“Today, we are pleased to see the House of Representatives pass President Biden’s Build Back Better bill. This is vital legislation which begins to address some of the most difficult challenges our nation faces. The Build Back Better bill includes the largest U.S. government sum ever proposed to deal with the existential threat of climate change, provides free and universal preschool for American children, expands health care access for millions, and begins the process of rebuilding our country’s social safety net. The passage of this bill in the House is truly a victory for those who believe in investing in the American people and our country’s future. We urge the Senate to pass this legislation swiftly and we look forward to President Biden’s signing of the bill in the weeks to come. And following this historic accomplishment, we urge the Senate to move immediately to another urgent priority: the protection of voting rights.”
