WorldNetDaily Blames The Media, Civil Rights Activists And Obama For Navy Yard Shooting

WorldNetDaily columnist Erik Rush, who believes that the Navy Yard shooting was a false flag “gun-grab theater,” is out with a column today wondering if shooter Aaron Alexis was a “race warrior.”

He claims that Alexis probably went on the rampage because he “felt disaffected due to his race,” which he blames on “the self-serving machinations of the political left, career civil rights activists and the Obama administration in particular.”

According to Rush, the “political left” wins black voters over by “re-igniting the bitterness and militancy radical black activists displayed during the Civil Rights Movement,” contributing to Alexis’ supposed “racial hatred.”

Given all of the data, one cannot help but factor in the alleged racism Alexis claimed to have suffered as a possible contributing factor in the shootings. The racial climate in America has been deliberately poisoned in recent years by the self-serving machinations of the political left, career civil rights activists and the Obama administration in particular. This has led to a near-epidemic in black-on-white crime, one which goes wholly unreported by the establishment press. Might this contrived, institutional advancement of racial tension have contributed to the rage and instability of a man who already felt disaffected due to his race?

That sense of entitlement and tendency toward feeling disrespected among black Americans is part and parcel of the worldview spoon-fed to blacks by the political left. It is a common theme and corrosive thread that has run through the left’s racial narrative for decades. Indeed, this has been employed in order to entice blacks into political allegiance with the left, in keeping them in socioeconomic thralldom and – more recently – in re-igniting the bitterness and militancy radical black activists displayed during the Civil Rights Movement.

Was racial hatred the prime motivator for Aaron Alexis’ heinous attack this week, a factor, or a non-issue? While it is altogether possible that his were the actions of an individual with a psyche disintegrating so rapidly that even he may not have fully understood why he acted as he did, failing to consider race in light of the current political and social landscape would be imprudent indeed.

Rush’s WND colleague Jack Cashill agrees, and asserts that Alexis’ psychological problems “were aggravated by the message that the Democratic-media complex has been steadily pumping out, namely that a black American can never expect justice.”

“As the saner among the media elite know, the blame circles back upon themselves,” Cashill writes. “They helped create the atmosphere in which an emotionally unstable black person finds it easier to blame whites than he does himself.” The right-wing commentator goes on to blame the liberal media for having “continued to drum into the head of African-Americans the pervasiveness of racism in America.”

Aaron Alexis, the former Navy reservist who killed a dozen people in Monday’s Navy Yard shooting, no doubt had psychological problems aplenty.

But evidence suggests that those problems were aggravated by the message that the Democratic-media complex has been steadily pumping out, namely that a black American can never expect justice.

In the past, the media have desperately sought to blame mass violence directly on the right, as they did after the shootings in Tucson and Aurora, Colo., or to blame the right indirectly by focusing on guns, as they did after the Sandy Hook school shooting.

That doesn’t work here. As the saner among the media elite know, the blame circles back upon themselves. They helped create the atmosphere in which an emotionally unstable black person finds it easier to blame whites than he does himself.

In the month of his inauguration, 79 percent of whites and 63 percent of blacks held a favorable view of race relations in America.

By July 2013, those figures had fallen to 52 percent among whites and 38 percent among blacks, a calamitous decline, rarely addressed, never explained.

Although there are as many reasons for the decline in those numbers as there are for the decline in Alexis’ mental health, one fact seems undeniable: The media have continued to drum into the head of African-Americans the pervasiveness of racism in America, Obama’s election notwithstanding.

Indeed, by repeatedly interpreting criticism of Obama as racially based, the media have aggravated the tension between blacks and non-blacks.

In his paranoia and rage, Alexis seemed not at all unlike former L.A. cop and fellow Navy reservist Christopher Dorner. In February 2012, Dorner found it much easier to hold a white establishment accountable for his homicidal spree than the personal demons that beset him.

Beck: Impeach Obama To Put A 'Stain On His Record That They Cannot Remove'

Glenn Beck harbors a passionate hatred for President Woodrow Wilson that is only exacerbated by the fact that Wilson is generally regarded as one of America's most successful presidents.

