WASHINGTON, D.C.— Following the introduction today of two formal articles of impeachment against Donald Trump, on grounds of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, People For the American Way President Michael Keegan released the following statement:

“In introducing these articles of impeachment against Donald Trump, the House gets to the heart of the ongoing actions that constitute such a clear and present danger to the next election and to our national security. The evidence that Trump abused the power of the presidency and flouted the authority of Congress—and intends to continue to do so—is clear and incontrovertible. He must be held accountable now, and the House is carrying out a grim but necessary duty in introducing these impeachment articles today.”
