Washington, D.C.–People For the American Way today called for the resignation of Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam after photos surfaced of Northam engaging in extremely racist behavior in medical school.

“Ralph Northam must resign immediately. The racist behavior depicted in his medical school yearbook photos is extremely offensive. If Ralph Northam is serious about making amends for his deeply hurtful actions, he should step aside immediately so that Justin Fairfax can begin the process of restoring Virginians’ faith in the office.”