During yesterday's morning meeting, Beck railed against Wilson as he was infuriated by reports that Leonardo DiCaprio was considering portraying Wilson in a forthcoming film.

"Ugh, Leonardo DiCaprio, what a piece of garbage you are!" Beck fumed, before turning his attention to President Obama as he grew outraged that he too would probably be highly-regarded by future generations and historians, which is why he must be impeached now.

"They will make him the greatest president to ever live," Beck complained. "That's why, another reason why, you need to file the articles of impeachment. He needs to have the stain on his record that they cannot remove:

Sandy Rios Troubled By Role Of Women In Response To Navy Yard Shooting: 'It Was The Chicks Running The Show'

American Family Association radio commentator Sandy Rios was upset that women — most notably the FBI’s Valerie Parlave and Washington, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier — took a leading role in the response to the Navy Yard shooting.

On Tuesday, Rios mocked Navy Secretary Ray Mabus for mentioning grief counseling in his comments to the media and went on to marvel at the female presence in the response.

“It really struck me that the people that stood up to speak in the press conferences, the people leading the charge on this are all women,” Rios said, expressing disbelief that “the FBI woman in charge was a little woman.”

“It was the chicks running the show yesterday,” Rios said yesterday during her interview with Elaine Donnelly, “it is a shocking switch of roles.”

Barber: The NALT Christians Project Is 'Apostasy'

Inspired by the success of Dan Savage's "It Gets Better" project, a few weeks ago John Shore and Truth Wins Out launched the Not All Like That (NALT) Christians Project, which is designed to "give LGBT-affirming Christians a means of proclaiming to the world—and especially to young gay people—their belief and conviction that there is nothing anti-biblical or at all inherently sinful about being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender."

Given that mission, it comes as no surprise that Matt Barber and Peter LaBarbera, who are exactly the sort of people that participants in NALT are proclaiming that not all Christians are like, are unhappy about the project, with Barber declaring that he won't stand for being lectured to about Christianity by someone like Savage, who is "one of the most hateful and vile human beings on the planet."

"This is comical," Barber said. "This is laughable.  To have vile, anti-Christian bigots who are pushing a radical, dangerous sexual anarchist agenda presuming to lecture Christians and have people - self-identified Christians, liberal so-called Christians - upload videos about how they support something that God calls an abomination, there's no other word for it, it's apostasy when you have self-described Christians do it.  It is par for the course when you have those who hate God, people like Dan Savage doing it":

Hagee: Navy Yard Shooting Is A Sign Of The End Times

On this week's "Hagee Hotline," Matthew Hagee responded to a question from a viewer asking about signs of the End Times by saying that the warnings that Jesus gave in Matthew 24 were all being played out daily in the newspaper.

Possible military action against Syria, he warned, could lead to World War III, which is the fulfillment of Jesus' assertion that "you will hear of wars and rumors of wars" as the End Times approach.

Jesus also warned of an increase in lawlessness, prompting Hagee to point to the mass shooting at the Navy Yard earlier this week as further proof that "before you know it, Jesus Christ is coming again":

Donnelly Says Allowing Women In Combat Is Like Forcing Cheerleaders To Play In NFL Games; Rios Blames Spider-Woman

Center for Military Readiness head Elaine Donnelly appeared on Sandy Rios In The Morning today to once again warn of the perils of allowing women in combat. She told the American Family Association radio host that the Obama administration’s plan to open combat roles to women service members is “like saying let’s take those cheerleaders and put them into the frontlines of the NFL and football games.”

Rios said that the problem all started with the “feminist influence” found in movies that made women think that they “can do it all.”

“We are watching movies, almost every action movie has a chick hero and she’s stronger than the men, and she’s able to kick and to move and to kill as lethally as they are,” Rios added. “It started maybe with Spider-Woman, I don’t know.”

She went on to recount her time in Israel talking to the country’s female soldiers who “were very proud of what they were able to do” on the frontlines.

