? Because employers “will be forced to hire cross-dressers,” whom Staver believes will go on to molest and assault kids.

6. Linda Harvey: Gays Deserve To Be Fired Because They ‘Insist On Displaying [Their] Lifestyles To Everyone’ (May 2013)

Mission America’s Linda Harvey stated her belief that schools, and employers in general, should have the right to fire LGBT personnel and urged them to exercise that right. She said that the only person to blame for getting fired is the LGBT employee who refuses to accept their employer’s “high moral standards” and “insist[s] on displaying these lifestyles to everyone and forcing their acceptance.” She said that “no one needs to be involved in homosexuality” and that the “homosexual lifestyle” is incompatible with being “an excellent employee” as it “shows a disrespect” to others.

5. Tony Perkins: ‘Totalitarian Homosexual Lobby’ Out to Destroy Religious Freedom with ENDA (March 2013)

“Like a B-grade 1950’s horror-movie, ENDA is coming back from the dead,” warned Family Research Council President Tony Perkins in a recent mailing. Perkins said President Obama is working with the “totalitarian homosexual lobby” to sneak ENDA into law, and if that happens, “Our freedom of religion will be destroyed.”

“In fact,” says Perkins in his letter, “under ENDA biblical morality becomes illegal.”

4. Andrea Lafferty Cites CT School Shooting to Rally Opposition to Non-Discrimination Policies (December 2012)

Andrea Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition used the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, in order to bolster her campaign against ENDA. While speaking to Janet Mefferd about the Orange County, Florida, school system’s new non-discrimination policy that is similar to ENDA, Lafferty said that just as parents are upset about the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting and are concerned about keeping their children safe, they should also be worried about ENDA’s “devastating effects” as schools will have “people with some real issues playing out their personal problems in the classroom.”

Lafferty maintained that ENDA is part of the left’s “open season” on Christians on behalf of “fringe minorities and people that are truly sick.”  She warned that Chick-fil-A restaurants may soon be “forced” to hire “weirdos” seeking to undermine Christian businesses, warning that transgender people are committing “the ultimate act of self-hatred” and need “special medical treatment” rather than job protections.

3. Gordon Klingenschmitt: Under ENDA, ‘Christians Will Be Bankrupted’ And ‘Starve To Death’ (September 2013)

Dr. “Chaps” Gordon Klingenschmitt emailed members of his Pray In Jesus Name Project warning that Christians may face unemployment and starvation if the Employment Non-Discrimination Act passes.

“The Government is now ordering you: Forsake God or starve to death,” Klingenschmitt writes. “I pray that I would choose bankruptcy, starvation, even death, before disobedience to God.”

2. Bryan Fischer: Businesses Threatened by ‘Flaming Homosexual’ Job Applicants and the ‘Return of Jim Crow Laws’ (January 2013)

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer warned in a blog post that “ENDA would represent the return of Jim Crow laws.” On his radio program Focal Point, Fischer warned that if ENDA is signed into law businesses will be faced with a barrage of “flaming homosexual” job applicants. “The homosexual lobby,” Fischer said, “will send a guy in there wearing stilettos, a dress and dangly earrings” in order to provoke Christian business-owners “not to hire him.”

1. Mat Staver: ENDA Will Result in the 'Death of Some Individuals' (June 2012)

Liberty Counsel chairman Mat Staver is ratcheting up the rhetoric in opposition to ENDA, even going so far as to say that if passed the legislation may lead to child molestation, sexual assault, and death. Staver told Jim Schneider of VCY America on Crosstalk that ENDA “will put individuals at risk and ultimately result in significant damage and even death of some individuals”:

Staver: “So you can go into these restrooms or changing rooms, if you’re a man, and want to go in and molest, or watch, or sexually assault young girls. So, I mean, the absurdity of this is just beyond understanding how someone could be in favor of it. This will ultimately, in addition to colliding with religious liberty, in addition to forcing a radical agenda on people, this also will put individuals at risk and ultimately result in significant damage and even death of some individuals.”

Glenn Beck Cites George Washington But Mount Vernon Begs To Differ

A few weeks ago, we posted a clip of Glenn Beck telling parents to push their children up against the wall (figuratively, he now insists) in order to teach them that their rights comes from God and not the government.

That video prompted an atheist named James Kirk Wall to write a column arguing that rights do not, in fact, come from God, which in turn prompted Beck to spend nearly two complete segments of his radio program today mockingly responding to Wall's column.

At the end of Wall's piece, he offered a quote from George Washington which really irked Beck, who responded (6:00 in) that quoting Washington in defense of atheism was "ignorant" as he then proceeded to rattle off four other quotes from Washington that felt refuted Wall's point:

The only problem for Beck is that, according to Mount Vernon, two of the quotes he used are misattributed misquotes:

"It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible."

