Washington, DC— Following today’s Supreme Court decision stymieing President Biden’s requirement for large businesses to mandate COVID vaccination or regular testing and masking, People For the American Way President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“Today the Supreme Court, dominated by Trump-appointed justices, charged further down its destructive path of undermining public health and safety and the institutions we rely on to protect them. This ruling against common sense COVID protections will undoubtedly lead to needless infections and deaths. It also sends an ominous signal about the Court’s determination to weaken bodies such as OSHA, which have at their core a mission to safeguard the public. This is another disastrous ruling from an increasingly dangerous Court.”