Rios sidestepped the issue on whether Israel’s policy towards women in the military harmed its country’s security, unlike her AFA colleague Bryan Fischer who tackled it by falsely claiming that Israel bans women in combat.

Donnelly: In that environment, direct ground combat, women are at a severe disadvantage. They do not have an equal opportunity to survive or help fellow soldiers survive. To force women into that environment it’s like saying let’s take those cheerleaders and put them into the frontlines of the NFL and football games. Well we don’t even do that with the officials in the football games. To do that would be unfair, injuries would skyrocket and it certainly wouldn’t help that team win any games, and that’s non-lethal combat. So if we’re not going to do it in non-lethal combat in the NFL, why are we planning on doing this in lethal combat where national security is at risk?

Rios: You and I both know that our daughters and many women listening to you and me, women our age too, are products of feminist influence even if they don’t consider themselves a feminist. We are watching movies, almost every action movie has a chick hero and she’s stronger than the men, and she’s able to kick and to move and to kill as lethally as they are, with Catherine Zeta Jones and think of all the women who have played these roles. It started maybe with Spider-Woman, I don’t know. It’s like ‘women power’ and ‘we can do this.’ In fact I just was in Israel interviewing some of the females in the Israeli military and they were talking about their frontline experience and they were very proud of what they were able to do, so there’s this mood, this feeling, that women can do it all.

Robertson: San Antonio Will Put Christians In Jail Over Anti-Discrimination Policy

Pat Robertson and his Christian Broadcasting Network filed a report today that falsely claimed that having a “biblical view” on sexuality has been “criminalized” in San Antonio, Texas. Robertson said San Antonio “has gone off the rails” by adopting a non-discrimination ordinance [PDF] which includes protections for sexual orientation and gender identity, and claimed that the new law would lead to Christians being thrown in prison: “This means that if you speak out about your deeply held religious beliefs they will put you in jail or brand you some kind of a class 3 felon.”

“This whole thing is outrageous and that city council should be replaced,” Robertson charged.

The segment quoted Christian Right activists arguing that gay people are seeking “special rights” while taking away the rights to religious freedom and speech of Christians. CBN reporter Heather Sells even said the new policy “criminalizes those with a biblical view of sexuality.”

Of course, the ordinance neither curtails free speech nor bars anti-LGBT politicians from servicing in office.

And no Pat Robertson, it does not put Christians in jail or turn them into felons.

Klingenschmitt: 'Obamacare Causes Cancer'

In addition to being an authority on gay exorcisms and all things demonic, it seems that "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt is also an expert on the topic of health care and has even made two separate appearances on MSNBC's "The Ed Show" debating the issue.

Following one of these appearances, "Dr. Chaps" said on his "Pray In Jesus Name" show today, he received an email from someone defending President Obama's health care reform legislation by telling the story of a friend who was unable to receive treatment for her cancer because she could not get insurance.

In response, "Dr. Chaps" said that Obamacare was not the answer but was, in fact, the cause of her death, saying "Obamacare is the one that killed this poor lady with cancer."

As "Dr. Chaps" sees it, Obamacare is actually causing people to lose their health insurance which means that "Obamacare causes cancer":

Ken Cuccinelli Calls In The Religious Right Reinforcements: Homeschoolers Edition

Yesterday, Virginia GOP gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli attended a fundraiser co-hosted by anti-gay and anti-choice activists. Now, the far-right state attorney general is calling for help from Religious Right leader Michael Farris, who runs Patrick Henry College and the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA).

Generation Joshua is the youth branch of the HSLDA, which sends homeschoolers to work on “races across the country, phone-banking, literature dropping and campaigning on behalf of conservative candidates” who oppose abortion rights and gay equality. “Many battles have been won on the homeschooling front, but there are many battles left to fight because the giants of abortion, homosexuality, and moral relativism remain in our land.”

Cuccinelli was the keynote speaker at the Generation Joshua’s first annual Future of America Banquet, and now the right-wing organization is returning the favor.

Watchdog.org reports that Generation Joshua is hoping to send around 200 students “to work with the Cuccinelli campaign in two weeks” as part of “Operation: Shock and Awe,” which is complete with this fantastic video:

Generation Joshua’s William Estrada said the youth group deserves credit for swaying former Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle’s decision to veto a civil unions law and Farris successfully led the opposition to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Last December, Farris gained publicity for his drive to make sure that no gay students are attending Patrick Henry College. A Patrick Henry professor during the college's annual “Faith and Reason” lecture criticized the government for prosecuting rape, sexual harassment, child abuse and domestic violence cases.

Cuccinelli delivered the 2012 commencement address at Patrick Henry College, where he attacked President Obama for thinking he knows “better than God” on the issue of same-sex marriage and called on graduates to engage in the fight “against the tide of political correctness, the intelligentsia and the media.”

Bryan Fischer Literally Does Not Know What He Is Talking About

As we noted just last week, Bryan Fischer does not bother with things like having evidence or even knowing what he is talking about before going off on an rant on his radio program on some issue that he obviously does not understand.

Like Glenn Beck, Fischer too seized on a report that President Obama had waived prohibitions in the Arms Export Control Act so that the US can provide chemical weapons assistance to Syria and used it to raise the possibility of impeachment:

Don't miss the significance of this, ladies and gentlemen.  We have a president who is breaking the law.  He has no authority to waive this law. He can't do that.  Congress is responsible to pass laws; his job is the execute them, not to write them, not to amend them, not to modify them, not to ignore them. His job is to implement them, execute them.  That is why he heads up the Executive Branch.

Congress passes legislation and he's the one that implements it, he's the one that puts it into practice. He has no authority, no liberty, no moral right or constitutional right or legal right or ethical right to change the laws that are given to him by Congress ... I mean, ladies and gentlemen, I don't want you to miss the significance of this; we have a president that is breaking the law in order to aid and abet terrorists

The only problem is that Fischer's entire case is built on nothing but his own ignorance because, as we pointed out before, the legislation explicitly gives the president the power to waive certain prohibitions:

The President may waive the prohibitions contained in this section with respect to a specific transaction if (1) the President determines that the transaction is essential to the national security interests of the United States; and (2) not less than 15 days prior to the proposed transaction, the President

—(A) consults with the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate; and (B) submits to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate a report containing

—(i) the name of any country involved in the proposed transaction, the identity of any recipient of the items to be provided pursuant to the proposed transaction, and the anticipated use of those items; (ii) a description of the munitions items involved in the proposed transaction (including their market value) and the actual sale price at each step in the transaction (or if the items are transferred by other than sale, the manner in which they will be provided); (iii) the reasons why the proposed transaction is essential to the national security interests of the United States and the justification for such proposed transaction; (iv) the date on which the proposed transaction is expected to occur; and (v) the name of every United States Government department, agency, or other entity involved in the proposed transaction, every foreign government involved in the proposed transaction, and every private party with significant participation in the proposed transaction.

Contrary to Fischer's bold and repeated assertions that President Obama has "no authority to waive this law," he most certainly does as the law itself gives him that authority.

It never fails to amaze us just how willing right-wing commentators like Fischer are to publicly rant and rave in this manner about topics that they literally do not understand.

Lively: Obama Is The Antichrist, Working With Satanic Gays To Bring About The Apocalypse

Scott Lively, the pastor behind anti-gay laws from Uganda to Russia, appeared on TruNews yesterday to reveal to host Rick Wiles the identity of the Antichrist: President Obama. While he refused to mention Obama by name, he said that the Antichrist is the person “heading the largest superpower of the world today.” Lively explained that the Antichrist (read: Obama) will cancel all of the world’s debts in 2015, end the Mideast conflict with a peace treaty between the Israelis and Palestinians and introduce a one-world economic system and secular humanist religion.

Lively: Regional war breaks out and at the same time, because of that, the global economy collapses, crashes. That begins the serious pain for the entire world that the globalists actually want to prepare them for the global, one-world system. They already have the economic system to bring in; just nobody is ready to accept it. So at the right time, after there’s been enough pain, what happens is the Antichrist—I won’t name any names here but he is heading the largest superpower of the world today—steps in at the right time and does three things. He declares a global jubilee in which all the debts of the world are eliminated, this is after there’s been massive numbers of people who have died—

Wiles: Scott, I told people, I told our audience years ago, I’m going to say 2008, I said on this program this global financial crisis will be so bad that at some point in the future a world leader will say the only solution is biblical, we will have to cancel all the debts and we are going to have a global jubilee.

Lively: Amen. And we just happen to have one coming up, September 23, 2015.

Wiles: And the politician who does it is going to be hailed as the greatest man on the planet.

Lively: The hero of the world, right? This is the guy that also is going to be able to do what no one else in the history of the Middle East conflict could do. He’s going to have brought a peace treaty between the Palestinians and the Israelis; the Palestinians get their two-state solution and the Israelis get the permission to build on the Temple Mount. And who is the hero? It’s the guy that I’m not going to mention his name.

Wiles: And a lot of Christians when they see the Temple going up are going to hyperventilate, thinking this is a great thing and they have no idea that Antichrist is coming.

Lively: Only because it’s a symbol of what’s coming. Here’s the one other part that’s been missing, you’ve alluded to it and we’re very close on this that at the same time he introduces the new global system but here’s the other missing component. What’s the religion of the Antichrist? The religion of the Antichrist is secular humanism.

As Lively explained, the imminent apocalypse is the result of homosexuality, which he said is “at the heart of the Antichrist kingdom” (along with Islam). He repeated his claim that homosexuality caused Noah’s Flood and the destruction of Sodom, arguing that gay rights is the issue that “portends the End Times” and is backed by the Devil.

What is the issue that God is using to divide the sheep and the goats right now? It’s not whether Jesus Christ is Lord. It’s where do you stand on homosexuality? You know why? He gave us the warnings about that. From Genesis to Revelation, he has given us the advance notice that this issue portends the End Times and that when you see these things happen you’ll know that is the context that you are in. That’s the issue that is dividing the church right down the middle, of all the issue that God could’ve chosen. And the people who are going to the world’s side and the Devil’s side on that question are completely blind to its importance as a biblical topic; they think it is unimportant, that God doesn’t care about that when He gave us the only sin associated with the destruction of cities with fire and brimstone, the only sin associated with a reprobate mind in Romans 1, the thing that the rabbis said was the last straw before God brought the Flood, the issue that seems to be the heart of the Antichrist kingdom in Revelation 11 when it says that the two witnesses are struck down in the city that is mystically called Sodom and Egypt: homosexuality and Islam.

Lively argued that only Vladimir Putin is the world’s last hope, and called for other nations to follow in his footsteps in implementing stringently anti-gay laws.

We don’t want to gloss over the problems that we have with Mr. Putin but by the same token he’s the only world leader capable of standing up to the West and he is championing the traditional marriage and Christian values regarding the central moral issue of our time that no one else has the capability to do what he’s doing. Really there’s a chance here for him to inspire all the morally conservative countries of the law to adopt a similar law that he just adopted, his country just adopted and really have a chance maybe to roll some of this terrible agenda back.

Understanding Glenn Beck's Nonsensical Call For Impeachment

As we noted yesterday, Glenn Beck is now demanding President Obama's impeachment because, Beck claims, Obama has waived prohibitions contained in the Arms Export Control Act so that he can supposedly supply weapons to al Qaeda in Syria.

It is nonsense, of course, since what is really happening is that the US is simply providing "non-lethal" equipment to "experts monitoring the removal and destruction of chemical weapons under an agreement reached by the United States and Russia," as the White House explained yesterday:

Today, the President signed a Presidential Determination exercising his authority to waive certain restrictions under the Arms Export Control Act.  This action will allow the U.S. Government to provide or license, where appropriate, certain non-lethal assistance inside or related to Syria.  This includes:  1) chemical weapons-related personal protective equipment to international organizations, including the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, for the conduct of their operations; 2) chemical weapons-related life-saving assistance for organizations implementing Department of State or U.S. Agency for International Development programs to strengthen local Syrian health care providers’ ability to prepare for and respond to any use of chemical weapons; and 3) defensive chemical weapons-related training and personal protective equipment to select vetted members of the Syrian opposition, including the Supreme Military Council, to protect against the use of chemical weapons.  This action is part of longstanding and ongoing efforts to provide life-saving chemical weapons-related assistance to people in need in Syria.

But Beck doesn't care that his entire premise is wrong or that he doesn't even understand the applicable law, as he spent a good portion of last night's programming accusing Obama of treason because he "goes around Congress and goes around the laws by waiving a federal regarding let's not arm any known terrorists":

Beck has a staff of hundreds, but apparently nobody has access to Google because, if they did, they could look up the law for themselves and discover that Section 40(g) gives the President the power to waive certain prohibitions provided that he keeps Congress informed:

President Obama is not going around Congress or ignoring the law; he is, in fact, doing exactly the opposite.

And for doing exactly what the law allows and requires, Glenn Beck is demanding Obama's impeachment.

The Scandal Cuccinelli Can't Dodge: His Extremist Positions

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli wants to be the state's next Governor. But he has been dogged by an ethics scandal involving gifts he received from the head of a company that has sued the state. So last week, Cuccinelli tried to put the issue to rest by saying he'd contribute $18,000-the value of his questionable gifts-to a medical charity, saying, "I'm trying to wipe the slate clean here so we can focus on what's gonna matter in people's lives in Virginia in the next four years."

Of course, Cuccinelli's contribution doesn't magically wipe away questions about his character. And there's plenty of other evidence for Virginians to consider about the character of his record, and what four years of Cuccinelli as governor could do for -- or rather to -- the state.

Cuccinelli says his campaign is focused on jobs and the economy, but his extreme record as a state legislator and attorney general makes it clear that he considers himself commander-in-chief of the Religious Right's culture warriors.

He has bullied members of the Board of Health into adopting his anti-choice extremism. He has smeared and tried to defund Planned Parenthood. He even slams comprehensive sex education programs. As the Washington Post noted this week, he "was instrumental in ensuring that new regulations will result in the closure of many of the state's abortion clinics."

As a state senator, Cuccinelli was one of a handful of sponsors of an unconstitutional "personhood" bill that would have criminalized many common forms of contraception. Cuccinelli hasn't disavowed his support for "personhood" bills or their goal of making abortion illegal. But as a candidate for governor, he is trying to distance himself from the effects such legislation would have on women and families in Virginia. He claims that such legislation, which would grant legal rights to an egg at the moment it is fertilized by a sperm, wouldn't interfere with access to birth control. He is not telling the truth.

Here's another reminder of what kind of governor Cuccinelli would be: one of his first steps as Attorney General was to tell Virginia's public colleges and universities that they had to abandon policies against anti-gay discrimination. He reversed a legal opinion by his predecessor in order to prevent same-sex couples from adopting children. He refused to support repeal of the state's unconstitutional anti-sodomy law. He argues that consensual sex between gay adults is a detriment to society and should be illegal. As a state senator, he even opposed legislation that permitted private companies to voluntarily extend health benefits to employees' domestic partners.

Cuccinelli is also a champion of the Tea Party's anti-government extremism. He calls President Obama a tyrant. He filed suit against the Affordable Care Act five minutes after it was signed into law, a self-aggrandizing publicity stunt. He has falsely told people that under the law the government could send people to jail for not buying insurance. He even slams safety net programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for making people dependent on government.

There is seemingly no right-wing fringe to which Cuccinelli will not pander. He has used the power of his office to harass scientists in a climate-change-denying witch-hunt. He has called for a constitutional convention to rescind 14th amendment birthright citizenship. He said he was considering not getting his infant son a social security number because it was being used to track people. He flirted with birtherism.

