WASHINGTON, D.C.— Following today’s House Judiciary Committee vote to approve and send to the House floor two articles of impeachment against Donald Trump, People For the American Way President Michael Keegan released the following statement:

“Today’s vote to move ahead with articles of impeachment was the only option available in the face of such overwhelming evidence of Donald Trump’s misdeeds. Speaker Pelosi is right when she says this is not a moment of joy, but of solemnity, and there is no celebration even for those who have worked tirelessly to reach this moment of accountability for an out of control president. Rather, particularly because of the clear and present danger that Trump poses, there must be a determination to forge ahead to protect our democracy. It is the duty and responsibility of the full House to impeach Donald Trump.”