The quote is frequently misattributed to Washington, particularly in regards to his farewell address of 1796. The origin of the misquote is, perhaps, a mention of a similar statement in a biography of Washington first published in 1835. However, the quote that appeared in the biography has never been proven to have come from Washington.

"What students would learn in American schools above all is the religion of Jesus Christ."

This misquote is often attributed to Washington's speech to Delaware tribal leaders on May 12, 1779. However, it is both inaccurate in terms of words as well as meaning. The actual quote reads: "My ears hear with pleasure the other matters you mention. Congress will be glad to hear them too. You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ. These will make you a greater and happier people than you are. Congress will do every thing they can to assist you in this wise intention; and to tie the knot of friendship and union so fast, that nothing shall ever be able to loose it." The quote has its own historical significance and reflected Washington's eventual presidential policies aimed at encouraging cultural and religious assimilation of Native Americans.

Charisma: Sandra Day O'Connor Bringing God's Judgment By Officiating Wedding For Gay Couple

Former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor recently conducted a wedding at the Supreme Court for Jeffrey Trammell and Stuart Serkin, and Charisma magazine is warning that as a result divine retribution is right around the corner. Charisma posted a Reuters article by Lawrence Hurley and gave it the title: “Is Judgment Far Off? Gay Wedding Ceremonies Taking Place at US Supreme Court.”

The magazine asked readers to “sound off” by responding to the question: “Is this a prophetic sign of the state of our nation? Does it bother you that gay weddings are taking place at our nation’s High Court?”

Pratt: Impeach Obama Before He Takes 'Total Control'

Gun Owners of America head Larry Pratt appeared on the Talk To Solomon Show this week to issue his usual warnings about President Obama becoming a dictator. He told Solomon that Obama is “a very dangerous man” who “really has an impulse for total control,” calling on Republicans in Congress to refuse to fund Obama-backed projects. He says that this will provoke Obama to “spend money without authorization” and that will be “the time to impeach him.”

Pratt later discussed with co-hosts Stan Solomon and Steve Davis the best ways to repeal Obamacare, with Pratt urging that Republicans dismantle the health care law before “people start getting free stuff.”

“We’re on death row, Obamacare has put the American people on death row,” Davis charged, warning Americans will soon be “destroyed by Obamacare.” Solomon said that Obama administration officials are “sucking the brains out of America through their nostrils” and said he is “all for killing anything and everything and all things, I did not say anything about any people although if some of them on the left dropped dead I certainly will take the time to go to their funerals so I have a place to urinate.”

Davis chimed in: “Well there’s a death panel for that now.”

“But that doesn’t apply to Democrats,” Solomon replied.

FRC: Universal Preschool Leads To Socialist, Atheist Indoctrination

The Family Research Council is very upset about Democratic efforts to invest in early education, and is particularly peeved that Nancy Pelosi suggested that preschool “frees parents to earn without carrying the burden of childcare.”

On yesterday’s edition of Washington Watch, the FRC’s Tony Perkins and Anna Higgins FRC discussed the supposed dangers of universal pre-K. The two falsely claimed that such plans would compel parents to put their kids into preschool, which they argued would undermine family structures, particularly the role of women in the family.

“We know that this is the opposite of supporting families,” Higgins said of preschool. “Nothing good can come of regulating familial responsibility to the government. It seems to be the running theme of liberals and pro-abortion feminists that it’s children that are holding women back from actually succeeding in society and in the workforce.”

Perkins claimed that universal pre-k is “part of socialism” and “government indoctrination from the cradle to the grave.” “The USSR had lots of universal care for children and the reasoning behind that was so that they could instill atheism in the children,” Higgins added.

DeLay: 'God Created This Nation And God Created The Constitution'

During a service last weekend, John Hagee spent a half hour interviewing former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay during which DeLay revealed that God has commissioned him to write a book and promised him that he'll play a role in the coming spiritual revival.

Hagee praised DeLay for being victorious over the Devil by beating the corruption charges that ended his political career, while DeLay asserted that God was the author of the United States Constitution.

"Jesus died for our freedom," DeLay said. "And Jesus destroyed Satan so that we could be free and that is manifested in what is called the Constitution of the United States. God created this nation and God created the Constitution; it is written on biblical principles."

DeLay went on to recount a recent experience he had in which he spent four hours "on a conference call with the Lord" during which God told DeLay that he is to write a book called "Shut It Down" about the need for Constitutional revival. On top of that, God also told DeLay that He has heard the voice of His people and that "my awakening is beginning," in which DeLay will play a role:
