September Is 'Ex-Gay Awareness Month'… That Is If America Survives the Repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell

UPDATE: It appears that Voice of the Voiceless removed the post on DADT. Ironically, Foster has routinely accused gay rights groups of stifling his speech...but now his own organization seems to have done just that.

Since Ex-Gay Pride Month in July was an absolutely phenomenal success, Voice of the Voiceless announced on Friday that September will be Ex-Gay Awareness Month:

FIRST ANNUAL EX-GAY AWARENESS LOBBYING DAY AND DINNER

As a part of the First Annual Ex-Gay Awareness Month in our nation’s schools, Voice of the Voiceless and Equality and Justice for All are pleased to announce a lobbying day and evening dinner on September 30, 2013! More details to come in August.

Event Details

September 29, 2013 (7:00pm – 9:00pm) – Pre-Event Day Get Together and Lobbying Education Training (Location to be disclosed when you register)

September 30 (9:00am – 4:00pm) – Lobbying Congress and Senate on Capitol Hill (Appointments made on your own)

September 30 (6:00pm – 9:00pm) – Ex-Gay Awareness Dinner (Speakers TBA)

Today, the group kicked off Ex-Gay Awareness Month with a post by co-founder DL Foster that said the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell meant that “something Al Qaeda can’t do” — the decimation of the military — “will be accomplished by our own hands.”

The assassination of DADT created an even larger, more critical issue for the military who right now is a general with no clothes on. One is that its given this unchecked, almost covert power, to a group of people who demonstrated numerous times that they want revenge for the perceived and real injustices done to them by their heterosexual neighbors. Sure, its been conveniently called “equality,” but we needn’t look any further than the growing rash of anti-church, anti-ex-gay laws and policies being rushed to the front lines as evidence that revenge is a motive.

Just look at the venomous language used by gay-hatchet group “Truth Wins Out” (ironic I know) and its commentators, and the case is closed.

Secondly, giving “sexual orientation” unofficial power offset the very balancing nature of the UCMJ. The UCMJ was an equalized to all sexual lifestyles that carried a threat to the good discipline and order within the ranks. It kept in check adultery, fraternization, and homosexuality, at least to the degree that we all felt equal under military law.

But now, homosexuality has the “get out of jail” free card while the other proclivities are still in stripes. That’s patently unfair. It’s an unspoken belief that soon because the filed will need to be leveraged, other sexual activities will go the way of homosexuality and be sanctified. Then something Al Qaeda can’t do will be accomplished by our own hands.

Miller: Obama Is Imposing A 'Systematic Spiritual And Religious Apartheid'

Alaska Tea Party senate candidate Joe Miller spoke at this weekend's "Family Leadership Summit" in Iowa, where he shared the stage with Ted Cruz, Rick Santorum, Donald Trump, Steve King, and various others.

During his remarks, Miller told the audience that "we are at war for the heart and soul of this country" and that this war was started "over a century ago by the utopian statists" who have managed to turn our schools "into centers for atheist indoctrination" while imposing a doctrine of moral relativism upon the nation.

"If we ignore" this fight, Miller warned, "it would be cultural and political suicide," before declaring that "the President of the United States and his allies are engaged in a form of systematic spiritual and religious apartheid":

Santorum: Term 'Middle Class' Is 'Marxism Talk'

Rick Santorum says the term “middle class” is “Marxism talk” since America doesn’t have any classes. “Since when in America do we have classes?” Santorum asked a Republican gathering in Lyon County, Iowa, “There’s no class in America.” He added that the GOP, unlike Democrats,“values the dignity of every human life,” and therefore shouldn’t use the term—which he has actually used repeatedly.

NOM's Bill Owens Praises Russia Anti-Gay Law

National Organization for Marriage’s religious liaison William Owens emailed members of the Coalition of African-American Pastors last week hailing Russia’s law banning gay “propaganda” and chiding President Obama for speaking out against the law. He accused the Obama administration of trying “to force its immorality, depravity and sin on another nation,” while warning that “the free fall of our nation” and “the overall decline” of America represent “a ‘heavenly verdict’ against this nation.”

“I applaud the Russians for taking a stand for children!” Owens writes, saying that “this response from the homosexual community is absurd.” “[I]t appears that the leaders of Russia are attempting to stem the tide of moral decline in ‘their’ country,” he continues.

When I heard the news report regarding Russia’s new law prohibiting the propagating of homosexuality I was intrigued but the outcry that followed from the American news media, the LGBT community, and gay rights advocates was very disturbing. Many of these organizations threatened to push for a ‘boycott’ of the U.S. Olympics, while others threatened to put pressure on our legislature, and congressional representatives to compel Russia [a sovereign nation] into backing away from what ‘they’ consider a ‘discriminatory’ law. I believe that this is just another one of their ploys to cover their real intent, which is to force the acceptance of a lifestyle that is a clear violation of American values and moral law.

Friend, this response from the homosexual community is absurd. Since when does America have the right to force its immorality, depravity, and sin on another nation? We are currently witnessing the free fall of our nation. Over the past five years, we’ve moved from a super power position to a nation that is perceived to be weak and contemptible. This overall decline of our nation has proven to be an unequivocal manifestation of a ‘heavenly verdict’ against the nation.

With the battle for the family waging across this nation, instead of condemning a sovereign nation for its laws we need to be changing ours. The family unit is under attack and we must stand against those who want to redefine and destroy it. The family is the foundation of a society and the glue that holds it together. I applaud the Russians for taking a stand for children!

And though I cannot honestly speak to the morality of Russia or its leaders, I can say that it appears that the leaders of Russia are attempting to stem the tide of moral decline in ‘their’ country. And I do acknowledge that things are not ideal there, but it seems to me that we need to take the beam out of our own eye before we are in a position to take the beam out of theirs! America is not in a position to judge or impose our so-called ‘morality’ on anyone, let alone a sovereign nation!

My friend it is time to turn back to God, and it is time to get our [spiritual] houses in order. No matter where you are spiritually, if you are reading our newsletters, bells and whistles must be going off by now. I am very concerned for our nation and as a minister of the Gospel; I must declare to you that our nation is in trouble. We must pray without ceasing for our nation and we ask for your support to help us stay in the fight.

Concerned Women of America Speaker Explains How Elizabeth Cady Stanton Was Carrying Out 'Satan's Plan'

On his Family Talk radio program today, James Dobson replayed an old speech that we hadn’t heard before: anti-feminist activist Dr. Dorothy Kelley Patterson’s address to a Concerned Women of America conference “a few years back.”

In the talk, entitled “From Rib to Lib via Fib,” Patterson describes how Elizabeth Cady Stanton, one of the architects of the women’s suffrage movement, was in fact under the influence of Satan.

Quoting from the passage of Genesis in which Adam and Eve eat the forbidden fruit, Patterson – the wife of prominent Southern Baptist leader Paige Patterson -- explains that Cady Stanton’s famous creation of a “Women’s Bible” was just part of “Satan’s plan.”

Knight: Obama Acting Like Soviet Commissar While Agreeing With Me On First Amendment Case

American Civil Rights Union fellow Robert Knight has a column in the Washington Times today blasting President Obama and the American Civil Liberties Union for acting like Soviet commissar trying to extinguish religious liberty. Knight cites an upcoming Supreme Court case surrounding the town of Greece, New York, in which two non-Christian residents sued the town for exclusively inviting Christian pastors to open council meetings in prayer. The residents claimed that the town violated the establishment clause and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals agreed.

But that is an interesting case for Knight to pick as proof that Obama is undermining the freedom of religion, since the Obama administration actually sided with the town of Greece.

Ever feel like an “outsider?”

If you have, then you have license to stamp out any public activity that you find religiously offensive.

That’s the claim advanced by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and other groups that have taken a chain saw to the First Amendment. They intend to establish secularist sentiment as the only acceptable public expression.

Like the Soviet Union’s commissars and President Obama, they support “the freedom to worship,” a cramped view of religious freedom that protects essentially nothing. You can do what you want behind closed doors or inside your head. God help you, though, if you want to have an active faith and exercise your constitutional freedom outside those doors. Since before America’s founding, public meetings have opened with prayer. Usually, atheists or people of other faiths who find the mostly Christian prayers meaningless shrug and get on with business.

Increasingly, professional pests like the ACLU and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State are using lawsuits to stamp out freedom of religion.

A key case at the U.S. Supreme Court may help sort things out. In Town of Greece v. Galloway, the town council of the upstate New York town contends that prayers before meetings do not violate the Establishment Clause. They note that George Washington prayed in public and that Congress opens with prayer.

No, the unraveling of a civilization takes time, even when it’s proceeding at blinding speed, aided by government coercion.

Fischer: Sodomy Is 'An Ugly Word Because It Describes Ugly Behavior'

On his radio program on Friday, Bryan Fischer told his audience that they should never be reluctant to use the word "sodomy" when discussing the issue of homosexuality, saying that it is a "good word" to use precisely because "it's an ugly word because it describes ugly behavior."

Telling his listeners that they must be wary of ever "ceding ground to the enemy" by allowing gay activists to dictate how they can discuss the issue, Fischer explained that that is why he insists on calling marriage equality "sodomy-based marriage."

"I refer to homosexual marriage," Fischer said, "as sodomy-based marriage.  This is a pseudo-marriage; it's counterfeit marriage, fake marriage; not the real thing, it's naugahyde marriage and it is rooted in the act of sodomy":

Eagle Forum: Elysium and World War Z Show Need to Curtail Immigration

Roger Schlafly of Eagle Forum writes today that the summer blockbusters “Elysium” and “World War Z” represent not only warnings against immigration reform, which his organization has strenuously opposed, but immigration in general. In a blog post titled “Anti-immigration summer movies,” Schlafly argues that the two films “seem to be saying that the Earth is being overrun by barbarians, and the only want to preserve a civilized society is to build walls to keep out the intruders, and to kill them when they try to invade.”

Apparently, Schlafly was rooting for the super-rich residents of Elysium, which he laments “lacks the political will to defend itself against the non-citizen attacks, so it is destroyed and ransacked.” He claims the film is “a warning against unrestricted immigration.” He suggests that World War Z has a similar message and that its zombie invasion is an allegory for immigration.

The big-budget, sci-fi, A-list-actor summer blockbuster movies are: Elysium,World War Z, Man of Steel, Oblivion, and Pacific Rim. All were fun to watch.

Do these have political messages? The first two seem to be saying that the Earth is being overrun by barbarians, and the only want to preserve a civilized society is to build walls to keep out the intruders, and to kill them when they try to invade.

Each movie has a hero who supposedly is saving the world, but he is really just pursuing his self-interests or trying to impress a woman who does not deserve it. The Brad Pitt character in WWZ reluctant to help fight the disease that is killing billions of people until he is forced. Then he burns up his mobile phone battery talking to his wife when he should have been reporting to his superiors. The country that does the best is Israel, because it builds walls to keep out the invading zombies.

In Elysium, Earth is overpopulated and miserable. A few people escaped, and created a better world. The Matt Damon character tries to sabotage that world so that he can steal their medical technology and remedy a horrible workplace accident. Instead he helps some woman he barely knows. The off-world civilization lacks the political will to defend itself against the non-citizen attacks, so it is destroyed and ransacked. As the Wash. Posts reviews, "Matt Damon storms the ultimate gated community".

Some have suggested that Elysium is left-wing because of its theme to steal from the rich and give to the poor. Maybe so, but it is also a warning against unrestricted immigration.

Right Wing Round-Up - 8/9/13

Right Wing Leftovers - 8/9/13

  • We retweeted one of Judson Phillips' stupid tweets and it looks like he didn't appreciate it very much because he responded by calling us "traitors."
  • Bob Vander Plaats wants Mike Huckabee to run for president in 2016. So do we.
  • Glenn Beck and crew haven't seen "Elysium" ... and they never will because they know that it is communist propaganda.
  • Whenever a Boy Scout troop lost access to meeting places because of their anti-gay policies, the Religious Right threw a fit, so we are sure they'll continue to voice such outrage now that troops are losing access for having changed the policy.
  • Finally, Bryan Fischer says "it’s wise to keep an anti-sodomy law on the books, even if unenforceable due to judicial tyranny, to express the state’s official disapproval of that kind of conduct."
