Washington, DC – Following today’s release of President Biden’s twenty-fourth slate of federal judicial nominees, People For the American Way President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“This latest slate of judicial nominees from the Biden-Harris administration is one of the most exciting we’ve seen. It is deeply gratifying to see such a focus on the nomination of diverse, impeccably credentialed individuals whose careers show a deep commitment to civil and human rights. When confirmed, these new judges will include the first openly LGBTQ+ judge for the Eastern District of California, and the second Latina judge and first Chinese American woman judge for the Northern District of California. We applaud the president for these nominations and encourage Senate leadership to do everything in its power to confirm all current Biden judicial nominees this summer.”
