Ken Blackwell: SCOTUS Gay Marriage Decision 'Just As Pivotal' As 9/11, World War II And Civil War

Yesterday, Family Research Council official Ken Blackwell explained during an anti-marriage-equality panel how anti-gay activists, just like Civil Rights Movement leaders, will resist a Supreme Court decision striking down bans on same-sex marriage, a ruling he warned will give rise to totalitarianism.

Blackwell said that how Americans respond to “a wrong decision in this marriage case” will be just as important as the nation’s response to the Civil War, World War II and the September 11, 2001 attacks. Such a ruling would be “another one of those challenging moments, defining moments as to attest of how we response as a nation, but how we also respond as believers, as Christians,” he said.

Blackwell similarly told Tony Perkins, the head of the FRC, on yesterday’s edition of “Washington Watch” that gay marriage would be a historic wrong, saying that the public must “take a stand” against its legalization “because it is just as pivotal as the Civil War, World War II and our response to 9/11 as a human community.”

Alveda King: Gay Marriage Is Impossible!

During the Family Research Council’s panel on marriage equality yesterday, conservative activist Alveda King said that it is “impossible” for two people of the same sex to marry.

“It’s impossible to marry two men to each other or two women, it’s just not possible,” King said. “The two cannot become one. It is biologically impossible, scientifically impossible, emotionally impossible, definitely spiritually impossible. You can actually hold a gun, Heaven forbid, and say, ‘do this marriage,’ now he or she may say, ‘okay,’ or they may say, ‘I won’t,’ but even if they speak the words, it is not possible, it is impossible. We have to be able to articulate that on all the levels we just said: spiritual, physical, science.”

King also gave advice on what to say to gay family members, whom she said are experiencing great “confusion.”

King said that she told her children’s godfather, who is gay – a role she gave him before she “understood the Bible,” she said  that his “lifestyle is not going to work for you in eternity” and that he should remain celibate.

She also explained to a “lesbian who is living openly with a lady” that she only “thinks” she is married since she “really can’t be married.”

Promise Keepers Draws 'Battle Lines' And Demands 'No Compromise!'

Promise Keepers, a Christian “men’s ministry” founded by former Colorado football coach Bill McCartney, is celebrating its 25th year. The group’s current militarized language and imagery matches the increasingly violent rhetoric of resistance and revolution from the far right. It may also reflect the background of current PK President Dr. Raleigh Washington, described as a “20-year U.S. Army veteran.”

The group, which filled stadiums and attracted criticism for its patriarchal message in its 1990s heyday, has a smaller profile today. This year it is holding several gatherings, starting with one in Stockton, California, back in May, with other events following in Dallas in August; Pittsburgh in September (rescheduled from June); Rochester, Minnesota, in October; and Redmond, Washington, in November.

The Promise Keepers website promotes the events with a headline: “BATTLE LINES: No Compromise!”

Today’s culture nurtures a popular misconception that tolerance is the only reasonable worldview. Unfortunately, this spirit of compromise on key moral and biblical issues has permeated both our culture and the church. Divorce and co-habitation rates continue to rise. Same-sex marriage is now accepted and abortion is still legal in our nation. Scripture is quite clear how we are to respond whenever the foundations of the Christian faith are under attack: our duty is to contend for the faith, without compromise.

In 1 John 1:5 John wrote, “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” This is a very definitive statement. God is light. There are no shades of grey with God. He is Light and in Him, there is no darkness. What is light? It’s truth, and there is no compromising God’s Truth. There is no middle ground.

Considering the current times, as Promise Keepers, we must boldly and courageously stand for truth. We must defend biblical marriage, champion the life of the unborn and protect religious liberty. We cannot stand back and allow moral relativism, cultural decadence, spiritual apathy and ecclesiastical indifference to hinder us any longer. We must draw our battle lines without compromise.

The website declares, “Everything that Promise Keepers does centers on this central truth – obedience to the Word of God.” The website also encourages people to join the “One Message” movement, a project of Promise Keepers that is working to bring about the “greatest revival the world has ever known” – in fact, they say, it’s already under way:

The greatest revival the world has ever known – a revival prophesied by the Apostle Paul and affirmed by men like Jonathan Edwards and C. H. Spurgeon – has begun. And each of us has the amazing privilege of being a part of it.