And this week, he celebrated Constitution Day by appearing with right-wing radio host Mark Levin. Levin is an anti-union, anti-environmental-regulation, anti-public-education activist who rails against "establishment" Republicans and calls President Obama a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer. In 2007, Levin's Landmark Legal Foundation nominated Rush Limbaugh for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Cuccinelli is an example of the strong political coalition that has been made between right-wing Catholics like himself and conservative evangelicals, including Virginia-based powerhouses like Falwell-founded Liberty University and Pat Robertson's broadcasting empire. Cuccinelli has criticized people, like President Obama, who support marriage equality for thinking they "know better than God." And he says homosexual behavior is "intrinsically wrong" and destroys people's souls and shouldn't be allowed in a "natural law based country."

Cuccinelli has clearly aligned himself with the far right within the Catholic Church and, like Paul Ryan, opposes the Church's advocacy on behalf of anti-poverty programs. He hasslammed the Catholic bishops for advocating for government assistance for the poor, saying that has "created a culture of dependency on government, not God." He complained that the archdiocese of Arlington, Virginia included issues like poverty, hunger, and health care on a voting guide without making clear that they, in Cuccinelli's opinion, are clearly less important than abortion.

Cuccinelli has convinced the Religious Right that he's their guy. That's why Rick Santorum has endorsed him and the Family Research Council's PAC is helping him raise money.

But if Ken Cuccinelli wants to convince Virginia voters that he's not going to govern as a right-wing culture warrior, he'll have to do more than trying to "wipe the slate clean" on his ethical standards. He'll have to erase from the public record his own extreme record. And that will be a lot harder than writing a check.

Ken Cuccinelli Calls In The Religious Right Reinforcements

While Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli has been trying to dodge social issues such as abortion rights and marriage equality — likely because his actual views and record are far out of the mainstream — sagging poll numbers and increasing divisions among Republicans have led the candidate to rely on his traditional far-right backers. After campaigning alongside his ultraconservative and homophobic running mate E.W. Jackson, Cuccinelli tonight will attend a fundraiser cosponsored by the Family Research Council’s political arm and the head of a major anti-choice organization.

Tonight’s fundraiser featuring Jeb Bush and a whole host of former GOP politicians-turned-lobbyists is sponsored by FRC Action PAC and Marjorie Dannenfelser, who leads the Susan B. Anthony List.

Cuccinelli has partnered with FRC in the past, addressing at their Values Voter Summit and appearing on the group’s Washington Watch radio program. Dannenfelser’s group, meanwhile, committed at least $1.5 million to boost Cuccinelli.

Dannenfelser and FRC Action hope that Cuccinelli will continue his efforts to close the majority of the state’s abortion clinics. As the Washington Post editorial board noted yesterday, “If Mr. Cuccinelli is elected governor in November, most of the remaining 18 clinics are likely to shut their doors within months.”

The FRC — whose leaders have referred to gays as pawns of Satan, abnormal and destructive while also calling for their criminalization and exportation — can also take pride in Cuccinelli’s anti-gay rhetoric and activism.

The upcoming fundraiser with two of the country’s foremost social conservative groups shows that as much as Cuccinelli would like Virginia voters to forget about his extreme stances, he is, first and foremost, a Religious Right ideologue.

Fox News Regular Erik Rush Calls Navy Yard Attack A False Flag

Fox News hosts like Sean Hannity and Mike Huckabee seem to have no problem with hosting conservative columnist and author Erik Rush, who has urged the US to kill all Muslims and accused President Obama of being a serial killer. Rush reacted to the Navy Yard shooting yesterday by tweeting that the rampage was “part political diversion, part gun-grabbing theater. NOT random. NOT a lone psycho.”

“If you think the #dcnavyyardshooting is random or just an irate doofus, you’re kidding yourself,” Rush also tweeted.

Harvey: LGBT-Inclusive Education Sign Of 'A Self-Destructive Society'

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality joined Mission America’s Linda Harvey over the weekend to discuss how groups like GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network) are attempting to use schools to make kids gay and transgender, which they suggested would increase the rate of HIV.

Responding to GLSEN’s Transgender Students Rights initiative, Harvey asked: “Why in the world are we doing this to kids? You know, a self-destructive society would do these kinds of things, wouldn’t they? And look at us.”

