Hagee: 'If Man Says Something That Is Contradictory To What God Says, Man Is Lying'

On this week's "Hagee Hotline," Matthew Hagee responded to a question from a viewer asking how to respond to a new book that claims that the story of Jesus Christ was fabricated as part of a propaganda campaign created by the Roman Government in order to pacify its subjects.

Hagee responded by flatly declaring that the Bible says that God is truth, therefore "if man says something that is contradictory to what God says, man is lying."

Claiming that you cannot trust supposed "ancient confessions," Hagee asserted that the Word of God has been tried, found true, and sustained for thousands of years, so the solution to this problem is for the viewer to just "stop researching Christ and you start believing in Christ":

The ENDA is Near: The Top Ten Religious Right Claims About the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (UPDATED)

With the Senate expected to vote on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act before Thanksgiving, here’s a look at Right Wing Watch’s collection of recent – and classic – claims from the Religious Right about ENDA.  Because ENDA is common sense legislation that would make it illegal to fire, refuse to hire, or refuse to promote employees because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, the Right cannot gain much traction by opposing ENDA on its merits.  Instead, resorting to fear-mongering and lies, they contend that ENDA will lead to everything from the end of religious freedom to sexual assault and death. As the vote approaches, senators will have to choose whether they will cast their lot with anti-gay extremists or with common sense.

10. Matt Barber: ENDA And Hate Crimes Laws Will Be Used To Protect Pedophiles (October 2013)

Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel appeared on Sandy Rios In The Morning, where he told guest host Wendy Wright that hate crimes laws and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act will be used to protect pedophiles:

“When you have laws like ENDA, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, being pushed, hate crimes legislation, that are as you point out so well Wendy, that are very vague in their definition of what is sexual orientation, we will arrive at the point where you know these people who define their sexual orientation by a sexual attraction to children want to be lumped in among those who cannot be discriminated against based upon their sexual orientation.”

9. Steve Crampton: ENDA is Insanity (June 2012)

Speaking about a Senate hearing on ENDA, Liberty Counsel’s “Faith and Freedom” radio host Steve Crampton marveled that a transgender person was actually allowed to testify on behalf of the legislation and complained that ENDA is not about “equal rights” but rather “special rights” for gays and cross-dressers.

Crampton stated that if ENDA passed, he could come into work – “God forbid,” he said – wearing a dress and would be allowed to use the women’s restroom.  “In years past,” Crampton said, “we had another word for this: it’s called insanity.”

8. Rep. Louie Gohmert Misleads on ENDA, Criticizes Faith Groups that Affirm Gays and Lesbians 'Despite the Plumbing that God Created' (June 2012)

While speaking on Today’s Issues, the Texas congressman said the anti-discrimination legislation is “part of this administration’s ongoing war on religion, on particularly Judeo-Christian values,” and asserted that Muslims would also oppose the bill as well. However, Gohmert lamented the growth of Christian and Jewish denominations and organizations that affirm gays and lesbians and defend their rights, saying that they do so “despite the plumbing that God created.”

7. Mat Staver: ENDA ‘Will Harm Women and Children’ (July 2013)

Liberty Counsel head Mat Staver in a Freedom’s Call radio alert said that the ENDA bill is a “farce” that will “harm women and children.” How? Because employers “will be forced to hire cross-dressers,” whom Staver believes will go on to molest and assault kids.

6. Linda Harvey: Gays Deserve To Be Fired Because They ‘Insist On Displaying [Their] Lifestyles To Everyone’ (May 2013)

Mission America’s Linda Harvey stated her belief that schools, and employers in general, should have the right to fire LGBT personnel and urged them to exercise that right. She said that the only person to blame for getting fired is the LGBT employee who refuses to accept their employer’s “high moral standards” and “insist[s] on displaying these lifestyles to everyone and forcing their acceptance.” She said that “no one needs to be involved in homosexuality” and that the “homosexual lifestyle” is incompatible with being “an excellent employee” as it “shows a disrespect” to others.

5. Tony Perkins: ‘Totalitarian Homosexual Lobby’ Out to Destroy Religious Freedom with ENDA (March 2013)

“Like a B-grade 1950’s horror-movie, ENDA is coming back from the dead,” warned Family Research Council President Tony Perkins in a recent mailing. Perkins said President Obama is working with the “totalitarian homosexual lobby” to sneak ENDA into law, and if that happens, “Our freedom of religion will be destroyed.”

“In fact,” says Perkins in his letter, “under ENDA biblical morality becomes illegal.”

4. Andrea Lafferty Cites CT School Shooting to Rally Opposition to Non-Discrimination Policies (December 2012)

Andrea Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition used the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, in order to bolster her campaign against ENDA. While speaking to Janet Mefferd about the Orange County, Florida, school system’s new non-discrimination policy that is similar to ENDA, Lafferty said that just as parents are upset about the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting and are concerned about keeping their children safe, they should also be worried about ENDA’s “devastating effects” as schools will have “people with some real issues playing out their personal problems in the classroom.”

Lafferty maintained that ENDA is part of the left’s “open season” on Christians on behalf of “fringe minorities and people that are truly sick.”  She warned that Chick-fil-A restaurants may soon be “forced” to hire “weirdos” seeking to undermine Christian businesses, warning that transgender people are committing “the ultimate act of self-hatred” and need “special medical treatment” rather than job protections.

3. Gordon Klingenschmitt: Under ENDA, ‘Christians Will Be Bankrupted’ And ‘Starve To Death’ (September 2013)

Dr. “Chaps” Gordon Klingenschmitt emailed members of his Pray In Jesus Name Project warning that Christians may face unemployment and starvation if the Employment Non-Discrimination Act passes.

“The Government is now ordering you: Forsake God or starve to death,” Klingenschmitt writes. “I pray that I would choose bankruptcy, starvation, even death, before disobedience to God.”

2. Bryan Fischer: Businesses Threatened by ‘Flaming Homosexual’ Job Applicants and the ‘Return of Jim Crow Laws’ (January 2013)

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer warned in a blog post that “ENDA would represent the return of Jim Crow laws.” On his radio program Focal Point, Fischer warned that if ENDA is signed into law businesses will be faced with a barrage of “flaming homosexual” job applicants. “The homosexual lobby,” Fischer said, “will send a guy in there wearing stilettos, a dress and dangly earrings” in order to provoke Christian business-owners “not to hire him.”

1. Mat Staver: ENDA Will Result in the 'Death of Some Individuals' (June 2012)

Liberty Counsel chairman Mat Staver is ratcheting up the rhetoric in opposition to ENDA, even going so far as to say that if passed the legislation may lead to child molestation, sexual assault, and death. Staver told Jim Schneider of VCY America on Crosstalk that ENDA “will put individuals at risk and ultimately result in significant damage and even death of some individuals”:

Staver: “So you can go into these restrooms or changing rooms, if you’re a man, and want to go in and molest, or watch, or sexually assault young girls. So, I mean, the absurdity of this is just beyond understanding how someone could be in favor of it. This will ultimately, in addition to colliding with religious liberty, in addition to forcing a radical agenda on people, this also will put individuals at risk and ultimately result in significant damage and even death of some individuals.”

Glenn Beck Cites George Washington But Mount Vernon Begs To Differ

A few weeks ago, we posted a clip of Glenn Beck telling parents to push their children up against the wall (figuratively, he now insists) in order to teach them that their rights comes from God and not the government.

That video prompted an atheist named James Kirk Wall to write a column arguing that rights do not, in fact, come from God, which in turn prompted Beck to spend nearly two complete segments of his radio program today mockingly responding to Wall's column.

At the end of Wall's piece, he offered a quote from George Washington which really irked Beck, who responded (6:00 in) that quoting Washington in defense of atheism was "ignorant" as he then proceeded to rattle off four other quotes from Washington that felt refuted Wall's point:

The only problem for Beck is that, according to Mount Vernon, two of the quotes he used are misattributed misquotes:

"It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible."

The quote is frequently misattributed to Washington, particularly in regards to his farewell address of 1796. The origin of the misquote is, perhaps, a mention of a similar statement in a biography of Washington first published in 1835. However, the quote that appeared in the biography has never been proven to have come from Washington.

