PFAW Callers Step Up for Second Chances Florida Ballot Initiative

Florida currently excludes 1.4 million returning citizens from participating in democracy. That could change this November with the Voting Restoration Amendment (Amendment 4) ballot initiative. Floridians will have the choice to return the eligibility to vote to their friends, family, and neighbors who have fully completed their sentences. Second Chances FL is relying on everyday Americans nationwide to step up and help.

People For the American Way staff, activists, and allied organizations were among those who stepped up for the national day of action on May 23.

PFAW phonebankers contributed to the hundreds of Florida voter conversations that were had that evening, including the identification of several new Second Chances FL volunteers.

PFAW was also part of a recent Second Chances FL pledge drive that garnered more than 80,000 signatures.

PFAW and PFAW’s African American Ministers In Action are strong supporters of Second Chances FL. If you haven’t joined us yet, you can sign up to find out about future phonebanks and other things that you can do to support this critical work.
