Washington, D.C — On this third anniversary of the confirmation of the ultraconservative Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, People For the American Way President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“Three years ago, the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh was railroaded through the Senate by Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell, who shoved aside normal processes and buried evidence of serious wrongdoing by the nominee. Now Trump is gone and we are left with a justice who is every bit the threat to Americans’ rights and freedoms that we feared he would be. He has undermined voting rights, reproductive rights, critical protections for health and safety, and more. Congress and the Biden administration will have their work cut out for them counteracting this harm.”