"What students would learn in American schools above all is the religion of Jesus Christ."

This misquote is often attributed to Washington's speech to Delaware tribal leaders on May 12, 1779. However, it is both inaccurate in terms of words as well as meaning. The actual quote reads: "My ears hear with pleasure the other matters you mention. Congress will be glad to hear them too. You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ. These will make you a greater and happier people than you are. Congress will do every thing they can to assist you in this wise intention; and to tie the knot of friendship and union so fast, that nothing shall ever be able to loose it." The quote has its own historical significance and reflected Washington's eventual presidential policies aimed at encouraging cultural and religious assimilation of Native Americans.

Charisma: Sandra Day O'Connor Bringing God's Judgment By Officiating Wedding For Gay Couple

Former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor recently conducted a wedding at the Supreme Court for Jeffrey Trammell and Stuart Serkin, and Charisma magazine is warning that as a result divine retribution is right around the corner. Charisma posted a Reuters article by Lawrence Hurley and gave it the title: “Is Judgment Far Off? Gay Wedding Ceremonies Taking Place at US Supreme Court.”

The magazine asked readers to “sound off” by responding to the question: “Is this a prophetic sign of the state of our nation? Does it bother you that gay weddings are taking place at our nation’s High Court?”

Pratt: Impeach Obama Before He Takes 'Total Control'

Gun Owners of America head Larry Pratt appeared on the Talk To Solomon Show this week to issue his usual warnings about President Obama becoming a dictator. He told Solomon that Obama is “a very dangerous man” who “really has an impulse for total control,” calling on Republicans in Congress to refuse to fund Obama-backed projects. He says that this will provoke Obama to “spend money without authorization” and that will be “the time to impeach him.”

Pratt later discussed with co-hosts Stan Solomon and Steve Davis the best ways to repeal Obamacare, with Pratt urging that Republicans dismantle the health care law before “people start getting free stuff.”

“We’re on death row, Obamacare has put the American people on death row,” Davis charged, warning Americans will soon be “destroyed by Obamacare.” Solomon said that Obama administration officials are “sucking the brains out of America through their nostrils” and said he is “all for killing anything and everything and all things, I did not say anything about any people although if some of them on the left dropped dead I certainly will take the time to go to their funerals so I have a place to urinate.”

Davis chimed in: “Well there’s a death panel for that now.”

“But that doesn’t apply to Democrats,” Solomon replied.

FRC: Universal Preschool Leads To Socialist, Atheist Indoctrination

The Family Research Council is very upset about Democratic efforts to invest in early education, and is particularly peeved that Nancy Pelosi suggested that preschool “frees parents to earn without carrying the burden of childcare.”

On yesterday’s edition of Washington Watch, the FRC’s Tony Perkins and Anna Higgins FRC discussed the supposed dangers of universal pre-K. The two falsely claimed that such plans would compel parents to put their kids into preschool, which they argued would undermine family structures, particularly the role of women in the family.

“We know that this is the opposite of supporting families,” Higgins said of preschool. “Nothing good can come of regulating familial responsibility to the government. It seems to be the running theme of liberals and pro-abortion feminists that it’s children that are holding women back from actually succeeding in society and in the workforce.”

Perkins claimed that universal pre-k is “part of socialism” and “government indoctrination from the cradle to the grave.” “The USSR had lots of universal care for children and the reasoning behind that was so that they could instill atheism in the children,” Higgins added.

DeLay: 'God Created This Nation And God Created The Constitution'

During a service last weekend, John Hagee spent a half hour interviewing former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay during which DeLay revealed that God has commissioned him to write a book and promised him that he'll play a role in the coming spiritual revival.

Hagee praised DeLay for being victorious over the Devil by beating the corruption charges that ended his political career, while DeLay asserted that God was the author of the United States Constitution.

"Jesus died for our freedom," DeLay said. "And Jesus destroyed Satan so that we could be free and that is manifested in what is called the Constitution of the United States. God created this nation and God created the Constitution; it is written on biblical principles."

