Gary Bauer leads a wide number of organizations — American Values, Campaign for American Values, Campaign for Working Families, Americans United to Preserve Marriage — and it has been a very lucrative set-up for him and his wife, Carol. Today, Carol Bauer emailed Campaign for Working Families members a “prayer alert” asking them to use the holiday season as an opportunity to tell young people why Barack Obama is such a terrible president, as “today’s twenty-somethings may now be awakening to political realities.” “The Thanksgiving and Christmas... Glenn Beck kicked off his radio broadcast this morning by playing the final speech from Charlie Chaplin's "The Dictator," which served as the framework for the rambling twenty minute monologue that followed.  As is usually the case when Beck delivers one of his stream-of-consciousness speeches, it was full of passionate beseeching and grandiose themes while simultaneously being utterly incoherent, resulting in passages where he says things like "we were slaves under the state and we didn't eve know it" just eight years ago. America, at that point, could have... MORE

We here at Right Wing Watch regularly observe how strange conspiracy theories and absurd right-wing nightmares percolate through conservative message boards and fringe websites all the way up to Fox News and the Republican Party, until they eventually become “mainstream.” In a new feature, we’ll look at five of the week’s most absurd conspiracy theories and maniacal claims. 5. Satan Behind Sexual Misconduct Allegations Against Herman Cain Herman Cain has finally put all those allegations of extramarital affairs and sexual harassment from different women to rest,... MORE

Even as Virginia Republican Ken Cuccinelli tries to downplay his far-right record on reproductive rights and LGBT equality, his allies are quietly using that record to try to turn out voters. Virginia business consultant Shaun Dakin has posted a recording of a robocall paid for by The Catholic Association that calls Democrat Terry McAuliffe an “extremist” for his pro-choice and pro-LGBT rights positions and praises Cuccinelli as a "pro-life, pro-family, pro-religious freedom advocate." McAuliffe is pro-choice and has said he would sign a bill repealing Virginia’... MORE

On his television program last night, Glenn Beck interviewed a special needs student who has been ruthlessly bullied by fellow students at her Plano, Texas high school. Beck followed up that segment with an interview with Rabbi Daniel Lapin, where he asked Lapin what was happening to us as a nation that this sort of thing was becoming more and more common place. Lapin responded by declaring that America is "no longer one nation under God" and was being taken over by a secular socialist values system, the very sort that led to the Holocaust in Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia. This... MORE

Never mind all those polls showing the Republican Party and Tea Party’s approval ratings in the gutter: Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) is hailing his home-state senator Ted Cruz as a heroic visionary for leading the Republican push to shut down the government. In an interview published today, Garth Kant of WorldNetDaily asks the Texas congressman if “Cruz looks more like a psychic or a genius,” to which Stockman responds that “Cruz’s ploy, which was ridiculed by many of the party members, was brilliant; he got 5.5 million names, they now know he... Religious Right activists were none too pleased with Dr. Russell Moore’s interview with the Wall Street Journal, fearing that the new leader of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission is throwing them under the bus. On his personal blog, Moore took issue with the article’s title, “Evangelical Leader Preaches Pullback From Politics, Culture Wars,” calling it “awfully misleading.” In an interview with The Christian Post, where his ERLC predecessor Richard Land serves as executive editor, Moore reassured conservatives... Grove City College professor Paul Kengor, author of Dupes: How America’s Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century, has more to say on the issue of duping in a WorldNetDaily column published yesterday. Kengor claims that progressives have “long been hell-bent on taking down the family” and “at long last seem to have found the vehicle to make it happen: gay marriage.” In promoting marriage equality, Kengor argues, are pursuing “totalitarianism” with the “unwitting support of a huge swath of clueless citizens and voters... "Coach" Dave Daubenmire is back with another rant, this time against bullying; not against the act of bullying, mind you, which he says is just a fact a life and actually serves the purpose of making its victims tougher. No, what Daubenmire is upset about is the effort to prevent bullying from taking place because it is rooted in efforts "to get people not to criticize or make fun of or poke fun at homosexuals."  And when Christians can no longer say "something that their conscience tells them to say," Daubenmire fumes, "then we see that majority begin... WorldNetDaily’s “expert on demonology” is worried that TV shows such as The Walking Dead and American Horror Story are encouraging people to take part in demonic worship. Karl Payne fears that with such programs, along with Halloween, promote “demonism on steroids” and open up “individuals to demonic influence.” “[T]his stuff is real, and it hurts real people in real life,” Payne tells WND. “If people play games with the occult long enough and still believe they won’t end up hitchhiking with the demonic, they’re naï...