This revival began 65 years ago, when the State of Israel – a nation that ceased to exist 2,000 years earlier – was reborn in a day. Since then, the Jewish people have been turning by thousands to recognize Yeshua (Jesus’ Hebrew name) as their long-awaited Messiah.

FRC Panel: Gay Marriage Harms Children And Will 'Lead To Disaster'

During a Family Research Council panel discussion yesterday that tried to portray the anti-LGBT Religious Right as the new Civil Rights Movement, conservative activists Deacon Keith Fournier and Alveda King insisted that everyone knows that homosexuality is inherently wrong and therefore same-sex marriage will never work.

After Fournier warned that gay marriage is ushering in anti-Christian discrimination and countless harms to society, Penny Starr of CNS News, a right-wing outlet, asked the panelists how people should speak to their children about seeing gay couples holding hands “out in the public.”

King responded that “little children are often confused” because they know in their hearts that homosexuality isn’t right, but schools are pushing LGBT-inclusive curricula in schools: “It is not healthy and there are many studies, there are probably more studies saying that prove that it is not healthy for the children than there are that say it is okay, but the media will promote the ones that say it is okay but won’t let you see the ones that tell the truth. I personally could really testify about children being harmed and very confused.”

“You can say it until you are blue in the face that this is all going to be great, we’re all going to be free and liberated,” Fournier insisted. “We’re not. It’s going to lead to disaster, ultimately.”

Fournier also predicted that Christians in America will soon, just like the early Christians who lived during the Roman Empire, face persecution and be treated as “enemies of the state.”

Family Research Council: Anti-LGBT Conservatives Are The New Civil Rights Leaders

Yesterday, the Family Research Council hosted a panel discussion titled “Marriage and Civil Rights: How to Respond Rightly If the Court Gets It Wrong,” which sought to portray anti-LGBT conservatives as the heirs of the Civil Rights Movement.

Ken Blackwell, an FRC official who previously served as the secretary of state of Ohio, where he notoriously curbed voting access in the 2004 presidential election, said that anti-LGBT activists should take lessons in “direct action of resistance” from “the great Civil Rights Movement” and opponents of abortion rights.

He suggested that LGBT rights victories must be resisted since they are paving the way for a totalitarian form of government: “We are now at one of those pivotal moments in our nation’s history because any survey of human history will let you know that every totalitarian regime throughout human history, every authoritarian regime, every big welfare state regime, from the Bolsheviks to the Chinese to an administration that is growing the state right here in America, there are two things that they do. They destroy or weaken the family because the family, within our experience, is the incubator of liberty. Two, they silence the church and those in the pews of the church.”

Richard Land: 'Lucifer' TV Show Proves Fox Is 'Being Influenced By Satanic Forces'

Religious Right activists and organizations are up in arms over a new Fox television program called "Lucifer" which, as its name would suggest, is about the Devil, who in this case happens to be running a night club in Los Angeles.

Southern Evangelical Seminary president Richard Land, a former leader of the Southern Baptist Convention's political arm, appeared on the "Newsmax Prime" program yesterday to voice his concerns about the program, the mere existence of which, he said, proves the extent to which Fox is "being influenced by satanic forces."

Calling the program "obscene" and "blasphemous," Land warned that "we live in a world that is racked with spiritual warfare, incessant spiritual warfare between good and evil and the Devil is the one that is fomenting evil. He's the source of evil in the world and he not only likes to take part in evil, but he delights in those who take part in evil with him and he enjoys and cackles with glee at all the pain and suffering he causes."

"He hates us and he hates God," Land continued, "and to portray him as some kind of romantic figure is not only tragic, it's wicked, and it just proves the truth of the Bible. The Bible says the he's the god of this age and the prince of the power of the air, which means that the Devil has some input into all worldly philosophy and all worldly activity. And Fox Entertainment is just showing the extent to which it's being influenced by satanic forces."

Scott Lively: 'Obama Orchestrated The Ukraine Coup' To Undermine Putin's Anti-Gay Efforts

Virulently anti-gay activist Scott Lively has long been a vocal supporter of Vladimir Putin's crackdown on gay rights, declaring that passage of Russia's anti-gay legislation was "one of the proudest achievements of my career" and even promising to run for Congress on a platform rooted in defending and supporting Russia's anti-gay crackdown.