DeLay went on to recount a recent experience he had in which he spent four hours "on a conference call with the Lord" during which God told DeLay that he is to write a book called "Shut It Down" about the need for Constitutional revival. On top of that, God also told DeLay that He has heard the voice of His people and that "my awakening is beginning," in which DeLay will play a role:

WND Compares 'Satanic' Halloween To Violence In The Roman Colosseum

If you celebrate or at least don’t mind Halloween, then you are just like those who watched as people were killed in the Roman Coliseum, at least according to WorldNetDaily’s resident demonologist.

In Karl Payne’s latest column, he warns that Halloween has “destructive” consequences that “can haunt a person for eternity,” contending that people who participate in Halloween are really no different than the Romans who were entertained by people dying in the Colosseum.

To make the observation that things have changed culturally in the 21st century from the post-war innocence experienced by many in this country is an understatement. Today we exist in the midst of the loss of innocence and the joy of age-appropriate discovery. Hedonism, in a context of amoral and ethical relativism, is celebrated and force fed from the womb to tomb through a media that more represents an ideological water cannon than a responsible public trust. The secularization of this once great country is complete. The only real question now is how far it will fall in its depravity before, if or when people in the public square turn their gaze up rather than in.

Today Halloween for many is a horror show providing an excuse for people to glorify the deviance and decadence they watch ad nauseam in movie theaters and on public and cable television screens seven days of the week. Everything is a game that can be reset and started over at the click of a mouse. It’s just harmless entertainment that can be enjoyed or ignored. If you don’t like it, don’t turn it on. Who are you to dictate what is right or wrong for others?

Why am I concerned about the way Halloween, the media and our current culture encourage the celebration and trivialization of spiritism, occultism, Satanism, hedonism, witches, zombies and walking on the dark side with demons? Because the supernatural world is real, and no one is immune to it regardless of their education or worldview. God is real. Angels are real. Satan is real. Demons are real. Real gladiators and real Christians died in the Colosseum and circus even though many Roman leaders and citizens just considered their destruction an evening of entertainment.

I have witnessed the reality of demonic bondage hundreds and hundreds of times. I have also witnessed individuals being set free through deliverance from demonic bondage hundreds and hundreds of times. Christian missionaries who live in the midst of this reality have thanked me many times for writing this book. Religious academics as well as atheistic secularists are more inclined to ridicule or ignore the subject. Curious.

Naturalists redefining the subject do not change the reality of the subject. A holiday celebrating the subject, promoting it as nothing more than a day to collect candy, celebrate the dark side, or mock God, does not change the reality of the subject.

The Roman gladitorium and circus were real, but just entertainment that could be enjoyed or ignored. If you don’t like watching men killing each other as people jeered or cheered, or helpless women and children being eaten by animals, don’t go to the Colosseum or arenas. Who are you to dictate what is right or wrong for others?

Will members of the church of God, the body of Christ, make their goal to stand up and speak out or continue to blend in and hide, fearing the rejection or rebuff of the very ones they were commissioned to help? Too many Christians today in North America represent lifeguards who cannot swim and firemen who are afraid to smell smoke or get wet.

Halloween as it is celebrated by many today represents a trick, not a treat, and the consequences of this trick can not only be destructive in time, they can haunt a person for eternity.

Linda Harvey Cites Harassment Hoax To Rail Against 'Diabolical' Transgender Rights

Yesterday, Linda Harvey of Mission America cited a hoax story of a transgender girl in Florence, Colorado, supposedly harassing other students in school. Even though the story was debunked earlier this month, Religious Right activists and conservative news outlets ran with the story.

The Pacific Justice Institute concocted the smear campaign against the Colorado student, who has since been placed on suicide watch, and has since admitted that it has no evidence to back up the charges.

But since such fictitious tales like a boy getting disciplined in school for praying and Planned Parenthood teaching how to cover up domestic abuse never seem to die if they support Religious Right conspiracy theories, Harvey played up the discredited harassment claims anyway and called it a sign that liberals are “using our children as guinea pigs” for their “diabolical experiments.”

