Last week, Peter wrote a post wondering if Family Research Council president Tony Perkins might just be "the most disingenuous Person on the Planet" for his on-going efforts to exploit the recent shooting at FRC headquarters for political gain by accusing those who criticize the bigotry of his organization of inciting violence against him, his staff, and those who share their views.
Today Perkins proves that point yet again as he has joined Ken Blackwell and Jerry Boykin in penning a joint op-ed published by Fox News in which they blame the Southern Poverty Law Center for a "... MORE

Former UN Ambassador John Bolton, who now serves as a foreign policy adviser to Mitt Romney, appears to be taking a page from Michele Bachmann with a new claim that the Obama administration is going to begin limiting free speech and expression to prohibit anti-Muslim rhetoric. While speaking to Frank Gaffney on Secure Freedom Radio, Bolton agreed with Gaffney that the State Department under Secretary Hillary Clinton is working with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to curtail the freedom of speech and begin “reinstitute blasphemy laws.” He even warned that there are... Harry Jackson appeared on "The 700 Club" today to discuss the importance of praying for America ahead of the upcoming election and to participate in Pat Robertson's aptly named "Pray for America" event that he is hosting all week.
While discussing the effort with Robertson, Jackson said that our nation's economic difficulties are all rooted in our moral and spiritual problems and that "when we get things right spiritually, God will lift this hedge of protection around us and also economics will begin to thrive again":

On yesterday's radio program, Bryan Fischer took issue with the idea that the recent riots and attacks in the Middle East were precipitated by the release of the poorly-made film "Innocence of Muslims," insisting instead that the attacks were all orchestrated and per-meditated and the film is being used as simply a convenient excuse.
In fact, Fischer said, while the movie may have been crude and amateurish, there was nothing wrong with the content itself as "everything it says about Muhammad is true":

Fox News’s Todd Starnes is sick and tired of ‘South Park’ and Hollywood getting a free pass. The Fox News commentator participated in the Values Voter Summit panel on “Religious Hostility in America” over the weekend.
The panel featured the familiar argument that Christians in America are somehow a beleaguered minority that is under constant assault. Starnes claims to have a pile of stories stacked up on his desk about “instances of people who have been facing attack because of their faith in Jesus Christ.”
Speaking of the controversy... MORE

CBN says Pat Robertson "was not seriously advocating that this viewer convert to Islam" so he could beat his wife and regretted "these comments and subsequently edited them out of the later broadcast." James Dobson says that Todd Akin "has been subjected to disgraceful treatment at the hands of the GOP political bosses." A little over a week ago, we noted that Gary Bauer had started posting videos on his YouTube page discussing current events, meaning that now we have the displeasure of watching him deliver his smug, self-righteous commentary on a weekly basis.
On Friday, Bauer weighed in on the attack in Libya where he repeated the false claim that the Marines had been prohibited from carrying live ammunition before mocking the Egyptian embassy staff and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for denouncing those who "hurt the religious feelings of Muslims" or "denigrate the religious beliefs of... Before telling attendees of the Values Voter Summit about her “sexual rampage” as part of an attack on Sandra Fluke and the contraception coverage mandate, right-wing activist Star Parker sat down with Buster Wilson of the American Family Association to knock the Republican Party for not being anti-gay enough. While Paul Ryan is a vehement opponent of gay rights, Wilson and Parker were upset that Ryan did not speak in depth about his stance against marriage equality at a time when Democrats are campaigning on the issue.
Parker offered a stern warning to the GOP: speak out against... MORE

The former Susan G. Komen for the Cure executive who orchestrated the organization’s controversial and short-lived break from Planned Parenthood earlier this year, is out with a new book claiming that the funding dispute was all Planned Parenthood’s fault. In “Planned Bullyhood,” Karen Handel claims that Planned Parenthood turned its back on a “gentlewomen’s agreement” to not discuss the fact that Komen was withdrawing $680,000 a year in grants for breast cancer screenings through the organization’s clinics and then turned on Komen in a PR blitz...