So we were not surprised to see that Lively is out with a new piece claiming that President Obama "orchestrated the Ukraine coup" in an effort to undermine Putin's stand against the "international LGBT political steamroller," even at the risk of starting a nuclear war:

I have come to believe that Obama orchestrated the Ukraine coup to re-start the cold war to prevent Russia from leading a global revolt against his most sacred cow, the LGBT agenda. While there were clearly important geo-political factors in Obama’s decision to initiate regime change in Ukraine, I am convinced that the primary impetus was to nip opposition to the international LGBT political steamroller in the bud ... Unfortunately, Obama’s strategy has worked and Russia has been forced from its former trajectory toward global cooperation with the west into an increasingly adversarial posture as Obama and the GOP Establishment Neo-Cons (united by perversion) continue to portray Russia as a pariah state while simultaneously attempting “regime change“ within its borders.

I believe a consequence of the “punish Russia” strategy is (dangerously for Israel) the transformation of Iran into the key player of the Middle East and the US has been forced to become a suitor (e.g. the sweetheart nuke deal) to our “former” arch-enemy in an attempt to thwart the strengthening of Russian/Iranian relations as Russia turns eastward away from the cold shoulder of the west. And, of course, (dangerously for us) Russian/Chinese relations have warmed considerably for the same reason.

I place the blame for this disturbing transformation squarely at the feet of Obama, whose allegiance to the LGBT agenda supersedes all other concerns, even the very real and growing risk of nuclear war.

I still believe that Russia offers an albeit imperfect model for the west on standing up to the Cultural Marxists but with the US push toward revival of the cold war, the incessant anti-Russian propaganda in the western media, and Russia’s increasing political shift to the east, I hold less hope for an international Russian-led cultural revolution in family values.

Ironically, however, if any hope remains, it may be kept alive by Ukraine, itself. As an astute political observer of my acquaintance recently noted, Kiev thought the West offered them bread but instead gave them LGBT propaganda. Now Ukrainians are protesting in the streets against the “gay” agenda.

Obama might yet fail in poisoning the western world against Russia, as he has failed in so many areas of foreign policy. I for one would like to see a restoration of the cooperative trends we saw in US/Russian relations before Obama decided to sabotage them, and in the aftermath of that failure I think unity on family values would go a long way toward healing the rift he has exacerbated between Russia and Ukraine and toward weakening the US/EU perversion agenda in the rest of Eastern Europe and the Baltics.

Ann Coulter Credits White Nationalist Writer For Her Anti-Immigrant Politics

Ann Coulter has been making the rounds of conservative media over the past couple of weeks promoting her new book, “Adios America! The Left’s Plan To Turn Our Country Into A Third World Hellhole,” which is about as subtle an anti-immigrant polemic as it sounds.

As the Southern Poverty Law Center pointed out when Coulter’s book came out, Coulter remains a reliable presence in right-wing media and politics, despite the fact that her comments on race in America are pretty much indistinguishable from those of the white nationalist leaders who have largely been ostracized from the conservative mainstream.

This is not just a coincidence. In fact, Coulter revealed this weekend in an interview with Chronicles, a magazine published by the conservative Rockford Institute, that she was inspired to become involved in the anti-immigrant movement after reading a 1992 National Review article by Peter Brimelow, who is now the editor of the white nationalist website VDARE.

Although Brimelow’s ideas continue to fuel anti-immigrant politics, his explicit promotion of white nationalist concepts has put him in an uneasy place in the conservative movement. In 2012, he was given a slot on a Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) panel on “the failure of multiculturalism” alongside Rep. Steve King. But the next year, he reported that the conservative conspiracy theory clearinghouse WorldNetDaily had rejected one of his columns as “too extreme.” Earlier this year, Brimelow spoke at the white nationalist American Renaissance conference, where he recommended the new slogan “whites have rights.”

In the article that inspired Coulter, Brimelow (himself an immigrant from England) lamented high levels of non-white immigration, writing, “Just as when you leave Park Avenue and descend into the subway, on entering the INS waiting rooms you find yourself in an underworld that is almost entirely colored.” He went on to warn National Review readers of the impending non-white majority in the United States:

Above all, the American ethnic mix has been upset. In 1960, the U.S. population was 88.6 per cent white; in 1990, it was only 75.6 per cent white—a drop of 13 percentage points in thirty years. (Indeed, the proportion of “European-Americans” is probably a couple of percentage points lower than that, because the Census Bureau counts all Middle Easterners as “white.”) The demographer Leon Bouvier has projected that by 2020—that is, easily within the lifetimes of many NATIONAL REVIEW readers—the proportion of whites could fall as low as 61 per cent. Among children under 15, minorities could be approaching the point of becoming the majority.

