Washington, DC— Following today’s Senate actions to advance the nominations of Myrna Pérez to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, Jennifer Sung to the Ninth Circuit, and Beth Robinson to the Second Circuit, and the confirmation of Tana Lin to the Western District of Washington, People For President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“Today the Senate advanced the nominations of three outstanding women chosen by the Biden-Harris administration to serve on the federal bench: Myrna Pérez, Jennifer Sung, and Beth Robinson. In addition, the Senate confirmed another highly qualified woman, Tana Lin, to the bench. This is an occasion to celebrate. Women, especially women of color and LGBTQ women, have been underrepresented on the federal bench for far too long. In addition, these women’s professional backgrounds demonstrate the unwavering commitment to civil rights that we want and need in federal judges. We applaud the Biden-Harris administration and Senate Democratic leadership for these great strides forward in an arena that affects the life of every American.”
