Action Center

Speaking out to hold our leaders accountable and let them know the public is watching is vital to participatory democracy. The progressive movement and the fight to defend the American Way depend on the grassroots engagement of everyday Americans. When we speak en masse with petitions, phone calls, rallies, and other actions, our individual voices are amplified, and decision makers from elected officials to CEOs take notice.

  • President Biden Must Lead on Voting Rights by Urging the Senate to End the Filibuster!

We need the Senate to end the filibuster so that robust voting rights legislation can succeed in Congress, and we need it to happen with enough time to be enacted before the 2022 midterms. Tell President Biden that he must lead on protecting and expanding voting rights by urging the Senate to end the filibuster!

  • Tell the Senate to Stop Partisan Gerrymandering by Passing the For the People Act!

We cannot afford to let politicians draw deeply partisan and racially divisive districts that deprive voters of the chance to elect the best leaders for their communities. Tell the Senate to stop partisan gerrymandering by passing the redistricting provisions in the For the People Act!

  • Tell Sen. Schumer that recess can wait until the Senate’s passed the For the People Act!

We need Senate Democrats to lead on this issue and fight back in every way possible – including eliminating the Senate filibuster as a barrier to passing this essential legislation. Urge Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to keep the Senate in session and forego the August recess until they’ve passed the For the People Act!

  • Demand that the Senate examine the FBI’s sham Kavanaugh investigation!

It is more clear than ever that the corrupt Trump administration was pulling the strings during the FBI's deeply flawed 2018 investigation during Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation process. The Senate has a duty to expose and remedy any abuses that occurred by conducting its own examination.

  • Demand that the Far Right Not Obstruct the Investigation!

Six months ago, crazed and enraged Trump supporters violently stormed the U.S. Capitol in a desperate attempt to overturn the will of The People by preventing certification of the election results. Since then, far-right members of Congress have attempted to hide, deflect, and shield those involved from accountability – with some attempting to rewrite the history books altogether. Sign on to our statement to the House now demanding that these far-right members refrain from interfering with a full investigation!

  • Confirm Myrna Pérez to the U.S. Court of Appeals!

Myrna Pérez’s qualifications make her a strong nominee to fill this key seat on the federal appeals court. Along with Pérez’s extensive expertise, her lived experiences as a Latina woman will provide a critical perspective whose representation is sorely needed on our courts. Tell the Senate to confirm Myrna Pérez to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit!

  • Call Your Senators and Urge them to End the Filibuster and Pass the For the People Act!

Far Right lawmakers in dozens of states are trying to pass laws that will make it harder for Black and brown Americans to vote, and in several states they are already succeeding. Currently, there is a bill before the U.S. Senate, the For the People Act (S. 1), that would prevent the worst voter suppression provisions from taking effect – but without urgent action by Senate Democrats, the bill is destined to fail when it comes up for a vote. Please make a call to your senator today to add your support to the record!

  • Urge the White House to Fight for Passage of the For the People Act!

  • Demand that Michael Flynn is Court Martialed!

Retired General Michael Flynn’s recent comments endorsing a military coup to overthrow our election are a direct threat to our democracy and the principles he swore to uphold during his military service. Sign the petition now and urge Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to take the necessary steps to have Michael Flynn court martialed and stripped of military pension!

  • Urge the USPS Board of Governors to Fire Postmaster DeJoy!

Now that the Senate has confirmed all of President Biden’s nominees to the USPS Board of Governors, it’s time for them to take decisive action to save the USPS and FIRE Postmaster DeJoy! We need someone with longstanding experience in the postal industry to actually lead the agency’s modernization – not a morally corrupt businessman who wants to dismantle it from the inside out.

  • Tell the Senate to Support the Insurrection Commission!

We deserve to know what happened that day and the events leading up to it so that we can prevent a similar attack from occurring in the future -- and move to hold those involved accountable for their actions.

  • Urge the Senate to End the Filibuster and Pass the For the People Act!

We must DEMAND an end to the filibuster so that democracy-strengthening measures and other important bills can be passed. Sign the petition now and demand that the Senate eliminate the legislative filibuster to pass the For the People Act – the future of our democracy depends on it!

Tell the Senate to pass the NO BAN Act NOW – we can’t wait and give future presidents the ability to impose religious and ethnically-motivated travel bans!

  • Urge the Senate to Pass the D.C. Statehood Bill!

For only the second time in United States history, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 51, the bill for D.C statehood, and sent it on to the Senate. Now we have to keep working hard to make sure that every Senator knows how critical it is that they support D.C. statehood.

  • Tell the Senate to Confirm Kristen Clarke!

A champion of voting rights, a supporter of crime victims, defender against hate and violent extremism, and advocate of civil rights for all, Kristen Clarke’s career and lived experiences make her an exemplary candidate for the position she is nominated for and we must fight back to dispel these false attacks against her in support of her confirmation.

  • Tell Congress: Pass D.C. Statehood Now!

Passing D.C. statehood in both houses of Congress should be a priority for all of us who care about equality and opportunity. The House and Senate must pass this bill and end the racially biased exclusion of D.C.’s citizens from full representation.

  • Investigate Steve Bannon’s Role in the January 6 Insurrection!

Bannon seemed to know that something was going to happen. The question, now, is how much he knew – and how deeply he was involved in both the incitement and execution of that attack. Urge the Department of Justice to investigate Steve Bannon’s involvement in instigating the January 6 insurrection!

  • Urge the Senate to Pass the Equality Act!

The Equality Act would extend fundamental civil rights protections to the LGBTQ+ community to prevent discrimination in individuals’ daily lives. But the Far Right is waging a fierce campaign to stop it from passing in the Senate, which is why we need to mobilize support for the bill quickly.
