On Sunday, the Religious Right movement’s favorite rabbi, Daniel Lapin, devoted a segment of his weekly radio show to “liberalism’s love affair with Islam,” part of a running theme among right-wing activists about a purported alliance between progressives and radical Islamists. Lapin said that unlike conservatism, “liberalism is incredibly feminine” and as a result “loves [the] hard masculinity” found in Islam. “If there is one thing that Islam has proven itself to be, certainly in recent years and even longer ago than that, it is very... We don’t know what happened at Wednesday evening’s Capitol tour for the pastors at the Family Research Council’s Watchmen on the Wall conference, but in speeches the next day, two FRC officials really wanted to make it clear that they are definitely not gay. Craig James, the former Fox Sports analyst who was hired by FRC after becoming the Right’s latest anti-gay martyr, began his speech by joking that there should be a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy about the previous night, specifically calling out FRC president Tony Perkins and executive vice... On his radio broadcast today, Glenn Beck weighed in on the murder spree carried out by Elliot Rodger last week though which he vowed to "punish all females for the crime of depriving me of sex.” As usual, Beck placed the blame squarely on Hollywood and video games ... and progressives like Teddy Roosevelt. Reading portions of Rodger's "manifesto" in which he declared that women "should not have the right to choose who to mate and breed with" and should all be placed in concentration camps, Beck proclaimed that "that is almost an exact quote from Teddy... Speaking at the Family Research Council’s Watchmen on the Wall conference last week, Bishop Harry Jackson presented his case for pastors “leading the people in civil affairs,” including fighting the “radical homosexual agenda that is trying to take over the nation.” Jackson counselled the pastors to make sure that every lay leader in their churches can “bring a New Testament apologetic on why homosexuality is not the will of God, why God didn’t make anyone that way, and why it’s all right to speak up, speak out and keep on speaking.”... Today on the “700 Club,” host Pat Robertson offered viewers advice on “how to have a happy marriage according to Pat.” Robertson chided one viewer who said was bothered that her husband “has always felt the need to point out when he helps with chores around the house” by reminding her, “Remember, I did that for you.” Robertson told the viewer that her husbands remarks are simply part of the “male psyche” and “his way of saying I love you.” “Do you want to have a loving, warm, sensuous, exciting marriage or do you... William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) commemorated Memorial Day weekend by sending an email to members of his group warning that a proposed measure to allow undocumented immigrants to join the military would “bring great joy to America's enemies in China and the Islamic world as taxpayers will now be forced to replace their own children in America's military with illegal aliens who will swear an oath to anything while maintaining their hatred and contempt for Americans.” He further laments that the bill would “put military assault rifles and... Colorado-based anti-LGBT activist Gordon Klingenschmitt emailed members of his Pray In Jesus Name group this weekend to denounce a January court ruling in Maine on the rights of transgender students, which Klingenschmitt held up as proof that “‘transgenders’ want your children.” “Liberals demand public access to rape your girls, at least visually in public bathrooms, or to expose themselves to your girls at school, without parental consent or protection of any kind,” Klingenschmitt wrote. “Maine parents should immediately remove their children from... As we noted last week, Matt Barber's new BarbWire website has quickly become a blogging goldmine for us, as its mission seems to be to collect crazy pieces from all over the internet and publish them all in one place, such as this open letter written by Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (aka Joe The Plumber) to the families of those who were killed during Friday night's shooting spree in Isla Vista, California to inform them that while he is "sorry you lost your child ... your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights" to own as many guns as he wants, especially because... Bishop E.W. Jackson, the former Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Virginia who is now a senior fellow at the Family Research Council, spoke at last week’s FRC Watchmen on the Wall conference, where he warned that America is being “threatened from within” and that church-state separation groups like the ACLU and the Freedom From Religion Foundation are literally representatives of “demonic power.” Jackson told the roomful of conservative pastors that the ACLU and the FFRF are “not simply human beings who disagree with us.” Instead, he...
