According to media reports, President Obama will nominate David Hamilton, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, to a seat on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. People For the American Way President Kathryn Kolbert issued the following statement:

“I’m encouraged not only that President Obama has made such a strong choice, but by his success in reaching across the aisle and winning the support of both of Indiana’s Senators.
