Allen West will headline a fundraiser for E.W. Jackson, which should surprise absolutely nobody. WND readers send messages of support to the man behind the "Innocence of Muslims," mostly calling for President Obama to be put in jail. On Monday, "ex-gay" activists will be "hosting a lobby day to visit with members of Congress." Sen. Ted Cruz joined Jordan Sekulow, Rob Schenck, and other activists for a prayer vigil outside the White House. Finally, Exxon will begin offering benefits to legally married same-sex couples. We wonder what FRC will... MORE

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer, who believes that Muslims worship “a demon God,” alleged today on Focal Point that Satan is using Islam to usher in the End Times. He corrected a caller who said he “thought about getting rid of Islam but it says in the Bible that if we get rid of Islam then the one-world government is going to move in and the bankers are backing up the one-world government,” telling him that, to the contrary, Islam is the “one-world counterfeit religion” prophesied in the Bible.
“That’s part of the End Times... MORE

Is it possible that Tim Wildmon, president of the American Family Association, has never heard AFA spokesperson Bryan Fischer’s radio show? Of course not. But that leaves only less charitable explanations for the level of a) cluelessness and b) disingenuousness revealed in the October issue of AFA’s magazine.
In his column, Wildmon describes a disagreement he had with Christian author Os Guinness during a recent interview:
He said that Christian young people are leaving the faith because of the “ugliness of Christian activism.” I asked him for an example of what... MORE

It is always fascinating when the borderline theocrats within the Religious Right movement start to warn that Muslims should not be allowed to serve in the military or in the government because their primary allegiance is to Allah and the Quran rather than the Constitution, but then try to explain why it is okay for Christians in the same positions to give their primary allegiance to God and the Bible.
As Jerry Boykin explained on a recent episode of "Prophetic Perspective on Current Events," it should have "raised a red flag" that someone like Nidal Hasan gave his first... MORE

Even the right-wing Media Research Center’s Evan Mantel was moved by the Modern Family episode where Cam and Mitch got engaged…which is exactly why the sitcom is so dangerous. “As a conservative blog on entertainment, I’m in a tricky predicament during episodes like these,” Mantel explains. “It moved me like a good art is supposed to do. But that’s the problem. It moved me.”
He said that while he works for an anti-gay group, Modern Family “made me feel joy for Cam and Mitchell after the Supreme Court over-ruled California’s Prop 8.... MORE

A Kansas-based group that “promotes the religious rights of parents, children, and taxpayers” is challenging the state’s science standards because they include the teaching of evolution, which the group claims is a religion and therefore should be excluded from science class.
As the AP reports, Citizens for Objective Public Education (COPE) claims that public schools “promote a ‘non-theistic religious worldview’ by allowing only ‘materialistic’ or ‘atheistic’ explanations to scientific questions.” The group argues that by... MORE

One thing that we have rarely, if ever, heard from the ardent anti-gay bigots that we monitor on this blog was any sort of defense of Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church, infamous for their "God Hates Fags" protests.
Even the most militant anti-gay activists tend to distance themselves from the Phelps cult and decry their protests as vile and unchristian ... but not "Coach" Dave Daubenmire who today defended Westboro on the grounds that Christians have no right to judge the way in which this church carries out its mission.
Defending both Koran-burner Terry Jones... MORE

Glenn Beck's participation in the upcoming Values Voter Summit has been confirmed. FRC prays, yet
again, that God will stop Obamacare. Cindy Jacobs has committed herself to "do whatever I could to stop"
human trafficking, so she decided to "mobilize twenty-one days of powerful spiritual warfare!"
Peter LaBarbera is honoring the anniversary of the 1999 death of 13-year-old Jesse Dirkhising in order to "shine
light on the perversion of homosexuality." Finally, Bryan Fischer prays for Ted Cruz. MORE

Conservative talk show host Janet Mefferd is not happy that the Senate, in a unanimous vote, confirmed Todd M. Hughes to the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, making him the country’s first openly gay judge to serve on a federal appeals court. “Because he had to be gay?” Mefferd asked. “I mean, that was like a qualification, if you’re going to be on the appeals court you better be gay? That’s how it rolls now.”
“They mention that at least seven gay or lesbian judges now serve or have served on federal district courts; sounds like... MORE