“Yes. A healthy society discriminates against perverse and dangerous and unhealthy behaviors such as homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism,” LaBarbera said. “That’s what a healthy society does.”

Stakelbeck: Gays And Liberals Work With Radical Islamists Because They Hate America, Jesus

Erick Stakelbeck, the former sports reporter who fashions himself to be an expert on terrorism, regularly argues that progressives and Islamic extremists are working together to establish some sort of communist, Islamic state. While appearing on It’s Supernatural!, host Sid Roth said he couldn’t understand his assertion since the “political left is not going to be aligned with someone who wants to kill homosexuals.”

But as the Christian Broadcasting Network reporter explained, even though “the left would be the first ones with their heads on the chopping block if Islamic Sharia law came into power,” both liberals and radical Islamists “hate traditional America” and “hate the name of Yeshua (Jesus) so much that they will work together, at least in the short term, to chip away at traditional America and traditional western civilization.”

An Exercise In Projection: Horowitz Says Liberals See Conservatives As 'The Party Of Satan'

We are quite used to hearing right-wing activists assert that just about every aspect of the liberal political and cultural agenda is literally Satanic in nature ... so it was a little confusing to hear David Horowitz tells the hosts over at American Family Radio yesterday that liberals think that conservatives are the party of Satan.

Horowitz declared that progressives believe that they can create the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, which means that not only are they willing to commit any crime and tell any lie, they also look at those who oppose them "as the Devil's party."

"People who are called liberals," Horowitz stated, "people who call themselves progressives, or leftists, or socialists see themselves as an Army of the Saints redeeming the world. They don't believe in a divine redemption; they believe in a redemption on this earth created by them.  Therefore they see anybody who doubts or opposes their program as the party of Satan":

CWA: Environmental Protection 'The Most Dangerous Agenda On Earth'

Concerned Women for America’s Joseph Rossell warns in a blog post last week that environmental protection efforts represent “an incredibly evil set of values,” if not “the most dangerous agenda on earth.”

Quoting Margaret Sanger and Paul Ehrlich’s warnings about overpopulation, Rossell writes that environmentalists back a “vile” and “highly dangerous ideology” that “may very well be the most anti-human, anti-life agenda on the planet.”

What do you think of when you hear the term “environmentalism”? For most people, the word probably brings to mind images of harmless hippies out to curb pollution and encourage recycling.

But the reality is much more sinister. What most people don’t realize is that environmentalism may very well be the most anti-human, anti-life agenda on the planet. Humans are seen as a blight on the world, population levels are considered far too high, and it is believed necessary to dramatically reduce the number of people globally through brutal methods (including sterilization and abortion).

Environmentalism is not benign; it is a highly dangerous ideology. The individuals quoted above are far from obscure within the movement; they are rather mainstream environmentalists. Their vile beliefs are not simply being repeated in ivory towers, but are increasingly infiltrating public policy through a burgeoning regulatory system. These views are also gaining ground in American school systems, thanks in part to initiatives like Common Core, which promotes texts involving these themes.

Christ warns His followers, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves” (Matthew 7:15). Environmentalism is similarly deceptive, requiring us to employ spiritual discernment. Although it may seem outwardly attractive, underneath environmentalism’s glistening veneer of social justice is actually an incredibly evil set of values.

In 2010, Wendy Wright, then the president of CWA, was featured alongside other Religious Right figures in a “documentary” about how environmental movement is a “Green Dragon” based on myths and falsehoods.

Beck: 'We Have Come Unhinged'

Glenn Beck began his television program last night with coverage of yesterday's mass shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC, citing it along with the record flooding happening in Colorado as evidence that we are living in the End Times.

"It seems like a lot of things that are going on in today's world," Beck said, "can't really be explained any other way. We have come unhinged."

But perhaps it is simply Beck who has become unhinged, as later in the program he did a segment asking why various federal agencies, such as the IRS and the EPA, have armed officers using assault weapons, suggesting not-quite-rhetorically that they were going to be used to kill American citizens:
