“Donald Trump is willing to shatter families and shred our Constitution to pander to the ugliest factions in the Republican base. This so-called ‘state of emergency’ declaration is nothing but an unconstitutional power grab and a distraction from real immigration-related emergencies like the status of Dreamers and those with temporary protected status. Every time Trump damages border communities and immigrant families with his pathetic obsession with a wall, we should remind ourselves that the best way to get rid of him will be to vote him and his GOP allies out of office in 2020.”