Coulter told Chronicles’ Tom Patiak that she has continued to discuss her work on immigration with Brimelow, who followed his National Review article with the bestselling anti-immigrant book “Alien Nation”:

TP: How did you first become interested in immigration?

A: Peter Brimelow’s front page article in National Review. [But] then I never wrote about it. I was practicing law then, and you know you live in a bubble in college and law school. I suppose I believed all the Jack Kemp nonsense. I read that cover story in National Review and realized I’d been had. I’ve been lied to. Oh my gosh! It was the only time I remember completely changing my mind about something. Of course there wasn’t that much to change because immigration wasn’t something I had ever thought about. I was like a lot of Americans to this day, you just go along: We’re a nation of immigrants, immigration is a wonderful thing, aren’t they hard workers, blah, blah, blah. And since I became a writer, Peter has been haranguing me, demanding to know why I haven’t written about immigration. I kept telling him, because you said it all. I’ve nothing new to say. So I am pleased that with this book—you have to get to chapter 7 and you start hitting things that, I think, surprised even Peter. He wanted me to start the book at chapter 7: Just skip everything before, everybody knows that first stuff, Ann. But I had to stay: If only everybody did know that stuff.

Earlier in the interview, when Patiak asked her to list her “intellectual influences” on immigration, she responded, “Well, obviously Peter Brimelow, who is the one who started it all, God bless him.”

Brimelow’s VDARE has excitedly promoted Coulter’s Chronicles interview, perhaps because its writers don’t always get credit when their ideas get absorbed into the conservative mainstream. For instance, VDARE has been seeking credit from the GOP for the increasing popularity of an idea put forward by its contributor Steve Sailer, who was the first to outline in detail a supposed path to victory for Republicans that relies solely on white voters. Ann Coulter, incidentally, has credited Sailer for the “Sailer strategy” and continues to heartily endorse it. Last year, Coulter cited Sailer's work in a speech from the mainstage at CPAC.

Conservative Talk Show Host Wants To Recruit LeBron James Into The Religious Right

The Family Research Council’s Craig James, a former professional football player and sports broadcaster, has a new strategy to win the Black Church to the Republican Party: recruit LeBron James to be a Religious Right spokesman.

James spoke last week with conservative Virginia activist E.W. Jackson on the FRC’s “Washington Watch” program last week, where the two called on Black Church leaders to oppose Democratic candidates and instead back Republican politicians. James hailed Jackson, the 2013 GOP nominee for lieutenant governor, who lost by over 10 points, as a “phenomenal candidate” (he wasn’t), and wondered how black pastors can start building relationships with the GOP.

One way black voters will realize that Republicans will help them, James said, is if “role models coming from the sports community” tout their conservative effort: “There’s so much focus on these superstars within our communities and a guy like LeBron James. I like the NBA, I’m a huge fan of LeBron’s, I don’t know him personally, I would be highly disappointed if I’m wrong in the image that he portrays, but someone like LeBron James at some point has to step up in a political manner and say what you’re saying, stand toe-to-toe with you, Bishop E.W. Jackson, in these communities to get the attention and the trust of the folks for the vote.

Jackson, for his part, criticized black leaders for wearing “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” shirts (LeBron James wore an “I Can’t Breathe” shirt during warmups). The Virginia preacher has long demanded that black leaders abandon Democrats for allegedly supporting the agenda of the Antichrist.

LeBron James would be quite the recruit, especially considering that he hosted a giant rally for then-candidate Barack Obama in 2008.

Fischer: Obama's Racist War Against White Police Officers To Blame For McKinney Pool Party Incident

After spending a segment purportedly providing the "real story" behind the recent video showing a white Texas police officer slamming a young black girl to the ground and pulling his gun on others attending a pool party, Bryan Fischer explained on his radio program today that President Obama is really the one to blame for these sorts of violent confrontations because he "has been waging war" against white police officers from the moment he took office.

As Fischer sees it, Obama has "created this template where if its a white cop and it's a black citizen, the cop is a racist, the cop is an abuser, and you are a victim."

Such an environment, Fischer said, "shortens the fuse" of black people when it comes to interacting with white police officers, all because Obama "is encouraging people to form their opinion of somebody based not on the content of their character or the nature of their conduct, but the color of their skin."

"That's just racism," he said. "That's the only way that you can describe that."

Iowa Conservative Radio Host Backs The South In The Civil War

GOP presidential candidates are flocking to a conservative talk show hosted by Jan Mickelson, along with programs hosted by Steve Deace and Simon Conway, since these Iowa-based radio personalities hold sway over the upcoming February 1 caucuses.

On Friday, Mickelson spoke to two announced candidates, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who told him during the show that President Obama is “redistributing poverty” to states like Iowa, and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

When Graham tried to draw a parallel between the American Civil War and the current conflict in Iraq, Mickelson jumped in to defend the Confederacy: “I don’t consider the North amongst ourselves. You mentioned capturing territory, I’m considering [Fort] Sumter, Sumter was South Carolinian territory and you were invaded, pretty much like the Russians are invading the Ukraine.”

Graham pleaded: “I can’t go down that road. I’m all for the union.”

Mickelson is not alone, as Deace regularly hosts secessionist Michael Peroutka, who blamed the North’s victory on supposed societal ills such as gay marriage.

Barton: Gay Marriage Will Force Male And Female College Athletes To Share The Same Locker Room

David Barton appeared on Glenn Beck's radio program this morning where he warned that if the Supreme Court legalizes gay marriage, it will lead to the elimination of gender-specific locker rooms for all college athletes.

After claiming that the legalization of gay marriage will force churches to hire "a homosexual youth director" despite the fact that it conflicts with their religious beliefs, Barton went on to assert that it will also require male and female college athletes to share one locker room.

"Because sex also means gender identification," Barton said, "Title IX, which is what all the colleges use for sports, it goes out the door as well. So all your locker rooms now become one locker room, you can't distinguish between male and female."

"This destroys all of society," Beck added:

It should be pointed out that nothing like this has occurred in any of the 37 states that already have marriage equality.

Ann Coulter: Liberals Are 'Going Gay' So They Need Immigrants To Outbreed 'Christian America'

Ann Coulter spoke to The Blaze, Glenn Beck’s network, last week about the “demographic war” between conservatives and liberals, who she says need the support of immigrants to take power since they are “aborting and going gay.”

“All of these left-wing loons who used to be fighting with revolutionaries in the jungles of Peru, now they’re here at home trying to bring the jungles here,” Coulter said. “And they work for these left-wing, anti-American, pro-Third-World immigration groups, and then they become immigration judges.”

Coulter added that the government should deal with undocumented immigrants by “rounding them up”: “When I look at the costs of court translators alone, rounding them up is a bargain. And when you realize that there are not 11 million illegal aliens here, as we have been insistently and angrily told for at least a decade now, there are at least, at a bare minimum, 30 million illegal aliens here.”

She expressed hope that “Christian America” will have more children to stop liberals from taking over the country with the votes of immigrants.

“Christian America, religious America I should say — the same thing is true of Orthodox Jews and conservative Jews, although that is a very small percentage of the population — religious America is reproducing well above replacement rate, it’s liberals who are aborting and going gay and anyone with a flair for color, so I think we will have a leg-up in the demographic war,” Coulter said. “That’s what the left was facing, that they weren’t reproducing enough so they had to bring in the ringers from the Third World to vote for them.”

Fox Host Continues Crusade Against Seinfeld's 'Festivus'

In an interview last week on the American Family Radio program “AFA Today,” Fox News host Gretchen Carlson repeated her strong stance against Festivus, a fake holiday featured on “Seinfeld,” by arguing that the “sacrilegious” holiday “denigrates Christianity.”

Carlson told host Kevin McCullough that a Festivus pole display in the Washington state capitol next to a Christmas tree was “outrageous,” adding: “I don’t want to have to drive around, eventually, years gone by with my kids looking at all the Nativity scenes during Christmas time and say, ‘Oh look kids, there’s the baby Jesus, way behind the Festivus pole, you can barely see him.’”

Carlson previously explained that she does not want to see a Festivus pole because “I’m all for free speech and free rights, just not on December 25th.”

Anti-Immigrant Activist Warns Muslim Refugees Are Part Of Liberal Plot

Anti-Muslim activist Frank Gaffney invited Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies, a group that advocates for increased restrictions on immigration, on to his “Secure Freedom Radio” program yesterday, where predictably the two got to talking about efforts to settle some refugees from Muslim countries such as Iraq and Syria, which have both experienced refugee crises, in the United States.