Do you ever feel like you’ve just landed on a different planet? I do when I learn about situations like the following. Several girls at a school in Colorado are finding out just exactly what is involved in transgender rights. An older boy has been entering the girls’ restroom at Florence High School in Florence, Colorado, claiming he’s a female and then he’s apparently been harassing some of the actual, biological girls. But when the girls’ families contacted the school, did this legitimate complaint receive respectful attention from officials? Not exactly. The school is defending this aggressive boy and his rights and the privacy rights of the girls are being waved away as not that important.

There are always going to be healthy boundaries of privacy and modesty that we as Christians learn through our respect for ourselves as males and females and our respect for others, from little children to the elderly. These appropriate boundaries are being challenged and where possible smashed by the left, sometimes using our children as guinea pigs for these diabolical experiments. We must be courageous to stand up to these challenges and teach our children to do the same.

E.W. Jackson: God Created The Tea Party

Following his outburst against gay service members at a 2011 Virginia Family Forum meeting, E.W. Jackson claimed that God is behind the Tea Party movement. Jackson, who is now the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Virginia, said that the 2008 election “broke my heart” and didn’t understand why God would allow the “grave danger” of Obama’s election…until realizing it was part of God’s plan to beget the Tea Party.

“The Tea Party is a move of God to stir this nation’s back to its conscience and back to its senses,” Jackson told conservative activists. “I remember saying, God we prayed Lord but we didn’t win, but you know what God said to me? ‘You won, you won.’ I couldn’t figure out what that meant until I began to hear some of the things I heard and then I realized what it meant: it meant that maybe the best thing that has ever happened to this country was the election of the last president because he has awakened a sleeping giant and I trust that now that we’re awake we will never go back to sleep again.”

Of course, recent polls show that opposition to the Tea Party nationwide and among Virginians has hit record highs.

Cruz To Join Christian Nation Activists In South Carolina

Update, 10/30: The Dallas Morning News is now reporting that Mike Lee will not be attending the summit.

Ted Cruz and Tim Scott will be joining Religious Right leaders in South Carolina, an early primary state, in the beginning of November for a Renewal Project conference organized by David Lane.

Lane believes that the US may soon face car bombings as a form of divine retribution over gay rights and legal abortion, and believes that his Renewal Projects can activate enough pastors and conservative voters to save America.

Wayne Slater of the Dallas Morning News reports that Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) will be attending as well. It is a tad ironic that Lee, a Mormon, would be addressing a summit hosted by Lane, who promoted attacks against “the false god of Mormonism” during the last primary campaign against Mitt Romney.

But Lane’s push to move the GOP towards embracing the Religious Right’s agenda has made him a weighty figure, as over the summer Republican leaders including Cruz, Rand Paul and Reince Priebus attended his Iowa summit.

American Family Association founder Don Wildmon, Religious Right historian William Federer and pastors Laurence White and Ken Graves are also listed as featured speakers.

Wildmon for decades has preached the virtues of censorship and supposed evils of homosexuality, while Federer believes that President Obama and Hillary Clinton are advancing Sharia law and has predicted that the military will be used to oppress gay rights opponents (along with several Obama “October surprises” which never materialized).

Not to be outdone, White has regularly predicted America’s imminent doom and Graves made a name for himself by offering his special insights on gay family dynamics.

E.W. Jackson: God Will Stop Blessing Military Because of Gay Rights

At a 2011 Virginia Family Foundation summit, E.W. Jackson – now the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor – said that God will stop blessing the U.S. military because of a rule that allows chaplains to marry gay service members following the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Jackson told the group that “our military is under attack” by those who want to allow chaplains to marry same-sex couples.

Jackson, who has made a career out of making extreme anti-gay statements, warned: “How in the world can we expect our military to be blessed by the hand of almighty God if we allow our military to become the equivalent of Sodom and Gomorrah? God is not pleased.”

Hagee: 'We're Going To Experience A Hellish Nightmare Unlike Anything We've Ever Known Before'

This weekend, John Hagee began a new four-part sermon series entitled "The God America Has Forgotten," which kicked off with a blistering sermon in which Hagee railed against all of the standard targets (the courts, the public schools, the government, the culture) and against all the standard issues (abortion, gay marriage, anti-Christian bias) as he warned that if this nation continues to reject God, God will remove his protection from this nation.

