In an interview with Iowa TV station KIMT last week, Republican Rep. Steve King implied that undocumented immigrants who wish to join the military are “mercenaries” rather than “patriots.” King falsely stated that those who would be granted a path to citizenship for military service under the DREAM Act or two bills being considered in the House “lied to get into the military.” The proposals would grant a path to citizenship to some undocumented immigrants by allowing them to enlist openly. “It isn’t that we have to hire mercenaries to put on a... Christian Post blogger Michael Bresciani believes lawmakers should maintain marijuana prohibition laws because he thinks the Book of Revelation condemns pot users to Hell. Bresciani, who leads off his column by wondering if President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder “still smoke pot today,” laments that “America’s lads and lasses of lassitude can now legally suck the lingering fumes of today’s latrine of loose and licentious liberalism deeply into their lungs led on by a former ‘Choomer’ – the President of the United States.” After... After jumping to the defense of Cliven Bundy, WorldNetDaily is now troubled by the negative reaction to racist statements allegedly made by LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling. In a column today titled “Thought Police On The Loose,” WND pundit Barbara Simpson complains that allegations of racism against Sterling and Bundy, along with criticism of then-Mozilla CEO Brandon Eich over his donation to the Proposition 8 campaign, are “frightening” signs that America is embracing Nazism. She laments: “Sad, isn’t it, when truth is considered ‘offensive’?... MORE

Last week, we wrote a post about the fact that the story at the center of a recent column by Todd Starnes claiming that a young girl had supposedly been told that she was not allow to pray before eating her lunch at school had been definitively debunked after the shool in question conducted an investigation and "found zero evidence an incident ever occurred." In a gesture of goodwill, the school offered an apology to the family nonetheless and it was seemingly accepted through their attorney, Jeremy Dys of the Liberty Institute, who issued a statement saying: "We are grateful... Glenn Beck spoke at Liberty University today. There was some crying involved. A poll commissioned by Citizens for Community Values Action shows, shockingly, "a decline in support for same-sex marriage in Ohio." Robert Oscar Lopez warns S.E. Cupp not to support gay adoption because, in doing so, "we are encouraging a whole new generation of homewreckers – gays who want to be parents and figure out that the cheapest way to do it is to seduce someone of the same sex who is currently in a rocky marriage with children." Right-wing activists have released a... MORE

Wisconsin GOP state senator Glenn Grothman promised in an interview with Voice of Christian Youth America last week that he will be “an outspoken opponent” of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) if he wins his race for Congress. Grothman warned that ENDA “gives preferences” and an unfair advantage to LGBT employees: “It’s not only you can’t discriminate, it’s a preference because all of the sudden employers have to worry, ‘if I don’t hire this guy, if I don’t promote this guy, I’m going to be sued for... Mission America host Linda Harvey is overjoyed that some Muslim taxi drivers, while “sometimes kind of scary,” are refusing to drive cabs with advertisements for the upcoming Gay Games in Cleveland. But at the same time, Harvey continues to warn that gays and Muslims are working together to push an anti-Christian agenda. “I don’t know if you’ve heard, but there’s going to be a big gathering of homosexuals in the city of Cleveland in August for what is called the Gay Games,” Harvey said. “Yes I know, it seems that these folks can’t stop... As we have noted several times before, Bryan Fischer is a lot of things, but self-aware is not one of them and he continues to demonstrate this fact regularly on his radio program, as he did once again today. Fischer spent part of a segment discussing the fact that Dan Haseltine, lead singer of the Christian rock band Jars of Clay, had announced his support for gay marriage. In response to this announcement, Fischer said, some Christian radio stations have begun boycotting the band and refusing to play their songs while some fans have deleted their albums from the music libraries. Haseltine,... MORE

Last week, GOP congressional candidate and Wisconsin state senator Glenn Grothman told the hard line anti-gay group Voice of Christian Youth America that Secretary of State John Kerry was wrong to condemn Uganda’s brutal anti-gay law because his words upset God. Grothman attacked Kerry’s condemnation of Uganda’s law, warning that the secretary of state will agitate God by sending “scientists to Africa to say how wonderful the homosexual lifestyle is.” “Look at what’s become of our country,” Grothman said. He claimed that while America once had... MORE
