Today, People For the American Way (PFAW) announced its endorsement of Susannah Randolph for Congress.

“Susannah Randolph will undoubtedly be a strong voice for progressives in Congress,” said PFAW President Michael Keegan. “Her leadership in her community shows that she has the experience it takes to stand up for critical issues like public schools, women’s rights and LGBT equality while holding big corporations accountable.”

Civil rights leader and PFAW board member Dolores Huerta stated, “As a grassroots organizer, Susannah has engaged and inspired members of all communities and has been a longtime advocate for those in need of a voice. In Congress, Susannah will continue to passionately champion progressive causes and lead the fight for the rights of women, minorities and working families.”

Board member and former PFAW President Carole Shields explained, “Susannah’s involvement as a community advocate has been instrumental in achieving fairness and equal opportunity for all Americans. She will continue to fight for women’s rights, civil rights, and voting rights and serve as a strong progressive voice in Congress.”

Susannah Randolph added, “I have always believed that if you work hard and play by the rules, you should have a fair shot at success in this country. I am honored to have the support of People For the American Way, an organization that fights for the best interests of all Americans. In Congress, I look forward to working with PFAW in leading the charge to protect the rights of women and minorities, enact fair pay for honest work, and to promote justice, freedom, and fairness for every American.”

As district director for Rep. Alan Grayson, who will be vacating the seat Randolph is running for, Randolph has shown her dedication to district residents and to progressive values. In Congress, Randolph will continue her impressive leadership by fighting for critical issues like equal pay for equal work, protecting Medicare and Social Security, and combatting climate changes.

PFAW is a progressive advocacy organization founded to fight right-wing extremism and defend constitutional values including free expression, religious liberty, equal justice under the law, and the right to meaningfully participate in our democracy.