"The Bible says that all nations that forget God," Hagee thundered, "are turned into Hell.  I assure you that if America continues to reject the way of God, God will lift the hedge of protection from this nation and we're going to experience a hellish nightmare unlike anything we've ever known before. Wake up, America! Let us return to the God of our fathers; the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob":

E.W. Jackson: More Guns Needed In Schools

E.W. Jackson, the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Virginia, told a Republican forum prior to his nomination that a plan to have armed guards in schools didn’t go far enough to prevent school shootings.

He said that “every person who had a concealed carry permit and was trained to use a firearm” should be “allowed to bring that firearm to school,” adding that he believes it is a Second Amendment right to bring guns to schools.

Jackson has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association and the Gun Owners of America, and earlier this year blamed urban violence on young people “treating [their] bodies as sexual objects.”

Cuccinelli, 2009: Republican Areas Are The 'Real Virginia'

Back in 2009, then-State Senator Ken Cuccinelli told the Shenandoah County Republican Party that it was nice to leave Richmond for the heavily Republican county because “the real Virginia is here.”

Cuccinelli, now the GOP nominee for governor, made the remark while defending Sarah Palin’s famous comment that conservative areas represent the “real America” and are more “pro-America” than the rest of the country.

Cuccinelli was also echoing the remarks of the McCain-Palin campaign’s Nancy Pfotenhauer, who said in 2008 that the more conservative regions outside of northern Virginia are the “real Virginia.”

In 2006, then-Sen. George Allen told a Democratic campaign worker of of Indian descent: “Let's give a welcome to Macaca here. Welcome to America and the real world of Virginia.”

Cuccinelli also discussed his fight to defund Planned Parenthood and defend anti-gay marriage laws in a video of the event posted by a Virginia Republican activist.

Beck: Obama's 'Class War' Is Responsible For A Brutal Murder Of Five People

On his television program last night, Glenn Beck warned that "words have power" and did so in order to hold President Obama responsible for the brutal murder of a family of five over the weekend.

The family was reportedly murdered by a relative who had immigrated from China and had been staying with them but who became enraged when they tried to kick him out, going on a rampage and killing a mother and four young children because "[h]e felt they had everything and that he had nothing. They were doing well and he was struggling just to get by."

According to the police, the suspect "speaks no English and talked to cops through a Mandarin translator," but Beck nonetheless blamed the murder on the "class war" that President Obama has been waging against the rich in America.

"Tonight I want to introduce you to the first victims in this war on the wealthy," Beck said as he directly linked these murder to the Obama administration.

"Part of my job," Beck continued, "is to inform you on what I see coming, but you're seeing it now, it's here: a class war and a race war, not of your doing":

Numbers USA To Marco Rubio: Too Little, Too Late

Sen. Marco Rubio’s politically transparent U-turn on immigration reform may not be paying dividends among anti-immigrant activists as he would have hoped. The Florida Republican recently came out against the very comprehensive reform legislation he sponsored and helped pass in the Senate, but one of the country’s top opponents of his bill think it’s too little, too late.

NumbersUSA Director of Government Relations Rosemary Jenks told Sandy Rios yesterday that Rubio has already “poisoned the well” and now her group will urge congressman to vote against any immigration bill coming out of the House.

Rios: Do you think that Marco Rubio’s shift, slight shift, is helpful?

Jenks: Unfortunately, Rubio set out his positions in the Gang of 8 bill and that bill has essentially poisoned the well. We can’t go forward with a piecemeal approach now because that bill is sitting there, waiting for the House to pass any immigration bill so that Harry Reid can take that bill and substitute in S. 744, the Senate Gang of 8 bill, and then send it back to the House for a conference. That’s the path. So at this point, because that bill has poisoned the well, it’s too late for Marco Rubio to say, ‘oh you know I believed in a piecemeal approach all along and that’s what we should do.

Every vote will be critical to passage. Thank those already in support for protecting LGBT workers. Tell those who aren't yet on board to say yes to common sense and no to anti-gay extremists.