Gaffney told Krikorian that conservative writer James Simpson has written a new e-book for Gaffney’s Center for Security Policy about “what he calls the ‘red-green’ axis and the impact that it is having, sort of the hard-left and the Islamists, in erasing America.”

“Does this sound right to you that there is this kind of dynamic at work between the hard-left and the Islamists?” he asked.

Krikorian agreed, bringing up a column written by a speechwriter for former British Prime Minister Tony Blair who said that Labour leaders hoped expanded immigration would “rub the Right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date.” (The writer, in response to right-wing glee, later clarified that this wasn’t a “plot” to impose multiculturalism on an unwilling Britain.)

“I think the dynamic here is the kind of thing we heard about in the Blair government in England,” Krikorian said, “when one of his people, one of his advisors, basically said, look, we pushed immigration as a way to unwillingly force diversity on the British people, to change the nation. And I think a lot of these refugee activists types and immigration activists see immigration in the same way and see Islamic immigration as the most different and non-American way of promoting immigration and therefore serving their purposes the most, even more than, say, the immigration of people from, say, Latin America or Christians from the Middle East, that sort of thing.”

Franklin Graham: 'The End Is Coming' Thanks To Gays, Obama

Yesterday on the Family Research Council’s “Washington Watch” program, Franklin Graham urged listeners to follow him in boycotting businesses he sees as too LGBT-friendly. He told guest-host Craig James, an FRC official, that the U.S. has “turned our back as a nation on God” and no longer “listens to the religious leaders of this country.”

Graham urged people to “love” their gay and lesbian neighbors “enough to warn them” that they will “spend eternity in Hell” since “God has no hope but to judge them” if they are “practicing the gay and lesbian lifestyle.” This led him to rail against churches that accept LGBT Christians, a decision which he warns will ultimately destroy the church.

“If a person says, ‘but I’m gay,’ okay fine, you don’t practice it, you have to stay away,” Graham said. “What’s happening is we are seeing in churches, where churches are accepting gay and lesbian couples who are living in sin, living the gay lifestyle, not repenting and the church is letting them in. This is so dangerous and it is going to destroy our church in this country if this continues.”

He predicted that God’s judgment “is coming soon” and “the end is coming.”

“I believe we are in the midnight hour as far as God’s clock is concerned or we may be in the last minutes, but of those last minutes it may be another hundred years, I don’t know, but when you see how quickly our country is deteriorating, how quickly the world is deteriorating morally, especially under this administration, we have seen that it has just taken a nosedive off of the moral diving board into the cesspool of humanity,” he said.

Bob Vander Plaats: How Will Lindsey Graham Fight Radical Islam If He Won't Fight LGBT Rights?

Last week, after Caitlyn Jenner introduced herself on the cover of Vanity Fair, prominent Iowa talk radio host Steve Deace told Republican candidates that if they wouldn’t speak out against Jenner’s transition, “you might as well just forfeit the 2016 election now.” When CNN’s Dana Bash asked Sen. Lindsey Graham about Deace’s comments in an interview over the weekend, he responded that while he’s “a pro-life, traditional marriage kind of guy,” Jenner is “welcome in my party.”

He then addressed Deace directly: “Here's what I would say to the talk show host: In the eyes of radical Islam, they hate you as much as they hate Caitlyn Jenner. They hate us all because we won’t agree to their view of religion. So, America, we’re all in this together.”

All of this, unsurprisingly, did not go over very well with Deace, who addressed Graham’s comments yesterday during his weekly discussion of presidential candidates with Iowa social conservative activist Bob Vander Plaats, saying, “If you’re not going to defend the idea of male and female, you’re not going to defend any of those other things that you just claimed to be for, Sen. Graham.”

Vander Plaats, an influential force in Iowa Republican politics, agreed, saying that if Graham wouldn’t speak out against people like Caitlyn Jenner, he could never fight radical Islam.

“The thing of it is, you can go out and you can have empathy and compassion for Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner,” he said. “However, you have to be able to stand up and say, but God still created us male and female. That’s the basic point here.”

“That’s our issue with Lindsey Graham,” he added, “is that you can say you’re pro-life, you can say you’re for God’s design for the family in marriage, you can say that he created them male and female, but when you never take a stand on those issues, it’s awfully hard for us to trust, then, that you’re going to take a stand against radical Islam or any other domestic matter or foreign matter that may come up during a presidency. That’s why I think in Iowa not many people take Lindsay Graham seriously.”

Pat Robertson: Tell Bereaved Mother Her Dead Baby Could've Been The Next Hitler

Today on “The 700 Club,” a viewer asked host Pat Robertson what she should say to a coworker who asked her, “Why did God allow my baby to die?”

He responded that it is possible that the coworker’s three-year-old child died as a result of human error at the hospital: “Are you going to blame that on God? That’s not God, that’s people who are making mistakes.”

Robertson, who once said at a faith healing that God could bring a dead baby back to life, continued that perhaps the child would have turned out to be the next Adolf Hitler, and therefore it is better that the woman’s child is in Heaven rather than becoming a murderer.

“As far as God’s concerned, he knows the end from the beginning and He sees a little baby and that little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin, he could grow up to be some serial killer, or he could grow up to die of a hideous disease,” Robertson said. “God sees all of that, and for that life to be terminated while he’s a baby, he’s going to be with God forever in Heaven so it isn’t a bad thing.”

Franklin Graham Drops Bank Over LGBT Rights Stance, Joins Bank That's Sponsoring A Pride Event

Upset that Wells Fargo is running an ad which includes the story of a lesbian couple learning sign language before adopting a child who is deaf, Franklin Graham announced last week that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association will no longer do business with the bank.

Graham spoke with Craig James of the Family Research Council, which is cheering on Graham’s announcement, on yesterday’s edition of “Washington Watch,” where he explained that he will be switching to BB&T, another North Carolina-based bank.

Graham may not have done much research, as BB&T has received an 80 percent score in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index and this year is the sponsor of the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade, along with the chief sponsor of Miami Beach Gay Pride’s “Legacy Couples” program, which celebrates same-sex couples in “committed relationships of 10 years or longer.”

A bank spokesman said the company hopes to “support the individuals and organizations that broaden our perspectives and strengthen the diverse fabric of our communities. That’s why BB&T is proud to be a part of this day of pride and celebration of the 2015 Legacy Couples.”

In fact, BB&T hosted a same-sex couple’s wedding reception earlier this year “in a makeshift chapel at event sponsor BB&T Bank South Beach branch.”

Graham added that anti-LGBT Christians should also boycott Starbucks, Tiffany’s and Nike since they “promote the gay lifestyle.”

Ted Cruz Picks Tennessee Sharia-Hunter As State Campaign Chair

Last month, we noted that Sen. Ted Cruz had picked Lee Bright, a state senator with a record of stoking fears of a new civil war, to co-chair his presidential campaign in South Carolina. Cruz has now made a similarly revealing choice in Tennessee, according to the AP, picking Tea Party activist and former Williamson Country GOP chairman Kevin Kookogey to lead his campaign in that state.

Back in 2012, Tennessee Republican Gov. Bill Haslam faced a backlash within his own party. His offense? Picking a Muslim American woman who had previously built expertise in Sharia-compliant finance — helping Muslim business owners arrange for loans in ways that don’t run afoul of religious restrictions on paying or collecting interest — to a top economic position in the state.

Egged on by anti-Muslim activist Frank Gaffney, who warned that “ the financial jihadists will soon be targeting the Volunteer state for infiltration and influence operations,” a number of county GOP committees passed resolutions condemning Haslam for his hire. One of those resolutions was spearheaded by Kookogey, who told Talking Points Memo that Haslam had neglected to “consider that, perhaps, those bent on destroying Western Civilization might just be infiltrating our institutions.”

“It is not like this has never happened before,” he continued. “The Muslim Brotherhood is following the blueprint of the Communists, who infiltrated the highest levels of government and society in the 1950's. Shariah, however, is an even greater threat, because it has cloaked itself under the auspices of a religion, thus confusing the uninformed."

Kookogey also used his position as county GOP chairman to warn that Agenda 21 — a nonbinding UN sustainable development resolution signed by President George H.W. Bush — “ is, in fact, an insidious strategy of environmental totalitarianism”:

Of course, the choice of Kookogey as a top state official isn’t a huge surprise coming from Cruz, who himself has claimed that “Sharia law is an enormous problem” in American life and warned that Agenda 21 is a scheme to abolish golf courses.
