WASHINGTON, D.C. – People For the American Way (PFAW) today issued the following statement from PFAW Senior Legislative Counsel Paul Gordon in response to Robert Mueller’s press conference:

“The Mueller Report speaks for itself—but it is being drowned out by an organized disinformation campaign led by the attorney general.

“The House Judiciary Committee should continue to work to bring Mr. Mueller before the body to answer reasonable questions about his report. More broadly, at a time when the administration is openly defying congressional subpoenas, House committees must continue their investigations into the corruption and criminality around Trump and defend Congress against Trump’s assault on the oversight powers of a co-equal branch of government. As Mr. Mueller himself said today, processes ‘other than the criminal justice system’ should deal with such allegations concerning Trump, which means Congress.”
