The New York Times and Slate this week reported on the European far right’s love affair with Vladimir Putin, which could lead to the formation of “a pro-Russian bloc” in the European Parliament following this week’s elections.
The Times story focused on the French National Front party, and in particular Aymeric Chauprade, a top advisor to National Front leader Marine Le Pen and himself a candidate for European parliament.
Chauprade was a member of the small delegation of French activists who traveled to Moscow last year with National Organization for Marriage leader... MORE

As we have noted before, Bryan Fischer seems to inhabit some bizarre parallel dimension in which innocuous episodes take on a profound significance that only he can understand.
Take, for example, Fischer's response yesterday to Bill Clinton's statement last week that it took Hillary Clinton six months to fully recover from the concussion she suffered in 2012. He was discussing the initial claims that the former Secretary of State had "faked" her concussion in order to avoid testifying about Benghazi, but Fischer spun that off into a wild theory about how the former president... Former congressman Allen West is angry about the Democratic picks for the latest House panel investigating the 2012 Benghazi attack. Speaking yesterday with Janet Mefferd, West criticized Elijah Cummings, Adam Smith, Adam Schiff, Linda Sanchez and Tammy Duckworth, the Democratic lawmakers picked to fill the party’s five slots on the 12-member GOP-led “special committee.”
West especially raised doubts about Duckworth, a veteran who lost both of her legs and the use of her right arm in the Iraq War, raising suspicions about her loyalty to the country.
“Tammy Duckworth,... MORE

We have to admit that the launch of Matt Barber's "BarbWire" website has been a real boon to our blogging efforts as its mission seems to be to scour the internet in an effort to find the most virulently anti-gay pieces it can and then publish them all in the same place, thereby saving us a lot of work and giving us a constant source of content.
Case in point is today's piece by Don Boys laying out his disgust over Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend upon being drafted by the St. Louis Rams, which features a modified version of Peter LaBarbera's censored image with the... MORE

Diane Gramley of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania wants Congress to impeach the judge who struck down the state's gay marriage ban. Al Cardenas is stepping down as chairman of the American Conservative Union. What more could you ask for? David Barton and the Benham brothers. Even though Dinesh D'Souza admitted his guilt, Robert Knight is still convinced that his prosecution was political and unjust. Finally, Michele Bachmann is an expert on napkin folding: MORE

“God Loves Uganda,” a documentary about American evangelical involvement in inflaming anti-gay sentiment in that country, made its debut at last year’s Sundance Festival and reached a broader audience through this week’s broadcast on public television. The attention from this week’s broadcast has provoked a response from the International House of Prayer (IHOP).
Filmmaker Ross Williams was given extensive access to IHOP leaders, including evangelist Lou Engle, who believes Uganda has a special prophetic destiny. The documentary includes footage of Engle at... MORE

Wendy Wright of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-FAM) is very upset that the Obama administration chose the UN’s International Day of Families last week to issue a joint statement with Finland on LGBT rights. In the statement, which was issued on May 15 in advance of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, the two countries vow to work together to ensure “the ability of LGBT persons to live safely, freely, and without discrimination.”
Wright tells CBN’s David Brody today that the timing of the statement showed that the Obama... MORE

Tea Party Nation president Judson Phillips insists that for his group’s website, “racists [sic] comments is [sic] one of the fastest ways to be banned from the site.”
But he had no problem today sending members a post referring to the president as “Banama,” drawing on the racist comparison of black people to monkeys.
The post is as crazy as one might expected an article entitled ‘Banama’s Next Job’ would be, with author James Brody regretting “white timidity” in fighting Obama.
“Even his race – ‘black’ was... MORE

On Monday, “Generations Radio” host Kevin Swanson warned that “this whole lesbian whatever, the Neronic agenda” — the term he regularly uses to describe the LGBT rights movement — has helped plunged society into “dysfunctionality” and turned people into “feces eaters.”
“There’s not just divorce: people are eating their own feces, there’s incest everywhere,” Swanson lamented.
He said that only churches like his can draw the feces-eaters back to God: “There’s a contrast between the feces-eaters and... MORE
